On my holidays in São Paulo and who should walk in to my local launderette but Alexander Pato. I didn't want to appear too interested while he unloaded his smalls but I did notice he made the fatal error of mixing his whites and his colours. With the temperature setting and spin speed he was using the inevitable happened and the garments came out a delicate pink. The offending article? A red shirt! I'm not saying he's nailed on ar anything but you must admit the coincidence is extraordinary.

It's always a terrible place to be be during transfer windows, folks inquiring about the same thing over and over again, all over some random journalism picked up on caughoffside or even worse. Hang in EDS.

Yes mate they must be loosing there minds! I know i am!

11 Jan 2016 04:14:37
I beg to be different. I feel it's the most exciting time for this website! But in no way I wanna be in EDS position cause the number of repeated questions is TOO DAMN HIGH.

10 Jan 2016 18:17:03
Hi Eds and all. I really can't wait to see finally who exactly JK brings in on the next two transfer windows.

10 Jan 2016 18:08:54
Did you see him think Alaska was a country on pointless. Alaska away for England next I heard.

10 Jan 2016 21:59:04
That was shaming! I laughed a great deal at that Alaska comment. Who said footballers are thick.?

10 Jan 2016 16:59:37
Hey Ed's (mainly ed001), I was just wondering what you guys thought of the RedmenTV? I always enjoy watching their videos as it's just nice to hear people ramble on about LFC and I appreciate their positivity after some of our bad games. Have you ever thought about trying to get in touch or do some work with them? It seems to me what they are lacking is some real technical insight into the club and football in general which the Ed's on here seem to have. I know you have your hands full on here with all the sites but thought it could be a bit of fun. Thanks as always.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have seen a couple of their vids but that's all. I don't really get the time to check out things like that regularly, last few months I have pretty much put in 18 hour days 7 days a week, so just sleep when not working.}

10 Jan 2016 17:54:26
I admire your dedication ed. wish I could do even half that haha.

{Ed001's Note - it is doing a hobby for a living, and the missus has not been able to get much time off work either, so I may as well work as I would be just watching footie anyway!}

10 Jan 2016 18:17:47
Do we class watching films as ''work research'' for the talk movies page ed001 :)

10 Jan 2016 18:41:36
yeah ofcourse, making a living from a hobby is the dream. i'm just enjoying too much lazy time after finishing uni. I'm lucky I have all this time to study while living in my parents, who support what I want to do. I have a lot of studying still to do and i'm FINALLY getting back into the groove.

10 Jan 2016 19:25:11
I've seen a few of their videos and they are quite funny.

11 Jan 2016 02:11:51
You got to check out ArsenalFanTV too.

{Ed001's Note - not seen that, and Boba I have them on while I work mate, if there is no noise I would lose focus. It is not just women who can multitask mate.}

10 Jan 2016 16:36:36
Anyone interested in Benteke?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed023's Note - His missus?}

10 Jan 2016 16:52:39
Just his missus? He must be so ugly then.

Ed's I did a search but couldn't see the answer I was looking for. I know there has been a bit said about Fenerbache looking to make Markovic's loan deal permanent, was just curious if he was on a loan to buy deal with them as Ilori was with Villa, or its just a general season long loan, with him coming back at seasons end. I couldn't find the answer when I searched. Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is a one year loan - I would expect him sold in the summer.}

10 Jan 2016 16:14:29
Would the fact klopp was able to convince gurnic and his dad that his future lies in Liverpool hold any sway towards convincing Marko?

10 Jan 2016 14:53:10
Hi eds.
Not Liverpool related but need a massive favour.

My friend who is English and his wife who is Canadian have been happily married for a few years now but the home office is trying to deport her back to Canada and split them up. Please can you post to banter and i ask all fellow reds if they can sign the potion so they can remain together. We need 10,000 signatures and only have 77.

Hope all fellow reds can support my friends who don't deserve to be split up.

Thank you to eds and reds in advance and hope you will post this but more importantly fellow supporters help. It takes less than a minute to sign

Signed, hope it all works out. If they were looking for a larger platform may I recommend goo. gl/ cKqcv3 the site globally, and locally, draws significantly more traffic than the other site (more signatures hopefully) .

Pass on my best, YNWA.

It won't happen, IMO. Just lazy journalism.

10 Jan 2016 11:34:29
Ed1 do you see Sakho and Henderson making Wednesday mate?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I wouldn't hold my breath though. Difficult one with Hendo, as his injury is not really treatable.}

10 Jan 2016 11:48:09
ed wat is it with hendo kloop said it may have burst witch is what they want to happen as then It will heal back normal is this the case or has it flared up again cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know enough about it to comment on that sorry.}

10 Jan 2016 12:10:39
maybe one of the poster who is in the field can help, assuming this is under his field that is. i can't seem to remember the posters name.

10 Jan 2016 12:21:17
Hendo has plantar faciitis, which is the large tendon that runs along the sole of your foot. Ed is right that it can't really be treated but you can do plenty of foot stretching exercises which do help sometimes. The pain moves around your foot from your arch to your big toe but is at its worst on your heel, very difficult to put any sort of weight on your foot at all. I beleive Hendo might be getting some sort on injections that will eventually rupture his heel and then the pain goes (so they say) . I have had it since May last year, better now than its ever been but still can be sore after football. Its a pain in the ass.

10 Jan 2016 12:38:38
Carragher had the same injury and said when he ruptured the tendon and it healed the pain went away. It can't be medically treated and just because it worked for carra doesn't mean it will work for henderson.

10 Jan 2016 13:29:17
There is a podcast about his injury (not sure if i'm alowed to send the link) a sports science therapist goes into detail on Hendo''s injury, it's worth a listen, but Rover is spot on in short.

{Ed001's Note - yes you can link it mate.}

10 Jan 2016 14:21:48
Thanks Ed,

hendersons injury podcast

10 Jan 2016 14:31:58
I had plantar fasciitis for approximately 9 months. I tried everything possible to ease the pain and discomfort in the heel. Spent a fortune on treatment and seeing specialists in Harley Street to no avail. After 9 months it suddenly left me. Year on it hasn't returned. Hate to say it and hope I'm wrong but he could be out for a while.

10 Jan 2016 14:55:00
Had to make an account just to comment on this.
I have had Plantar Fascilitis in both my feet at the same time, it came about because of work/ football.
Technically you can't rest or do too much as both can cause more problems. My physio described the problem as like "noodles when wet they stretch and can move about but when dry (not active) become hard the trouble is once dry if you do too much you will make tiny tears and cause more problems".
I'm younger than Hendo and don't have access to the medical staff and physios like he has but i have not played football in over a year as i cannot put my health ahead of work etc, (left 2 jobs in 2015) as far as I'm aware the cortisone injections are only a short term fix, as he is obviously an expensive asset to not be playing is a problem but long term they may cause weakening in his foot/ heel and i was advised to not have them. In my opinion he will either have to be out for a long time or be managed to play certain games whilst never getting over it completely, his running style no doubt causes his feet to take a top heavy load when he plants down whilst in stride.
I was at the Watford and Sunderland games he did not look comfortable, i actually feel very sorry for him but if they manage him correctly he shouldn't pick up and complications, i personally have ruptured my achilles bursa and have slight back/ hip problems due to the plantar Fascilitis but the injury is manageable if he the club and fans are patient.

10 Jan 2016 15:25:55
I thought the pain was in his heel not his arse?

10 Jan 2016 20:15:15
I'm concerned about this burst witch. We need her back on her broomstick asap or it spells trouble for us.

10 Jan 2016 11:09:23
Hi ed's!
Got anything on a possible Dof for Liverpool?
Or are we even considering hiring on?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - why would we?}

10 Jan 2016 11:40:31
Just a rumor that I read somewhere.
But guessing that's all it was. Thanks for the answer.

10 Jan 2016 10:40:59
Sturridge - great player and he is a likeable person. One Q - if you owned a company and one of your highest earners was never there, what would you do? I can't see anyone buying him so I think it is typical Mirror crap. If this gut can beat his injuries, there ain't that many strikers I'd rather have.

Get behind him fellow Pool fans. Most important thing - we beat the Mancs next Sun!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

10 Jan 2016 11:13:35
Valid point u make, but when your highest earner happens to be missing a lot and still outperforms and offers more than a lot of your other assets it would be folly in ways to remove said asset. Currently our 2 players that would seem capable of easing the burden of Danny's absence are both injured themselves, with 1 still needing a bit of development and time to grow, being Origi, the other while hopes are high and we have no doubt he can score and will but will also leave everything he has on the pitch, being Ings. We need to hold onto Sturridge. Fingers crossed Big Ben has something click in his head and it comes together for him but in this moment the signs ain't there. Danny was the first Liverpool related name my son managed to spit out so for that reason alone he stays lol.

In this moment, I believe.

10 Jan 2016 13:17:35
Build the team without him in mind. Then when he does become fit he'll be an addition.

10 Jan 2016 16:21:54
DBol - That is the only way we could keep him in my opinion. Make him a bonus rather than a necessity. The only problem for me then would be his wages which are rather substantial for someone that rarely plays.

10 Jan 2016 22:25:45
To say its a tricky one for Jurgen is almost underlying his abilities as a manager. Obviously almost every manager in Europe would want a fit DS in their squad and Every Prem manager without question would have a git n firin DS as their main striker. No matter what you think of Costa or Kane Lukaku et el other than Aguero he is still Number One EPL striker. But what the hell do you do with an employee who reguses to work. Contract signed so the law is the law. The law maybe an ass in our eyes but he has to be paid. Suarez would go on the pitch for you with one leg. Unfortunately for us Reds DS is not made of the same stuff. Hand on heart if you were any and I mean any of the other Prem managers would you go to your chairman and say " I want to put a bid in for DS" and if you were a chairman would you say " Now you're talkin" let's break d bank n get in there. The £12 Mill we oaid was a steal but the wages he has picked up is spiralling out of control taking into account hos lack of playing time.
Klopp ain't no fool but he has his work vut out here my friends.

10 Jan 2016 10:37:52
eds:

A question or two for the eds please:
It has been mentioned by yourselves with regards to the owners in their poor dealings with buying players and the poor way we deal with our youth set up with poor loan deals ect, have they ever looked at other models (Chelsea or Spurs for example)? and not tried to completely copy it but replicate some of the better practices. For example how they seem to get full returns on players sales . We are bloody hopeless at it.
Have we anyone overseeing our operating practices or scouts so were not wasting money?, seems we waste a fortune (Benteke) under Bodgers for example.
We used to be brilliant at bringing rough diamonds in and making them superstars.
I get a little frustrated that more of our under 21s are not being integrated into the first team, Tex, Rossiter, Ward and Ojo and maybe more would in my opinion do well with LFCs first team.
I regally read similar posts on here with the same concerns It would save the club a fortune meaning we have a better chance in keeping our better players and thus not wasting money on so many foreign players.
How much input would Klopp have on our set up?
I do have a slight nagging doubt as Klipperty wants to do well would bring in players no better than what we already have rather than develop our existing young players again wasting valuable funds or is more a case of doing both better? .

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - (a) I have never said anything about "the owners" having made any poor deals with transfers or the like. I think you have significantly misunderstood something. Certainly the owners do not get involved with transfers nor the day-to-day running of the club. They do have one representative based in the UK running the business. (b) Liverpool has done well with some sales - Suarez and Sterling come to mind - hardly "hopeless". (c) Liverpool has a transfer committee overseeing transfers. (d) If you included the likes of "Tex" (whatever that is), Rossiter, Ward and Ojo in the first team squad only then they would only get game time on a very rare basis - Ward, for example, is learning a lot whilst on loan. If you wish to use players like that week-on-week then you have to accept the Liverpool will struggle at the highest level. (e) I don't know what you mean by "set up" but Klopp can pick and choose the team that plays each week form the players available; he is a member of the transfer committee so can influence that; he can visit the players whilst being treated from the impact of his "kopflose huhn" style. (f) I would be fearful if the club did indeed start to bring in players who are not better than the existing group.}

10 Jan 2016 12:08:29
I bow to your endless knowledge, ta.

10 Jan 2016 10:14:13
James Tarkowski of Brentford is a really good young CB. Is anyone looking at this kid?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page - try elsewhere, Brentford, Football, whatever.}

10 Jan 2016 00:42:27
Ed you said pato has 6 agents? Why? Surely that makes him difficult to negotiate with? Is it because of his ownership?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Agents and representatives, yes, there are six individuals involved. Two are related to his third party ownership.}

09 Jan 2016 19:38:03
Do you think smith and moreno could play on same team Ed lb and left mid? The balance of team is wrong at the moment. We haven't had a good left mid ssince John Barnes. Glad klopp has said we will play much the same team in replay.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, though I would only do that if the team had a few youngsters in it personally. Otherwise I would rather see the likes of Ojo, Kent or Ibe at left mid.}

10 Jan 2016 11:31:44
I think seeing as both are attacking minded, it might help a bit, as they are more capable at defending than a natural winger, so covering would be better. However they may be inclined to make similar runs, but personally (for big games) I'd like to see smith left back, as he's better in the air, better crossing and Moreno left mid, as he's more suited to running inside too, is fit so can help with the press and can cover smith if he goes forward.
