Fallon D'Floor nominations are in guys... With a staggering 80% of the votes going towards only one player! Who could it be you ask? LUIS SUAREZ!

Congratulations you have finally got something to put in your 21st century trophy cabinet other than a few cups and a flukey champions league..

Well done Liverpool FC should give your side a big boost for the title race this season, It may be your year?

-JakeW

Priceless post. Just brilliant. Outside of a few cups and a champions league, that sounds like what a trophy cabinet should look like then, does it not? Good work Jake. Maybe should have left it at the Suarez reference.

Andy K

Nice little award earned for your trophy cabinet. the most pointless post of the year award, congratulations your parents will be proud

Adam

Haha! How sad a life JakeW must have.
Comes on another teams page to make a stupid, irrelevant comment, trying to make a joke about the fact we WON the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! You want to talk flukey? Look at Chelsea's win before you start slagging ours off.
Thanks for the congratulations on the cups as well, quite proud of our Champions League success, FA Cup victory, Carling cup Victory, plus another Champions league final, a semi final, a Europa League semi final and a second place finish in the Premier League.
Think most teams wouls accept that in an 8 year period.

Jay

I bet those rose tinted glasses look fabulous on u do you wear them all the time or just for the football?

Jake- we do know this season we should of had 3 pens , with 3 clear fouls on suarez , the only difference from him and some other players is , the other players get the pens now and again, i dont like any player going down too easily, but when you get kicked from pillar to post every game, with many fouls not even given , i dont blame suarez that much, its the refs who are at fault.............lfc

Wonder how we compare to other global clubs? 1 UEFA cup, A few League cups, A couple F.A cups, the odd Community Shield, and a Champions league trophy which will be always be remembered as one of the best finals of all time. "Flukey"? honestly? There's banter, and then there's just stupidity. I'd take all those trophies over whats Arsenal have won over the last 7 years too i guess...
AsianRed

Rose tinted glasses? I was stating pure fact so your point is invalid. Some people need to look at the bigger picture, the things I mentioned were more than arsenal have to show for the last 8 years, more than tottenham and city as well.

Let's suppose that Luis Suarez had been caught on camera stamping on Robert Huth's chest in the early part of the game versus Stoke. Huth then goes on to be on the receiving end of a string of rough house tackles and fouls from Suarez and others, many of which remain unpunished by the referee. Later in the game Huth falls theatrically to the ground in the Liverpool penalty area even though there was no contact with any defending player.
Now let us imagine what Tony Pulis, Michael Kightly, FIFA officials, a web site et al might focus upon in the aftermath.
Do you think in those circumstances that the hot topic would be about diving destroying the game?
Or is there the slightest possibility that the media, pundits and authorities would all be working themselves into an orgiastic frenzy aimed at driving out stamping, rather than stamping out diving? Just a thought!

The Shoe Shine Boy

Hypothetical but you could not be more correct friend

An orgiastic frenzy aimed at driving out stamping, rather than stamping out diving? Just a thought!

Drop the shoe and take up poetry ..
Very good point, shame some of our own supporters on these pages picking on him (Suarez) and wants him sold.

Roy

Totally agree, same as RVP's elbow, how much has he got away with that!
If that was Suarez everyone would be condemning him saying he is a dirty player and goes out to injure people. For some reason Van Persie does it and its brushed over, as if he didnt mean to swing his arm in Cabaye's face when there was no reason for him to move like that.
No one likes to feel sorry for themselves and their team but it seems to have gone beyond a joke now with all the anti Liverpool media and decisions.
Think our top january transfer target should be Howard Webb. That would turn the season around.

Jay

Media manhunt.... and it will push him out or make him more determinate. Either way is getting alot of sh*t for nothing, last week he should off have 3 pens now he dives... Owen dives, Bale dives, Ronaldo dives.... MEDIA MANHUNT the question is why...... ?

Tell me otherwise but it seems like a witch hunt against Suarez,I get the impression people are trying to drive him away from epl I no he dived but he must be p****d off with getting nothing when he has been fouled in the box, also I can't still believe pulis and his merry men slagging him of when jabba the huth stamps on him.

Glad to see your not going on about it and have got on with your life hey.

CHEATING
Goalkeeper claiming ball was not over line when it was
Player raising his arms for a throw in when it clearly was the oppositions
Player gaining yards on throw in
Player fouling opponent to gain advantage.
Manager claiming Fergie time
Refeeree's taking a players reputation into account rather than judge him on the incident in the game.
These are just a few of the ways people cheat in footballrhaps you could add more.
Recently we have seen elbowing stamping and blatant fouls go unpunished, which is potentially dangerous play
Are any of these things of less importance than what Luis Surez have done, he has not hurt anyone only his and to a smaller extent the clubs reputation.

Bobbinred

Excellent post

All the above posts have valid points, but all fans do the same, we defend our own players and vilify other teams players, if, and its a big IF, Saurez had stamped on Huth, we would say it wasnt intentional. Sorry if I offend anyone, just my thoughts

To me this is who I would start in my first team when all fit for the future and second team and what we are missing.

1st team:

Reina

Wisdom Skrtel Agger Robinson

Shelvey Lucas

Suso
? Sterling

Suarez

2nd Team:

?

Kelly Coates ? ?

Allen ?

?
Borini Assaidi

Morgan

Exclusions:

Carragher - great servant to the club just behind the great Ian Callaghan in caps but his legs are gone..would like to see him get a coaching role at the club

Gerrard - Captain fantastic carried the club for years but will retire in next few years..he is getting a bit lazy now due to the mileage the guy has run for the club..he is omitted due to the new style

Enrique - Poor Touch and gives away the ball too cheaply

Downing - Shocking..offers us nothing! too indecisive.

Henderson - to me he doesn't know his role..great engine but doesn't offer us much...not great tackler and poor going forward

Spearing - too light and doesn't control the midfield

Carroll - Brilliant CF but the not the type of player that suits ball on the floor

Sahin - Left out due to uncertainty of us signing him permanently.

What we are lacking:

Pacey wing/fwd - Walcott or Mertens for me if possible

GK - Muslera or Ter Stegen

CB - Ogbonna or Howedes

DM - Moussa Sissoko or Wanyama

AM/FWD - Adrian Lopez o Kevin Gameiro

Finally Yes i do hope we we make some buys in Jan but don't expect 3..4..5 just not possible players prices overflated so would like a goalscoring winger and striker.

But don't think adding a striker will help the formation to allow Suarezz to shine cos he wants to be the star of the showeverytime through CF role so hard one to solve

Your Thoughts on the teams and rest ?

Only 1 God - Fowler!

Only 1 god Gerrard

And you have angered him

A lightening bolt may strike you down

10 Oct 2012 20:55:47
Provided all out centre mids are fit, who would you play? Personally I'd play Lucas, Allen and Sahin with Gerrard becoming more of an impact sub. Interested to hear what other people think on this though

And shelvey

Put him centre forward he knows where the net is, he wudnt miss some of thechances that have been in the last year then have suarez on left gerrard centre and sterling on the right

I've followed this site for ages now and whilst I don't post very often I do like to see the mood if the fanbase in the posts. It's really embarrassing to see how the posts swing so rapidly after a game ie, we win= BR is a legend in the making for blooding such youth, or if we lose = BR is out of his depth managing a big club and where is the experience we so badly need.

I think everyone should get off his back, let him do his job and judge him at the end if the season. Lets be real, we aren't going to go down even as worst case scenario. This season is about squad and playing style adjustment.

Where I do think criticism is valid is in the front yard of Ian Ayre. Commercial Directors in most companies don't make good MDs. For me there are three things I think he is/has got away with Scott free:-

1) the handling of the Suarez affair. With stronger leadership he would have stopped Kenny in his tracks and let the PR dept control communications. For me it destabilised the club last season

2) not having a striker in the bag on deadline day. BR thought it was happening, wages were released through Andy joining west ham, but he messed it up

3) the stadium issue. Appreciate it's difficult from a monetary and planning perspective, but very little communication leads to fan disenchantment and left thinking nothing will happen. Surely this is key to raising revenue

FSG and BR get the brunt of the abuse and I think that's unfair. For me I'd do everything I could to get David Dein who has experience in both stadium relocation and transfers

Pieboy1812

And what make you think Ian was responsible for these 3 situations ?
for 1, its the PR department that made a big mess of it, and few were sacked.
for 2 , did it ever cross your mind that Dempsey may have changed his mind in the last hour when spurs came knocking ?
and for 3, why you singling out Ian, Tom should be planning , talking and announcing ..

commercial director responsible for commercial activities , sponsorships, promotions , expanding the brand etc .. and the man did a very decent job doing that in the past 12->18 months.

Roy {Ed001's Note - 1. Ayre was in charge, the buck has to stop with him. 2. Dempsey did not change his mind, Spurs tried earlier in the day and were told no thanks he was waiting for Liverpool. It was only when the move to Liverpool fell through he went there. 3. Ayre is the man on the ground, the one in place to do things like talk to fans. He should be the one to come out and inform them or not. Though I think on this issue, knowing what I know, it is best that nothing gets said, not until it is sorted one way or the other.}

11 Oct 2012 01:06:34
Mate ian ayre didn't mess up anything regarding dempesy issue. Just make some effort to read Macca's post he made it clear owners were against buying dempesy. If you read owners letter it says clear they won't buy players who have no resale value. Rodgers didn't want carroll at any coast in his team he made it clear since he arrived. There is nothing connected to dempesy. Carroll was told by club he is not wanted we were just trying our best to get money unfortunately we didn't so we let him go at last momment to westham on loan and we had already bought Borini to solve our goals problem which hasn't work. If Borini was scoring goals for fun then know one would be talking about carrol or Dempesy. Owners wouldn't except to buy another striker in order to keep Borini on bench who has coast them 11M. If we buy a striker in january then sterling and susso will need to drop on bench coz suarez and Borini will be starting in our first team with new striker(if we buy)

11 Oct 2012 01:07:05
Ed1 mate if you read some posts of Macca he made it clear that owners were against dempesy signing but rodgers wanted him. Owners are not interested buying players who have no resale value they even made it clear in the letter if you read carefully which Blair was trying to point out {Ed001's Note - what has that to do with anything? I never said any different at all. I simply said that Dempsey was desperate to move to us, for some reason, and was fending off other offers in the vain hope we would make the deal.}

I think all Liverpool fans need to chill and take a reality check. We have a new manager that had to
A) come into a new team
B) dramatically reduce the wage bill by getting rid of a lot of players
C) Try to get rid of other players that don't fit his plans
D) and at the same time try to generate some funds for transfers,
E) while bringing in new players (Allen, Assaidi, Borini) and then
F) put a team in the pitch despite the fact that the majority have never played together before.

Name a club where you change 10-15 players and start to win straight away. On top of that, he has had to do it with so much young players and one recognized striker (as someone screwed up on transfers).

Instead, lets look at positives this season
1) the football is great to watch
2) young manager who is energetic, motivating and learning
3) young players getting chance AND looking brilliant e.g. Sterling, Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom, Robinson not to mention glimpses of Morgan, Yesil
4) some of older players responding and improving their game e.g Suarez, Allen, Johnson, Agger
5) Some of the new players look very good - Allen, Assaidi and even Borini in glimpses
6) general sense of excitement in the air

Now what are the negatives
1) someone screwed up on the transfers, which we need to make sure never happens again. We need to get more clinical at getting people in
2) some players making mistakes Skrtel, Gerrard and Reina
3) Still have some poor players at the club with limited resale value e.g. Cole, Downing
4) Not clear what to do with Henderson, Enrique, Wilson

So what needs to happen
1) We need a defensive coach - Carragher fits the bill perfectly especially as he is getting too slow to play
2) Coates should get his chance next to Agger - imagine what he can learn from Agger
3) Johnson is better right back than left back - Robinson as backup. Enrique - your time is up unless you show the early last year form
4) Wisdom - hopefully Flanagan can cover
5) Need another center back - would like to see Coady given a chance either as CB or defensive midfield
6) Get rid of Cole and Downing - both are earning too much for the level of commitment they are putting in
7) Buy 1 or even 2 strikers - should look for one top signing like Llorrente and possibly an older poacher like Klose that the new kids could learn from.
8) Unclear as to the future on Wilson, morgan (Should he not be getting a chance if he is as good as Fowler/Owen etc)

I have to say, overall I am very encouraged and think with some minor spending we will have the core of a great team for years to come.

So what needs to happen
1) Start turning performances into RESULTS
2) stop making feeble excuses for poor results.
3) stop broadcasting "Being Liverpool"

Do that and criticism will cease.

Some fans on this site are the sort that say "Dad, i want an I Phone 5 can you get me one at the weekend?" Dad replies "a BLOODY I Phone 5, i just got you a 4s for your birthday two months ago". Kid replies "Well its old, and so and so at schools mum just bought him one"! Dad says "Your bloody joking, i don't care what he has got" kid cries out, "I hate you, you never get me anything, your not my real dad as if you were you'd want to get me one, i must be adopted, i want rich parents not you lot"

My point is, these posters have no idea about the value of money, and what graft it is too earn it, The child has no idea his dad may have to work for a month to afford him a new phone, the same way the supporters have no idea how much it cost to run a football club. Sack him, pay him off, buy him for 35 mil and him for 20. Ed do you think if we bid for him, say 60 mil, do you think he'll come. If not FSG should bugger off out of it, they cant afford to run a football club.

It gets very tiresome, but chin up to those with a realistic and positive view, perhaps the one's who have grafted and have an idea the true value of the pound note! You are holding the site together JUST.

Well if the moaners have enough money to buy the club, run it and put endless money for transfers and experience to get good sponsorship then make a bid for the club if not at least wait till january.

looks like we will be getting Son Heung-min from Hamburg because the story is 1 of the five top stories on LFC.com (i know we might not get him but a can't remember the last time gossip of players from other clubs got posted there without something not happening)

I think I'll weigh in on Suarez, as I'm sure your all not sick of reading about him on this website.

When focused on the game, the boy is electric. His dribbling, quick change in pace and hunger for the game is unparalleled in our team, possibly ever the premiership at times (see Norwich last year and this). That said it's a fairly rare occassion where you get a consistent, positive approach for 90 minutes.

I think some argue his passion for winning and the game gets the better of him, personally I don't believe that's just it. I think he crave's attention positive or negative. He thrives of riling those up around him, stiring up trouble and generally making a nuisance of himself. Now personally I'd hate that, but it's like a switch that comes on in his head.

I'm happy enough for him to stir things up, but I honestly can't stand the theatrics. Diving, the constant claiming of hand balls, fouls and otherwise is one thing. But his reaction to his team mates for a misplaced pass, including 17 and 18 year olds is shocking. Yes it's born out of frustration, but things like that ruin a teams spirit.

From an off the pitch perspective he seems like a typical loving father and husband, a sociable person who is well liked. But for Luis the moment he probably sets foot in the tunnel that all changes. I know big talent comes with baggage, see Balotelli, Tevez and most of the Dutch squad over the years. However at what point does the talent outweigh the risk? Personally I'm not sure, but in recent times what I've noticed is when Gerrard isn't playing the team function as a unit, with a weight seemingly liften and distributed more evenly. Collectively having so called 'world class' players should make a better side, but in reality I'm not sure this is the case.

Hes not as bad as he was

"The secret is that our Liverpool team never know when to stop running and working. At Anfield we have always believed in players supporting each other and concentrating on not giving the ball away. You can't go charging forward all the time, willy-nilly. You must have patience"
'BOB PAISLEY'

this is what liverpool is about, this is what br is tryin to do.

That my friend sums it up! The zen like genius of Mr Robert Paisley years ahead of his time & criminally underrated, there are parallels with Brendan Rodgers. jft96
Paisley's genius

10 Oct 2012 19:18:07
The cheap 'three envelope' tactic of BR belongs in the leatherette man bag of a young regional manager of a mobile phone shop - not in a briefing of elite athletes and complex teams.

Read Humphrey Walters, Kevin Roberts and Clive Woodward to see how great managers transform and motivate sports teams. No cheap tricks. No portraits on walls. And no public comments that undermine team purpose.

Drew

Yes because Alex Ferguson did that 20 yrs ago and it completely destroyed his coaching career didn't it......

ED,

i'm not banned am I? Dunno what I did wrong if so but I'll gladly apologise. None of my posts for the last half hour to 45 mins have appeared.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - I was awaiting the "big one" - the "one" which might lead to a ban, or might not. It seems that I am the only Ed washing up the Liverpool posts right now - and I am on the road and about to go out for an evening of psychedelia reliving my youth in Berkeley. I am guessing the other Eds are scared of you? But you are not banned - yet. The others wanted to ban you, but I fought your end. So if there is nothing further until I roll in during the night and pick up the posts, don't worry.}

Thanks ed, I'm a little curious what it was that I said that was offensive. I certainly never meant to and I apologise profusely.

You think one of the eds could e-mail me and let me know then I can avoid it in future?

Nevada {Ed001's Note - I think he was winding you up mate.}

Enjoy your evening ed.

Nevada

I've also noticed none of my 5 or so replies to posts today have shown up on the site, any idea why? None of them were offensive etc... ? Any help?

ChrisMiz {Ed001's Note - not a clue sorry, I have not personally deleted anything from you.}

Out of interest why the sudden talk of banning? Reflo or Nevada as he's now known seemingly was a good source of info, with generally positive things to say. Something may have changed, but I'm surprised.

Papa G {Ed001's Note - did you really think she was serious?}

It's been a long day ED01 and yes I believed it with no real back story. Think I need some rest.

Papa G {Ed001's Note - to be fair, 002 is a master of the plausible wind up. You can never be sure at first glance, because it could be true.}

Ed001,a question if i may. The true sexuality of Ed002 for me,has been something of an enigma. I've never been able to get a straight answer, and unless im mistaken, you refer to ed002 as both male and female in the above posts.
Think you could clear things up for me mate?
Thanks

Curious what others would think (I realize it's entirely unlikely)- Suarez + say 10M for Higuain. Yea or nay?

I would take it in a heartbeat, personally.

So suarez is worth 35m think we could get alot more if i wanted to that is

In all honesty I'd take that considering the issues over the last 12 months.

Jonesred

Stop playing FIFA!!

Higuiain offers more of a goal threat and is generally a very clinical player, he wont create as much as suarez though. It's a tough call, and I'm a big fan of Higuiain.

Nevada

OP here- Not playing FIFA, just a simple question looking for opinions. Geez.

I don't think Suarez is worth 35M, honestly. I'd say more like 25M, maybe 30M at a stretch, but I suppose it always depends on what someone would be willing to pay.

For me, I think Suarez is an exceptionally talented player, but he's not really a striker. He plays with his head down too much and generally doesn't seem to score from others passes to him but more from action he creates himself nor does he really bring that creativity to bear in creating chances for others. I think we need a striker who can score from crosses and just generally getting on the end of the ball while in the box. Then there's all of the controversy with him which simply isn't helpful.

Point being, if we lose Suarez I wouldn't be heartbroken so long as we got a good natural striker as a replacement so this was just one (admittedly unlikely) scenario.

If suarez went to any other league in the world he would be scoring goals for fun. seriously if he went to Atletico Madrid he would be a 40-45goal per season player.

30 in the League and cup
10 in Europe

for the simple fact that he is that good.

at liverpool he will be 20goal per season player (in the league) with the current squad we have now

but if we get better players around him he would be a 35goal per season player in all comps.

More like Higuain + 10m for suarez

Id say Suarez is worth 25 Max

But AC was signed for £35m so that being the case LS should be worth £50/60m, if we get that BR will get £20m to spend and £30m in the coffers to invest in the youth policy.....I feel sorry for him, must be like smashing your head against a wall...if LS dont fire we dont score

Neilos

Out of the 8 goals we scored in the premier league; 5 of these are by Suarez , and you lot want him sold ... Grow up
Dont react to the media hysteria, yes he did something stupid, but Ashley Young did it 2 weeks in a row last season (one of them resulted in a sending off) and the media said next to nothing.
He is being picked on, incidents in the United , Norwich and Stoke games proves it(can you imagine what would've happened if Huth dared stamping on Rooney?). Yes Suarez did something stupid but a lot of players do all the time.
Roy

Suarez is a playmaker type striker and higuain is a goal scoring type striker. We need both at liverpool and we already have a very good playmaker in the form of Suarez, higuain may never settle or have any number of issues so it would make sense to keep Suarez and buy a goalscorer.
In terms of value they must be about the same but maybe Suarez and his attitude might bring his price down.

I've said it once and I'll say it again......other teams fans are jealous of liverpools undying support no matter what's happening on or off the field......it's because that the majority of Liverpool fans have supported them all there lives, we stick by our club until the day we die, where the majority of other teams fans have changed teams at least once......as rafa says.....FACT

Really ? AJH please go and ask all the most of the chelsea fan outside of london they use to support Arsenal when they were winning and now its chelsea they same goes for Man city fan outside Mancester they use to support some one else before. I know a bulgarian guy who use to love man utd because they had berbatov now he is a fulham fan :))

The atmosphere at anfield hasn't been great this past couple of weeks granted, but i think the transfer deadline day set the tone for that. The players all said they were all dissapointed when no new arrvals came in.Now with the team that has to rely on youth players, struggling,it's no wonder the atmosphere has changed.there is simply nothing to be happy about at the minute.

There wasn't a lot to be happy about a half time in Istanbul. We still sang our hearts out, and the players heard us.

Try being a better supporter or give your ticket to someone who will be that 12th man.

A lot of fans give FSG stick for being ''American' in their approach to things. Well, guess what, sitting in your seat all quiet until the team does something before you cheer is a very American sports atmosphere. Or perhaps it's only sing when you're winning?

That is not the Liverpool way, surely. Support the team. Give them something to respond too, don't wait and respond to their performances.

Nonsense. Too many Liverpool fans live in the eighties. All supporters need to get behind their team. Newcastle fans are outstanding and become the 12th man as we need to. Pointless fans sulking that we let Andy the Carthorse Caroll go on loan - £100k a week for how many goals so far?? Get over it, move with the times, support BR and support the team. We all need too.

Too many 'proper' supporters have been priced out and now watch the games on Sky or in the pub.

They've been replaced by too many outsiders, who have no patience, no football knowledge and no idea how to support a team when they are struggling.

They are the biggest hurdle Liverpool face in their attempt to return to the glory days.

If you don't believe me, watch next time tv do interviews with fans outside the ground on match days - you'll be lucky to hear one Scouse voice in 10.

I'll get slated for this but here goes - the atmosphere is bad because there a too many organised trips for fans from foreign countries, too many families who only go to one game a year who don't know the songs and too many fair weather fans. The first two points are necssary because we need to appeal to a wide/global audience so I can understand why it has to be this way. Point 3 is inexcusable.

What happened to my rather lengthy post about 40 mins ago ed? Was it too long to print?

Bah, Ill have to re type. Thanks for letting me know ed.

I wasnt naughty at all, just my usual attempts at objective deconstruction.

Ill re-post it now, could you keep an eye out and tell me if its not print worthy and why please?

Not banter, more of an observation.....

In the week the FA open the new all singing, all dancing headquarters at St Georges Hall (or whatever they've called it) we hear that Alessandro Del Piero has migrated to Australia to ply his trade, and the first observation he makes of his fellow team members in play is how much they run about! The inference being not letting the ball do the work

Rewind if you will to several years back when Rafa was in charge and said of Stevie G ( paraphrasing) that he was a great player, but needed to be more 'game aware' and use his abilities less with running and more with the ball.

Fast forward again and we have the new singy dancy thing...the new St Georges arena for all of our coaches to be trained in the most forward thinking tactics to hopefully, in fifty squillion years time, create a team that is worthy of a cup semi -final...and at the helm / pinnacle of this paradigm for the future coaching philosophy is Wascally Woy....the current England Manager, who through his tactics, expected of and managed to drill the two central midfielders (SG and Parker) into the ground after 60 minutes in one game at the last tournament, to the point they couldn't stand. The last time a central midfielder of their calibre going down after an hour with cramp was?

The future of England is in good hands.....cry God help us for Roy and St George!

Who gives a f#*k were Liverpool

To the above post. I actually give a f**k.
I am a football fan on a football site and he/she made a post about football.
Does that mean I can never watch a game that does not involve Liverpool??
I love all things football u/18's,England,Liverpool and I will even watch the mancs..... get beat!
In regard to the poster's question.....
I have put a bet on that there will be a massive picture of Roy Hodgson made to look like an owl on the front page of a national newspaper when he finally gets the sack. Under a headline of " OWL HEAD".
I am waiting to collect.

I like Suarez, simply because he is our player. If he played for any other team, with his whinging and flopping, I would hate him. I admit that he doesn't get the calls that he should, but who can blame the refs? The last flop against Stoke was downright embarrassing.

11 Oct 2012 00:50:28
Someone bothered to put together a YouTube of all the nasty fouls and non-called penalties on Suarez so far this season. Have a look at this and tell why he should have to put up with this abuse! Bale dives all the time. He says he does it to protect himself. Ronaldo said the same when at united. Suarez is getting NO protection from the refs.

Ha watch being Liverpool on Friday. Brendan Rodgers with the psychology envelope game. 3 names that will let team down are Brendan Rodgers, Stewart Downing, and the refs won't give Suarez penalties

Hi eds do you know the names of those who are advising fsg,as they aint doing a very good job. {Ed002's Note - What do you think FSG are doing wrong?}

They aren't spending billions of pounds ed. {Ed002's Note - That must be it.}

They only buy young player, they wouldn't sanction the move for dempsey because he was 29.Youth is great in football, but you cant beat experience.

FSG wrong doings

Sacking Kenny

Sacking Steve Clarke

Giving Rodgers the job

Being too poor to won a club like LFC

Having no proper Mgt. Structure at the club

Underestimating what it takes to compete in the EPL

What have they done right would be easier to answer = very little {Ed002's Note - Not only the world's most fickle fans - now seemingly the world's most ungrateful fans. Certainly FSG do not deserve fans like you.}

Spend trillions and ill be happy.

Take no notice of these fans ed i go every game were all in good mood yes we should have brought a striker in but put the dummy back in suck it up and work harder typical armchairs hate them {Ed052's Note - The owners are legends. Why people criticise them is beyond me}

I feel very annoyed with ungrateful fans like yourself.

Nevada

FSG wrong doings

Sacking Kenny : Shouldn't have been given the job in the first place.

Sacking Steve Clarke : They didn't, he resigned to take the West Brom job

Giving Rodgers the job : Good decision, bright, young talented manager.

Being too poor to won a club like LFC : They have something like £17 billion between them.

Having no proper Mgt. Structure at the club : We need a chief executive

Underestimating what it takes to compete in the EPL : They haven't, they are putting in a system so we can compete in the future.

Lfc fans fickle heard it all now from ed002 u want to look closer to home pal chelsea were having 12,000 crowds under hoddle lfc have full house every week and for europe for second rate comp not bad for fickle fans if chelsea were in the same postion u would not get 20,000 {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Chelsea - that is simply another irrational comparison. Fickle - why not visit these pages in the 12 hours after a win, lose or draw. perhaps you will then understand rather than embarrassing yourself and bleating at me.}

Fsg too distant and have difficulty in not seeing that others are right its a problem you get when you make loads of money, which in itself is fantastic but they did not make their money in soccer so they are very green and it shows . they are nice people but isn't the villa owner and even though he is very rich he has no intentions of spending his money the way the villa fans want him to so we have to live in hope that things come together in some magical way while the manchester clubs , chelsea etc follow a tried and tested method of buying the best players and using that as their trusted method. fsg did try but perhaps like any one they do not want to get their fingers burnt again as we can not get any proper money back for the players they bought for over 100 million ,red mick tag . ynwa

Well said ed002, im a massive liverpool fan but must admit i see some fans on here when we win we are the best, everybody be scared cos lfc are back, br is the man, the new shankley, stevie g is a legend and the greatest lfc player of all time, when we lose or draw, we are awful, jobs too big for brendan rogers, if he had any balls he would drop gerrard, gerrard is past it, carragher needs to retire, some fans on this page are giving the real fans and club a bad name, its frustrating to see the posts but i bet not as frustrating for the eds

The one good thing about Benitez was that he handled the negotiations with clubs personally, he rang them up and said liverpool is interested in this person, then rang up the player and said i want you here. that is how he got alonso, garcia, pepe, arbeloa, lucas, etc etc

i really don't mind arye he is good at his job but leave negotiating to the men. he tries being to cleaver too much. or FSG are tacking their Policy a bit too strongly, they need to ease their way into making LFC squad younger over the 3 year BR is contracted to be here for, not straight we will back you but you can only sign 16-22 year olds.

Ed I doubt these are LFC fans anyway these are guys just coming to waste thiers as well as our time. I dont read any post like these because my 5 yr old makes more sense then these persons and my 5 yr old supports and loves LFC because thats his team

What fsg have done right:

Saved us from the brink of bankruptcy. Respected the fans wishes in bringing KD even though he wasn't there choice, spending loads on the club to cover our operating costs.

Enough said - be grateful.

Realistic red

10 Oct 2012 15:54:25
According to media in the states FSG not not going to invest heavily in either Liverpool or the Red sox.

And so they shouldn't. If the club cannot generate the money it needs to spend then it should not be spending it, ask Dortmund, Rangers, Leeds and Portsmouth how that worked out for them.

*Dortmund are well run now but its through spending money they didn't have that they had to adopt this appraoch before they folded.

Nevada

Seriously who is disagreeing with this? Do you honestly want the club to spend money it doesnt have, go into debt and then bankrupt?

Nevada

If the debt is`nt ridiculous and is spent wisely then it would put us in better position to make more money, ie CL

10 Oct 2012 15:33:25
i think that we should go all out and try and sign 3 ajax players Viktor Fischer (for the future mainly looks like he could be world class of the performances that he put in at the next gen comp), Christian Eriksen (caries both his club and country to certain degree, in another league compared to most of the players playing that league) and Kolbeinn Sigþórsson (look at his goal scoring record before he broke his ankle) and then 1 PSV player in the form of Dries Mertens (another goal score/winger player) Plus there all in keep with the clubs average age which means that they would have a fair few years in them at the top level signing these would take us on to another level that is able to challenge for top 4

i reckon that this would lay us back 55 million but if we sell carroll and spearing in the winter market to west ham and bolton. Then shift on some others that aren't putting in the work load like downing, Enrique Henderson which should cover more than half of the cost if would be to buy these players plus these four players are all very well gifted technical and would fit into the system.

And it seems that players from holland settle into the prem quick than players from the likes of italy. Suarez RVP, Moussa Dembélé, Thomas Vermaelen, Jan Vertonghen, Kuyt and etc are all examples of great players that came straight out of the dutch league to produce the goods in this country so why can't these do the same

Mark the Red

Alfonso Alves, Gomes, Babel, Kezman.

Just a couple that didnt settle well.

Wasn't Ericksen quoted somewhere today saying that a transfer to Liverpool "is unlikely"?

Didn't he also previously state that any move to England would just be a stepping stone to Madrid or Barca?

Nevada.

Why our fans seem so hellbent on getting this lad after one good season in holland and a couple of good international appearances is beyond me.

We wil do it the usual way which is uncover unknown gems ala Alonso, Mascherano, Molby etc etc.

We will be fine given the right amount of time and patience by the fans. We have a good strong manager with good principles setting in place. We have an abundance of youth coming through attained from throughout Europe that Rafa helped create. We also have an adequate back room staff and owners looking for the best possible solutions attainable in the current climate.

FSG have been generating cash in deals for the club since they arrived, this can only be a positive.
We were left in such an awful state after Hicks and Gillette got their grubby greedy hands on the club, that we required a massive overhaul of absolutely everything. These things don't happen overnight. So let's be patient and get behind the team.

Yes the club cocked up massively by not signing a replacement fro Carroll but hopefully lessons have been learnt by all, and Brendan will not let this silly mistake happen again.
We have a highly promising squad with age on their side.

We have the nucleus of a very good team, what's apparant is were lacking a a top finisher up front. What ever money is available to the manager, and if that can be topped up by shipping unwanted players out,he should go after a top name,an established player, who can come in and hit the ground running.Whether or not a top name would sign for us at the moment is another matter, but i want to see a statment of intent.

If he can't run he ain't much of a striker !

Question Eds. What is the situation with Chicharito at United? I'm not suggesting that LFC is a possibly destination for him as I don't think those 2 teams would be able to do business together very well, but surely he has some teams interested in him as he can hardly get a game right now. He is the type of player that LFC could use in my opinion. Good finisher.

~Fresh {Ed001's Note - there is no situation, he just isn't getting in the team at the moment. It is felt he doesn't do enough for the team off the ball. Personally I think it is a consequence of their weakened midfield, they just can't afford a striker that isn't helping out a bit more on the defensive side and linking up play.}

Its very sad to see Liverpoool fans supporting Suarez when dives. He was a disgrace to his profession and the club on Sunday. Very, very, sad indeed.

I think if I'd been stamped on and constantly fouled without getting anything, I'd have been tempted to dive to get a penalty. Yes he's been guilty of it often, but over the past few games he'd been a lot better!

El Diablo!

Yeah he is the only player that ever dived catch a crip. bet they didnt stop chearing on ronaldo at utd was that as sad to c knob head.Tommy Irish Red

Should we stop cheering Gerrard? He has dived too.

Even Martin Samuel said while diving is distasteful why does English football ignore violent play? You are not likely to end somone's career by diving, think it was Danny Thomas a bright young footballing fullback at tottenham that was ended by a thuggish challenge by Gavin McGuire of qpr van bastens career was ended prematurely by bad challenges, who would you rather watch play van basten or vinny jones? We're wimbledon ever good for football?

Quick question to my fellow reds to lighten the mood, who do you think is going to have the biggest impact out of sterling, suso and wisdom this season.

I think all 3 of them are going to be top top players, but for the me i'd go for suso.I belive he will start hitting the back of the net very soon.

I think Sterling is likely to get more game time and so more likely to have the bigger impact.

I'm personally very pleasantly surprised at how well Suso has done. Although we all know how talented he is I thought he might need another year in reserves to become physically stronger.

Nevada

Suso is probably going to make the biggest impact.

Sterling 100%. Who else do we have to take his place?

Suso has been excellent, but we have others that can more or less do what he can and the same goes for Wisdom. But, Sterling doesn't really have any viable competition for his position.

Is it a coincidence that both liverpool and the red sox are both having probably there worst season that anyone can remember. Both teams were made to cut theire wage bills significantly, both sets of fans are seriously not happy, something is going to have to give.I belive they(fsg) cant afford to run both...

You don't think a multi billion pound consortium can run both?

Clearly you know nothing about baseball or the Red Sox. They spend a ton of money on players, Adrian Gonzalez being one, and they were not performing well, and worse creating a bad atmosphere in the locker room. So FSG cleaned house and traded away the bad contracts. To think that they will not go sign free agents this winter to replace those players, and bring their salary bill back up is wrong. The Red Sox generate a ton of revenue, probably second most behind the Yankees, and FSG can easily afford to run the team. Liverpool is another story. They are no where near the revenue levels of other top teams due to lack of Champions League etc. They are being prudent and trying to build young because they can't afford the big names like Falcao, nor could they get them. We are lucky FSG came along, otherwise we would be Rangers sitting in the lower leagues right now. Do people not understand how much damage Hicks did? Hicks owned three major sports franchises, Texas Rangers (bankrupt & sold), Dallas Stars (almost bankrupt & now sold),and Liverpool (almost bankrupt & sold). Give me FSG any day of the week.

Yeah i really dont think they can. It's taken them 2 years and we still havent had a decesion on whether to stay at anfield,or build a new stadium.

They cant afford to run both successfuly, just ask the red sox fans what they think of fsg. They'll be gone within 1 year

Fsg are taking a lot of flak, january will either make them,or break them in terms of there relationship with the fans.

Good news! No matter what FSG spend on the Red Sox this offseason, chronic banter-page complainers will have at least one quality complaining option. If FSG doesn't spend big on the Red Sox, then they obviously don't have any money and should sell LFC. If they DO spend big on the Red Sox, then they have money but they're spending it on the wrong club. Take note, complainers, and plot your complaining strategy early!

John CT

Liverpool need to invest in experienced players,not just youth players all the time.Fsg let a hell of a lot experienced players leave in the summer,without replacing them,thats why we aint doing to well.To top it off they let carroll go on deadline day,knowing he wasn't going to be replaced.They are doing nothing but cost cutting,sooner they leave the better. {Ed002's Note - You do realise that the transfers are not handled by the owners? There was every expectation that a deal would be done for Dempsey but in the end it did not happen.}

10 Oct 2012 14:38:29
Talk of the manager having around £40m to spend, maybe abit far fetched, but i do belive there is money to be spent in january. It just wouldn't make sense for our owners to leave us to struggle like this,as there investment would continue to take a hit.I belive we will see at least 3 new players in january, with a striker being the no 1 priority. Also when lucas returns,we will see joe allen pushed abit further up the pitch, making his doubters eat there words.

The new manager after Rodgers ?

10 Oct 2012 14:31:25
Alan shearer having a go at joe allen, why?.The lad has done really well since he signed, yet people are having a pop at him.He is a wonderful player, who makes the game look easy.Shearer is qutoed as saying he doesnt do enough risky passes,Im glad he doesnt play risky passes,as our game is about keeping the ball.Joe allen is playing a slightly different role due to lucas being injured,he can only pass to players who who put themself's in good positions.Show's what Shearer know's about football,it was probably these view's that got newcastle relegated.

10 Oct 2012 14:51:53
Alan shearer knows more about football than anybody on this site and is an geordie and england legend so how dare any of you slate the man, its Shearers opionion and he as forgot more about football than allen will ever know. {Ed001's Note - are you for real? Clearly you have never discussed football with Shearer if you think that! There is a reason why he is sat in the TV studios talking about footie rather than on a manager's bench somewhere. He has applied for just about every job going and never got one, for damn good reason.}

Haha like as done a great job at being de toooooooooons boss!!

I'm surprised you listened to Shearer at all, the guy has the most boring monotone voice and as soon as he opens his mouth I switch off.

Joe Allen does what he does best and moves the ball around creating spaces for his team mates.

Red Raw

Sorry but gerrard and Sahin and the ones that are supposed to play the risky passes and they did a terrible job at that against stoke, especially gerrard. Joe Allen is DM cover and just has to keep the game flowing and not lose the ball, exactly what he does. Why doesn't shearer have a look at his fellow Englishmen Steven gerrards performances.

If shearer didnt know football how would he convert passes into goals, he is right about joe allen, passing a ball is easy, adding risk and making a sucessful pass wid penetration is the key, joe allen might take time but right now i am wid alen shearer on this.

redh0t {Ed001's Note - you seem to have mixed up knowledge with natural ability. Shearer had natural ability at the game, but he has little knowledge of it.}

Who cares what al has to say about a liverpool player,His opinion really doesn't count.

Top player(shearer) crap manager, even worse pundit.Anyone thinking of giving him another shot at management, need there heads looking at.

Like man there must dozens of midfielders having worse seasons than allen lets for instance take way aye carrick crap cleverley crap most of newcastles mid imo are not playing as well as last year so f--k you shearer allen is doing ok and will only get even better.Tommy Irish Red

I like shearer but he is compleatley wrong on joe allen, trouble with shearer is he goes on about english players so much, how great they are and nobody can touch them, i guarantee if allen was english he wouldnt be able to praise him enough, take for instance cleverley, same sort of player as allen, my opinion nowhere near as good as allen either, but shearer cant praise him enough, makes out hes always looking for the ball, always playing it simple and available and always dictating the tempo of the game, exactly the same as joe allen but joe just does it so much better and the difference been joe allen is welsh and and cleverely is english

Now that the internationals are here let's all gather our thoughts and feelings it's quite clear from decisions from refs comments from the rags and even muppets from uefa that they show a clear disliking to our club. So I would suggest we start to harness all this negative energy towards us and turn it into a siege mentality situation . You know us v the world type.so to all our true amazing fans lets start steeling ourselves to supporting our great team.every player who is chosen to play for us really want to do the best for us, so can we get behind every single player.to all 40,000 fans lucky to have a ticket ,turn up an sing your hearts out wether it's reading or everton,if not can you pass your tickets along because there's another 50 odd thousand who would love to be yous.come on reds lets hear it from first minute to last. Make the noise our players respond to,and let's show everyone outside of this club we are Liverpool football club with the greatest football fans in the world.

Floug y n w a

Couldn't agree with you more. Literally how many others have dived and made a fool out of themseleves and as soon as Suarez does it they contemplate banning him? Huth and van persie assault other players and get off easy. I can't tell you how many players I see slide tackling worse than shelvey but he gets a red card and they get yellow. Firstly why has football become a cowardly sport in he first place, I play Sunday league and its more physical than the EPL. Money truly kills the subject. Football is no exception.

10 Oct 2012 15:24:38
As I posted on Monday I was fortunate to get a mates ticket for the match on Sunday, first time for a while, and I thought the atmosphere was very poor indeed. There wasnt a hint of the famous 12th man. How times have changed.

You two are both a pair of arrogant chappies, Mikey and particularly Chris. Says it all really when you type 'not often your wrong' next to what you write, come on just tell us all its a banter page yawn. That makes me laugh Rodgers a snake oil salesman, is it or is it not you Chris who comes on here telling everyone about some wonderful businesses deal you're up to not once but quite a few times, you are the oilly one. And Mikey who makes these sweeping statement's and soundbites just to sound the part. Its no problem, you stick to wanting to sign a guy who can't even get in Villa's team. Pair of you two jog on, Liverpool dont need part time fair weather fans like yous.
JohnBoy

So constantly telling everyone about some businesses deal on a regular basis ain't oily no?
Nothing to do with Liverpool, but its 'look at me aren't I clever'. Other people on here own/run businesses but don't have to shout from the roof tops what state its in every week. Hypocrisy is in the air again with the man from Tamworth.

Have Faith! Even Shanks never achieved overnight success. The great Emlyn Hughes whom Shanks signed had to wait over 5 seasons for his first trophy with Liverpool.

Chris, the way you talk, smells of small town salesman!

Hi Nevada, fair question, I don't think it's anything specific I just get the feeling that he's talking in cliches a lot of the time and that he often talks for the sake of it and uses a lot of words to say not very much.
He can definitely talk the talk now we need to see what comes next

Chris in Tamworth

I said "not often I'm wrong" in my original post with tongue firmly in cheek, I have posted on here about a business deal I've got going on but not to be arrogant, rather looking for advice because I'm not arrogant enough not to realise it won't be easy. It seems however that you don't want to hear it so I won't mention it again, sorry.
I was only giving my thoughts on BR

Chris in Tamworth

I will continue to support the team! And reserve judgement till the end of the season...

I can kind of agree with you a little Chris. He does talk quite a bit in Cliches but is there anybody in the sport of football that doesn't? I actually believe they hand out a big book of cliches to anybody associated with the sport, even business executives in the sport do it.

Your concerns are understandable but the only thing I would say is give him at least until christmas before judging him, even Woy got that long. Thanks for the reply Chris.

Id rather win the title in 3-5 years than say...er..never.. People need some patience we are Liverpool after all..and simply buying success doesn't actually mean a thing..and harnessing our talented youth will evidently bring rewards.. Sometimes its not about just about winning - its about doing the right thing..
Karma chameleon

Exactly mate I think our fans need to look forward 3-5 years like you say.
In 3 years Stirling will be 20 and shelvey will be 23. This squad of ours is for the future.

MIKEY

If Stirling carries on developing, then he will join a big club like Chelsea by the time he's 20 :-)

OsgoodIsKing

Then again, the owners really made us look bad in the transfer market. I mean you make the manager get rid of one of our senior strikers and not back it up when you said you would. All we needed was 4milll more and they didn't give in. I've never been on these owners backs but they have to redeem themseleves in jan if they dot way the 'OUT' chants to start.

To above poster:

I'm happy with how responsibly they run the club. Dempsey was never worth the asking price, an overrated player anyway whom everyone seems to think is Zidane and only because we didn't get him. A 29 year old attacker with only one good year of goalscoring was never going to solve our problems

Nevada

Chelsea have Hazard, Marin n De Bruyne who can play on the wings, n they r all young. I do not see them bidding for sterling no matter how good he turns out to be.
Indian Buzzer

The other side of that coin is that Suarez,Gerrard,Agger,Johnson,Skyrtel will be well gone in 3/5 yrs? So while I agree we have to be patient. Next season is enough patience and we should be in the top 4? Otherwise?

As a fan from back in the days of the 2nd division it grieves me to see the position our beloved club is in but we need to get real about a number of things:

1 The present situation is the result of mismanagement at all levels of the club for over a decade. Inflated transfer fees for inadequate players; too generous contracts; poor commercial exploitation and financing verging on the fraudulent. There are encouraging signs that this has been recognised and addressed but will not be corrected overnight.
2 We can talk about the net spend of KK/DC till the cows come home but the fact remains that however funded the £70m spent on AC/SD/JH now has a real value of £15M? This loss has to be accounted for by the club. It is not a simple case of inconsequential bookkeeping; it is a real loss which together with the costs incurred in termination of expensive contracts is a real financial burden to the club and its owners. I for one do not blame the owners for any hesitation in recruiting "marquee" signings so swiftly after this fiasco.
3 I yield to no-one in my admiration for KK and what he has done for the club as a player, manager and ambassador but this does not mean I should be blind to failures. KK achieved much in his second coming: stabilisation of the club at a difficult and frankly embarrassing time; clearing out players who were simply not up to standard and saving substantial sums on wages. There were signs at the back end of his first spell that his judgment of the worth and merit of players was dubious; names do not need to be mentioned and both the choice and price paid for some of the recruits last year were glaringly questionable. We can blame DC if we want for the prices paid but presumably KK chose the players.
4 The Suarez situation last season was quite unbelievably badly handled and cost the club financially, reputationally and on the field. Whether we like it or not there is a PC agenda being followed by the FA and the club need to return to the position of washing dirty linen in private. We can be paranoid about the media and other clubs if we want but I want the manager of Liverpool to focus on motivating his players to destroy opponents on the field and not to engage in public slanging matches with the media and other managers. Let them say what they want and we should do the talking on the field the way we used to. I am convinced that Rafa's tirade against Fergie cost us the title. We had just beaten Newcastle 5-0 away were top of the league and Rafa let Fergie's mind games get to him.
5 Football clubs have always been businesses; it's the dynamics which have changed. Clubs used to be run by local businessmen like Sid Reakes and Tom Williams but in those days the chief source of income was gate receipts; there was little corporate and tv trade. Now they are global and the financial figures are gargantuan. There are two main consequences which flow from this. Firstly the relationship with the fans has inevitably become diluted. Commercial exploitation of grounds; shirts; hospitality and image rights has mushroomed to the detriment of the interests of fans. Secondly the need to run the businesses commercially has become paramount. As in any business spending money has to provide value in terms of a pay back and fans need to understand that our interests may not always be the same as the commercial interests of the club. For example from a purely business point of view there is not a strong financial case for spending money on players with the intention of moving from 2nd or 3rd in the league to 1st. The financial reward from winning the league are not much greater now that entry to the Champions League extends to 4th (or 5th in Chelsea's case). We fans want the title but there is no real financial benefit from it and spending money to move from 2nd to first is more an act of faith than an investment an in business acts of faith are not common.
6 The CFC and MCFC situations are unrepresentative and are always vulnerable to the loss of interest and withdrawal and therefore should not be seen as the ideal. Up to 2008 there was a feeling within the economy that the good times would go on forever and the banking crisis brought that to an abrupt end. What has happened since has been a rebalancing and my fear is that this could very easily happen within football. The football club business model is inherently unsustainable and an external shock such as the withdrawal or retrenchment of Sky could have a similar effect to the banking crisis and therefore sensible, professional and sustainable management is the only real way forward and sensible fans will be prepared to understand this.
Sorry for the length.

Best post i have read in a while, just how i feel. Its hard to sit and read posts constantly slating areas of our club, be it players, owners or even fans.

Truly excellent post with well reasoned and stated talking points. It will, hopefully, give heart to true LFC Supporters that there is an end goal and we are working towards it if given some time to straighten the ship and prepare it for the voyage.

Sadly, your wonderful post with probably fly either over the head or straight through the ears without stopping in the brain of most of the naysayers on here.

Brilliant post ....... can we have a name , please ?

The author of this post would make a fantastic P.R. man for the club. Kudos to you. YNWA

Most sensible post on here I've seen in a while. Good on you, mate.

Suarez is an absolute disgrace for inventing diving and throwing our beautiful and honest game into disrepute. He should therefore be punished by death before other people catch in and start diving.

Woops too late!

Suarez is a cheating rat and as for him moaning about getting roughed up a bit i bet he never moaned about biting a players ear off in Holland or surprise surprise i bet you lot forgot about that, so is he not a thug to them i bet you lot say no and defend him.

10 Oct 2012 13:26:59
Is Tom Daley a free agent?

10 Oct 2012 13:28:45
Quite agree. He is a disgrace and the sooner we get rid of him the better. He is making our wonderful club hated by other supporters. GET RID ASAP.

And the way he attacked Robert Huth's studs with his chest was disgraceful. Should be banned for that, Huth is lucky his sole wasn't hurt.

Suarez may as well dive as he gets no other decisions even when there blatent penelties. If he could only throw on a Man Utd shirt when he is in the box then the penelties would follow.
MarkB

You guys need to chill. I agree that his dive was disgraceful BUT Luis is not a disgrace. I know some fans would understand why he did it. Did you guys see the initial foul on him before he dived? Did you guys even notice the fouls on him that were not given on that day and on previous matches? I agree sometimes Luis can exaggerate/fall down with the slightest of touches BUT ask yourselves why all the hating from the media, supporters from other clubs and our own?? I dont see that with Bale, Ronaldo, Young, Valencia etc. Peace. ZA13

Football is full of divers, just get over it!

Since when did Suarez complain about getting roughed up? He doesn't tweet 'look how I get treated when all eyes are on me'. Some of you are seriously blind. Quality player, he never invented diving you ignorant person. People were tossing and turning long before him. Drogba? Seriously some people need an education.

Invented it??

Anyone heard of sarcasm, over your head it goes.

Jürgen Klinsmann, the biggest diver ever!
TheJazz

No, it is Suarez. Tony Pulis said so.

And Pulis run's a very clean and technical side, so he knows a lot of how to play football without cheating. How dare Suarez attack Huth's foot! /sarcasm

I don't know what effect it would have but I think Rodgers (or even Suarez) should come out and defend Suarez and show that, actually, he isn't that bad (there are certainly much worse) and that he isn't the only one.

To all the people who want br and fsg out. Who do you want to replace them? Some people want rafa back. Who in my mind lost the plot in the last season. As for owners who is out there? Ive not got a clue. I think we should stick with what we got for the time being. Give br all our support. Remember if he sacked tomorrow he still got the same players to work with. Warr68

So apparently Rodgers is going to be given a £40m kitty for the January transfer market. I personally would not risk giving him 40 quid after he spent almost £17m on Joe Allen.

U really havent got a clue.... joe allen is a savage gifted player, he can pass, tackle, shoot, tracks back, 15 million as a bargain.. i personally will pay u 40 quid not to post garbage on this site... now vent over... cheers.. lfc 4 life

Why is it that every player we are linked with has to be young fit the the conditions of fsg.
We have to many young players we need experienced players.
Brendan must have no say at all.
Remember gary Macca. Hardly a spring chicken but one of our best signings of the past 20 years.
Forget young and must fit the bill we need experience and we neef it now.
Marker

Couldn't agree more. I like FSG's focus on the future but you need a blend of experience along with all the young talent. An experienced, proven goal scorer would help our short term situation as well benefiting players like Borini and Suarez and our exceptional young forwards who have started breaking through.

Chally

Well FSG did fork out last year for 2 players who were in their mid-late 20's and both voted player of the year for their teams.

One of them had been to a Europa league final a couple of years before that and both players were full internationals.

Downing and Adam. Being older, does not mean better.

The problem I have with the diving issue/Stoke s****y is that they have made out that its only Suarez that EVER dives. I'm sure Stoke have never 'conned' a ref or broken the rules in 'their own special way'. What about Utd the other week against Wigan , Blatant dive penalty awarded. The key difference to this incident was that Welbeck was awarded a penalty and Wigan manager Martinez is fined for speaking out!!! Pulis shouts his mouth off after the game , gets away with it ????

Before managers groan on about this they should have a long think and get their own houses in order first.

The Stoke game was like watching a rugby team play a football team. Huth should have been sent off for the BLATENT stamp on Luis and for the 'treatment' he received throughout the match!!! Weak ref and a whole bunch of Hypocrisy!!!

In addition to my above post its time the English media stopped victimising Luis Suarez , to amplify my point HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO DIVES/DIVED. If they want to address the issue then it should be to all clubs and not just LIVERPOOL FC.

Luis , If you ever read this just smash in a hatful of goals and silence the haters!!
YNWA , As long as you are red.

Pulis was giving Criuch praise the other week for him getting away with a blatant handball. That is cheating. The thug Robert Huth stamping on Suarez is cheating. Stoke are acting as they are the most honest team in the world, when they are a bunch of hatchet men, going out to seriously harm their opponents. Remember the Shawcross tackle on Aaron Ramsey? Bunch of thugs.

The FA and double standards , nothing new as they are in Fergies pocket. (Sorry Fergie's mafia pocket)

If we swapped Suarez for Young would would change at OT and the FA?

10 Oct 2012 10:37:06
Guys reality is Liverpool is a massive club with midtable squad its going to take lots of years to be where we all want. Nor do we have owners who can change our squad over night. We need to except midtable for few years in order to progress its a long journey where we will lose our best players on the way and buy some. As fans we need to support Liverpool fc in order to smoother our transition rather then make it difficult. Liverpool Fc needs your support more then ever
Thanks

The support will always be there as we can see what is going on. New style , new manager having to undo the wrongs of the past. Should have been backed more during the summer transfer window though but I think FSG now realise this.

We certainly don't have a mid table first team, it's a top 6 team with everyone on form. I suppose the squad is a little limited to be relying on youth etc, but if the youth is good enough then surely that makes us a side with strong potential?

Papa G

The squad is good, certainly good enough for top 6. They just need time, dont forget they are new players, playing a new formation, with new tactics and a new manager. That doesnt gel in 7 games. Takes longer than that.

The more I watch the Suarez dive on Sunday the more embarrassed I am. How can a player do this? Something must be done. Agree?

10 Oct 2012 11:55:05
How can a player like Young do it so regularly. Or Welbeck and Bale try and horrifically con referees. It is not just Suarez, no matter what the media try to potray.

P.S. Did you see Bale, it looked more like a goal celebration than a dive.

Jolly Red

Ok so he dived but remember just before he dived he was clipped and had every right to go over and claim a penalty but the fact is he didn't. Several incidents occured over the weekend which where far worse than a dive! But because you so called fans listen to commentators and the media you are taken in....form your own opinion and lay off Suarez!

The more i watch suarez get the s**t kicked out him sunday the more i feel for the guy, something must be done. Agree?

The problem is that everyone conveniently fails to realise that he doesn't do it nearly as much as he used to and, indeed, as much as he could (where other supposedly more 'honourable' players would have gone down)! There are numerous times where he has taken a hit and not gone down to continue his run. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that those situations FAR outnumber those when he dives/goes down. There are worst divers in the Premier League, but obviously they don't play for Liverpool and so won't face the rap for it. Like we've all been saying, no one pays attention to other things such as Huth's barbaric stamp, or the countless penalty decisions that have gone against us in the past weeks because of biased referees using our man's reputation over judging the individual event.

Is it surprising that Ashley Young is not facing the same wrath? Of course not, no, in fact his dives actually win penalties whereas our legitimate penalties don't even get a look in. And he plays for United...

ChrisMiz

It was frustration bourn out of getting a kicking throughout the match and getting nothing from a weak ref.

Yes it was a dive, but I'm more bothered that for the last couple of weeks, Suarez has been kicked, elbowed and stamped on for 90 minutes without a referee giving him any protection at all. He is going to get seriously injured if the refs don't clamp down on it.

10 Oct 2012 10:17:15
The only way to stop all this diving is to deduct points. Fines are useless. If points were deducted then managers and owners would really clamp down on the players who dive. I personally am disgusted that Rodgers has not come out and said he will have to have words with Suarez about his diving.

10 Oct 2012 11:33:49
Could not agree more. Deduct points then they will most definately stop diving.

Oh yeah , just like all the other managers do????!!!

Believe me theirs a lot more in the world and society in general to be disgusted about then BR not having a public word with Suarez. You've not got a clue what if owts been said behind closed doors.
JohnBoy

Why would he come out and say it which wud affect Suarez when he could just have a word with him in private more than likely he already has

10 Oct 2012 10:02:48
The whole diving issue is nothing new, what is talk-worthy is the context in how it is occurring now. Stevie G has done a few dives in his career, I remember one for England where he won a pen, and it was so obvious but know one remembers. It is about faith in referees which many players have lost when it comes to these decisions. If a player knows simulation will earn them a free kick/pen, and if they do nothing and there is a higher chance nothing will happen - what do you do? Flawed officiating. This is where Luis has problems with at the moment.

His ability is outrageous, and he is a joy to watch. But with our current setup and all the play in the final 3rd going through him, his game needs to adapt to avoid this constant label as a 'diver'. Not adapt his football style he is a nutmeg king, but his reactions to contact and what happens afterwards needs work on. Unfortunately he's dug himself a bit of a hole with his reputation, but if he's smart this can be overcome.

This may sound strange, but I would bring in specialist coaches, and sit him down for hours with videos of his incidents about contact and going down. Maybe a former referee, to show him what current refs' thought processes are when contact is made in challenges. This should not be part of football, but this is where the egos within the game has taken us.

Refs are now stuck in a certain way of thinking, the head of referees admitted this to the Reading manager recently saying how they didn't appeal enough for the Torres offside goal earlier this season... this is now how they see the game. It's not right, but can't do much about it. They take into account the whole player's reactions and situation and not just on the incident. So Suarez needs to be smart with his actions, because right now I don't see him ever being given an important decision again.

Get him to read his game better for the PL, he would then learn how what happened against Stoke will not happen again. I'm not saying he should dive at will at all, but in big games where referees are massively influenced by player reactions and player reputations, if he is legitimately being fouled and needs to go down, do it correctly. Torres didn't do this well either when all the play went through him, and its important for LFC to manage this correctly.

I fear if this issue doesn't get sorted now, it will seriously disrupt our whole season. Suarez is an immense player, but with guidance on English officiating and the correct body language with decision-making, it would improve his rep and most importantly, get LFC the decisions we deserve rightly, so what happened at Norwich with no penalty being given never happens again. That was down to solely player reputation, and with the current footy climate, instead of having a go at stubborn refs we should outsmart them. Stevie G does it well on occasions, now its time for Luis to step up and be our smart and deadly No.7. RC

10 Oct 2012 12:01:29
So the best thing to do is sit Suarez down with specialist coaches, and perhaps a former referee, and show him how to dive properly, or cheat properly? He should be sat down by his bosses and told DO NOT DO IT AGAIN, IT IS CHEATING!

So essentially teach Suarez to dive effectively is what you're saying? Personally he has enough ability to score goals and make a positive impact without trying to con anyone.

Papa G

It's not about cheating, its not about 'diving properly', its about making sure that when contact is made he reacts appropriately and not so excessively. Whether that is natural or not doesn't matter any more because referees don't see it that way now. It's not cheating its part of the game now and it has been for years, people need to realise the difference between a 'dive' and simulation. A dive is cheating the ref and Luis is ill advised to do this, simulation is what happens when contact is made and the reaction from that. Stamp out diving, get the simulation right and get the balance right between the two. RC {Ed001's Note - that is the most embarrassingly ridiculous comment I can remember reading ever. Ludicrous! It would be better to just give up on footie altogether. Let's just act fairly and improve the standards of referees, not cheat better.}

How come nobody gives a s**t when players like bale, young etc dive zero news coverage for that, thats whats disgusting.but then again no team gives high television ratings like liverpool i guess.

^^^^^^ AGREE WITH THIS STRONGLY!!!

Double standards by the FA and UK media!!!!

I may be digging myself a hole I feel, but I'm sure I've got a valid point. Refereeing has changed recently, they do not judge on the tackle or contact, they judge more on the player, mannerisms, other players, reactions all before the actual incident (if its difficult to decide straight away). This has been admitted when Brian McDermott said how his players were told they didn't make a big a deal enough of Torres's offside goal, and because of that nothing happened (when it was clearly offside).

Right at the top of the game the egos of referees are impacting on the decisions they make too. So when contact is made, 'if it looks good enough' then a decision will be given in favour. This is what I mean about the no cheating bit. I would recommend Suarez be smarter and go about his football but when it comes to the big contact, learn and go down in the right way which can be slightly exaggerated if needed, but all because that is what referees make decisions from now - and a bit of coaching with this couldn't go a harm. Not 'play-acting' to fall, but just react in a way the referee thinks for a decision. He's made of paper anyway so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Acting fairly doesn't win matches these days, how many times has someone been truthful with contact and they haven't gone down/got a decision, and its benefitted the team. I'm all for sportsmanship, but Suarez plays in a way where no-one will give him any benefit of the doubt (mostly his own fault), so he should adapt to change his thinking and actions in this way. Its a rotten system when you've been labelled, but you have to work your way around it not through it. I've probably not made much sense to others and will get slated, but it makes sense to me. End. RC

Doni is not in the 2012/13 squad photo on the Liverpool website. What has happened to him? And who is most likely to be added to the squad in January?

Doni has been kidnapped by Roman

He will soon be unveiled to replace
Petr Cech

Don't tell anyone its a seret

Sour Puss

Doni has not even been in Europe since mid June , the reason for his absence will be revealed in due course , if any of the editors on here know they are keeping very quiet , and rightly so .

Doni has been given extended leave for personal reasons.

Wow...The hypocrisy in football is so astounding that nothing anyone involved in the game says anymore has any credibility whatsoever. Now we have a FIFA vice president jumping on the bandwagon and crusading against the "cancer in football".What a soundbite by the way!! What this shows is that the real cancer in football is the governing bodies themselves who are too spineless to rid the game of straight forward cheating whether its diving, stamping, balls crossing the line, play acting, verbal abuse, gaining yards on free kicks and throw ins, pulling shirts and any other sort of advantage that the players seem to want to routinely gain by cheating. What are they so afraid of ? Is it that if the game didn't have all these histrionics that no one would watch the games or talk about them ? Or is it simply that they wouldn't have a job if they just got on with it and brought in technology. By bringing in technology it would rid the game of any doubt and acrimony towards the so called pantomime villains ie the ref's. Once again everyone is up in arms because Senor Suarez is getting away with cheating. We all know that this stems from his world cup antics in SA and no one has really forgiven him. His reputation now preceeds him and will haunt him forever, wherever he goes. But he is by no means the ringleader or head honcho in this category, I'm sure the Irish are still anti french and we are definitely still anti argie. My point is that until the sport rids itself of cheating the sport is guilty of hubris and therefor will lose support and credibility in the long run. Can someone please sort out my beloved sport and return it to some degree of respectability..... Tobiwan YNWA

The solution is NOT technology. Football is popular because of the passion and debate surrounding minor injustices and close decisions that define matches. Take that away by introducing technology and we would have all the passion of a game of hockey. The day they introduce fairness governed by hi-tech adjudication is when supporters, myself included, will stop watching the game.

cozinoz

Rather than write this here Tobiwan, why not send it to FIFA and copied to the FA, you never know you might get a result, although I wouldn't hold your breath! Most of us feel the same and maybe include the inconsistency in the refereeing decisions that happen in our sport.

Keith

I agree with you Tobiwan, but Suarez is not getting away with cheating. We have not had a penalty all season but should have had at least three. That is no excuse for his dive. No real attention has been given to the Bale dive or other incidents of previous weeks. I can remember the Francis Lee dives of the 70's nothing happened then and now 40 years later it is a cancer!

10 Oct 2012 12:56:20
I hear what your saying cozinoz but that is my veiled point whithin my comment. You can't have it both ways. Either football is or it isn't a moral compass for the youth. If it isn't then the governing bodies and the press should stop making out it is... Tobiwan

10 Oct 2012 08:06:05
I have a problem with the whole diving saga now. It's obvious the rules need revising and action to be taken, either instantly or retrospectively, against any offender in order to eliminate it from the game.

The problem I have it that it is obvious players are going to go down to gain an advantage, especially if their is contact. If they don't go down then they won't get a penalty/freekick even if they deserve one. If they do go down they get labelled a cheat even if a foul was committed. I was playing Sunday league football (admittedly the difference in skill factors and referees abilities are different) but I was in the box and was looking for a shot on goal, I got clipped but stayed up to get my shot away. I was off balance and ended up hitting it wide and all my teammates where furious I didn't go down. I thought the advantage would be from having a shot however I misjudged the situation. The referee turned round and said that if I hit the deck I'd have got a penalty. How is that promoting staying on your feet? I feel that refs should give penalties and freekicks if there is any infringment and not just if they fall down. Would that not allow players to try and stay on their feet, have a chance to score, and if it fails then the ref can bring it back for no advantage and award the freekick/penalty?

Sorry for the long post, it was just a thought that I'd love to see the views of other posters?

Thanks.
MattH

Spot on post.

Introducing competent referees would solve a lot of problems.

Ed , the owners want to implement a model like ajax or dortmund of buying top quality youth for the cheapest possible price and have good resale value..
So, have we looked into any such players that we could get for less than a million and within 2-3 years their values would sore 6-7 times ..
Dortmund got kagawa, barrios, lewandowski , porto got hulk,Falcao, rodriguez , benfica, ajax etc they all do the same..
Apart from Marco Bueno are we signing anyone for the academy or first team squad ? {Ed002's Note - Of course, Yesil, Teixeira etc.}

Ibe, Sinclair, Sterling, Suso, all of these players joined aged 14-16 or something. None of them are from Liverpool and all of them were signed as future first team members. Most of those in the youth squad that aren't Scousers have been bough like those lads.

Has rodgers got a 40 mil budget for january ?

Why do Liverpool fans do this to themselves in every window? We have a £40m budget, we are getting David Villa, we are getting Christian Eriksen blah blah blah. You must have a very short memory if you cannot remember what happened on transfer deadline day. January is a time where usually only Chelsea will spend in Europe, it's a hard time to spend as there isn't many players available and their valuations are extortionate. January is also still in the same financial year as the summer so if there wasn't any cash left in the summer, there will unlikely be any in January. I think a loan move for striker is far more realistic and the spending will be done in the summer or perhaps a bunch more loans.

Disney!

10 Oct 2012 10:14:30
£40m eh? That should pick up a bargain or two at M&S for Mrs R.

First time ever I have agree with yer man above

Why do LFC fans (apert from me I understand FSG are broke) do that to themselves

FSG have proven they will not be spending Roman like so why keep the torture of buying superstars in the transfer window going forward

FSG aren't broke, in fact they are very wealthy, not oil Sheikh wealthy, but still rich. They have the money to spend but are much less frugal of it than they were 2 summers ago, probably because of the Carroll, Henderson, Downing price sagas. If they see fit to spend on a player, they will (like Allen), though everyone admits it was a mistake to let Dempsey slip away.

Apparently we are looking at trying to bring in Alvaro Pereira on loan in January with a view to a permanent move. This would see the end of Enrique and he could go back up to Newcastle or, more than likely back home to Spain. Patrick Aubameyang is being looked at as a solution to our striking issues, but Rodgers' no. 1 target is Theo Walcott. Doni, Enrique, Cole & Downing all hopeful to leave in January then, Pereira, Aubameyang and a winger, possibly Tello on loan to join in January.

He just moved to inter last summer

Maybe because Liverpool fans have some respect for the sport. Suarez dives but he also doesn't get the right decisions called his way. It probably frustrates Liverpool supporters more because when he does dive we do not get a penalty/freekick. When the players from the other team dive they end up getting something that will aid there team. In Suarez's case, I believe it better for him to stay on his feet as he will be able to provide us with a goal scoring chance instead of going down in the box and getting nothing. Don't forget, diving is part of the game these days, its sad but its the truth.

BADGER

In no way am I condoning what he did on Sunday and I agree he should stay on his feet more, but my point is I'm not going to villefy him for diving like some supporters do on this site.

Lets say the next time he dives, he gets a penalty, the penalty is scored are those fans who have taken the moral high ground on this issue not going to celebrate? I think we all know the answer to that one! {Ed001's Note - I don't celebrate a goal scored like that, it spoils it for me.}

Better style AT TIMES from young kids. But whether under KK or BR-onion bag!! Plan for future great, but if we cant win our home games were in the s it! Years ago Lfc sides had enough leaders on the pitch to sweep negative, dirty carp like stoke. There has to be plan a,b,and c. But we cant beat sides like them cos we aint got leaders,(Souey,Kenny,Case,Terry Mac etc) or goalscorers. Long term plans fine if you have players who can win games. We have to win at home or come winter.injuries, size of squad we'll be in long term s it.No matter how easy on eye....... And whats stadia situ? Also untrue the witch hunt v Suarez kicked all day. But help yourself fella, you dived once-and they couldnt wait. There seems to be a lot of anti LFC feeling. Dont give them cause. Cos they ignore facts in our favour

We as a club are going nowhere fast, let face it we have no money to move forward as quickly as we all would like. It's depressing, and i know people say keep the faith but can anyone honestly see us challenging the top teams anytime soon,as i cant.

Mate reality is we are a massive club with midtable team will take lots of years to be where we want forget about top teams we even can't compete against teams like spurs or newcastle. Nor do we have owners who will change our team overnight. Its a long journey where we will lose some of our best players on the way and buy some. Till then will have to settle for midtable in order to progress. Fans are very important to liverpool fc so support in order to smoother our transition. Liverpool fc needs you more then ever thanks

Yes we dont have hundreds of millions to spend on proven "marquee" players but we we will have to run the team like dortmund an produce class youngsters i.e sterling, suso, shelvey, kelly, wisdom, etc and hope they become world beaters as they take on BR's pholosophies which has seen us dominate and play great in only a handful of games and 1 transfer window...no one likes seeing our club lose but BR has done a great job clearing out the average players and bringing in technically gufted players and will need a few windows to make his team his own. I believe we'll get there but it will take time, you now have a choice to make;

1) support the team

2) support another team

The choice is yours.

The moaners here will hardly say a thing without mention to other clubs. How can u reasonably say a team that won the Champions League by fair play, the same team that outplayed u for the most part of 90mins and won the FA cup, played average football? U're entirely clueless and delusional, as u dnt f***ing know every game has diff tactics, and what matters in d end is winning. And u moan abt BR deploying same tactics every game! Less I forget, that 'worldclass team that played average football' was built some 8yrs ago and achieved a lot within such period, playing great. I bet u'll cry this term bcos wit less than the over 100m pounds u spent last season, we r doing better, and playing better too. Maybe the moaning and trolling is bcos u assembled a team of overhyped bunch of gabbage that couldn't last a season, typically following suit this season wit average but exhorbitant purchases, and u expect to b up there wit d best. Why can't u tell urself some truth? Behave urself and be reasonable for once.

Forget the stupid rumours about alexis sanchez coming to anfield, aint ever going to happen. We couldnt even stump up the extra 2m needed to sign dempsey. We have no money,no champions league, struggling team it all adds up to mid table Obscurity.

Sad, but true!.

Hi edd, I have tried searching for players who are free to join anytime but can't find anything, can you send some names who are available now on a bosman.

Thanks

Are the owners worried about the fans reactions, hence why we havent seen them at anfield.

Maybe they can't afford the flights.

This whole thing against Suarez is ridiculous!? He got stamped on and for the last 3 weeks in a row he's actually had blatant penalties?! People said he dived but he had contact he went down fair enough a bit to easily then after thought I'm not gonna get the ball I might as well go down aint like they were gonna give him a penalty anyway! Never seen a player more picked on then Suarez tbh good thing he has the best club and supporters in the world behind him as well as him being strong minded! Love Suarez what a character

Londonred

Ever since Evra affair the football 'establishment' seems determined to drive him out of England.
