I really want coutinho to hit his form the nxt week and stay consistant. He has so much of talent.could be our very own david silva.hope dat sturridge abd he forges together to give us some magical football .heres for hoping.

Once Phil hits a consistent patch, he will be outstanding.

He plays best with Studge. Links up brilliantly. Even better than he ever did with Suarez IMO

Come On

Our own David Silva, Natural Left foot, Skillfull and intellegent footballer is off to Milan end of the season.

Coutninho is a different player to Silva.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think Coutinho has suffered because of the Sturridge injury too. As has the team.

There has been a real lack of movement up top down to formation and playing 1 striker. Which suits nobody especially Cou. He likes to play through balls into space. 1 and 2 touch give and go's and supporting the strikers. He'll get that again soon hopefully and start to shine again.

Needs to work on his finishing though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boom why is there not a load of teams knocking down Liverpools door in the Summer for "the next Silva"? Surely at about £5 million its a snip. Every top team would benifit with a Silva type player in their team! Was it Porto that didn't want to take the chance?

Yes Dezy, The same Suso who broke into first team 2 seasons ago and immediately loaned out to gain experience and now on the verge of selling him.

The Same Suso, Who was in the " OUR FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT " Elite list 2 seasons ago when posters here were dying for him to mark his mark.

The Very same Suso who didn't start 10 successive game for the club and others ( BR's Fav ) gets a game every time they are fit.

The Suso, Unfortunately has a goal in his account, when some crowd fav are missing sitters after sitters.

In an year time, The name SUSO would then change to another promising youngster. Might be IBE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack, I`m not a know t all and I respect your opinion. The prob with your post is that it focuses on who Huntelaar WAS and not what he IS now which i old and slow. Shaquir lows hot and is not consistent enough IMO. Even the Ed agrees with me on this so i`m not alon on this. You can want who you want BUT it has to have logic behind your opinion. I don`t dwell on what people did in the past because as a former athlete, NOBODY CARES. It`s what you`re doing now and atm, Huntelaar and Shaquiri are not what we need. I will not tell you ow to support the team but at least have some logic behind what you post instead.

P/S: Name-calling is not a way of making your pont. It just shows your level of maturity (or lack thereof).

I wonder on International breaks what Brendan tells the players, does he say those that want a break can take 1 or those that want to stay a train can because if so I think its telling us a lot about certain players, take Balotelli staying behind doing extra work playing practice matches which has surprised me, then you have Enrique who first chance he gets is off to dubai on another holiday and considering he hasn't played football for a year and his performance in basel you would think he should be staying back and playing these practice matches, extra training and not only that showing the manager he's hungry and commited to the cause, its not like he's tired and needs a rest. Says a lot about his atitude, imo

Believable8 Unbelievable1

This is crap, stop standing up for balo for no reason, he walks away in warm up to go back inside, and is laughed at by his team mates.
You have 0 idea about the work jose has done behind the scenes to get fit again after a complete knee reco
If you'd have bothered to watch the basel match after the first 10 mins, youd have seen JE play well, he struggled vs the pace originally but began to read his opposite well and start to get forward.

Agree1 Disagree4

Btw imagine that, balo getting a holiday for free in brazil where his team doesn't make it past the group and he gets critisized for his effort, and JE spends the summer getting fit.

Agree1 Disagree2

Or maybe he knows he a dead man walking.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Oct 2014 06:09:48
Imagine if Ballo was signed by Chelsea or City. We would have already ripped him off by now.

I don't get this one. How could a player suddenly become different just because We signed him.
Hillarious.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chill out Bob. Jesus. How is that productive?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Oct 2014 13:23:54
Bob how do you know what Enrique did to get fit or how much effort he put in, he had to get fit again because that's his job which he gets paid a lot of money for and who's defending Balotelli, simply pointing out the facts Enrique is in dubai and Balotellis in melwood. So as you say Balotellis a joke does'nt say much for enrique then if he's putting more hours in

Agree0 Disagree0

I know what JE did to get fit, because I simply go on the liverpool website and see what they put on their facebook page.
Mario had a big break after the world cup, didn't go back to ac milan for training.
This was just such a quite frankly tripe post

I think BR made a huge mistake in sending Ibe out on loan instead of giving him chance to shine this season while getting Markovic who is clearly not as good as Ibe wasting money once again.

Believable8 Unbelievable11

I do think that £20m for a future player is a lot of money which could have been spent on a player that would make an instant impact. However, we need to give him a fair chance before deeming him not good enough.

markovic got injured in pre season,he is very talented, ibe has nothing to do with markovic.next season we will have ibe sterling markovic sturridge balo origi lambert.
this is waht we been waiting for.
Malta

Agree8 Disagree0

Too early to judge Markovic. Given time, I think he might turn out to be a very good player. But the question is, will he be given time or the manager who bought him be given enough time, to really see the best of Markovic. I mean, it may be upto a 2 or 3 years before we see Markovic being effective on consistent basis but when is the last time LFC gave an under-performing player, young or experienced, such time? It only took 1 year and a hand-full of appearances before BR decided Alberto wasn't going to cut it, and BR is the one who bought in Alberto.

Perhaps it was not the best idea to buy him considering at this point in time, Ibe is more ready than Markovic for the PL and equally, if not better, talented. But, he is a LFC player and supported.

Agree8 Disagree0

Great post, AG!

Agree4 Disagree0

As I said in the summer I wouldn't have bought markovic and would have given more time to suso and Ibe and saved myself £20 in the process.
I however hope I'm wrong and markovic lives up to the massive hype and obvious huge potential.

Agree4 Disagree0

Guys there's too much I I I in these posts. The manager has decided Suso is not fit to play or be on the bench for the first team
The manager has decided that Ibe is not good enough for the team.
So as long as you back BR then you back his decisions that Suso and Ibe are not good enough for the first team and that Markovic is in abRs eyes are much better player as he starts on is sub for the first team.

Agree4 Disagree2

We do not see what happens on the training pitch. Too many are quick too judge. Henderson was written off but is now a key a key player.

Agree2 Disagree1

Would be awfully boring around here if we just all agreed with the manager on every single decision he makes, to be honest.

Agree3 Disagree0

Not really interested what happens on the training pitch, unless it drastically improves a players ability to hit the target and score goals or the defense learns how to defend, that's what i want to see, as for Henderson it took him long enough! i think he was worth the wait and never had a go at him BTW.
we are still struggling in defense and not scoring so why hasn't it been sorted?

Agree2 Disagree0

Because we are w/o Studge (20 goals) and Suarez (31 goals) and NO team on the planet can afford to be w/o those two. Our defence is struggling and that needs to be sorted ASAP but the attack will take time. As for Hendo, He knuckled down and worked hard and did/played where he was told (RB, DM RW, RWB, LW, AM) and never moaned about anything. It was all down to his ethics and the coach who gave him a chance to prove his worth. It`s easy to say he was worth the wait now because he`s come good but at the time, many on here were saying he didn`t have the quality to be and lfc player. If he didn`t knuckle down, he would NOT have been worth the wait because patience wears thin around taday`s fans would have been gone and many on here would have been glad to see him go based on his mediocre performances so people should quit acting like they know everything because THEY DON`T. Class dismissed!

Agreed with your first sentence, last post mate.
But we did spend all the money to cover up that loss. And that plan has failed terribly.

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm glad Ibe is on loan. The lad needs regular football not the odd sub appearance like Lazar. Ibe will benefit hugely from his loan spell and will come back better than Raheem

Agree3 Disagree1

Think the loan will do him good but next year he stays and plays. He is one exciting player. I would have rotated him and Sterling this season personally. Both very similar players and age too. Would have taken a bit of pressure of Sterling too.

Agree1 Disagree0

Boom, we`ve only played a few games. It`s a bit too early to say a plan has failed when its still early days. Rushing to judgement doesn`t help.

Well it looks like we are going to sign V. Valdes? Now I admit that I've been wrong before and will be again, but I just don't get this move and don't think it's a good idea.
I don't think that he is an improvement on what we have already got. Competition for places is always a positive but I don't think Migs is the type of player to suffer from complacency so I just see this as adding pressure to a keeper who is already under pressure. That won't benefit him or the team.
At least Migs is capable of pulling off outstanding saves. V.V. Is just as fallable in making mistakes as Migs.
Whilst his distribution would be welcome, we just sold arguably the best footballing GK (who is also at least as good as Migs)in the summer.
I just see another personality in the squad as more of a distraction given the amount of changes we've made.
Whilst I don't rate Migs too highly, he's our no.1 for now so we should try and make the most of him by building his confidence, not destroying it.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Mignolet is a very average goalkeeper who suffers from complacency on a regular basis. if we bring in a new keeper it will be his replacement not competition.

Red Rum

Agree3 Disagree3

I've now seen achtergberg in the pre match warm ups. I agree I thinka lot of our problems have to do with the fact we have a coach that simply is no where near the standard we require. Who probably has no tactical awareness.

10 Oct 2014 15:52:31
Red-Rum, I don't think Valdes will be the number 1, I think if indeed we signed him, he 'll be the backup

Agree1 Disagree0

Lols. Since we are set to sign another keeper, Everyone pops up with how poor Migs is.

Agree1 Disagree3

10 Oct 2014 16:28:45
I see no sense at all in having Valdes as a backup.
He won't come cheap in terms of wages or signing on fees(which are usually much higher in the cases of a free transfer) and FFP already have a foot up our arse!

Fair enough if the plan is to move on Mignolet in January, but then my issue would be whether Valdes is actually an upgrade, I don't think he is,
Call me silly, but whys he a free agent if he's that good? If Mignolets contract was ended tomorrow, he wouldn't spend 1/4 of the time without a club.
And I know he's had an injury but he doesn't have a club, so there's no chance of any clubs 'waiting to see how he recovers' cause he ain't playing for no sod, so injury or not it's a gamble because we can't assess him or his form.

I'll give him my full support regardless, but if one of Valdes/Mignolet is just going to sit on the bench then it's as pointless as it is financially silly.

And if the plan is to fire Mignolet off, I think that'll see us looking for another keeper fairly quickly.

Agree1 Disagree1

Mignolet's weaknesses are clear for all to see. It is nothing new Harry!

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

This only makes sense if Valdes becomes our number one keeper otherwise it's a waste of signing on fee and salary to have an expensive second keeper on the bench.
Better option is to go out and get Cech in January, he's starting to make his feelings more and more known about sitting on the bench so let's make a move and then we can forget about the goalkeeper problem for a few seasons and hopefully this would also give more confidence to the back four.

The only other thing I can see happening if we take Valdes is as Red Rum and Welsh have alluded to this could be Migs out in January but I still think we should bring in Cech as our number 1.

Agree1 Disagree0

IMO, Valdes in NO uprade on Migs. The only thing he is better at than Migs is ball distribution which can be worked on w/ better coaching which we seem not to have. Valdes is a flapper and terrible on crosses just like the whole Barca defense has and still is. Prob is he looked good on a team that defended thruposession hence, very little danger. Even I would look good in that Barca team that dominated Europe during that period. But when Barca got found out the last two yrs, he is now as ordinary as he always is an has been. Worse, he hasn`t played a game in over a year. Trust me, he`s no better than Migs on that level alone. If you want to replace Migs, do it w/ a GK that is all-round a better one than what u have rather than replace for the sake of it. N BTW, if you need a GK to make a save to win a game, Migs has shown several times he can be that keeper. Trust me when I tell you, Valdes is NOT that guy.

Agree2 Disagree2

Tough one this.
Migs cost a fair bit of money, he is also a good keeper.
He's struggled a bit so far but still deserves this season to get it right, especially as he has had a shambles of a defensive line in front of him ever since he has been here.
Valdes is good in some areas but poor in others, very much the polar opposite to migs. I don't see the point in replacing a struggling for form but good keeper for a returning from injury, old poor shot stopper who can pass a ball.
If we want someone who's a brilliant passer but a poor shot stopper in goal then stick Gerrard in there. Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

My sentiments EXACTLY, Mikey!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Oct 2014 00:57:34
since mignolet do you know how many goals we have been conceding, it a absolute joke. Mignolet is not good enough, and never will be. he should be our back up keeper. i cannot wait for valdez

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not buy a top class keeper, forget signing Valdes, and put Migs on the bench until he shapes up?

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Oct 2014 02:11:43
John Achterberg is a strange story. Keeper for Tranmere rovers, goes on to coach for them and then the Lpool U21s and somehow is good enough to coach for one the worlds greatest ever clubs? It must be true that there is something wrong with the coaching of the whole defense not just Mignolet. Now Valdes MUST become the first choice instantly, otherwise signing him would be a complete waste of money (so don't rule that out, we are good at wasting money). I have always had the opinion that he isn't a great keeper, but to be fair I watched a lot of Barca last year and he was having a good season until the injury. For his distribution and sweeping I think he will be a good signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that I agree with Jack, BUT I think Migs can be effective. He just needs better coachin and a better defence that communicates effectively. If not, he needs to improve or be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valdes in my opinion is rubbish.
I'd rather stick with Mignolet.

Agree1 Disagree1

Just push the boat out for Begovic and stop messing about

{Ed013's Note - Great keeper and needs a big move (y)

Better coaching. Utter nonsense. Wasn't He a Keeper throughout his career, Or something else to learn at Liverpool. Are we using a different set of keeping glouse??

A new coach for Keeper. A new coach for Defenders. Another one for strikers. then one for Wingers. then for the midfielders.

Brilliant.

Agree1 Disagree0

Top level keepers don't need a coach. What can they learn from a specialist coach once they are premier league standard?
In my opinion, coaching will not make a difference to Mignolet, he has no confidence and is not imposing in the area enough. He doesn't organise his defenders either. You can't coach these things to a keeper in his mid twenties, he should already know it.
Good shot stopper, not good enough for a champions league team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - any player needs a coach! Just look at how Reina went from among the best in the world to being a poor keeper when Valero left us. Nonsense comment, sorry but it is ludicrous to suggest a player can't learn and don't need a coach, no matter what level.}

Fair enough,
I just think the things Migs lacks are not things a coach can help with.
He lacks confidence, especially in the air, and he doesn't organise his defenders.
I think he will gain these skills with match experience rather than coaching.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - a good coach makes a player feel more confident. I really don't know why you think coaching can't help with that? As for organising his defenders, again that should be being coached into him. Achterberg is not a good coach and it shows in Migs' performances.}

Disagreed before with you Bob but you nailed it here. Our gk coach needs outing, end of.

Still don't see how anyone can not want Valdes. Wake up. Experience is essential.

Should have got Alonso too

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Oct 2014 13:08:38
Ed01, Mate. Migs doesn't come off the line when needed. And His distribution is awful at best.
Do you honestly think He needs additional coaching to get this correct.

I agree with you a good coach would make a good player, better one.

But Migs isn't a good player at first place. He is a very average keeper.

I am sorry but strictly my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - of course good coaching can fix it. It can make the world of difference. He is a good keeper, the problem is that at our level we need a great keeper.}

Ed is already in mid-season form with his comments. It`s like people want to have it both ways. Some say the team not performing is BR`s fault which to some extent it is BUT if Migs isn`t performing, it Migs` fault and not his Gk coach. Those saying coaching isn`t important are either being disingenuous, ignorant or have NEVER played a sport in their lives. Coaching is the reason some players excel while others falter. You need a coach who believes in you which gives you confidence and allows you to perform. Who made Messi? Pep. Who made Ronaldo? Fergie. Who made Reina? Valero. Who built Suarez to the beast he is today? BR (even tho some people here think the opposite was the case which is mind-numbing at best). I guess to some people here, great players and Gk`s coach themelves. Memo to to such people: There`s a reason each team (pr or amateur) on the planet has a frigging thing called the COACHING STAFF. Hence, if our keeper has weaknesses, its the GK coach`s job to fix it. PERIOD! If he can`t, get one who will. N BTW, if you buy Begovic and we still have the same GK coach and he starts struggling, what do you do then? I know, buy a new Gk and keep the coach who can`t fix his issues. Brilliant!

Agree0 Disagree0

How's Pepe getting on at Napoli?
That new GK coach restored his past form yet? Or is there only 1 GK coach in the world who can do that?

Agree0 Disagree0

I realise Pepe is now at Bayern.
With Bayern having arguably the best keeper in the world, they must have a world class GK coach, so Pepe should re-discover his form and probably challenge for Spain's starting spot. I'll wager he doesn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - except that he won't be playing that much to improve, so just a stupid point, especially as you are assuming they have the best first team coach, when it could have been his youth coaches that made the real difference. You really are just talking crap as usual. Stick to talking about your pants, it is your level.}

Love you too ed xx
