There is a massive difference between a diver and a player who falls over easily. As we saw last week and today Larsson and Modric are divers. Suarez is a player who fall too easily and it invariably happens when there has been some (even the slightest) contact. I don't know why he does it as he is the most dangerous player in the EPL when he stays on his feet. He does things that most players can only dream of. It's time that the coaching staff pointed this out to him especially as when he does win free-kicks they are wasted - no just wasted but disgracefully wasted.
Dutchmal

He is a diver. I fall over too easily when I have had one too many pints, I doubt Suarez plays drunk haha
He is a fantastic player but he does dive.

MIKEY

Mikey, you're a fool. You clearly dot understand momentum. Perhaps you should pay more attention in GCSE physics. Have your teache spend more time on the topic.
He is not a diver, he is a player that attracts a hell of a lot of physical attention from opposition players. Yesterday, he was grappled to the floor in the penalty area, against Fulham he was grappled in the penalty area. The difference is, Syarez continues to go for balls that other players give up on, he goes around players in different directions and get clipped. He needs protecting, or you'll be looking at an injured player.

Dude, you can't dispute that he is a diver. Every top team has a diver. Try and find one that doesn't. It is just a way of playing the game these days. Accept it or get angry about it. Up to you

Thanks, KickingBro

Suarez goes down quicker than my ex.
And for the record I am quite good at physics.

It's almost been a year, and people are still splitting hairs over Carroll. I will lay this out for you for the record, plain and simple.

WE didn't pay anybody £35m. We essentially got Carroll on a free transfer, and sold Torres for £15m. That was the deal in our perspective. Chelsea buy us Carroll, Chelsea pay us £15m and the rest of the money is not our concern - why do people not get that? Fact.

Newcastle dictated £35m, Chelsea paid it without choice otherwise they wouldn't have got Torres. They then had to pay us the £15m - (which adds up to £50m for your mathematics out there). They got their money, Chelsea got their man, we got ours, that simple.

On our behalf it was a fantastic deal, but it's been horribly misconstrued by the media to make us look like we got the bad end of the deal, and to put incredible pressure on poor Andy Carroll (and Fernando Torres, I suppose). It just had to presented that it was a £50m income and £35m outcome on our public bank statement, if you like. But in actual fact, our statement would have been £15m income, £0 outcome, regardless of the pockets of Chelsea and Newcastle. The other amounts have nothing to do with us.

If anybody got the bad deal, it was Chelsea - because they forked out for TWO overpriced players, and only received one. No, Andy isn't worth £35m - everybody knows that. Newcastle know it, Andy knows it, Kenny and Comoli know it, the owners know it. But it's not skin off our back, we got it paid for us - so who's that bothered? Not us. They wouldn't have gone through with it, if it were such a bad deal. The £35m bought Newcastle a safeguard so they wouldn't suffer too much financial detriment as a repercussion of selling what was their star player at an inconvenient time, which could've potentially caused them too lose points and finish lower down the table, thus receiving less money at the end of the season. That's understandable. You have to sympathise with that, and let go of the resentment towards the £35m (which wasn't even ours).

I have backed Andy time and time again, and I will continue to do so tooth and nail because I am adamant that he will prove to be a fantastic asset to our proud club, and it winds me up that so many 'supporters' constantly thrive to bring poor Andy down. He doesn't need it, God forbid he should ever read the pernicious comments on here. Thankfully, the odds on that are negligible.

If he left, by God, we would regret it. We are fortunate to have such a talented player in our midst and everybody takes it for granted. You just wait, because the moment his potential kicks in, I will not hesitate to rub it in your pessimistic face.

I know people hate the comparison, but he is like Crouch. A target man. He took forever to get off the mark, but once he did he was in all seriousness very good at what he did, to be fair. Carroll has been stop and start. He needs a regular run of games under his belt. He hasn't forgotten how to play, give him the right service and he will score. Had Carroll been given some of the aerial chances Suarez had yesterday vs QPR, he would've buried them.

I would leave a name, but every time I do, I get drowned in 'disagrees', so perhaps it's better this remains anomalous.

I hope this ends all melodrama.
Everybody just get behind Andy. That's what we're all about. That is our ethos and heritage. I bet the poor lad feels like he is walking alone sometimes, and we can never, NEVER let a red walk alone, no exceptions. It is not acceptable to slate our players like some of you do. It is disgraceful.

Once a red, always a red.
Walk on Andy, walk on through the storm. You have my complete support lad.

Great post completely agree with you the lad will come good. j

**Clap clap**mate you put everything i wanted to say into word me being a northern lad knows this lad is quality he hasnt showed it down liverpool but he really is i just think people need someone to point a finger at when results dont go our way once he clicks then people will be saying never had no doubt he was class like the henderson one n the lucas one ... i didnt hear one bad thing about torress before he left yet he was a disgrace in his last season at liverpool yet he was "just in a slump" he will pull through but people wont give carroll a chance and why is tht? people give nando the benifit of the doubt why not carroll or henderson people need to shape up and get behind the team no matter what were was our postion last season this time last year?where we even within a shout at CL football? where we in the fa and carling cup? im not sure but i dont think we were if i had the money id travel week in week out to follow liverpool if you want all the glory get your self up the m6 to manc ville people asking why we not signing world beaters?
A)we dont have nout to give them CL football massive wages
B)we cant compete with the likes of chelski and citeh we just get outbid into ridiculas prices and wages
and c)most player people ask about are getting scouted by the likes of barca madrid and the milan clubs we dont stand a chance

JW henry already said he is cutting the wage structure down to form a better stability in the club why is this? because our wage structure was stupid paying 90 geees for players who struggled to get into the reserve our youth is brilliant and to form a great team players have to come through the ranks like the like of fowler gerrard carra owen redknapp yes we do have to shop but why spend ova the amount on wages and fees when we got cover? we do need a young striker and a RM and tht is it i think no more noo need sorry about the rant lads but this has been boiling over for quiete some timeee and i will sign mine because i would like to hear bck

jayblair89

Very well summed up by a true supporter. This post needs to be repeated every time the anti-Andy brigade pipe up. The best way to support your team and help a player who is obviously struggling for form, is NOT to berate him publicly and demand he be sold (redturky, ash, etc). He may not justify a starting place at the moment but give the lad some support and you might start to see the reason why KD and DC targeted him.

cozinoz

A well though-out post - there aren't many of them. I have noticed that Adam seems to have lost weight and looks a lot fitter so perhaps Carroll should use the same regime as him. I think that he should also cut off that stupid ponytail ( my son cut his when he was sixteen) and grow up. He has a tremendous future (ponytail or not) but a change of image will do him no harm at all.
Dutchmal

Couldent of said it any better myself snm!

Is your name Andy by any chance? Or are you his agent? I dont care how much he cost... If he plays well or tries hard giving 110% then he is ok for me...thats the problem...he doesnt try and if this is trying he is simply not good enough. We have got rid of strikers who have played better tried harder. At the moment he doesnt deserve to be in the first team, hence why he starts on the bench every game. I will be honest and say Neil Mellor put more effort in his first team appearances than Carrol has and thats saying something.
S

You're very sure of yourself. Especially for someone with such a ridiculous view of the transfer market. We bought Carroll and Chelsea bought Torres; they just happened at the same time.
And how are we "fortunate" to have Carroll? Liverpool is a great club and Carroll is fortunate to play for us (when he's selected, that is), not the other way round.

Rigsby.

Sorry mate, I like the lad and think he has potential but not at liverpool. We just don't play his type of football. He is sloppy on the ball and we don't have the time to keep playing him because whenever we do we put in a bad performance. The system that we are using now with the QPR game is working fine. When Stevie gets back we will improve massively and start banging goals in. Carroll isn't born for Liverpool's type of play - not his fault but a poor judgement by Kenny in my eyes.

Thanks, KickingBro

Aww come on you moaning bitches, carro;; is one of ours,we should stand by him no matter what he cost,go on youtube and watch his goals for newcastle,if he can get to a form and score those type of goals for us id be very happy,
its acase of if someone cant send me a pot i cant piss in it,give him some support,he will come good,
jimmybosun,

ANDY CARROLL WAS NOT 'FREE'. How many more times. I sold my car for £6k the other day, and guess what? I didn't then go and by a bike for £4k thinking it was 'free'! Whatever your opinion on Andy, HE WAS NOT FREE!

Ash

Totally agree with this last post. Although I think big Andy will come good to say we didn't pay £35 million for him is the most rediculous garbage I've ever heard. So we got him for free? It's quite simple we sold torrez for £50 million. That means we now have £50 million in the bank. We then proceed to spend £35million on Andy Carroll. So for all the idiots who are trying to be clever and say we only spent £15 million wake up and smell the coffee.

hi ed, have you heard anythink on the new stadium? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new on the stadium front.}

What about the back?

Square tomato

11 Dec 2011 21:42:53
I think we should resign Antonio Barragan of Valencia, great right back that never got a chance with Liverpool.
{Ed001's Note - he wanted to leave, he didn't settle here, though I believe we did originally have a buy back clause, it is unlikely we will get him back due to his previous experiences here.}

Thanks for the reply

Liverpool need players that have shown so far, players like Ramirez who plays Gaston in a small team from Italy ... we need players like lavezzi. .., Diego., Fernando from Porto .., Cavani ... players who commands respect. , So we can grow the team and have success in Champions League

I sent complaint letter to FA regarding 'our friend' Mr Friends dismall referee performance against Fulham. Here is FA reply:

Dear Steven,

Whilst understanding your frustration as a football fan, every supporter will have an opinion on the game's major talking points and we're always interested to hear them. The Football Association receives frequent correspondence on individual refereeing decisions across all levels of football as well as on the performance of referees in general. It is important to understand that without a referee there is no game and as a result the long-term health of football relies on recruiting, retaining and developing referees. Whilst 100% consistency is impossible when human judgment is introduced into a situation, referees get the overwhelmingly majority of decisions right. In fact they are arguably the most consistent people in the game making split-second decisions that will be analysed repeatedly by slow motion cameras and panels of football experts.

There is a system in place for monitoring the performance of referees and referee's assistants. This involves referees assessors and reports from club managers. All assessors come from a footballing background and the majority are fully qualified referees themselves. The performances of referees over a season are then taken into consideration when the leagues appoint their referees for the following season.

The Select Group officiates in the Premier League and is the responsibility of Mike Riley, General Manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL). Premier League refereeing enquiries should be addressed to Mike Riley, The Premier League, 30 Gloucester Place, London W1U 8PL or via info@premierleague.com.

We do appreciate all of the feedback we receive from supporters. This feedback is collated and used to build a picture of public opinion and is subsequently fed back internally within the organisation. Please rest assured your comments will form part of this feedback process.

Kind regards

Gary

steve068

What's there to disagree about? He stated a fact and published a response. Please people, try to make sense when you click the buttons.

Seems like a standard reply from FA. 'Cut and paste' job but atleast a reply.

Did you send an email complaining about Martin Atkinson sending off Jack Rowell?..I thought not, and why?, because it favoured Liverpool. You are not interested in what is right, you are only interested in decisions going against Liverpool, you don't complain about decisions for Liverpool! We all expect consistency from referees, but supporters are the most inconsistent and biased people in football! The FA would rightly laugh at your complaint you dope!

State the obvious... I do not care about other peoples team or about the sending off of Jack Rodwell. If a complaint letter improves the standard of refereeing in Liverpool games in future in our favour it will have been worth sending.

who really believes if a bid comes in for andy carroll we are gona reject it? i have a feeling it would likely be accepted if its £15mil or more.RedTurk

I dont think he will be sold. Even if we managed to recoup the full 35m. He was bought long term and I think Kenny will stick with him.

Just my opinion though.

Rewflo

Coulda swore you expressed the same opinion a few hours ago? Not get enough people to bite first time round so you'll just throw it out their again, what a clown you are.
J.C

And if they did accept they would undermine there own judgement. So will not happen, no he's not worth £35 mill but his price has nothing to do with him.

He signed a five year deal, he has'nt even been fit for five months of that time, get off his back and give the lad a chance. I do try look at your post in a constructive manner, but alot of the time you talk utter sh#ite. All the best.

KNEE JERK

Mate if we got the £35 million back, you can bet ur house on it kenny will sell him. No one would admit a mistake that would only drop his value even more, but if the offer came in you would have to be crazy not too take it, you really believe that carp about long term, where were liverpool before he came? we were out of the top 4 and thats where we want to be, there is no long term, lfc need them to hit the ground running like suarez has, we simply cannot afford to pay over the odds for players who are young and not get a return, so if kenny sais we bought him for the next 5 years, hes not really gona say we made a big mistake someone please take him off our hands.RedTurk

If thats the case and we are not building for the long term, why has the academy been so heavily invested in, under Kenny's and Rafa guidence. And its true we need our players to hit the ground running, you get no guarantee that will happen with any player a'la Torres Chelsea. We are not City, we cant afford to pay huge sums and huge salaries for players only to dump them not even a year into there contract! Its not a prudent thing to do.

And for your information if men of Kenny's and Steve Clarke footballing pedergree, make a statement about a player, i take notice and listen. Its not blind faith, its respect, its respect for the fact they have a better footballing brain, than you or i and anyone on this forum. All the best Redturk.

KNEE JERK

Mate, does Kenny strike you as the type of manager to just ditch players that he's staked his reputation on like that? He doesnt to me.

Rewflo

Non so blind,agree redturk

Conversely a good manager admits mistakes. And moves them on.(Hate to say-ala horrible Taggart

Redturk my friend you are the one that is blind, for you cant see the forest for trees. All the best.

KNEE JERK

Plz dont say carrol is for the future
if kenny thought of him as a player for the future then he should have waited for the summer transfer window. he would have got him for much less than wat was paid
kenny bought him in the winter transfer window for his goals but he failed as simple as that

The long and short of it ( and I like all supporters wanted Andy to be a success) is that Carroll does not fit our quick moving/ passing style of play. However, I would stick with him till the end of the season as he may provide an alternative if we get into the Champions League next year. If we dont qualify I would seriously consider cutting our losses in summer.

Agree to a certain extent, but you tell John Henrey to cut his losses on £35 million I think you know what the anwer would be f##k off. we would be lucky to get £10 million for him at the moment.

why dont we loan carroll to celtic or rangers and buy a new striker

Why would they want him?

Wow. Just watched Liverpool vs QPR on Liverpool channel and all I can say is wow. What an Embarrassing display. An no, I am not talking about the performance of the players as I think they were fantastic, an no - I am not talking about tactics or kenny dalglish and no - I am not talking about refereeing decisions. I am talking about Anfield. What a piece of s**t. The crowd was so bad it made me drowzy. Fans who actually can attend the matches are just posh rich people going to watch football and they are NOT there to support Liverpool fc. What is the ticketing system Ed001 because I absolutely hate this lack of enthusiasm from the supporters. What is your opinion ed.

Sorry about being harsh

Thanks, KickingBro {Ed001's Note - it is difficult to get tickets, they are too expensive for most people to go regularly. Season tickets are impossible to get hold of. Most of the people I know that have season tickets have to give up their seats to friends/family for huge parts of the season. Splitting the cost is the only way most people can now afford to go to the games. Unfortunately that is affecting the atmosphere, it is difficult to get songs going on your own.}

Our supporters sing loud and proud when we play away, we should record that atmosphere and play it at our home games using a loud speaker since the support is dull. ;)

Ive got a membership card and try to block buy my tickets for the first part of the season sometimes ive got lucky and get in the Kop were its easier to get a song going. Elsewere it goes flat very quickly, the kop is the band leader. We may have a problem with the prawn sandwich brigade. All the best.

KNEE JERK {Ed001's Note - everywhere has the same problem, the high price of tickets is freezing most people out of regular attendance around the Prem.}

I would quite happily sing if someone would be kind enough to give me a ticket. No stopping me after a few pre match pints :)

MIKEY

I did work it out, not so long ago how much it cost me to get to a game i.e ticket price, fuel, food, missing out on double time at work. And its around the £600 mark, thats just me. Never mind when my kids come of age and i take them, so in effect the next generation of support is already priced out of the games. All the best.

KNEE JERK

£600??? I know the half time pies are a bit pricey but really??
feel for ya.

MIKEY

Its a 200 mile round trip, suppose its my fault i drive a thursty car but yeah given time off work double time at the weekend, ticket, parking, programe, fuel and food not far off. Ive made the trip to Anfield three times this season and one away game. All the best.

KNEE JERk

Half youse admit to not going. We who ndo scrimp every penny.200 quid a week im on with mortgage and kids.So stop with prawn sandwich crap.Kop are as big a culprit as anyone.Annie road and kids get as much started as them. Its a nonchalance of having had as many bhuge games over years.Crowd only up when big game. When maybe apparent underdogs

You wanna spend your mortgage money on tickets or take food from your kids mouths go ahead.
If we can't afford to go the match we are not going to go, football is losing it's true supporters by pricing us out. Those who are left are more likely to be the prawn sandwich brigade.

MIKEY

I pay my mortgage, kids A grade well turned out 6th formers. You presumptious person.

How dare you be so presumptious-idiot.Do an added job to go.wish could meey you face on.Snuggle back into your armchair and keep chanting "im a fan",honest.Someone will believe you one day,maybe yourself! 18 hours back from Istanbul.Ed furious with this clowns pesonnel assumption attack {Ed002's Note - Suck it up and move on or your blood pressure will be on the rise. I am sure it was no meant as an attack on you.}

11 Dec 2011 19:02:01
I don't understand this " I hope Citeh beat Chelsea tomorrow" malarky. Surely we want a draw? I know it's a real long shot as it stands at the moment, but I hope KK hasn't gave up on winning the league just yet. A draw is a good result all round I think. Chelsea don't make too much progress on the top 4 & Citeh don't run away with the league. Yet!

The Irish Rover

Look at it this way mate:

3 scenarios:

City win: We're 3 points away from the CL spot, they stay 5 points ahead of United.

Chelsea win: City are 2 points ahead at the top and 4th place is now 5 points away.

Draw: 4th place is 3 points away and City have a 3 points lead on United.

Sure, a draw seems like a good option, but I would MUCH rather have us being 3 points away from 4th and have the moneybags 5 points ahead of the United scum.

RenegadedRed

Totally agree renegadered we need to be concentrating on getting champions league before even thinking of a strong title challenge I hope city win and then I hope they beat arsenal next week!

Square tomato

The league is pretty much beyond us now if we're realistic. We need to be in the Top 4 by May and nice to see ManU and Chelski failing miserably. I hate to see the title bought with a sheik's credit card but I'm hoping for a Man C win.

cozinoz

If City win wouldn't we be 2pts behind Chelsea?

Thanks, KickingBro

No way can we win the title. We arent good enough. Im hoping citeh thrash chelski n arsenal, then we r in with a good shout for 4th place.

Sing to the tune of Rudolph.

Sir Alex Uniteds manager had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it you might even say it glows.

All of the other managers used to laugh and call him names. They wouldnt let Sir Alex play in any managers games.

Then one disastrous wednesday night Kenny rang to say Alex with your nose so bright you can play on thursday night.

Then all the other managers loved him and they shouted out with glee Alex you red nosed b*****d enjoy playing Europa League.

Derek

Derek, you are truly an artist, love it.

While I do agree that we might have to find a replacement for Lucas, I do not think it would be wise to buy this player in January. We should definitely try to get a DM on loan. Our priority is clearly in the goal-scoring department. With the amount of quality players at top clubs who do not get any game-time and with the Euro coming up, it should not be too complicated to arrange something that makes sense for all parties involved. Who is the last senior player we've had on loan? Also, just watched the Stoke-Spurs game and I am truely saddened by the blatant dishonesty of the Prem refs. Shocking turn of events, a real shame if you ask me.

Why are people wishing Torres back?
Have people forgot how he forced his way out?
Besides we need a goal scorer and his goal scoring record is worse than carrols.

MIKEY

I for one would have Torres in a flash the lad had bad avisors and at the time the new owners came in IMO it was a done deal a bit like beneyoun with him to Chelsea,I know the way he left hurts it hurt me he was my fav player but as the saying goes he thought the grass was greener on the other side,if he came back and apologised to the fans by saying he had made a mistake that would do for me,can you imagine him upfront with Suarez and bellamy just behind OMG what a front three. Cheers PK

The only arguments in favour of Torres coming back have been that he 'was my favorite player'.
Based on this criteria, I would like to see us re-sign Terry McDermott. Admittedly, his best playing days are behind him, his legs have gone and he would be third choice striker at best........but the same for Fernando Torres. Mind you, Terry would a lot less likely to jump ship during rough seas so I'd prefer him.
FT gave us a few great memories and 50m to spend - thanks and goodbye.
You lot want the Torres of 2009 back, not the 2011 version.

cozinoz

An apology would be nice. But his shocking form and lack of goals in the last 18 months is reason enough he is nowhere near good enough for Liverpool anymore.
Torres at his best would fit in yeah but he's not at his best, there must be a player out there somewhere who would fit in perfectly and score tons of goals, and I bet kenny and commoli have already identified him.

MIKEY

I can well imagine him on the pitch with Suarez. Suarez will be making intelligent runs and Torres will run in to the corners and try to get a shot away without even glancing in the direction of Suarez. Sounds awesome. You should have Kennys job.

What about having Torres on loan, with an option of buying him back for £15-20m if he does the business. Win win situation all round!

11 Dec 2011 18:27:54
Only 5 pts behind spuds,
chelski sure to loose points tomorrow,
still half the season to go,
were still up there in the mix
Everything still to play for,
lets hope we finish this season
as strong as we finished the last one.
and we can grab 4th spot
Come on Liverpool!

11 Dec 2011 18:22:17
Theory-Suarez drops so deep, works so hard to create OWN chances. That by the time,he hods of numerous challenges and beats several men,hes fkd by time hes threw.Hence tame or off target, shots.Needs a playmaker to create them chances leaving him to work line accross box

Good theory! What about
Gerrard-Suarez up front?

He always looks a bit tired to me aswell. Like when he's through he won't run straight to the keeper, he always cuts back e.g. the goal against wolves

Midfield need to push on more. Not Suarez fault.

Suarez has always played that way even for ajax but there he had 2 other players playing along side him in 433.

Different point-Glad Spurs lost. But how the n k they did??Stoke never have clean cut win, clear of controvesy

11 Dec 2011 18:15:26
Hook, line n snookered nice 1 Stoke. Now need city to turn over Chelsea an open things up abit.( no offence ed2 )
So what do you lot think the score will be im having 3-1 city win. Off topic i know, it has'nt been a bad weekend really. All the best.

KNEE JERK

I hope for a no score draw, ok so it gives them a point each but it keeps the top tighter than a outright huge lead, also the goal difference would be better for us in case we need it to be if there was no score in the match.

There are a lot of things we can say about stoke and their fans but 1 thing's for sure- they are one hard team to beat at the britannia. Juz ask the spuds.:-)

I hope citeh beat chelski tmr. I have no love for them but i'd much rather they win the league then their noisy red neighbours.

And of cos, a defeat for chelski means our chances of overtaking them improves. Heh heh

I hope it's gona be a merry red christmas season for us.

A few results our way and we could well be in the top 4 by the new year.

Please Santa? Afterall we wear the same colours, rite? Ho ho ho :-)

Beginning of the decline of Tottenham Hotspur
Y.N.W.A

I think it would take a couple of key injuries to slow down Spurs. Modric and Parker perhaps. But I'm not wishing that on them.
But all the top sides have got injury woes, Spurs haven't really suffered that much. Yet.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - Spurs have King, Rose, Kranjcar, Huddlestone and Dawson injured right now.}

More than a couple then !
Lol.
No, they've got a good squad.
The Real KB

Hopefully now Spurs have a cr*p festive season and slide down the table. Anyone know an update on Gerrard's injury ?

Don't really compare to Gerrard and Lucas for Liverpool and Vidic and Hernandez for Manch

11 Dec 2011 17:31:49
any chance of signing Bas Dost?

11 Dec 2011 17:26:17
Struggling to see the contact on Modric. Hmmm.. Intent was there, but was there contact. No going down easily comments. Unsurprisingly.

Watching the slo-mo replay on Sky, suspicions confirmed. No contact. Dive! What's more annoying is, that Peter Reid is subjected to "really?" four times when e says no contact. Another example of media bias. Spurs and their media darling manager will get favourable commentary. Modric diver campaign should start now. I look forward to seeing the "boy who cured" headlines. Not holding my breath though.

Boy who cried wolf headlines. Typo.

And wheres the character assassination of him?

Who cares what the media says? It's what happens on the pitch that matters.

Yeah it should be why happens on the pitch. But how do you explain, the change in tact from refs once ol purple nose makes some noise. Also, if the media have no impact on the field, why the hysteria over mind games. Grow-up mate, there is a whole of corruption out there that you need to open your eyes to.

Conspiracy page link is at the top mate.

MIKEY

Mikey, Mikey , Mikey... Wake up man. Don't you remember how us fans were vilified for not giving Roy enough time. This was to strengthen his position, the man was in bed with fergie. It was like having an impostor running the club. It certainly made an impression on the pitch.

Now we have this media witch hint of Susrez, it's had an impact on his performances. Referees find it easier to make decisions against him when they know they won't get slaughtered for penalizing him. Unlike how the ref got slaughters for the decision he made against Camel lipped Ferdinand against Newcastle. Starting to ring true yet?

Hey Mickey don't you know that One man's conspiracy is another man's fact

I've been looking at some players people keep are asking are we interested in.
I think we need to remember that our aim is top 4 and the champions league.
I was just wondering do you see the likes of victor Moses,Matt jarvis and Stephen fletcher etc , playing in the champions league?

LAVERS

I'm not sure if any of those players would improve our team. We have better players in the reserves and youth team.

have to say martin kelly should be playing ahead of johnson, but i hope he improves his attacking play abit. i tink we should sell johnson because kelly is better and we dont really need him, hes abit of a liability in defence most of the time, raise the money along with selling andy carroll if we get a good price for him like £15million upwards, and i think we need to sell spearing he really isnt liverpool quality, works hard but just hasn't got it.RedTurk

Yeah let's sell Carroll for 15m, that's a good deal considering only a year ago he was bought for 35m ans Spurs had a 30m bid declined.

Yeah let's sell Spearing too, who needs good squad players hey?

Oh never mind just seen who the post was from.

Do you mind if i call you Captain Positive from now on Redturk?

KT!

I see Redturk is back in form after that slip the other day when he actually said something positive. Well done.
ND

Wow someone sent a similar post earlier and there was no reaction as soon as i post i get a barrage of haters, i like to speak the truth about certain players mate, spearing is average, rather conor coady is given a chance, andy carroll is andy carroll just becos spurs bid £30million just simply means they wer bloody lucky they didnt buy him, liverpool got done on that one, but we got £50 million from torres so if we sell for £15million or more then its not really a loss and martin kelly is good enough to replace johnson so why have a player with a stupi* contract saying he has to be picked every game when fit and paying him 1 of the highest wages at the club.RedTurk

I see RedTurk, I click disagree. saves so much time wasting his posts.

Cant stand Stoke or their footy.(Fans copy every other clubs songs)However maybe theyve got it right v Spurs-Get stuck into them.Parker in particular, doesnt like it

Agree, their fans don't have an original song or bit of banter
Their footy is ugly
Tell you what tho I hope they beat the spuds!

Who cares if Stoke don't play attractive football? Not every can buy skillful players but they get stuck in, park the bus and hassle opponents and win games then thats a decent game plan. Stokes style of football may struggle against similarly physical opposition but they have already shown how difficult it is to score past.

We won't be in for defensive players in Jan as we have had the least goals scored against us in Prem .Are priorities are wingers and a top finisher maybe a attacking cm. Targets are :
V.Mosses - wigan
Hoilett - blackburn
Targets we will go for but are not realistic :
Villa - Barca
Hazard - lille

My complaint to the BBC about the commentators statement about Luis Suarez crying wolf.

During commentary on the Liverpool v QPR match the commentator said that Luis Suarez "does cry wolf a lot" this is a subjective statement purporting to be fact and therefore borders on the libellous. Far from crying wolf Suarez is frequently fouled without the referee awarding a free kick. Comments like that from the MOTD commentator merely add to the false impression that Suarez is simulating making it more likely that referees will ignore genuine fouls against him. The BBC should ask the commentator in question to apologise on air to Suarez and make it clear that he does not "cry wolf" and that actually he has been unfairly treated by referees for much of this season.

I agree with you 100%. BBC reporters always overdo it when it comes to stupid comments especially about sports. I strongly agree he should apologise on air

We would be stupid not to realise that Suarez makes the most of every opportunity to go down and rill around. Red Rebel

Lets face it, he does go down a lot and moan more than he should - he's a great player and doesn't need to do it.

I'll admit he's dived once or twice, which i suppose is wrong, but I think the way he plays, and more accurately the way he tries to turn players when the ball's coming into him, means he's more susceptible to falling over if there's any contact. Unfortunately, referee's are never gonna give most of these, it's just a drawback to being really, really good at turning defenders.

Rugby Parker

Just to add i think some one has had a word with Luis, i noticed he did not complain as much to ref during the QPR game.

Nobody liked a moan as much as Kenny back in the day I tell you. He was constantly cheeping in the ref's ear. But he wasn't as demonstrative as Suarez. I don't have a problem what the commentator said.
My favourite sports commentator is Michael Johnson, the ex-US athlete. He is very forthright and honest, brutally so sometimes.
The Real KB

Err..talking about football commentators not athletics..just saying

Phil Jones goes to ground more easily but no one bats a lid. The fact is he gets nailed into with back to goal so he cant turn the defender. He needs protection

The point is not whether he moans a lot it's that a BBC commentator actually said he cries wolf a lot. Does he cry wolf or does he moan when he gets fouled and doesn't get a decision? There is a huge difference between the two and it is wrong for a commentator to say he cries wolf. If he'd said that Luis moans then I'd have not problem with that because he does moan, understandably if he gets no protection from referees, but to say he cries wolf is to imply there is very rarely any justification to his moans and he is therefore simulating. This is an outrageous statement for a commentator to make. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish. Suck it up and move on.}

Luis don't you have shooting practice??

MIKEY

BBC commentators are a 100 times more palatable than any others any other channel. Give 'em a break!

Commentators shouldn't be restricted to what they say - it makes matches boring. Let them say what they want and how they feel.

Thanks, KickingBro

11 Dec 2011 13:55:34
Did anyone hear the BBC commentator on Match of the Day say that Suarez "does cry wolf a lot"? No wonder referees allow defenders free rein to kick him till he's black and blue. Every reds fan should complain to the BBC for this disgraceful comment, make our voice and our displeasure heard.

If he Luis was playing for Chelsea you'd be saying the commentator was spot on! I'm a red & it doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact the BBC lot are a breath of fresh air compared to the other loons on other channels.

Lennings says:

People punting Zamora and Ba? WTF!
Are you out of your minds? Jeysus!

As it is, we have a huge problem of too many average to utter garbage players and yet you want more of them.
What sort of plonkers are you?

Aren't Spearing, Downing, Carroll, Kuyt enough tosh for you?
May as well bring back Dundee, Traore, Tallac, Poulsen etc.

We've enough problems without losing the plot.

Anyway, ed, would you happen to have any idea about young Milan Benadj's situation?
Fantastic talent. These are there sort of players I expect Comolli to bring in.

Young, relatively unknown, cheap brilliant talent. Will be as good as, if not better than, his countryman Modric.
Forget Eriksen and Hazard (no chance).

I heard Spurs are closely looking at Benadj. Anyone else watching him, ed?
TONY BROWN {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

Badelj, is it not? Maybe your copy of football manager has a glitch in it.

Rugby Parker

Is Milan Badelj who your on about? if so he is a potentially a great player, who I would like to see, only saw him in around 3 games so not massive knowledge on him

He is rated highly by the FM 2012 scouts..
But then again, they

11 Dec 2011 13:41:07
What would people think to us using AC on loan for the rest of the season as a sweetener to getting Soldado. This would take him completely out of the English press spotlight, give him some game time, let him improve his technique and save Valencia having to pay out for a replacement until the summer. I personally think this would be a win/win for all interested parties.

Red4Ever

Nonsense.

Keep your dreams for bedtime mate

Manchester united should follow suit and have statues of paul durkin and howard webb outside old trafford.

11 Dec 2011 13:25:29
Suarez is the main man at the head of attack, yes. But to say we are a one man team is mind boggling - would you say that to Agger, Adam, Reina, Enrique, Lucas etc that we are a one mean team? These lads work very hard for our team and they do a good job of it. Suarez is there to put the ball in the net.

11 Dec 2011 13:19:33
Ed would Marco Reus be intrested in coming to us if we act before Bayern, and if not him what wide man are we targeting? thanks for answering all are questions you guys are Legends

DJS {Ed001's Note - unlikely, he is very keen on the Bayern move. As for who we are targeting, I am not sure right now. It is very difficult to find out definite names until a move is made, we watch thousands of players over the course of a season, knowing which ones we are actually keeping an interest in is difficult. To be honest, I have not got anything confirmed regarding widemen at all, that could mean we have our targets decided and so no longer need to watch them.}

I've been quite happy with our progress the last 12 mths but deep down inside, I really hope the kids can be given a chance.

And when I say a chance, I don't mean juz the odd game here and there.

For me, nothing beats seeing 1 of our kids making the grade.

It's great when we buy a torres or a mascherano but it's so so so much better when a fowler, gerrard or mcmanaman comes thru the ranks.

We've got a gd crop of youngsters and I hope they're all given a fair chance. Reserve football and the occassional 1st team run-out won't be enuf for them to grow into their full potential.

We may never be able to compete financially with city or chelski but we sure as hell can produce our own stars-of-tmr.

If done right, and the kids make it through, in 2 or 3 years, we may see the start of a new Red dynasty.

I juz hope Gerrard is still playing when we finally win that PL title cos nobody deserves it more than him.

Give the kids a chance.

Give gerrard that title he deserves.

YNWA

Have to agree, one of the best players to never have won the league, but atleast he's got a Champions League title to his name!

Ridiculous post mate, I am sorry. You can't seriously think that players coming through the youth can do a better job than world class 200,000 pound a week 40m pound players do you? I know you are supporting the club but that is stupid to think we can win the league by throwing a load of liverpool youth team players.

Thanks, KickingBro

Yeah, a team of kids never win anything - just ask Alan Hansen

11 Dec 2011 12:56:16
Everyone is talking about a striker to link up with Suarez what we need is a creative midfield e.g. Alonso, Modric. Anyone you know ed who Liverpool have shown an intrest in? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool bought Henderson and Adam in the summer and Gerrard seems close to a return - perhaps on of them could be used.}

11 Dec 2011 12:49:12
The club does not have ONE quality finisher . What about Darren bent? Villa are going nowhere with an unambitious manager and club set up. He needs to have an eye on getting into the Euro 2012 squad. Would be worth a thought.

Bent ain't in the best of forms, he is aging and commands both a large fee and a high salary. Far from moneyball. Would accept him only for 3-4 mln.

I dont think we will sign anybody in jan unless someone wants to leave.

11 Dec 2011 12:31:49
It seems like Liverpool are very close to being a top 4 team. To make the final steps they will need to sign some players in January.

Honda: £15million
Banega: £12million or Javi Martinez: £15million
Jeffren Suarez: £10million

Honda highly unlikely. Banega wud cost atleast 20 million pnds n martinez 30 million pnds. Jeffren is crap, only pace n no end product.
Indian Buzzer

If you want chanps leauge 20m small price to pay for banega.Bigger picture surely the key

At the moment Liverpool cannot attract certain players because Champions league football is not a reality. However Liverpool do have a chance of getting players like Banega.

11 Dec 2011 12:28:28
Is there any chance of us going for Demba Ba either in January or Summer?

What we need is a real goal scorer, a target man, a poacher, a finisher; someone who is always in the right place at the right time- what Torres was and what Carroll should be.

Suarez creates so many chances but often there isn't a good enough player in a good enough position to finish them all off.

Demba Ba is scoring for fun this season surely there must be some big teams sniffing around him, are we one of them?

I do think this kind of Striker I described is what we need and I would put Ba top of the list as he seems to be proven in the Prem already.

Perhaps a cheeky bid plus Carroll on loan in Jan? :P

Are we interested Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Not that we are aware.}

He failed previous medicals because of knee problems.. he is a walking injury nightmare.. we already have one of those
kos

Yay that will build Carroll's confidence, beside Ed doesn't Ba have a knee problem that would stop him from passing our medicals? -McMenemy {Ed002's Note - Ba has had significant problems in the past and failed a medical at Stoke in the summer.}

11 Dec 2011 12:11:38
I don't agree mate, if we had all players fit and available I feel our best option would be a 433 with Lucas holing and Stevie and Adam infront, and a front 3 of Suarez Bellamy and Maxi/Downing.
In this setup I would play Johnson over Kelly as him and Enrique would give us the width a 433 like this could starve us of and with Lucas in the side I, personally feel alot more comfortable with Johnson getting the nod over Kelly.
If you had added "and in form" to the end I fit and availiable I would ofcourse include Carrol in the first 11 but I don't think, in his current form, he is upto this task, if we're to get the best from him I believe we should set up our team for him, give him the service his game requires and watch his confidence pick up. I think this is where the Europa would have been invaluable for us this year.
Anyway, good 3 points yesterday, keep em coming!
GY Red

Carroll's problem with 4-3-3 is being the target man. i think everyone can agree his touch is poor aslo his movement without the ball is non existant, throw in a lack of pace and its screaming out panic buy. either play to his strengths or let him go..
the problem with letting him go is we will not get anything more than £10-15 million for him. we all know we paid over the odds for him but i think we are now realising just how much over the odds when you see Shane Long went for £6-7 million and is looking every bit a good young striker. We missed out on one there

Question for ed 1 if possible,

what's the story with Johnson. Is he aware the club is trying to sell him? What kind of price does the club expect to get? Who would be most likely for Kelly understudy?

Thanks ed still the best site on net.

Rewflo {Ed002's Note - You need to use the searcvh function as Ed001 explained this earlier in the week.}

If his contract states that he can only be played at right back in the league and europe, unless he agrees otherwise, then that is crazy. I would sell him on if that's the case. A Liverpool player should be prepared to play anywhere he is asked.
I blame agents for this type of stupidity. They are like vultures, and they're at their worst when the club is in a weaker position. I presume this contract condition was agreed some time ago, when we were struggling ?
If I were Kenny, I'd say to him in the summer - you're a good player but I need the flexibility of trying you here or there. If that's not good enough for you, so long and thanks..
The Real KB

What is slightly ironic perhaps as well, is that Johnson is a good enough footballer to play different positions. He has covered LB well. I have no doubt he could do a very good job at RM / wingback-type also. If he played there, he may save the club £15m say, as they are having to look at getting a winger in.
He could play RM and Kelly full back. That could be a brilliant right-sided combination for us. Then we'd be strong on both sides.
Surely that would then strengthen his place in the England squad ?
You play well for your club, your club plays well, it should be a mutual win / win. Madness.
The Real KB

The Real KB, i also wud like Johson in rm and kelly rb as you said, jus need a poacher up front then both wings wud have pace and balance, ! 4-4-1
Red& Bred

I know mate. It's been said a 1000 x times on here. But he's not gonna have it.
So we may as well play Kelly and take the money. Which is a shame, cos Johnson is a good footballer and you don't like to lose those players. But he's not helping the club if he persists with this stance.
The Real KB

If thats case sell him get Banega. Can always improve elsewhere.Got Kelly anyhow

11 Dec 2011 11:21:14
Realistic team after the January transfer window:

Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Tiote, Adam; Hoilett, Gerrard, Bellamy; Suarez

Doni, Kelly, Coates, Henderson, Maxi, Downing, Carroll.

RM

Why would we buy Tiote for 4-5 months untill lucas returns?

11 Dec 2011 10:38:53
Do we hold any interest in Celtics James Forrest, eds? Think he would be a nifty little signing for our right side and he can also play as a striker. He's young and wouldn't cost the earth. Any thoughts? {Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts about it.}

Lennings says:

A few points on the DM issue.
Much has been said about the "need" to bring in a replacement for Lucas.
Porto's Fernando, who's no doubt a class act, has recentky been touted as that man.

I disagree with both views.
Lucas needn't be replaced.
Only person who needs replacing here is Jay Spearing, who's utter gash, absolute s**t player.
Being a "local lad" is what's keeping afloat.
Honestly he's garbage.
GET RID NOW!

The calls to buy a defensive mid in January reflects the lack of faith and trust in Spearing's ability.
So he's who needs replacing.

Onto the Porto man himself, Liverpool most certainly have no plans to bid for him, and why would we?
LFC already has a class dm in Lucas.
We don't need another player of the same calibre, especially at that price.

I'd question the wisdom of spending such a fortune (£20m+) on a player we don't really need.
There are much more pressing areas.
Biggest of those is a striker.

Soldado's our man. He's the sort of "moneyball" signing our supremos are known to crave.
His figures speak for themselves.

Proven scorer, age (26), price (£22m-£23m), he'd be open to the move. We creating tons of chances and failing to put them away.
He KNOWS how to put away.
Really, this lad could be the difference between top 4 or not.

This is our man. We can't get Benzema or Higuain, but we can get Soldado.
I struggle to see how the chairman could justifiably be opposed to such a move.

Valencia are out of the CL, Milan are full of s**t and kid too much.
There's not many admirers for the player.
So why not?

Ed, would you say you see any good enough reason why the chairman wouldn't be sold on?
TONY BROWN {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado who is having a good season but his availability in January is by no means certain. Milan are also interested in Soldado but have perhaps been a little distracted by Tevez. At about 25M euro Soldado would not be cheap.}

Yeah but wasn't good enough for real madrid

11 Dec 2011 10:34:29
i thought liverpool played really well yesterday and have played well for the last few games. we just need to add 2 more players(striker and Right wing IMO) and start getting a bit more look and will be in the top for come the end of the seasson........and by the way some fans will be eating there words just as with lucas because henderson played well yesterday and he WILL come good

11 Dec 2011 11:47:05
What has impressed me greatly is the way Kenny has not put Carra straight back into the starting 11 once he was fit again and has stuck with Agger and Skrtel. This sends a very important and morale boosting message to the rest of the lads - perform well and you stay in the team. Class.

Fabian Treezle

11 Dec 2011 11:34:04
Thought Henderson was great yesterday & hope KD will stick with him when Spearing's suspension ends.

Great energy, better passing and vision than Lucas and not constantly niggling opponents ankles. Always thought Lucas was OK, but Hendo could well be better - very early to judge though.

Eds - any chance all the questions can go on the questions page & the only rumours appear on the rumours page - you have to read through quaetion after question to find a rumour these days. {Ed001's Note - like this one?}

3 points, still poor finishing and lucky not to give away a pen at the end but a dominant performance through out. glad he went with 4-4-2. they all did well, still need to sign a real goal threat in january along with a young winger. coleman did well again yesterday and i'm sure david villa and pedro were not happy at being left out of el classico. there may be some business there. all in all work to be done but its points in the bag.

Krasic of Juventas is a good winger. he did well last year but not find any playing time under new boss. Liverpool will try to bring him ?

Krasic is available but i suspect he will end up in Spain. He's never shown an interest in England.

Rewflo {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic at some point but it is unclear if the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. The player has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in Krasic. Juventus may value the player out of the winter window though. There is at least one person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and may wish to revisit earlier interest.}

11 Dec 2011 10:29:36
Hi eds, is there any interest in Steven Fletcher of Wolves? I think he would be the perfect person to convert our chances, especially if we get a good wide right. He is a good all round, old-fashioned centre-forward who would get A LOT of goals in this Liverpool team. Plus, he would be relatively cheap.
Thanks! {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}
-----------------------------------------------------
Think of it this way... Could you see Chelsea bidding for Fletcher? No. Could you see Man City bidding for Fletcher? No. Could you see Man Utd bidding for Fletcher? No.
If he isnt good enough for our rivals, then he isnt good enough for us.
LG

Did any of the above teams you mentioned bid for Suarez LG..? no
So what your saying makes sense to you only!!
JayB

Fair point LG but none of the three teams mentioned are currently playing a donkey at centre forward .

I'd like to see Liverpool sound out Albrighton. Very good young player, RM'er, pacey. Love to see him in a red shirt.

Chelsea do have a donkey at centre forward his name is torres

U all go on about torres being a donkey,if liverpool got the chance to swap him for caroll,i would be over the moon, because i would hope that he playes like he did when he first came, chance i think k.k would take, and get rid of our donkey

Great shout dano, he is a player that will be one of the best in the world within a few years. it would give him games and us a talented midfielder that we badly need

If we could have got him for permanent that would have been great. But I don't think we should go for him on loan.

Do yourself a favour by stepping out of your fantasy, please.

I don't think Barca will sale him. Barca may sale Villa if a good offer made but not Pedro and Thiago.

He said LOAN, not sell. Barca will not sell the replacement for Xavi but they do want him to get games.

{Ed002's Note - These are just random lists of names that in the main do not interest Liverpool or LIverpool could not afford if they were available. It is impossible for us to consider such things sensibly.}

Mr Dano, you're really trying to test the eds here, aren't you? To answer your question: wait for the Jan transfer window

SingRed

Ed I think that we could afford any of these if they became available and we wanted the player, who do you think we could not afford?

KopEndDannyLFC {Ed002's Note - M.Vila, Muniain and Higuain to give you one from each list.}

I thinks that carra still can give a lot to the squad and never write him off. Its not to say that i would start him ahead of skrtel and agger. But carra is a valuable member of the squad and against chelsea in the carling cup was brilliant and the defense kept a clean sheet. He will also be valuable to players like coates and wilson and also all the young players in the squad. Because they will learn from one of the best defenders to have worn a red shirt.

Its just great that we have competition for places. We couldnt even say that this time year.

Mighty reds

If it ain't broke, don't fix it... whoever plays well stays in the team, although I'm quite sure Carra can continue for another 2 seasons at least

The lads did well again yesterday, apart from the same old story of not finishing the opposition off.We have been producing some fantastic stuff this season, and apart from the spurs game, we haven't got out of the games what our football deserved. The back four once again showed the Carra brigade that there is life after their hero.I use to think they where so disrespectful to M.S and D.A TO keep saying that Carra was irreplaceable. At last they are being given the opportunity to show what they can do without the legend next to them.I think we are playing a lot better not having to worry about leaving space behind the back four.

Micheal Mouse

And now you are disrepectful to Carra Roland Rat

Has jonjo shelvey come back to us as a result of lucas's injury and jay spearing's red card and poor display

He as been recalled to fill the gap in the squad that Lucas's injury as created. His development has been curtailed for the time being, but if we do need to call on him, I 'm sure he will do Ok. Jay will never be good enough to play against a top class midfielder as he tries to please some fans, who yearn for tackling from the sixties.Me I have always liked watching slick passing, rather than bone crunching tackles.Sell him in January, that's what I say. Let him play for Swansea or Norwich,If he can get in their teams that is.
Nojay

Shelvey played well yesterday - especially when you consider how he's had to be quickly thrown in.

Good performence yesterday...glad we won...yes we should have scored more but win is win nd pleased with that...i would love to to see johnson on right wing as he does have skill to unlock defence nd im sure kenny could have played him there agaisnt defence minded teams like qpr..maybe in fa cup he could do that...

carol must be wondering why he doesn't find the room suarez had for his header

Suarez moves around and creates space for himself whereas carroll just stands there

Perhaps that's because Suarez is much more mobile than Carroll is and will ever be.

BooDaBooze

Suarez is busy player. and he need a busy partner around him to score more.

Also , we have all been to enough games to know that Carroll would have missed that chance yesterday .

Imagine if Carroll learned the movement from Suarez... Defenders would cry..

Ed, I know there has not been interest shown, but sinse we need a wide right player, preferably with prem experience, why not Chris Eagles?
Bolton are struggling, and I know hes one of their top players but he has to be worth a punt, an extra dead ball specialist to get down the flank and put dangerous balls in, if hes making assists and goals at bolton then surely he would succeed with ourselves?
I understand hes an ex United boy, but that was years ago when he was starting out, what do you reckon?
Decent player, decent wages, prem experience, adds what we are missing?

Anfield Andy

P.S. Other views more than welcome about him? {Ed002's Note - The case you make is good, but I don't know of any LIverpool interest at all.}

I just can't see Eagles being a top team player. He'd do alright at a mid table club but not for us

I'm happy with the 3points and the way we played was icing on the cake.

But it kinda set me thinking.

Imagine if we didn't have the injury problems that we have.

Our starting line-up would b smthing like-

Reina

Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

Hendo/Maxi Lucas Gerrard Adam

Suarez Carroll/Bellamy

If gerrard was his old self and lucas and adam play the way they've been playing this season, we'll be more than a match for any team.

And we still have lots of options on the bench in defence and midfrield.

We probably won't even need a prolific striker but if we had one, it would be crazy.

With the number of chances we've created this season, a 20yr old Fowler could well be pushing 20 goals by now.

My point is, we're not far away from being a really good side challenging for all the honours.

Juz need a couple of pieces to fall into place, a bit more luck and more consistent refs.

I hope we're on the verge of smthing big.

I don't think it would be fair to complain about injuries, yeah losing Lucas is a bitter blow but in all honesty it has been so long since Gerrard has played consistantly that I have completely forgotten about him, same with Agger a season ago.
We are in need of a goal grabber and who knows where thats going to come from, but it isn't just the team not getting shots on targets the opposition goalkeepers having been playing extrodinary against us. If you look at the games where we should of won then it can be frustating. I would accept if we maybe lost/drew 1 or 2 games but it has been all too frequent this season. I actually think our goals to chance ratio must be the lowest in the league.

Does anybody know what areas are considered to be in need of strengthening? (Eds, if you knew how slow this computer was you would understand my lack of searching)

Len

I'll take that as a resounding no then

Going back a few years now but I remember people used to post player sightings on here.. I've just finished filming a promo at the circle club in Manchester. At about 1:30am Patrice Evra, Ashley Young sand Danny Welbeck strolled in with a couple of bodyguards. I wanted to confront Evra about the race row but got slightly distracted watching Young throwing some shapes on the dance floor. He looked like a 17 year old boy who was so excited that he got into a nightclub underage.. Needless to say it was amusing to witness.. They all then made their way to the VIP area with a few females.. Not a bad way to celebrate a win ay? I tried to get a few more shots of them but security warned me off-shame.
I'm not really going anywhere with this post so I'll finish by saying I was very pleased with our performance today. Although we still need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal and our pace dropped towards the end of the second half, everyone put a good shift in.. I'd take 1-0 wins all season.

Thanks
Chris

Adams cross was perfect for suarez goal. With his right too. He is a quality player and will develop under KK and the team around him.
Even they hit their own crossbar for us today, plus their keeper had a great game (shock , horror)
We played some great football, didn't panic, kept the gameplan. I don't care Who we play in the league, 3 pts is all that matters. Well done boys, same again please.
PS, Suarez is the most exciting player I have seen in a red shirt for years . Imagine trying to mark him, nightmare!

ED's not a rumour just wondering what you think of Erik Lamela he looks good to me there compering him to Neymar i'd be hoping we'd get him alot cheaper than Neymar whats your opinion tankz {Ed001's Note - I haven't seen a lot of him at all, I wouldn't want to judge him on that myself. He has shown some flashes of class in those bits and pieces though.}

You know roma payed something like 15m+ on him right so they wont sell him for cheap at all. {Ed002's Note - There is no chance at all of Lamela joining Liverpool in January.}

Hi Ed's, was Damien Comolli at the Emirates?
Cheers,

LG. {Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

No problem, I always ask because I will not believe anything other than what you, the Ed's, say. {Ed001's Note - I will try and find out for you tomorrow, I was just busy with my daughter today, not often she still wants to spend time with her daddy these days!}

Thanks very much. :p

LG.

Aaaw. Get you two. Shall the rest of us make ourselves scarce?

after looking at the last few games we have the new daglaish(SUAREZ) what we need now is a RUSH and ithink that that is what we're missing if we had a out and out goalscorer we would a lot closer to top than we are now
the amount we're creating is fantastic we just have to finish these chances off

Fulham have a tall welsh player called Peniket who is only 18 SIGN HIM NOOOOOW!

Thanks, KickingBro
