Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

11 Mar 2011 23:52:17
I have no basis on know how or someone providing me with a rumour - but if McMahon has been relieved of his duties (don't get me wrong no1 likes to see someone out of work) but if the reason's are correct then that's a good thing - we need players regardless if they are U8's or first team to improve as players so fair play to Liverpool for doing this - and thanks John for doing your best.

I think we should look at the ghanaian U21 world cup winning squad, there's some affordable young talent and flair which will surely blossom. What you think ed? {Ed001's Note - personally I would prefer to see us coach young players through from our own youth ranks and only buy players that are pretty much ready to drop straight into the team.}

I read 2 posts on here yesterday saying "It looks like John McMahon's days at LFC are over" Yet again this site was the 1st place to tell us what's happening behind closed doors at LFC.

That's why i do not read newspapers or believe any articles on the web. Because this site tells me all i need to know.

I see the Gerrard critics have dwindled. And finally believe that Stevie has had an injury most of the season.

Ps. Keep up the good work lads.

Because he who i will never again name wore nuber 9 already in the competition.

With Pep Segura been put in charge of the reserves until the summer i hope in the new set up being planned to start next season that he and Rodolfo Borrell are a major part of those plans if not charged with implementing the plans.

Not being funny, but NESV have only been with us through one transfer window, spending almost £60m on just two good players, in a January window. That was more than City spent. How can you say that we're not spending enough after that and after such a short time?

We spend about 2 million net spend in that January window. Although the club didn't plan it to be that way. City spent 27 million net and Chelsea spent 70 million net spend.

I expect us to get Young, Adam, Merveaux according to itk's and the ed's

Chelsea are looking to get Aguero and Sanchez, they've already held talks and they've put a bid in. There is absolutely no way we can compete with City or Chelsea.

11 Mar 2011 23:15:44
How big can chelsea and city spend with the financial fair play rules coming into effect?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'd imagine much less than they already are. Neither has a huge fan base, particularly Citeh.

{Ed001's Note - City and Chelsea still seem likely to spend biggest to be honest.}

This is why we'll struggle catching up with them. Both City and Chelsea have stronger teams and squads then us, how can we catch up when we're spending less then them two?

Sure we can get a few decent signings like Young, Payet, Adam etc but how can we catch up if teams like Chelsea are interested in Aguero, Hamsik, Ganso, Sanchez. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea spend 100 million net spend while we spend 20 million net tops, which is a decent amount normally but in comparison to Chelsea's, it's blows it out the water.

If someone can explain how we can catch these teams up while we are spending less and currently have a weaker squad?

Ed's that defo me trying to post from my phone. I've been "working" and will be using the phone more often. I've been posting during work and they either havn't reached you, you just didn't want to put them up or you didn't recognise the IP address, i'd like to think it was the latter.

I've even tried to post some on the Man'ure site and they never went up. And you know how respected my opinion is over there.

I know I'm a bit late, but can anyone tell me why Carroll was wearing number 29 against Braga? Also, is it official that Reina is leaving? I see many posts of people thinking he'll go and can't find any statement of his. And finally, poor Fernando Torres. He has been playing like turd (I watched him against B'pool and felt sorry for Chelsea, no joke!) and now he tries to deflect the blame by talking about Liverpool being less fun than Chelsea. Well, I miss the Torres of old, but the Torres of 2010-2011 was actually one of the resons why the club was underperforming. I'm glad he's happy at Chelsea, I know I was happy when Agger forearmed him in the face. I moved on at that very moment.

I think that the only goalkeeper who is reasonable and good enough to replace Reina is Maarten Stekelenburg. i strongly believe that Liverpool will put in an offer for him for about 20-35 mill. . . .

No way! I think we should use that 35 mil to purchase Obertan and Bebe. . now there's some talent!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed recently, but Peter Gulcasi has been the sub keeper for games not Brad Jones.
Is this because he is injured or is it Dalglish's decision that he is better?
Ed or anyone else can you shed some light on this?

chickey {Ed001's Note - Gulacsi is a better keeper.}

Hes good on the ball, can supply good balls in the box, hes 26 but could easily keep him for 5 years, fairly quick and can play CB so that's a bonus especially because we need 1. However we want Baines and Enrique too and they're ahead in the pecking list but you never know

To Irish Kev. thanks for the kind words. . i only put what i felt and im glad you agreed. . looking ahead on your behalf i wouldn't worry too much about Braga. if you don't put at least 3 past 'em at Anfield i'll be amazed. they fell to pieces at the Emirates. .(sadly we did over there - but hey ho!)
anyway good luck in Europe.
hope Carroll manages to stick the head on that t**t that elbowed him. . but don't kick the ball away unless its under .4 of a second. you know the European rules? ?

its on the sky website but i just can't belive it to be true, i just thought he was alergic to being tackled.
also will we see teams sprinkling new grass seeds on the pitch before playing city? on the sly like. ha
mikey {Ed001's Note - it is a fairly common allergy, I was reading the other day about a player that suffers with grass allergies, it was a famous French player I think.}

Bit of useless info but the great West Indian batsman Lawrence Rowe suffered from a grass allergy. Could well be true about Balotelli though, especially if the side effects include a swollen head. .

Only way you'll be in the CL next season is by winning it. Lets see where you are in a couple of years after 'arry has gone (either prison or England).
- - - - - - - - - - -
I think UEFA changed that rule. I think you now only qualify if you finish in top 4 in england. .so Tottingham (as Sven Goran Eriksson would say) will never qualify again. .Leeds mkII

Rewflo

That's not quite right. The rule did change but the team who wins the Champions League will get to defend it the following season. If they don't finish in their country's allocated places, then the team in the last qualifying spot will fall out. In other words, should Chelsea finish 4th behind United, Arsenal & Man City and Spurs win the CL, then Chelsea will loose their place. (Not as if that's gonna happen, just an example. .)

Ryan 'O {Ed001's Note - actually the change was not that, the defending champions have always had automatic entry to the group stages, until the English FA spotted a loophole when we finished outside the top 4 and tried to shoehorn Everton in as 4th placed finishers as well as us. They just altered the rules to stop it happening again and made it a maximum of 4 teams from any one country.}

Kenny, you have been Liverpool's savior. But, do us a favor and let Dani Pacheco play.
, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
hear hear, give the lad a go, you won't lose anything and if he plays shoite we will all say get rid, if eds say he is bad at training why take him with you and put him on the bench, it must be a waste of a space, give the lad a go, you never know, i know you know better you are the king, but why take him if you have no intension of using him, can't see the sense, flummaxed jimmybosun,

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
I second this notion, on the few occasions when pacheco did play earlier in europa under Woy he did ok, always looking to get forward, not afraid to shoot or try something different.
I know people will probably say he is a liability because its only 5 times out of 10 he pulls it off, but that's what Luis Garcia was like, hit and miss but he made big contributions to the team.
Plus pacheco can only improve if he is played right? and he can't possibly be worse than Cole or Poulsen.

I think Liverpool must be the most frustrating team to watch on the planet. They play out of their skin one week and the next brutal! People can't complain about not having Suarez or Gerrard, the majority of that team that played against Braga played against United. It makes me laugh how yesterday people were saying Spearing is going to become a good player for Liverpool over the years. I had not seen enough of him to rate him but going on last nights performance he's on the same level as Poulsen. Now Braga weren't great but we gave them the chances and made them look like a decent side. i do believe we can bounce back from that and go through to the next stage but if that was against a good team last night we probably would of lost 2 or 3 nil. Not one fan can defend the team last night, Carroll did well when he came on and caused trouble for the defence but all we kept on doing was hoofing the ball up front to him, we needed someone to go down the wings and put in a good cross rather than Krygiakos, Sktrtel or Carra hoofing the ball up in hope of Carroll knocking the ball down for Kuyt. We were absolutely shocking. We lacked creativity, pace and a player who is commanding and take control of the game and in the middle. There was no link up play anywhere on the pitch. It reminded me of how we used to play under Hodgson. On the basis of the team performance we need wide players an Alonso type of player in the middle, another striker and a whole new defence.

Barry B

i think the creativity was lacking last nite, i don't think cole is fully fit yet, as i wud expect him to be the creative spark in europe that suarez is being in the prem

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
The problem last night in my opinion was team selection, I know we are short in areas but still silly to play 3 defensive midfielders, we only had 3 (thats if you count cole. .which i dont) attacking players on the pitch.

Its been that way in all european away games this season no matter who was in charge. It could be worse, we couldve got beaten 2-0 by a team which is good on their travels (like city). Instead we got beat 1-0 by a team which does not travel well in europe.

On the subject of Cole. . I don't think he will EVER regain fitness. He's a professional footballer and I'm pretty sure I could outrun him in both speed and stamina. He needs to work harder in training for me and KK has shown too much leniency.

Gerrard out for a month after groin op! To the so called supporters who wanted him out of the team, do any of you idiots now understand why he wasn't playing to his normal level? Let's see how we do without him, and put all your faith in Lucas who everybody on here seems to rate as the better player! I no who I would rather have, but it's all about opinions even though all yours are wrong and I am RIGHT.

You are WRONG,

We never said Lucas was BETTER than Gerrard, We said Lucas was good enough to wear the shirt, But people who speak like you, Who put down players like you are 1 thing, A band wagon fan, KK back, Great owners, And here you are talking about something you no nothing about, Typical of a Blue nose, Your looking for the Everton page mate, And you mean Felliani too.

Nobody rates Lucas as better than Gerrard? that would be madness. In terms of talent Gerrard is probably 3 times the player lucas is, the only area Lucas currently exceeds Gerrard is workrate and effort. .and no I don't just mean this season, I mean last year too.
Gerrard is a far superior footballer. Nuff said.

Next Man City manager is RAFA BENITEZ. Mancini is near to sacking if he gets out of FA cup and UEFA cup. Man City has found Benitez as the only one who can take them to Europe considering his record of Europe with Liverpool and are willing to give him money to waste in the transfer market.
So do not be surprised when next month u hear Mascha saying he wants to come to England back.

Summer ins buying players that are actually possible n not splashing out 90m;

Adam 8m + Kenny really wants him n needs him
Dann 5m + i think. Scouse lad solid player hed love to join and in a position were lacking
A Johnson 15m + incredible young player and worthy for replacing A.Young who sez he wants to join united
Robinson 5m + great english keeper with still a good few years under his belt (if reina goes which i think he will)
Marvaeux Free good signing that will simply add some more width and pace to our play
Wickham 10m good young striker with great potential
And for lb im happy with johnson there and kelly on the right so no need to spend unneeded money

Torres has stated in the London evening standard he has a better relationship with the players at chelski than he ever had at Liverpool. I really hope they don't finish in the top four and miss out on a place in the CL. If he is coming out with comments like that good ridance he has gone, we now have the super suarez and Carroll who will lead us to the league title next year.

Not really Liverpool banter - but I hope that Chelsea sign Kaka.
Another 50m down the tubes. Cos he's had it as well. Not suitable for the Prem at all.
You can see the way Roman's gonna go in Summer. Galacticos (Retired) Mk 2.
U having it Ed ?

Question for Ed. . Joe Cole says he wishes to hit "top form" AGAIN at Liverpool. When was he ever any good? ?
He can't possibly be in the squad for next season. We need to get rid of the bad players in the squad(Cole, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Ngog) and the ones on loan (Insua, El Zhar, Degan, Konchesky, Aquilani) if we want to compete for the league and a Champions League spot for next season.
I think we'll get at least 5 players in the summer:
Ashley Young
Sylvain Marveaux
Xabi Alonso (he's coming back trust me)
Aly Cissokho
Charlie Adam

I'd be happy with these editions, i'd do anything to see Xabi Alonso back in a Liverpool jersey.

Ed why has john mcmahon been dismissed? {Ed001's Note - he was not felt to be able to improve the players in his charge the way he should have been. FERNANDO TORRES QUOTING ON LFC AND CHELSEA AND ABOUT HIS NEW TEAM'

"I expected it to be more distant, given that this has a name for being a superstar team. There are better personal relations and more jokes between the players than at Liverpool, where everything is a lot more serious.

"Here, you don't have to demonstrate that you are a professional, it's taken as the minimum. Winning trophies is all they care about here and, for me, the Champions League is the dream - no doubt.

"After having won the European Championship and the World Cup, it's the maximum challenge left.

"Obviously I want to win the Premier League too - it's one of the great prizes in the game and I honestly think that we will win more than one while I am here."

Torres also revealed uncertainty that over Liverpool's ownership helped make up his mind to leave Anfield.

"I knew I was an idol for the fans, but it wasn't the same any more, " he said. "The institution was in chaos with the sale. There was all this talk of possible projects.

"In many ways it reminded me of Atletico Madrid - a great history, many ideas, but without money. It needed time. I don't have that.

"People aren't honest in the world of football. You can't say the truth or be clear with people. It's a business and nobody is anyone's friend."

GOOD LUCK TORRES, BECAUSE CHELSKI WILL NOT WIN A CHAMPIONS LEAUGUE UNTIL YOU RETIRE MATE. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR FACE WHEN WE LIFT IT AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF SEASONS INDER THE KINGGGGGGGG! !

Haven't posted on here for a while, but still of course an avid reader. So Gerrard will miss 3 games for definite - Braga, Sunderland and WBA games, and could possibly be back for the City game followed by the Arsenal game.

I have a couple of points.

The first being how great it is that the sorry mancs are now coming on here to try and annoy us with rubbish twaddle about how great they are. . where were they when they 'were' doing well?. They certainly didn't have time to be popping on here trying to wind us up. I think we now have them running scared!
They are on the verge of 19 titles. just ONE more than us. and we havent won it for 20 years ! Ur only great when ur 19 ahead of us! :)
I think that the tide is turning, Both Mancs and Chelsea will have to do some major overhauling in the next 2 seasons, Fergie won't be around much longer, Chelsea change managers quick enough to guarentee Ancellotti won't be around for much longer. And Liverpool have already begun the rebuilding process, were maybe 4/ 5 players away from being a huge force in the Prem again.
Ive read today that Torres is still yapping about us. Interesting that he still feels he needs to explain himself when we have all pretty much forgotten him so, it makes me wonder, is Mr Torres realising his big mistake? I hope so! He certainly looks like it, the way he is sulking around Stamford bridge trying hard to fit in.
Chelsea the team of 'Jokers and assumed professionals'. Woop Woop enjoy it then Fernando. while our players actually are professional and get on with doing their job which is to restore LFC back upon its Perch!
Yesterday proved we don't have strength in depth again. that's our biggest problem. we can't rely on the likes of Poulsen and Spearing to run a midfield.
Roll on summer, lets get some fresh faces in and play the Liverpool way!

In a post last week one of the Posters (LIVERPOOL FAN) Has slammed Luis Suarez as the Poster feels that Suarez has not worth what we paid for him and he also stated that Suarez scored was a Fluke. SUAREZ has been a Great Character when he handled the ball in World cup to see his side through Semis. He is a character who hates to see his Club go down. So, folks let forget Traitors and move on. {Ed002's Note - The worst offenders for posting nonsense on other fans' sites are the Liverpool fans by a light year. Whilst some fans are few in number and just don't bother with it (e.g. Chelsea), clearly the Manchester United fans retaliate. Some will not pass the review stage, but you simply cannot bleat about retaliation to something started by the Liverpool fans. If people stop raising the issue no doubt the problem will go away. As a matter of fact I used to post on caughtoffside until they brought in new editors (who completely make stuff up rather than reproduce stories from the media like it was originally done) and Liverpool had the highest number of posters such as posts from once again spurs and united fans, and when I wanted to post back something on their articles on their section there were barely any posts there (they would have like 15 posts while Liverpool articles were probably a minimum of 50 posts). I would also like to say the chelsea fans don't really post on other sites much, as I know we surpass them but from what I have collected from various football sites the largest offenders are spurs and united fans (they bother liverpool, arsenal and even chelsea)

{Ed002's Note - We are not talking about other sites such as caughtwhatever, we are talking about the other pages associated with this site (where the Liverpool fans banter about Torres, Manchester United debt etc.). If you do not think that Liverpool fans clutter up the banter sites of other clubs you are wrong. But again, you are keeping the subject high profile. Well done.}

Ed, do you rate Josh McEachran? {Ed002's Note - He is very young of course, I think only 18 recently, so it is tough to say with any level of confidence. From what I have seen he plays with a maturity beyond his years and I suspect he will get a season on loan next year to gain some experience. He is very well thought of by past and present coaching staff - with Ray Wilkins saying some very nice things about him recently.}

So if people don't agree with you then they are idiots and 'so called supporters?' Grow up son, and i am a big fan of Gerrard the only problem with him is his injuries are becoming more common and this latest one does not prove you are right, it proves we are! Would you not rather have a similar player who is available for all games or someone who is always in the treatment room

To the deluded spud:

You can go for Aguero but you will not sign him or any other 'big name' player as you can't/ won't pay the wages. good 'ol 'arry has already stated that the club will not pay more than 150,000 a week so why would Aguero or any other top player sign for less money and pay more tax.

Well done for struggling past an old Milan side good luck in the next round as Gallas said hope you don't get Barca as you'll receive a proper footballing lesson. Only way you'll be in the CL next season is by winning it. Lets see where you are in a couple of years after 'arry has gone (either prison or England).

keep dreaming but thank you for stopping by our site and adding your thoughts no matter how inaine (that's pointless to you spud), now be a good little person and sod off back to your own site and leave a real big team to carry on their business.

Ed, do you worry that there is a chance we could turn into a long ball team now that we have Carroll upfront? {Ed002's Note - No, but think of the options provided from the wide area now.}

11 Mar 2011 07:29:28
Ed, why was Rafael Benitez chosen for the manager post in 2004 despite Jose Mourinho being the hot favorite after winning Champions League with Porto(more importantly he knocked out ManU) and publicly stating that he would love to manage Liverpool?

Also, why was Kenny Dalglish not given a chance to manage Liverpool after Roy Evans had left and Kenny himself had left Newcastle?

Vinu

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea persuaded Mourinho that Stamford Bridge was the desination for him - Benitez was available and took the job when offered. There is nothing sinister in it.}

What is Torres going on about? It's makes me wonder whether Terry has got him held by the throat and Cashley Cole is pointing a gun at him to come out with the nonsense he keeps repeating.

Now it was the chaos at Anfield that made him want to leave. . . in January?

The silly apse is digging himself deeper and deeper in the mire with Liverpool fans still trying to justify why he left.

We aint bothered now Torres we've moved on. IF you had the nous you would have concentrated on the former regime, stating that a lack of investment turned Liverpool into a has been club. You were lied to by H&G, you were upset by the sale of Alonso in particular, you want to win trophies and win them now. We could have understood and even agreed with you on all the points above. In fact we'd have nailed your departure firmly at the door of H&G and made them the scapegoats.

But you "decided to leave the LFC chaos in the first 10-12 days of January? " Didn't want to give the new owners time, wanted to move to a spent force with shifty characters (Terry/ Cole), stated 10 days into January that you always honoured your contracts, would never leave to play for another club in England and on and on it goes.

Just admit it. You made one big mistake, in fact two. Your exit was less than subtle, unlike Alonso's who despite wanting to leave the club did so with dignity and the respect of the club foremost in his mind and you've made THE biggest cock up going to Chelsea. Alonso will always be welcome at our club. That is how you leave Liverpool FC. I wonder why you are so different?

You've elected to join a club that sacks managers in the Real Madrid style and treats employees like Ray Wilkins with utter contempt. Mind you i think you've found the right club.

Now move on, stop releasing statements on why you left. If you want to drag it up all the time, we will continue to remind you of your antics. You haven't been mentioned on here for over a month but we will not allow your comments to go unanswered.

You, Mr Torres are fast becoming part of the rotten barrel of apples that we had at the club. Your engineered exit has exposed the lies, your attempts via your management agents to justify why you left are pitiful and unsuccessful.

Clear off, i have no time for people i do not respect.

UCCM, I'm going to have to say you're a tad younger than me, otherwise this list would not be in this order and i do think that i'll get a reply to me equally to me!

Now i'm torn between Shanks and Paisley as the best ever boss. Dalglish doesn't come anyway near these two.

If depends on your point of view, what was more important building the foundations from squat and giving a good platform or expanding it and making it into a dynasty?

I grew up in the Paisley era. There is no equal in my mind. That said i do not for one moment wish to disrespect what Shanks did. I have no argument with anyone if they put Shanks first and Paisley second or vice versa.

But Dalglish will not split these two. In my mind it is an utter disgrace that Bob was not knighted for his services to the game. He is, in my mind, the greatest manager to have walked the earth.

What a pity that access to managers is so much better now than then?

Well Bob im 25, So you probably are lol

I mainly grew up on Houlier to be honest, I wasnt allowed to support Liverpool at a young age (My Dadas a Man Utd Fan & My Grandad), So i had to watch them, I was late into Liverpool, But i can tell you one thing now, When i first watched Liverpool EVEN on TV, I felt the passion so intensly i knew they were the only team for me, You could say they were my first love lol, So my opinions are based on what i hear from pundits, Fellow fans, The Statue of Bill ect, But if i was to give my opinion on what I KNOW I.E Managers iv'e seen, This is it,

1- Kenny Dalglish
2- Rafa Benitez
3- Gerrard Houlier
4- No manager (Summer 2010, Just after rafa left)
5- No Manager (The 2 hours after Roy left)
6- Roy Hodgson

We defo need a LB, I wud love to see Phillip Lahm at LFC. we need a world class DM, I wudve loved to seen Mascherano stay. we also need 2 wingers with skill, pace and crossers of the ball for Carroll and Suarez, i.e A.Young, A.Johnson, E.Elia or A.Turan. We dnt really need a 3rd choice striker yet, Kuyt's doing a fine job.

Referring to the lfc / mutd BANTER surly if u dnt let utd, s post, s pass ur review stage ther wud be no replies from lfc fans . . . Forgive me if I'm rong but it only creates bad tension on the site , not really banter

{Ed002's Note - The worst offenders for posting nonsense on other fans' sites are the Liverpool fans by a light year. Whilst some fans are few in number and just don't bother with it (e.g. Chelsea), clearly the Manchester United fans retaliate. Some will not pass teh review stage, but you simply cannot bleat about retaliation to something started by teh Liverpool fans. If people stop raising the issue no doubt the problem will go away. Until then, you will simply need to suck it up. }

"The Madness of King Roy XXXV"

A rather surreal experience reading the post on here over the past 12 hours.
First there is the enormous negativity (hardly backed by facts) concerning the performance against Braga and then the shameful responses of some red posters to the children from Spurs and MUFC who have posted on here.

BRAGA: this season after November was always going to be about maintaining our poor position and trying to scrape together the remnants of the season. The recent surge under KK has deluded a few fans and we suddenyl believe that we should be winning games and continuing this 'false' run towards the end of the season.
I don't consider this season anything more than cleaning the decks, bedding in the new onwers and allowing KK, DC, SC and the players a chance to get the house in order for 2011/ 12.
Braga are not a pushover and never should have been thought of as such.

PACHECO: if you say 'in KK we trust' then you can hardly bang on when he uses his management skills and does not use him from the bench.
If we have accepted that one of the world's top strikers (Torres) was allowed to be sold, then why should we unduly concern ourselves with the departure of Pacheco? There are other brighter fish in our barrel (Suso, da Silva . .) and his departure would cause no more ripple than Torres' leaving.

SPURS POSTERS: stop bitching to the eds about posting the immature banter from these Spurs and MUFC fans. This a banter page and they are allowed to post on here. The serious point comes home when you actually make the effort to read the pages devoted to those two clubs. They are small and hardly have any postings. This is where the most banter is and where the real interest for football fans resides.
MUFC do have something to crow about and respect that, but please! Spurs fans?
I cannot get even a tremble of anger or excitement at them reaching the last eight of the Champions League. I said last night - translate their success into a ruler and it would measure two inches. At that level, we are now 49 feet and still counting!

CARROLL: there was enough there in 10 minutes to show me that we will see a great deal more of Luis Suarez, Lucas, Steven Gerrard and Meireles on the scoresheets the way he will perform.

WHINGER: I was told (like Steven Seagal) that the way to defend yourself is to explode in a flurry of hand movements and shouting and overwhelm your opponent. Is this what Whinger is doing?
Having failed to convince the football world that every tackle on his players is not a tackle, but a "vengeful, spiteful, nasty and illegal savage act of brutality in stealing the ball from his VERY young and talented players, " he now rages against the governing body.
Unlike the cadre of clowns who infest the FA and call themselves in charge, at least UEFA has tried to move the game on.
There has to be a stop to all this sooner, rather than later. Whinger and Ferguson are out of control and need reining in.
Next thing you know, Ferguson's mates (Bruce, Holloway, Pulis, The Cockney Comedy Act) will weigh in with an attack on somebody to support him.
Question is - who can Whinger rely on to back him up?! ***

Steve Parker

*** maybe the boy with odd twisted mouth (Jack Wilshere) who Tweets such inanity that it gives chavs a name, will come to Whinger's aid?

{Ed002's Note - It is the Liverpool fans dragging out all of this "banter" with the Manchester United fans, so perhaps it would dry up if they stopped responding. I don't know Macca but he has been correct sometimes in teh past and I understand he has good sources. Clearly we do have different views on certain things (e.g. he thinks Benzema is all but complete and, whilst there may be a chance of Benzema moving to Liverpool, I think any deal is a long way off) but if I were in your position reading his posts I would give credence to them.}

Who i believe needs to be sold in summer:
*Cole £5-8m
*Jovanovic £5-8m
*Poulsen £3-4m
*Spearing £2.5-3.5m
*Nogo £5-6m
*Kyriakos £2-3m
Total Income = £22.5m-£32.5m

If we sold the above rubbish we would be left with enough to go and buy a quality CM, and then with funding from Henry we would have more than enough for a Winger and a LB, looking at how it stands, maybe 2 wingers.
With the names being bounced around, these players maybe Payet/ M'Villa, Marveux/ Young and possibly Warnock?

Ed/ s how would you feel about the sale of these players, and who do you think may be brought in?

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - Aside from Joe Cole and perhaps Spearing, I think those players could well move on - as will Aquilani, Pacheco and Konchesky. These pages are littered with my thoughts about who will come in but I expect Marveaux to make the move as long as his injury clears up. Additionally, another wide player and a third striker. Add to that a midfield player, perhaps two, and the team should be set for next year.}

Played quite badly from what iv read/ heard, I was an ante-natal class!
It isn't all bad though, fair enough we have lost first leg, but only to a penalty, 1 goal, coming back to Anfield this is easily overturned.
I would put my money on a 2-0 win at Anfield. Bear in mind, Braga have been very strong at home this season, even ending Benfica's record breaking 18 games unbeaten in the league there.
Its a whole different kettle of fish when your at Anfield, a stadium renowned the world over for the european nights there.
A bad performance away and yet were still in the tie, looking for a decent attacking formation on the return, with Carrol up top, with either Gerrard or Meireles in behind?

A Liverpool and Manchester United fan were involved in a head on collision one night. To their amazement they were both completely unhurt although both cars were damaged beyond repair.
To celebrate their lucky escape they agree to put their differences aside from that moment on.
The Liverpool fan goes to the boot of his car and fetches out a 12 year old bottle of whisky. He hands it to the United fan who exclaims " May Liverpool and Utd fans live together, forever in peace and harmony" and then knocks back half of the bottle. He offers the bottle back to the Liverpool fan who says " No thanks, I will wait until the police get here!"

Is it me or do the majority of games that are broadcast on FIVE we loose or play badly in. Thoughts welcome.

I think also the commentary is so dire it doesn't help, infact makes the games feel worse.

Also is the Europa League recorded in HD, cause i don't think FIVE should be allowed to broadcast games unless they pay the extra to show the games in HD.

Rant over.

Is that enough for ye Scousers? You've shot down the pecking order. No top class player thinks highly of you, let alone want to play for you. Ye've fallen far behind.

In the summer, Chelsea will buy Aguero, Sanchez, Subotic, Van der Wiel, Pjanic, Lukaku and some others.
We (the Red Devils) will sign Pastore, M'Villa, Goetze, Chamberlain, Marin and Neuer.

Benzema, Adam, Rossi, Richards, Baines, Mata, Gabby Milito and a few others.
Arsenal will also do a bit of good business.

You Scousers will continue buying the second-rate also-rans you've always bought. Young, Maveaux, Payet, Horoa, Gervino etc.
You know it, the world knows it.

The last 2 performances away from home in europa league have been shocking - but playing 3 defensive midfielders what can you expect? The opposition in this comp are there for the taking, none of them should be feared so why such negative tactics? It's no surprise to me that our away following in europa league has fallen - who can blame them for not wanting to watch this type of showing. A lot of talk takes place afterwards but lets just play these games as if they're one off games and i'm more than confident with the right team selection we'll get through without any problems

Is there likely to be retrospective action against Kaka for his assault on Carrol it was a dispicable assault and would end up in court if done on the high street

Not a new rumour but one I have been told will almost certainly happen. Karim Benzema is basically a formality and will sign in July. I like him as a player but am not sure if this is Commoli or the Kings decision, which worries me. John W.
. . . . . .
Good I think benzema is a top player, yeah he has is issues but I'm sure kenny can sort that out.
He's definitely has an eye for goal, which is all apsed about.

Whilst £35m was big money, Carroll showed last night that he is the type of player that will offer the manager lots of options. His introduction last night changed the game. He is great in the air, holds the ball up great and lays off the ball very well. He is going to be awesome and when he develops an understanding with Suarez it is going to be hell for the defenders. I would like to say a huge thank you to Nando. His selfishness has resulted in a huge improvement in our squad and at no cost whatsoever. Another positive from last night was that Spearing confirmed that he is very capable of being a squad player. He has limited top flight experience yet has put in competent performances each time he has started. Kenny is being proved right in giving Spearing a new contract. Where I believe we are lacking most is on the flanks we lack pace (this is not helped by Martin Kelly's absence through injury). Ed, surely the acquisition of 1 or 2 speedy and talented wingers must be an absolute priority in the summer. Reality Red

Morning eds. i think alot of posters need to maybe look at the bigger picture, we win and most rave about us, we loose and all the haters come out. kenny can only use the players he has. hes been here less than six months. give the bloke a chance. success doesn't come over night. some players do need a to be moved on but there is nothing he can do about that until the window opens. i don't rate poulson but if he is training really hard and putting the effort in then surely he deserves a chance than some one who is not?? im not sayin this is right or wrong but if kenny decides its what he wants then im with him all the way. im positive we will go through at anfield and most will be happy again but as i said at the start, lets take a step back and look at the bigger picture. in kenny i trust! !

. . . . . . . . . .
I agree with you Matty, last night that was probably our strongest squad available apart from Carroll not starting.
What we have to remember is that braga looked rubbish aswell, so I'm confident that nxt leg we can see them off.
On the poulson thing tho players can train as hard as they want, but its obvious that poulson has no effect on a game we may aswell start with 10 men then maybe the others will try harder. So I think its time to start with one of the kids maybe coady, cus like Kelly has shown we might just realise how good he is.
All in all our squad is rubbish out wad highlighted again last night and roll on the summer.

It's hard to know where to begin really. Once again a dire showing in Europe, and a bit of a let off for us.

We stormed it against the Mancs, but it seems we flatter to deceive - again. When you evaluate our 2 games againt Sparta Prague, the West Ham game and last night - the underlying trend is absolutely awful.

I well remember when we were dominating every season almost, but the Mancs used to raise their game against us, and beat us on a regular basis. I fear this is now the reverse. I mean, come on everone, Braga were nothing to fear last night. From what I saw they are not a good side. We just set our stall out so defensively, we didn't put them under any pressure in the first half.

Unfortunately, this once again highlights how weak our squad really is, and we will never know how the rising young lads could improve things, because they are not given any chances on a regular basis.

I still expect us to progress to the next round, but, dear me, where is our back up fire power - there just isn't any.

Still an awful lot of work to be done.

Someone wrote - In response to this. . I doubt liverpool uses FM to get their players

Just saying, but Jose Mourinho uses the FM database, as do lots of top clubs. It's arguably the most comprehensive scouting network in the world. If FM says you've got potential, the chances are that you do. . . just saying. But the 'Turan & Honda' brigade are irritating I agree. From what I gather he (Turan) has barely played this season due to injury, suspension and car-crashes - yet these people claim to see these 'amazing players' in action, you'd swear he was tearing Europe apart! As for Honda - where are these people watching all the Russian football?? (and don't give me the old 'World Cup star' rubbish - the new Diouf maybe! However though, if FM reckons you're good then you probably are (so buy Turan! ! He's amazing! LOL! ). I'd trust the FM database over the media when it comes to spotting talent though! For example - Chris Smalling is pants! They'll figure it out eventually!

Kenny, you have been Liverpool's savior. But, do us a favor and let Dani Pacheco play.

hear hear, give the lad a go, you won't lose anything and if he plays shoite we will all say get rid, if eds say he is bad at training why take him with you and put him on the bench, it must be a waste of a space, give the lad a go, you never know, i know you know better you are the king, but why take him if you have no intension of using him, cant see the sense, flummaxed jimmybosun,

In all honesty, do we really want M'Villa. Admittedly, I am basing this on clips I have seen of him on youtube, and so am not in the best position to pass judgement. However, all I saw in him was a big shot (el a John Arne Riise) which we do not need, and should not want. In fact, regardless of the power M'Villa obtained, he required a deflection to actually score.
Basically, this is a plea: Don't sign M'villa. Get Adam and Young in. Rely on Lucas. Promote some youth (Coady maybe), and look through the lower English leagues for unearthed gems. (Oh, and get rid of all the pack horses!)

Of our current squad, only; suarez, carroll, meireles, gerrard, johnson, agger, carragher, kelly and reina are good enough for the 1st team (and of these players agger is always injured and carragher only has another 12 months left in him), and only cole, kuyt, lucas and skrtel are good enough to be squad players. This means we only have 13 players who are experienced and good enough to play for us. We have alot of young players that are nearly good enough such as; wilson, pacheco, spearing and shelvey, who will be good enough but need experience or maybe to go on loan, and we have some great youth players such as suso, coady, robinson, n'goo, silva, sterling, banton and thomas who with time will all be great players, but are not ready yet in my opinion. this leaves 13-17 players we can relay on which is not enough. to solve this problem in the summer I would:
OUTS: jones, aurelio, jovanovic, kyrgiakos, maxi, n'gog, poulson, konchesky, degan, insua, el zher and aquilani.
players out on loan to premiership clubs: wilson and pacheco
this leaves 15 1st team players and a good youth team. i would bring in the following players to strengthen both the team and squad
INS: clichy, kjear, m'vila, adam, marveaux, wickham, young and cavini

i know it all sounds abit negative and like a wish list, but even half this business would put a smile on my face. your thoughts would be greatly appreciated ed {Ed001's Note - I think Spearing and Darby are two who are just not good enough unfortunately, probably Amoo as well. I also don't see the need for Kjaer, whenever I have seen him he looks sluggish.}

If our squad was big enough next season a loan deal for Wilson or Shelvey wouldn't be too bad. And I wouldn't bother going for Wickham personally, he'd cost about £15m if not more and it isn't worth it considering he's not even proven at Championship level let alone Premiership level. It is a massive risk, and that kind of money could be wisely used elsewhere.}

Lucas is 5 out of 10 player normally, 7 out of ten
when on his best 3 out of ten when bad.when team is
strengthened in the summer i don't think he will play as much or if he does play it won't be with can't pass the ball forward poulson so either way its going to get
better.bring on the summer i can't f****n wait.

" second best LFC manager of all time"

I love King Kenny as much as any liverpool fan but let me ask you something
2nd best LFC manager of all time? Which one did you forget Shankly or Paisley?

Personal opinion

1- Bill Shankly - Built the team up.
2- King Kenny Dalglish - Greatest player/ Player Manager
3- Bob Paisley - Love him but love KK more.
4- SIR Roy Hodgson - LOL, Yea right.
