wow. Suarez 4 - chile 0 and still 20 mins left!

Sensesational, shoulda saved 2 for Chelsea and 2 for City though :p

Hope to see his goals!

Sensational* sorry.

The guy is a fantastic player. I read his comments on how he would like to stay with us, beyond the 5 years. And how he loves the City, Club, people etc, etc.

I took them with a pinch of salt, we've heard it all before (Torres). But hopefully he's still with us, in ten years time.

Ps. If you're looking his recent comments, they are in the Metro.

Apology's Ed, but I didn't know what page to put this on, but it is football related.

What really, really, really does my f^cking head in, is why o why do we persist in only having one ball to play with at Anfield. Surely if we wanted to keep a high tempo during a game, we should have loads of ballboys, with loads of balls to keep the game flowing. I've been wondering for years why we don't do this?

If anyone can explain this to me, it would be gratefully welcomed, thanks.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Blair, this has been discussed before and the only reason we do not use ballbaoys/girls I think is a safety one? Not much space for them around the pitch and they would easily get clattered by the players? Agree it would be nice if we could though......or maybe we can only afford one ball?
Iggypop {Ed001's Note - I seem to remember the multiball system being trialled and dropped because they kept ending up with more than one ball on the pitch at a time. It caused more hold ups than anything.}

Good point Ed001, I'd forgotten that. Besides, why do we need balpeople when we have the crowd to chuck it back in?
Iggypop {Ed001's Note - exactly mate, that's what keeps causing hold ups in games which do use it. The crowd chucks it back while there is already a ball in play and it all has to be stopped again.}

Carroll and Charlie each have one stuffed up their shirts, don't they? The speed they move though, it would be quicker waiting for the crowd to throw it back!
Only joking.

I've just read a piece by macca and I'm rather surprised by the content. It's full of coulda, woulda, shoulda which isn't normally his (or her) style. We can until January only use what we have and looking backwards is not looking forwards (if you get my grift, no stupid comments,please!). Some new players will be successful and others will not. This is the nature of the game - always has been and always will be. I keep saying that we should get behind the players 100% and I personally believe that most of them will come good. We can no longer compete with the big-money clubs and I also think that the present owners don't want to spend too much on players while we are able to develop young players. They will be our future 20 million pound signings. We still have 27 games to play and each game is important (not just the next two). We are still good enough to finish in the top four and I am sure that that is where we will be at 16.45 on 13th May.

Hey guys, i watched the swansea game and the stoke game again and noticed that when not in possession, spearing is very good at chasing the ball trying to dispossess along with lucas..this is what charlie adam is lacking..i get that when in possession, charlie adam creates a lot of chances but the presence of spearing gives more freedom to lucas to move forward and link with maxi and suarez...lucas, spearing make a very good partnership which can only get better if spearing is replaced by henderson or gerrard...for me, lucas and adam partnership isnt working that great...thoughts?

Terminator

But adam is the best on dead ball right now.....oh god what a dilemma..

Terminator

Personally i think all three of them are decent players.But not a top quality for me.I think lucas has ovioulsy improved a lot but i don't think he is good enough for a club aiming for top 4.Adam is fantastic from dead balls so for me has to play.I would like moussa sissoko bought to play in are midfield.Great box to box player very hard working

Danny

True that, Danny....would love to have someone like him..lucas needs some competition for the DM position

Terminator

I've been saying even before we bought Adam, that he is not mobile enough to play 4-4-2. For me, Charlie playing in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, would be more beneficial for him and the team. Playing an extra midfielder alongside him, creates more space for him to get on the ball and spray the passes around. Teams have sussed Charlie out in recent games, and put man markers on him, and stopped him from receiveing the ball, which cuts out his great passing ability.

I would love to see Henderson play in alongside Lucas, if we played 4-4-2. Hendo looks far more comfortable in the centre. In doing this I would play G.Johnson at RW, I ca't understand why Kenny hasn't done or tried this yet? We've got Kelly and Flanno fit and now whilst we have this option, I don't see why we don't give it a go?

My next team if all fit

Reina

Kelly Carragher Agger Enrique

G.Johnson Lucas Hendo/Gerrard Bellamy/Downing (lacking confidence)

Suarez Carroll

Just my opinion Terminator mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I think if we could get sissoko a future midfield of henderson and sissoko would be very good.There both box to box players and can both do there bit for the team.That undoubtedly henderson's position and i believe he will be a very good player.This will not all happen in january as we don't really have the funds but i think we need a cm for me sissoko, a goal poacher not sure who and luuk de jong and we would have a good team with depth.all would be relatively cheap as well. so for 2012/2013 season

reina
kelly coates agger enrique
sissoko hendo gerrard
de jong carroll suarez

Danny

Seems 4-3-3 should be perfect

KNEE JERK

He's a scouser and he hates scousers....this man needs psychiatrist's serious help because basically he hates himself

I asked the Mancs earlier today what they thought of this new info. They were as gracious as ever and told me, to h*ck off.

this is not really liverpool related.But i seen somewhere about jozy altidore being a great prospect. I recall seeing him playing for hull a while back but do you know were he plays now? just curious thanks

Danny

{Ed002's Note - AZ Alkmaar.}

Thanks for the reply mate

Danny

This isn't meant to sound rude but why can't you just google it? If its just to make conversation then make it, don't ask pointless questions.

Papa G

Sorry papa G my bad.

Danny

He's not a great player at all.

Dirks Engine Room

Nobody said he was a great player you word twister

Danny

He plays for AZ which is a club based in Alkmaar. AZ Alkmaar is merely a teutology as is PSV Eindhoven. Why do't we also say Everton Liverpool or manchester united Stretford.
DM

Word Twister!?! well I've been called worse....

Someone I get info from has worked very closely with Dozy Altidore and had high hopes admitted that he was a fairly ordinary player and like lots of young players, with a good physique and pace flattered to deceive.

Hi Ed's, just wondering if there is any truth in the David Villa rumours? I come on the site pretty much every day n i've seen most of you doubt it or see it as old news recycled but i've now heard Barca have confirmed our interest in the player! Can you shed any light on it? He'd be an amazing addition to the squad although he doesn't exactly fall into FSG's transfer criteria! Cheers {Ed002's Note - Please read the earlier posts.}

11 Nov 2011 20:02:14
i know we wont sign villa but FC Barcelona have confirmed that there is actual interest in us signing villa. Source look up toni frexia interview and he begins speaking with neymar but moves on to villa

Ed002 correct me if I'm wrong but this is a commercial football forum that generates money through selling advertising space. I don't know if the eds are paid or simple donate there time however the point in a forum is for people to share information and debate points.

If everyone agrees on all facts thats not a debate it's simply a message board. I actually enjoy people disputing my points of view however do get slightly annoyed when people who don't understand things question facts I provide.

People are entitled to give there point of view and are entitled to disagree with me. However I will always argue with people slagging the club I love, it's players or management. It might be blind faith but isn't that the difference between supporting a club and glory hunting.

I appreciate you acknowledging the sun comment was below the belt and I like the fact we disagree a lot. Actually enjoy football debates with people who have a genuine understanding of football much more than someone who hasn't got a clue but love the slag and moan.

Huyton red {Ed002's Note - Little or no money is generated through advertising, perhaps enough to cover costs only - and there are no "wages" in there. And nobody objects to vast amounts of misleading information and "tall tales" being posted. The Editors volunteer their time and some receive enormous amounts of truly vile abuse from the fans - which come the transfer window will come on a more than daily basis. The bottom line remains you seem to be totally unable to quote accurately from what is written. Like a cheap no hope jouranlist you quote part of a sentence and hope to score points or misqoute and twist was has been said entirely. For example, in a recent missve, you say I have "spent 2 months telling me we won't be building a new ground and won't get circa £180m naming rights deal" so you should have no problem in pointing out all of the posts where I have been doing this so you can share that information with everyone else. Don't bother trying because this is yet another example of you not being honest and twisting the truth - or perhaps you really do believe this to be true. What I have actually questioned was anyone giving £200M up front for the naming rights and any new stadium would therefore require a significant loan to be taken out in order to be achieved. As to the stadium, I have given an opinion that I am by no means convinced that a new stadium will be the solution in the short term. I very eloquently explained the following about the stadium in previous messages:

"There are five options as I see it: (1) New build to an existing “approved” design commissioned by the previous owners. This has the benefit of being the quickest and most economic way forward as far as a new build goes and I recall the fans being impressed with the designs. (2) New build to the design of an existing stadium (e.g. the Allianz Arena). This would save considerably on architects fees but may prove problematic in other areas – but may be more viable than folks realise. (3) New build to a completely new design. It will cost considerably more and take much longer to go down this route. This has to be a high-risk option. (4) Redevelopment of Anfield to add 12-15k seats that FSG would like to see. Economically this would seem to be the option that would give the best return on investment, but this is the option that is hampered by local planning regulations. My feeling is that this is seemingly the option that most fans would prefer. (5) A phased improvement and redevelopment of Anfield to bring the stadium up to code and to perhaps add some additional seating. This would provide a medium term solution that only moves the real issue to the right, but it would possibly facilitate the inclusion of the full quota of additional seating at a later date.

My assumption was always that any naming right deal would be for a new build and not for a redeveloped Anfield. I don't know if anything has changed in respect of that. I also don't know if FSG are actively trying to find a way to overcome planning regulation restrictions that would allow them to eventually add the additional seating at Anfield that they desire. Building a new stadium is going to mean a very large loan being taken on and even though sponsorship will cover much of the cost year on year, it can possibly be seen as an albatross that FSG may not want hanging around their neck.
My own view at this time is that the club will look at a phased improvement of Anfield hoping that a way can be found to add the additional seating in the not too distant future."

You have said it will be a new stadium and that the club are in discussions with the Council over figures over 65k and 71k maybe realistic. You also say that "financial models have been constructed factoring for 60, 65, 70, 72 and 74,000 seats". Everone must be very excited. I assume there will be no need to submit another planning application then - as obviously as I would doubt that no announcement (which you say is imminent) will be able to confirm such a stadium being built until planning is complete? Perhaps you know better.

So if you wish to continue to post your contact's information, you need to avoid offending the editors by misquoting them or twisting what they say. An obvious way of pissing us off is to continue to post BS and mis-attributing quotations or twisting what has been said.}

Well said ed.I dont beleive a word this huyton red has said. gerryg

I like Huyton Red's posts because they always bring a smile to my face. I know that they are just his fantasy, but they keep cheered up.

MJK

Ed002 I appologise profusely. As always you are the fountain of all knowledge. Heaven forbid I ever questioned any editor.

You are right you never disagreed with anything I posted. I just twisted your words to pretent you did.

It's a Internet forum and noone deserves to be on the receiving end of vile comments from Internet hero's who would never say things to someone's face. (the 1 thing I hope you can acknowledge I've never done).

Well might pop on to say "told you so" when stadium announcement is made. Will defiantly say sorry if plans fall through and I'm wrong.

But for now this will be my final post. Surly you know how it feels when your trying to share info you have with 100% faith and people question you.

Speak when announcement is made. Until then have a good life!

Huyton red {Ed002's Note - Nobody is suggesting that you leave the foyrum and certainly you have never been abusive. And nobody is suggesting you cannot disagree with an editor all we are simply asking is that any quotes are accurate and are words are not twisted. If you are saying "I told you so" to anybody it won't be me as all I have done is explained the options and given my opinion. It you read what I wrote that should be pretty clear. I do appreciate that it is tough to be questioned when all you are trying to do is help out.}

Can't actually believe what I'm reading. Only time will tell if Huyton Red is right. ED002 I have followed huyton reds posts with interest to see if he is proved right or wrong. Now because he's questioned you your telling him/her he can't post no more?

Will be interesting to see if this gets posted. He might not quote word for word but I have never seen him say the naming rights will be paid up front, I have seen him try to explain how the deal would finance the stadium and I have seen him say that borrowing will be needed. I have also seen you say that you don't believe anyone will stump up the money upfront despite the fact he has never said anyone will.

Whether you are paid or not most posters on here receive abuse at some point. You are privileged in the fact you decide what does and does not end up on the pages here.

You say he should write for the sun yet threaten to sensor him when he speaks up against you in true news international style.

Huyton Red I support you.

This is a forum not a dictatorship.

Jimbob Bear {Ed002's Note - Just trying to see where I said that because he has "questioned you your telling him/her he can't post no more". I can't seem to find that. What was raised with him was not him questioning me as you incorrectly allude to, but the fact he has repeatedly misquoted or partially quoted editors to suit his needs.}

Well Ed, I see it did not take long for the idiots to hit the keyboards. Gold star for Jimbob Bear who is first out of the blocks.

MJK {Ed002's Note - It seems that JimBob Bear can't tell the difference between speaking up (fine) and misleading readers by misquoting (unacceptable). Did you also notice the interesting little schoolkid's "dare" he gave us - "Will be interesting to see if this gets posted". I wonder how interesting he found it?}

Macca who did tell us we would be staying where we are. He's the man for me.

Have to say, Macca hasn't yet posted to say the plan he talked about has changed.

I remember all sorts of people last summer talking about strikers we were in for in the final week or two, and none of it happened except for the ones Macca mentioned.
The same guys will probably be out come January peddling more guesswork and dubious info, but at least this time you'll remember their names from the summer!

Maccas info is gold. I posted alot of cheeky put downs to Huyton in the past under GET REAL he was always reasonable in his counters. However he has no inside info and no grasp of the economic issues involved in this decision. LFC cannot afford and do not need a 70k seater stadium.

Ed002, there is a sixth option that has not gone away yet. Ground share with Everton. As a born and bred scouser which you are obviously not, I would love to see a magnificent stadium on the waterfront that we could could both use. After all, we are the centre of footy in England are we not? It would be magnificent and attract international games.

I know all the arguments etc but we could make it work. So many people have reds or blues in the family. We all live together. What is important is the city and both clubs!
Iggypop

{Ed002's Note - I was under the impression from what one of the board members said that the option was not deemed viable. If he did not say that or if a ground share with Everton is still being considered then you are absolutely correct it is a sixth option. You are correct that I am not a "Scouser", I was born to the left of Liverpool.}

Your left or my left Ed?...
KNEE JERK

{Ed002's Note - When North is at the top.}

I'm not a pool fan but have to agree with the ed about money upfront part even if the amount was handed over in one go it would have to be written into the accounts over lenght of naming rights deal, just as transfer fees paid are over lenght of contract

This is just a gut feeling but I would say based on the forecasted economic climate for next three years it is likely we will see no change with regards to current stadium, move or redevelopment. I believe the owners will be investing in players and exporting the name globally to increase income. Just a hunch. L19red

I have read this post with interest and being impartial I have to say that I fully support EVERYTHING that ED002 has written. Always accurate, always an honest and fair opinion, and always misquoted by one celled morons...

Keep up the brilliant work ED002, your my hero and everything you put on here gets my massive respect.

Tel 1949 {Ed001's Note - she is just misunderstood....}

11 Nov 2011 17:34:05
Ed001 i know you dont really compare players to each other but with Gerrards injuries being an issue and his age wont help the situation (i hope he returns well and plays for many years) who would you chose to take his place i know people say sissoko but is there any player who's basically the same kind of player as Gerrard

Cheers ED

MJ {Ed001's Note - not really anyone who is the same, though Coady given freedom is the closest similar player I have seen. I would love to see him burst onto the scene, he even runs a little like Gerrard. Other than that I haven't really seen anyone who reminds me of Gerrard, I think he is a one off.}

Definitely a one-off, Never seen one man on SO many occasion when his team needed inspiration, just step up and produce. There will never be another Steven Gerrard. I know I might kop some abuse, but the greatest Liverpool player ever imo.

But having said that, We could never replace Kevin Keegan.......We could never replace Callaghan.......We could never replace Robbie Fowler.......It is the Liverpool way for someone to rise to the top when we most need it.

Jatt YNWA

I hope thats a sign. If you run like gerrard you will play like gerrard.lol

Danny

Gerrard's stride pattern is one of his massive strengths added to his power, it made him really difficult to stop, even though he was never the very quickest.

Out of curiosity Ed, what did you think of Gerrard back when he was an academy player? Could you tell he was going to be something special? I was still young then myself so I only became aware of him when he broke into the first team.

DP {Ed001's Note - yes, he was always outstanding, he was a class above the rest in the academy at the time.}

11 Nov 2011 18:07:43
Hey guys and eds,I know Kennys said he might have to field a youth team for the cup,and in principle I agree with him. However I think we have the depth to avoid this! If we were to play. Reina Kelly Agger Skrtel Enrique. Henderson Adam Lucas Downing Carroll Suarez! You could argue its the strongest team we have depending on injuries! We could then play against Chelski. Reina. Johnson Carragher Coates Aurelio. Maxi Gerrard Spearing Kuyt with Bellamy! I know I'm a midfielder or striker short but we may have to choose a player who maybe hasn't played as many internationals! Carroll wasn't selected so maybe he could play in the cup too provided he's up to it! Anyway I'm glad he's taking the league the most seriously,but I just think there are players crying out for a game on the bench! In any case whatever happens have to win lose or draw together! YNWA Welshboy Dave. P.s eds I dont seem to have access to post on the mobile site? Something on my end or yours? Cheers guys! {Ed002's Note - Your end.}

we should try Philippe Coutinho on a loan with view to making it permanent

Quality player

11 Nov 2011 17:07:18
Interesting to read that John Henry was fascinated by how the technology of the Allianz Arena allows branding to be integrated into the fabric of the exterior. We've seen how the Allianz can go red and white and we've seen how it can work with diagonals and patterns. Think of a coke can with its red basic colour and the white wavy pattern. You could in theory create a huge elliptical flattened coke can by setting the fabric lights a certain way. Now that would be worth some serious sponsorship/naming rights money from Coca Cola!
Pete

Announcement on the redevelopment of Anfield next week mate.

I have heard it's imminent but not sure about next week. Think we will all be shocked by the news. My understanding is the owners are annoyed by man city's naming rights farce as it takes the shine off what they have genuinely achieved. Rather than just finical doping.

Evening all, would like to know what everyone including the eds think of Luuk De Jong? Seems like a solid player that wont set the world alight, but at the price as stated £12.65 mill seems a fair price in todays market.All the best.
KNEE JERK

The price is great seeing that his goal tally is already in double figures and he is still young...Lets face it we need someone who knows where the back of the net is

MJ

Have a look at his "solo goal" against Utrecht on youtube - where he beats three defenders. Thats some fancy footwoork that Suarez, Nasri and a few others would be proud of. I think he'll be a great signing.

It's been said that king kenny will field a team young team against chelsea due to the game being played 48 hours after the man city game why would we do that if we wanna win a cup.

League is far more important or could be a bluff on KK part!

Keith

The league has to take priority over any other competition this season giving that anything less than 4th will possibly cost kenny his job as manager. Also liverpool asked for the chelsea match to be put back until the wed which was refused therefor he said he could field a youth team in protest. Personally I think it would be a shame should we do so and not progress but I can understand why Kenny wants to make a stand over it.

N87 YNWA

Cos the players will be knackered. I Would rather beat city in the league than beat Chelsea in the cup.
Also loads of fans on here have been crying out for some of our youngsters to be given a chance, they might get there wish.
I do feel we have greater squad depth these days so we might be able to cope and throw in the likes of kuyt, maxi, bellamy and Kelly who have not played much recently but are more than capable of putting in a performance. Plus we might
have carra and gerrard back.
Plus Lucas seems to be able to play forever as can skrtle.
I think the likes of suso and sterling and co will still be very lucky to get on the bench.
These 2 games could define our season. 2 wins and the sky's the limit, 2 loses and the boo boys will be out in force on here.
I would not bet against us tho, we always seem to win games like these after playing poorly against so called weaker teams.

Anyone else think we should try and pinch Pogba from the Mancs? He's free to talk to clubs in January and he could be a good addition to our team

And i heard he supported liverpool when he was younger {Ed002's Note - He has been with MU since 16, how much younger were you thinking? Given he is French, I would have thought the chances of being a Liverpool supporter were very low indeed.}

French don't like Lfc Ed? {Ed002's Note - No, French kids support French teams. How many Rennes supports do you know in Liverpool?}

Players always say they used to support the team chasing them, it's more of a come and get me than anything else. Players in this day and age support whoever is stupid enough to pay them the most. Samuel etoo Is a lifelong supporter of anzhi Makhachkala don't ya know.

MIKEY

Nah im afraid your wrong on this 002, Both his older brothers supprt Liverpool aswell and his brother Matius (who plays for wrexham in wales) goes to anfield alot, My friend knows matius and hes said paul loved liverpool when he was at Torcy and Le Harve, His favourite liverpool players wer Cisse and pongolle (Pogba is very close friends with Cisse's cousin) {Ed002's Note - This will be the Pongolle who arrived at Liverpool when Pogba was 8. How would Pogba even of known of Liverpool? The English games would certainly not have been on television in France then. So even if we assume that he was the only 8 year old in France who supported Liverpool, do you now see him joining as he is a Liverpool supporter. Absolutely hopeless?}

How many scousers living in liverpool support a malaysian team?

Just Imagine..........

Pepe REINA

Gary CAHILL
Daniel AGGER
Jose ENRIQUE
Steven GERRARD (c)
Charlie ADAM
Christien ERIKSEN
Eden HAZARD
Luis SUAREZ
Gonzarlo HIGUAIN

Cahill over Coates? No chance.

Stu.

Surely coates will be in the team by next season. i would have lucas over adam any day of the week and i dont know where the money is coming from to buy eriksen hazard and higuain.

GMN

Living in dream land if you think eriksson, hazzard or higuain will sign for a club with no CL football. as for gerrard. you cant rely on him anymore

I've made a couple of changes to include more realistic signings
......................REINA..........................
............COATES.............AGGER.............
.KELLY...................................ENRIQUE.
.............SISSOKO..........LUCAS..............
..........................HONDA....................
..........HENDERSON...........BELLAMY.........
........................SUAREZ.........................

The kid above has a point... No CL no top signings and no money for signings. And to the other poster, Adam over Lucas anyday. Adam @ Hendo for cm.

4-3-3. this is how i think the side should look like now. REINA
JOHNSON, SKERTEL,AGGER,ENRIQUE.
..................LUCAS.............
...........HENDERSON, GERRARD/DOWNING
MAXI..................................BELLAMY
................SUAREZ...............
4-5-1 OR 4-3-3 what ever you want to call it.

Yeah imagine....cause thats all its gonna be: your imagination....will never happen

Yet more people who underestimate what Lucas actually brings to the side.

Stu.

Did anybody slate Lucas? No. He is a decent player, I would just not play him everygame, esp home games. Adam an Hendo is my preferred cm partnership. Is that a crime? Get over the Lucas paranoia.

I agree totally with Dalglish over the fixture congestion regarding the Man City and Chelsea games.

Many are missing the point entirely. Dalglish is treating the League Cup like Europe this season and making a serious push to win it. His selections in the previous rounds confirm this.

When making this decision at the start of the summer, Dalglish no doubt factored in many things including playing the Q/F in the week after the Man City game, knowing that Sky would show it live on the Sunday. He'd be in the knowledge that a strong side would be needed for both games and this may have balanced his thoughts regarding selection in the previous few games. So to suddenly find the goalposts have been moved has annoyed him.

Secondly, no matter what you may think players will not be in the right physical or mental shape to play twice in a matter of days and importantly play to the standard required.

You will find the players will be jaded and will lose focus, concentration and that vital sharpness in the head and legs, prone to collecting injuries that may have a bigger effect on the rest of the season. We'll be second to the ball, lazy, sloppy passing, late to close down. This will just play into Chelsea's hands.

You may not agree and think they should be at peak physical fitness, but there it is a little more to it.

48 hours plus travelling will not be enough to ensure the team goes out fully prepared and focussed.

Please don't give me 'we play on Saturday and Sunday mornings.' You will never reach the levels of fitness needed to play 90+ mins in a professional game and live to tell the tale.

I think Dalglish is more upset over plans to win silverware now being made more difficult over things out of his control.

We still have a stronger squad though and don't think this is an excuse before the facts, but it is a justifiable reason to have a moan.

Bob the Red

They are going to London, not Latvia for god sake. thats why there is a squad. either they are good enough or not. if not then thats dalglish's fault for loaning and selling quality players. kos

Well said. Play Maxi, Kuyt, Spearing, Kelly, Coates, Bellamy and co. Will prob do better.

Kenny want to win Craling cup. but he dont want suarez, Agger, Pepe, Lucas play 2 match in 48 houres. so Kenny is right, fixture been change every time so why not now? if stock city win over us they should play with chelsea now. then what FA going to do ? ask stock city drop Eurpa match ?

Its not a lack talent with Hendo! I think he's just trying to keep his head down, and get through the games. He's come to a big club and maybe lacks a little confidence but look at the goal against Bolton pure class. And we saw a little glimpse's against Man u of the lads potential to get foward, he's 20 yrs old give him a chance.All the best

KNEE JERK

I like hendo. He was sensational at anfield last season and has put in a few really good performances recently. Think with a bit more time consistency will follow. He is only 20.

It's clear that we have a few visitors today trying to stir up our page. Unnamed posts don't count and ripping the likes of Kenny and Hendo, its clear your not a Liverpool fan.

Come on lads, let's take this negativity rival fans throw at us and bring back the "I support LFC through thick and thin attitude" and let's make Anfield scary again.

I think were gonna have a decent team against Chelsea in the cup. We have had players like Bellamy kuyt hendo Coates Kelly an maxi on the bench most of the season so they shud be fit an ready to make a point to get back into the starting 11 plus we even got the young lads flannoand robinson for lb an rb! It not are strongest 11 but it a decent 11 who I think can give chelski a game! Keep the faith reds with abit of luck I think we can make the semis
The swan

Hi Tizer Red.
Well stated mate!.
Obviously the 'rise and development' of the Mighty Reds worries other supporters.
We are on track for a great revival, with KK at the helm, new stadium or redevelopment of current one, potential huge naming rights deal (fingers crossed on this one), some of the best young players around, fantastic and supportive owners,the best fans around, great management, world renowned brand ambassador in Le Bron James, and the list goes on!.
There are so many positives about lFC currently it is so exciting, and we can only improve further.
If you are a Red, be proud, our team are on the rise again.
Cheers to all the positive fans out there, and to the doubters consider what had been achieved in the last year because its all good!.
Shankly's Red Army.

I think steve g will be in that sqaud too

Shankley's red army.
It's looking that way mate. It's just a shame some fans don't realise success doesn't happen over night, especially when you think were we were this time last season. The kings doing an amazing job and I believe we'll have a very good second half of the season and Finnish 4th.

Im very sorry but its a different kettle of fish playing for the under 21s against Iceland and playing in the premiership week in and week out - Henderson is not up to standard

So then if he is not up to standard, why is he picked & furthermore why is he captain>? Are you suggesting all English players under 21 are sh*te in the Prem, or are you just targeting Henderson?

Dont rise to him, hes not an LFC supporter, hes just doing a windup. Ignore him guys and he will retreat into his burrow

ed ino it probley aint guna happen but if reports are 2 be believed then how much would D.Villa cost us as surely we wouldnt pay the £34.2m he cost Barca as he is 29 and would represent a sell on value? but he would be a quality addition if we could get him around the £25m-£28m range.

BigD {Ed002's Note - THis is for a player who has never wanted to play outside of Spain, I really don't know.}

A message for Ian the Red - look at the Echo website and you will see that almost 90% of the comments are telling Kenny to stop moaning - and please stop calling me a manc.

99.99% of the comments in the echo are from blue noses dumbo!! No true LFC supporter would dream of doing this, or jump on the bandwagon of the bitters or the mancs

It would be nice for someone to point out the improvement made already with Jordan Henderson and evidence that the lad is coming along nicely and is more than a 'Sunday morning pub player'.

If you watched last night's performance verses the displays in the summer also for the U21's, you will see how he is growing in maturity and by playing with 'bigger' and arguably better players as well as being coached by better coaches is already paying off.

Considering his age and the improvement shown already, this signing is starting to look superb. Just let him develop in the time that is needed.

Just think of the levels of performance he'll be putting in, in another 24 months time.

That is, if the majority of moaners haven't switched allegiances by this time or hampered his development by continually whinging and moaning at him.

Bob the Red

I believe he is quality if played in the central midfield or Gerrard's role, like how he played for the U21s. KK is using him the wrong way. Although he got the physical ability to play on the wings, he just doesn't have the mentality for it. Look at him play for the U21s in the central midfield role, the dictates the play sending nice balls to the left, center, and right of the pitch as well as making got supporting runs.

11 Nov 2011 12:01:40
Quite agree with recent post. Surely players can play and a Sunday and then a Tuesday. Get on with it, put out your full strength team and stop moaning.

I'm wondering whether it's KK saying one thing and ending up doing another.

I had a dream the other night that LFC signed Wesley Sneijder...I also had a dream that it was nearly Christmas, and it is, so mark my words, watch this space...you may laugh, but believe me this WILL happen

Are you sure it wasn't Wesley Snipes?

I had a dream the other night that ED001 was made Prime Minister and immediately jailed everyone on this site who moaned about LFC.

I also had a dream that liverpool wear red, strange or just a coincidence ?

For gods sake Kenny stop moaning, surely players can play 2 games in 3 days. They surely cant be tired - the word pampered comes to mind. Stop moaning and get on with it cos you are becoming the laughing stock of the premiership.

You can spot a manc a mile off!

Ian the red

There's no replays in the Carling Cup now is there ?
Possibility of extra time in the second match too. Stupid, why couldn't they have re-arranged it ?
The Real KB

Sounds like Dalglish is under pressure and getting his excuses in early.. we suppose to have a great squad so use it.

Mate go back to your own page.

We play city on the Sunday, one day rest then chelsea on the Tuesday. You think that's enough rest do you? Do you think the players will be 100% fit?

All Kenny wants is the premier league game with City moved to the Saturday, what's wrong with that? Man City support the idea as they are in the same predicament.

TIZER RED

The same players could play 2 games but would be leggyin the second match particularly if extra time occurs in the cup game. But the principle of the matter is that it would've been easy and.sensible to re arrange the fixtures but money has prevailed over courtesy yet again

Best bit is, its not like Ferguson's ever moaned is it ;) kenny's got a point, playing 2 games in 3 days increases fatigue, which increases likelihood of injury, and then we have to pay those players wages regardless, so we could be forced into paying suarez's £60,000 odd per week, even if he gets injured for a month.

Sorry posted this below by mistake:

You clearly know very little about football or the amount of effort that footballers are required to put into a game.

Data from 2006 shows players run an average of 11.5km every match - with 1070m of this at high-intensity pace. I would love to see you try and run these kind of distances twice in three days, whilst trying to pass a ball, make a tackle, score a goal etc etc, to a good enough standard that you don't get slaughtered on fans forums after the game.

Other managers such as Ferguson and Wenger have complained abut the fixture lists - does this make them a laughing stock?

JRG

I don't think City ARE in the same predicament. They could probably put
two teams in the Premier league and the weaker one would still be about mid table
ie much bigger/stronger squad
Therefore not the same situation for them

Puzzled

Puzzled that maybe true but Manchester City still support the idea as teams still need to prepare for the next game and one day isn't really long enough. Some poster has already pointed out that you risk injury playing 2 games in 3 days, not an opinion but a fact.
TIZER RED

I go the gym every day and run 10k in 40/45mins. I'm not even that good. If I can do it whilst unemployed, I'm pretty sure some pampered footballer on 60k a week can 11k every other day in 90minutes - especially to do it for their job. Pathetic what footballers cry about these days.

JJ

JJ I also go the gym 6 days a week, do a hour and half resistance training and half hour intense cardio vascular, that has nothing to do with it. Do you think a football plays at weekend then has a week off? Professional football train hard all week to get to the levels of fitness required in the premier league. I'm not having a go, just saying its not the same as you running 10k per week while unemployed. Football players need to be mentally fit and physically fit.
TIZER RED

Shame this tit can't run 10k and go find a job.

MIKEY

Good one there Mikey lol

I pressed the disagree button by mistake (touch screen phone)

TIZER RED

MIKEY, congrats on a completely useless post which is needlessly offensive. Grow up kid.

TIZER RED, you telling me that on 60k a week a footballer is pushing themselves to play 3 times a week? Please. It's their career. They should be more than fit enough to play 3 times a week minimum. If the arguement was that there wasn't sufficient time to mentally prepare for a game in such quick succession or to tactically prepare the team for how to beat a team. So be it. But the physical state of a player playing 3 times in a week should NEVER be an arguement for a professional player.

JJ

Haha. Legend post Mikey.

Fensh

JJ. Athletes need time to recover and 48 hours is the minimum time required. It's not about how much a player earns, its about risk of injury to the players. What would happen if the game needed extra time? You've seen what it does to a player who hasn't played a game 48 hours before. Yes some players may play twice, however the fitness coaches would like that extra day. I can't understand why you can't see KK point, I really can't.

The players play a game, go home rest the next day they would do some light training. Instead we will be traveling for god knows how long to London to play a tough away game with little time to prepare.

It just seems harsh we are told the game can't be brought back a day, that's all I'm saying.

Christian Eriksen is not a possibility at the moment as he wants to finish his learning career in holland :(

Truth is were simply not in a position to pursade this type of player to the club. We will not be massive wage payers and atm can't offer CL football. If we get 4th place then there is a very slim chance he could be persuaded in the summer. But very slim.

hey lfc fans..........

i would like to say again..henderson needs to play in the middle in order to progress and show why ferguson wanted him and why dalglish bought him.

hes very dynamic ..good passer of the ball..and just like a young stevie g. hes wasted on the right..and he played really well against iceland, up and down the pitch and setting up goals.

we all know...that after a season or half a season, a new player gets used to it..and shows how good he is..

look at all the new players in the prem who have taken a season and are now top players!!! so i support henderson regardless!!

11 Nov 2011 09:06:23
Its just my opinion but i can see KK starting with a spearing or Henderson in the centre of midfield along with Lucas and Adam for a bit of pace next week against Chelsea. With suarez up top by himself and maybe Kuyt or Bellamy right and downing left.

Shame PYTBULL is an embarassment to lfc with his uneducated belittling of a famous and glorious club, you have let the good name of your more educated fans down unfortunately. btw defoe a spurs reject? What's johnson then?

LMFAO
So its disappointing that we missed out on some of Spurs Super Stars in summer, The likes of Hutton, Jenas, Palacios & Peter Crouch. They would have been excellent buy's for Liverpool FC. We should ask Spurs to inform us when ever there is a player for Sale so we should never missed out on such Young & quality exciting players in the future.

My god dear boy what planet are you from? Think we both agreed defoe is not prolific! its the uneducated way you belittled a great team, think one of the eds one commented about idiots who rubbish not just great teams but any team that has earned a right to play at any level, you show the mentality off someone who had watched the game for five mins, you would never get an educated liverpool fan slate any club, simply not their style, now grow up

Oh it's you again, labeling me uneducated, idiotic shame you slag off fellow Reds like this, shame on you!
Go and support Spurs! Little London Club. Who will never ever be greater than my beloved Liverpool FC.

I greatly appreciate you and rest of your eds work on here.
Why bother jumping into this conversation, you sound every time I hear from you, you hate me, may be it's becaz I am not from UK you are being discriminative, but if you find my posts inappropriate don't post it.
Cheers!

pytbull (Liverpool forever) {Ed001's Note - I will jump into any conversation I choose, it is an open forum, if you don't like that I suggest you go elsewhere and take your negative whining with you. As for where you are from, the only racist here is you, assuming I am against you because you are not from the UK. I don't like your posts because you are a whining little girl who never has anything positive to say. You constantly put down the club I love, then you belittle other clubs too.}

"However we are in football and nothing is an absolute, so let's wait until the end of the season.

"I want to play more games than last season, playing regularly in a winning team is very good for the player, but the Premier League is very attractive and exicting for any player.

What does strike me, is just how divided fans are about the attributes of certain players.
I believe we can only deal in certainty, namely those players who are now LFC players. Rather than speculate and fantasise about this player or the other, rather get behind the players we have and support them. Wishing for something is the domain of children, let's deal in facts, figures and accuracies.
My thanks to the EDs, for the great job they do.

Also what other big strikers are we looking at and what number would they receive!
