----------------Reina-------------

Johnson---Cahill----Agger---Enrique

--------------Lucus---------------
-----Meireles---------Adam--------

---Suarez------Caroll------Downing

In my opinion this is our best team.
When Gerrard is fit he could replace Meireles.
If Meireles was sold M.Sissoko could be bought as a replacement.

I say play Suarez in pretty much every game including tomorow he's young fit and hungry an I am sure would have asked Kenny if he can play tomorrow anyway he said himself he shouldnt be tired at his age plus we are going to play less games this season because we are not in europe just my opinion

If Ngog goes i don't think we need a replacement and waste 8million. Kuyt and Eccleston (if he ain't sold) are fair replacements. The spare spot could really help Nacho, morgan, mexican dude and even Sterling get 10/15 mins off the bench for a few games. It could help them improve faster. What do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - I do feel that at least one spot on the bench should always be reserved for a youngster so he gets a taste of things.}

Earlier in the transfer window liverpool said that they were interested in lennon, do you think he is a possibilty?

12 Aug 2011 23:12:02
Just wanted to say Charlie Adam is a top bloke & him + Downing I feel have the club at heart & really wanted to play for us.

Best of luck to the boys for the new season & ram neville's words right down his throat.

Great club, management team, owners, signings, squad & fans.

Our manager & players are respectful & keep their opinions in house.

But don't worry you have until 11:30 tomorrow to have your team ready.

I'm a big fan of this site but sorry to burst the bubble for this summer but we are done spending, we will see a couple of squad players leave but that's our lot on a great bit of business before a big season

Good luck LFC

Rumours that Aurelio is injured again.God is it possible?

12 Aug 2011 22:48:03
Just looking through YouTube clips again of Enrique and I forgot how quick this guy is he regularly runs the length of the pitch at full speed and no1 can catch him He will be a fantastic signing 5.5m is a bargain Looking forward to tomorrow now more than previous seasons DubRed

Hi Eds, enjoying all the transfer coverage. Great job.

I am concerned for some fans on here that expect the owners to have endless cash this window. So many posters asking about a new striker with so many big names being suggested.

Am I missing something or do we already have one ofnthe best strike partnerships in the prem? Surely if anyone was bought in they would be third or possibly fourth pick behind kuyt.

Why would we waste big money on a signing to sit on the bench and why would the player want to come? Are these fans suggesting that if we get another big signing that either suarez or carrol would be on the bench?

We have a great squad compared to this time last year and I think some people need to be a little more realistic.

12 Aug 2011 22:34:55
when Aquilani have got the number 15 then doo I not thinking wee will sell him in this summer window. Who are the next new player after enrique this summer some is new player at Melwood and Andfield?

12 Aug 2011 22:33:50
look guys, top four finish, then see where we are for next season, and then season upon season improvement.its going to be difficult cs we gt money bags chelski and city chucking cash away. i for one will be happy if we qualify for CL every season, and provide the odd bit of silverware , thanx Mike w

12 Aug 2011 22:20:16
I would play Luis Suerzes for these three games before utd. i wouldn't throw him in straight away as we have other options and ways to play against stoke

Arsenal Away 12:45
Tottenham A 13:30
Everton A 12:45

12 Aug 2011 22:14:53
All reds should now get behind the team and do their bit for the new season
FSG have seriously tried to put us back where we belong without the attraction of CL footie
If Rafa have had this kinda support and investment we would have won EPL 5 yrs ago

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez could be involved despite only returning to training on Monday after playing in Uruguay's Copa America triumph.

Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel are injured and Glen Johnson (thigh) doubtful, but Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam could debut.

Sunderland's John O'Shea is sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Fellow new boys Wes Brown, Craig Gardner, David Vaughan, Sebastian Larsson and Connor Wickham may feature.

12 Aug 2011 22:11:36
Everyone jumping on the bandwagon.

Oh Cahill is coming, Aquilani is leaving. Meireles is staying.

We are all actually good friends with KD and DC. In fact we are them, it's just the ed's are none the wiser :)

Premiership Managers that have won the Premier league

1993–94 SCO Scotland Ferguson, AlexAlex Ferguson Manchester United Winning 'back to back' Premiership titles, and winning the Double of the Premiership and the FA Cup.
1994–95 SCO Scotland Dalglish, KennyKenny Dalglish Blackburn Rovers Winning Blackburn's first title in more than 80 years. [5]
Kenny Dalglish left Balckburn, they sell Shearer to newcastle. Blackburn will get regulated this year (wow, jack walkers millions would be turning in his grave)

1996–Arsène Wenger joins Arsenal the revolution begins
1996–97 SCO Scotland Ferguson, AlexAlex Ferguson Manchester United Winning his fourth Premiership title.
1997–98 FRA France Wenger, ArsèneArsène Wenger Arsenal Becoming the first foreign manager to win the title and guiding Arsenal to the Double.
1998–99 SCO Scotland Ferguson, AlexAlex Ferguson Manchester United Winning the Treble of Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

2004 - mourinho comes to chelsea
2004–05 POR Portugal Mourinho, JoséJosé Mourinho Chelsea Becoming the fourth foreign manager to win the title and winning Chelsea's first title for 50 years. Also for recording the highest amounts of points in any Premier League season to date.

2009–10 ENG England Chelsea
2010–11 SCO Scotland Ferguson, AlexAlex Ferguson Manchester United Winning a twelfth Premier League title.

I have a Feeling Kenny Dalglish will win the premiership Title this year with Liverpool. He has won it before with Blackburn. He has gone out and spent 100million +
Some of the football towards the end of the season was breathtaking stuff. The form from jan to may was championship winning and Liverpool went from 18th to 6th place towards the end of the season.

Everything seems to be in place for Liverpool to win the title.

hats off to Alex Ferguson

hi eds a new season a new era..read all other web sites into what we might achieve were we might finish.but for me its simple we are lfc and if that does,nt sound out a hello to the people and other doubters let me assure them people we are back and not to be taken lightly..the strength in our team now is better than its been for the last 15 years.the staff and new owners have really took there time to pick the quality players they,ve brought in.players who want to play for this club and that is more important than buying a greed driven hot prospect.we have a team of winners and thats what they want to do WIN top 4 is a easy possability but winning the the epl is a greater one.welldone all at lfc time to show who the real champ,s are again never say never YNWA

12 Aug 2011 21:57:26
not a rumour edd just need your help always on the site and who best to ask. Season starts 2moz and the fantasy footie starts.Can you ask all the fans if they are having a problem logging onto the priemer league site. Thanks {Ed009's Note - I certainly am and we have had a few other posts claiming the same. Just wait it out I guess.}

12 Aug 2011 21:53:59
Hi eds. Addicted as normal Aquilani could end up being the 20m signing we never had. Realistically, what is the chances of him giving it a proper go wearing the badge with pride? Or do you think he will go because he thinks he needs to go home? Kenny and the club obviously want him to stay. What do you think will be the outcome?

Keenboy {Ed001's Note - he will only go if we get the right offer and that is looking unlikely, but he knows that if he plays well in the first half of the season there will be offers in Jan. I think he will end up staying now and trying to play his way into a good move.}

12 Aug 2011 21:26:53

Thought I heard on 5 live tonight that comolli states no more purchases this window? Any truth behind it?

12 Aug 2011 21:20:48
I think we have a good team . with some young player can be a star. hope player like Suso, Rahem will get chance to show what they can do. Michel owen start playing on his 18 year of age for reguler 11. we need a young player to be a superstar that will help us to win EPL

12 Aug 2011 21:15:41
with us maybe looking for anew striker do any of the eds think it may be worth looking into the championship as there are alot of good strikers in there and im sure alot of them wouldnt mind keeping the bench warm while carroll and suarez do the business {Ed001's Note - erm nope, I have not seen a striker in the Championship that I would put on the bench ahead of Adam Morgan.}

12 Aug 2011 21:48:28
Hey Ed just wondering if you know the code for the fantasy football league that some guy on here posted and if you don't know can you post this anyway so someone might know it and post it again. Cheers,,,,Zincho

anyone having probs logging into fantasy football {Ed009's Note - I am.}

12 Aug 2011 21:40:57
Aquilani has been give a squad number of 15 is he staying

12 Aug 2011 21:39:40
I have some doubts whether we'll sign a centre back but we did bid big for Phil Jones so I think it's more likely than not. We seem to be leaning towards Cahill and if he signed I'd be delighted. I think he's top class and still getting better. A year or so as Carra's understudy will do him the world of good too.

Can't wait for tomorrow, think we'll win but it'll be tough to break through.

12 Aug 2011 21:34:21
Ed,alot of people and pundits are writing henderson off this season, do you think he is a good player and will be a success at lfc or a flop honestly mate? I know everyone says kenny knows best but Ed what do you think mate, i think we could have bought alot better for 17 million? {Ed009's Note - He is a very good player, who is not yet worth 17 million. His energy and workrate are supreme and he can throw in a great cross. He fits ideally into Kenny's vision of a 4-4-2, as the more conventional wide midfielder to Downing's winger.}

12 Aug 2011 20:59:59
Ed or other posters, does anyone have a squad list for tomarrows game? Cheers

12 Aug 2011 20:57:09
Ed, seen your post for live matches, are they free online or do you have to pay through credit card mate? {Ed009's Note - I believe they are free. They are Red Lenin's instructions though.}

John Henry on twitter - anyone know what it means ?

'Well, we haven't saved anything yet, just set a new course in the deep waters of English football. We feel very, very fortunate to be here.'

Or is just a general comment on the new signings ?

Ed, I was wondering if the enrique deal is just the 5.5 mil or is there a player going the other way? I was just wondering, with Newcastle buying him for 6.3 mill surely Mike Ashley of all people would want to make a profit. Also I think I might of heard on sky sports this morning that there was some confidentiality thing signed between the two clubs? Not sure if I heard wrong but I was just wondering, thanks, brilliant sitekelly23 {Ed009's Note - As far as I know it is just straight money.}

LIVERPOOL is a fantastic club and there is still a lot of work to be done to take it to where it belongs. Support and beleive in our club. Get behind each and every player may it be POULSEN, may it be NGOG. In the end they are LIVERPOOL players and you have got to realize that they give there 100% every time they play. They did not sign themselves, we did

Hi Ed's Got a quick question for you. I'm playing a fantasy league with my mates and am wondering who you would choose to be in my team from liverpool for tommorrows game i can only have three and currently have reina, agger and suarez. do you think i should change them or keep them? if so who would you choose you have got to answer :P

cheers
Daryll {Ed009's Note - Reina, Lucas and Suarez is what I went for. Lucas just for his ridiculously cheap price.}

Just wondering do people think there should be a wage cap brought in across europe which cuuld be implemented by uefa.this wage cap would be the maximun amount the club could pay a player per week. this would give other clubs a chance to sign players and stop clubs like man city and others offering crazy over the top wages. although these clubs may be outbid it would be down to the player as he knows one club cant over him something like £250,000.Maybe then players will sign for footballing reasons. Each club could then have there own wage structure based on this wage cap. Overall this would give other clubs a chance to compete and stop these oil rich clubs snacthing all these players.it also might get some players more focused on football.

Hi everyone Not a rumour, but I just want to say I have an interview at LFCTV next week for the role of an 'online video producer'. I'm ridiculously excited - Its an absolute dream job for me and would love all of your support ps - I promise if I get the job I'll push for more free access for LFCTV online ;)

Fantastic transfer window so far for us, hopefully we can offload a few fringe players and bag a CB.

Thanks,

Plea for help, I am a computer novice and want to watch matches live on laptop.Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to set this up I have looked on sites and s
truggle with the info given

eds can provide my e mail address for any help if this is posssible. {Ed009's Note - Red Lenin has reliably informed me that this is the case:
"1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

RED LENIN."}

I hope the Higuain rumours are true. He is a beast. He is so much better than benzema. he was injured last season and that is why Real did not win La Liga.

12 Aug 2011 18:53:01
One player to watch this season is Adel Taarabt. Very surprised that no big clubs have not decided to sign him, could be to wait and see how he perfroms in the EPL.
Taarabt had a massive season for QPR last season and he will probably end up being their highest goalscorer and creator this time round too.

19 goals and 16 assists last season. By January QPR will be struggeling to keep hold of him and if anything, we should seriously consider making an offer for him.

I must say other than el pistolero I think the best signing of the past year is Steve Clarke. I really rate this guy so highly and he gets the very best out of players, is a quality coach and motivator.

Comolli has just said there will be no more signings this transfer window, to me this leaves us lacking in Central defense with the injury prone skrtle and agger, and carra is cracking on now. Please tell me there is no truth to what comolli allegedly said. Cahill would be a great signing.

12 Aug 2011 18:19:45
Comolli has stated that he, Kenny and all the coaches believe there is a lot more to come from Enrique. Adam, Downing, Henderson, Enrique and Carroll are all players who have been successful in the EPL. Equally importantly, they are all players who are capable of making significant improvement under KD and Steve Clarke.
Let's wait until the end of the season before we make any judgements about the transfer fees payed for these players.
I suspect that, by then, there won't be too many people suggesting that Liverpool have overpaid for their transfers.

I'm just watching sky sports and le tiss is talkin about potential prem winners......its a piss take......he sayin utd done fantastic in the transfer market, they did it very early, great buys...etc. he then mentioned chelsea and city and how great they are.....not a word of us reds. Our signings are rubbish hot, we signed em all early, but as per usual Liverpool are not even looked at. Well I think is bollox cos kenny is our king. Soon we will be sat on top of the league and kenny wont boast. He will just smile while we shout his name on the kop.

Macca, how likely is Benayoun to sign according to your sources? What stage are we at with him? How much will he cost? How much will Cahill cost? Do we want a striker, if so who? Are Cahill's wage demands a problem? Who is more likely to sign out of Dann and Cahill? And who is going to be sold/needs to be sold to fund moves for new players?

Sorry for all the questions mate, might aswell get it out of my system ;)...

Post on rumours Ed so Macca can see as I doubt he will go through the entire banter page...

Does everyone have the same view especially the ed's that if ngog ends up at bolton fairly soon then a striker will definately be targeted ? {Ed002's Note - Possibly - but are you are writing off the youngsters then? I hear a lot of good about Adam Morgan but I know he is perhaps a little too young - is there anyone else who could step up? Will Pacheco stay?}

Hi eds. Was wondering what are the chances of Ngog being sold to Bolton? Also if he does go, would Liverpool need to be looking to bring another striking option as back up, because even though how bad Ngog was, he was always used as back up. Cheers {Ed002's Note - Ngog could well be moving to Bolton. Subject to other players leaving I suspect that another striker may be looked at, but equally perhaps one of the youngsters could step up.}

The two above rumours posted one after the other. WTF people wonder why the eds give short or condersending answers at times its because of wasteful posts like these two... Edd02 i also owe you an appology for some previous comments i have made to you... I hope you will accecpt..

Hi ed, just wandering, why is cahill seen as 1st choice over mertesacker? in my opinion mertesacker is one of the best in the world(cb) and we could get him for cheap. im from South Africa and watched him play live at the World Cup and he was absolute class and would cost less than Cahill? just a thought, would love to hear from you guys. Thanks RosstheRed {Ed009's Note - His severe lack of speed is deemed dangerous in a league as fast paced as the Premier League, in some circles at least.}

I for one am very happy with our off season additions. Enrique, I haven't liked from my limited views of him in the past as I always thought he was very one footed. I will absolutely give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him the best while he is a LFC player. At 6.5 M he's a snip IMO.I'd love to see 3 or 4 sales/frees/loans before the end of the window and a CB addition also. As for tomorrow and the next couple of weeks I hope to see the Kop in full voice and us really being patient of this team gelling together. I think we are going to be very competitive. John Henry and Tom Werner have been a breath of fresh air. KK has selection problems down the road when all are healthy and that's a great problem to have. Oh i see a golden sky.....

Hi Ed's, I noticed Alberto Aquilani has been given the number 15 shirt for the season ahead. Contrary to previous posts about his future, surely this signifies he is in the PL squad for a reason and that reason is because KD has him in his plans for this year :)

I am a big AA fan so excuse the ecstatic delight :)

As for commoli saying enrique will be our last signing when kenny was interviewd this morning. He said in all honestly he didnt no if there would be any more signings as we have to see what out goings they are so I take this to mean if no none leaves there well may not be any more signings but to a possitive point if no one bids for cahill and we can manage till january with the defenders we have gothopefully depending on agger staying fit then surely cahill would be available for 8 million or under which would be a fantastic price for a defender of his calibre would still like him hear sooner but it may work in our favour

hello fellow readers and eds its my first ever post so be nice haha. Been comin on here for a few months now and i have both parties to thank for many hours spent on this amazing site. so happy with the enrique signing, i cant wait to see him, downing and suarez start together. murder from the wing so potent kfc would be proud. i think carroll will have a fantastic season, im not taking as much from the pre season as most seem to on here but his fitness and hunger are mounting everytime i see him play. i cant remember a transfer window like this, ill be honest i was wondering where things where going over the summer, just with us being linked with so many players, how that has changed, i think king kenny is about is 3 or 4 moves from saying checkmate and knocking queen fergie to the floor. we have made some incredible signings and with a top 4 finish and owners who have shown nothing but honesty and faith, think of things a year down the line when all these great purchases have settled, learnt eachothers, kennys and liverpools game? and with new additions of a different calibre (to say lack of CL hasnt/will not affect us in terms of players coming in and finance would be stupid) i cant remember being this excited. i plan posting again and hopfully getting to know the eds and fellow posters on here so again thanks to the fantastic eds and regular posters my names adam im from the dingle s'appenin? Danny Wilson is a good player.played out of position when used last season and given he's only 19 if not playing regular wouldn't be a good thing should let him go on loan...

Aquilani has been given a squad number, 15.

Turning into a rather pointless saga this.

Aquilani's agent pushing for a move to Juve. That collapses and he says Aquilani will stay in Liverpool. We all know he wants a return to Italy but he features heavily in pre-season and Dalglish says is happy to keep him. Then he looks dead on to join Fiorentina on loan but then they pull out . Aquilani's agent again says he might stay. Then AC milan announce their interest, he looks certain to leave soon as Juve suddenly come back into the picture and agent says Fiorentina deal isn't off. He then starts against Valencia with first team regulars and says in an interview he is happy to stay and prove himself at Liverpool. 2 days later Dalglish says the only one leaving at the moment is Ayala and that all other players returning from Internationals are fine in contention to play against sunderland. Then apparently Aquilani isn't even in the provisional squad for the game. However in the last day he has been given squad number 15 ( on LFC squad list on website )

Just now his agent has said he will still consider AC milan if they make an offer.

Give me a freaking break....

I thought young Kellys preferred position was CB, now we've got Enrique and Johnson if they're both fit give the lad a chance next to a wise old scouse head and loan out Wilson 4 a year or so, he is a bright prospect for the future SPL young player of year whatever thats worth these days.

Eds will enrique be able to play on saturday? and could you fully explain the gerrard situation to me please (will he ever be the same again?)

great site :)

davis93 {Ed009's Note - Enrique could theoretically play I believe, but it is pretty unlikely. Aurelio will almost certainly deputise, especially after his impressive combination with Downing against Valencia. Gerrard's injury is worse than first feared, and is not healing as it should due to overplaying in the past. Done forever? An exaggeration.}

Please post on Rumours page.
Just heard that DC has stated "jose enrique will PROBABLY be liverpools last summer signing" so looks like dann, cahill, Park Chu Young, Vargas, Hazard, Mata or Lavezzi wont be coming here so i wish ppl wud stop these silly little rumours

You agree ED's??

great work love this site

p.s, i highlighted probably just incase he changes his mind lol.

ScottyRed {Ed009's Note - I agree with the last four players, but they were never likely at all. The first three? A chance. Remember Comolli said similar things after Adam's signing.}

12 Aug 2011 14:52:22
well ed im happy with the player's we have got in i think that's it for us this window is done.there will be no more player's coming in,unless we sell 2 or 3 then maybe a CB and a back up striker. yes i would love to see the iceing put the cake with cahill or dann,as for a back up striker who would we go for ? jay essex red for life red till dead {Ed009's Note - Park Chu-Young is probably the most likely, if any is signed.}

12 Aug 2011 15:59:25
will suarez b playing at the weekend do u know? {Ed009's Note - He desperately wants to start, but in all likelihood he will probably begin the match on the bench.}

12 Aug 2011 15:45:34
To th poster who said this 'Id prefer pacheco than ngog any day' I think you got ngog confused with another youth striker we have at the club called michael ngoo, he was recently at the u20 world cup with England.

Anyone knw if they are showing the Liverpool game on tv tomorrow? I see there's something on lfctv but not sure if it's live coverage,?

Hi Ed, i've read on the club website that comoolli thinks enrique is likely to be the last signing. What's the possibility of signing anyone else? Do you think enrique will be the last signing or will we get someone like cahill? Thanks {Ed009's Note - I still believe we will sign a centre back.}

I know at the time when we a place the Europa slip through are grasp,and then a litte rumour yesterday we might be included for the Greek team getting banned it got me thinking a bit . Because of our tradition of always being in Europe and getting them to see play more on tv. I might be stating the obvious but i defo think its a good thing not having that play Thursday then Sunday crud, i think really thinks it puts you at a disadvantage . All them extra games that i know some young players could've been given some game time against decent opposition but personally i think we have to make the top 4 under any circumstances, hopefully higher but we need C.League footy end of story. If the youngsters like Flanaghan and Robinson are good enough to get in the on merit all well and good. But the players we could attract to us as well as the current crop of youngsters we have got should mean were challenging for the Title and C.League every season as long as we get their this which without travelling all over Europe, and can concentrate fully our Holy Grail the league title. Am more then happy now not to be participating in the Europa, as i feel it would defo effect on our title/top 4 challenge in a negative way. Jonson6

Hi EDs,

I know you eds constantly tell us not to read anything into betting odds as they don't really mean anything - but when I looked this morning Tottenham were evens favourites to sign Gary Cahill and Liverpool were 8-1 but when I just checked we are now 11/8 favourites......someone must have laid some big money on this......put a monkey on it

Anyway - thanks for all the info and keeping me entertained at work ; )

hi eds great site and great answers info etc from you eds on the dann situation if im right most of the eds said we would get him i know theres still time but it does seem aresnal are favourites to sign him what do you think of this? also cahill seems to be favourite for us now but if we go back to january micha richards was who kk wanted maybe he still does? i think enruiqe is a very good signing right up there on the stats for last season looking forward to seeing all the new lads together thanx again appreciate your answers and hard work steviep48 {Ed009's Note - We had a 20 million pound bid for Micah Richards rejected in January and Kenny will not want to guy higher than that. Liverpool and Arsenal will likely get one each of Dann and Cahill.}

Hello Ed
Out of pure curiosity i would like to ask whether Enrique is a good DEFENDER or not, i havent seen much of him and can't pass judgement on what little i have seen. If you could shed some light on the subject and give your opinion it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jack the lad {Ed009's Note - I am a fan of the player. He is very fast and very strong with a strong tackle. This makes it pretty hard for players to get round him. His size, at 6'1, helps significantly too.}

Can/will enrique play tomorrow ed?
Cheers SL {Ed009's Note - As soon as a transfer is finalised, the player is ready to play. I am not so sure that he will though having taken part in, at most, one training session with the club. We will likely see Aurelio start at left back tomorrow.}

Hi Ed, Comolli has said it's likely enrique is our last signing. What do you think? Thanks {Ed009's Note - I think he said the exact same statement after Adam was signed.}

12 Aug 2011 13:42:28
Confirmed by DC that Liverpool will
not be signing any more players in
the transfer window. There will be
outgoings though.

That rules out a centre half then
which is dissapointing. That would
have sealed an excellent summer
transfer window

Redfish {Ed009's Note - I seem to remember him saying the same after Adam was signed.}

12 Aug 2011 13:41:24
Just seen on the liverpool website that Aquilani been given number 15, now i know that doesnt really mean anything because he was number 97 not long ago, but does maybe mean hes in line to play against sunderland, even if he goes before end of window? Great site and keep up the good work eds, this sites addictive {Ed009's Note - Until he is sold Kenny will use him as he sees fit. I can see him making a second half appearance.}

12 Aug 2011 13:37:20
If the rumours of a bid for Higuain are true then I'd suggest this is the chain of events the would happen:

Higuain - Liverpool
Van Persie - Real Madrid (Jose is a big fan)
Benzema - Arsenal

...don't think it will happen though.

-Shane.

12 Aug 2011 13:16:48
Ed's>> A question if I may,,, As you know the likes of munurubbished and csky have capitalised on our weakness down the left, do you think with Jose at LB it will make them play or force them to alter their strategy when they play us? Seems a strange way to ask the question but I think you get my drift.

Aquilani given the Number 15 on lfc.tv. Would that be the biggest indication yet that he is staying or am I reading too much into it?

Hi Eds, great site, come here daily. But I have a question I've been struggling to understand why we bought Henderson, hes naturally a CM, hes quick for a CM, I will admit that, but why would we play him as a winger? I'm sorry but he just isn't fast enough to be a winger, he is a good passer and can put a good tackle in, do you have any information or reason that will help me to understand why he was bought? If its for a back up midfielder, then why oh why did we spend £17m? We have Lucas, Spearing, Adam and Gerrard as CM's (I expect Aqua and Meireles to both leave). {Ed009's Note - He has a very good delivery on him which could lead to him being played out wide. It is part of Kenny's age old plan for the team. If you look at last time he was in charge we played with one out and out winger, in the ilk of Downing or Barnes, and one conventional tucked in wide midfielder, in the ilk of Henderson of Houghton. This may well enable us to win the midfield battle next season.}

12 Aug 2011 13:09:48
All the people on this site abusing Ngog and saying how bad a player he is are the same fools that will be complaining we let him go when he scores goals for his next club,remember he was our top scorer at 1stage last season when Torres was sulking and has a lot of potential.yous are the same crowd that wanted Lucas out this time last year and should be ashamed to call yourself a Liverpool supporter. Please post on rumours eds.

Could Jose be the final bit of incoming business this summer?

You can never say never, but it is likely.

I dont understand what he said. Pls elobarate Thanks

hey eds a big fan from ethiopia. after the signing of enrique who do u think is next? i dont have any info unless u tell me.great site by the way {Ed009's Note - a centre back almost certainly. Dann or Cahill or Mertesacker - as was the case yesterday.}

12 Aug 2011 13:08:20
Kuyt 2 nil tomorrow lads good prices on betfair

12 Aug 2011 12:56:27
comolli in interview says enrique likely to be last bit of business this summer some outgoings but prob no more incomings maybe no dann or cahill after all

12 Aug 2011 12:56:09
With the signings of downing, hendo, Adam, doni and enrique practically done that means we have spent a total of: 20 + 16 + 8 + 5.5 + 0 + 1 for jovanovic pay off = 50.5

I think we should now look for these deals :
Coutinho + 4mil for meirleies
Cahill for 10mil and n'gog
Aquilani for 9 mil

Coutinho could play striker/wing/mid
And we would cover costs

12 Aug 2011 12:22:31
Question to Ed,
How can Liverpool supporters let the likes of Poulsen, Degen and El Zhar know that they are not welcome due to them openly being leeches? Booing them doesn't sit right with me... Any ideas?
RHI {Ed002's Note - Regardless of any personal views, I think whilst players are at a club they should have the support of the fans.}

12 Aug 2011 12:16:07
I don't understand whya everybody wants to get rid of Aquaman, I think He's been great in the pre-season games and i think he will be great to thrrow on the pitch when we meet teams from the bottom half of the table. Last season we lost countles of thos "must-win" games.

12 Aug 2011 12:08:20
what are the wage bill numbers looking like

How many more have to leave before the books balance? {Ed002's Note - It is really not as simple as that I am afraid. You would do much better just to ignore all of the financial stuff.}

12 Aug 2011 12:07:12
See G Neville has come out in paper & said Lfc has no chance of winning EPL this year - KK should pin that up in changing room for EVERY game this season.

Hi eds if ngog leaves Liverpool personally I think we don't need back up striker as we have raheem sterling who is meant to be a world class player done well for reserves and did well against valerenga and kk might want to try and get the best from him out of the premier league and also we have Pacheco who seems a decent player reply back and tell me your thoughts thanks :)

12 Aug 2011 11:29:40
I wonder if Liverpool are waiting to see how loyal scott dann is to lfc? Perhaps that is why they aren't rushing a bid? What do you think eds? {Ed002's Note - Transfers do not work that way I am afraid.}

12 Aug 2011 11:29:36
Great to see that Liverpool have signed Enrique and have held on to Reina. The club is definitely going in the right direction. If Liverpool have a successful season and manage to bring Champions league football back to Anfield then other Spanish stars will be tempted to come to Liverpool with the presence of Reina and Enrique already at the club.

12 Aug 2011 11:25:29
Who do you want for a CB next season? Per Mertesacker or Cahill?

12 Aug 2011 11:24:26
well if bolton want david ngog and we want gary cahill it would seem easier to negotiate a fee involving swapping them plus a fee which would be in the region of 15 million and pacheco will play back up to carroll and suarez. kuyt will be used as a striker as we now have a pretty packed midfield if we doe sign cahill we will have enough to challenge for the title as we will have depth and quality for the first time since the 2008/2009 season this could be our year. Ed all these big figures been quoted for Cahill. I wouldn't pay anymore than we paid our new left back 5-6 mill. He is in the last year of his contract. If Bolton are looking for these big prices I would go back in January with a lower price again and just use Kelly as back up

Morning Eds/liverpool fans,

all this speculation about us going for dann/cahill and recently mertezacker which im liking he sound of HUGE defender and gd passer of ball,

but say we go for cahill and use ngog as part of the deal, will tht not infact leave us a striker short or will KK use kuyt back to his old position as striker? if not who or what will happen?

just my thoughts on the matter?

any answers Eds/Fans?REDMARKO

12 Aug 2011 10:39:21
ed, with jovanic off the wage bill, how much is that saving our club a week? cheers james {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get too tied up in discussing money as too many folks really don't understand the financial aspects. It is not possible to simply say that the club is saying the club is saving £90k or whatever a week without also knowing how much Liverpool paid him to move on - £1.5M, £2M, more? I don't know.}

Hi All

I live in Exeter and am desperate to get 2 tickets for the Carling Cup game, anyone know the best way.
I work with someone in the ECFC supporters group, but he may only be able to get himself 2 tickets (for the home end).
I would love to 'stand' in the away end and cheer on the Reds from there

Just a request to fellow reds I think it is unwise to fall for media propaganda that we are out of money.
What we are out of is Wage space.
Look as soon as Jova and Konchesky were sold owners have released transfer funds to Kenny where as we did not recoup any.
Media was saying before Enrique we are out of money.
Same will go for other signings.
I say it again there is still lots of time left and if other teams come for our so called "DEADWOOD" and we get substantial of them off the wage bill we may see few surprises.
For me genesis of transfer marry go round across Europe for next few days will be from North London i.e Arsenal and Spurs they need players and it will trigger Domino effect and we may see them spend some ridiculous amount of money on few players.

Enrique 6m, and after the original reports a couple of months ago about our initial bid of 4m, i'd say we've done a very VERY good bit of business there, DC is havin' a blinder with transfers this year, been one of our best signings that lad.

a few of you on here are questioning Enrique's price tag of £6mil are you for real? you paid over the odds for andy carroll by about 15mil, yet if Enrique was at a london team , you would of paid min double for him look at the price tags birmingham and westham are asking for there players, and you tell me, there bettter than Enrique??

we all know fees and wages have gone stupid, but who (US THE LOYAL FANS) do we blame??
man utd? chelsea? man city? newcastle? leeds? NO, THE PREMIER LEAGUE for letting the last ten years get out of hand

we cant blame players leaving if they get offered to double, triple there wages can we?

id move to the other end of the country if someone offered me £1,000 per week

the difference is, we're supporters, these players are just that players, in a game where money matters more than playing for a well known team..

sorry to go on a bit , but my blood boils when you see players on tv, moaning about their life

anyway, someone says steven taylor could be joining from newcastle united, i'd have him at liverpool

id move to manchester to work if someone offered me

i've heard that danny wilson wants to go out on loan for the season, any truth to this rumour. {Ed009's Note - It would make a lot of sense for the lad to get some first team football.}

Sneijder deal mindblowing - deal off. Man too poor

But senior Old Trafford sources told Sportsmail that United have now grown tired of a saga that has dragged on since the end of last season and have decided to pull the plug on the deal.

With 27-year-old Sneijder sitting right at the wrong end of United's age limit for new signings, Ferguson and chief executive David Gill have decided to walk away from a player who was demanding in excess of £200,000-a-week in wages.

United's decision to back off explains the fact that Sneijder's representatives have this week been hawking him around United's Barclays Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City. Neither club have an expressed an interest, with City sources describing the overall cost of the deal as 'mind blowing'.

With Sneijder desperate to leave Inter, it now seems very possible that the World Cup finalist will find himself stuck at the San Siro when the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Hi ed i was just wondering what was your opionin on enrique as in do you rate him or not as i dont know much about him an would like some opinions on him just to see what people think about him

an also apologies if you have answered before hand

Boyler1892 {Ed009's Note - Enrique is a very good, but not yet great player. He is fast and strong, with a good tackle that players find it very hard to get around. If Kenny and Clarke can iron out some of his positional flaws he could become a Spanish international, especially considering Capdevila's age.}
