Isn't it just brilliant when Man Utd get knocked out of the champions league and several days later lose to Bournemouth! Loving it!
LVG: football genius ;)

It does make the day seem brighter. I must say.

12 Dec 2015 23:55:48
Queue the Airplane Banners £££ he's quids in that pilot Haha.

13 Dec 2015 00:37:19
I'd be happier if we beat West Brom though.

13 Dec 2015 02:18:15
Don't really care what the nance do or don't do because it doesn't impact my beloved LFC nor will make us win our game. Like Annie said, I'd rather we beat WBA first before trash talking.

13 Dec 2015 02:43:00
I was going to laugh and celebrate then realised we lost to a club below them last weekend!

Here's hoping we turn it around this weekend!

13 Dec 2015 06:55:52
Iam feeling good abt this. I think we will win.

13 Dec 2015 10:05:49
After all the ridiculous results and this week's performances this week I'm the least confident I've been under klopp :/ still can't see us being beaten though! I really think a early goal could be absolutely key!

13 Dec 2015 11:06:52
Let's beat WBA before we trash talk.

Hi eds and other readers,

Long time reader but this is the first time I have actually posted.

I had the pleasure of attending Fulham vs Brentford today where a certain young Sergi Canos was playing so I thought I would give you a low down of how he did.

Canos was deployed on the right side of a three man attack for Brentford. The first thing that really impressed me was that despite being probably the smallest guy on the pitch he never shied away from any challenges. Any 50-50 challenges he went in with all heart and often came out on top. Through out the game he showed signs of a good first touch and didn't seem afraid to take a defender on (he definitely got the better of Luke Garbett on more than one occasion) . My particular highlight came when he received a long ball, skimmed pay a defender and cheekily lobbed the keeper to put the ball in the net. Sadly the goal was ruled out due to a hand ball!

Canos was definitely one of the best players on the pitch before he got subbed off in the 65th minute. This even though the quality of the game was really rather poor. Long ball, after long ball, after long ball just punted up front.

This leads me to my question for ed001 if he is around. Why have so many of our youngster been sent on loan to the championship with the style and quality is a million miles away from that of the premier league? It seems like skilful players like Canos would be much better served playing in a league will allow their skills to develop?

Love to all
Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - because the club were not very good at sorting out good loan moves for our youngsters. Partly because the reputation they had meant that the right teams were not often interested, but that should have just meant they didn't go out on loan rather than just sending them anywhere.}

12 Dec 2015 19:56:38
Many thanks Ed001. I thought as much. Just out of curiosity how is Canos viewed by those back at Liverpool? Do they think he may be one of the youngsters who could make the step up to the first team? I was certainly impressed by what I saw from him.

{Ed001's Note - he was highly rated, I would assume he still is, Pepjin certainly liked him as a player.}

13 Dec 2015 10:08:56
Thanks sandman love hearing about our youngsters from people seeing them first hand! Was a player in the midst of all our attacking youth I'd partially forgot about! Hopefully another to come back and push during the summer!

12 Dec 2015 18:56:36
Was just watching man u game and a pic of phil jones came up and it got me thinking what is the point in him being at man u? I remeber he chose them over us. Stella career he's having now.

Dodged a bullet there. He is aweful.

13 Dec 2015 02:45:09
I agree Redohio - I didn't think that at the time though!

13 Dec 2015 10:11:33
I think he was ruined by playing a different position every week. I'm sure with concentrated training on a certain position and regular game time we would have seen a lot more development as I don't think you can say there wasn't a player in there and still could be as he's still relatively young for a defender.

13 Dec 2015 13:33:50
Neither did I Hoola, I will admit. I was gutted when he went to Utd. Well, all's well that ends well.

12 Dec 2015 18:32:18
Juergen has said that he does not think he needs new players in January as he wants to work with the players he has.

Would this include Markovich?

13 Dec 2015 00:53:05
That's not actually what he said - or at least not all of it. If the "right player" is available he will try and get them.

12 Dec 2015 13:24:53
Hey Lfc fans.

So my prediction for this weekend is 0-0.

I think lfc struggle upfront and haven't got the right balance just yet and continuity so that's my reason
I also don't think at all that west brim will score either.

I also think Liverpool need to continue to play origi and just allow him to get used to the responsibility upfront and feel like how the man that will score the goals.

And last but not least I think formino is one of the worst lfc players ever signed . Bang average at best.

Well the last loss we had under Klopp we bounced back very well. I would like to think we'll do that again, so I'm hoping for a couple of goals and a clean sheet.

Additionally, I remember another highly rated South American who joined us called Suarez, he had a similar debut half season with us, scoring only 4 goals in 11 games. However, like Firmino, he had shown what most refer to as "glimpses" of what was to come. We are seeing this with Firmino (vs Chelsea and City) . The only difference in the two is the fact that Suarez scored on his debut.

A little bit of patience goes a long way and Firmino needs just that. I think he's got what it takes to do really well here.

12 Dec 2015 15:31:01
Your posts are laughable mate. I don't know if you think you're convincing us that you're a Liverpool fan - you're not.

12 Dec 2015 16:16:40
Anyone got any Thermidor sauce?
Water's boiling.

12 Dec 2015 16:16:49
He's certainly not LFC.

He's Red Lobster that supports the "Prawn Sandwich Brigade"

😎.

12 Dec 2015 16:40:50
Did someone just compare Firmino to Luis Suarez?
I give up.

12 Dec 2015 16:49:46
A lot of people gave Suarez the same treatment that firmino is getting now. Plus yeah there is no comparison Firmino is a cheating lying. who shows cannibalistic tendencies.

12 Dec 2015 16:59:49
Red Lobster, give it a rest. You're a manc. No one cares what u think.

12 Dec 2015 17:12:54
Didn't suarez score like 9 goals in his first 18 months?

Firmino and Suarez are very similar in how they play the game.

Give firmino time and play him up top and he will fine 😊.

12 Dec 2015 19:30:48
It's only a bit of banter Redohio mate.

I posted over on their site the other day and they were pretty cool with me 😎.

12 Dec 2015 20:07:16
Firmino is nothing like Suarez. He is a classy and skillful player who will do well for LFC. He doesn't have the same mentality as Suarez, and he's not as selfish. He hust needs more time to shine, simple as. Suarez is a one off as we know, no point in comparing them.

12 Dec 2015 21:09:27
Your judgement of firmino is simply a joke. Liverpool have had some shocking signings in recent years such as voronin, poulsen, konchesky, josemi, Nunez, cheyrou just to name a few. Placing firmino in the same category is laughable. I'm guessing as a Man U fan you just came to this page because you've had a pretty bad week and you're a bit upset.

13 Dec 2015 00:45:00
Basing it purely on the man as a footballer, I don't think firmino is in the same league as Suarez. Suarez always had the bit of magic about him, coupled with a dogged desire to win the ball, even before he became prolific. Firmino seems like a bit of a luxury player so far. Just my opinion, and I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect him to become a star for us.

13 Dec 2015 10:15:43
Only thing that I think needs to be added is that firmino at hoffenheim was simply class and I don't even think we've seen glimpses of him at his best yet. that's no guarantee we ever will but definitely deserves time as if we did get him back at his best I don't think the Suarez comparisons would seem so ridiculous!

12 Dec 2015 11:54:59
The silent protest away at sion went very very well not a peep out of our lot for 90mins what on earth is going on? Virtually every club in the league now has better fans than us most teams in Europe too including sion apart from the Italians who are mainly worse.

12 Dec 2015 12:55:18
I think there were 800 fans according to the commentator. I heard them quite a bit. Did you not watch the game as well as not listen to it?

12 Dec 2015 13:05:02
Is this a joke?

12 Dec 2015 13:14:55
It might be somebody put off by the weather, so he's decided to go Fishing on here.

12 Dec 2015 15:24:03
I heard the sion fans all through and I heard our lot chant coutinho for about 10 seconds when he came on but that's all.

12 Dec 2015 16:17:22
So you were there were you Sam?

Easy to criticise from your sofa.

12 Dec 2015 17:01:28
Poor excuse for a comment by the OP.

12 Dec 2015 11:52:14
Seems as if Klopp has said that he won't be buying any players in January, as he wants to give all squad players a chance to prove themselves. Gives me the impression that he already thinks he can do things with what he has got, so no need for endless questions to the Eds about whether we are going to sign this player or that player, but I won't be holding my breath.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

12 Dec 2015 13:10:22
Just seems Klopp is stating common sense repeating what the edds keep banging on about, us having too many players. We have no space in the squad so the summer seems a better time to move players on who haven't performed over a whole season, THEN think about signings.

12 Dec 2015 13:15:56
He's not having a kneejerk reaction; new tactics so he's given players more than 2/3 months to implement them.

I think we will see changes in the summer and at the end of it a more balanced team with a little more quality in places.

Good to see some of the youngsters in and around the squad - filling the gaps rather than bringing in a new player to sit on the bench for 90% of the time.

12 Dec 2015 14:18:03
He has said now plenty of times that he wants to see what this group can do. There won't be many moving in January with thr Euros in the summer too, but I think more than him recognising this group as outstanding, he is giving everyone an opportunity to show that they belong.

12 Dec 2015 08:44:36
Hi Eds

Sorry I no its been asked before in some capacity but have we had any talks regarding Grujic please and any chance of him arriving in January?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - If you know it has been asked before why not use the search engine?}

12 Dec 2015 11:37:07
Hhmmm good point mate sorry. Just didn't no if was any more in it since last post on him.

12 Dec 2015 07:20:13
Hi eds, now that we have the nearly players article, can we have one on nearly managers? Hope its not asking too much.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I will have a look at doing that mate.}
