Harry Wilson makes it READING 2-4 LFC
Last half of extra time to come.
Keep it going boys!

what was the final score in the youth cup game guys

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Reading won on penalties. it's a shame for our lads as they were dropping like fly's with cramps in the second period of extra time, after playing themselves back from 2-0 down. To then go on to lead 4-2, got pulled back to 4-4 after extra time then to lose on penalties.
Gutted for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

The LFC lads were unlucky to have that early goal disallowed and again unlucky to go behind after some early promise but there were 2 sides out there and Reading played very well. Their keeper was great.

Bit of a beg here, I'm not going to dress it up. But can anyone help me with tickets to Liverpool vs. Newcastle in May? Me and my mate haven't been to game in years due to working mainly on weekends, but we have arranged to have that day off so we can go to the match. anyone who can help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

eds anything on Arda Turan?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I did hear he likes tomato ketchup on his toast for breakfast, and that it has to be spread from right to left or it is bad luck.}

Did you get that off YouTube Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Almost certainly.}

A question for Ed001 if you are around. I was wandering if you knew about an U21 goalkeeper of LFC named Yusuf Mersin. If so do you think he has a future with LFC? I am intrigued because he used study at a school next door to mine! Thank you

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - goalkeeper is a difficult position, it is going to be very tough for him to make it. Right now he is fighting for an U21 spot, but he is getting there and is only 19, so he has time on his side. It is just such a specialist position, with so few places to fight over, that it is the hardest position to break through in. I don't see him having that outstanding belief in himself that a keeper needs, so I am not convinced he will make it with us. Hopefully he will prove me wrong.}

Thanks for the reply Ed.

Had a little dream as you do, and in it we beat united 3-1 Flanagan opened scoring with Suarez and Sturridge both getting one (whilst assisting each other's) decided to put a cheeky quid on lfc 3-1 flan to score because of it, anyways just interested in everyone else's predictions (the result and scorers)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Really think we'll turn them over go 5-2 (Sturridge 12, 57; Sterling 17, Hendo 31, Suarez 72/ Jones 38, Van Penalty 84)

Agree0 Disagree0

4-1 Liverpool

Suarez, Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling

Januzaj

Agree0 Disagree0

Toddythered, will Van Penalty score a Persie?

If I'm being honest not that I rate wellbeck what-so-ever I'd be more worried about him then rvp on current form, it's becoming seemingly obvious he wants out and I mean look at Torres when he wanted out of Liverpool he started playing appaullingly and I do have to wonder if a similar thing is going on with vanPersie with that said rvp has scored on six of our last 7 meetings if I'm remembering correctly so we'll see.

I dreamt last night that my very expensive work shoes fell to pieces. But hazar!, I awoke this morning to a perfectly spiffy pair of Julius Marlow's.

Agree0 Disagree0

Januzaj will never score against us

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't predict a score, but my prediction is, a new Battle of Agincourt, a mascare, no taking prisoners and yep, ManU have got it coming. Hope Rodgers kicks of his prematch press conference similar to Fergies last season, anyone else remember that when whisky nose said, '' I'm pleased the Liverpool fans are prepared to be patient because its going to take a long time'' (to rebuild LFC)? Well it did not take that long and it did not take long for ManU to fall down. I'm really looking forward to sunday.

Eds just for the self-satisfaction, would you think that I, as a 14 year old, am the youngest regular(ish) poster? And who would be the oldest?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

Trust me i'm the oldest, fought in the first crimean war too!

Agree0 Disagree0

I fought in the War of the Roses- I forgot to buy flowers on Valentine's Day!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 as well mate, I might just beat you to it ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Tel is seemingly older than me. Judging by most of the posts, the Liverpool posters are pre-pubescent. Older ones will have been dropped on their heads when younger - so there is some sort of excuse.}

13 Mar 2014 00:48:49
Always good to see a nice, positive response from Ed02 :)

Afternoon eds and fellow reds,

How do you think we will approach the game on sunday?

Do you think we will sit back and wait for them to come at us? or do you think we will take the game to them?

Do you think Brendan is happy with a draw here when he knows the game is crucial for manu?

I think we will sit back, as we have been a lot of games this season, and wait for them.

Would you guys be happy with a draw? Or do you think we should just aim for a win to keep track of Chelsea above?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If ya ain't first, you're last!

No seriously, I hope we don't do that. Play for the win. That's why we play the game. To win.

12 Mar 2014 16:09:50
Under any other manager I'd agree with you, but I don't see BR settling for a point.
I'm not sure I could say any game this season we've looked for a draw. We went to the Emirates, Etihad and Stamford Bridge this season, losing all but certainly not looking for draws.

The added bonus of the game meaning a lot to United could add something, then again, we all know Moyes bottles the big occasion, so he could leave Van Persie out of the line up and save him for the champions league, knowing they have more chance of champions league football next season if they win the trophy this year.
Certainly 3 points against them will diminish any hope they have of catching us, but it doesn't rule them out of 4th place.

I seem to remember a quote by Moyes this season to the equivilant of 'if I did that and this happened you would have slaughtered me'
Horrible mistake, I bet Fergie was sick when he saw that.

Anyway, it will be very interesting to see both line ups, there's obviously no reason Moyes needs to rest V Persie for the game, players on that kind of money should be able to play twice a week, however maybe the chance of V Persie being injured will make him think twice, because he'll undoubtedly be hammered by the press if he gets injured playing a fairly meaningless league game when a very important champions league tie approaches.
As I said, it'll be interesting!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will go for the same players that we put out against Everton and Arsenal. If you see previous matches whenever a team has not been afraid to play and counter with numbers against Utd away from home they have been quite successful. We have so much pace in our counter and so I think Brendan will tell his boys to have a real go.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dreamt about it. Call it a premonition. We came out all guns blazing and took an early lead through Sterling,, they pushed forward and we picked them off on the counter. 4nil up at half time and Old Trafford was empty,,,, apart from a coupla thousand Reds in the corner singing "wer going to win the league" in full voice.
Haha I seriously think we will go for it from the kick off though mate it's been the pattern of our play all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that's true we have always gone for the win and I think we will sunday too, just hope Rodgers is not too scared to lose that Champions League spot, takes one game at the time and just hope that it leads us all the way to the title. Me and a lot of you have been so down in recent years that its not even in the books to think about a title challenge, we just want to get back to the champions league.

Would you boys leave Coutinho out?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2014 18:33:27
No mate. Although I thought that team lacked solidity I would use the team that beat Arsenal and Everton, with perhaps Johnson instead of Cissokho.
Twice I was proved wrong by that team/formation and I suspect BR may have an 'if it isn't broke' attitude.
Hit them hard on the break,

Agree0 Disagree0

Would probably go for the same.

Would you pick Sakho to replace Skrtel(not likely to happen), Toure? Or os it too soon?

How do you think Moyes will approach the game? Pressure us high up with the backing of the fans or just lay low as he usually does with a compact midfield?

Agree0 Disagree0

There weak at the back were grate up front were not grate at the back so we should attack bombar them they're there for the taken!!!

Hey eds and reds, I was just curious if the FA or UEFA or any footballing authority is looking into retrospective punishment for diving? It needs to be eliminated. I understand trying to sell the foul, but robben went down last night with 0 contact looking for a penalty last night.

Hey, which academy/u21 players do you see is the next to be a regular among the first team squad? We've seen recently Sterling, Flanagan, Ibe etc break through or a least get on the bench on a regular basis.
Where is Jerome Sinclair, Daniel Trickett-Smith and Jordan Rossiter at the moment in terms of first team football?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All of them are years away. Watch the games there's one tonight & find out for yourself & form your own opinions

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2014 14:00:51
Jack Dunn, Ryan McLaughlin, Brad Smith, Marc Pelosi and Kris Peterson for me. The likes of Paez and Sama would probably have had more chances if we weren't so over loaded with centre backs! Jordan Rossiter, Jerome Sinclair, Cameron Branagan, Harry Wilson, Ryan Kent, Seyi Ojo, Lloyd Jones, Chiverella and Sergi Canos are all highly rated. However they are all still too young to break into the regular match day squad. Jordan Ibe is a great player and if we didn't have either half of SAS he wouldn've had more of a chance I'm sure. How do you drop Suarez or Sturridge for an 18 year old though?

I hope Coady or Baio get a chance but doubt they will. Wisdom will come back with some fairly successful first team football under his belt. The same can be said of Suso and Adorjan (if Adorjan isn't sold). Robinson will probably be sold along with Ngoo after they have struggled to stand out in multiple loan moves. They are like Toni Silva and Nathan Eccleston. Look so good at youth level but simply cannot make the step up to Premier League level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry Wilson looks a bit special. some of his runs and dribbling are tremendous but apart from Ibe, Suso etc I can't see much for next season mainly because they have all been pushed up because of loans and first team promotions, so essentially they have to develop a bit more. although a surprise might happen.

On Robinson. I think he moved to the wrong club on loan, I would have hoped he would have developed and got rid of some of the rashness in his tackling - but 2 sendings off despite some good performances at a team having a terrible season isn't great - especially as he was at Wolves previously. when I watch him for England or our U21 he gets forward, has good pace, work on crosses needed but can play and pass, and can defend but its just not happening. Maybe he needs a chance like Flanno had and when he first came in, maybe not but I think he has potential still.

Morining ed001/02Few headlines saying Liverpool will hand BR a 60m war chest in the summer if European football is landed? That could really change our team. What positions are outlines as priority and I remember last season a udinese player Muriel? Being bounced around could he still be a viable option? Also Youness Boulhanda is one hell of a player would he fit into our team and have we held interst?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can we qualify for europe first, the season isn't over yet

Agree0 Disagree0

You didn't get it fully if we got champion league then he will get 200 millions war chest so that he can buy every player that fans want to play for Liverpool and fsg is going to make a 300k seater stadium.

Hi all,
I just wanted to put out there that if we were to sell suarez how much do you lot think we'd sell for and who'd be his ideal replacement? Should be interesting ready the replies YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Titi Camara.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should sell him for not less than 120 mn
Then use the money to buy Costa, Yarmolenko. Konoplyanka

Agree0 Disagree0

120. REALLY?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry bob 120 might be a little less as he is almost on Ronaldo and messi level surely excess of 150

Agree0 Disagree0

Who could afford him really? Probably only PSG City and clubs in Russia.
It'll be a mix of cash PLUS players from Real, Barca or Juventus if he ever left.

Agree0 Disagree0

Juventus have a team full of 50 year olds and pogba no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Vidal I would take, and Isla, those two are excellent players. Neither old players either.}

12 Mar 2014 01:36:10
So coutinho or Allan on Sunday?
Sterling has to start on his current form.
Personally I'd like to see our arsenal & Everton bashing team with gerrard hendo coutinho central, but Allan is playing well and bulks up the midfield for us.
Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That spot will probably be marked by Fellaini . I reckon wee Phil will tear him a new one. The man is so slow in everything he does. As always, it's just my opinion :)

Agree0 Disagree0

The same was said about replacing coutinho with allen in the everton & arsenal games but coutinho played key roles in those games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Countino for me always turn up for the big games so I will put him ahead of allan

Agree0 Disagree0

Allen got in ahead of sterling let's not write any of the 3 replacing one another

Agree0 Disagree0

For this one I'd go for Allen, a midfield 3 of Gerrard, Hendo and Allen will be solid mobile and give good support to Suarez, Sturridge & Stirling. Allen has been good in the big games and is beginning to show what he has.

Looking forward to the game at the weekend hopefully we play like we did at city or spurs and if we do I just can't see united living with our movement, pressing and pure quality although it is their cupfinal for the year, getting butterfly's thinking about it, I'm sure with the length of time we have had to prepare for the game the players will be raring to go, would also bet on a sending off, most likely fellaini.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What if we can't also deal with the movement of mata rvp rooney and januzaj.I don't understand why you think this game would be easy
Its at old trafford and they would be really fired up for the match(how many times has that been the other way round)

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said that it would be an easy game, wot I said was if we play to our level then I can't see united living with us and if you think Moyes will play rooney, rvp, mata and adnan I just can't see it he's to negative for Tht he will be happy with a draw, look at how they played at arsenal and at home to Chelsea, any games Tht they opened up they have gotten beaten in

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, tirconnall. We could give them a beating on Sunday.

United have practically nothing to play for in the league. They will be better off saving their energy for the CL game a few days later.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Jessie, Southampton, Spurs, West Brom, Stoke, West Ham etc were all at home and fired up and we beat them all. Not to mention ridiculing teams at Anfield this season. UTD aren't to be underestimated ofc, but i'm pretty sure we can easily cope with the movement of Mata, Rooney, RVP and Januzaj.

Most other teams have this season.
