Anyone watch the under 21's this evening? I know they won 4-0 and Ojo scored twice but i'm just wondering if anyone could do a little analysis for those who missed it. Always good to see the youngsters doing well.
Cheers.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I'd like to see Ojo get a little run out against Middlesbrough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ojo scored twice and assisted once for Kent's goal. Quite obvious he is at a level above the rest of the guys on the pitch, even though he is only starting off as an U-21 player.

Ryan Kent had an excellent game. He is direct fast, tricky and full of running and closing down. Not dissimilar to jack Dunn, who is out injured.

Cameron Brannagan is just a very intelligent footballer. He played a role that Joe Allen played last time against Spurs, and was very good at it. Physically, he will need to get bigger and stronger, and if that happens, I can see the young man doing very well.

Lawrence Vigouroux had a very nervy start but he looks a good GK. His long passing out from the back is good, and his short stopping is excellent. His handling of the area is not too shabby either. Once he settles in, he might well outs Danny Ward as the first choice reserve 'keeper.

Kevin Stewart played CB, and then RB after Randall went of injured. he had a good game and was largely comfortable throughout.

Samed Yesil scored, looked sharp and could have scored 2 more. It was good see him back and if not at his best, certainly very close to it. He also seem to have bulked-up a bit.

Jordan Williams, Daniel Tricket-Smith and LLoyd Jones all had good games. They did their job efficiently and very well. No mistakes.

I am not one to criticize youngsters, but Joe Maguire the LB, whenever I have seen him play, seems not at a level to the rest of the team. He might well go on to improve vastly and be great footballer, but right now, like most of last year for the U-18's, he looks like needs to do some work.

Agree5 Disagree0

Cheers AG, much appreciated, any idea if Harry Wilson is going to get a run out with the U21's this season?
I also found that the match is being replayed around lunchtime on LFCTV if anyone else wants to give it a watch.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Sep 2014 10:24:22
AG in your opinion mate who is the stand out CB from our U21 or youth set up to push for the first team squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody could argue that Stewart is the best centre back but then again he's a couple of years older than Jones who is the bigger talent but has no experience yet unlike Stewart who has been on loan a few times & it's really shows.

Agree0 Disagree0

HX: I am not so sure. But right now, it is Kent, Ojo, Canos and even O'Hanlon who are being given a chance ahead of Wilson. That could change of course, but I get the feeling Wilson will be held back a little and used regularly for the U-18's again.

Lloyd Jones is the closes CB to a senior team appearance IMO. I don't see Kevin Stewart playing CB, definitely not for the senior team. So, yeah, I could argue against Stewart.

The stand-out, even though it's only 3 games into a 22 games season, is Oluwaseyi 'Seyi' Ojo. I don't want to put unfair pressure on the young man, but he is the stand-out, just like Sterling, Suso, Ibe, Pacheco and Nemeth were. We all know what happened to Sterling and we all know what happened to Pacheco and Nemeth too. But, keep an eye on this kid, he is a very very special talent. Eventually, I can see him being moulded into a CM.

Ed's or anyone know a Good football streaming site other than FirstRow? They've put in a page which makes you have to turn off Adblock to access the site and I can't stand the constant adds popping up. Any help is appreciated.

Wiziwig I've always used without a problem. Plenty of links of varying quality. Good for most other sports too.

Agree4 Disagree0

Wiziwig is usually pretty decent from past experience mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

NotIntheKnow

Thanks for the heads up about FirstRow. After reading your post I thought I better check too.
I had the same problem (I use Firefox). I've installed another browser extension Add-On (an anti-adblocker called Element hiding helper for AdBlock Pro 1.3) and I have it Firstrow working as before.

You need to block a piece of script called advertisement2.js and I can provide more details on what you will need to do if required. If the Eds are OK with this. Good luck

Just get Adblock for chrome and use wiziwig, best quality links from that site are usually cricfree or stadium-live

Agree0 Disagree0

A few weeks back tried to use acestream link and looks like the have updated aceplayer and seems you'll need a 64bit operating system now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I usually go to wiziwig and the stream I usually watch is by Bloodzeed, his AceStream videos are exceptional quality, but when using AceStream, you should buffer the video around 15 minutes before kick off as it's a slow buffer, but once it gets going, it's lag free. The only time you will get lag is if you load the stream as the game starts, that's when most people are loading it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't have any problem, watching first row with Adblock Plus, don't need to disable ads and still can watch game with firefox - just checked Arsenal Chelsea to make sure I can get the real stuff later.

wouldn't it be hilarious if Cleverley scored the winner this weekend?

Believable2 Unbelievable21

Only if it's an own goal!

Now a QPR win without United scoring would be funny.

Agree12 Disagree0

Wouldn't it be funny and delightlful if Rio Ferdinand scored the winner this weekend.

Agree15 Disagree0

Yes if it was an own goal - here's hoping he tries a 50 yard lofted back pass to Guzman; i'd be happy with a hat trick of own goals from him :o)

For those of you who might have caught either of the GAA sports on Sky (Football and Hurling) the All-Ireland Finals in both grades are taking place in the coming weeks. Both finals will be appearing on ssn again, so if any of ye have any queries then log on to the new site.

Every name my boy has had on his top recently has left. He's either a jinx or a bad judge of player.

This dates back to Torres. When he asked for Suarez I was a bit nervy. He wants Sturridge on his next one. So I've put him straight don't worry. I'll keep an eye on the little dude

Anyone notice how last season it was one game at a time from Rodgers & now after his 3rd press conference of the season he says he's picked the team or what he hopes would be the team for the next 5 games? Seems abit strange to me although you obviously have to plan in advance for champions league games

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 Sep 2014 17:07:36
You need to plan on how you're going to rotate your squad. Rogers did however say that you cannot plan for injuries etc. I'm also sure that if certain players impressed in training or on the pitch then they might be given chances elsewhere, Rogers is flexible. However, it's nice to know that they're being so meticulous.

Agree4 Disagree0

12 Sep 2014 23:14:33
Rodgers didn't need to do that last season, because the squad was so thin most players knew they were playing.
He's trying to give the squad confidence by saying they'll all play a part, which he's required to do now because the squad is, frankly awesome and pretty big!

Hey team, not football, but would be thankful for a little bit of help.

On wednesday I move to New Zealand for a year or so on a working, holiday visa! is there anyone living there? any LFC supporter groups? to be honest, any advice would be greatly appreicated!

Thanks, Nelly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Alrite mate,

I went to NZ on a working holiday visa back in 2007 so I have some experience of the place. First off I can say that it's a phenomenal country, aesthetically beautiful but, more importantly, incredibly friendly people. If you have any problems there will always be people about who are happy to help - so worry not!

In terms of work you can do 3 months agricultural stuff and get a years extension to your visa (if that's what you want) or you can opt for trying to get a standard job in the city, bar work, barista and the like (though you will need licenses to do them - which are easily attainable).

In terms of agriculture work there are a number of hotspots, Napier on the North Island is especially good, apple picking, vineyard work, etcetera and it's a really chilled out place too. If you are going to stay in hostels (and I assume you are) then AquaLodge in Napier is amazing, chilled out vibe, very friendly people and and if you contact Tony, the owner, he can arrange work for you before you even arrive.

On the South Island there is Blenheim and Nelson, similar types of work to Napier and similarly beautiful. You could also go to Queenstown, the famous ski resort, and work there (that will count toward the agriculture quota - weird I know). As I say you can find normal work in most towns and cities, just be prepared to move around a bit to find it. And also talk to fellow backpackers, they'll have good info to share which will help you find work. Also bear in mind that a lot of the agricultural work is seasonal so just do a bit of research/make phone calls before heading off someone for work.

As for tourist stuff I couldn't really recommend one particular place as the entire country is phenomenal. In the far north of the north island its climate is tropical and also has the famous 90mile beach. There are tons of places to go in the North Island, all spectacularly beautiful in their own way. The only place I would recommend to avoid is Palmerston North: John Cleese once said of the place that "if you were looking to commit suicide but perhaps lacked the courage then pay it a visit" or something to that effect. All I can say is that it is flat, boring and with nothing worthwhile to see - but that is the only place in NZ I could say that about.

As for the South Island well its just one spectacular place after another. Your only real problem will be trying to find the time to see everything. It's honestly spectacular mate you'll have a superb time.

Just a few other notes:

- there is a thing called WOOFing, it basically means you live on someones property (usually farmland or something) and get free rent, food, etc in exchange for working on it. It's a cool experience and a different way to get a feel for the place and the people.
- A British Drivers licence is perfectly valid over there. If you are buying a used car though get either a mechanic or somebody good with cars to have a good look at any vehicle your thinking about buying: I saw a few people buy absolute bangers unawares so just get it checked properly before handing over cash.
- Maori's are sound, really friendly engaging people. Just don't play rugby with them - I made the mistake of having a game of 2v2 on a lunch break with me French mate and these two 16 year old maori's. They smashed us. Even a light tackle felt like being hit by a bus.

Apart from that mate enjoy yourself, it's an amazing experience and an amazing country. In terms of the footy you'll find, as long as it ain't too late, that it's on in most pubs. Plenty of hostels get the ssn equivalent as well and, unlike over here, they will have all the games televised, so getting to watch us should be no bother. I remember bragging to mates how good we were as a team (because at the time we were!). The first game we watched together was Liverpool vs Marseille at Anfield, my French mate happened to be a raving Marseille fan. And wouldn't you know it we played like dogs and lost 1-0 to a wonder goal from valbuena, fun times. Also watched us lose to Milan in the 2nd CL final as well. not the happiest of football memories! But a superb experience.

If you have any questions mate just reply on here and i'll keep checking and try to get back to you. Enjoy the travels la, I wish I was going back!

If given a choice I would go for the North Island.
Much warmer the further north you go.
South Island has beautiful scenery but quite a few of the locals in the small towns have eyes too close together and their parents are brother and sister.
If you've ever been to Wisbeech near Peterborough you'll know what I mean.

The North island for the liveability, culture and climate. The South for the holidays - unbelievable scenery and insane sports. You will have a ball.

As much as I love watching England, especially when the youngsters get a chance, I can't help cringing every time one goes down. Then dreading the injury list that returns to the club. BR seems a little pissed too.

Of course if you have a lot of international players then you can expect a percentage damage and that is the same for all clubs that have this type of player.

Surely though a club must have some say. Would it be difficult to pass over the clubs training schedule of a player and insist that the England camp adhere to it? These players are developed to that standard by the clubs at their expense and campaigns can be won or lost on these players abilities. England couldn't play Studge against the Swiss because they didn't follow his training cycle (according to BR). Not clever.

Villa next and we are already minus 6 players and its only the fourth game of the season.

They look pretty strong to me and have often caused us problems in the past however, I believe we will win 2-0. My confidence in our defence now obvious.

go get 'em Reds
