I'm not a scouser, but I'm a very proud Liverpool fan.

I don't just love the football club, I love the city, the culture and the people.
The people above all make Liverpool (and Everton) great, and second to none.

I'm lucky enough to get to most home games, and when I do I'm greeted with the friendliest and most accomadating people I've ever met.

Scousers are a very unique and special people. Determined, courageous, and dignified most of all. I can honestly say, hand on heart, I don't believe any other group of people could have coped and handled themselves in the face of such adversity - for such a long time.

I'm forever in awe of the sense of community you show.

Margaret Aspinall is one of the most inspirational people I've ever known of. As is everyone else involved in uncovering the truth.

Can't wait to add my voice to the thousands upon thousands in showing my support at Anfield in a couple of weeks. But somehow I feel it will never be enough.

A Manc Manchester United Fan here just wanting to say how incredibly happy I am that the truth about Hillsborough has come out, with perhaps more to follow.
As much as I HATE Liverpool when it comes to the game, very few things make me as sad as the harrowing events of that day.
Your city, team and people should be very very proud of such perseverance.

y is pacheco is in the reserves squad and not in the 1st team squad. we are short of strikers so y not put him on bench and he is a decent player.

It is baffling..

Because he is not a striker..

BthekingB

I hope Suso or Yesil will be on the bench on Saturday.

Morgan had his chance and it got to him a little I think, he didn't take it like he should have. but that's not to say i don't think he isn't ready it's just time for us to see what suso can do even for 10mins. Assaidi will also be playing, I think he will be like Yossi with pace.

Yossi had SKILLLL, Flair, Passing, acceleration, ball control, shooting accuracy & on top of that his play making was class.

Assaidi has the same attributes but with more speed.

Eds, where has all this talk of ronaldo moving come from? Is it just a money making scheme from his agent or does he actually want to move? And with the price tag quoted surely city would be the only available option to him, but that surely wouldnt happen with his contact with utd wud it? Im just confused as to where he could possibly go, another kaka situation where no1 can afford him so he will surely have to stay? Cheers mike {Ed002's Note - Posturing I would think.}

To the Ed's, I would like to think that true football fans across all the country and even further would appreciate that the disaster in 1989 could have been them. I have educated my son (21) and my step sons (14, 12) about Hillsborough. The profound effect and devastating psychological and emotional trauma of loved ones not returning from the game added to finally finding out the realities of the cover up is unimaginable. Are you able to identify the disrespectful who 'disagree' with the positive and humanistic 'posts' and ban them?

Evo JFT 96 YNWA

Wolves fan in peace.firstly to all who lost loved ones our thoughts are with you.personally my trips to both anfield and Goodson have always been memorable meeting good football people sharing a pint and a laugh. What happened at hillsborough could have happened to any club and to blame the blameless is all to easy let true justice be done. You're dignity and fight for justice has been amazing once again our thoughts are for those whose lives changed forever.god bless wwfc.

Newcastle fan here, I truley hope that justice can be done and the senior police and MPs who helped smear the Liverpool fans and the city of Liverpool are prosecuted. They are in the eyes of all true football fans.

If you look at what has happened recently with the phone hacking scandel you see the dirty relationship between News International, the Police and MPs which rang true all those years ago, nothing has changed until now.

the familys and friends of all those fans at the match and those who lost their lives had to fight for justice for so long, hopefully it will be a full public enquiry and the police at the top swing along with the MPs and the at the Sun.

Red sox fans have abused FSG and want Red sox to be sold as soon as possible. FSG have said if valuation is met then they will sell. Plz can some one tell me what went wrong as lots of fans say they make huge profits and spend big. {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

If FSG are willing to ofload Red Sox where does that leave us. Perhaps it's a way of putting LFC in the shop window, investors may think if FSG are willing to sell Red Sox if the price is right it may also apply to LFC.

Bobbinred

Here we go again. Run with a rumor, boys. Follow it to every possible conclusion. Get angry if possible.

Only a small group of red sox fans want the team sold. That group is never happy and will always complain. the red sox are certainly not for sale and neither is LFC.

To orignal poster Red sox are in crisis and can't compete with their rivals on the field.since FSG bought liverpool fc they have restricted their spending and Red sox fans are furious.if you look FSG site they are getting same abuse as liverpool and Red sox fans have made it clear they want FSG to sell but FSG inside sources say they want more then $1.3 billion if they sell where forbes value them around $1 billion

Or it might mean they want to focus on us and not splitting funds between the two.

JW

Red sox fans are angry and think since fsg bought liverpool it has effected massively to their team. Top of it whatever Fsg promise them on a letter by spending big was a lie and now FSg think only to invest on young players which will take years to compete with their rivals

Hi Eds how's it going? Is there any news on re hiring Xavi Valero Verchili with Reina's form dropping and him not working as far as I know. I remember reading on here that that may be happening. Any word?

Cheers

Jay {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Valero is seriously needed

since he has gone reina has been slowly slipping.

KK deserves a knighthood for his role in the aftermath of Hillsborough. This in my mind surpassed his footballing achievenebts and show his human side. I know Shankly once said football is more important than life itself but he certainly didn't mean it literally. Let's face it KK has remained faithful to Liverpool and its people.

He truly is the king.

This is not the first time this has been mentioned. But the establishment has until now failed to recognise the true version of events. So lets hope so, because what KK did in the immediate days after that tragic event and ever since deserves recognition, and respect. You have to listen to him talk about that day and you see the pain eched on his face, this is a man the cares and has given so much. I may be biased but in my opinion KK transends football in this respect, and for that reason he should get the recognition and respect he deserves. Also KK's wife Marina deserves a mention for has done. All the best.

KNEE JERK.

I have more respect for our KK than any other man I know. If anyone in this country deserves a Knighthood it is our Kenny YNWA

He deserves it, and I hope it happens. Could someone with influence (like Ed002) possibly whisper in the queen's ear?

I've been saying Kenny should be knighted for years. Bit of a travesty that has hasn't been if you ask me.

Sadly I don't think it will happen now. Chances are that the media darling & saviour of mankind, David Beckham will be knighted next.

Anyway who needs a "Sir" when we have a "KING"!

A poem for the 96!!..............

We're oh so glad that justice came, our brothers now can rest, forever in the hearts of all, embroidered on our crest!

The policing & the government, should hang their heads in shame, their efforts on that fateful day were really very lame!

How the hell they slept at nights, with facts behind closed doors, the cover up & all that pain & making their own laws!

Well i for one want justice done, as someone needs to pay, as those who lost the ones they love, were haunted day by day!

Now they talk of 41, the lives they should have kept, though 96 there would be now, if they weren't so inept!

'89 to present day, we all walked hand in hand, immense support that never waned, the finest in the land!

A red will never be forgot, though heaven's now your home, from all us fans around the world, you'll never walk alone!!

UCCM

Very very good mate jft96

if you may ed? from a spurs fan, you would have thought the authorities would have and should have learned from their mistakes? the blame was like a hot potato! know one wanted to touch it and it soon landed on the laps of the voiceless supporters! or so the authorities thought? they (the authorities) thought they were untouchable? and to blame the innocent was an easy and cowardly way out! from little accorns tall oaks grow! thats how the footballing family threw its support for the justice of the 96, there are now no shadows for these cowards to hide in and soon no doors to hide behind! in 1981 spurs played wolves in an f.a.cup semi/final at hillsboro, spurs were given the leppins lane end even though the spurs support far outnumbered that of their wolves counterparts! the spurs fans spilled onto the field of play and the game was haulted, the police were once again heavy handed before leading the fands around to the wolves end, that end with the wolves fans in it was only 3/4 full, had there been fencing around the pitch? with out question it would now be our fans seeking justice? we were lucky! the f.a and local authorities stated that an investigation was to be taken out...it never came! a letter at was sent to the then minister of sport mr hector monro, it voiced concerns of how the fans were treated! how fans were herded in an enclosure and how uncomfortable it became, even before kick off the stewards and police were pushing more and more fans into the enclosure and at 3 0'clock the situation was terrifying, women and children were being crushed!the gentleman that wrote the letter described himself as tall and able to take care of himself! even he thought his ribs were cracking, the investigation for this game never happened and the blame was passed around! we all hope now for justice? from day one we at tottenham have stood shoulder to shoulder with those in liverpool and we will continue to do so!

sirbillynick

i hope you find it your hearts ed to publish?

Thankyou sirbillynick

Thanks sirbillynick for bringing this out in the open. I had never heard of something similar happening at the same ground in 1981.
It just shows that the safety of spectators was of the least concern to those in authority, well before Hillsborough.
Heads should roll.

May of been already mentioned:

Jockey dedicates big win to the 96

Liverpool-born jockey Franny Norton notched up an emotional victory in the Weatherbys Insurance £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes on The Gold Cheongsam (11-4 favourite).

A day after the verdict which cleared Liverpool fans of blame regarding the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, Norton was close to tears.

Allotted just 8s 1lb, lightweight Norton enabled the Jeremy Noseda-trained filly to win for the third time on the spin by a neck from the fast-finishing Hajam.

"She had to battle real hard to get out of a pocket," said Norton.

"That victory isn't for me, it's for the Hillsborough 96 and to do it in red and white silks makes it special. Faster ground would have suited her better but she does everything right. I was screaming for the line at the end, though."

13 Sep 2012 15:45:25
I am gald for everyone at Liverpool that the truth has finaly come out and the people who were to blame will be held responsible. I remember when Leeds played the semi final there in 1987 and it was bad people complained to the police but they just shoved you and didnt care

13 Sep 2012 14:40:35
I would just like to say that the messages on here left by "rival" fans offering their support and well wishes are much appreciated, they are a credit to the team they support no matter which team that may be! We wear our clubs crest like a tribal symbol, but at times like these we can set aside our allegiances and support one an other as fellow fans of football, supporters of justice and show respect and compassion for each other!

El Diablo!

Who the hell disagrees with posts like this?

On my way to work yesterday I caught an interview with Bruce Grobbelaar on a sports satellite radio station. It was the first time I had heard a player who was there on that tragic day talk about it. Whatever your feelings may be on Bruce, I can tell you that his account is one of the most bone-chilling things I have ever heard. It made me cry. JFT96

23 years ago a horrific thing happened to Liverpool football club, it's family of supporters and the family of the 96 that had there lives taken away from them supporting our club. Those fans turned up to SUPPORT their team that day, a dark cloud has hung over our great club since that day.
Yesterday we finally saw a glimmer of light break the, the truth. We now need justice, it's no great surprise that we have not experienced the success once gifted upon us since that day. Maybe now as the truth be told and the souls of the departed can rest in peace, we can move on. Yesterday there souls returned to heaven and there an field in the sky, there souls looking down upon us all. Let's never forget but as supporters make them proud by following our team with the same passion they would have hoped for.

We may not have the players we once had but we need to support then all just the same, roll on saturday it's the beginning again

The sun has upset so many groups of people over the years it's suprising anybody still buys it.

Now "THE TRUTH" is finally out I am hoping the don't buy the sun campaign now goes national, it goes out of business and this country can start respecting each others differences instead of being force fed vile hate from these rags.
Judging by all the comments on these pages from all corners of the uk, our supporters, our rivals and others, it's clear to see a lot more people will be put off the sun from now on.

Football fans have all united over the last couple of days. Lets continue to respect each other and don't let the bigots and haters ruin our great country.

I hope one day soon we have a free press that only prints the facts and try not to ruin people's lives.

Yesterdays events where only one big rotten cherry on a massive cake of blunders, corruption and illegal activity from our papers and press in recent years.
Just when we thought hacking murdered school girls voicemails was bad, we get ileagal police payments and now this.

Editor should be blame more then news paper. few bad people make a news paper bad

Surely McEnzie should be subject to legal charges, notably attempting to pervert the course of justice. With great editorial power comes responsibility.I would like to see the Sun's owners suing him for lost revenue, as the journalist writing the story advised against calling the article "the truth". It will also be time this contemptible little man disappeared from our TV screens. {Ed002's Note - Whilst being a jerk and morally bankrupt he would certainly not face a charge of perverting the course of Justice.}

Good one ed002 morally bankrupt i like it

Unfortunately the only thing you can do to people like McKenzie and the owners of such papers, is to not buy them and direct others not too. If there is no demand for someone or even stronger, that they reduce sales, then they will be sacked or as a company, loose money. Sadly, money is our vote in this sphere. If no one buys those rags, they will cease to exist.

I will never forget the horror and shock my wife and I felt as we watched the tragedy of Hillsborough on TV.
We offered up prayers and shed many tears for the families of all affected and torn by those events.
We waited and waited for the wrong-doers to be identified and the lies to be exposed.
While the rest of us got on with our lives, the folk of Liverpool did not rest or give up their fight to achieve justice and honesty for their loved ones.
On the 12th Sept 2012 the Truth was finally told and a shiver went down my spine in realisation and condemnation of what this country can be capable of.
Justice for the 96 and punishment for the guilty.

INDIAN SCOUSER YNWA

I hope so, but if we all 'supported' the players through thick and thin, like we do the 96, that would be a great help too! If a player doesn't play well because he couldn't be bothered, that's different obviously!

Today, i broke a promise to myself i made 23 years ago and bought a copy of The S*n.
I needed to do so to read what they were reporting as to the fateful day that is in every L.F.C. supporters mind and has been every day since.
I still cannot get over the reporting of Hillsborough, it was disgusting and disgraceful.
I cannot accept the apology they have printed today.
I cannot believe that even though now they accept that what they wrote was not accurate in any way, they still try to shift the blame.
They say that MOST of there current staff was not around when there original report was printed, some not even born.
WHOEVER was there 23 years ago, it was The Sun that printed these disgraceful reports.
They blame a news agency for these reports and South Yorkshire police. THEY SHOULD BLAME THEMSELVES.
It was a complete dereliction of duty from a leading newspaper to print those lies without investigating the allegations.
Yesterday was a start by the establishment to right the wrongs that have been printed about our fans for the last 23 years.
The 96 will NEVER be forgotten.
Now we must continue the fight. Justice must be done for them.
The Hillsborough Report is only the start.
The rest is now down to us. The FULL truth must come out. Those involved in the cover up MUST be brought to justice.
Our fans, and the tragic 96 that lost there lives, have been smeared for the last 23 years.
23 years ago i made a promise to myself that i broke today.
I make another promise today, I WILL NEVER BUY A COPY OF THE S*N. And this time i will stick to it.
God bless the 96 and there friends and family.
God bless Liverpool Football Club.

Good article, although could you not have read a copy/the article without buying it?;) There are days when I have more venom for a certain person (KM) than I do for the paper, but I don't buy national papers of any kind and I won't start now either. The guy that actually wrote the article, could he have not been more forceful at the time when he saw what headline was going on it and do something more about it at the time? Even though KM has issued an apology, I'll never accept it, which is surprising for me, as usually I accept apologies!

I'll always remember the day, I was missing the match because i had to go out with the family. I was 8 years old. I remember walking past a TV and seeing the live panic, terror, fear and hoping, even at that age, that everyone gets out safely. For 96 people that wasn't the case and as we all knew, it could have been a lot more. The fans there that day have always been heroes of mine, more so than any player that's graced the pitch. If it wasn't for the heart and soul of the fans that were there that day we would be asking for Justice for 1000+. So whilst the 96 will always be remembered and I hope you finally find some peace now, I just wanted to say thank you again to the fans that put their lives on the line to rescue others who were stuck, dying, without hope. You are the people that make this club great and the people that had to live for years with the stigma by some mindless fools that you were in some way to blame, the important people knew the truth and I'm am so happy for you now that the truth is out.

Also, thanks to fans of all other teams for your warm messages. They mean a lot to a lot of people.

Over the years as a Liverpool fan I have had loads to be proud of, never so much as right now. The dignity shown by the families has been fantastic. I also feel that as a city we all never gave up pushing for the truth, I live in the midlands and find myself having to defend us all the time from people who believe the lies, and filth spread over the years, and from bigots who clear the desk when I walk in with 'jokes' about how the scouser will nick anything etc, well its time to eat their words, the most corrupt and evil people will be brought to task now and rightly so. We will never forget and we must never ever back down in the face of injustice, while YNWA is our anthem the words of the song something inside so strong are so appropriate at the min. Walk on

Arsenal fan in peace & respect.

I know many of arsenal fans have signed petitions, etc over the years and have always been behind the cause for justice. We knew is was a lot of b****cks.

This goes way beyond any football rivalry.

Not ONE person should die watching the game we all love, to think that 96 people did, is completely beyond me and the cover up's to follow is an absolute disgrace.

after a great year of sport for our country, these people ought to be ashamed to be known as our fellow countrymen.

I love my country and despite the fact we might take p*** etc sometimes I'm pround of all the regions of our country and have always admired the humour/banter/generosity and pride of the liverpool people.

My heart goes out to all the family and friends of the 96 and all those who were there that day.

May you all have peace.

I would like to thank all of those people who signed the e-petition that sparked the debate in parliament which then allowed Hillsborough to be put back into the nation's mind.
The families would have got justice one way or another but I for one feel proud that those people that signed the petition played a role in allowing this mass cover up to be shown to the world.
Just as I will never forget Hillsborough..... I will also never forget what happened yesterday.
Well done to the panel! God bless all the families.

I'm working nights in Lpool City Centre and just been round to St Georges Hall, 96 lanterns lit accross the steps, absolutely beautiful, really brings it home. The truth at last and now hopefully the justice that you all deserve. God Bless the 96! (Wavertree Blue)

I wasn't at the game that day, though a few mates were. I can still see people's reactions that day as I shopped in the city centre. Radio and TV reports were coming through and it was obvious something awful was happening. Just how awful only became apparent later that night as the death toll came through. Many years have passed, and though I now live on the other side of the world, I was once again transported back to the streets of my home town as I listened to radio reports of David Cameron's speech and the findings of the report. I don't have my scouse family around me now and am not there with you all, but I know I am not alone in my sadness and tears, as we are ... Liverpool Football Club.
The truth may be out for no-one to deny, but this is not full justice. This may be a time for some rejoicing, but laws have been broken, people still need to be held accountable.
I'm reminded of how special our club and it's people are when I consider the effect we have on "outsiders" who join us. Time after time we hear people talk of how they feel part of a family. I think this is best illustrated by Rafa's reaction at the memorial service. Still moves me every time I watch it.

thanks to all the football fans who have taken time out to post on these pages , no matter what team we support , we all love the same thing and have the one thing in common and that is football , after 23 years of hurt and pain the truth has come out , and the biggest answer to all the liars , should be that the 96 went to watch a football game and never came home , that is not a crime and today proved that .

ter Stegen.
Johnson. Skrtel. Agger. Enrique.
Sahin. Allen. Gerrard.
Suarez. Llorente. Sterling.

Before you say anything about Llorente being similar to Carroll; they are completely different players, just because they're both tall doesn't make them similar. Llorente is miles better technically, quicker, and can play abit too.
As for ter Stegen, Reina's not good enough anymore and if and when Milan come in he should be allowed to go. Signing ter Stegen get's us set for now and in the long term. Another goalkeeper that's excellent with his feet.

YNWA, so glad the truth's out.

Nothing to do with being too similiar, he simply won't be coming. Forget it.
