If FSG approach the transfer market in January the same as they approached it in the summer, we may lose our transfer targets to other EPL clubs.

Lets hope we don't see the GANGNAM STYLE approach again where we dance around aimlessly around for ages whilst other clubs push forward.

BR and Ian Ayre need to make it clear to FSG. Get in early and secure our targets. If we miss out, then we may not be able to improve our 8th place league position from last year.

I wonder if we will be alloted the 17 million pounds from Carroll's pending sale and if so, who could we buy for that amount???

Lee

15 Oct 2012 00:48:11
Gangnam Style would be to take up the reins and forceful surge forward as if riding a horse.... not aimlessly dancing.

Also we would be lassoing our targets like the cowboys of old.

Jolly Red

If. May. Same. Hope. May not. Be able. Could. Might.

Let's leave the crystal balls out of it, eh?

Ed's is there really going to be a spending spree in jan/summer or are the stadium plans going to go ahead? {Ed002's Note - Spending spree? Probably not - we have been thru those. Stadium yes.}

Hoping for an announcement of the stadium plans soon!

Hi eds, can you answer a question for me...

With lfc in desperate need of a striker, what are the possibilities of calling back Carroll back from his loan spell at west ham? {Ed002's Note - I think that unlikely.}

Since we desperately need goals, why would be call Carroll back? Isnt it obvious the guy struggles to score goals?

Boot room blarney-could liverpool build a stadium modelled on Anfield only twice the capacity.it would surely pay for itself, is this a possibility or would it cost far too much.

Rumour has it Anfield is being re-named webuyanyplayer.com

Now i like that! anfield looking the same way but in a larger scale with a modern touch.
im just glad to hear its anfield and not a new fancy dangle new stadium with a stupid name just for money idea. fsg must finally be listening to us fans. :-)

Fsg listened to the fans very often, that's what got us in the kenny-transfer-mess. major steps back.

Naming rights can still be possible for Anfield. It would fund the rebuilding & player investments can come from the owners.

Rodgers has made it clear that he wants to bolster his squad in January interesting is what happens if owners undermine him again. Will he except and continue or stand and fight. If you read is interview he indirectly blames the owners for our worst start

14 Oct 2012 22:53:19
Yep he even went on to say that we need to reinforce as soon as we can its interesting as we all know how difficult is in January but Rodgers thinks differently. What do you think ed2 as you have always sayed how difficult is to sign players in january window but here you have got manager who is desparate and saying he is confident to sign players which he wants and knows them already

14 Oct 2012 21:07:46
if we are going to get a striker get david villa natural goalscorer just what we need, also get a good winger
somebody technically gifted i think that we do not have a leader in our team especially in the defensive area someone like sami hyypia a great goalkeeper who can organise the defence wouldnt go a miss either

i think its time for someone to come into the team aswell to take gerrards place as i do now believe the guy is shatterd we would see the best of him if he would step down from the england team, and step down as the liverpool captain. use him more as a support player from the bench.

14 Oct 2012 22:02:05
I doubt liverpool could afford David villa wages. Forget players of that quality to arive at liverpool anytime soon as our owners can't afford we will be looking players

A) young/pontential who we can afford their transfer fee/wages

B)taking players on loan if we can afford to pay their wages eg Sahin

C) players who are running out of their contracts again if we can afford their wages

A lot of fans think about Llorente etc as he is running out of his contract but forget players of that quality demands decent wages. I doubt we are in position to pay decent wages at the same time compete with teams who can pay decent wages with ease

Simple as that eh? Why didn't Rogers think of that...just go and get David Villa. You sir are a footballing genius.

Liverpool should buy Pato in January..

He is too prone to injuries.
Would demand a high pay!

Dear Luis Suarez, a man dived 24 miles from the edge of space to earth and still stayed on his feet.

DB-Red

I like this!

Is that you fergie

Joke makes no sense

How could he keep on his feet while falling 24 miles?
Ben Terug

Law of science causes him to land on his feet. His falling head first at 650+mph due to gravity and only air resistance acting towards him. Once he opens his parachute up thrust acts upon him and the parachute meaning gravity has less pull on him and he slows down. The parachute is on his back so as soon as it shoots up he returns to his normal horizontal state, and safely land on his feet. Laws of science.

I think this 'joke' would be funnier and more relevant if it was aimed at Ashley 'where's that sniper' Young

You gimps would think that wouldn't you. Suarez dives every week, won't be long before he's out the Prem though don't worry. As for laws of science chimp, home many skydivers do you see that don't land on their feet? Lots, exactly. I got my wings when I was a Royal Marine and unless you've done it, I wouldn't comment. {Ed063's Note - My problem is that you said "a man dived and landed on his feet" the whole intention of diving in football is to go down so it doesnt make a lot of sense. But yes Suarez dives}

Right, so the owners dropped a bollock in the summer transfer market, BIG STYLE.
The January transfer window is The Ideal time for them to correct this mistake, and prove that it was a one off and they have learned.
Musts !!
1. Move quickly to secure t targets (at the right price obv.)
2. Move quietly, leaks from within the club have proved extremely costly on several occasions.
3. Move CORRECTLY for players, TBH the whole dempseygate affair was EMBARRASING to me.
4. Be IN PLACE, or have person with acceptable power IN PLACE to secure the deals .

I know there are difficulties, the major 1 being when our name is linked with a player we are quoted higher prices than , lets say everton, as with Jelavic ! Or a wigan or a newcastle , who to be fair have much less transitional squads as our own is in right now.

But thats the.price we pay FOR OUR GLORIOUS HISTORY .

Open letter to the owners !
(no big words, no fancy quotes, just 3 words)

GET IT RIGHT !

14 Oct 2012 21:19:56
Bang on, prove you have learnt!

Only read half way through the second line...no need to read further. January Transfer is not the ideal time to do anything other than sell a player for way over the odds. Certainly not a time to 'correct mistakes'...More like overpay because the selling club doesn't want to lose a player mid season!

Unless that player is on the last year of his contract. Then it would be possible to get the player for a much lower value. I.e Walcott, lloriente and I think quesrma? From the players we have been linked with.

Why do people always add 'gate' to a scandal? At least Watergate was a place. Dempseygate???

Were in my quote did I say it was an ideal time for transfers ?... I said it was an ideal time for the owners to redeem themselves from the summer farce. The facts are because of their dallyings, we are left with the bare minimum squad, something that will need to be addressed at the earlist opportunity. January. !
Maybe you should have read further and thought about what was writen !

title winners of 2013 2014 Reina johnson agger skrtel cissokho lucas moutinho gerrard suarez gomez gameiro

Dream on, maybe in 2015/16

Another season in fifa?

Possible that team could win the title, shame we'll never see it

Chris in Tamworth

Bankrupt by 2015 with an aging team.
this could be more like it:
.............Reina
kelly coates agger lb?
.........lucus...sahin
..............suso
suarez.....damioa....sterling

plus with alot of quality on the bench including allen gerrard assaidi skrtel johnson who could start on another day.

We will hopefully have a few more kids that will have come through by then like sama wisdom ibe.....

2016? Gerrard will be 36. Bit past it!

Why do people seem to think that the rest off us wants to read their fifa13 achievements?

14 Oct 2012 19:17:12
Is Shane Long an option in january? quite an underrated player and he is relatively young and i would say not overly expensive. a great player and has been very good for west brom. any chance?

He is a defenders nightmare, he's a bloody pest and very good at what he does. Biggest problem would be why would West Brom sell him?

14 Oct 2012 22:04:37
The question is not why would Westbrom sell him, it's more like why would he leave Westbrom for Loserpool...

15 Oct 2012 00:26:26
I'm Irish and not a fan of Long. He has pace and strength, but he's never struck me as particularly skillful or intelligent.

Kevin Doyle has more nous about him, but I doubt I'll convince people that his poor scoring record at Wolves wasn't his fault.

watched el classico last sunday. two different styles one tiki taka the other more suited to epl . have to say thought real madrid the more dangerous side .

Watched it to my friend both teams played well but i thought barca could have played another 90 min were as real looked tired at the end

gee man

14 Oct 2012 18:11:38
I live in Scotland and see a lot of the SPL .

from watching it I felt Liverpool would take about 10 off hearts over the 2 games as hearts are pretty average.

to see Liverpool struggle because they find it tough to score was amazing.

Gary Hooper has out scored Jelavic and andy carroll in respective leagues, when up against them , scores them all in the box and is the right age.

a no brainer and Will cost less than Borini .

get him before someone else does ! !

Elderslie Red

As a Scouset and a Red living part time in the West End too I hope we get him. Bhoy knows where the onion bag is.

hi eds with it looking like the stadium is going to get redeveloped any idea how much the capacity is going to increase by and timescale for the project been finished.ray {Ed002's Note - No idea about the timescale but I would expect the upper limited to be 60k.}

The plan is 50,000 seats plus 10.000 corporate seats.

Thats 10,000 seats that will remain mostly empty then.

14 Oct 2012 17:34:23
Not saying we would go for any of these but there is options out their fora January signing of a striker.

F. Llorente. By January he will be in the last 6 months of his contract and able to sign a pre contract agreement.

K. Jan-Huntelaar. Again another striker in the last 6 months of his contract and can sign a pre contract agreement.

L. Barrios. Currently in China, but could leave due to contractual disputes.

M. Zarate. I think Zarate is currently on loan, but if not or depending on length on loan deal would be sold if an acceptable offer was received. May not cost too much either.

C. Tello. Not sure if he has ended up signing a new deal as yet, but if not his contract also runs out this summer.

D. Ba. Apparently can leave for as little as 7 million, but fitness issues. May fail a medical and we may be put off by this.

D. Bent. Doesn't seem to want to be at Villa anymore and may be sold. I think the fee maybe too high for Bent so doubt any deal will happen.

D. Sturridge. May well leave in January, but again fee may be a struggling point depending on what Chelsea's valuation is.

T. Walcott. Another player who will have 6 months left on his deal by January, could be a possibility of us signing. In my opinion more likely than Sturridge.

We also still have youngsters like Yesil, Ngoo and Ibe who could also break through this season. So all an all there are some quality strikers out there with reasonable price tags to them.

Jonesred

If i could get any of the above id go for..

Hunterlaar & Barrios as they would be under £10m each and get us the goals we need to get back in the champions league.

Hey eds had nothing to post lately is there any truth about the interest in CB granqvist? he plays in italy cheers CRAIG {Ed023's Note - We have apparent interest. We are looking at cover for CB so it wouldn't be impossible}

14 Oct 2012 17:05:23
I know it's mid October and January seems like a long way off, so making these sort of judgements now may seem more out of hope than the real deal. But this is what I can see happening in January.

Out: downing (£6mill), cole (short loan), Wilson ( short loan), doni (£500,000).
Total funds at this point will be: around £10.5mill.

In: dries mertens (£12mill-looks more realistic than the other wingers we have been linked with. Gary hooper (£8mill- I think if lfc approached in jan we would easily be able to get him).

Net spent: around £9.5mill (owners will fund money that is needed)

Team A (EPL)

---------------reina---------------

Johnson--agger--skrtel--Enrique

-----------Allen----Lucas---------
--------------gerrard-------------

Suarez------hooper-----mertens

Sub:jones, Coates, wisdom, Sahin, shelevy, sterling, assaidi

Team B (Europa league, domestic cups)

-------------------jones------------------
Wisdom--Coates--carragher--Robinson

-----------shelvey-----Henderson-------
--------------------suso------------------

Sterling-----------borini----------assaidi

Sub: gulasci, Johnson,skrtel, Sahin, Allen, Pacheco, yesil.

Injuries: Kelly {Ed023's Note - Sahin doesn't start in either team? With Gerrard's recent form I would replace him with Sahin in your 1st eleven}

Mertens wont be going anywhere in January! also did hear that he favoured a move to spurs?

At last! Someone with sense re gerrards form. Here here well said Ed023. I'm convinced we are a better "team" without mr hollywood pass.

Jimbob

I was going to put Sahin instead of gerrard in the first team but tactically we would benefit from having Sahin available for both EPL and Europa league matches whereas gerrard is pretty limited in terms of game time. I wasn't to sure on mertens myself either because he clearly intends on staying with psv this season but I think if we offered enough (£12mill there abouts) psv would accept and we can offer a more lucrative contract. Unlikely but he's more likely than the other wingers were currently linked with. In terms of Gary hooper I think we could definitely get him if we show enough interest.

14 Oct 2012 16:34:56
Brendans style-very easy on eye. However offensively still aint getting men in box-quick enough.And il'd suggest because their coming from wide or midfield.But worst part is defensively- we play too high now,and having 3 uptop(or one with two behind)leaves midfield too high, too short of cover, therefore too exposedv to the counter out wide or ball over the top.Its ok (no disrespect v Norwich) but better teams weve outplayed and looked good against, have exposed this time and again. We need 4 in middle or Lucas protecting infront've back 4 (but sadly think Lucas may be finished now,as players with his injury get compensatory injuries)

Thats brilliant!

All you have to now is get your coaching badges, work as a coach for 5-8 years, take a lower level management job, be successful there, and wait for a top team to hire you and you can implement your brillian tactical plan. Simples.

I personally think we were missing Shelvey, even BR said he is a goal scoring midfielder on being Liverpool!
Think this will get mixed opinions!
Redmanluka

14 Oct 2012 13:33:57
Ed we brought in some young strikers, and it appears we also wanted an experienced one (Dempsey) in my opinion to fill a gap whilst the youngsters develop.
Do you still think we will be in a similar place in January where we look to someone towards the end of their career or a loan signing, or do you think the clear lack of goals, Borrini's injury will mean we will go for a longer term option?
Have to say I find it a bit strange that BR had no alternatives to Dempsey, especially as it looked early on that there was going to be problems. {Ed001's Note - he did have alternatives, hence the attempt to get Sturridge. I very much doubt much will be done in January, I think, as things stand, a loan move might well be the avenue pursued.}

Sturridge is like Walcott they both want to be playing as the main striker, but i don;t see either as a no.9

BigD

15 Oct 2012 09:37:37
Sturridge is a No. 9. He proved this when given the chance @ Bolton. At the Olympics, he played a few minutes ill and scored some good goals while leading attack. At Chelsea, he isn't happy playing from the wings, hence the 'selfishness', but he's proven too, recently, that he can pass the ball and have a big impact in games. To me, he's the most underrated player in the EPL. Rather sign Sturridge and give him a chance to prove his talent...

14 Oct 2012 13:03:47
I think that the main positive thing about the Hooper rumours is the fact that we have a good chance to get him.All the usual rubbish about villa ,Llorente etc seems to be based in fantasy.
Hi Eds good work as usual

Hooper is ready for a crack at the Prem.He is no where near the finished article but importantly he does know where the goal is.I believe that he would improve the squad ( as almost any striker would unfortunately!)

I think he knows he would play ,and we are probably the only option that could give him the main striker role.

I hope we take a gamble on Hooper he could be a gem .I personally can't take watching another half a season cursing the fact that Ian Ayre couldn't bring a stiker in.

Imagine how many more points we might have had if we had even an average box player up front?

Eds just wondering how much Hooper would cost if he decided to leave in the Jan window.?

Cheers

Kobi {Ed052's Note - Not sure, but perhaps a max of £10 m?}

I think we should take a crack at Hooper. Jelavic is nt doing to badly at Everton, is he?
8 million max i would pay though.
Indian Buzzer {Ed001's Note - different types of players, Hooper is less technically able, lazier and would be a much bigger risk, even if he wasn't likely to cost more and demand higher wages.}

Hooper £10

Ba £7m

Yilmaz £13m

Llorente £15m - out of contract in the summer.

Who should we go for ?

BigD

Out of them 4 BigD, I'd go

Llorente - Yilmaz - Hooper - Ba

I´d deffo get hooper for 10 quid =)

I would go for Ba his cheaper and proven goalscorer in prem, Senegal haven't qualified for African nations cup. You will get hickheads moaning that too ripped us off with donkey Carroll and that Ba has no knees. redevon

To be fair redevon, Ba's knees are knackered and you can guarantee if we signed him, he would get injured. Can't afford to take a chance on him IMO.

ed...great work and excellent site..

One ques to you..
can you tell me how many years took rome to get actually build?

we are in 4th season..

how much more years do we actually have for this excuse?

reply must..and plss

Well we just got a new manager which means weve take a couple of steps back IMO

Well where rebuilding since 90 cause we aint won no title since then"which i believe a certain Mr shankly used to say was the bread and butter of this club,rd

We might be in our 4th season but we have changed managers from benitez to hodgson to dalglish to Rodgers.....we need stability first and foremost, then we can start building from there, so unfortunately it might be another two or three seasons until we get to where we want to be....... Just treat this season as the first step in getting the club to run in the right direction......and most of all be patient coz I believe we have the right owners and the best young up and coming manager, but there will be set backs along the way, more so in his this first season, just don't expect to much to soon pal

Took fergie 7 seasons win anything. If you don't like this ' excuse '. The is a club that play in the Etihad stadium that night interest you if our current situationis not good enough for you.

hey eds i was just wondering how much all the stadium work that has gone on since 2001 has actually cost the club i remember reading that designs when hicks an gillet were in charge were about 50 million. would you have any idea how much all in all it has cost us.

thanks belfast red adam {Ed002's Note - Sorry Adam, I don't know.}

No prob cheers ed002

14 Oct 2012 11:54:20
eds, if we decide to redevelope anfield, does it mean we won't playing at anfield next season? where would we play? {Ed002's Note -Liverpool will continue to play at Anfield. The work would be done over a period of time with much done during the close season. It would be possible that parts of the ground could be closed during the season.}

We will do what Wolves done close 1 stand while the work is ongoing, for any of you who ain't seen the new wolves stand its really nice bit like the Kop.

This tiki tippy-tappy taka is a waiting-disaster and should be canned in its bumpy tracks.
Unless you actually either Catalan or its poor version (Arsenal), it's a non-starter.

Don't get me started on this "passing/possession/dominance" stats.
In which parts of the pitch is this "possession/dominance" retained and exerted?
This endless "passing", how much of it happens in the (opponent's) dangerous areas?
What's the stats for incisive passes?

What I've seen us do is pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, back and forths and sideways in our own 1st and 2nd thirds.
Opposition's all too keen to stand off and watch us tippy-tappy and dilly-dally to nowhere very fast.

Sooner we enter the last 3rd, they charge us down, steal it and break quickly and BOOM! goal.
Lost count of ow many goals we've conceded like this.
It really is the easiest system to both defend and score against.

It's no coincidence that we haven't kept a clean sheet this bar against a holidaying Stoke City entirely camped in their 18.
We look frightnengly vulnerable to conceding whenever the opponent break with the slighest amount of quality.

It also doesn't help the situation at all having seasoned pros making schoolboy errors and your captain consistently giving the ball away recklessly.

I keep hearing "it's only a matter of time before we start flying". "bad luck", "woodwork", same old, same old!
Rafa's last season "it's only a matter of time before we start flying", we finished 7th.
Last season under KD "it's only a matter of time before we start flying", we finished 8th.
We hearing the same old record again this season and watch us finish 10th.

As for woodwork, don't see the point here.
A shot is either ON, or OFF, target.
The woodwork ain't the target, so a shot hitting the woodwork is a shot OFF.
So why the fuss about balls hitting the post/bar? Is that supposed to be some sort of consolation? It's still bloody OFF target.
So stop harping on about how we "lead the stats" in hitting the bar as though there's any good in it.

roshi red 4 life red till dead

You certainly don't sound like a Red 4 Life, more like a bluenose expecting a response.

Rome was not built in a day come april i expect you will be suprised i see no teams that are a total stand out side over the past 3 seasons enjoy the journey

Borussia dortmund murdered man city and their possession was 39 per cent . poster spot on you wont score any in ye own half. im afraid DUCK RODGERS is a dud.

Oh dear. Has Bosco got a new name?

cozinoz

Wow because swansea adapted those possession tactics and now they're a mid table premiership team from the championship, you can even go back to the start with martinez and sousa (spelling) when they were league 1 i think. If you ask me them tactics have pay'd dividends.

Most of us can see green shoots starting to sprout and im really looking forward to the journey that this young team takes me on it has potential in abundance and if you cant see that then youve either no football brain or your blind.

Can't win with some people, not too long ago we had Roy 10 men behind the ball Hodgson as manager and people were complaining about the negative football and saying "its not the Liverpool way". Anyone remember the home defeats to Blackpool and Wolves during his reign coz I do and they were the worst performances I have ever seen from a Liverpool team at Anfield.
Now we have Rodgers who wants to play attacking, expansive football and people aren't giving him a chance.
Its not easy to implement a system were we play great football and win matches at the same time, give BR time. He will get it right but he needs patience, support and more funding from the owners.

Its easy to criticize any team, but all the posters with these negative view never seem to provide a solution other than spending money, so your views are noted you have the right to have your say, but its really pointless at the end of the day I'll continue to be positive coz that's my right. LFC TID Leem

I've been a Liverpool fan for 15 years, the football we're playing under BR is by far the best i've ever seen us play.

Our only problem is we don't have a goal scorer, I'm sure BR will fix this problem soon.

Hey

Ed0052, I was reading you're profiles on wisdom and Ajordan and was sceptical as to their accuracy. Every Liverpool player you write about you praise them and say that theyre going to be amazing. Is this a true reflection or are you simply being bias. I obviously hope that they are true but would just like to check!

J {Ed052's Note - Hia mate. Well, I do try and be as fair as possible, and try and give an honest opinion as possible. Perhaps I have my red tinited glasses on a little bit too much, but so far I have only profiled Liverpools top talents, thus why they are all ''going to be superstars''. Once I start profiling lesser players, UI will be harsher, and you will find out I dont think everybody will succeed! However,. there are a crop of about 8 youngsters I would say who could all make it.}

Thanks man appreciate it!

Hi edoo52 just read this post,i think it be good idea if you just stuck with the lads you think are going to be good and make it, and maybe dont profile the lesser ones as you say,no doubt it be a hard enough pill from them to swallow when there told there not going to reach the top,maybe with out having to read about it on your profile pages.these young lads have enough pressure on them without maybe adding more,thats just my thoughts on it and i have nothing against your profile pages i look at them regular and i do like them.ty ray {Ed001's Note - I don't think they are likely to read or care what is on those pages.}

I think we all need to moderate our expectations for the Jan transfer window. I understand that FSG do want to appease the manager, given the lack of forwards but finances will always take priority - and that means consideration to wages and bonus clauses not just the size of the transfer fee.

This is all sensible and one LFC fans should agree with.

I would expect any signings to be much reduced in terms of profile and expense.

Just look at the disagress not one can comtemplete the mess were in

Heavenly angel

I have reservations about the January window as well, think the owners will have the Andy Carroll disaster in the back of their mind. I predict a similar Dempsey situation coming on, the owners will set a limit for ech target identified and if they cant get them for that price then we will work with what we have got.
Makes sense financially but wont appease the clueless fans who are calling for a complete overhall of the squad, manager and owners.

Hello to all Eds and all LFC fans,
I`ve been a Liverpool fan for 25 years and a Pole for all my life. I remember last title won and Arsenal defeat in 1989. Please do not buy Lewandowski! He`s been good last season but I think he is not good enough to play at Anfield.

Is this cos u reckon man united are gonna sign him?

To be honest I agree with the original post he is a bit overrated.

I have a polish mate who says the same thing. Do we overate him here?

We will mainly focus on adding attacking players in January.

in
Mertens - £12m
Walcott - £6.5m
Diego Lugano - £3.5m

£22m spent on players.

out
Downing - £7m (most mid table teams)
Cole - £1m Loan with option to buy if they stay in the Prem (QPR)
Wilson - loan

£14m net spending

I doubt that Allen will ever be left out of the midfield {Ed063's Note - That is because Allen is amazing. Ed052 orgasms over how good he is - seriously. I worry about him sometimes *shakes head*}

What Liverpool need is 1 world class striker and maby and expirianced full back nothing more. As far as Enrique goes he is simple not good enough. Allan and Shelvey will be our midfield for years to come.

hi all.

Seems Charlie Austin is being linked with premiership teams now. i use to steward at Swindon town fc. i mentioned him to the ed's before he went to Burnley.

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is of him now. i think the lad has talent and could be a cheap buy. he certainly knows how to find the net.

Cheers.
J.Hunt. (was .J.Canada)

I also saw him at Swindon.
But he is still learning his trade, he came to Swindon from non league Poole Town.
I think it would be a step to far at the moment for him.
I think Yesil is probably better than him at this stage of his career.

Phooey {Ed002's Note - Burnley's Charlie Austin is being considered by Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Celtic. I suspect someone will take a chance on him.}

Hi Ed002.
Thats quite interesting that those clubs are looking at him, considering that all of them could possibly lose there main strikers, ie Ba,Bent and Hooper.
Would they be looking at Austin to be a direct replacement?
And what sort of fee would Burnley be looking for? 10m?

Cheers
Phooey {Ed002's Note - Burnley would hold out for as much as they can get and the more clubs interested in the player the better chance there would be of getting a fee approaching double figures. I suspect that you are right and all are looking at him as a potential replacement for potentially departing players.}

Andy Carroll loaned to west ham back in August. We are now in mid October and he has scored all of 0 goals for West Ham! He wasn't the solution and never will be.

I would still prefer him in the squad. He would be useful for us right now in our situation.

He has only played one and a half games he got a asisst with near his first touch for west ham

Dumb post - he was injured

This guy obviosly knows jack rubbish about football

Haha "jack rubbish". Love it.

A lot said the same about S. Fletcher... I would have bought him instead of trying for Dempsey.

What an idiot!!

I find it hard to believe that people are questioning Gerard's ability or as captain he is world class and will be a positive this season .KJ

He doesn't get in the referees' ear often enough.

Gerrard is a shadow of the player he was and shouldn't be an auto choice anymore.

Roy Evans and Thommo on 'City Sport'today agreed with call/texter LFc been badly run for a long time and still so. And the last few 'window'decisions bare that out.The O.T.T we paid for previous failures. Then the stripping down of team to no cover for Borini after Dempsey and Carrol debacle.Now whatever we all think you have to respect those two men not just for previous positions held but for their experience and knowledge of game and club. Evans said LFC are all over the place, and nobody appears to know who is running what at club.Thats obvious from all the decisions and mis information/cock ups for ages. When i said what Evans said about needing and missing likes of Robinson and Smith that particular Ed tried to shoot suggestion down. Fact is you have to be run well from very top and it filters down, in any walk of life. And does'nt matter what manager is in charge. their hamstrung by cock ups. B.R was left out to dry over Dempsey hence talk of changed policy and a 'Transfer Committee'being put in place. Sorry but Fenway saved us and eternally grateful. But were a rudderless ship under Captain Ayre-out've his depth. We have a young crew cabable of good days. But the manager cant plot clear course to victory island with changing course by Captain Ayre, c/o commandants Henry and Werner-sorry they aint got a scooby.And were sailing near rocks. Climb aboard dein or any other fooker that knows what their doing. Makes you wonder at times if Ayre well meaning but out've his depth-yes man-should've walked the plank, rather than others who have left. WE HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT AT TOP. AND it AINT! {Ed001's Note - what ed tried to shoot you down? As far as I am aware, all the eds are pretty much agreed that Ayre is an extremely weak link, to the point of being a liability and shows a complete lack of any kind of leadership.}

Good point
