It's nice to see all is calm at the minute and that we are not in the news for any reason, good or bad. I have no doubt everyone at the club will have had a steep learning curve over the past few months, players, management and importantly PR department. If we as a club have learnt from the circumstances over the evra affair then we will be better for it.

Hopefully now we can get back to what we want to see the reds playing pass and move football again and more importantly, them the palyers enjoying the game. I have said on a few occasions that we look a far better side when we play the game at a high tempo and press teams further up the pitch. I really hope KK and his backroom team see this and let the reigns loose a little. I would also like to see us go with 3 up front at home from now till the end of the season, Andy, Luis and Craig, as I think the 3 combined would scare teams from the off.

The back five pick itself, although if GJ puts in any more performances (defensively) like Saturday then I would swap him for Kelly.

The midfield is the key area but also the most difficult to pick, Stevie, has to play, but not every game (I personally think he is still recovering rather than 100%). So who plays with him, at home I would put C Adam and Spearing in.

Away from home I would drop Craig back to the left then introduce Dowing, Kuyt or Henderson on the right. This is were it's difficult for me, as I said I think Stevie is still recovering so the midfield 4 could be without him, depending who we play(?). Spearing covers a lot of ground and does the job no one else really wants to, so he is a given until Lucas returns.

C Adam, not quick enough for me but then the question who will/can spot a pass if both Stevie and Adam don't play? This is the issue for me, either/or have to play when we are away from home, but not both. Then again I'm not the boss and I don't have to decide! keep the faith fellow reds, it's going to be an exciting run in for us redmen! - TMac

Good post. what to think of Hendo in the Middle?

Dara D

The main problem is not the personnel, but the tactics, and the fact that some of the players appear to have lost all confidence in their ability.

I brought this up last week. Personally I think it should be (from the left) Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Gerrard and we should be relying on attacking full backs for width. As soon as Lucas ius fit he takes Spearing's place. That gives two quality midfield subs - Spearing & Shelvey.

Hi ed,
do ye think that maybe a few of the likes of sterling, coady, suso etc wil get a run out against Brighton?
thanks

This "news" about Suarez handing in a transfer request I think is BS. Even if it was true, the window is closed anyway apart from in Russia and I don't think he'd want to move there. Either way he's staying to the end of the season at least.

Hans

Hi Ed's, Just read in the Mirror that Phil Morris of the Manchester FA has been suspended after being found guilty of using racially aggrvated language at the United training ground, Perhaps this is why Ferie caused a stink on the Surez affair to divert attention from this.....Bobbinred {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Ferguson or the club.}

Yes but the point I was trying to make was that you don't see Fergie or United jumping up and down about this, after all it happened on United's training ground

Bobbinred

The obsession with Man United never ceases to amaze me.

Our coaching staff also appear to be afflicted with this Fergie/United obsession, and unable to think straight. They have gotten under our skins good and proper.

The reason it has suddenly gone quiet is because United were also starting ti get damaged due to Evra's post-match antics. United and Liverpool as a result have taken a joint stance and basically told the press to pack it in or neither of them will talk to them anymore. The press no that this is no joke as Ferguson wouldn't talk to the BBC for years. RED LENIN.

I suspect Evra will be shipped out as soon as season is over. It's that ruthlessness that keeps United on top. We used to be that way - we aren't any more.

I think the FA could do worse than get rid of that absolutely hopeless Gordon Taylor

I'm sure the FA are delighted with the Muppets they have on board -
"Yes Men" who do what they're told when they're told regardless of collateral damage

He's a union leader and nothing to do with the FA. He get his money for union out of sky deal. Which Red Nev nearly had the footballers out on strike for a couple of years ago
lyndon

Personally I can't stand Gordon Taylor but he's nothing to do with the FA

Gooner on here few days ago slagging merits of our side.Emmm concentrate on yourselves me thinks! lol lol

You make a good point - we have enough issues of our own.

However, it's still fun to laugh at Arsenal being embarrased, given that their fans are probably the most arrogant in the league.

Second to Spurs in arrogance (although I'm sure Arsenal would demand that they are first)

Milan 4 gooners 0

Been really disappointed with Stewart Downing's performances this season. Waste of good money. He will have no re-sale value. Put it this way, we will never get back the money we paid for him. At least with Carroll he's only 23 and with good performances and goals his value can only rise. Can't say the same about Downing, he is an average player at best who had 1 good season at Aston Villa.

OK, he lacks confidence I guess, but 0 goals an 0 assists in the premiership tells the story.

If he doesn't improve, I think we should get shot of him whatever we can get for him. Can't cross, passes backwards all the time, keeps cutting in when he is supposed to run to the byline and cross.

He is not LFC quality, and certainly not for 20m quid!

KK please buy quality continental this summer, please do not buy more english overpriced dross!

More dross on the way

More dross on the way? Will he be posting again?

MIKEY

Unfortunately, Downing has so far reminded me of Robbie Keane - big price tag, cant cut it at a club bigger than Villa despite his obvious talent. Cmon Stewart, prove me wrong.

I thought we would be a lot better this year in attack an maybe not be as good as we have been in defence.
But the defenders have all been at the club a while bar Enrique who really hit the ground running.
But our strikers last year where torres, kuyt, babbel and ngog. It's now Carroll, Suarez, kuyt and Bellamy. A massive change. Plus a similar amount of distruption in midfield. Especially with the injurys to Lucas and gerrard.
So it's no real surprise really that we are not scoring goals and the fact we have been so poor in the final third. Yet so solid at the back.
I think we need to see the bigger picture and be patient with our players because we all know how good the likes of downing and Carroll are when settled. It's not just a case of waiting for one or two players to settle, that can take up to a year in itself, but most of the whole midfield and attackers need to settle and that could be even longer.
I have noticed we are improving as the season goes on but we are still a million miles away from the full potential of our players and team.

Hi ed's just a bit of info regarding are boys in the nextgen series: liverpool will host the first NextGen Series semi-final against Ajax at Anfield on March 14 (7pm), with Inter Milan facing Marseille in the other semi-final at Brentford's Griffin Park on March 21.

Liverpool were beaten by Tottenham in the quarter-finals but were reinstated after the London club fielded an ineligible player.

The final will be at Selhurst Park on March 25.

Just like to wish them GOOD LUCK! Y..N..W..A- Thanks ed's DHH L20 Kopite!

Apart from the fact that is copied it is a shame to see that an LFC fan admits to reading the Daily Mail. You'd be far better sticking to the Lady Male!!!

Anybody watching the arsenal vs ac milan game? If anyones taking any notice u will see that if you put pressure on arsenals defence they will crumble. Hope kenny realises this n doesnt sit back against them like we did against united but im sure the king will be fully aware of that!

Just thought I'd praise Martin Skrtel as he's been superb this season and has improved no end. Him and Agger are becoming a great central defense partnership and we no longer have to worry about what will happen when Carra retires. He really hasn't got the credit he deserves IMO and he is the perfect player for Agger to play alongside. Also with Carra, Coates, Kelly, Wisdom and Sama as back up or coming through we really our going to have a strong defense for years to come. Remember reds lets think positive!
JFT96
Smithy

Couldn't Agree more. He is also a hard -ass. I loved the way he was essentially Suarez's personal bodyguard when the boys left the pitch against the Mancs.

Top player and top teammate.

LIVERPRES

First time since Hyppia that we've had a decent partnership at the back. Just need a good partnership upfront imo.
kidmillions

I would give praise to Agger and Enrique also. Agger has become a real leader of the back line and is great at playing the ball out from the back. Enrique has been so consistent and brilliant that I can't heap enough praise on him he combines his pace with great strength and power that is incredible how he hasn't got a cap for Spain is beyond me. For many years the left hand side has been vulnerable but definitely not any more.
N.I Red

I think if we have a right back exactly like Enrique, we'd have the perfect back-4.

Kaizer

@Kaizer, What about kelly. He is perfect in opinion.

Have you heard anything about this? Raheem Sterling, Conor Coady and Andre Wisdom all in the pre-match squad to the Brighton match? Check this picture, maybe Sterling can get his debut? Would be great, seems like a great talent!

www.fmfile.com/opplastninger/1329333373.png

Cheers

I was thinking about Coady starting myself, would be good next to Henderson, with Shelvey in front. I think Carroll will play, as will Downing and possibly Bellany. Strong bench with Gerrard, Suarez etc

Papa G

To much of a banana skin to play the kid's!

Rooney, strength of a 30 year old at 18. Mike Tyson, strength of a 30 year old at 18. Many top sportsmen possess this trait and it gives them the right platform to succeed in sport. With this in mind why didn't we make more of an effort to sign oxlade chamberlain.

Ozone

He was always going to go to Arsenal... His Dad felt it would be the best place for him to continue his development

RedSG

Because he wanted to play for arsenal.

MIKEY

He only wanted to arsenal made it quite obvious where he would end up

He only wanted to go arsenal mate
red raj

We did make an effort, he chose to go to Arsenal, simple as that.

Im pretty sure chamberlain moved to arsenal only to get more game time. he will defo move to a bigger club in a couple of seasons. After all, arsenal r a football factory, not a football club r they?

Awww...... Just read about evra being rested due to his"emotional week" Just knew he was a woman - it was his time of the month. i think the real reason he has been rested is his legs are tired after skipping around like louis spence. come on ajax do us all a favour and get Man Utd off c5
stu

Louis Spence! Lmao.

Nothing at all to do with louis spence, alex ferguson has gone and seen the situation and decided to pull evra out. the backlash that evra was likely to get at ajax was probably worse than he recieved at anfield. luis suarez is held in the kind of regard at ajax that most players can only ever dream about in their career. he would of been absolutely crucified every time he touched the ball and ferguson has protected him from this. i'm gutted!

s.p

Agreed SP, Luis Suarez has a massive following in Holland and Uruguay. Whilst he's controversial, I hope we keep him. He's one of those players who get lost in the moment but outside of the game he's a saint.

15 Feb 2012 20:45:54
Watching the AC Milan game and Andy can learn a thing or two from Zlatan about how to use your size and strength to your advantage. He's done well lately Andy but Zlatan is the type of player I hope he can evolve into and then he'll be well worth that £35 000 000.
Capetownred

Could just be that the gooners are a poor lot defensively.
kidmillions

At the moment, Andy is more Sean Dundee than Zlatan. But hey, stranger things have happened . . .

Crocodile Dundee !!

Phooey

I agree with Capetownred, he has got some skill he's shown and his first touch has improved drastically. He can also pass now so give it two years and he'll be the perfect footballer. Hope he starts against Brighton as I can see him scoring quite a few

Would love to see Kenny groom Gareth Southgate. Gareth is a prince of the game but Kenny could mould him and work on him and turn him into our future King. Southgate speaks with such authority and while he is the consumate pundit I feel he deserves a crack at a big one and LFC would give it to him. Hope this great English man gets back on the game and I could see him in a few years take us down the tunnell.

Zlatan

He's terrible don't let him near us.

Realistic red

I can only assume this is a windup or you need to be sectioned - this talentless twit is the FA Head of Elite Development (Youth) - I doubt he can even manage that - but it will keep him off the streets

Blimey, think I'd rather Gareth Gates be our next manager than Gareth Southgate.

JRG

I laugh at people don't get sarcasm on this site, but I think you're actually being serious? Really? Southgate? Wow. Best get in there quick before Real Madrid get him to succeed Jose. Nick.

Take us down the tunnell
what tunnell - the Mersey Tunnell? sorry this is the daftest post I've seen in a long, long time.

Sent long reply to Rangers fan-like to see it posted,ta Ed {Ed002's Note - We cannot post it as it contained potentially libelous statements.}

Sorry re the libelous, not totally sure what part though

I hope the revenue nail them and then start on the premier league. Rangers fans moaning that it could be the end of an institution! What about the health, education, police, fire service and public service institutions. What about the victims of austerity because of holes in the public purse. Rangers knew the tax bill was on the horizon and should've set the sum to one side for worst case senario. To add insult to injury it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the players have preferential creditor terms in their contract placing them before the revenue should the club go into liquidation.

With this in mind you have to admire FSG for refusing to pay wages that don't sit proportionally with revenues.

Ozone

DO NOT say "ta", it is chavvy, slang and certainly not proper english.

"Baz."

Mmm but to be fair we so nearly couldve been in same situ

We weren't in the same situation. We didn't avoid paying tax, we just had owners who used our club as leverage.

A damien comolli signing when he was at spurs the guy really does hav an eye for future talent with resale value.

ACHILLES.

I wish commoli had more control over signing players. Kenny's picks r damn poor.
Indian Buzzer

Really Indian Buzzer? Comolli signed these players years ago before they were proven. We'd have to wait years for his signings to become good not to mention one of the best youth teams out there. Kenny is gathering players that can fill a gap (Downing, Adam) to allow other players to adapt and start a successful period of dominance.

15 Feb 2012 20:13:14
the team that will finish fourth will have to go on a good long unbeaten run. will that be us only time will tell . too many times this season its been one step forward two back . please kenny next 13 games lets go out all guns blazing no negative tactics would rather get beat 6-5 than lose 1-0. the time is nigh now kenny lets sail close to the wind now than regret it come may.

After my short sabbatical, i realise a tad late, but i felt the need to comment on the Suarez issue. After the furore and, ironically Rangers making the headlines, there are still many opinions on what to do, what will happen, what happened etc.

Firstly the handshake. Suarez was in the wrong regardless. All this talk about dropping hands, Evra didn't want to shake, is all a smokescreen from LFC fans who are just entrenched in their 'we support Suarez regardless' stance. There are bigger things at stake than the personal feelings of two pawns. Let's get one thing straight, neither of them really wanted to shake hands with each other and that showed. Unfortunately Suarez allowed Evra to claim the higher moral ground and gave the millions of pundits, media and opposition fans who were equally entrenched in their 'He is a racist' stance the ample evidence. When the whole argument was about who was the 'more reliable character' here was the evidence.

It was a bad mistake, considering when Suarez gave the club, who had supported him through thick and thin, an undertaking that he would indeed shake hands in the week prior to the game. No doubt he would have been informed by the club that the actual act would mean nothing and that the club still supported him but he needed to do this for the club. Suarez let a lot of people down on Saturday.
It also gave the anti LFC media the absolute ideal opportunity to really get stuck into the club knowing we were between a rock and a hard place. For the LFC fans to try and peddle out of this one, just made the mockers mock more. Yet we tried. Photos flooded twitter about Suarez holding a hand out, Evra dropping his thumb etc. All we were doing was just making us look ridiculous and those neutral people who were on the fence regarding the issue, suddenly fell into the 'Suarez is not a nice person, and the panel obviously got it right'.

Our biggest gripe regarding this episode was the process, the evidence, the verdict and how it was reached. The media were totally ignoring our cries and used them to turn the tables. LFC supporting a racist blah, blah, blah. This fuelled our anger, the media fed on this and around the circle went. Suarez then completely undermined all this in one foul swoop.

To increase the anger and frustration, we then had to endure not only Evra and Ferdinand playing up but that tool fergie actually preaching to US and getting away with it! I was absolutely furious. Of course the Oliver Holt's, Patrick Barclay's of this World were like dogs with three hard dicks. We had to take it. There was nothing more we could do. Suarez had put us in that position.

Then out came the apologies, followed by the anti LFC media continuing their skulduggery. 'Forced to apologise by the sponsors, by the pressure in the States, etc.etc' PFA got on board, had their say, used their 15 mins of fame to good effect.

What about Evra's shenanigans you ask? Well our old foes The FA drew a line under the whole business and wipe everything off the record. They did us a favour. Whilst Fergie & Co got away with incitement, we needed to get this issue dumbed down and quick.

For the record, i have no qualms about how the club managed this issue until recently. I didn't think Dalglish's comments on Monday night before the Spurs game was particularly bright and if the issue was going to die down saying 'he shouldn't have been banned in the first place' was not helpful in the slightest. His post match interview after the united game was to put it mildly embarrassing. Other than this the club were not guilty of poor management of the situation, in my opinion

Suarez was/is going to be under such scrutiny in everything he does on the field, the Parker incident evidence that for the rest of the season he steps out of line just once, he'll get little sympathy. You can now add no sympathy whatsoever following Saturday, evidenced by the Ferdinand red card tackle on him.

Add in the fans reaction, the media and i think you'll find it will be the player who bales on the club before the club bale on him.

I do not think for one minute the club will look to sell him in the summer. How Suarez copes throughout the rest of the season will be key. If he can remind everyone, not just this club, what he can do on the pitch, it's a start.

Suarez let us down. However it aint the end of the World. But he's got some payback to make. If i were writing the script, the winning goal(s) in the Carling and FA Cup finals would about make it even.

Bob the Red

Thats why i like you Bob, short and sweet.

My god it is so nice to have a real person with a really good perspective. i am not a liverpool supporter and i have not been over impressed with suarez's attitude but this blog is the best i have ever read on here. i hope suarez reads this and realises just how much you guys love your club and starts do more positive things for the club well wrote sir you should/could be on the board. and hey guys good luck with your season just not too much as i want my team to finish higher. honesty wins everyone over

I don't understand the negativity on this site. We are in a final, have a championship side at home to get to the quaters, 4 points off 4 with both Arsenal and Chelsea at home, and dont have to play any of the top 3 this season why they all have at least one to play. We do have Newcastle away which will be tricky but we are more than capable of beating them away. Also stop slagging off the team, Kenny, the owners and the eds! Support the team and the manger. Also dont reply to annonomous posters as most of them are clearly keyboard warriors. We are known worldwide as the best fans in the world lets prove them right ans shove it in the media and whiskey noses face, when Suarez fires us to 2 trophies and top 4.

fergie really is scrapping the barrell now by sayiing that evra is pulled out of the squad for ajax because of an emotional week. It has nothing to do with that they are not in the champions league anymore?

Old whiskey nose is just a clown maybe he might come out tomorrow with stilts and juggle some balls well he alredy as the red nose. Maybe because he knows he is a very unsucessful in europe he is trying silly mind games already.

Mighty reds

I think Fergie must be a Farmer cos he's Milkin the crap out of the whole handshake thing

MJ

It may be that Ferguson is worried that Ajax
may target Evra. Suarez was their captain and he had a pretty good r3ception when he went back to say 'goodbye' {Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

Shame your owners agree with him and made your star player and manager say sorry like good little boys

Daily Manc and Oliver Holt in particulr never miss a fookin chance to stick knife in.Even heysels been dragged up again

Shame your owners are pocketing all the money your club makes and forcing you to play your pensioners as you cannot afford new players.

Latest Rumour

Ezequiel Lazezzi in "get agent to talk up move to Liverpool in order to get an improved contract and wage increase from Napoli or to hopefully start a bidding war to get the highest wage offer from any other team who's interested" shocker!

He's not the first and he won't be the last before August. Moussa Sow anybody?

Sean {Ed002's Note - It is not his agent.}

Right you are Ed002. How about

Ezequiel Lazezzi in "person who is an agent but is in no way connected to the player in question talks up move to Liverpool without any substance in order to enhance his own profile in the media, possibly start a bidding war from any club who is interested and maybe even earn himself a lucrative introducer fee or some other form of huge financial inducement because none of these parasites give interviews to the media unless they think there might be something in it for them" shocker! ;)

Sean {Ed002's Note - Jose Alberti does not need to enhance his own profile either.}

Ed, if you don't think he needs to enhance his own profile, and I would obviously bow to your superior knowledge as you seem to have more of a connection to the football world than me, then it seems to me that he could certainly do with enhancing his reputation and credibility in England. A cursory search of Google taught me that he's not done a great deal other than be classed as an "expert" by and tribalfootball.com and be classed as an agent in a few other quarters. He may well be connected with transfers in ways in which are not reported to people like me, but the ones I found his name mentioned in connection with have been badly wrongly called as "completed" or "certain" transfers, including Sneijder to United, Toni to West Ham and Dzeko to Milan. As I say though, you seem to have a better knowledge of the man than I.

Sean {Ed002's Note - He is well known for what he is Sean.}

I miss Lucas!

Danski

When you have to watch Frodo, turning like the titanic instead of him, we all miss Lucas.

Who's frodo?

Myk

I'm guessing Frodo is Spearing but I think it is harsh because he has the potential to be a great player and before people start slagging off players that are just coming through maybe they should think back a few years ago to when they were insulting Lucas and now they are saying how much they are missing him
N.I Red

Spearing is a good squad player at best. Gr8 player? Not a chance. He can work his socks off 24 hrs a day, but it simply wont happen for him.

Just watched John Barnes again speaking on racism, really do think he's an excellent and eloquent speaker, Liverpool City Council are Looking to elect a new Mayor, there was a bit of a clamour for Ricky Tomlinson but he's not interested and I don't know whether Barnsey would be interested? But I think he would be a great Ambassador for the City. If being Mayor is not for him well I think the FA could do worse than get rid of that absolutely hopeless Gordon Taylor and give the job to Barnsey so the Fa can start to repair their image, which at the moment is as bad if not worse than anybody's.
What do you think? {Ed002's Note - Gordon Taylor does not work for the FA. I rather doubt that John Barnes will end up as Mayor of Liverpool.}

Jaysus John Barnes Mayor #of# Liverpool how silly can it get?

Next Jimmy Tarbuck will be supreme commander of England

Don't know what job Stan might get?

Sorry PFA but I never thought Arnie would end up Mayor of LA but he did. Liverpool needs a personality as Mayor and an Intelligent black man like Barnsey would be great in our City. Think he would get an awful lot of votes..
kidmillions {Ed002's Note - Schwarzenegger was Governor of California (not Mayor of LA) and followed such greats as Ronald Reagan.}

Stan Boardman for Foreign Secretary !
The Real KB

The mayor of Liverpool will be someone who is a Liverpool personality. The government does not wish political parties to play to big a role in the new Mayoral concept outside of London.

Greats as Ronald Reagan

Now that really is taking the proverbials

Ronny thought he was making a hollywood movie while president

Remember his I am going to enact legislation that will outlaw Russia forever and the he woke up.
{Ed002's Note - I remember him sending the National Guard in to the University of California at Berkeley.}

If barnsey was the mayor we can only hope suarez doesnt receive anything from him as it is customary to shake hands and we all no suarez doesnt do that to well

Well I couldn't give a monkeys if people don't agree, I would love Barnsey to be Mayor of Liverpool. Alright then how about Rafa he would definitely be a great Mayor.

the suareez rumour is bullsh*t it makes no sense whatsoever to hand a transfer request in the middle of february if he is to do it he'll wait untill the end of the season because no one is retorded enough to do it now

What if Anzhi or Zenit have indicated that they want him now?

------------Reina-------------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
-------Spearo--Adam-------
Gerrard----Suarez---Bellamy
-----------Carroll------------

Andy gesticulates in nearly every match that he wants balls hit high and direct with a vertical arch into him. The best person at supply this type of ammunition is Steven Gerrard.

This is why Gerrard should be playing the "Beckham" role on the right side of the midfield. He doesn't have to get to the by line and cross he can simply patrol the right hand side link up well with Johnson and either send Johnson through into the box or fire the said cross early and on to Andy's head.

Andy should stay in the box and occupy the defenders whilst Suarez in the free role finds and exploits the pockets of space to create chances on the floor with Andy/Bellars or getting the ball out wide to Gerrard/Johnson.

The Engineer

Generally speaking, I totally agree. The experiment I wouldn't mind seeing is Agger up as a CDM for Spearing, Kelly in for Johnson, Carra back next to Skrtel. Don't know if Agger would like it, but think he could make a fine CDM as Spearing isn't quite there yet in my opinion.

Spot on engineer mate.

No good waving your arms about, doesn't matter whether the balls to feet, knee, chest, head, back of the head wtf! Think about the ball played in to rooney in their derby last year with Ciy He didn't start waving his arms about because it was too high or behind him? He just twisted in the air overhead kick back of the net! Just using that goal as an example. Fed up listening to people saying Carroll needs better service? it's nonsense
At the level of football that Carroll's playing and getting well paid for. You need to have the ability to make something of even an ordinary ball in to the box. I admit Carroll is starting to show some improvement but he's still a long way off and waving his arms about is not going to improve his movement.
kidmillions

What ye talking about Rooney for kid millions?

You a manc?!

davethebutcher

I know thought that meself after I clicked send :-( lol
kidmillions

Rooney and Carroll are completely different players. Rooney has the ability to make something out of nothing such as that goal against City. You say that is an example Of turning an ordinary cross into something but how many players in the Premier league have the ability to have done what Rooney done? You may as say that playing this level of football and on the money he is paid he should be able to beat three or four players and then dink it into the top corner like Messi.

Carroll relies on good service into the box. On the few occasions he has received it he has looked threatening.

JRG

Kidmillions he doesnt wave his arms about before each set piece or at the start iof the match he will go up do players and up and forward showing the type of crosses that when sent in he cant beat anyone to. Open your eyes lad.

On the subject of type of cross Carroll would like! In to original poster who said Andy gesticulates in nearly every match that he wants balls hit high and direct with a vertical arch into himť I don't know what that means Vertical Arch Any way my point is how are you ever going to score a hooked shot. chest it down put it the corner, a diving header, a back header, a back heel, a toe poke, in off your knee, an overhead kick? All the sort of goals a striker scores.
I am not having a go at Carroll just pointing out however the ball comes into the box, adjust your body and get on the end of it..YOU CAN'T PLAY TELEGRAPHED VERTICALLY ARCHED BALLS INTO THE BOX, ( whatever they are ) THERE TOO EASY TO DEFEND AGAINST.
It's part of the reason when Carroll is not on his game and not scoring we look one dimentional.
kidmillions

Spot on kidmillions, I totally agree.

Ozone

If you dont play to his strength he may as well be sold, he scored most his headed goals with the same kind of balls from Joey Barton, Carroll with never be a complete all striker so stop dreaming and start being realistic.

just read in Das Mail, that our Deluded winger, downing, is desperate to erase previous wembley woes. On this seasons performances a place on either the bench or coach is surely a non starter !

After his gutless performances this season, Downing doesn't deserve to go anywhere near Wembley.

15 Feb 2012 11:54:08
Just had a look at our remaining fixtures and we could go on a very good run. We only have to play Arsenal and Chelsea from the top 4 and the rest of the games we should win.I would bet that we qualify for CL and in the summer we should get some quality players, so people get behind KK stop speculating about players now, i think we have a good squad, be patent seasons not over and we have the Cardiff final to look forward too.!!

Like your optimism but we don't struggle against the big teams like arsenal and chelsea. Its the smaller teams we struggles against and need to get our home form sorted out asap

Everton is going to be a hard game,Sunderland away is not going to be easy

Cant find any info on alleged suarez transfer requested?is this just more twitter talk or does anyone have any solid info?hope he gets his head down and gives his all for the club between now and the end of the season then if he wants to leave so be it.

The Sky 'source' that has 'broke' this story has also said that Howard Webb has joined United on a free transfer so I would treat this report with a very large pinch of salt.

Howard webb is already partve Utd squad

Hi eds great site and i really appreciate the hard work that goes in to it.Could you enlighten with why you think kenny wont play johnson on the right wing ? Seeing as we have young talented kelly who can easily fill his boots at right fuullback. cheers eds
hunty morecambe. {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Young Toni Silva has gone out on loan to Northampton Town, where he apparently scored last night. It would be great if he got a go in the first team next season.
Kelly at FB and Silva on the wing.
There could be several top kids coming through in the next couple of years.
The Real KB

I have just been reading about young Toni Silva making his debut against AFC Wimbledon. He didn't score but he went on a mazy run beating three players before the keeper saved his shot but someone followed it up.

He had a good game apparently - have been trying to find some video but all I could find was on the LFC website and I am not a member.

JRG

They showed the northampton goal on sky sports today when they were doing their league review. I'm from northampton and know a few people who were at the game last night and are absolutely buzzing about him saying he made the difference last night to a team that have been lacking class or confidence all season

Hi Eds do you know if Flannagan is still being tested at centre mid? He's been playing very well in the reserves at right back recently. {Ed001's Note - I believe that they think his time in midfield has improved his understanding of his role in the team. I expect him to revert to right back now.}

His score of goal may make him next striker :)

Hey KNEE JERK do you think your actions may have been a bit of a, well you know, knee jerk?

Chris in Tamworth

Did you offer her a handshake before she left or did she slightly lower her hands?

Dont u mean 4 seasons

That will teach her for getting you that signed Wayne Rooney picture for valentines day.

JRG

Schoolboy error KNEE JERK. You should have done it a day or two earlier and saved on the price of a card, flowers and chocolate. There are only four beneficially correct weeks in the Calendar on which to bin your lady - the week before her birthday, the week before Valentine's Day, the week before Christmas and the week after your own birthday. Any other time and you're just throwing money away. Learn your lesson young man or you'll always be in the reserves, never in the First 11.

Sean.

Correct Sean my birthday is 8th Feb, there was no handshake but she took objection to me jumping up and down celebrating in front of her.

KNEE JERK

P.S there was no cards or choclates, just a heavy dose of reality.

Aurelio

Henderson
Adam

Downing
Shelvey
Maxi

Bellamy

Doni, Johnson, Skrtel, Spearing, Downing, Suarez, Carroll

LOL How can downing be on the starting lineup and subs bench. But would start him anyway. I would like to put kuyt as lone striker instear of bellamy to make sure he is ready to play Carling cup final.

AJ

There's no m/w game and certain players need time together. Try this lineup.

Reina
Kelly - Carragher - Coates - Robinson
Spearing
Downing - Gerrard - Maxi
Suarez - Carroll

Subs - Doni, Enrique, Skrtel, Henderson, Shelvey, Kuyt, Bellamy

Through the Storm

Gerrard nowhere to be seen?

No Spearing thanks
