Liverpool should definetly go for Banega or Adam in the summer.

Liverpool have lost so many games this season due to having a pourous midfield. This feature of the LFC midfield can be overcome if Liverpool sign a defensive midfield player that can dictate the pace of football game along with confidently distributing ball to team mates.

Banega or Adam would fit this role.

Hmmm, I see what you're saying.
I just think a player like Aquilani, perhaps more physical would work wonders because his quick passing fits in with Kenny's pass and move play, the liverpool way!
But yeah, if he does not want to come back then that's cool. (Y)
Charlie Adam though anyone LOL. I really hope we do.

Ed do you think we are interested in sergio canales {Ed002's Note - I think there is an interest but I am not sure that Real Madrid will let the player leave. Whilst he has only played a few games this year he is seen as one for the future? Would Liverpool sell Kelly?}

I understand the point you're trying to make, but don't you think that Canales' situation is different? Canales played for Racing Santander until last year. Kelly was raised through Liverpool's ranks from day one. Kelly is now a regular. Canales is not. I think Canales will strongly consider making a move. He can always go back to Real Madrid once he's proven himself. If he honored a 5 year contract with Liverpool, he'd be hopping back over to Madrid in his prime. . he would only be 25!

bocaj {Ed001's Note - that would be accepting he is not ready for Madrid when he obviously thought he was or he wouldn't have signed for them.}

He's played quite well for Juventus having been a part of 25 games. In these, he's scored 2 goals, assisted 3 and taken a total of 43 shots.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

PMSL, brilliant, just what we need.

Im sure carragher has a better record than that in a much tougher league.

So his season averages are:
1 goal every 13 games
1 assist every 12 games
1 goal out of every 22 shots

Yea, KK, bring alberto back home, please

Aquilani never did, and never will have the mentality to succeed in England.

When he heard the kop moan at some of his awful touches, injured or not, his head dropped and he looked like he wanted to hide somewhere.

We currently have no midfielders who drop their head when losing possession, they fight to get it back (minus poulson ofcourse)

Aquilani, please, stay in Italy.

I for one would like to see Aquilani feature next season amidst rumours that Juventus are only willing to pay a ridiculous £5 Million. If we do get a good offer then by all means, let him go. However, it is an area that we need strengthening in.
I understand calls regarding him not being physical enough for the Premier League but there are a couple of players who aren't too and play brilliantly for their team in the attacking midfield role.
I sympathise with his situation because he had just come back from a long-standing injury and had started to look the real deal. Roy Hodgson was the man who sent him out and personally, I wouldn't take his judgement too seriously.
He's played quite well for Juventus having been a part of 25 games. In these, he's scored 2 goals, assisted 3 and taken a total of 43 shots.
It'd be like a new signing for us. If it turns out to be a bad choice then sell him off in January!
Imagine an attacking midfield of trio Gerrard, Meireles and Aquilani, would give us the possibility of rotation and a class player covering for injury at all times.
If we buy a player like Charlie Adam who will control the midfield then we could have a choice of Lucas or the individual we would sign.
Marveaux is most likely to sign, numerous reports suggests so. We've also been linked to the likes of Arda Turan, Keisuke Honda, Ashley Young, Diego Perotti, balazs dzsudzsak and most recently Andre Ayew who showed potential in today's depressing result (lol). I'd take any 2 of them.
A good left back or Johnson continuing his role there and a back-up striker would do us no harm at all. Van Wolfswinkel, Benzema etc would be very good additions to the squad.
Quite a long post but what do you think of the overall context Ed(s) and fellow posters?
RedSox69 {Ed001's Note - he doesn't want to return to England, let him go.}

RE: Because Barcelona pay thousands and thousands on private health

Have you seen the labour budget spend on healthcare from 1997 to 2010. 47bill a year in 1997 went up to 122billion in 2010 year year. the increase in a labour lifetime is shocking. Thats more money than a bara team could ever spend. I just don't understand why we can't get treatment from moron doctors who treat me like an idiot because i don't have his degree. I went into my heart-specialist said these are my symptoms. I'm not a idiot i goggled it and it came back with pulmonary hypertension.

The Doctor just became sarcastic. Turned round said well what do you expect me to do about it, you have a computer at home ask it. When ended up collapsing on Treadmill Test. My heart felt off for a weeks after that test. Plus i know they found something wrong with my Pulmonary artery from the ultersound. The technician kinda gave the game away when started asking if i had problems walking, but he shut up said you see your doctor. Iv been waiting for 2 months to see the specialist. I know he is going to give me bad news.

The whole thing has been a joke.

{As for Jovetic there has been interest from Roy Hodgson and the player knocked back an enquiry in the summer. Since then there has been an injury as well. I don't know of any interest in the player at the moment - but it does not mean that there isn't any. But I should stress that he was a target for Roy Hodgson.}

Jovetic was a Benitez target the season before last (as was Meireles) but surprise surprise, the bank's loan interest ended ours. Looks like the 'the king maker' Purslow slipped Rafa's shopping list into Woy's slippers last Summer after the underwhelming arrival of Poo-lsen and Con-chavsky. Help a senile, p1ss stained arl' ba5tard out as you do.

I like football as much as the next guy, but i don't see why people are put on pedestals. We both came from the same country, but people like stevie made it while the rest us didn't.

Its a lottery, i'm sure most of us that watch football play it to some kind of level. at School may of had the chance of making it. Chip on my shoulder. A person who makes 60k a week expects to pay for nothing. On the other hand we all walk past people who could use 10p in change.

Well i went down to the doctors concern a chest pains. They told me to go die in quite corner in doctor talk. How come players get treated just like that, while we common man get nothing from this government.

Because Barcelona pay thousands and thousands on private health care while the government cares more about your money then you.

I've have plenty of problems on a long term hip and back injury, nhs doesn't do f*** all.

I think Liverpool getting 4th is possible and Tottenham just don't have the quality to win CL. I will put money on the following win-draw-win's.

If liverpool hold nerve and get through the next four games. We should be battering teams like Sunderland and WBA. Man City should be Payback for the earlier this season. Every goal we score at city, dents their goal lead.

I remember lots of games against the arsenal where lfc out-powered them at emirates. The team isn't that fast, not that strong and without a hardget man. Arsenal look lost upfront

Do you think Kenny will consider including players such as Conor Coady and Raheem Sterling in our squads. I think that Coady is so much better than Poulson but it's the not so great dane that always ends up playing in the europa league. I also think Sterling would do a really good job as a impact player from the bench and he would gain valuable 1st team experience. I think these two players and the likes of Pacheco and Suso should start to be picked for the 1st team. I don't get why kenny isn't picking them

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The reason Kenny is not picking them is because he and his advisors at youth level do not think they are ready to throw into the premier league just yet , it is a massive massive step up from youth level football to premier league football.
Don't worry if and when they are ready they will get thier chance , that is one thing you can rely on and trust with Kenny Dalglish.

The last few years has seen Chelsea and Man City buy the latest fashion trends in left backs and all at sky high prices.

In 2009 i can remember everyone on this site going mad for Rafa to buy Yuri Zhirkov and that he was the best thing since sliced bread.

Chelsea dived in for £18M and look at how that worked out. Last season Man City watched Alex Kolorov strutting his stuff on the Rome catwalk and dived in again for £17M.

Wasted money. This year's latest foreign trend is Fabio Countrao and Taiwo. Just look at Taiwo tonight and that's the last you'll mention him again. Remember he's meant to be a left back not a left sided midfielder who just jogs back when caught out of position who seems to have a half decent left foot.

Fabio Countrao? I would never pay anything more than £5/ 6M on a full back. That's all they're worth.

14 minutes and 23 seconds, this is how long it took me to find out that Taiwo is utter rubbish. His positional play is staggeringly poor. I think Marseille are trying to give him away.

When it comes to free transfers more often than not its because the player is carp, and the club isn't arsed if they go or not.

kelly is brilliant an also a scouser, canales is brilliant but he was bought from racing if im correct, madrid havent produced any talent since raul an casillas an the men at the top want to start producing talent to emulate whay barca have bin doing for the past 5-6 years now, now this is only a theory so don't jump down my throat, having canales might hamper the progession into the first team of a promising young striker who is madrid born, who wud be a firm fan favourite, i think this because at madrid there are alot of background politics

ed are you ready to totally dismiss this mate? ha ha {Ed005's Note - Fiorentino Perez was probably the man who pushed to get Canales at the club. He wants to bring in some Spanish talent to R.Madrid and I'm sure he brought Canales in as one for the future. He won't hamper a good player coming through - if that player has the ability he will come through. I don't think Real Madrid will sell Canales, I think they'll let him go on loan.}

In response to some of the rumours about McGeady I am Irish and have seen a lot of him and if Liverpool were to sign him then I would heave a heavy sigh of disappoinment and fear for the future.
McGeady is a headless chicken. He reminds of a poor man's version of the early Cristiano Ronaldo who was all flicks and tricks without any end product. McGeady attempts tricks that rarely come off, runs with his head down and tries ridiculous shots when a pass should be made. He is 24 and whereas Ronaldo eliminated the flaws from his game McGeady has not.
If this is the level of player we are looking at then we should all worry. {Ed007's Note - Wasn't he linked with a £30 million move to Dynamo Kiev? Although I have seen him linked with Liverpool for £20-25 million}

My question is if Tottenham win the Champions league and finish in sixth they still qualify for the Champions league and Chelsea lose their place, would Chelsea then be dropped down to the Europa League and if so would Liverpool lose their place even if they finish fifth as all three places are filled?

If Spurs win the Champs lge (Aha ha ) then next year England have 5 teams in the competition, Spurs & Chelsea will have to go through the qual stages.

Are you not a liverpool fan? ?

We were in this scenario when we won the champs lge - Everton also made to qual stages of champs lge

If Spurs were to win the Champions league and finish 5th then they would take the place of the 4th place team who would then drop into the Europa League. The team finishing in 6th place in the league would then drop out of Europa league unless either of the Manchester clubs win the FA cup and also qualify for the CL.

Rules were changed after the 2006 debacle.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Ed could you clear all of this up please {Ed002's Note - Yes. If Spurs win the Champions League and do not come in the top four then they go in with the top three and the fourth placed team drops to a Europa League place. The Europa League places are assigned to League Cup Winners, FA Cup Winners (or runners up if the winners have already qualified for Europe - so Bolton or Stoke). The final Europa league place goes to fifth in the league. If this most unlikely scenario were to arise, for that year only, four English teams would appear in the Europa League. Oddly, if Liverpool were to win the Europa League, they would also qualify if the FA make a formal request to UEFA for an exception and that exception is granted. So it is possible (under very unlikely circumstances) to have five teams enter. However, there is no provision for a fifth team to enter the Champions League as happened previously.}

Adam Morgan, Conar Coady, John Flanagan, Jack Robbinsin, A good core of quality scousers coming through, Ed which one of these will captain the side you reckon, I'd say Coady looks class, Clever in the pass too, But i do love Flanagans tackle's, And Morgan is a natural goal scorer, Not seen alot of Robinson too say either way tho.

UCCM {Ed005's Note - I haven't really seen enough of those young lads to say who could be the captain.}

{Ed005's Note - I can see us finishing in 6th position. For a while there it looked as if we could have a good go for 4th place but one or two bad results changed that. However our progress under Dalglish has been great, and had he been here since August we'd have been challenging for 4th. But if we have a good Summer in the transfer market there's no reason why we can't challenge for 4th next season.}

I have to say Ed, I disagree, If KK had been here in August we'd have deffinatly been in the top 4, With a good summer i think we can chalenge for the title, If we add width and a good passing DM, we will be a real threat

GK - Reina
RB - Kelly
LB - Johnson
CB - Ayala
CB - Agger
RM - Gerrard
LM - Marvoux (spelling)
CM - Raul
CM - M'vila
ST - Carroll
ST - Suarez

That means buying 1 player, M'vila, And pre contract for french (difficult name) winger, That dosnt include who else we could sign to add to the squad.

1. Arsenal
2. Man utd
3. Man City
4. Liverpool
5. Chelsea
6. Tottenham

I can't help but feel, Alot of posters are getting there hopes up over what is an allmost impossible task, Once Torres scores for Chelsea i can see them finishing well this season, Spurs could stay in the CL and lose focus on the EPL, Or they could get knocked out and lose confidence. Lads it time to face facts Man Utd will win the league, BUT they will be the hunted when they do, We have been the hunted for so long now, A small 1 season break won't hurt us. Man City could finish second as Arsenal are on a massive down ward spiral at the moment, So my honest (heart breaking) end of season table is like this.

1- Man Utd
2- Man City
3- Arsenal
4- Chelsea
5- Liverpool
6- Tottenham

Ed how do you see the season ending, Cheers

Marveaux and Ayew would be two good cheap signings for the wings. Then we could sell maxi and jova and bring in a top quality winger to go infront of one of the two previously mentioned. then we'd have options on the wings and more depth too!

. . not "The Madness of King Roy" . . . just a small rash on my leg!

I don't see the justification for so many posters saying today that Per Mertesacker is a preferred, desirable or wanted target for LFC.
Despite his height (6'6") he is one of the slower central defenders in the Bundesliga and has not shone for Werder Bremen for most of this season.

Even in the national side he has been exposed as fragile at times and he is no Daniel Agger in terms of bringing the ball out of defence.

As usual, it seems that we are enchanted by a name and seduced by the fact that he plays in a very strong national side that sometimes hides his weaknesses.

If we are to revamp our central defensive partnership, I for one would like to see (and it will never happen) a back 3 comprising Ryan Shawcross and Jamie Carragher as the man markers with Agger sweeping up behind them.

We have one giant in Andy Carroll and Mertesacker's lack of pace at the back would be exposed in the Premier League.

Rules were changed after the 2006 debacle.

the rules were changed the following season so that if the winner of the champions league finished outside of the top four, the team in fourth position lost out on the champions league qualification.

If Liverpool win every single game and start putting 4 goals away per game. Then we should make 4th spot.

this Sunday will be the starting of our champions league run down. conservatively the top 4 teams will still have to play each other. They will drop points.

1 Arsenal
2 Man U
3 Chelsea
4 Liverpool

But Liverpool will have to go on unbeaten run to the last game of the season. We should of gotten out of Europe earlier. The prize money doesn't make it worth our time.

Sunderland A 13:30
WBA A 15:00 2 Apr 2011

We have to win these two away games. Really who are Sunderland + WBA compared to us. We should be beating them by 4 goals.

Man City H 20:00 11 Apr 2011
Arsenal A 16:00 17 Apr 2011

If we do Man City at home and Arsenal Away. Really Arsenal have been poor and playing like they already lost it. Best time to take them on would be sooner than later.

1-Man Utd 32-36-69
2-Arsenal 33-32-67
3-Chelsea 33-32-64
4-Man City33-20-57
5-Tottenha32-09-56
6-Liverpoo32-09-51

If Liverpool really go for the results. Then tat gap is going to close up. But we will have to start scoring more goals. The goal difference between Man City and Liverpool is going to be the problem.

Need to step it up a gear for April.

23 Apr 2011 Birmingham -H -15:00
1 May 2011 N'castle -H -12:00

Two more wins and we should be right back in it. I think it is really possible to go well. Andy Carrol back Luis Suarez magic. I can't really see the point of europa cup. CL is possible.

6 games and the things will completely turn. The top four will end up playing each other. We will benefit

7 May 2011 Fulham A 15:00
15 May 2011 Tottenham H 15:00

Beat Tottenham we could be a top four team. Its manageable. The quality has to kick in against Sunderland and good run to the end of the season.

22 May 2011 Villa A 16:00

Painful as it looks, that's more likely how it will be. We have too much work to do than to to be thinking about anything but the rebuild. I got battered a couple of weeks ago on here for suggesting that the Europa isn't worth the effort except as a proving ground for players, formations and tactics, still havent changed my mind. The day we see it as an important competition to us, is when we will have accepted we are not coming back, and that should never happen.

Heres a question for ya,

What happens if this scenario occurs at the end of the season:-

Tottenham win the champions league therefore qualify for next years

Premier league top six as follows:

1. Arsenal (qualify for champions league)
2. Man utd (qualify for champions league)
3. Man City (qualify for champions league)
4. Chelsea (Lose champions league spot to Tottenham, Europa instead?)
5. Liverpool (Do we still get Europa League?)
6. Tottenham (qualify for champions league)

Others:-
Birmingham (Europa League - League Cup)
Bolton / Stoke (Europa League - FA Cup)

My question is if Tottenham win the Champions league and finish in sixth they still qualify for the Champions league and Chelsea lose their place, would Chelsea then be dropped down to the Europa League and if so would Liverpool lose their place even if they finish fifth as all three places are filled?

I know its unlikely to occur but it just had me thinking.

all you need to hope is we finish in 5th or win europa league or we won't be in europe next season its as simple as that

Although I am a Liverpool supporter, I admire Reina's honesty saying that he would never rule out a move. Anyone that says they would never move is probably not telling the truth eg Torres. At the end of the day Reina must think professionally. Think, if you were one of the best players in the world in your position, and another club offered you a chance of immediate success and CL football, you would have to consider it. We must be realistic, we are not at the same level as other clubs at the moment, although we are improving.

I think he will stay for next season, but do not hate him if he leaves.

At first I took no notice because every single day there are ridiculous rumours surfacing about player X linked to club Y for sum Z. However I'm seeing the Benzema rumour more and more often now and I suppose I'm starting to take notice but I just can't see it happening. My main reasons for being dubious are A) he has starting playing well and scoring for Real and with the lack of depth in strikers at Real Madrid exposed this season after Higuin's injury I can't see Mourinho, or other, letting him go. B) Why would he want to come to us when we probably won't have any European football next year, when he could go to a club who have CL. or at least EL.? Yes you COULD argue that it's because we are a team on the up, improving each year and going for CL next year but, cynically, I doubt that would persuade him to come. So I suppose the point of my post is, can anyone offer me a reason why the rumours are more than just that? Any hard evidence that we should start to believe we will sign him?

Lucas has improved a hell of a lot and been one of our better players and been one of our better players but after the summer how many of you would still have him in your starting 11? starting 11? There are a lot more better players out there than Lucas for that position LAVERS
- - - -
Completely agree, as fans of the club I feel we have a right and an obligation to say if someone isn't good enough, to me lying and saying everyone is good enough simply says you both a lack of passion and ambition for the club as you are obviously not bothered about the club succeeding.
Lucas has been a huge improvement this year but that doesn't make him word class, hes gone from being 1 out of 10 to 5 out of ten. Huge improvement but needs to keep improving.

Noticed recently that the Ed's are playing down Liverpool's chances of signing big names this summer. I'm not so skeptical. Don't write off anyone. {Ed001's Note - no one is saying big names won't be signed, it is just unlikely to be the ones bandied around on here.}

"The Madness of King Roy XXXVII"

Too much negativity about the game?
Grow up!
( . . writer flashes a weak smile and sly grin as he puts literal pen to paper in angry retort to those who complain about the moaning of all things about the game . .)
You mean just let the rot and rubbish in the game sit there without comment?
How does this lot grab you then?

TERRY: you and the rest of us are paying in a roundabout way for the Cadre of Criminal Clowns called The FA. Now the real clown they have begged to remain as manager is about to reinstate John Terry as captain? Is this the man Steven Gerrard will be happy to see take his armband? Is he really the 'role model' for the country's game or should it go to Ashley (31 with a bullet) Cole?

WHINGER: I was of the impression - because he has told me and you and all of us so, so, so many times - that he has a "very young" team. Now he looks in desperation for a 41 year old keeper. Can I ask if their much vaunted academy or reserves have anyone remotely good enough to be a number two? If he wants a leader in the changing rooms, why not appoint a decent number two?

LUCAS & BRAZIL: I hope Lucas does not play for Brazil in the much overhyped friendly game versus Scotland at the Emirates. A bunch of overhyped South Americans that will have the commentators reaching for the Hansen Exaggerations Dictionary 2010 and a team representing a national league that nobody seems remotely interested in!
"Did you see the way Anybodyo adjusted his sweatband Barry? That was sensational! A real genius from South America!" (Cue samba music and pictures of a beach . . )

SPEARING: I have never been a fan of this player. Too small, a good passer, but not of the highest standard. Sadly for this man, the current crop of younger players such as Shelvey, Suso, Coady and Wisdom will pass him by. What I don't like to read is the slight negativity about him from some posters; he has tried and been faithful, but time moves on and so will Jay Spearing.

WISHLISTS: they have returned to haunt my waking hours. Yet the names suggested also seem to hint at a reservation about so many French players. With DC running the charge for talent, that is to be expected. I would give this French venture a chance to prove its worth. After all, the Spanish caravanserai did put us in bed with Alonso and Torres. Maybe DC and KK can conjure up such dreams in the next 18 Gallic months . .

FINALLY: I must be in a minority of one. I have no love for the Olympics. Tessa Jowell tells us this morning on Radio 5 that the Olympics are for everyone. I live in South London. I paid my 95p extra council tax each month for the past four years to help the games. The games take place mainly in East London. What benefit will I get? Simple question. Legacy? There will not be one! After all, what legacy for the main Olympic stadium when it has been allocated to a football club as the main activity!

I rest all our cases today!

Ed, whats your take on people crying foul over Reina(Spanish) moving to Manure but has no shame linking Baines(Scouser) with us and thereby inviting the wrath of Evertonians! I know Everton is struggling financially and Baines is a terrific left back, but will he agree to join a rival club and even if he does so(hopefully since he is a Liverpudlian :D), will the Kop faithful accept him? {Ed002's Note - It is not worth considering until he says he is moving their. Hey ed, I am not too sure how to feel about the Baines rumours. It isn't because I would not want him to come to us because I would love that, but I just don't want to get my hopes up as I cannot see it happening. Surely, even in dire financial straits Everton would not want to sell to us, but also would he even want to move to us?

"Why do soo many people want us 2 sign Shay Given? he is good but he's 34 almost 35 making him a short term solution if pepe goes. the only rational explanation would be if we were going to introduce either bouzanis or gulacsi as first team keeper in the not too distant future?"

Given that Given is a goaly, being 34/ 35 is not a problem for me. He could play until he is 40 after all and he is a great player. We could easily get 3 good years out of him and 5 at a push plus the time to bring someone younger along. I think also that Irish Kev is correct, KK signed him at Blackburn and Newcastle so I think he quite likes him as a player!

Could any of the editors explain why we must get 5th this season in order to qualify for europa?is it something to do with the cup winners etc?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - There are three Europa League places - one for fifth in the league and one for the FA Cup winners (Birmingham) and one for the League Cup Winners (or runners up if the winners have already qualified). Yes but he was with Maxi whom is his BEST friend in football, he is always in Liverpool and was a fan growing up but he will NOT be moving to us, we could afford the £40+ million and his current £250,000 wages. Maxi lives in the city cemtre so they are always seen together and they both often dine in Carras bar!

Waro, Irish Kev, Blair, Calm down lads! We are all LFC fans ( I hope) and should not be "fighting" amongst ourselves. I'm Liverpool born and bred but live in Scotland now - does that make me a "Wooly"? As a lad I used to go to games, turn up and buy a ticket - those days are now gone sadly. The excitement of queing up at the turnstile - heady days. Can't get to the games anymore as it is too difficult to get tickets and expensive for me to bring myself and daughter who loves the club and wants to play for LFC ladies. What is wrong with that?

LFC is a family and we should never forget that. We stand together - we fall together (but not very often).

Hi Ed,

Can you just clear the European places up for me please.

We must finish 4th or 5th to qualify for European competition next year, is this correct? ?

Thanks,
Rez {Ed002's Note - Win the Europa Cup of finish 1-5.}

I was looking the posts about Lucas last night. I know the guy was getting abit carried away but to me he has a point.
slagging players off doesn't mean your not a fan that's football for you, this will happen about every single team in the world.
when he said which top team would want Lucas and people where saying he's better than players at arsenal and united currently so yes.
yes Lucas probably is better than carrick but if united wanted to replace him they wouldn't go for Lucas they would look at someone better.
Lucas has improved a hell of a lot and been one of our better players but after the summer how many of you would still have him in your starting 11?
There are a lot more better players out there than Lucas for that position.

Why do soo many people want us 2 sign Shay Given? he is good but he's 34 almost 35 making him a short term solution if pepe goes. the only rational explanation would be if we were going to introduce either bouzanis or gulacsi as first team keeper in the not too distant future?

15 Mar 2011 02:34:21
If we sign Taiwo it will be like sliding a pile of s**t to one side to make room for a pile of s**te. I cannot believe that anybody rates this guy as being good enough for us and if he does become a red, we will richly deserve every bit of misfortune he brings us 'cos he is s**t!

How many of his games have you wached so far? what part of his game is bad? or you just talking sh**t because your lazy sh**t Arse has nothing to do but stuck on the chair all day?

Hi ed, hearing alot here in ireland about liverpool being interested in signing shane long, just wondering if there is anything in it.

{Ed005's Note - I doubt it, as the player isn't even PL standard let alone Liverpool standard. The papers in the Republic of Ireland tend to link every Irish player with Liverpool.}

= = = = = = = = =

I had a season ticket at Reading for 7 years and this kid is not good enough for the premiership. Kevin Doyle hasnt done much in the premiership and Shane isn't half as good. Up until this season Reading fans slagged him off at every opportunity, and while he has improved remarkably he still misses a hat full of chances and would struggle to hold down a a first team place in a team like Wolves (look at Stephen Hunt) He works hard and is a tough player but hasn't got the quality to make it in the lower end of the premiership.

Waro,
I am happy to "meet" anyone pal, even you with you're slightly threatening manner.
You have been a bit of a t**t on here all evening & if you can't see that then that's your problem.
You ARE hiding behind your keyboard as you're trying to insult folk on here all evening.
Now just go to bed as you've school in the morning kiddo. LOL!
By the way, i too am a former bouncer Blair.
Not 6 foot 4 or anything but in nearly a decade of doing it i managed to keep my own teeth. But Waro thinks he's the hard man on here.
Waro, you will learn mate. If you carry your internet attitude around with you for life you will get yours one day believe me.
Now where would you like to meet?
Angels still open? LOL!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

TBH ED although that waro lad seems 2 b a bit simple. . The atmosphere at anfield has gone flat over the past few years and i have to say that a lot of hardcore fans stopped goin the match when seats were put in, and with them went a lot of the atmosphere. .I know we are a huge club worldwide but i shouldn't be shocked when i hear a scouse accent at the match. . .
Guess im old school but i would never have took my backpack and brand new Kodak camera to the match takin pictures of every landmark along the way. .
Dave. . {Ed001's Note - I do agree that the atmosphere has been badly affected by the daytrippers, but that's because people just can't afford to go regularly these days. It is only those on a daytrip that can afford it, that needs to change with a new stadium/ stadium regeneration. There also needs to be some way of allowing friends to move to sit together, that was what made it different with standing. Everyone stood together, and it is much easier to get a song started when a group of you are singing than if one person tries to get it going. There needs to be room for daytrippers and regular fans - though I wish they would put a ban on those people taking photos at the game. It drives me mad now I can no longer go and someone is taking a seat I would love to be in and not actually watching the game or singing because they are too busy messing about with a camera!}

That cuts both ways fellas!
I have Scouse relatives so am lucky enough to have been to games with them & continue to go about 5 - 6 times a season depending on work etc. I have found it to be a lot of the locals who have lost their voice too. Instead spending too much time bickering amongst themselves about how poor such & such are playing today! Not even watching the game! Just moan, moan, moan! !
I have been to games with both locals & Irish fans who are friends of mine & can tell you the Irish are as much if not more vocal in their support & singing. Maybe the locals are just so used to being there it means less to them resulting in dwindling passion?!
Do Egyptians come out of their houses every single morning & look at the Pyramids in awe & amazement? I sincerely doubt it.
I agree about the friends sitting together thing, it would probably be difficult to arrange but worth looking at. On the "day dippers" situation - why can't they be allocated the seats way by the back of whatever stand they're in? If they're quiet & don't sing then they'd be no loss & can take as many photos as they'd like in nobodies way.
Put all season ticket holders as near the front as possible!
Or the club could organise a sort of "singing club" of fans to make a louder atmosphere & put them mainly in the Kop. But spread them elsewhere too. Think this was attempted before around 2006 though & didn't really work?! Not sure on that - may have dreamed it?!
I'm not saying all the above is what happens in all cases obviously but in my experience it has & continues to.
Everybody, regardless of their nationality, sex or colour who goes to Anfield should be involved in the singing for the team or they haven't much business in being there.
Just my opinion!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

There is a Football - Rumours Facebook page but there is nothing on it really as Ed001 told me he just hasn't the time to get too into it!
You can "Like" the site but that's about it!
It would be great to have it on Facebook but not at the expense of this site i'd hope.
Just search Football - Rumours on FB & you should find it straight away pretty much!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

Thanks Kev,

No problem mate.
Enjoy! !
Did you find "Football - Rumours" yeah?
That's this particular site i believe.
You can add "likes" to individual players pages / the official website which will keep you updated with headlines etc. You just gotta search them out first. Just experiment away with it & you'll find your feet quick enough! Good luck with it (pleasing the wife i mean lol).
Trust me, i feel your pain lol! !
Now i'm off to clean the dishes!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.
P.S.
Ed001, do you think you'll ever bother to update anything on the "Football - Rumours" FB site?
It's probably a waste of time & effort really for you i assume is it?! {Ed001's Note - there isn't really a lot I can do with it, I was going to start linking the pics posted or something. I just don't have a clue what else can be done with it to be honest.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Thought as much Ed to be honest!
It'd probably only attract negative people & comments anyway which you'd be unable to edit / delete.
"Waro",
What's wrong with ya kid?
Why the bitterness?
I've spoken to you before on here but without the bitterness?! Why the change now?
It's a banter site as you know, not a hate site pal!
Do you have a problem with me now too cause i support LFC but speak with an Irish accent?
If so, well that's your loss in life pal - you obviously know very little on the history between Liverpool & Ireland if so mate. LFC is supported by folk all over the world. Is Suarez from Liverpool? No, but i bet you were loving it when he zig zagged between the Utd players last week.
I would have to assume you're a kid / have a child like mentality if that's the way you're gonna continue to conduct yourself on here, hiding behind your keyboard.
Just forget about whatever is eating you up now & show a little respect to people talking to you on here before you get banned - unless that's what you wish to accomplish?!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

Waro {Ed001's Note - I couldn't be bothered to read through a lot of shouting about something you were wrong with anyway. I suppose you would like my birth certificate next to see proof I was born in Fazakerley Hossie?}
