Hey eds,
It is clear we have a striker problem and need someone who can find the net. But how likely are the likes of llorente, hooper, david villa or sturridge to join? is their any real interset in quaresma as he would be quite cheap. And what is the situation with walcott? is it really that he wants to play striker, or is it a money issue, as i fear it is. If it is because hes not playing striker i think we have a decent chance of getting him as we need a striker, but i do not feel liverpool would pay much higher wages than arsenal have offered

15 Oct 2012 21:34:26
I think Liverpool should take advantage of the situation at villa and get Darren bent given the chances we create and the fact bent is a goal machine I think it would be a very good move by Rodgers

It would only be a good deal if they would agree to a straight swap for Downing.

Mantis

Bent will go to qpr

Might seem like a silly question, but were we to get naming rights, would the 'This is Anfield' sign be allowed to stay? Just a piece of tradition which I think should be accommodated for

NextGenRed

This is Pepsi stadium at anfield..

It's just a sign!
Nowadays "This is Anfield" translates as "Shut up shop and you'll get at least a point....they're crap up front".
Traditionalists might swoon at the very notion but the sign doesn't mean a lot if we're rubbish at home !
ANFIELDPETE

15 Oct 2012 22:48:33
No sponsor or CEO in their right mind would even enquire about having that removed.

- Something Red -

Anfielpete grow up.

15 Oct 2012 23:27:08
Something red mate any sponsor will be crazy not to remove it coz it will massively undermine any sponsor name

You could get renamed to the McDonld arena

Pardoe

Naming rights will go to Budweiser i think so the stadium will be the budweiser stadium

15 Oct 2012 20:57:51
If they sell the naming rights, what will happen to the this is anfield sign?

Hounsred

15 Oct 2012 20:53:21
Ok lads just few points.
Delighted anfield been redevelop. Great for the club and city. Lfc are responsible for Hugh employment in the city . Just ask the hotels how they did when we weren't in Europe last season.
The city needs lfc to survive.
Talk about naming rites will continue. But when fgs developed fenway was it called the American airways stadium .no it stayed fenway park. Just like i believe afield will remain anfield .
I would love the main stand to be renamed in memory of the 96. Time will tell.
Lastly on a football matter .our home record is so bad. Should br bring the players to anfield to train. Make them love the place again. Just a thought.

Marker.

Hugh must be pretty chuffed

15 Oct 2012 18:30:10
No matter what you call the building, it is not moving location so we can always say this is Anfield.
Look at it this way, ask most fans where do West Ham play?

You can say it but it wouldnt be true would it!

and no this is anfield sign in the tunnel

The west ham thing has nothing to do with naming rights. Its based on the area of london

Regardless of the naming rights, i will never remove my This is Anfield sign from my landing, always touch it on the way down the stairs.

Everyone who is anyone knows that West Ham United play at the Boleyn Ground!
Ben Terug

15 Oct 2012 18:24:29
when we redevelop its imperative that we make the playing area bigger , same size as city and utd who coincidentally had the two best home records. we have to have same size pitch as its harder to park the bus on a big pitch.

alan waddle {Ed002's Note - The pitch sizes are determined by the FA now.}

Surely the pitch sizes are determined by the individual clubs providing they are within the FA guidelines.

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - It changed this season Chris.}

Is the size of our current pitch smaller than the new fa regs Ed?
In which case we could make the pitch larger.

Cheers
Phooey {Ed001's Note - all pitches have to be the same size.}

They are all different though? Man united has a much bigger one than ours, is it not possible that we could have one the same size?

BthekingB {Ed001's Note - they have to be the same size, theirs is the same size as ours and Stoke's and anyone else in the Prem!}

Is it going to be one standard size? or how does the FA decide who has what size pitch?
Andrew {Ed001's Note - all one standard size and has been all season.}

Have to admit I'd missed that rule change thanks for the info

Chris in Tamworth

All the pitches are the same size. It's just the goals that are different - Manchester United always attack large goals with small keepers and with the goalposts and bar pointing inwards - Liverpool always attack small goals with large goalkeepers and the goalposts and bar pointing outwards. That's not really true but mostly it seems to be that way.
Ben Terug

Ok, thanks, I think that takes away from home field advantage. Passing team want a huge pitch and long ball teams want a smaller one
Andrew

15 Oct 2012 23:01:06
Okay, since it seems people are a bit dense:

The size of the actual patch of grass is different at each stadium. So Old Trafford might have more grass than here, and we might have more than at the Britannia. I've not gone around measuring PL pitches to be sure.

The markings that define the pitch (the bit of grass you can actually play on) are a set size by the FA. Before teams could set it themselves within limits. Stoke tended to move their touchlines in a bit against a few teams, including us. Now they can't. It's one size for all. One would assume at smaller stadia, the touchlines are very close to the advertising hoardings, whilst larger stadia have more room around the edges. But the actual pitch dimensions in which the ball is in play are the same everywhere.

Everyone comprehend now?

Ed, FSG have also had to agree to build a new Hotel at Anfield, something that seems to have been missed on here probably due to the hysteria about naming rights.
I was wondering if this is also included in the £152m quoted ( a strange figure ) or do you believe this to be an additional expence?
Also given that so many of our national sporting events are sponsored by companies, is it against the rules for us to not just have Sponsors for Anfield, as opposed to a naming deal? After all it is an iconic sporting venue as opposed to a new build. {Ed002's Note - I would imagine the hotel would be a separate matter.}

Liverpool do not have to build a hotel. The hotel is being built by the housing association which negates the 'right to light' for residential properties which has held up the re development of Anfield.

150 million for 15,000 extra seats seems a lot of money , isnt this half of what the projection for a new stadium would have cost.

Housing Associations do not get involved in building hotels. What complete nonsense.

All they have to do is make £1000 pound per seat and they,ve got their money back, then the rest is pennies in the pocket ;)

Isnt it 10k per seat

£150,000 per seat.

However, new corporate facilities will make the big cash.

Maths is obviously NOT your strong point!
1000 pound a seat??
Computer says NO

Lyndon

You might want to get a calculator fella, you've only got us to £15m.....
We would need £10k per seat to just draw even

Sums out there fella - 15 mill will be made not 150

The redevelopment of Anfield:
The question I would ask is "should Liverpool City council be involved in this at all". Let's face facts; Liverpool fc are American owned and once the ground is redevelopment to 60,000, any additional profits will go straight back to the USA, not to the city of Liverpool. The American owners seem to want to redevelop without much outlay from them. They want council money and ground naming rights to pay for it. There really should be an independent inquiry into the council's involvement this project. The function of the city council is that they have a responsibility to everyone within their boundaries, individuals and business alike, particularly when it comes to spending vast amounts of money; there bias towards those at Anfield is quite breath taking. I thought the council could have at least tried to assist the city's only British owned club to redevelop there ground, but that obviously a step to far for them and would never be in there thinking. Just to add there are also other areas of Liverpool that as just a deprived and in need of redevelopment, what's the council doing for them {Ed002's Note - You have perhaps not noticed where the ground is located, who needs to approve planning, and who is responsible for the development of the surrounding area.}

Whilst I can see that your not happy been a council tax payer in Liverpool and not supporting Lfc, I think it may be worth going onto our official website and reading the interview fron Ian Ayre today.
Liverpool are a major cause of employment in that area and they hope the increased size of the ground will increase that, the Hotel they will be building is also part of a much bigger plan to improve facilities and the living standards of the local people.
A succesfull club boosts the City's image globaly and helps increase tourism and therefore investment.
Whilst there will be huge investment from the council, they will also recieve a lot of American investment to.
I currently live in Portsmouth, and I wish to God the same would happen there, and before people start moaning about our owners, have a look at Portsmouths.

I heard that the council gave a grant of 25 million so long as the surrounding area is improved including the hotel.

When I win the euro millions I will bid for the naming rights ANFIELD 96 is my call my red brothers
Paisley's genius

I think every liverpool captain from next season should wear a number 96 on his shirt as his squad number.red mick tag

Yep, like it. But feel you will need 5-6 roll overs lol

The number 96 shirt should be retired like Bayern have retired the number 12 shirt for the fans.

Shane long will be a Liverpool player maybe in January but more likely in the summer.

Shane long is amazing and if he joins he could be the bergkamp or zola, he would win the league he is that good.

15 Oct 2012 17:42:29
I trust the first reply is a parody of the hyperbole about some signings.

Shane Long is only that good if you go in and edit his stats on FIFA.

- Something Red -

I still would have gone for Shane long over Carroll at the time,maybe he is not world class but hard working & mobile more in the Liverpool mould,better vfm as well

I like long. He probably would not be that expensive and from what I've seen he is exceptionally fast.

Ed I remember ed02 saying that if the club redevelop anfield the naming rights could be up for grabs.Ed is this still the case and if it is then the money for the redevelopment will come from naming rights.And that would mean the club won't have to borrow the money for redevelopment so no debt.MATTYLFC {Ed002's Note - I would expect that selling naming rights might well still happen.}

Theoretically ed how much money could we get? and What is the highest value any club ever got for naming rights?
Andrew {Ed002's Note - I really don't think there is any benefit in such discussion.}

See Yesil scored three for the German under 19s over the international break
C'mon BR give the lad the break he deserves in our first team
So much better than Borini

Fair enough about giving Yesil a chance. But lay off Borini when he's inured. Yesil will find it a tad harder in the Prem then the age level he's playing at.
JohnBoy

Yesil will find it harder than u19 to score in epl,but i would put any money on it that he do alot better than borini and defo score some goals we got to try this lad sooner rather than later and for me,we got the perfect game coming up in reading come on br get him in there.rd

And when he doesn't do better, what then, you're going to be on his back as well. Ridiculous, give Borini a break, he will come good.

15 Oct 2012 15:32:47
1 how long will it take to redevelop anfield and will it effect our home games.
2 how many ppl are on the waiting list? {Ed002's Note - I suspect it will be two years befor work starts and I would expect it to take two summers (abbout 16 months) to complete. I would expect capacity to be reduced for a while given the nature of the work.}

Gate prices will increase to cover the reduction in capacity whilst work is done to the ground.
Apparently one of the companies interested in the naming rights is Wonga! At least we might get a loan from them, to buy a striker or two!!

Wonga ?
They already have a deal in place (or about to finalise) with Newcastle ..

Anfield is the "spiritual home" of the club.
So why would FSG even contemplate renaming?

redman

Like it or not we've got to move with the times.And that's just a weak asse excuse to have a go at FSG when who ever was running the club would do the exact same things with the naming rights. If its going to the common goal of helping us get back to the top then so be it. Attitudes like yours will see us stuck in the doldrums and being overtaken by every club in the top flight.

Would playing in purple bring in more money? No, so your reply make no sense what so ever!

MR EM

The new owner at cardiff did {Ed001's Note - because they played in blue and red is lucky in Chinese, hence why they give money in red envelopes.}

Have a little look what has happened at Cardiff... New ground, and now they play in red instead of blue.!

Phooey {Ed001's Note - not going to happen to Liverpool, it was an ownership issue, they wanted red as it is lucky. We are already red. People just make up stupid things to whinge about!}

It would if Ribena were sponsoring us to play in purple. ;-)

Selling naming rights is our only option.If you want a redevelopment of the stadium its a small price to pay. The guy who sad get rid of BR what a muppet you don't have a clue. I think the history along with 15,000 to 20,000 extra fans would be great. I would love to keep anfield in the title but i guess its company who buy the rights who decide. I think if we can raise 80-100 million for rights the rest could be paid over a number of years still alowing us to be competitive in the transfer market.

Red raj

Naming rights don't necessarliy have to be for the stadium - it could be for the stand(s)
Digger

The money is in the stadium name though, as it is repeated so often in the media i.e. get the sponsors name out there. While I understand the fear factor in loosing Anfield as our home name, it will always be Anfield and the benefits outway the costs in my eyes.

hi, gr8 site as always,,just wondering i no were linked with players such as llorente , darren bent, villa etc(which i can see barca grabbing llorente) but it seems chelsea mite be going for falcao or cavani in january, with the system chelsea play 4-2-3-1 were does this leave torres? surely chelsea would want some income back on him,, do you think rodgers would consider a bid for torres? maybe between the 15-20 million mark, cause saurez was bought to partner torres after all,, maybe with new management and backroom staff do you think torres would want a return? and me as a fan would definately welcome him back..

your thoughts please ed {Ed002's Note - I really don't see Torres returning to Liverpol in January.}

I as wondering how long it would take before the Torres topic would start recirculating...

Question eds? Why is Ian Ayre still with us? Does it look like he's going to be with us till the Jan transfer window? Thanks

FILIPINORED
YNWA {Ed001's Note - and beyond.}

Ian Ayre worries me - he's one comment away from a complete gaff! I don't know if he is just a yes man for FSG that's why he is still in a position he had no right nor experience to be in.

I hope FSG bring someone in to replace him especially as we look to re-develop Anfield whilst trying to re-build the squad into a top 4 challenger.

I can see more problems with transfers in January if he isn't taken out of the loop.

15 Oct 2012 12:59:01
Best idea-STAY at Anfield. World economy shows no sign of long term growth. Footballs reached its peak in terms of ticket pricing. But on other hand if quarter of our waiting list takes up their season ticket option, plus day trippers and tourists we'll fill that stadia rather than(as some will have)empty seats. We will retain our spiritual home and keep the big night intimidation with fans close to pitch. I hope fans don't end up kicking off if we sell naming rights, after all we'll(and other fans) still know it as and call it Anfield. And its small price to pay to compete and stay where we are.Also at the end of any naming rights term, can always revert back like Geordies did if we wanted to

Goo post , the naming rights wont change the name of the kop or the anfield road end , they will still stay the same , plus the anny rd end should be a very good boost as it will be like having 2 kops , so it will only help the atmosphere

And put the away fans right at the top of it, just like at Barca and Newcastle.

Leave the home fans pich side, to cheer the red men on..

Phooey

15 Oct 2012 11:35:21
Fantastic news re stadium development. This is a win win. We remain in our home and don't move to a morgue stadium like the Emirates. 60,000+ capacity with increased corporate hospitality is likely to generate an extra 20-30m a season and this will come in very handy for team strengthening and will more than double the current transfer budget. I suspect that it is inevitable that as part of this project Anfield's naming rights will be sold for a period of time. Whilst Tio us supporters Anfield will always be known as Anfield, I believe we should embrace a naming rights sale. Given Anfield's history a sale of its naming rights will be an easy task for FSG and will generate a large sponsorship which will meet a very large proportion of the redevelopment costs. This makes commercial sense as the income generated form naming rights could service or pay off the development loan and leave the club free to immediately reinvest the increased income from the increased stadium capacity into the squad. Just imagine Anfield on a European night but with an extra 15,000 supporters giving their all!! Reality Red

15 Oct 2012 12:30:27
It will be great to get more people into Anfield but the atmosphere needs to change, it is c**p at the moment. The last home match was like being at the Emirates.

Anfield re-developed is the best possible outcome

Moving away from our spiritual home would be a disaster.

The only Decision FSG have got right so far.

Hope FSG make another correct decision quite soon and get rid of BR

Sour Puss {Ed023's Note - A good post ruined by your last comment}

15 Oct 2012 12:41:31
nail and head. If we wana stay at Anfield and i do(believe most do)you have to give somewhere and i agree with poster-if its naming rights so be it.We HAVE to be alble to compete financially. We'd all still call it Anfield anyhow. And look at Geordies-can always drop a named contract at end've its term

Morgue stadium like the emirates its obvious you havent been Anfield lately its worse than a morgue lad.

I don't think we have an option other than selling the naming rights. The £150m spend would been to be financed and therefore, including interest payments, it'll take the best part of a decade to pay off if all the extra revenue generated went to pay that off.

YES BUT IT WONT BE ANFIELD,NO TO RENAMING!!

ST JAMES PARK NOW SPORTS DIRECT ITS A JOKE! {Ed023's Note - Renaming is irrelevant IMO. Hypothetically if we were to keep the name 'Anfield' but as a result the transfer budget took a hit for a few years, would you be happy?

I would much prefer some outside naming rights and let us be competitive in the market if that were to be the case}

Realistically the ground will still be called Anfield and possible naming rights of the new stands to be built ie Coca Cola Stand not Main Stand good option

And also, St James' Park is no long the Sports Direct Arena.

Ash

There's alternatives, such as ie. Coca-cola Stadium at Anfield".. It's worked for others.

Waa waa was. Get with not only the programme but with football in the 21st century. Renaming ain't the biggest deal in the whole world, I'll still call it Anfield. Why are some happy for it to be redeveloped but crying over a name change that will be beneficial to Liverpool FC? So should we leave Anfield the way it is just to preserve the memories or do what we're doing and move with the times. I know what I want and I reckon its the best for us all, even if some just use it as a platform to spout their anti FSG crud. Is it any wonder we fell so far behind off the pitch with these attitudes. Reckon cavemen would be more progressive then some on here.

Following on from the stadium announcement, couple of questions:
1- how come it is costing 150mil to redevelop, when a new one was est at 350mil. Seems a bit excessive to me considering a complete rebuild is just over twice this cost.
2- How is this to be financed, will the club have to finance a debt package?
3- does this now mean we will be even less competitive on the transfer front since we need to earmark the money for the build

Very valid questions and the answers are obvious going by past experiences

Anfield will have to be renamed and naming rights sold

At least some of the debt will go on the club in the medium term

Our transfer Kitty will suffer in the short to medium term at least and BR will have to make do with the reserves and cheap purchases

FSG see this as a way to make LFC more attractive to a future buyer and they don't really care about our success or lack of it over the next years its all about dressing up LFC to make them more atttractive to a potential suitor and a pay day for FSG

1. There are construction difficulties that you have with dealing with 'chnaging' an exitsing building that are not present with a new build. A new build you have a blank canvas and can therefore can an advantage in some ways.

2. Naming rights will be likely to help with costs. The losses from disruption whilst being built cannot be discounted too.

3. If Naming rights cover the costs then hopefully the transfer budget will remain the same.

Just my thoughts on those questions.

Thomas

'even less competitive in the transfer market'. My god, one would think Liverpool haven't spent a penny over the years. Made me laugh that one.

So we are to rebuild half of the stadium (2 stands out of the 4) - yet you are questioning why it is costing half or nearly half of a complete new build.

Am I missing something??

2 stands cost £150m (roughly)
4 stands (ie new stadium) cost £300m roughly

It plain to see why redevelopment is half the cost!!!

FFP regulations disregards investment in stadia, therefore this will not effect our transfer spending per FFP rules...

Actually i was thinking the stands would have been added to rather than building from scratch. To add 15k seats i would have imagined buiding a further tier, or something similar so that we would not need a total re-build on 2 fronts. There is really no need to be so cocky.

Thomas thanks for the reply, i was thinking along the same lines that FSG were not in it for the long haul.

And as for the persopn having a laugh, how competitive are we in the market? we can't even get a striker on the last day of the window when it was obvious to all that even with carroll we needed backup. We are relying on the youth which is fine as they seem to be holding their own, but imagine if they didn't. We such a thin squad it is frightening. We have spent money, but that looks to be a one off when kenny spent all that cash.

BALE DIVE REIGNITES SUAREZ DIVING ROW!!

great news headline seems like suarez is to blame for every act of simulation anywhere #letsallblamesuarez

Eds please bar hash tags before every ones sticking em on their post. {Ed001's Note - I very nearly just deleted the post because of it, I hate them. I am happy to just delete posts for using them.}

Am an Everton supporter and i think the media are treating suarez really bad and seem to be picking on him a bit, yes he might go down in the box a bit easy but so do loads of players ie Bale, Young, Hazard, Arteta and lots of other players but you dont see there names plasted all over the papers for cheating. Me myself i am against diving but to single out 1 player is wrong and i dont care who he plays for its wrong. Kev

I think this has more to do with Bale believing he can outdo the the Austrian Baumgartner who has just achieved a jump of 29 miles. He should be able to dive further in the next Arsenal derby!

15 Oct 2012 16:43:51
You that 'Me Myself I' person, remove Hazard from ur list, he had over three legitimate penalties not given recently and u wouldn't see him reacting the way Suarez does. Hazard is simply being tricky and explodes with pace, so he very naturally can easily be brought down.

Rumour going round that we are in for Stefan Kießling in January. I would rather have him over Llorente and he has shown consistent goal scoring prowess. The only problem might be the age of the player. But if we went for Dempsey, I can't see us not going for him.

Not sure which ED it was, but i recall reading some stadium news on here. It followed the same plans as what's being discussed in the press now - Regenerating the area etc.

Hi Eds and fellow reds,
This post is going to be a different one to all the negativity that has been surrounding this site recently. I just wanted to share something with you all that many of you may judge but hopefully not.
I'm 21 and have been a red for as long as i can remember and for the past 7 years i've suffered with mental health problems. Life has been very dark for so many reasons but throughout it all, Liverpool F.C has been a huge part of helping me cope.
When i've had very low points, the only thing that's kept me going has been this football club. The love i feel and many others feel for this club is special. The passion, the excitement and even the disappointment gives you a sense of importance that is next to none.
Some of my greatest days have been watching the reds. Only being young, the biggest of them all for me was Instanbul. It was a final which compares to no other and at the time I was in hospital. I can remember watching it on the T.V feeling proud and happy. Despite the half-time result seeing all of us singing You'll Never Walk Alone was unbelievable and it gave me some inspiration. Then when we turned it around and it gave me the biggest lift anyone could imagine. I thought that even if i don't have any real family, i still have my Liverpool F.C family. Because that's what we are, we're a family. We all have a connection because we love this club. We are fans like no other and we'll support our club all the way.
Right now we aren't where we should be but one day we will get back there just as i'm managing to manage my health. It's a working progress but we will get there. We all have to have faith and cheer our lads on as this club is our greatest passion. We are Liverpool F.C and let's never forget that.
So i just want to thank you all and to thank Liverpool F.C for always being there when i've needed them. It's time our club start turning it around and with Brendan Rogers, this is our start.
Also a lot of credit goes to you Eds for this brilliant site.
Thanks again,
Dale B

U made me cry dude.u wl definitely get well soon.cheers from india

Good luck to you lad and keep the faith.
Just remember that the majority of the negative comments come from Trolls of clubs who are jealous of our great club.

Chris in Tamworth

Every week or twice a week I put my LFC shirt and wait to see my beloved LFC play. Even watching them on tv makes me feel closer to them and just like you I have been through a very rough patch in my life and only LFC was there to give me hope.There are days when we are disappointed by the result but always come back stronger and with hope in my heart to watch the reds again just like our great club

hi eds i see yesil scored few more goals this week surely its time to throw this lad in,he has been at the club training with team since September he is same age owen was "he could be the answer"rd

He could be the answer if the question was which young unproven striker can we pin our hopes on after FSG's penny pinching in the transfer market?

Decision today to be released on the future of anfield looks like owners have decided to stay and rebuild. Am hoping for a speedy start on the on the rebuild.

Perhaps the details may provide some of the moaners with an clue about why it has taken so long to come up with the right decision.

Perhaps the moaners will relax a bit and appreciate that the owners aren't simply here to penny pinch. A £152m investment in anfield is sizeable.

Of course, listen to the uproar if this is to be funded by naming rights...

Hello,
I think Liverpool should go for Baumgartner.

I thought it was Gareth Bale in a space suit.

Nope just Suarez!

No if it was bale he wouldn't of landed on his feet...

You should sign your post at the end not the beginning, and just to correct you it is spelt Dope not Nope!

Why are you lot constantly spouting off about great players you's are going to sign? You are now a mid table club with now chance of getting into the champions any time soon, so why would most of these players sign for you?

Ya's used to call yourself the best club in the world, then it was the best in europe then the best in england, now your not even the best side in your own city! thats how far youve fallen, so get used to it!! {Ed063's Note - Which club do you support kind sir?}

A stunning critique of Liverpool's recent drop in form by a highly informed and cerebral fan of another team. He must be a Stoke supporter.

cozinoz {Ed063's Note - Haha. I like you}

You mad bro?

Liverpool is a massive club. Yes we don't have current squad to compete but which planet your staying sir from when players are playing for club they don't give a sh*t for which club they play they just play for £££ if liverpool starts paying high wages they would run necked to play for us its all about £££. The days are gone players playing for big club or small club. Now days players only wants to play for ££££££

Now days players only wants to play for money and manrubbishy is the big example playing championship to premier league winners

Heard that a couple of players could be on there way out in January and money will be available to Rodgers to buy a striker.
Think if we can hang on in there and scrap and stay around the top 6 and bring in a couple of players in January we can really push for the top 4. One thing that's bugging me though, i really cringe when Rodgers talks he chats a lot of tripe doesn't he haha, just want him to get on with his job and get results.

Mate forget top4 if we finish top8 its a achievment. I can't see us finishing in top4 for few seasons if Rodgers is our manager. Reason is league is getting tougher and tougher where as we are getting weaker and weaker

Chelsea
Manchester city
Manchester united
Arsenal
Spurs

These teams are way ahead and have got money/experience compare to Rodgers/liverpool. Every year gape is getting wider and wider. If we try hard maybe can take spurs place but to break in top4 is imposible.
Just look at teams and compare ourselves you will get the anwer

Chelsea have got resources and owner who can do anything to achieve his goal compare to liverpool or john W henry

Manchester city same like chelsea have got unlimited resources from championship team(a few years back)to premier league champions compare to liverpool who are still waiting for first premier league trophy in more than 20 years

Manchester united have got very experience manager who knows premier league in and out and have got resources compare to rodgers or liverpool and haven't finish below third since Barclays premier league era

Arsenal same like united have got very clever and experience manager who haven't finished out of top4 and knows our league in and out despite spending very little compare to rivals still manages to finish in top4 coz of his experience in english football.

Now look at liverpool have got very little resources compare to our rivals and have got young manager with very little experience managing in highest level at the same time have got owners who are happy to finish midtable rather then spend to achieve champions league footy compare to our rivals. Rodgers have one of the difficult job in world football. Compare to our rivals
