Watching the Tony Bellow fight. Good to see that as part of his kit as he walked to the ring was a very prominent 'JFT 96'

Well don't Tony. Good luck.

Regarding the goalkeeping situation for Monday night, I think Mignolet must come back. I've got nothing against Karius and really hope that he can become a truly great keeper for Liverpool for many years to come. However, I believe that to play him against Utd could be s step too early and could even hinder his development if something goes wrong.

When we signed him I'd never heard of him and had certainly never seen him play. So I was looking forward to seeing him play pre-season to judge for myself. I have seen many posters on here, who have probably also never seen him play, making out that he is the answer to all our problems.

In pre-season, he was hardly tested but 3 incidents stood out. One, he let a back pass roll under his foot and had to hurriedly dive on the ball to prevent a goal. Two, the first cross he faced, he flapped at it and got nowhere near the ball. Three, he came out for another cross, punched Lovren in the head and broke his hand. When he got his chance in the Premiership, he looked a bag of nerves, still flapping at crosses and hardly inspiring confidence. I also read posts on here trying to justify his place by saying his kicking was an improvement on Mignolet. I saw one miskick barely make the centre circle as it bounced along the ground. A few others went out of touch and when he was put under pressure with the ball at his feet, he looked even dodgier than Mignolet.

If he plays on Monday. Mourinho will target him for sure. I stress once again that I am not trying to get at Karius, it's just that I cannot believe the number of posters on here pushing his claims when they have hardly seen him play.

I don't know what you mean by targeting Migs. With Zlatan in the side UTD will lump the ball to him without a doubt.

16 Oct 2016 00:03:42
You have a solid arguement but Karius can't be any worse than Migs imo and needs the experience, every keeper makes mistakes, everybody does. he deserves his chance this lad in my opinion, i'd be more worried if migs was on.

16 Oct 2016 01:36:51
De Gea's first season in the prem was awful and now he's probably the best keeper in the league. Give Karius a break cause sometimes it can take players time to adjust even keepers.

16 Oct 2016 02:28:41
I agree with kloppometor. We all want Karius to do well but Migs has more experience under his belt which could be vitally important vs Utd.

16 Oct 2016 09:02:56
Was just about to say the same about de gea. now he is one of the best in the world. also surely dropping karius would affect his confidence. u talk of experience but migs has been in the prem how many years now and is still a liability. he pulls off some great saves without doubt but it's the unforced errors which to me are his downfall. a steady run of games will build karius confidence and if we keep on winning then him and the whole teams will just increase.

16 Oct 2016 09:58:12
Hahahaha you guys . hahaha haaaaa.

16 Oct 2016 11:59:03
Klopp did not sign Karius to be his number one goalkeeper so he could wrap him in cotton wool away from the pressure of being an LFC keeper and omit him from the starting 11 against United. With all due respect, that is just absurd. If you want Karius to develop, then denying him the experience of an intense, high octane fixture is just stupid.

15 Oct 2016 22:07:38
Been some great goals scored against Man U, Torres, Gerrard but my favourite has to be Riise's left footed rocket 🚀
Fingers crossed we see some more Monday night.

Yeah one of my favourites too.

16 Oct 2016 00:51:42
Nah, has to be early SG goal when fowler knocks it down to him and he lashes it from 25.

16 Oct 2016 01:38:30
Danny murphy's close range chip over Barthez.

16 Oct 2016 03:25:12
fowlers 2 goals at old Trafford takes some beating.

16 Oct 2016 04:07:46
Aurelio's free kick for me!

16 Oct 2016 07:32:31
Dossena's was something of beauty for more reasons then one.

16 Oct 2016 10:03:03
Every goal against the mancs is a treasure love everyone.

Feels like 2013/ 14 season right now just being so excited for every game. Klopp has brought such a great atmosphere to the club.

15 Oct 2016 22:10:57
We have now a vastly superor manager in Klopp compared to Brendan Rodgers who has built a balanced squad of work orientated players who all have potential.

I just hope they can keep up the intense pace for the season.

When Rodgers came in he belittled Kennys squad at every chance while promoting himself.

He then spent million s on players and ended up in aroundthe same league position as Kenny who won the league cup, got to the final of the fa cup and hit every goal post, crossbar possible instead of scoring in the prem.

I hope and wish Jurgen success as the fans deserve it but I CAN'T HELP THINKING THAT WE MISSED A TRICK by sacking Kenny after 1 year.
Rodgers got way longer and win less.

15 Oct 2016 23:25:29
No we didn't Dermot get a grip.

16 Oct 2016 00:06:49
tbh i'd of rather kept with Kenny then downgrade to Rodgers, but there you go these things happen. we now have Klopp who I wouldn't swap for anyone.

16 Oct 2016 17:45:46
Sorry the natural.
But No.

If the atmosphere at Anfield is as good, or even better than the Dortmund game, we're in for some night on Monday.

We could go top on Monday lads.

15 Oct 2016 17:01:51
We WILL go top on Monday lads😉😎.

15 Oct 2016 17:12:05
Yep we just got to win by 4 clear goals.

15 Oct 2016 17:16:09
3 goals stoneage. I think we're more than capable of that.

15 Oct 2016 17:53:10
Shh don't jinx it lads.

15 Oct 2016 18:35:11
I don't want to be joint top. I want to be top! But yes, Liddelland. I'll shut up now.

15 Oct 2016 18:46:01
Three points will definitely do for me nicely, thank you.

15 Oct 2016 19:15:33
Pep has been dismistifyed. It now up to Klop to ginger my boys and the Kop to do the needful. You Never Walk Alone. I say this without any doubt or reservation.

15 Oct 2016 20:13:56
And lasses.

15 Oct 2016 20:22:50
I would take one nil now.

15 Oct 2016 20:39:31
Dont care what score it is just stick up the mancs!

15 Oct 2016 20:43:23
As long as we don't get embarrassed by the mancs i am happy.

15 Oct 2016 20:22:50
I would take one nil now.

15 Oct 2016 23:37:29
Me too. A 93rd minute dubious penalty.

16 Oct 2016 00:08:04
funny how guardiola is been figured out isn't it, top manager my backside, i find it amusing.

15 Oct 2016 11:48:35
Great to Have Joe Gomez back, with Klopp as manager I feel players coming back from injury have a better chance of staying fit! not being rushed and breaking down. Ings I think will start coming back into match day squads soon too.

Hi all Ed's and Red's hope it's ok if I share this with you guys.
I posted in June about my-mother-in law loosing her brave but short battle against lung cancer and she was only 60.She was a real Dub originally from the inner city then moved out to Lucan. Anyway now it's my mother to suffer the same at 82 such is life lads. Unfortunately there has been a family row going on and as a result myself and my other brother haven't seen her as much as we should have but let's just say that there were other family members in her ear so we never stood a chance. She's in hospital now but refuses to see us even though she knows she's quite ill. We may not even make up but I've a family of my own so I can't let it destroy me and I also know the before this fall out I minded her like a baby but that's all forgotten about now. Anyway there's not much I can do just get on with things and hope she sees my before the end, I'll let you know.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Barry, I am sorry to hear that you have found yourself in this difficult situation and that you have not been able to have the level contact that you would have liked with your mother. I would hope that someone with access to her can persuade her to see both you and your brother whilst she is able to. Regardless, I hope she can begin her onward jouney, to wherever that may be, without needing to suffer. If she is a believer then I hope that Gauranga, Moses, Gautama Buddha, Jesus, Allah or whomever provides safe passage.}

15 Oct 2016 10:53:02
Really sorry to hear of your situation mate, not nice at all. As the saying goes, life's too short. I hope you get things sorted soon mate. YNWA.

15 Oct 2016 11:55:43
Really sorry to hear all of that Barry. Family arguments are tough, i've seen it within my family and my partners family, and no one is ever really happy with how it plays out.

I hope with all my heart that you can reconcile with your mother, and be there for her in what will be difficult times. Whether it pans out like that or not, be strong, make everyone aware that you want to be there for her, and send out positive thoughts for her, whether you're with her or not.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say we're here for you if you need it, keep your chin up dude.

15 Oct 2016 13:50:56
Really sorry to hear that Barry, all our thoughts are with you. I hope you get chance to speak to her but if unfortunately you don't, I'm glad to hear that you truly know you done a lot for her while you could and whether it be realisation before or after, she knows that as well.

15 Oct 2016 15:02:30
I find it hard to talk about all this as I have a friend going through exactly the same disease but half your mums age.
All I can say is YNWA Barry.

15 Oct 2016 15:34:13
Thank you so much for all your posts it means a lot.

15 Oct 2016 15:49:23
Never give up Barry. Live with the knowledge it's not you and be in thought it is others doing this and not your Mum.
I wish you good luck in connecting with your mum again and I hope that Mum is okay

YNWA.

15 Oct 2016 18:48:55
May the good Lord be with you and your family.

15 Oct 2016 19:39:17
Its a tough one barry . Family arguments especially where illness is concerned, is really hard. I hope you and yours come through this together. Chin up redman.

15 Oct 2016 20:03:23
Good luck I hope it all works out for the best stay strong.

15 Oct 2016 23:34:21
So sorry to hear this Barry. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

16 Oct 2016 00:00:31
It puts everything in perspective.

Life and relationships are precious.

I hope you and your family find a way through this as when the person dies all that's left is helpless regret. .

{Ed003's Note - I rarely edit liverpool posts never mind comment but on this I have to - Barry I echo 002's words and wish you all the strength you need,I'm not writing this for sympathy and don't want it but in the last few months I lost gran and mum in a matter of days and relationships between family were let's say difficult but through this and lots of people 'backing down' on previous rows (when I was just a child) I'm now friends with cousins,2nd cousins and their kids and we are all getting together soon to celebrate an important birthday as a family,It can be done.
I say this with tears in my eyes,you really must try at least - god bless you all and chin up.}

Theres nothing left afterwards only an emptiness.

Gutted we're not playing today, having to wait until Monday seems ages away.

Predictions?

I'm going with 3-1. I think with our attacking options we'll put a few past them, I really can't see them doing the same to us but it's one of them ggames you never know what's going to happen.

If we lose we lose, we concentrate on the next game but I don't believe we will. To be totally honest if we got a draw I'd be alright with that as well. But this at Anfield for me has 3 points for us written all over it.

2 Things I'm dreading should we lose : -

1. The amount of utd fans I know who I've tried to wind up for the past couple of weeks by sayingg they've had it. my life won't be worth living. I should of kept my mouth shut to be fair lol.

2. Negativity on here, we go and beat Swansea (probs one of the best wins all season) and the amount of negativity was unreal, if we lose to utd can you imagine?

I'm hoping Karius starts, has anything been confirmed about him or migs for the game yet? not seen anything myself. Karius let's be honest is due a real challenge and I think this is where we will see what he's capable of.

Let's get behind the team and send utd back to their ancestors by slaughtering them!

15 Oct 2016 15:28:20
I'm not usually one who pays much attention to other teams, but 'oh for City, Spurs and Arsenal to drop points today and us to beat Man Utd 4-0 on Monday to go top' 😎.

15 Oct 2016 16:51:27
Dude when we beat you better believe I will personally come here to rub your nose in it. However have been playing well and you are at home under the lights I understand why you are a bit overconfident. I just hope all who attend the game shun violence and show respect to Hillsborough and Munich.

15 Oct 2016 22:08:41
theyalwaysscore - Absolutely mate, now that's been a football fan, not a divvy unlike so many people. No matter what, it's only football and in regards to both Hillsborough and Munich it's about respect.

16 Oct 2016 00:18:45
Do liverpool fans post on the United page ed's

The sheer arrogance of coming back to rub our noses in it. They really do seem obsessed, would it not be better to concentrate on their own team lol

Fair comments on the respect regarding the abuse though.

{Ed007's Note - There's plenty of Liverpool fans post on the Utd page. It peaks around July/August with posts about how this year is Liverpool's year and then usually fades around Christmas time for some peculiar reason.}

16 Oct 2016 17:41:30
Not any more.

I'm glad to say.

15 Oct 2016 09:50:15
Any of eds or posters can tell me What is your take of Yan Dhanda. Being of Indian origin myself i want to know if the guy has bright future with us or somewhere. What does the coaches say about him. Any insight would be helpful.

Thank You.
