So Eds, I don't have much knowledge of the La Liga apart from Barcelona and the two Madrids, so what are Villareal actually like If you know?

Believable5 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - They are like green with purple flashes. They have very tall hair and always wear odd shoes. The men wear their underpants backwards and the women all wax the soles of their feet. Until the age of four all children hop around on their left feet to strengthen the muscles.}

16 Apr 2016 20:45:27
Alrighty then.

16 Apr 2016 21:07:10
They also possess a big, bright yellow submarine marauding the depths of the seven seas, seeking world domination.

16 Apr 2016 23:46:41
Theyve done well this season when they have played both Madrid teams and Barca. I think they beat beat Athletico twice, Barcelona once and a draw and I think they drew with Madrid (haven't played them twice in league yet) . Defensively a good unit, it won't be a walk over that's for sure.

Stewart isn't registered for Europa league but I think Chiravella is. So with Can and Henderson definitely out of the semi finals, we have Allen, Llalanna, Milner, Lucas and Chiravella for centre midfield that is. I'm quietly confident but I'm not banking on it just yet.

16 Apr 2016 22:54:59
Typical ed002 response. Someone asks for your opinion on a club they don't know much about because they respect your knowledge and you take the ****. This is why people give you **** sometimes. If you don't know or can't be bothered you could of just said so or not posted the question at all. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the hard work you put into this site and always look forward to your long reports what the club is up to, plus your extensive knowledge on how football clubs and transfers work is always interesting, but responses like that just come across as arrogant.

{Ed002's Note - No problem. You will clearly be pleased that I will simply delete a lot more posts from now on. We are stuck with the white trash pond life like you. I am sure everyone else will be more than happy with you whining and bitching.}

17 Apr 2016 02:06:35
Whilst it's didn't fully answer the question eds response was pretty damn funny.

17 Apr 2016 04:08:42
Westwood666

Can we not have a bit of sarcasm these days.

Lets jump of your big white horse and chill. This is the Liverpool BANTER site!

17 Apr 2016 04:33:27
Westwood lighten up a little will you, ed2 was just having a laugh.

17 Apr 2016 08:16:48
It seems that despite the years of ed02 replying in his own inimitable style to hilarious effect at times and whose footballin knowledge has made this site so special, people still feel they can tell her what to say.

I would suggest if you don't like what he has to say simply use yer thumb and scroll past her responses or grow a pair. Whichever suits you!

17 Apr 2016 09:06:37
This site is becoming more about slaughtering the people that follow it than actually interesting / funny insight. Calm it down lads and lassies!

17 Apr 2016 09:17:28
How can people complain about the replies? Get a sense of humour for Christ sake. The majority of us appreciate what you do eds, even if some of us can't take a joke.

17 Apr 2016 09:34:46
It almost seems sometimes that posters on here forget they can use the rest of the internet for finding things out.

As seen on this thread, if someone knows info, and can be arsed typing it, they will. It doesn't need Ed002 or Ed001 to give a definitive answer every time, because if it did, there would be little or no discussion.

Plus, let's not forget, we don't see the abuse, hatred, and the frustrating text-speak, incomprehensible nonsense that the eds have to weed out every day. if i was in that position, i'd want to have a little fun with my replies to the posts that do get through, just to make the day a little more entertaining for myself.

17 Apr 2016 11:18:51
The thing is, how do you sensibly answer such a vague question?
'What are they like'? Does it mean what is their football like? What is their mentality like? What's their manager like? What are their fans like?

It was a humorous reply instead of a spiky reply which is what was probably warranted. Also people need to accept ed002 is not a Liverpool FC fan.

17 Apr 2016 11:55:24
Villareal are a good team.
The live in Spain which is a different country far, far, away.
I know the concept of different countries is a hard one but keep up.
They have a striker called 'Google'. He's scored about 100 goals this season.
Every time he gets the ball, the crowd goes nuts screaming 'Google it' in Spanish.
That's what we have to watch out for.
Very good team.
They will probably arrive in Liverpool in a fleet of ships called the 'Armada' but that tactic doesn't always work against the English.
They were famously defeated before when 'Nelson' played centre forward for Liverpool.
But the 'Google' fellow is the biggest danger.
Look him up on one of those search engines things on this thing the internet thing. Bing. com is a good one for when your head hurts from not knowing something.
Just type 'google it' into bing. Ignore any results about the 'Darwin' awards. They are for a different type of supporter.

17 Apr 2016 08:47:47
I am sure the Eds get bored of the same questions that could be answered by a search on the internet. I have researched them and found out that they play a lot like Leicester based on a Solid defence and like to attack teams. They have been playing well this season and will be a worthy opponent.

16 Apr 2016 17:33:12
Oh you're in for a treat ladies and gents. As far as I'm aware, us regular users are still questioning the identity of Ed02.

I believe I have a significant break through:

{Ed001's Note - no mate. I have no idea which ones he could be referring to and would not like to guess. }

This was taken from the M*n U*d page, where a fan had asked what players Ed02 had been referring too.

Now, not that the gender matters, but we have narrowed it down to ED02 being a male, as ED01 never makes mistakes and clearly refers to ED01 as "he" ;)

Let the hunt for ED02's real identity continue.

Believable2 Unbelievable15

16 Apr 2016 17:43:29
I meant he clearly refers to ED02 as "he".

My excitement in the breakthrough got the better of my typing.

Also, how is this not on the main rumour page ed? It's the biggest rumour of the last few seasons!

{Ed001's Note - because anyone who has been watching will notice that I change between he and she constantly when referring to Ed002. So one instance of he to refer to her means nothing.....}

16 Apr 2016 17:48:03
The path you're going down will only confuse and frighten you.
You don't want to know, only pain awaits you on your quest.

{Ed001's Note - Ed002 is like that X-Man who shape changes. The blue one.}

16 Apr 2016 17:59:33
Why bother just be grateful for their knowledge and this site. I couldn't care if Ed 02 was Alex Ferguson. Always useful and made up we have this forum. If its Jennifer love Hewitt tho Ed02 if u need a place to stay.

16 Apr 2016 18:01:29
Oh ED01 I can't tell if you are saying that to cover your mistake or if I really am fighting a losing battle here : (

Anyhow, are you confident we'll get the win tomorrow?

{Ed001's Note - I never do any kind of predictions mate, they are bad luck!!}

16 Apr 2016 18:17:07
I'm pretty sure ed002 came clean and told us about his life once in a fairly detailed post clarifying he's a guy, unless i imagined it of course.

16 Apr 2016 18:21:32
Raven Ed002.
(X-men character you was referring to)

16 Apr 2016 18:32:14
Edwin2 did say he has a soft spot for a baseball team so probably a dude. Or a chuck that crushes bud light. I also saw the comment about the Midwest. It's true. Stay away we will kill you.

16 Apr 2016 18:35:47
I think you'll find it was Mysique ed002 was referring to Gazza.

16 Apr 2016 19:58:23
It is Mystique you're correct. Originally before Magneto gave her that name. She was known as Raven. Still is named that by Professer X

Any how. Why does it matter what sex Ed002 is and has anybody actually asked to find out?

16 Apr 2016 20:16:32
The gender of ed02 is a concept beyond the scope of our mortal minds.

16 Apr 2016 20:42:05
Raven and Mystique are one and the same.

16 Apr 2016 20:44:55
I'm pretty sure that ed002 is a poster who used to go by the name of sharkey. He's an American who studied in England in the late 60's and has a soft spot for Chelsea. He also spent time in Monaco and has an ex wife who might be a football agent or in sports management. That's what I remember from the last couple of years. Cheers.

16 Apr 2016 21:13:30
I remember sharkey. Don't think it's ed002 though.

16 Apr 2016 22:57:06
Guys, I have tried this before-Ed001 is right of course, and we will never know the gender. But somehow I think this all relates to a conspiracy with Chelsea. Hmmmm.

16 Apr 2016 23:41:24
I've heard from a close source that ed2 is actually a hermaphrodite and doesn't recognise any gender per say.

16 Apr 2016 22:49:43
Does ed02 wear body paint?

{Ed001's Note - no, she just decides what colour she wants to be today and we all see him as that colour.}

17 Apr 2016 04:49:09
I've heard rumours that ed002 is actually just a highly intelligent Oyster.

17 Apr 2016 05:50:34
Bruce/ Ciatlyn Jenner is that you?

17 Apr 2016 06:19:53
The eds are neither male nor female they a hermafradites (spelling) there gender changes from day to day depending. on mood weather etc. When they get angry at you it is the femanine side having its time of the month.

17 Apr 2016 09:48:31
I believe that Ed002 came into being during experiments with the large hadron collide. There it's my guess that that Ed002 is in fact a Hicks/ Bosun particle and holds all knowledge of the universe.

16 Apr 2016 19:50:21
Raven is Mystiques name Scoot.

{Ed033's Note - Ed002 is a Crimson Midget, Pleasure GELF

16 Apr 2016 15:24:08
Hi eds. There has been a lot of talk about Liverpool getting Gerard to tap up players. Apart from being against regulations, why is a club not allowed to speak to a player about a transfer but can speak to his agent. Does it not amount to the same thing in the long run? Also what happened in the good old days when there were very few players with agents.

Believable0 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - It would be very disruptive for a club to have players contacted directly and very distracting for a club. Would you rather has PSG call Roger Wittmann about whether or not Firmino would be interested in a transfer or would you be happy for them to call Firmino himself to discuss options an hour before the game tomorrow?

If a player does not have an agent the dealings are generally done through the club.}

16 Apr 2016 18:39:50
Eds, does it matter if Gerard was not a club official? I mean can any Liverpool employee talking to another player about certain things be classified as tapping up? A player talking to a player doesn't seem the same as an executive talking to an agent if you see what I mean. Did Liverpool think this was some way of circumventing the tapping up rules, after all Gerrard himself couldn't offer a player a deal could he ( he could obviously convey a message from his bosses though)

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure why you want to make any sort of deal of this, but yes it does matter. If he returns to football in this country he can expect an immediate charge. He and Liverpool were in breach of the rules - the club knew it - maybe he could claim stupidity as a defence. I am sure that could be believable.}

17 Apr 2016 05:08:56
"maybe he could claim stupidity as a defence. I am sure that could be believable"

Hahahahaha 😂😂.

16 Apr 2016 16:44:28
I would just like to point out that Brendan Rodgers was at the memorial at Anfield yesterday. No matter what you think about the man, this shows his class. YNWA BR.

Believable16 Unbelievable14

16 Apr 2016 17:17:56
Completely agree. We are quick, myself included, to get on the guys back, but I'm sure he could have easily done something else but instead had the class to come back to show his support.

JFT96! YNWA.

16 Apr 2016 17:24:39
Of course he was there being a ex manager and all. Whatever about his time as manager and I'm not one of his biggest fans he absolutely respects the club and everyone associated with it especially the fans.

16 Apr 2016 17:50:13
Attending a memorial service doesent represent someone's true feelings. Do you think snubbing an invite to the service would be a good move on Brendan's behalf from a PR perspective? I have no way of knowing Brendan's sentiments on all things LFC but he turned up and for that he deserves our respect.

16 Apr 2016 19:30:24
this is embarrassing. how exactly would we have known if he had snubbed the invite? (if he has been invited that is) . he could have easily decided to not attend especially given the amount of abuse he received recently. i'm 100% sure it hurt him to sit with players he signed especially after thursday, but he swallowed his pride and showed support. show some respect.

{Ed002's Note - Yet again the Liverpool fans have degraded in to complete disrespect for someone who worked hard at the club and is himself being humble and honorable. Simply awful yet again.}

16 Apr 2016 21:13:00
He came to the memorial. So what? Do you want a cookie? We criticize his managerial and coaching acumen, all of which have been deemed to be rank incompetent. Don't really care what he does off the pitch nor his principles as a human being because I'm not allowed to judge him on those fronts. If you wanna respect him, have at it. As for me, don't really care if he came or not and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

{Ed002's Note - This is why anyone going to work for Liverpool as a player or in other role should think twice. The clearly second rate fan base that lacks respect for everything to do with the club. If Mr Rodgers sees this I am sure he will be disappointed. I feel sorry for the likes of him and Mr Dalglish. And I feel sorry for those whose lives were disrupted by that fateful day. I really don't think the fans should be embarrassing the club nor the city in a way you are suggesting.}

16 Apr 2016 22:16:00
Regardless of how Rodgers time at the club ended, he attended to support the families and pay respect to those that lost their lives. Personally I think that shows a man of decency and honour. I honestly don't see why people are criticising him for this? He was part of the club for three years and yes it didn't work out, but that's got nothing to do with his wish to show respect and it shouldn't come into it.

16 Apr 2016 22:30:49
I have to agree with ed02! Everyone who comes to the club manager or players come with the best of intentions and want to do their upmost best for the club. Sadly it didn't work out for them but they tried their best. No one comes to the club and plan to fail. Everybody who has been involved with the club is a part of our history and we should respect them for that. As we are a part of theirs. hence why they still show it and so should we!

16 Apr 2016 23:06:24
Redohio has zero class, always very negative and belittling in his posts. Most likely never kicked a football in his life.

16 Apr 2016 23:07:24
Why would you feel sorry for Rogers Eds 002? He was unfaithful to his wife and made her look silly in the eyes of the world. Surely your sympathies should be Chantelle's elsewhere? The man has no integrity and he has proved it on many occasions. Don't wedding vows mean anything?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure how you think his wife comes in to this. I was sorry for Rodgers for the efforts he has made in respect of the folks who went to a game and were unable to return. Many of the Liverpool fans, if not near all I would have expected to have been supportive. Clearly we have one who isn't at all supportive of his efforts in respect of Hillsborough and now one who wants to take the route of making it about someone else - his wife. Like it or not, I find it truly pitiful that some Liverpool fans act this way.}

16 Apr 2016 23:25:58
No matter who you are or what relativity you have to the club if you turn up to pay your respects and show support to the families you have right to have our respect. YNWA JFT96.

17 Apr 2016 01:29:05
The man has no integrity Eds 002. He turned up to the Hillsborough memorial it's the least that's expected of him being an ex manager. I for one aren't going to fawn over him because attended. I appreciate your opinions Eds 002 and don't always agree with them but I'm always respectful of you. I'd request you show me the same courtesy without the vitriol please.

{Ed002's Note - I absolutely cannot do that over this.}

17 Apr 2016 05:03:52
Guys, seriously? Sure, we were all frustrated during the last year or so of his tenure, however I've never personally believed that he was trying to damage the club intentionally, which is pretty much what he would have had to have done to warrant this degree of hate. I simply think he wasn't the right man, and I wish him well. The point is Brendan turned up and showed support for the families, like we should all be doing, instead of seeing sinister twists in what was an ultimately statement of support! JFT96.

17 Apr 2016 05:09:52
Excuse me but give Ed 002 a break. Sometimes football becomes more than just a game and this time he has shown he does honour the club. Be human and let's appreciate he showed up. Come out of your stupid logic guys.

17 Apr 2016 08:22:02
Agree with Fornax over this, Brendan wound me up as much as anyone but I'm sure it was never his intention to make a mess of things at the end (also let's no forget 13/ 14) and he's a human being come to pay his respects.

Why anyone is even debating whether that's a good thing or his motives (which we can't possibly know an have no reason to question) is frankly embarrassing.

17 Apr 2016 08:30:40
So Friday is about Rodgers is it?
So much irony that we are there to remember those 96 and part of the you'll never walk alone is in remberance to them but yet we're come on here and abuse a ex manager.

{Ed001's Note - I don't get the conversation at all. He went along to pay his respects, thank you to him and that should be it. Why does he deserve any stick for that?}

17 Apr 2016 09:25:47
Some people just hate for no reason. The guy just can't win. He tried his best at the club but couldn't take us any further. Then comes back to pay his respects and still gets abuse. Get over it, and grow up.

17 Apr 2016 10:21:38
BR showed respect and we should reciprocate. He failed as a manager, it happens. We moved on, why the hate.

16 Apr 2016 15:06:26
Hi ed01 am intruiged to see what will happen come the summer with regards our squad and would love your opinions. If we are to go on and win the Europa fingers crossed due to injuries we are going to have to rely on some players who were perhaps playing for there futures a little or starters who fans and yourself have said need replacing to come through for us. Speculation of course but these could be migs clyne Moreno Lucas Allen Milner lallana benteke skrtel ibe. My point is that if we do go on to win it and these players prove to klopp much like sakho and lovren have already done will he be ruthless and replace them. To me he seems a very loyal manager who rewards hard work but my feeling is that over the course of a full season some of the above will let standards drop as we have seen .

Believable4 Unbelievable12

{Ed001's Note - I would expect him to have an open mind and be open to players proving themselves good enough to stay. He will be ruthless, but only with those who have not proven themselves. If they then let us down in the future, they will be replaced. It is good management to allow players to work themselves into the team and a longer stay.}

16 Apr 2016 15:09:18
Question for u ed02 you mentioned recently that the club were facing 2 investigation into transfers or tapping up of players. Not sure if this was anything to do with gerrards book. Could you tell us what players deals they relate too and if found guilty what potential sanctions we face.

Believable0 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - No I didn't say that or anything like that at all.}

16 Apr 2016 20:00:18
Sorry ed I just dug up your post and it was in relation to a thread on zielinski and his recent interview and the tapping up of players. You said and I quote. It is the last thing the club want given they are already facing two UEFA charges which will be heard in May. Could you tell us please what cases the charges relate to and the possible sanctions.

{Ed002's Note - Right, the words are true regardless of your pitiful paraphrasing. I am not sure who said it was anything to do with "tapping up". If it is too complicated to understand that Liverpool are subject top two yet to be heard charges from UEFA best move on. I have explained that Liverpool will face two separate charges - and the date has been set for the hearing (May 9 as I recall but that may be wrong). This got covered previously.}

16 Apr 2016 21:03:54
Apologies ed all I was looking to know was what the charges are that the club was facing and the potential sanctions. I am sorry if this has been covered previously but as much as I love the site I just don't get the chance to get on here and catch up every day. Any information you could give would be appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - This has been dealt with - if you don't have the time to find it out you cannopt reasonably expect me to keep repeating myself.}

16 Apr 2016 14:18:59
Does anyone know the best way to re watch Thursday's game? I watched it in a mates as I don't have BT Sport but usually watch on my laptop if at home. I've got sky sports, anywhere I could find something on there or on my laptop? Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

16 Apr 2016 14:37:05
On the official website 'lfc go' they have every game on there 48 hours after. You may have to join though. It's about 4 quid a month I think.

16 Apr 2016 15:35:23
Footy Room has replays.

16 Apr 2016 15:45:19
The best way to watch any game is fullmatchesandshow. com. love that site eveytime i miss a game its my go to site.

16 Apr 2016 14:37:07
try this one mate:

16 Apr 2016 17:45:25
Cheers all.

16 Apr 2016 21:13:52
YouTube.

17 Apr 2016 08:33:31
Google, just type in the match plus highligts after it and you will find sites that play both the highlights and the full match.

16 Apr 2016 14:22:36
If anyone wants goosebumps about Thursday again give the lfc commentry a go. We all know what's coming but you can't help laugh in disbelief it actually happened.

Massive shame about can missing 6 weeks, going to take a massive effort to get through without both hendo and can but we are Liverpool, anything is possible.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

16 Apr 2016 14:36:42
I can't stand the lfc commentary, so biased and a bit clueless.

16 Apr 2016 15:17:35
Hem b, it's only a two minute clip on Facebook never listened to them for a full game so can't comment. But I'd be biased if I was commentating on our games!

16 Apr 2016 17:50:05
So would I but it's crap to listen to. Didn't Gary galepe (spelling) say "that's where you want your 6 foot 4 CB" talking about lovren? Like I said clueless.

It's god awful.

16 Apr 2016 13:34:35
Umar sadiq?

Never heard his name before but supposedly he's the new "it" kid that we're supposedly interested in. Anything on him eds? Only played 6 first team games so don't really see him being a high priority any time soon, one to keep an eye on?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool. Lyon have spoken with Spezia Calcio about Umar Saiq and he has drawn interest from one EPL and Montpellier.}

16 Apr 2016 19:17:14
Sorry ed was talking about the Roma young winger!
Although I'm guessing by your answer that we don't have much interest.
Thanks anyway!

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry, Roma don't own the player - he is on loan. If Liverpool are talking to Roma then it is a bit of a surprise to me. Is this Twitter again?}

16 Apr 2016 19:20:49
Sorry ignore the last post me thinks! got confused by Spezia Calcio and then the misspelling made me think we were talking about different people!

16 Apr 2016 12:47:35
seeing as can and Hendo are both out, I'd like to see us do the narrow diamond again with two up top. In Europe maybe Lucas sitting, Allen and Milner either side, coutinho just in front and Sturridge and origi up top.
In the league Stewart can come in the middle too, maybe even lallana in for Milner or Allen. Obviously firmino can switch with any of the front three.
I think with the main two cms out we should play three in there so we don't get overrun, but I do think Sturridge origi and coutinho all should start, seeing as they are in good form at the moment.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

16 Apr 2016 14:41:14
I wouldn't mind that formation, Fencey.

16 Apr 2016 14:45:11
Could we consider using Brad Smith as left back and moving Moreno into field. as we seem vulnerable on the break when we lose possession of the ball on one of his forays forward. just a thought?

16 Apr 2016 15:07:09
Lucas, Stewart and Allen should be just enough, that would be a hard working midfield.

16 Apr 2016 17:23:10
Agree Fencey, our best midfielders (with Hendo and Can injured) are Allen, Milner, Lucas, Stewart and perhaps we have the option to play Coutinho and Llalala if a 3 man midfield. Brannagan, Rossiter and Chirivella probably too untested to start in a EL semi-final unless Klopp is prepared to give one of them lots of game time before the 28th.

The other issue is apart from Stewart and Lucas, the rest have proven better at playing in a midfield 3 than sitting deep as part of a 2. I therefore agree with your view that Stewart/ Milner/ Allen would be our strongest setup in PL but given Stewart is not registered, we may need to start Lucas/ Milner/ Allen vs Villareal.

16 Apr 2016 12:29:44
Eds and Reds, please does anyone know how many people were at Afield on Thursday night? I know the game was sold out, the stadium was buzzing like never before and looked really really packed, but I have no idea what the official attendance was.
Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - The figure provided to UEFA was just under 43k.}

Hey lfc fans

Wow wow terrible news
Henderson and can both runners and energy and tackles and all round display both sidelined

Big blow to the centre midfield area as let's be real
Can an Henderson do have pace to make tackles and chase running midfielders

So what would be your midfield now guys
And I specifically mean for the European games left?
And how would u compensate the losses?

Fans or eds?

Believable2 Unbelievable7

16 Apr 2016 12:40:35
League you have Stewart who is more than capable of holding a role In midfield. Lucas is back in full training. Joe Allen will have to fill a void and Milner can play there too.

It's got to be Lucas and Stewart as Thursday showed us Milner should never play cm again. Allen could play there as well but I never think he or Liverpool play well when it's a 2 man midfield.

16 Apr 2016 12:44:34
We have lucas allen stewart milner chirivella can be called up for the league if needed. Or we change the formation Klopp knows what he is doing.

16 Apr 2016 12:52:54
That's a MASSIVE blow, not too fussed about the league games if I'm being brutally honest but we have 2 huge games against Villarreal coming up.

16 Apr 2016 13:44:59
Milner and Allen can't play deep so I think in the league we can play Lucas/ Stewart in a 4-2-3-1, and maybe Brannagan/ chirivella/ rossiter if comfortable playing youth.

In EL however (where Stewart not registered and we need experience) we'll need to play midfield 3 and Lucas, Milner, Allen which is how we finished vs. Dortmund so can't be all that bad!

16 Apr 2016 14:44:50
Lucas plays surely. Stewart I think, isn't part of the EL squad. Hence, who gets paired next to Lucas will be key. Said midfielder will have to provide the press and the harrying of the opposition. Don't know if Allen or Milner can do that in CM.

16 Apr 2016 12:33:35
We need to cut this crap of Can - Henderson savior of the club. Two indisciplined midfielders who leave acres of space behind them. What did we see against Dortumand in the first 10 mts?
Henderson has been bag average from about 6 months while Can has picked up more yellow cards courtesy of his stupid fouls.
Stewart to play reminder of the PL games as he is class on the ball and would sit in front of the back which will look more solid.
I expect Lucas - Allen - Milner for the rest of EL games.

You have to keep in mind our midfield has been poor from day one and it has hardly kept us in the hunt.

Peace out.

16 Apr 2016 12:05:49
Just reading that Stewart isn't in Europa squad but I think Chiravella is. With that in mind might be an idea to give Chiravella some game time tomorrow. Can only help with a semi final coming up.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

16 Apr 2016 11:44:38
Can looks to be out for the rest of the season sucks he was one of our best players this year this leaves us with Allen Lucas and Stewart and milner who can cover there ed001 do you think chrivella wuill be given a chance like Stewart had because I think he oozes class with the ball.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - I would certainly think so, Klopp and the staff really like him. I certainly hope we aren't stuck with Milner in the centre!}

16 Apr 2016 12:06:13
I do think we will have to play one of Stewart or Lucas I wouldn't think playing them two together far to defensive need Allen energy in there with Milly coming in occasionally and chrivella maybe being the sub for tired legs?

16 Apr 2016 12:10:40
Very bad timing the lose of Hendo and now Can. It could cost us big time.

16 Apr 2016 12:12:23
Europa league; Stewart isn't available is he? Is chiravella young enough? Probably will be Lucas and Milner/ Allen though.
Gutted for can, he was really playing well, gave it away a little too much, but he was using his strength so well, working hard, and starting to hurt people going forward too.

16 Apr 2016 22:29:56
klopp mentioned brannagan after the stoke game do you think he could come into contention ed001? I would not hesitate to use him stewart and chrivella bearing in mind lucas has only just returned from injury and milner cannot play centre midfield, I have to say I am gutted for emre can.

{Ed001's Note - if he is fully fit then he will be in contention, he is very much seen as a potential future first teamer now.}

16 Apr 2016 11:48:49
Bad news about Emre Can being out for 6-8 weeks. Probably miss the rest of the season, as will Henderson. That's a big midfield miss for us, as we try to progress in the EL. Really bad luck with injuries this season.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

16 Apr 2016 12:03:52
Got to feel sorry for Can, I would say this wrecks his Euro chances too. He has been a constant for us now most of the season and rightly so. Maybe given a full pre season he will up a gear under Klopp and take next season in his stride.

Baz.

16 Apr 2016 12:13:44
Seems like our injuries come in waves, first we had Ings Sturridge and origi out at once, then lovren sakho skrtel and Gomez out at the same time, and now hendo and can, rossiter too and Lucas and Stewart just coming back.

16 Apr 2016 14:47:35
Injuries are part of the game. We dust ourselves off, get the next man up and we go again.

16 Apr 2016 11:44:13
Emre Can out for 4-6 weeks with ruptured ankle ligaments.

So what people here think of Milner?

I admit that like many here, his passing, crossing and corners drove me mad throughout the season, properly mad. However is he is such an energy machine and so always near the ball and eventually after so many lost balls he will give a decent cross that will become a great assist or give an occasional goal. I think he already has 12 assists. Two on Thursday.

Defensively, again, very energetic, quite strong but I don't remember him make a lot of interceptions or amazing tackles.

I used to think a team which has inspiration to be a top 4, should have him maybe as a substitute, not a starter, but not so sure now. Thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

16 Apr 2016 11:54:50
His pace worried me a bit on Thursday, could have just been tiredness but remember him being passed quite easily at times. Stewart has done well when he's come in so he deserves a chance. Europe though is a different calibre for a youngster. I'd give Stewart a start tomorrow against Bournemouth see how he goes. Allen has done well when came in over last couple of months so deserves a chance and I'm sure he'll be used in the semi finals.

16 Apr 2016 11:59:24
For me anyway it's the fact he's our top earner but just doesn't do anything to justify this tag. I understand a large portion is through the signing on fee but if you look at our full season and asked someone to rank our players on how they should be paid milner would probably not be in the top 5 and therefore has under preformed to his role and deserves criticism. He is meant to be the week in week out consistently 7/ 8 out of 10 a week and he sadly has had a lot of bad games and the 7/ 8 out of 10 games are rare enough. I wouldn't be one to force him out in the summer by any means but I would have him as a squad player next year which would be fine but again it's tough to have one of if not still your highest earner as a squad player.

16 Apr 2016 14:52:32
Shane, I agree with your post. However, for the wages Milner is on, he should be doing a whole lot more than what he's doing now. You don't put a play on those wages as a squad player. That is madness. He, Lallana, and Benteke don't do enuff to justify their wages while Coutinho, Firmino, Can, Hendo, Sahko, and Lovren offer a lot more for a lot less wages so that tells me that these three players need to be moved on or their wages reduced to those of a squad player.

16 Apr 2016 20:09:19
I just feel the only reason he has so many goals and assits is because he just plays so much, yet every aspect of his game on the ball is woeful. Basically he gets them all through trial and many, many errors.

Everyone is pointing to those statistics as the reason for why he should stay but i personally feel he is so wasteful and if we had someone who didn't make so many mistakes on the ball and had more quality on it, the team would have scored many more goals as milner slows the play so much and makes so many mistakes. His corners and crossed are also consistently woeful and show no signs of improving. His place in the squad can defnitately be improved by either promoting one of the kids or making a new signing and for that reason i see no reason to keep him on his astronomical wages.

16 Apr 2016 21:18:12
My post on this thread agrees with you, Wooly. Same goes for Lallana.

16 Apr 2016 22:41:13
no matter what he does in the future he will always have that cross on his cv. I would play him wide right and tell him to cross first time, I would also ban him from ever taking another corner kick whilst in a Liverpool shirt, he has also scored some pressure penalties for us, but does that justify his huge wages, I don't think it does, however his work rate is just what we require at this moment, for the future I would be looking to get rid and promote a youngster, in the mean time he gets my support as the club is more important than my own personal feelings especially as we are so close to MORE European glory.

Hey eds,

The 96 that Dortmund held up on Thursday pre match in the stand, was that organised by there own fans?

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure, there is a lot of conflicting info about that. They certainly agreed to it, but they did not place the cards out, as that was done stadium wide by the same company.}

Hey! I followed this site for a long time (maybe 6 years? ) but I never thought to join before haha. Sorry if I seem random but am curious to know who people want to see as captain next year. I think Sakho is my first choice because he seems like he has real big personality compared to other player at the club. Hope I didn't make idiot of myself too much here.! ^_^.

Emre Can #23 (c)

16 Apr 2016 09:12:53
Why wouldn't Henderson be captain next season? I think some people are expecting the whole starting 11 to change, I'd be surprised if it was more than 3.

16 Apr 2016 09:48:23
Hendo is the captain for me, unless his injuries force him not be able to play regularly. But hopefully that will not be the case!

16 Apr 2016 09:57:51
Agree Den. Henderson is our captain. It would surely dent his confidence and possibly affect his performance of the captaincy was took off him in my opinion. Good on ya for joining Susan btw.

16 Apr 2016 10:06:26
Henderson has to stay as Captain, fitness permitting. If Lucas is still here after the summer then I would go with him for vice-captain. And if not, then one of Lovren/ Sakho.

16 Apr 2016 10:11:29
Continue with Hendo lad. He's well respected by team mates, vocal and works hard.

16 Apr 2016 11:09:19
Not saying Henderson won't be here next season or long-term, but it has to be someone that will be. If that puts him on the mix then fair enough.
That same pot will also have Can and Sakho. If they are both considered to be worthy to be kept on, then also fair enough.
If it is then a choice of the 3 of them, I honestly don't mind which one.

If I had to list my order of preference it would be:

1- Sakho
2- Can
3- Henderson

There are rumours about players on their way, might be being sold etc, but of the 3 above, there is a list of players I would replace before any of them:

Balotelli
Benetek
Skrtel
Lucas
Mignolet

We have to increase the quality of the first team and squad. You do that by replacing the ones that are contributing (for whatever reason) the least. This would be these 5 players at the moment in that order.

Then if there is an identifiable upgrade available for anyone else in the team/ squad and it is financially viable, then they can then be considered.

This can happen over 3-4 transfer windows as you don't want to have too many players coming into the first team at once. If you went with that list of 5, it is only Mignolet that is players all of the time, so only one player from the first team. The other 4 can be replaced with better players which will improve the squad which allows for better rotation, cover for injuries etc.

16 Apr 2016 11:36:14
Please add moreno, ibe to list of player to be sold.

16 Apr 2016 12:03:53
Why on earth would we sell ibe? Only way he is leaving is if he forces his way out but would be stupid for the club to try and get rid of him. And despite recent presumptions ibe has always seemed very happy at Liverpool and obviously has great relationship with some of the players like sturridge and Henderson.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect at the end of season review Ibe might well be seen as surplus. The club cannot keep adding players to an already bloated squad. Don't be surprised if Ibe doesn't make the cut.}

16 Apr 2016 14:54:41
Not referring to the OP but Hendo is the captain and people need to get over it.

16 Apr 2016 08:20:59
Good morming all

Does anyone have an idea of the extent on Emres injury? I no the club have said little other than he is having a scan. i'm thinking the worse but hoping its not season ending as will be a massive miss in the centre along with Hendo missing. He was out there at the end jumping about but could of been the addrenalin kicking in.

Any ideas or thoughts Eds?

I'm a west Londoner born and raised and by rights should have been a Chelsea fan like my uncle. As most children born in the 70's and growing up in the 80's my parents had to go to work to put food on the table so I grew up with a child minder (May God rest her soul) her sons were Liverpool fans and I am Indebted to them for a million lifetimes because it wasn't for them I'd be a plastic. There was a lot of Asians that supported Liverpool back then in London and I didn't feel out of place supporting a northern club in the bosom of London.

My dream of going to watch the Reds at Anfield was turned into reality and became a regular thing because I used to ring the ticket office and flirt with a wonderful lady who'd always secure me a ticket for any game I wanted (I won't name any names but thankyou from the bottom of my heart) . My mates were aghast when i always had a ticket for a Man Utd game without having a season ticket!

I progressed onto a fan card then to a season ticket and saw some absolute poetry at Anfield namely Olympiakos, Chelsea and Arsenal games in the champions league. I've seen the king countless times but never had the courage to go and thank him for his grace and selflessness, I've shaken Rafas hand, had a burger with Digger Barnes but let me say what I witnessed yesterday at 3pm from my couch in Florida was up there with anything I've ever seen including Istanbul.

Watched the game twice and the highlights at least 15 times and I'm still doubting we won. There was some rotten performances from our players last night but that's not important. We were schooled and aren't as good as them. If we played them 100 times they'd beat us more than we'd beat them but we out-hearted them. This is no idle boast this team is going places and fast.

Give the messiah one pre season and one transfer window and it will be Pep who? Furthermore what Carra did calling out Jason Cundy is up there with some of my greatest Liverpool memories. I've been outwardly anti-Carragher for the totalitarianistic way he used to control the club with his dad and Gerrard. I am of the opinion that no player should have that much power but he redeemed himself in my eyes with his phone call to talk sport.

I actually thought he let his partisanship get in the way of journalistic objectivity but he was protecting what was dear to him. He went up in my estimation for that, top banana. Sorry for the long post its 1.30am in Miami and I can't sleep and thought post something. If you feel my ramblings are excruciatingly boring and too developed Eds don't worry about posting up on the site. JFT96.

I grew up in the 90's down in southall and there was still a massive following for Liverpool then. It felt like that was the local team with all the merchandise (sounds stupid I know) but looking back I am so thankful that was the case as the highs and lows I have experienced as a Liverpool supporter could not be exchanged for anything. Do I wish I could get to more games, yes. Do I wish there was more people around me (I now live in Leeds) support Liverpool, yes. But I don't care as why those don't change I will continue to follow Liverpool and continue to let them shave years of my life with all the heart palpitations they give me!

16 Apr 2016 06:51:57
Never thought you are 42 Brenda 😂😂 loved your post and previous. Pretty much the same case with me from yesterday. Couldn't count the no of times I have watched the highlights. For a moment I decided to throw the tactics our of the window as it meant nothing.
We we're destined to win and the GOD said so.

I grew up in Southall too OnceRed. Small world hey.

Yes Harry I feel there is a divine aspect to this Europa cup run but then this is Liverpool FC we can be unplayable one game and then smell the stadium out the next. But let's look to the heavens for some help because we'll need it against a very organized and strong Villarreal.

16 Apr 2016 03:46:25
Since Klopp at helm, we have been fighting back from losing position. At back of mind, crystal palace win 2-1 from 1 man 1 goal down, norwich from 3-0 down to 5-4 win, arsenal from 3-2 down to draw 3-3, Dortmund from 3-1 down to win 4-3. Any more? I tink there were a few more. I think 1-1 vs borneomouth?

Equally though we have lost more points from winning positions than other any other team. I think it's more we are struggling to play well for 90 mins!

Spot on, Fencey. We have to start having complete games, not starting well and finishing poorly.
