Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

I wondered where all the LFC fans had gone to! Regarding yesterday's game. A little interested in the formation which was very Rafa esq. Gerrard gives us a lot playing a little deeper, however a couple of his tackles were rash and in bad positions.

We appeared fitter than at any time last season, and for the poster who commented below that Carragher should not be in the team as he offers us nothing, well he maybe a little short on pace and his turning circle getting slightly bigger, but he organises the defence better than anyone and his talking is a fundamental part of the defence. As well as still being able to play at a high level. He aint finished yet and has a good three years in him yet. Srktel appeared a little more composed than last season, where he was awful, don't like Agger at full back, looked a tad awkward and for a good ball playing footballer, he should adapt far easier than he did.

Reina is just pure class and he isn't exempt from the odd rickett. The blame should also lie with Johnston who tried to toe poke the ball against a player to get a throw in. How brain dead was that? Ngog continues to improve, still not at the level that is required but he is improving. Have to admit, as a non Mascherano fan, he played well and looked committed to the cause and actually worked hard. Shop window springs to mind.

Cole deserved to go, rash challenge, didn't exactly shine but Arsenal played a canny game first half and didn't give us much space at all in which to play, second half they were utterly rubbish.

Jovanovic looks the exact replica of Kuyt in style of play, hustles and bustles on the wing without coming close to being labelled a winger in any form. Seems to have a better touch though!

Kuyt again was used just like Benitez used him, long ball for him to beat the full back in the air and flick on. Other than that he appears to have regained his ability to trap the ball and let it run 5 yards in a completely other direction.

Overall difficult to judge the performance because of the sending off. Hodgson doesn't seem to have altered too much, except effort, resolve, committment were much higher than last year. I was hoping we would be a little more attacking, but a promising start.

Read an article on Jamie Redknapp on Goal.com - very funny and true.

Does anyone else think his comments are sometimes ridiculous and surprising for an ex-footballer?

I suppose someone's going to tell me off for criticising an ex -player - it's not the Liverpool way!

Why was Aquilani not involved in the first team squad on Sunday? If fit he must be worth a place on the bench.

I have been observing many ongoings at liverpool over the last few weeks and it seems that the takeover is making progress but not fast enough to make the end of the month.Big names will come with the takeover most likely in Jan or next summer cuz i really can't see that happening anytime near
Possible transfers right now (actually realistic):
Remy - 12 mil (A lot of talent, sure to be a star!)
Santon - 5 mil (Potential there sure RH can find it)
Toivonen - 5 mil (Not too sure, havent seen him play)
Brad jones - 2 mil(basically done)
Turan - 12 mil (Pure class, sure to be a ledgend a the KOP)
most likely 3 of all those listed are to come in the foll weeks except turan that 1 wuz wishful thinking. .

Ha ha ha ha, It's brilliant the fact that so many people are guessing who were gonna buy before the window closes, and non of them are right or if they are the're lucky guesses. Let's face it people, the Reds have gone back to the way it used to be. We find nothing out until it happens. Remember when we were talking to Derby about Mark Wright and everybody were convinced Everton were gonna buy Dean Saunders, next minute, pow, Liverpool bought the both of them out of the blue.
We may buy somebody, we might not, but when we do it will be a great player as we have a great manager who knows what he's doing. . . oh by the way I heard were buying Auguero for £45million, deal done on Friday. . .ha ha only joking. . Get a grip people only put rumours on this site if they are genuine. .

In Response to
"DO WE WANT TO 'BUY' THE TITLE ?

BELIEVE = YES
NON BELIEVE = NO
"

I guess you mean do we want a new owner to come in and give the manager 150 or 200m to buy any player he wants ? If this is the question then any logical supporter should say yes, for god sake we will not be able to challenge united/ chelsea and maybe city if we do not buy at least 5 -> 6 quality players, these players would cost no less than 150m.
We need a striker as good as Torres we need a left back as good as Ashley Cole and Evra, we need solid defenders like Vidic and Vermaelen to replace Carra and Skrtel we need 1 or 2 good creative midfielders to support Gerrard, we need 1 or 2 good wingers like Valencia and Malouda .
to get these we need an owner with deep pockets.

To say we have good kids coming through is very naive , because as a special one once said "you do n't win anything with kids".

Not too Worried. . .!

seen a coupe of comment's about formation against arsenal and concearns it's too much like rafa's.

Arsenal (like it or not), are a good team, to go 442 in the first game of the season, when it was the first time this team had played together this season, woud have been folly to say the least, as we'd have been counter attacked to death. Against (shall we say) lesser sides i can see us playing a more 433 formation under Roy, or maybe even a 352 which is what we got in small spells in the first half, one thing evident was the amount of players in the box when crosses came in, something that @ home and away last season we were completely lacking. As i stated on day 1 when Roy signed He is an excellent manager and will get every ounce out of every player. I have liked his frankness in the media, i also like the way he talks about players in the media too. Stevie will thrive off the management style of Hodgson, who will praise when needed, something he never got a lot of off Benitez.

This I don't know for sure. Did hear a reliable course discussing it where I work, albeit not to me.

Citeh to give Mancini 9 more games tops, Probably only 5. If Citeh aren't playing like a team capable of winning the League. .Arriva Durci.

This is where L.F.C comes in to it.

Dalglish will be Citeh's preferred managerial choice.

It's well known he wanted the Liverpool job, now everyone and the world knows it, Citeh will offer him the chance to manage at the top again.

Would Kenny take the job ? Who knows, I wouldn't bet against it.

SHUT UP YOU MANC. . AND GO AND WIN SOMETHING

Few comments on the game yesterday, in response to general opinions posted today:

J cole: I was not a fan of his until I 've seen him in a couple pre-season (Europa) games, I think he can come good when he stops trying to prove him self, was ineffective yesterday and deserves his red card, but with time I think we will see good stuff from him, I personally think he should play in either side and not in the center.

Gerrard: I thought he was awesome yesterday , maybe we found our new Alonso.

Ngog: He scored a good goal, many goal keepers would 've failed to save it, but all in all he is still s* t and if we are to challenge for top 4 we need a better cover for Torres

Our defense (except Johnson): Were very good and deserved a clean sheet, unlucky for Pepe who produced a couple of excellent saves.

Johnson: Good forward but absolute rubbish at the back, I blame the goal on him, why on earth he kicked the ball out for a throw the way he did.

Roy: Not sure, his half time talk must 've been good, the team was much better in the second half, but can anyone tell me the point of the first substitution , why take Jovanovic and put Maxi, if he wanted to rest the former, then Babel would've been a better alternative , we were under siege and Babel's pace would have worried Arsenal and held back a bit . .

I think too many ppl on this site are getting carried away. lets be serious guys, aguero would be fantastic but he's worth millions more than we can afford. the same goes for many more players that we are being linked with. we have to be clever at the min and work within the limits that are in place.

cheap youth players, english talent and swap deals are what we should be focusing on.

i think this eto'o swap with masch has some wind in its sails but still seems a bit far fetched. we need to be looking into the lower leagues for some young english players and trying to get are own youth squads to improve and fight for places.

this "new" liverpool will take time to show what it can do, but so long as we stay competitive in the top 4 and europe for a few season. we can build something special again and really show the world what this club can do!

Ed - how do you pick which rumours make the site? I have posted two very well researched and 'real' rumours today which have not appreared, yet you post a rumour from some person who thinks Wickham plays for Norwich? Please explain {editor's note - two very well researched and 'real' rumours? Your IP addy posted a bunch of rumours, I read a few and they were complete rubbish so I just ignored the rest. Well researched does not sound to me like anything other than stuff you have found elsewhere on the net.}

Anyone that thinks that RBS would do a better job than H & G must have forgotten the financial ruin that they dragged us all into these past few years. I used to work for them, a company that went from earning a profit of £28 billion a year to being broke and on the verge of a complete meltdown should never be trusted. .

Lets pray they don't take the club over and that it is sold to responsible and ethical owners. .

To Ed, who wrote this,

though Kuyt has a terrible first touch and can't pass water
LOL, just like a white, dutch Heskey, works hard but his 2nd touch is a sliding tackle.

I work harder than Kuyt, and for 6 days a week as well, do I get a game?

To Ridgebackred,

with regard to Joe Cole, I was merely referring to the fact that one or 2 tackles of a similar nature by the opposition went without the same punishment, and by that standard he can feel a little hard done by. I was by no means referring to/ defending his mediocre performance.

However, to suggest that he is a championship player at best is a more than a little harsh. Granted, he wasnt great yesterday, but come on, he isn't THAT bad. .surely??! :)

Emos1892
I was just making a comment on the first cole article i saw as i scrolled down the page.
Cole IS that bad, if we could afford to buy players he would not be here.
He will prove me right over the course of the season, too much like the two cancers that own our club, all waffle in front of the media, but always fail to deliver. If he scores 10 goals and makes 15 assists this season (and the Ed can save the post) which he should do comfortably then I'll donate 50 quid to the Ed's nominated charity, as long as it's the Hillsborough fund. . . ;-)

Ed id like your opinion on this. We have no right to call whoever wears the liverpool fc shirt sh!t now do we? But surely players such as kuyt(even with his work rate), babel, aqualani, insua, poulsen and el zhar are not good enough to play for liverpool? We could and should have gotten much better since 1990? And players being linked with us such as carlton cole, loic remy, konchesky, duff, swp etc are not good enough either. Ngog and lucas will get much better, especialy ngog, although we still need a much better 2nd striker. Id like to see bellamy. I can see us getting much better under mr. Roy. Top 4 is a given for us this season. With a new striker i think we can win the league, or even play jova as a s.partner for t09? He is strong and clever and a goal threat. Who would you like to see come in, ed And my fellow reds?
Red bl00ded! {editor's note - I, personally, don't like to call Liverpool players shit, though Kuyt has a terrible first touch and can't pass water, I would prefer to say why I don't rate him rather than just say he is crap. I just hope that Roy will give Pacheco the chance to play sooner rather than later, hopefully now Cole is out for a few he will get a run in the side, he is a far better player than Cole, who was awful before he got sent off. I don't really see the need for any more signings this window, too many signings cost us time and time again during Rafa's tenure, I would rather save any money for January and add a player or two then.}

Team vs. Man City:
GK: Reina
LB: Agger
CB: Carragher
CB: Skrtel
RB: Johnson
CDM: Poulsen
LM: Jovanovic
RM: Kuyt
CM: Gerrard
ST: Torres
ST: N'Gog

Subs: Jones, Aurelio, Wilson, Aqua, Lucas, Rodriguez, Pacheco
Torres will be fit. Jones would have arrived. Masch will be gone.

To Emos, who wrote,

I thought Cole's red card was harsh,

I didn't realise he was playing until then. . . .
But he was free, so it doesn't count eh!
Championship player at best.

Ridgebackred. . {editor's note - I noticed he was playing, because he did a lot of fancy flicks to give the ball back to Arsenal....}

I really hope I am proved wrong with this, but if Remy does come to Liverpool, it will be a waste of money.

I have just moved back from France and seen him play live over the past two seasons and can honestly say I can count on one hand the number of quality games he has had.

On his day he is unplayable, but he does not have many 'good' days!

Maybe Roy can get consistancy out of him - Personally, i would rather have Zamora

16 Aug 2010 14:44:43
Will people please stop posting rumours they just read in the newspapers, if we believedthe papers we would have signed Remy in mid July, Masch would be going to Barca for buttons, Gerrard and Torres would be gone, Aquillani wuld be back in Italy, etc. . .

Seriously, enough is enough, we could just read the papers.

I'm interested in knowing if there are any genuine rumours (i.e. sources inside Anfield) in regard to transfers and whats going on with the transfers.

To the person that posted this

"I posted on Wednesday that Roy took a private jet to Sweden and did not clam to know why. We have now been linked with Swedish forward Ola Toivonen, seems that's why Roy was there

You could well be right ? and for about £5m it would be a bargain. I have seen it in the daily mail & a couple of websites. and how do you know about Roy's private jet flight patterns ? who are you ?

Hi Ed

Just a quick question I saw a post about a LFC player who has had a press injunction put in place. what is this all about?? I'v heard the rumours about stevie g but this isn't about him is it?

16 Aug 2010 14:12:08
Gareth bale and Arron Lennon are bob heads for saying that about Liverpool they will never be as good as some of the Liverpool greats so thaey can **** off in other new Ola Toivonen to join Liverpool for 5m ffrom Psv.

16 Aug 2010 14:07:12
Agreed. Those are not phrases I would choose to describe any player, but maybe those that do do not have the words at their command to do it any other way (and that is not a criticism by the way). Whilst you may not agree with their show of displeasure they are only showing their love for the club. Leave blind delusional love for a club to the Man U fans, that certainly is not the Liverpool way.

I took your advice but it has left me completely baffled? I just hugged my wife and said ''i think your sh*t!'' and she hit me! i was only showing my love. LOL

Jovanovic looks like a decent player for us.

With j.cole getting himself red carded, i would like to see Alberto Aquilani play just behind the striker.

I think Alberto Aquilani is a world class player, we just need to let him play 5 or 6 games. hopefully he will be fit soon.

It was nice to see Gerrard playing in the problem central area.

We seem to be playing Benitez old formation still. I had hoped to see something different, but i did like the attacking intent shown by the team.

Iv hated some of the football we use to play under Rafael Benítez.
Under Benitez, we would have gone all defensive second half. Then he would of done something stupid, like sub Gerrard and take the defeat.

They say a draw is better than a defeat,
I think as a fan, i would be happy seeing them play with heart and courage untill the end. The fans will be happy at the end of the season no matter what happens.

win is better than a draw.
I can see liverpool picking up a few more points this season with middle opposition like stoke, birmingham, everton. we might get a few more wins.

Roy Hodgson time at inter, he turned the inter team into machines. technical skill wasnt great, but they could run forever. Maybe the team need to get fittness sorted so they win it in the 80th to 90th minute.

16 Aug 2010 13:39:06
Why are some of you posting who you want/ should get? This is a rumour/ transfer news site not your wishlist.

Onto who I want to see join Liverpool:
Arda Turan, amazing on YouTube, doesn't he play for Besiktas?? Ever Banega - he sounds good on the Liverpool FC forums so lets go for him and the fact that Christian Poulsen is ****! - according to Sky Sports. he's only rated 5.0.

My dads dad has a dad who has a dad who also has a dad and his great grandad has a grandad who is constantly drinking down the local pub. The landlord is the groundsman at Anfield and his dog is Rafa's goatee, who is somehow related to Roy Hodgson.

Who will come in:

Ken Aguero - Free. I know, I know, you won't believe me but I heard him having some troubles in the toilet after a takeaway last night. As he was so embarrassed, I managed to push a deal through. Though he's unlikely to play against Man City, as he was in the curry shop again this morning lying on the floor. Quite a mess there was around his bum.

Thats all there is for now.

InTheKnow. LOL jk i don't know anything :(

ONLY SHOWING THERE LOVE FOR THE CLUB? Sorry i could not disagree more, Ngog is sh*t, Lucas is cr*p, how the hell is that showing love for your club, i had a Manu fan with me yesturday and he read some of the comments from some of our own fans on this website and he was shocked at the way people speak of about our own players and that was coming from a MANC fan, and you say it's a way of showing love, you must have had some very strange relationships! CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM is fine and the Liverpool way, fool mouthed attacks are not! !

16 Aug 2010 13:07:05
YES IT DOES, to say a player did not play too well and give constructive criticism is fine, but some morons come on here and just say Kuyt is sh*t or Lucas is sh*t, please explain how that is a comment that should be respected and is from a knowledgable fan? Our moto for our great club is 'You'll Never Walk Alone', this mean's standing together as one supporting our team through thick and thin and if any of our player's are not playing well we should not be coming on to websites saying he's fu* ing cr*p it's that which makes us sound like Man U fans, it's mindless, moronic and more importantly it's not the Liverpool way!

I couldnt give a s* te what people think , I (wait for it) like Kuyt. .the last guy was right all you do in your big mongy voices say, Kuyt or Lucas or Aquilanis s* t ! I was a tad worried b4 yesterdays game cos you never know what to expect.By half time you would have taken a draw, by full time we should have won it. bit of bad luck which seems to come with arsenal games. but if certain personel hadnt changed this season i would have been terrified and expected a heavy defeat .If you think (even after that 1 game) that we don't look as 1 of the contenders for the prem, then Arsenal certainly arent and neither are city. and as for the masch or poulson only kick people, well Roy Keane did that an he was what pulled Utd through at rough and difficult games. IM Happy at what ive seen and unlike last season can't wait for the next game. SMF

16 Aug 2010 12:57:34
Liverpool to sign John Arne Riise for £3.2m (buy-out clause).

And maybe a new striker , here are the likely targets if there are funds : Ola Toivenan (Most Likely) (£5m), Loic Remy (£12m) or Andre Pierre Gignac (£15m).

Mascherano will NOT be sold until next summer.

Poulsen was brought in because he is versitile and makes a great utility player for the defence and in centre mid, for £4.5m, he was a BARGAIN!

And if we don't sign a new left-back before the window closes we could play Poulsen as a left-back?

Waht do you think Ed? {editor's note - I am not a fan of Poulsen, I have had enough of limited one-dimensional players. What happened to the Souness type players, the ones who could fight for the cause, win back possession and then actually do something with it, not just look to pass it 5 yards sideways. Poulsen is certainly no left back, I would rather see Kelly, Darby or Agger out of position than have paid millions to play somebody else out of position.}

Alright folks,

just wanted to guage the general opinion on yestredays match.

I thought we looked very strong, surprisingly so! The defence looked great, apart from the obvious mishap (felt so sorry for Pepe, he has been awesome for us, I'm sure he will bounce back though)

Jovanovic looked a lot better than I expected, very strong, and looked to carry the ball where he could. Despite the gooners having all the possession, they didn't create much, we stifled them well. I thought Cole's red card was harsh, and certainly his tackle was no worse than Rosicky's challenge on Gerrard. Wilshere made a poor enough challange as well and both only got booked, Cole can feel hard done by.

Im a lot more optimistic than I was before the game. Hoping for a push for top 4!

I think we have the right to voice our displeasure at our teams performance or individual performances! OF COURSE YOU DO BUT LIKE SOMEONE ELSE HAS POSTED EARLIER, CAN YOU HONESTLY SAY THAT ''KUYT IS SH*T'' IS A CONSTRUCTIVE EDUCATED COMMENT! THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR COMMENTS BUT THEY ARE THE COMMENTS FROM MANY PEOPLE ON HERE ABOUT LUCAS, KUYT, JOHNSON, NGOG ETC.

And although i'm new to this site and have never voiced negative comments about our players i will admit that whilst Dirk Kuyt is a hard worker and honest, he is not in my opinion a player we should be starting. .his control, passing, creative play and ability to commit defenders is more often then not average. .The amount of games we drew because of him two seasons ago was one of the reasons we didn't win the league. . and Rafas obsession with him and decision to rarely sub him absolutely killed me!
And if we're all honest. .would he get into our competitions starting 11's?? - Man U's? (PROBABLY) - Chelsea's? (NO)- Arsneals?(NO) - Tottenham's?(DEFINATELY) - Man Citeh's?(DEFINATELY) - Villa's? (DEFINATELY)-. . And what really kills me is that just before Rafa bought him, on the late night football programme -"Goalissimo"- which used to be aired on channel 4 or 5, I can remember like it was yesterday the young Sergio Aguero of Independiente saying how much he'd love to move to a club with great history like LIVERPOOL. . I then remember Rafa saying Aguero wasn't the type of player we needed when asked about transfer targets! Kuyt?. .Aguero?. .Kuyt?. .Aguero?. .mmm WHAT HAS COMPARING KUYT TO ANOTHER STRIKER GOT TO DO WITH HIM BEING A GOOD PLAYER OR NOT??

Please check out what I'm saying if you think I'm * * ! . . and please be honest before challenging me on the Kuyt issue. NOBODY KNOWS WHO YOUR POST HIS DIRECTED TO AS THERE ARE MANY FANS ON HERE THAT DEFEND HIM AND UNDERSTAND WHAT KUYT BRINGS TO A TEAM AND ALSO KNOW JUST HOW GOOD HE IS!

Gerrard, Cole, Johnson, Carragher, Jones, Darby, Spearing, Shelvey

I post the fact that Roy was flying to Sweden on Wednesday. If Roy had of flew to Holland he would of wasted his journey. Even thou Ola lives and works there, he was in Sweden playing against Scotland. He also scored in the friendly.

So if you going to question my post please research the facts.

"I posted on Wednesday that Roy took a private jet to Sweden and did not clam to know why. We have now been linked with Swedish forward Ola Toivonen, seems that's why Roy was there."

You don't think Roy might have done better to fly to Holland where the player lives and works? (JUST CHECKED THAT - SWEDEN 3 SCOTLAND 0 - HOME INTERNATIONAL AND THIS LAD SCORED)

To the person who asked who are 8 homegrpwn players are likely to be it will probably be:

1. Gerrard
2. Carragher
3. Johnson
4. Cole
5. Brad Jones once he comes

These are all pretty straightforward the remaining 3 i believe unless we buy some players who are homegrown will be:

Ngog
Spearing
Insua (if he stays(which i think he should as he is decent cover and homegrown))

he could choose players like kelly, pacheco, amoo, eccleston etc however, because they are under the age of 21 then they don't have to be registered and can still play so would be taking up a place on the 25 man list which a more senior player could use and by doing this it means we make our squad as big as possible

8 Home Grown Players are:

Gerrard, Carragher, Johnson, Cole, Kelly, Spearing, Darby. Would likely be those if we don't sign any other English players.

16 Aug 2010 11:20:57
What you mean 29 is the wrong side of 30? :S

16 Aug 2010 10:46:53
Where will roy guide us to?
4th spot or higher?- Believeable
5th or lower?- Unbelieveable

"Does anybody know who our 8 home grown players are or are likely to be?"

i don't really know, but looking at other people's suggestions, i don't think they realise that under 21 players don't count towards your squad total - you can have as many as you like, whether 'home-grown' or not!

the rules are more that you can only have a maximum of 17 non-home grown players - you don't HAVE to have 8 home grown, over 21 players, but you can only have 17 non-home grown, over 21 players.

so players like pacheco, wilson, shelvey, etc etc, don't actually have to be part of our squad

Humm, i don't rate Ngog as a player . . The arsenal keeper made the mistake. it is 50/ 50 if Ngog will score or not and at this level he isn't ready to play for liverpool. He isn't ready for this level of football we should loan the player out.

We need strengh, size up front, (like a Carlton Cole or Roque Santa Cruz )

Jamie Carragher and his aging legs in that back line is worrying. his hands are the only thing that keeps him competitve. pulling at players.

Glenn johnson defensive decision making is rubbish. good going foward, but leave a hole behind him.

mascherano hides many of liverpools problems at the back without him liverpool are looking at finishing 6th place or lower.

Joe Cole didn't seem that effective playing in the centre.
. . . Pretty much right. .no mention of kuyt? and jovanovic id lke to see as a support striker fast and very strong. .i bet they had to put leg braces on him when he came off to stop him from runnin. your only downfall is your cole or santa cruz. .we can do better than them. Zamoras better or huntlaar ? whats happened with hm? Hope the toon get a result tonght! SMF

Why is it when anyone says anything remotely negative about Liverpool then 'they shouldn't be posting on this site' or 'should go and support another team'. Liverpool supporters are renowned for being knowledgable about football and whilst some people may not have liked certain aspects of todays game then their opinion should be respected. If we were not critical of our own team and deluded ourselves that we were great again then people would start comparing us to Man Utd supporters. Yes certain aspects of the game were very good but some were rubbish and just because we state our displeasure at what went wrong, it does not mean that we love the club any less

Does anybody know who our 8 home grown players are or are likely to be?

My guessing is that they will be something along the lines of -

Gerrard, Carra, Johnson, Cole, Insua, one of the young keepers, Spearing or Kelly and hopefully a new signing (Crouch, Cole, Parker etc).

Am i the only person who is scared that any money made from the next sale or two might go straight into the two cowboys pocket??
I mean, they've shown that their main concern is greed rather than us improving the squad, and to make things worse i read yesterday in the Telegraph and Independent that the two cowboys may soon be hit with a £20m fine by the banks for some reason or the other! . .
So for this reason i'm begining to think that roy souldn't sell ANYONE untill the two F#*^#NG cowboys are gone!. .Didn't Benitez fall for this same trick by selling Alonso and Voronin and only recieving a fraction in return?. yes he bought Aqua-man and Glen, but didn't Pompey owe us money (Crouch) thus reducing what we really paid them. .and Aqua being injured at the time MUST have meant we didn't pay a lot up front??. Didn't Rafa even refuse to sell Dossena once because he didn't think he'd be given the money to use on the squad?-correct me if i'm wrong. .
And how much money have we already recieved from the Yossi and Albert sales anyway?, surely at least 10m right?, plus at least an anitial 5m budget yes?. so isn't that 15m?. .minus 4.5m - 6m for Poulsen (which i'm sure wasn't all paid up front, but lets just pretend it was) and that should leave Roy a nice 9m to spend NOW!. . THESE COWBOYS ARE BREAKING MY HEART. .can some one please adress these fears and convince me its all O.K. .

SI

Y.N.W.A {editor's note - you seem to have forgotten that Wilson was signed, there is another couple of mill from the budget. Plus Cole and Jovanovic get signing bonuses in the millions, then there is the pay off that is given to leaving players. You would be surprised how little is in the kitty.}

The team rafa built, but roy managed better. this season we will see most of rafa's sighnings come good. ngog had a great game against arsenal. we have to admit, rafa did bring in some great potential players.

16 Aug 2010 08:47:45
Ngog to play alongside torres this season after his performances in europa league qualifier and yesterdays game against arsenal. what a difference a few starts can make to a player. the lad is now filled with confidence and is looking more like the player i expected him to be when he signed. with the right guidance and experience, i expect him to be immense for us in the future, and i feel that roy is the perfect man to bring the best out of ngog. roy seems more focused on creating a confident mood with the players, than winning matches, although confidence breeds success. unlike rafa, who just seemed determined to shatter all confidence within the team. we could be in for a decent season this term.

Blatantly obvious that we lack pace. Guile yes - with Stevie, Kuyt and Cole. .but we can't counter attack effectively without pace.
When Utd break away they have played the same way since 1993 - 5 players all bomb forward and any of the 5 can score goals.
We have 2, maybe 3. And all except Stevie and Torres lack pace. .
We need 2 pacy wingers and I'd personally raise £40million quid by selling more deadwood. Babel (£7), Insua (£3), Kyriakos (£2), El Zhar (£1), Nemeth (£2), Plessis (£1), Cavalieri (£2.5), Spearing (£1.5) & Masch (£20). .my view is either play these players or sell them.
They're no use to us sat on the bench and we have better options anyway. .
Splash all the £40m on two pacy left and right wingers - what do you guys reckon?? - think who we could get 2 x £20m players!

Absolutely fantastic performance in the second half of yesterday's match by the lads. down to 10, our 'back up' striker scores a peach, not to mention, arsenal still couldn't score. .reina had to do it for them. a 1 off by pepe me thinks, opening game jitters i assume. expect a reinvented liverpool to that of last year. keep players on the field and we may well automatically qualify for champions league next season.my prediction - 3rd, which, i think, would be a fair position. new manager, players coming who have to gel with the rest of the squad, players leaving, uncertainty over ownership of LFC etc. ill be happy though if roy could just win away from home. .didnt have much luck with that at fulham

After Purslow's comments yesterday does anyone know who the other bidders are? I personally think the board don't like the fact that the Syrian and Kenny Huang are doing their business through the media and will take another bid

I figured liverpool needed to beat Arsenal
+ man city to get into a top 4 place. at the moment 5th place is the best they can hope for.

All this talk about Ngog not being good enough to be back up stirker he was on fire to day, in pre season and in europa qualifying. the finish againts arsenal and the second goal he scored againts Rabotnicki was world class. i say let his confidence build and watch the next Henry!

Does anybody know who our 8 home grown players are or are likely to be

If no players are bought prob

1. Gerrard
2. Carragher
3. Spearing
4. Kelly
5. Insua if deal is not completed
6. Johnson
7. Joe Cole
8. Pacheco
9. Shelvey
10.Darby

Might use Nemeth if Insua leaves unless liverpool buy . .

This site used to be reputable but since it's become Liverpool rumours only we seem to be swamped by people just emailing their fantasy teams. I used to look forward to reading this site and now just feel like i'm invading on a fourteen year old's personal message board. I used to look forward to reading this site, and Ed's comments were a fair measure to what might or might not be in the pipeline. Now it is just rubbish after rubbish after rubbish. I have never claimed to know anyone who works at Liverpool but I am a fan of twenty one years and since this site has become a teenager's personal make believe zone I feel less and less inclined to read anymore. A sad end to what was one of my favourite site's. Bad times. stevieslaces

likely to be GERRARD, JOHNSON, CARRAGHER, PACHECO, COLE, KELLY,
ECCLESTON, SPEARING or Brad Jones instead of Eccleston(if we sign him!).

Gerrard played brilliant today showed alot of passion, was tackling and had an incredible workrate!

By the way anyone else clock onto jovanovic's diving header fail found that hilarious! But he was good too especially knocking sagna out when he ran with tje ball like 5 mins in loved that do need another striker though we do!

The person who wrote this above must have been watching a different game to me.
Kuyt was excellent, Jovanovic was awsome, Ngog is like a new man(still needs 5 chances to score 1), Carragher was amazing. Agger was a hero, Joe cole done well but needs games, Gerrard didn't play well, and needs to give other people a chance on free kicks, but he will imporove, Mascherano stunk and needs to go now, only interested in kicking people. I respect your views, but I think we are looking good, possibly great.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Do not delude yourself! Kuyt was not excellent and Joe Cole barely touched the ball. I have to agree though Jovanovic looks like he is going to be a real favourite of the Kop and I thought Gerrard had a steady game. If you think Mascherano is only interested in kicking people then wait until you see Poulsen play.
