Hi ed's
Just wondering if anyone knew the purpose of Ian ayres delayed trip to brazil? Holiday or business? And if business if anyone can shed any light on the reasons for it? Probably looking too much into it but just wondered if it had anything to do with any players at the confederations cup? {Ed002's Note - I explained earlier.}

Sorry ed I haven't read all day so a brief answer would be appreciated {Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

People are just asking names of Random players constantly on here.
The eds have explained in detail what players they expect to come. Mickey, Alberto, Mignolet, Aspas.
After that its guess work.
Thats 5 new players already without releasing big names yet.
I am also tired of people saying fsg are not investing enough money. They have spent copious amounts if that is a correct term for money.
Also quit having a go at the eds for they said this and that about potential transfers that do not happen.
What people fail to realise is that transfer targets can switch very rapidly, pending each parties priorities and the costs involved. #Rant over

The Mkhitayan deal seems very likely, most papers claiming he is valued at 22mil and we have bid between 17-20m, how much are shaktar willing to move off on their 22mil valuation, I don't believe they have financial trouble and surely a couple of other clubs would possibly move for mkhitaryan, like juve?

Evening reds and eds,
I like the way in which we are trying to buy Suarez's replacement before he has been sold.
This puts us in a much stronger bargaining position in my opinion because we won't be desperate to take any offer if it falls below our valuation as we would not need too. We should release a statement after we have bought Mickey stating that Suarez can go for 50 million (a fair price in my opinion) and not a penny less ( I would accept 45 rising to 50 after his first bite!). This would allow us to say to Suarez "we are willing to sell you" and would reduce the chances of a club trying to sign him on the cheap. Suarez would know that if he kicks off and goes on strike then we would not suffer as much as he may think due to the fact that we already have his replacement playing as well.
Would welcome any thoughts.
p. s I don't usually watch you tube clips but I just watched the Luis Alberto one. If we don't get him signed up QUICK then we are persons.

If BR signs Ilori, how will Wisdom fit in? Ilori will be a youth/3rd choice cb but that's where Wisdom should be. Would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wisdom will be 4th choice cb but 2nd choice rb as that is his prefered position

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe you can wait to see what BR does.

This is why I like wisdom and Kelly both can cover the centerback and right back position. Heck I think we can play well with 3 good cb and have Johnson and Enrique bombing down the wings.

disney pl is terrible, not just because you win it, what does that say about us in seventh. its a fact. would a 40 year old giggs have got in to man u team 10 years ago, no is answer. same with scholes. cleverly is tripe. carrick I have to say has improved, but out classed in europe. look at pl teams in cl last season. 4 cl wins for pl sides, all lucky ones last min goals, crazy comebacks and on pens. now even further behind, no pl side will beat b munich or barca next season. that's why I said Liverpool have a great chance to climb up the league this season, are we a strong 11 or 18, no way but neither are are arsenal or spurs. chelsea will be better under special one but going back to old clubs usually ends in disaster. roll on next season.

B O H

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Even if you bought the players you are linked to and kept Suarez, I do not see Liverpool getting in the top four. I think 6th is the best Liverpool can hope for next season. I think some Liverpool fans are in danger of building themselves up for a great fall. Liverpool will inevitably lose that fear factor which you had with Torres, then again with Suarez. You will lose the big characters in the dressing room like Reina & Carragher.

I am putting no pressure on Moyes to win anything next season, so I cannot be disappointed. He will need a season to get his feet under the table and if he wins anything it will be a bonus. However I feel MU fans will be pleasantly surprised next season. If he can fix the obvious issues like LB area and the midfield, then we can only be stronger than last season.

Disney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha moyes is under more pressure than anyone next year and tbh disney I don't think it matters wether you are putting pressure on him or not. if he doesn't do well the fans will want his head utd fans can't take a loss without freaking out

United are finished. They will spend years in the doldrums and their fans will not be able to handle it. Football works in cycles, and Moyes most certainly isn't a good replacement for old whiskey nose. he's won NOTHING, ZILCH, ZERO, Nicht, NEIN, nothing in 11 years.

United are heading for mid table position, or even worse. If I was you disney, start practising some humility because its a new art that your going to need. Moyes will destroy United, he bottles it EVERY time there is an important game to win. The only way is down now

Tel 1949

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Tel here, nobody is going to experience a harsh crash to earth like United next year. You like to believe that your team is the best in the league but your players are mainly average, you just had a world class manager to make them play better much better than they are. That's gone now and Moyes is no Ferguson.

Nevada

Agree0 Disagree0

Try practising a bit of humility yourself, Tel 1949, and show a bit of class. Utd haven't lost anything yet and we certainly haven't won anything. It's way too early to start laughing at the Mancs. If suarez leaves (which is likely) i'd want no one other than Luis Muriel as the main striker to come in as second to Sturridge.

but Muriel couldn't replace suarez on his own so i'd also like Alvaro Morata to come in alongside Muriel. (Apsas is coming regardless whether Suarez stays or goes)

Reason; we would be loosing Suarez who has done the job of 2/3 players for much of the first half of the season, 1 striker coming in isn't going to cut it.

strikers we have after Aspas signs would be

Suarez, Sturridge, Aspas, Borini

compared to what we would have if we didn't have suarez

Sturridge, Aspas, Borini. which isn't going to cut it at all. we have to remember Sturridge is prone to annoying niggles and Borini is almost guaranteed to miss 3months of a season.

you add both Luis Muriel and Alvaro Morata then we have options

Sturridge 23, Aspas 25, Muriel 22, Borini 22, Morata 20

AND. would be good seeing Sturridge and Muriel having dance-offs. which means goals! :D

if we could bring in; mignolet, steele, kolo, papadopoulos, ilori, sandro, juraj kucka, mkhitaryan, alberto, muriel, morata then that would be a good summer.

most would think it's impossible but remember we might lose 10+ players this summer and on top of that we have a thin squad already. so that means adding new faces like Aspas and Alberto as well as replacing every player leaving.

being; carragher, gulacsi, reina, skrtel, coates, carroll, suarez, spearing & possibly shelvey, downing.

then you have those like Flanagan, Robinson and Wilson who will be replaced internally by McLaughlin, Smith and Wisdom/Sama

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Liverpool play with ONE striker. Why wouldn't Borini, Sturridge & Aspas be enough? Bare in mind there is Yesil, Morgan & others in the U21's. MK has been pretty much playing as a striker for SD for the entire season, hence the 25 goals or so. I cannot see another forward being signed, but stranger things have happened.

Eds please answer with your respected opinion, and other posters please.

Suarez circus. Latest sounds like he staying. I mean the club have said neither he or agent have contacted them re moving.
He mentions his family are settled. His daughter sings YNWA. When RM propaganda paper question him playing for Madrid he says they are a top team a dream of young boys etc, but do you know what is like to play for Liverpool? He said Liverpool was his dream as a boy.
Is he back tracking because RM are linked with Bale Isco Cavani etx and others which mean they cannot be spending £200m surely buying all these so he may miss out?
Is he back tracking due to his agent or LFC official having a long overdue word?
Has this just been a joke for Luis to waste press time and get them back in a small way?
Is he seeing the players coming in, loves LFC and thinks one more yr and can see top 4 finish

The players incoming are required as BR said to add depth and improve. Aspas is a deal which must of started a while before Suarez press chats so not a replacement. FSG are backing Rodgers as promised so are we not relying on Suarez going to fund but staying to push for top4. {Ed030's Note - I think he will leave mate he is trying not to upset Liverpool fans as I think he genuinely Likes the club but if he loved it enough he wouldn't go so I am unsure what to make of it mate. }

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think and hope he stays, he's under contract. (Think his wife has had a word in his ear)
I realise some players, it would be a waste of time retaining them under such circumstances but Luis is the type of player that would find it impossible to sulk as once he's out on that pitch he just wants to play.
Lfc our club needs CL qualification more than we need to get rid of Suarez.
So club 1st, player 2nd and keep him.
We have to get top4! it's means everything to our club 5 time European Champions.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to get rid of Suarez ASAP.

Last thing we need is a mentally unstable player who will be banned for a chunk of the season and perpetuate the media circus. And let's be honest there will be another incident.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ED030 for the reply, I posted the question (unsigned in error)

It is difficult to judge isn't it. One minute I think he'll go, then I think he's just taking the P out of the press and he'll stay.

Even his chats are 50/50 yo can read them either way

Carlo

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you serious? Yes we need CL football but Suarez as been here for 2 and a half seasons and we haven't gotten there yet.

When we last won the European Cup we didn't have any of our previous 30 goals a season strikers (Owen had already left and Torres didn't come yet)

Nothing is wrong with the goals being spread among 5 or 6 players, what is important is that they come. We don't NEED Suarez, what we need is balance and players who work hard for each other and for the team even when games aren't going our way.

People keep on talking about how hard Suarez will work once he gets back on the pitch but we seem to have forgotten that he'll be out there with 10 team mates. What about them? How will they view the man playing alongside them knowing he doesn't want to be there? What will they think when they see him sulking during games (and he does).

Give me a rock solid defense over a wantaway world class striker any day.

Hi Eds

I have supported the Reds for many years now, I rememeber the glory days of Dalglish, Rush and Paisley.

What has been apparent throughout all this time is that the one thing Liverpool nearly always achieve is creating excellent centre forwards and goalscorers. I am not sure whether we have been lucky over time or whether we have been very shrewd.

However nearly all the forwards Liverpool have had have excelled and surpassed the club and even their own expectations. This I believe is solely due to the support and encouragement of the Liverpool faithfull, sucessful Liverpool centre forwards are given almost a god like position within the club, and historically they play with no fear and full of confidence.

So what I an getting too is that whether Suarez goes or stays will make no difference to the club, however will make a massive difference to the player. Take a look at Rush, Aldridge, Owen, Fowler, Torres, who all reached their peak at Liverpool. They never reached the goal scoring achievements at Liverpool before they arrived at the club or when they finally left. So I am confident who ever replaces Suarez will suceed, as long as they have the ability and attitude then they will be successful, and I also believe, as with Rush, Owen and Torres, Suarez will never reach the goal scoring heights he reached at Liverpool.

So let's say goodbye to Suarez, wish him luck and as the old saying goes "the king is dead, long live the king" and welcome the next new big center forward to the club.

Its Suarez loss not ours.

Suarez at Ajax: Apps - 110 Goals - 81

That's a scoring rate of 0. 73 goals per game

At Liverpool: Apps - 77 Goals 38

That's a goal ratio of 0. 49 goals per game.

So not all Liverpool strikers reached their peak at Liverpool.

So you could really argue

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic post mate and spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not our loss losing the top goalscorer?

It's Suarez' loss potentially moving to Real Madrid?

It's a good post, but let's be real.

A journalist today stated that after observing a Uruguay training game, Suarez didn't even look out of breath. Add that to his sheer class and commitment and that, to me, confirms it is our loss.

DaveyBootle

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not a fantastic post at all babel was awesome in Dutch league kromkamp seemed a decent player and there's others too I think dirk Kuyt was top scorer 2 seasons on the bounce before joining us, the Dutch league is a relatively poor league in comparison so you would expect a very good striker to go over there and have a good goals to game ratio.

Hi eds great work on the site completely addicted.
Just wondering why so many people are writing about our potential signings compared to last year and if they make out team stronger on paper. This makes no difference to what we achieve this year, clearly the quality of the player has an effect on the league position but at the end of the day it is a team game and it is not necessarily the team that is man for man better that wins, bayern Munich beat Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate but I don't know many people who believe that on paper they are a 7 goals better team. Out best performance this year for me was out 6-0 victory over Newcastle which was without Suarez, now I am not trying to say that we are better without Suarez my point is just that on that day out team was on paper weakened by his absence but in practice we performed better than in previous or subsequent games involving a seemingly stronger starting 11. Also saying we finished outside Europe last year and this year we will be no stronger is a ridiculous statement as the team that finished the season was well capable of challenging for a European place it was out poor start that let us down, a start which included unusually poor and under par performances from gerrard, a disturbed and unsettled back four, an un fit and not match sharp Lucas, no sturridge, no coutinho, a very under confident Henderson and downing and completely untried players with no experience such as wisdom and suso and sterling as well as the distraction of Europa league, this year the youngsters will be more experienced there will be no Europe to distract us, Henderson is full of confidence and looks a good player, downing is confident and useful is he stays and Lucas will be fit and have a season under his belt and sturridge and coutinho will be there from the start not to mention adding borini who will be like a new signing as he never played last year so all in all I think it is shaping up well. Yes losing Suarez is a blow but if we can pick up two or three players to add squad depth who can be on the same wavelength in terms of passing and moving as sturridge and coutinho then I don't see there bring any problem or reason to be down about the season ahead

Question for the regular posters on here, off the topic of transfer rumours. Who do you reckon were the stand-out players this season just gone who didn't get the praise they deserved? As much as it pains me to say it, I'd probably go with Carrick for United, he was consistently brilliant.

The new season fixture list is due out on Wednesday June 19th at 9. 00 am. It will be interesting to see who we'll get to start and if we'll get a home game for a change. If we could get out of the blocks early for a change it would be nice. With all the movement of players would you love to get City or Chelsea early (1st 3 weeks) or does it make a difference?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We did well against Man City during early season. In fact if I recall 2-1 up until Skrtel tried a back pass without looking which lost us the points.
Seems a lifetime ago we were adjusting to Tika taka. Over playing at the back passing for the sake of it. This cost us in the early part along with the transfer window. But this time it'll be different

Maybe Chelsea at the bridge first game and nick a 2-1 win then Everton at home 2nd game 3-0. Nice eh.

Carlo

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Paul, I think it makes a big difference, just think back to last few seasons, we have usually been given a tough start, then, say Man U have been given a handy first few games, what happens then, is that even after 3 games, we are already playing catch-up, and yes I do think it will be the same this time, so for me, it will be a tough away game for us, and a handy home game for united, I predict, one of the promoted sides.

With regards to Suarez quite clearly in the press stating 'the club need to listen to the player in situations like this' isn't that as good as handing in a transfer request and can the club not penalise him financially accordingly? It just seems strange to me that even though the players seem to supposedly have all the power these days they can get away with trouncing the rules so blatantly!
de neen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think that Liverpool Fc are playing this the right way, saying nothing, and letting Suarez talk his way into everyones bad books, the media don't like that he has let this great club, and fans down, and badly, after backing him every time he has messed up, so just let him talk, and ignore him, for as long as possible, I say this, even though I was one of his biggest fans, and now feel that he has let us all down.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jun 2013 20:03:58
The players coming in are maybe targeted because they would fit the system.
In my opinion

Toure is a slight upgrade on Carragher
Aspas is a better player than downing and the competition with downing will improve our right hand side.
Luis Alberto looks a huge upgrade on shelvy
So those am very happy with.

Mignolet seems to be replacing Reina
Unsure if that is an upgrade or not because Reina was brilliant for the last half of the season.

Mkhitaryan is a brilliant player but he seems to be replacing Suarez so I doubt that would be an upgrade if we compare players but the team may improve, only time will tell I guess.
Ilori seems very inexperienced and I don't know who the club wants to replace Skrtel, because I would have thought Martin Kelly will take Coates place and that might mean Ilori is seen as Skrtel's replacement and that's just wrong. We need a better defender than Skrtel to come with Ilori, We need a left back, a defesive midfielder and if downing goes we certainly need a RW. I don't know if Coady and Robinson will step up next season or Downing & Skrtel are staying or going, but as it's shaping up I am sad to say I think next season has "transitional" written all over it. Unless we invest in a couple of quality replacements for Skrtel & Downing.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are replaceing Caroll with apes? {Ed030's Note - I did not know apes could play football however apparently we originated from apes so maybe a ape could replace Carroll. }

How do you not add without replacing?

With the exception of carra on present form all the new ins you list seem an upgrade / more suitable and thus we are adding by replacing.

The real AG

Agree0 Disagree0

We are just buying players for the sake of it. None of the players you mention will improve the squad, apart from Micky. And with Suarez going, we will be a weaker side next season unless we get some decent players in

Agree0 Disagree0

Aspas and Alberto are raised on the football we play - they will fit seamlessly into our style. It is only the pace and physicality of the EPL that will test them in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of the players will improve the squad? Isn't that a funny thing to say.

Hasn't Coutinho improved the squad? And who knew, after all the talk of he wasn't good enough for Inter so he's not good enough for us.

None of us know how our new signings will affect the squad, what we know is they are mostly young players which means potential for growth and improvement.

We might all be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Ed's & Macca,

I've heard from my source that suggests should Suarez leave, Liverpool would reinvest that by breaking the bank to sign Eric Lamela.

Although I know it seems farfetched I am inclined to believe him because of previous information & how Lamela would very much fit into our system (4-3-3 & 4-2-3-1)

He is also incredibly creative & quick out of the blocks like Suarez, and seems to have an eye for goal. I know your feelings on the chances suggest you don't think we have a chance, However has any new information come to light for yourselves? or Macca?

the club seems to be increasingly watertight in terms of information going out, However you can always rely on the selling club 'leaking' information in order to start a bidding frenzy so perhaps maybe anything from Roma? or Lamela's agent?

Hey el pistolero

Haven't been on here for a while but I posted a spoof post on banter about 3 weeks ago asking who alonso was and proclaiming to be a supporter for 30 years- you were the only one who appeared to appreciate the banter and offered a very witty response. Well played lad.

I recall being hammered by some chap called Ali g who failed to see the funny side.

Barnes was best.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so Pistelero because we need someone. The thought of Aspas replacing Suarez makes me want to spew up my lasagne. But, with the club inquiring on the availability of Benteke this gives me hope. At least they are monitoring players

So going by the sources and Speculation and what we already know will happen, Liverpool will probably sign:

Mignolet
Llori
Toure
Alberto
MK
Aspas

They will replace:

Reina
Carragher
Coates
Skrtel
Shelvey
Assaidi
Downing
Suarez

My question to all is: If these are the final ins and outs will you have a stronger squad and first XI than last season? Thanks.

Disney!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I reckon we will also add Papadopoulos, a back-up LB and possibly a Suarez replacement to the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt it. As it is we have a thin squad so I think there will be more signings especially after Suarez leaves.

Red PG

Agree0 Disagree0

One more cb, papadopulas I hope. also one more striker. don't forget sturridge and cutinho are there from the start. suarez is a loss on the field not off it though. will all depend on start imo. top 3/4 can easily be obtained, pl is very weak right now.

B O H

Agree0 Disagree0

One has to ask, what has it got to do with you sidney? Whos to say that they will be our final ins mate? The word speculation sums up your entire post!

Ian the red

Agree0 Disagree0

It really is hard to say without having a chance to see the team. It's just a stab in the dark. I'd say our attacking line-up would be possibly the strongest it has been in years, but our defence needs significantly more work than just Toure and Ilori I reckon. Toure will be a solid experienced team player and Ilori a fantastic prospect, although time will tell as to whether he can replicate form in the PL straight away (which is unlikely). By and large I think the business being conducted by the club is very shrewd.

JFT 96

JP

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy knows his stuff, Do you live in Liverpool Disney? YNWA man!

Agree0 Disagree0

No we would certainly not but to be honest if you do the maths the in's plus owners money doesn't add up we would have a lot of money if you add Carroll so I think we will bring two more players for 15million give or take suarez will leave a big gap Rogers will fill it with someone don't worry

Agree0 Disagree0

I suspect you're going to get a lot of people rubbishing your post as for some reason many seem to think we're going to sign some sort of marquee player to replace Suarez, but I suspect you are correct and this is largely what will happen. I do think Downing will stay at least another season and he and Aspas will compete for one of the wide roles. I also think if Skrtel (which seems very possible) goes we could be in for another CB, although not someone as expensive as Papadopoulos would be (not sure who, but someone to push for 3rd choice after Agger/Toure).

Is it better? I don't know, but I do think this would represent a much more balanced team with stronger subs and perhaps a stronger overall starting 11 than what we have now. Much would depend on how well the team plays together and works as a unit but I can see us pushing for a top 4 spot with a team of Mignolet, Enrique, Agger, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Mkhitaryan, Countinho, Sturridge, and Aspas with Downing, Llori, Borini, Kelly, Henderson, Alberto, Jones on the bench pushing for a starting 11 spot and Suso/Wisdom/et al pushing them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with players in you list.
IF, Suarez goes and we replace him with Muriel and if we add Papa the mad Greek I genuinely believe we will at least get a top four spot.
I think we can see light at the end of the tunnel (I just hope its not a Train coming in the opposite direction!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't it be Pap or Llori? Couldn't Pearce be signed with Toure & Llori? Wouldn't Aspas, MK, Coutinho, Sturridge, Alberto, Sterling, Suso, Borini & Ibe be enough in attack? I cannot see another attacking player signed. I think there will be no room for another striker/forward. Liverpool will only play with one striker, MK would play behind the striker and there is two spaces either side and so many candidates.

B O H, there is no way of knowing if the EPL will be weaker than last season. If Spurs retain Bale and MU, Chelsea, MC & Arsenal spend like their expected to, then it will be a tougher season next season. Chelsea & City will be stronger without doubt. If MU get the players we want then we will be stronger. Spurs will spend well and only really need strikers.

I think if you finished 7th with Suarez, I cannot see a massive improvement without him. I also think you will miss big characters from the dressing room.

Disney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Shelvey & Downing will stay and if Papa don't sign then i'd imagine Skrtel will also stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think downing will stay to mate and no doubt we will be stronger in areas as we won't be relying on the youngsters as much as we did.
But as Red Pg said losing suarez will hurt no doubt about it, But i'm hoping we can get some decent players with his cash. and still think 5th maybe 4th isn't out our reach.

Agree0 Disagree0

A year under the belt of the younger players. Having Coutihno and Sturridge from the statt of the season. Selling Suarez and buying a few other players. Moving on the likes of Coates, Skrtle and Assaidi and buying players that might compete for a starting spot. what's not to like?

The Irish Rover

Agree0 Disagree0

There will be a shift in the order of the teams competing at the top over the next few seasons.
Been saying for that a while, the Premier League needs shaking up in the same way the Bundesliga has been over the last few seasons.
The time is ripe for the old brigade to move aside and bright new young managers to take over, I believe Rodgers along with Avb will be such a manager.
Ferguson has gone Wenger will soon be gone, How long will the Chelsea and City managers last?
Every true football supporter would like their club to be run on the right lines.
The smugness of manu, chelsea and city needs to be checked for the good of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ian, it's all a question of "what if". It was a hypothetical question. I think evidence points to those particular players being signed as it stands of now. Obviously things will change over the next couple of months.

But I will say this lads, if this is how Liverpool's transfer window goes and it is an if right now, then as a MU fan I can say that I cannot wait to do the double over you again next season ;)

Disney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well knowing that your manager likes to play a safety first pressing game, I wouldn't bet on the double against any team you play, Sydney.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we all forgotten Big Andy Carroll, and that we should get a few million for the kitty, maybe even by the end of next week, good post Disney, even though you finished with a negative for us, well I will tell you this, BR will be a much better manager now, and I believe that we will def finish higher and better than last season, also I can see Man U not in top two come next May,
redforever

Agree0 Disagree0

I think another CB will need to be added to your list Sydney. As Ed002 points out, there is clear interest and Liverpool have continues to show interest when Chelsea, Dortmund backed out. I suspect an agreement could be reached late in the window, if not, another CB will definitely come in.

I also don't think Downing will go.

It is not necessarily about having the best players, but having the best squad that work well together that is important and I fancy our chances next season.

As for Mu doing a double over LFC, we will see man, we will see :)

The real AG

PS: Why is "Speculation" in you OP starting with a capital S?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a weaker squad than last year because Suarez is going. BR must add some quality. Only Micky on that list is any good. The other names could be swapped with any name out there it wouldn't make a difference what so ever

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2013 18:24:17
Mignolet, Aspas and Toure upto now. These players won't dramatically improve the squad. Talk of top 4 this season is ridiculous. I hope these players are being done quickly because the quality signings will be arriving once Carroll Skrtel and Suarez are sold. You'll all probably pop your heads out from Brendans a** now and have a go, but the fact is Spurs Arsenal and Everton still have better players than us, which is why we are ATM a mid table side

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more and they are yet to buy! I also understand bale will stay as well!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling you're going to be very disappointed then.

My suspicion is that what we recover from Suarez, Skrtel, Reina, and Carroll will just about cover Aspas, Ilori, Mkhitaryan, Mignolet, Alberto, and Toure's signing fee. I wouldn't expect much more except perhaps another CB as 3rd choice (but not an expensive one like Papadopoulos).

Agree0 Disagree0

"Ignorant post! Ignoring a number of factors"
Sturridge and Coutinho arrived in January from which time we played on a par with and better than a top4 side.
When Coutinho and Sturridge settle in properly we will see them in an even better light.
Aspas and Mickey if they happen look like they'll be shrewd and class signings that will make us even stronger than we were in the 2nd half of last season.

I hope Ian Ayre's postponed trip to Brazil for an urgent business meeting with the club has nothing to do with the on-going Man City espionage saga!

Newspapers are aware of the premiere league club who has hacked into the Man City Scouting Data Base but are not allowed to say.

Or perhaps a better explanation is that the Eds are the hackers and that explains how they have such good info all the time?

Just a thought!

Liverpool fan coming in peace. Just wanted to know how much you all rate Mignolet as he is 'close' to sign for LFC according to numerous sources. Views from the Sunderland based ed as well as Sunderland fans will be appreciated.

Cheers
VGRed {Ed024's Note - I rate Migs in top 3 in premiership - his one weakness is his lack of physical presence - he doesn't intimidate forwards - but shot stopping, positioning, communication - top notch. }

Also all of Sunderland fans weren't moaning about him leaving and believed that he is one of the best keepers in the league. I for one will be happy if we sign him!
I'd like the thoughts of fellow reds and the Liverpool supporting eds too.

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me, the only loss in loosing pepe and gaining minolet (spelling) is the distribution. He is a top keeper though.

Realistic red

Agree0 Disagree0

I would describe Mignolet as a 'safe' keeper. Like Begovic he is a safe pair of hands. Nothing flashy, not world-class, nor has the potential to be, but a good pair of safe hands.

Disney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as dominant as Begovic but a very very good keeper and has at least 10 years left at the top level. He was the main reason Sunderland stayed up imo. Happy to have him.

Bulmer

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with what has already been said the only 1 problem I see is his distribution like most goalkeepers not just in the epl but in the world are no where near as good as Reina. But overall is a very good choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say a lot safer than your doughnut clown Disney.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not to many world class keepers about IMO Disney but a safe pair of hands would do me fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland fans I've always found to be quite knowledgeable and I would say in 3rd place behind Liverpool and Arsenal fans.
That's been my experience over the years.
Liverpool
Arsenal
Sunderland
Crewe
Southampton
West Ham
Celtic
City
Villa

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet is still a young keeper, and will learn a lot from playing for Liverpool FC, they will work on his weak points, and while I was a pepe Reina fan, he was poor over the last 2/3 seasons, only came back to form after January this last season, maybe to put himself in the shop window, so over a season, maybe Mignolet is the better goalie

Mignolet 9m

I mean I knew he had It in him but this is getting beyond a joke! So disrespectful to fans that have stuck by him through all his crap. I thought he would appreciate it more but guess not.

Suarez can FSG off now. I don't even wanna wish him luck he's shown that much disrespect he could of left and fans would of understood! But this is just ridiculous.

Sorry about the rant haha

London red {Ed019's Note - It's disappointing, but he did the same to join Liverpool. /he is trying to backtrack now just in case RM decide to go for Cavani, Bale or Lewandowski}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope we sell him to be honest the club stuck by him and this is how he repays is, if he wanted to leave then he should of had a word with the Manger behind closed doors rather than shouting his mouth off, someone will buy him this summer weather that's Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Atheltico Madrid, PSG, Monaco or 1 of the Russian clubs, the club should demand the same fee we got for Torres but I feel it may well drag on and the club will end up accepting £40M which is a good price considering his attitude problems. Top 3 or 4 is my prediction next Season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone knows modern players need babysitting because every time they go away on "holiday" they slag off their employers, I mean we have all done it, we work 9 to 5 in jobs and as soon as we get a break we call our boss/employer all the names under the sun knowing full well when we get back that they our the ones who put money in to our account come the end of the month. Suarez is behaving like a spoilt child and should be told in no uncertain terms to wind his neck in. Will that happen, prob not because in modern football the employee holds all the aces in the deck. The Bosman ruling in general was a a good thing but the lack of dotting i's and crossing t's has left every football club at the mercy of "employees" and agents won't and will. Sorry bout the rant. I just need to vent. Great site, great banter, keep up the exceptional work eds as I can imagine this time of year your head must be spinning.

Just a thought concerning Assaidi. Is he likely to leave? The thing is, each time I've seen him play (admittedly I've not seen all the games last season) he has looked decent with a good ability to beat defenders. Also this season is his first, he has had niggly injuries etc So I'm wondering if we might see the best of him next season sort of like Robert Pires at Arsenal a while back. I'm not saying he's a world beater or anything but the kid has ability. Anyway with BR seeing him close at hand in training every day has he come to any conclusions about him because even when fit he wasn't in the team last season. I'd be curious if the ed's know any inside info about how much the club rate him and what his future prospects at Liverpool are likely to be. Also very happy with BR as manager and hope he continues to get fan and board support. I believe in the path we have chosen for success which is both sustainable and pragmatic and not dependent on chucking ridiculous money into the hands of unscrupulous agents and prima donna footballers. Anyway cheers and as always appreciate the work you ed's do.

Not sure why but really think Torres loved the fans and club I know he left and said some disappointing things but nothing on a par with the way Suarez is acting now. My view is that BR is trying to sign players who have a desire the desire to play for LFC and wear the shirt with pride you don't have to sign all the worlds most expensive players but players who have great work ethics. We used to do this look at Rush, Beardsley and Dalglish. We didn't spend over the top for these. Let's trust BR I am sure if we can hit the ground running then there is no reason we can't push on again this season. You never know.

eds u say alberto aspas and hm are replacements for suarez? so in your opinion with all the money the club will make from trasnfers this season we still ain't going to spend big we could potentially break the 75m barrier in sales alone and players on high wages. if this is the case then hm aspas alberto 35m for suarez at least 40 that's them made 5m profit already not including reina, coates, skrtel, assaidi, shelvey carrol. illori and all rest won't cost that this is a time were we should be spending big when we finish season so well. at least what we get in sales. cardiff are thinking of spending 14m on gomis. out of owners pockets what about us no player sales, this is a club with Liverpool status. fans need to start thinking and doing figures in there head to realise what is happening here {Ed002's Note - I can't make head or tail of this - sorry. If he had approached the club behind closed doors and said that he wanted to leave things might be different right now. Instead like a coward he has chosen the easy way out by using the media to blame the UK press and advertising himself in the process to all the big spenders sending the message to come and get him.

He has been nothing but trouble and trouble will follow him wherever he goes so he can take the baggage that he brought with him from Ajax plus the baggage he now has at Anfield and leave plus take all that baggage to the new club he will be joining. Trouble will follow Suarez wherever he goes. He is his own worst enemy and Liverpool will be better without him.

No way, mate. He will get what he wants, and to be honest, it's the right time for him and Liverpool to go. I love watching the guy play, but he's an accident waiting to happen. I wish him well and look forward to watching Mkhitaryan instead.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way I would want to see that ungrateful wretch wear the famous red jersey ever again. He has embarrassed the club with his stupid interviews, dragged our club's name through the mud. The biting incident indicated the writing was on the wall. The person wants out, and we should let him go but only on our terms. If say Bayern come up with a better offer, we should sell to them, and not Real.
MY VERDICT: GREAT PLAYER BUT A PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A HUMAN BEING. {Ed002's Note -

No good getting all indignant over a few comments? When we are where we are? Not qualifying for the CL.
If Suarez staying gives Lfc a better chance of CL qualification then that will be for the good of Lfc.
If he leaves and we fail again? What good your indignation then?
He's under contract to us and we need CL next season minimum? So I say for the good of Lfc (Suarez is in the top 5 players in the World) make him stay for at least one more season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two of the first 6 games are in the league cup, if Suarez stays it's my bet he'll still play more league games than almost any other forward in the premier, as the lad apart from being an amazingly gifted footballer is also as tough as teak and I can't remember him missing a single game through injury.

By the way >>> Luis you must be Kidding me. "We are both out of the country but most of the negotiations are done and the financial agreement between us and Liverpool is in place, " Allardyce told the Sunday People.

"It's about communicating with Andy and his agent between London, here in Spain where I am and Florida where Andy is.

"I've no real need to speak to him over his decision. I've spoken to him enough times so he knows what I think and it's up to him.

I think we should hold on to Suarez until January if possible, it looks like RM have engineered something with Suarez reps to force a move, and after all he missed 18 games through suspensions of some sort which he caused. not the club. I think he's chancing his arm, and the fact that Cavanni may be going to RM could be a factor too. If the club got 40 million which they should hold for, they should take hand and all, Suarez would!

Mignolet in

Does this mean no more reina and jones

Plus who would also be brought in to cover mignolet. I heard of this kid from anderlecht kaminski But I'm not sure if we Are interested

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would Jones leave? He signed a long-term contract last season. He is here to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was just a one year extension.
Although I don't know why the club offered it.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is jus my thought.

Valdes stays barca another yr to get a big signin on fee next year, they don't need reina right now.

We buy mignolet (as we need a gk) and have him play and learn from/with reina for this year, improvin year round, next year, Valdes leaves, reina leaves, mignolet becomes number 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brad Jones is contracted through to 2016. Finding a competent GK who is happy to sit on the bench for much of the season as second choice is tough. That is why he was given contract extension last December.

Besides, with Gulacsi and Doni gone, we are really short of keepers. Wouldn't be surprised if we get another keeper this transfer window (not an expensive one, one in the sub £1m range).

Looking forward to watching tonights game Spain v Uruguay.
I know our Luis is a pest in some ways but I just love watching the lad play. Could be one of the last times we can enjoy watching him as Liverpool player in an International.
There'll be fantastic World Class players all over the pitch in this but none as exciting and explosive as Luis Suarez.
Spain will probably play without a recognised striker again?
And as the game is being played in South America which will ensure support for Uruguay, my advice is get down the bookies and take the 5-1 betting odds for Uruguay to win, as the are certain to score (Suarez and Cavani the two best goalsorers on the pitch) where as Spain for all they'll boss possession are not as certain to score.

Completely agree that Brazil were fairly poor last night but you can't deny that every now and then over the 90 minutes they just turn it on. When they have these small periods they are fantastic and slick. Japan were fairly poor in attack but they were decent in defense and each of the goals Brazil scored cut the defense apart in a sublime piece of play and skill.
People may be slating Jo being in the team ahead of Pato or Robinho but he scored did he not? Does that not justify his place? He may not have the same renown as the other two but once he is picked all he can do is take his chance and you would argue that after scoring he did exactly that.
What will be interesting is when Brazil cannot get 5-6 in or around the box against Spain or Argentina, when we can see how disciplined the young team will be.

Hi Editors
Not so much a rumour but if Suarez really wants to go and he is trying to force Liverpools hand so he can go to RM. Why do Liverpool not come out and say they are prepared to sell him and hopefully start a bidding war with teams such as RM, Barcelona, PSG etc. Why should he force us to where he wants to go? {Ed052's Note - it would do the opposite of causing a bidding war. We could be held to ransom, and get a lower fee if we actively try to offload him}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Also BR, Ayre and FSG won't want the fans to think that the club are wanting to sell Suarez, they will make it clear that if he leaves it is due to him forcing his way out, similar to how Torres left

Question for ed01/02

If the rumours are true and we do end up getting Mkhitaryan, does that pretty much mean that Coutinho will be used mainly as a wide left player? Am I correct in thinking that Mkhitaryan will be used at the front of the midfield three?

Also, do you know of any interest in anyone for the RW position, excluding Ince?

Thanks in advance

Hey Everyone. I was just wondering, how is a bid submitted. Must you of contacted the club or Player's agent or can you bid without any enquiry? Also how is the bid submitted is it via an email or fax?
Much Appreciated.
Tim {Ed002's Note - Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. There may be some broad discussion on the sort of deal that would be offered. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent and possibly even the player about actually making a move. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. Many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.

The offer itself will typically be in writing and subject to a number of points of negotiation - both with the selling club and with the player.}

Luis Suarez has once again given an interview to a Spanish publication, this time El Pais, and opened up on how he feels at Liverpool and his future at Anfield.

Ahead of tonight's Confederations Cup match between Uruguay and Spain there will be plenty of focus on Suarez, especially as the Liverpool striker can go level with Diego Forlan as top goal scorer for his country on 33 goals.

After discussing the challenge of facing world and European champions Spain as well as what it would mean to score against Liverpool team mate Pepe Reina, El Pais discuss the rumours of a Real Madrid move for Suarez.

First off, Suarez answers whether he "fears" playing for Real Madrid. The Liverpool striker answers: "I have never feared the pressure. But that does not mean anything. I am a Liverpool player. "

El Pais then ask what he would bring to a team like Madrid. Suarez: "I will give my soul every time I step on the pitch. I have done this with Uruguay, Ajax and Liverpool. I do not hold anything when I finish a game. "

When asked flat out if he has an agreement with Real Madrid, Suarez says: "No. I have a contract with Liverpool. "

Suarez is then questioned as to whether he would like to play for Real Madrid: "A player always aspires to be at the top of their profession and Madrid is at the top for any football player. But, do you know what it is like to play for Liverpool?"

The Uruguayan continues and gives very mixed messages: "It disturbs me that Liverpool are not in the Champions League every season. I've suffered at Liverpool, but when I think of what it represents to play for this club, & the love my daughter has. she sings the hymn. The hairs on my neck stand up when I play at Anfield. "

Finally, Luis Suarez talks about that bite on Branislav Ivanovic, that rocked English football: "How much can one bite sully all the goals I've scored?. If people knew the stuff that happens to me on the pitch, the kicks, the insults, they wouldn't judge me. I could write a book on it. "

Does this mean he might change his mind and stay or is it one of these made up articles. Pease reply cheers {Ed002's Note - It seems a reasonable translation from the Spanish transcript, with a bunch of vague descriptive additions probably added by some kid running a blog or whatever.}.

Just wanted to say a massive well done to Borini for his winner last night. His second touch to set up his finish was class.

He Has taken some massive stick on these boards this season, which is unfair in my view as he has been injured for the majority of the season, and never had chance to capture any real form. I'll be straight that I'm on the fence still and i'm not going to pretend he's a world beater, but just wanted to say we need to give him a chance next season to see what he's really about.

What's your opinion on Borini eds?

Thanks,

Aggers Left Boot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Borini has bags of potential, but its up to him if he can step up and show it. I, too think its unfair to judge him at the mo because of his injury probs, but BR obviously sees something in him and let's be honest it looks like he can spot a player, e. g. Sturridge, Couts, where others may overlook. But only time will tell as anyone who has ever played the game at whatever level knows only hard work and determination on the training ground will benefit you in the managers eyes and long term you as a player, so Borini has to put the work in if he wants to be a part of what is shaping up to be a very formidable squad in the forthcoming years.

I actually think Suarez is shooting himself in the foot with his perpetual insubordination to the press. If his name isn't tarnished enough with his antics at Liverpool fc and Ajax it will be even more smeared now with his endless moaning. Surely any other club would be thinking twice now before subjecting themselves to him. Not only is he continually missing part of the season due to being banned he is now running his mouth off with lies and far fetched stories of being victimised. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he has to come back cap in hand after his summer break and apologise (or claim again that it was all lost in translation) and re-ingratiate himself with the club. I just hope the club hit him with a massive fine and tell him to keep his mouth shut in the future. Jim.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah although other clubs will still take him in a heartbeat especially if his valuation is lowered by his constant whining to the press, which is probably the way they will see it. The club need to be as strong as possible on this one and hopefully get the £40m quoted for him. I think £50m is unrealistic, mainly due to his reputation and not his ability on a football pitch, unfortunately. The problem with that is though it could drag on all summer and no doubt we haven't heard the last of Suarez with a microphone stuck in gob!

I've read a lot about him, mainly on here, not seen much of him, so took the chance to follow him in last nights match. I was very impressed. he led them in every way, I doubt if there is any chance of lfc getting him? I think he could take over from stevieg in time. godbless96 steviep62. {Ed052's Note - he's probably going to United is what I've heard from the Unitex Ed}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is nailed on for Utd, I think the Rossiter lad will be groomed as Stevie's replacement in time. But not to worry Stevie just had one of his best seasons in recent years there's plenty of life in him yet!

Hi everyone it looks like Mignolet is going to be here next season, but is there any other goalkeeper you would have preferred for around the same price (around 8-10 million)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm not sure if he was available at the sane price but I'd prefer Begovic any day.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2013 09:59:51
I would have gone for Guillermo Ochoa and Jason Steele, I think both would cost around what Mignolet will and we would have a healthy competition for the nr. 1 spot and replaced Both Reina and Brad Jones.
Mignolet well, I hope he can take the next step at our club, I have seen games where he was a beast and saw other games where he was just carp!
His kicking sends shivers down my spine! I hope he sticks to throwing! If not we will not play a fluid game, honestly I am sad with Mignolet, for me Reina is the best in the world the way we play, his passing is great, he is not just a keeper,
He is a sweeper as well, mignolet doesn't move from his line! Not looking forward to loosing Reina. Our game won't be fluid and we won't be able to keep position because we simply have no big lumps to win duels. Hope am wrong or that he gets strict orders to stick to throwing!

Not sure if he was available for a similar price but I would have like Krul. He would probably have been closer to 15m due to Newcastle losing a keeper due to retirement already. At that price range I don't think there was much else to look at, maybe Diego Lopez at Madrid now that Casilias has seen Mourinho leave.

Anfield Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit concerned at the price, Leno is probably worth 10million I would have thought, but we have no interest, mignolet is a good keeper and he knows the prem well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tee Stegen would be my choice but am happy with mignolet as he is a good keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet used to be an outfield player so I would magine he's more useful with his feet than he was allowed to show at Sunderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have preferred Begovic.

Mignolet will need to step up if he joins.

Whatever anyone says on here, Liverpool FC will be there or there abouts next year. We have made changes that have been required for years. Rodgers has great resolve. We could have collapsed last year after the start we had. But Rodgers turned it around. We have far better players both now and to come than we've had for a long time. But way more important than that the team have had a resolve built into them. A different mentality. A winning resolve. I hope us fans will soon stop talking about what other clubs are doing so much and draw from the same resolve. I really don't care about Man Utd. I definately don't even give Chelsea and City a second thought. Dp people forget our history? A history City and Chelsea can only dream about. To the guy who wrote the other day that we would be in he championship in two years. That's what I'm talking about. No resolve. let's put everything behind the reds, That's the resolve that will take us forwards.

Just a bit of relief from all the Suarez debacle!
What are posters thoughts on the current Brazil outfit?
I personally think Scolari is losing the plot?
After watching Brazil turn in another mediocre performance against Japan.
I can't believe his squad and team selection.
Surely players like our own Coutinho and Lucas along with Dante (Bayern) Lucas Moura (Psg) Ramirez (Chelsea) should be in the team never mind the squad.
How overated is Neymar? And how bad are some of the Brazil players including Hulk who does nothing for me (6goals/25 )
Jo came on and scored, yes Jo. They definitely have a dearth of strikers when a player like him get's anywhere near a Brazil team. {Ed052's Note - Brazil were terrible, and Neymar was shocking. He struggled to beat his man, tried too much and kept losing the ball. Downing would have been better last night. Brazil were poor tho, and lucky to score 3. Honda had a couple of decent efforts, but his touch was a bit off, he kept turning into dead ends, looks tired, fed up and dint put enough effort in for me. Hulk was by far and away the worst player on the pitch tho, 40m, you're having a laugh :P}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more with either of you! Neymar is stupidly over rated, everytime I see him he plays poor. Hulk, jus makes me laugh, in no way is he worth 40 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brazil were terrible! Won 3-0. Neymar was shocking? He was fantastic and showed quality the whole night.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have yet to see anything from either Neymar or Hulk that would justify the huge hype around hem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brazil has a vast pool of excellent players to choose from, but Scolari seems to select the wrong ones.

Diego Alves, Miranda, Ramires, Lucas Leiva, Damaio, Diego Costa and Fernandinho could all have been, in my opinion better options.

Come the 2014 World Cup. and I think Brazil will once again flatter to deceive like in the not so distant past.

Mignolet, deal to be agreed shortly! Are you nervous or excited, is there somebody else you would prefer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm apprehensively excited, just because I've not seen enough of him. Like the majority of the players we're being linked with to be honest. What I do have faith in though is BR and his vision of how he wants us to play. He's in it to win and clearly wants to do it a certain way so I'm pretty confident that Mignolet fits the bill for him. I like Reina but he's just gone off the boil the last few years and I think it's important that goalkeepers give confidence to the back 4. Fingers crossed I say

I do hope we have serious interest in Downing, Shelvey, Coates and Reina, as buying replacements before we sell is risky, because it gives the buying club the option to go in low and late, knowing you have to sell. I wish we had a (great white) like Levy or Ashley doing the deals, instead of Ian Ayre.

Eds can you see us bidding for any of the following players this summer?

Clement Grenier. Apparently there was reported interest but nothing as yet.

Marco Van Ginkle. Apparently destined for Chelsea, but could we not show an interest?

Christian Eriksen. Still nothing happening here.

Alexis Sanchez. Surely worth an enquiry. Would love him as the Suarez replacement.

Lucas Digne. Another we were reportedly looking at, now everything has gone quiet on the left back.

Marko Marin. Seems surplus at Chelsea, worth an enquiry.

Steven Defour. Currently at Porto would be another taking a look at.

Nicolas Gaitan. Seems to be available this summer.

Roberto Soldado. Recently cam out and said he would move to premiership.

Ever Banega. Would be an excellent buy in my opinion.

Iker Munian. Bilboa could be looking to sell for less than last season.

Ander Herrera. Another Bilboa player who be worth an enquiry.

Sergio Canales. Lot of potential would take him in a flash.

Sorry for the amount Ed but haven't heard anything on virtually all of these over last few months. Would love to know if we retain an interest.

Jonesred {Ed052's Note - why can't people read posts? 1. Nothing. 2. Nothing. 3. Interest but I dont expect a bid, at the minute. 4. Nothing. 5. Had him watched, thats all, I dont expect a move. 6-12 nothing on the rest (nothing = no interest/scouting at present)}

in my opinion we are in a good position for several reasons. 1. the last few months we played some good football and coutinho/sturridge have really made a difference. 2. lucas/allen/borini will be stronger next season all 3 had injuries. 3. youngsters like suso/sterling/ibe will only get better. 4. we know were our weak points are and seem to have money to buy, we already spend on aspas and proberly mign and alberto on the way. 5. players that are not in br future plans (carroll, assaidi, cuates, and proberly skrtl. will be sold and replaced. 6. the suarez situation is handled correctly, suarez is not for sale was the best move we made, we are working on replacing the players we don't need. once that is done I am sure we will sit back and play the game. suarez will only leave for top money and will be replaced with 1 player. 7. we will have a strong squad next season with suarez or without. 8. money will not be the problem this window getting the right players will be, a good problem to have. juve had this problem 2 years ago look were they are now. 9. I can see fsg plan and it will work next season we will get into the top 4 and the following season we will play for the league. malta

Hi Eds and Reds

This is only my thoughts but I just want to put them out there.
The minute LS had a wee munch at. u know the guy. I turned to my son and said. He's fecked. and after his ban I knew he'd want out. but what I am amazed at is that some other club will take the chance with this guy. look I think he's top drawer. but I'm just worried that we won't get the money that he really is worth. I feel he is letting us all down and as one of the eds has said. he is becoming a laughing stock. is all his past going to go against us getting a decent fee for him.

atlfc70

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I said to a lot of fans that it was engineered, and he'd done his best to keep himself "unkeepable". Following the Evra incident he knew where the club stands and what is expected of players - repeating unacceptable behaviour was only going to go one way.
If he does go to Madrid, I'm willing to bet he's sorts of incidents don't occur over in Spain, as he will be where he wants to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football Clubs, especially the ones that could afford Suarez are conceited and will always believe that they can manage him better and keep him focused on competing for and winning Trophy's!
And I'm quite sure Suarez's agent will convey the message that part of Luis Suarez problems are born out the frustration of not competing at the top.
So the bottom line is? He's worth £50m minimum in todays market.

I agree AggerDo

I thought so as soon as the bite happened. the season was over, nothing let to play for, so Suarez does his thing to leave LFC.

Oops, sent one before this a bit early Ed's, only got half the post in! My bad, i'll try again.
Quick question on Mkhitaryan for anyone, from what I've heard he does seem like a very good player, the one thing that concerns me is his attitude, or more specifically that he mainly seems to be looking for a pay day. Is it just me who has this issue? Cheers all {Ed002's Note - He is looking for a better deal than he had and does seem slightly flaky to me - but would be a great addition to the squad.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed is he the one you said ages ago made a comment along the lines of- he wants a move to the premiership because he says he deserves the big money? {Ed002's Note - Right.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets hope they know what their doing this time.
In all honesty, I thought a DM and a RW were more of a priority than another attacking mid.
Maybe they have them lined up to, who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aslong as he helps us ein things then who cares chelsea and city have teams full of those types and haven't done too bad

Agree0 Disagree0

Lamela will be targeted for RW when suarez goes. DM is covered with Lucus Allen and Possibly Papa if he signs. Gerrard could also be converted. I'm not sure if coady could cut it though.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair he has just broken records in Ukraine. If Alonso, or higuain or messi wanted to move to Prem because they wanted to make more money would it be a problem? He's had a very good year for shahktar and broken a record there, most players would feel entitled to more money, not saying I agree with him but it's no different than what most other players would do.
