Over the moon about Sunday. Still Spurs away will mean nothing if we don't get the result on Saturday. I expect Cardiff to defend from the off.
I'm hoping we create and score early,, we can then enjoy ourselves and the floodgates might open.
You never know with these game though. This is the team, albeit at home, took points off both the Manchester clubs this season. Every game is a massive game when your talking about Liverpool. Great chance to be going top at Christmas come on boys!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yer, I think being Top at christmas should carry the same prestiege as being No. 1 in the charts for christmas. Should be some sort of medal.

It sums up how poor Borini is if he cannot get into bottom of the table Sunderlands starting XI even in a cup game.

He must be wondering where it all went wrong. Poor old chap.

He would have got more game time sitting on our bench but at least they help with his wages :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He started 2 out of the last 3 games in the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha yeah borini 88 minute equaliser, some humble pie mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow. And that's what happens when you slate our player. He answered your pathetic comment with his goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he's scored now ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

"poor" 21 yr old borini just equalised against Chelsea! well done boiiiii

Agree0 Disagree0

And a great assist. Come on mate come back and apologise for trying to take down our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Goal and winning assist come on lad credit were its due

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear, a goal and an assist! Egg on your face mate!

Ian the red

Agree0 Disagree0

Any room for no 101?

Agree0 Disagree0

What do I know :-) good stuff from the man. Scored one set one up.

Always rated him ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Scored the equaliser and set up the winner. This is why he was sent on loan - the contempt and abuse he gets is so intense. The lad would be better off moving to a club were fans give him a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll said Seano to many fickle fans on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Before you all get carried away and start begging for Borini to come back it's worth noting that after his goal Borini had two excellent opportunities and he fluffed them both
I too would like him to succeed but having watched him last night I can't see him being Liverpool quality

We need to go into Saturdays game with the same attitude, commitment and desire as we did against spurs and we be flying, fear nobody home or away and don't underestimate anybody either, we do that we could be in with a shout come the end of the season!

Still buzzing from the weekend.

Just a couple of thoughts.

1. If we continue to play well in CM I hope BR makes Gerrard work his socks off to get back in the team. Look what effect it's had on Skrtel, he's starting to look like he did 2yrs ago.

2. I hope we buy really well in Jan - 2 players.

A top notch CM and a top notch winger. £20m players. Don't know if we have that money but I think that's what we need. We have quantity, now we need proper quality.

3. It's awsome to be able to talk about top 4 and the holy grail again.

COME ON!

17 Dec 2013 20:27:20
Salah would come at 12-15 mill. and I expect another CM to arrive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people put values on players 20 million player who cares how much the cost is rather the right type of player coutinho marco reus (spelling) were fiarly cheap Sturridge aswell!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

When did we sign Marco Reus for cheap?

With all the numbers crunched, tactics dissected, goals reviewed and comments analysed; I'd like to say this one thing. For me the best part of the whole carnival that was Spurs v/s Liverpool was not the scoreline, not the performances, not the tactics and not even the look on Levi's face.

The best moment was seeing Kenny's smile after Flanagan scored our third. The joy on his face; one not unlike one that I as a kid had when opening birthday presents was what made my day. Damn it, I nearly started sweating from my eyes.

King Kenny, you dear sir, are a LEGEND. And You'll Never Walk Alone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed sama. If he's happy, I'm happy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said sama491.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I'd say the same also. The way Kenny clearly lives for the club is a joy to behold and in 30 years times I hope it will be Gerrard up there. I watched flannos goal probably 100 times since sunday and I love it, love it and love it more and more. First is the move and the pass to Jordo, then there is this amazing back heal reverse nutmet to get the ball back to Suarez, Suarez is ever where final third, where the ball is he is, its amazing. Suarez makes first time cross perfect for Flanno. The ball arrives and its a case of - don't even think about it son, just hit it. Game over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also mate, the way the whole team piled on top of him - it was a great moment for the team, to see Fanagan score his first senior goal. I was grinning from ear to ear - great stuff indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's Liverpool's greatest son. Such a spectacular personality. My dream is to meet him once, at the least. The things he's done! No words.

Hi Eds and Reds,

I just wanted your opinions on this please. BR has been particularly strong when someone has been out injured and the covering player has come in and done a great job. To date BR has keep the covering player in the first team. My question is, can you see him doing this with Gerrard if Allen carries on in good form and the team excell?

Cheers

Bryan
Ps great result at wkend, Flanno was great, Mignolet gave me a few stressful moments as did Sakho when in possession but how refreshing it is for me as a fan to really see things taking shape. The future looks bright, the future looks Red!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Allen lucas and Henderson have to play well or any of them could be dropped not just Allen

Agree0 Disagree0

After only 1 game it's difficult to say. But I think Gerrard will be introduced back slowly, unless his comeback is a home game against 'weaker' opposition, in which case he'd start and BR will see how he goes

Agree0 Disagree0

He will come back for the derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

Allen was in the team before gerrard got injured, it was Lucas who'd lost his place. Our midfield has been terrible all season apart from Sunday, and I'm sad to say that's because Stevie has been in it IMO, he hasn't got the legs anymore and looks like he's going in slow motion at times against younger players. He slows everything down especially when we're trying to break quick. Don't think his distribution from free kicks or corners is enough to guarantee him his place, just don't think he suits our style of play especially now his legs have gone. I actually think he looked a bit concerned about his place after the game on Sunday.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think many have forgotten just how good Stevie is still.
Let's see what happens after city and chavski, I'm sad to say it, but I'm sure we'll all be praying for Stevie's return

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers all

I know he nearly moved to Everton but I really think Leroy Fer would be a good buy instead of Hughes. He's 22/3, 6.2ft extremely hard working both ways a threat in the air and from normal play can play anywhere in the middle & wouldn't be too expensive either. Who's interested or had a look? Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We're a ball on the floor team these days

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd suggest you watch will hughes play, he has a bit of finesse about him. Fer doesn't.

Hi eds,

Are we interested in Finnbogason? If not, who is? 16 goals in 14 games is good no matter what the league. I think he's definitely worth a shout.

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Finnbogason has attracted recent interest from West Ham, Newcastle and Cardiff and there is still a chance that Fulham may also look to him. Like Sunderland, Hannover and Mainz before them, West Ham has turned their attentions elsewhere for the time being. Celtic also have a long standing interest in the player and were close to signing him in the summer but they baulked at Heerenveen's asking price of £5.5m.}

I have to say I'm shocked at the calibre of clubs interested in him.

Looks like the Suarez vurse may hit another manager- Malky MacKay is under fire from his boss- let's show them no mercy on Saturday- another 4 or 5 goals at least.

What's most pleasing about the win against spuds was the maturing performance of a core group of young players: Lucas, Hendo, Allen and Coutinho, who all had a year to adapt, integrate and developing a good understanding between themselves, which will go a long way for not only the rest of the season, but for the forseeable future.

I don't know about everyone else but I am sick to death of hearing will Suarez leave will he stay one more year will he leave in January! Come off it. The guys been in brilliant form, made team captain in Gerrard's absence and is clearly enjoying his football with the club. And judging by his body language he's not sulking around he's appeared to be in high spirits on and off the pitch. No one knows his future but him and BR. Let's all shut up about it and enjoy the performances. We're clearly on the rise and with some more January transfer magic and a strong finish to the season why would he go. There is much more prestige for winning the CL with LFC than with the powerhouse barca or madrid Leave it out mates leave it out! YNWA JFT96

Fantastic. If By guess we could decide People faith. then he would have been off last summer.
Sheer Nonsense. he wanted to Go. then decieded to stay. Now he is in his form of his life. Like every ambitious footballer he too wants to win things. let's build a team around him.
Remember Bale. This Man is Irreplacble. He is argubly the Greatest Liverpool Striker in past 10 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

I get it, uncertainty can breed frustration which leads to you contradicting yourself by typing about what you want no one to type about, and you do it on a named banter page, which only invites more of the discussion. It's a kind of catch 22. But in all honesty as a fellow Liverpool fan, when a player is so good the question will never go away. Tottenham with Bale last season, when he was winning games with individual goals that won vital points it lead to them (Spurs fans) being constantly questioned about Bale, his future and of course being labeled a ''one man team''. Cesc with Barca, Xabi with Real, Ronaldo with Real, and now Suarez with Real.

Liverpool are in a similar position in some respects with Suarez, . again. Suarez is a very attractive prospect for any mega rich team able to cough up the money to sign him as his profile is only growing and for positive performances. He's easily one of the best in the world and a unique player in that there isn't many strikers who can do what Suarez does with goals and assists. So that comes with all sorts of baggage as well as the positive side of having one of the best players wearing the shirt and performing almost flawlessly in rich form, such as we had with Torres, Xabi and of course Gerrard, all at one time or another, whether goals, assists or having a dynamic of being able to pull the stings of the team.

Of course, we all hope he stays because he's so good and we all enjoy him being here, anyone who knows what is best for Liverpool F.C long term, not the business aspect of the game but the 11 players who take to the field on game day/night to play for the club that get the fans so visceral and passionate, know how important and productive and enjoyable to watch Suarez is.

The question around his future and the doubts in supporters minds about the clubs future in the possibility/ eventuality of him leaving are only natural, even Steven Gerrard said on SS after the Tottenham destruction ''Enjoy him (Suarez) whilst he's still here, because if he keeps playing the way he is, then the big guns will definitely come around sniffing, which we don't want.'' So, if the Senior player at the club is giving advice like that, then it's only fair the fans discuss it. Just my opinions though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry harry but luis didn't decide to stay, if the club had decided to let him go in the summer then he would be gone, nothing to do with him wanting to stay. I understand what ya mean slim, of course everyone wants him to stay and are enjoying the performances and so on but lfc were stern and br pulled off a master stroke with luis in the way he showed no player power, (trained alone etc) but there is no doubt about it being luis last season with us, i'm grateful that he's putting us in a position to get cl football again and finally earn a few shillings to spend and not alone that but we wil be starting with a transfer budget and add to that the most of his sale and the owners might loosen the purse strings a little more if we do manage the top four before the season ends, i'm grateful for the way he has been trying to amend his ways and giving us a season of magic to watch, your never going to hear the end of it unfortunately. I think our formation against Spurs worked perfectly and I can understand fans wanting to voice opinions and offer different formation options, which is great!

FELLOW REDS:
Bear in mind that during a season teams have ups as well as downs, so if we happened to 'not' get the right results in some of our Christmas fixtures, please don't lose heart. we are nearly there. BR has shown that when things go right, we are unplayable; even without some of our first teamers, which will probably trouble BR as far as the transfer window is concerned, as I write this. We were looking for a LB, now we have Flano and Enrique! Who to replace Allen and Henderson? And and and. Great problems to have though! We are beginning to click, I haven't seen us play with that ruthlessness since the days of Kenny's first spell as manager.

My Christmas wishes are beginning to come true. but please, please keep the faith. YNWA
