Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

This has to be the quietest Liverpool rumours board during a transfer window ever! I guess it's a sign we're largely all happy with things

Is weird isn't it? Not just for Liverpool but for every BPL team, only team doing business are Everton (though tend look to have done good business) .

Think the eds need to spice things up. Seeing as some of the papers seem to get their sources from this website. eds is it true city are signing messi, United Ronaldo, and lfc Suarez?

18 Jan 2017 05:27:53
Don't be fooled hopeful - it's all a smokescreen - marquee signing imminent as a statement of intent by the owners!

18 Jan 2017 09:37:39
From a very good source. My aunties uncles milkman who retired 20 yrs ago whilst doing his final deliver swears he has just seen none other than Suarez stepping out of John Lennon airport this morning wearing a Liverpool trackie and singing the anfield rap. 100% true is in medical now having a medical and once passed fit will be unveiled later today.

18 Jan 2017 09:37:53
Hows that for gossip

18 Jan 2017 10:15:23
Any news yet from the dinner lady? She's normally spot on for transfers. Or our other favorite source"My cousins next door neighbor's sister"always very accurate for transfers.

18 Jan 2017 10:42:54
I had one from my cousins next door neighours brother - he's not as accurate as his sister though

18 Jan 2017 12:48:26
Cheeky bid for Griezmann? Ten million less than United's last offer, a signed Tiago Illori away shirt, and not one, but two emojis (and a hashtag thrown in)?

Ken Aguero spotted outside Anfield with his burger van?

Ian Ayre cruising down the autobahns, flared leather trousers flapping in the fresh Bavarian air, Lewandowski next to him in the side-carriage enjoying his last curry-wurst?

These are the stuff transfer windows are made of!

18 Jan 2017 13:25:34
i just rode in a taxi and the driver swears he just Gareth Bale at melwood, thought nothing of it but rumour is he is a fan of the dinerladys chips, apparantlyy a deal clincher. Heard it here first.

18 Jan 2017 16:03:39
I love that Ken Aguero is still a thing!

17 Jan 2017 20:17:34
Hi
Going to my first game of this season and taking my 8 year old daughter to her first game. Wanted her to meet/ get pictures with some players. Does anyone know how to get access to the players entrance area. I've seen fans there before.

You after been invited by people walking around the ground and they may take you under the tunnel, still don't think you will get autographs but may see them come off the coach.

18 Jan 2017 07:19:13
Thanks MR. So you reckon just hang around and hope for the best? Going to get there early so will try my luck. Hoping for a few goals on Saturday. Should be a good one!

18 Jan 2017 07:50:14
Yeah get there early and hope to bump into some of the club workers outside the ground who wear shirt and ties with walkie talkies.

"Are man city out of the title race? " "I don't care" ha ha still making me laugh!

Believable13 Unbelievable1

17 Jan 2017 18:43:42
Who said that, by the way?

17 Jan 2017 20:53:03
Liverpool boss Klopp was asked for his opinion on how many teams can still win the title, to which he offered a terse response.

‘I don’t care (how many teams can win the title) and I especially don’t care (if the Manchester teams have a chance. )

17 Jan 2017 15:39:02
What is Grujic's status now? Injured? Training? Out of favor? Seems to have disappeared.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He is not really ready for the first team but he is now clear of injury so perhaps will be considered for tomorrow - although I am not sure how much training he has had.}

17 Jan 2017 15:43:32
I was just wondering about him. I thought he had a great preseason and thought he might push the midfield for a spot

17 Jan 2017 16:24:16
ED02, Would he loose his work permit? He hasn't played at all this season and if that's the criteria then he is in trouble as well the club.

{Ed002's Note - Potentially yes. However, I think it unlikely.}

17 Jan 2017 18:48:26
I'd love him to play tomorrow, the lads talent looks like he could become a very capable young player for us. Going to see liverpool play live for my first time tomorrow. Hopefully we can get the win at home park!

17 Jan 2017 20:47:25
If you have time in Plymouth, take chain ferry over to Torpoint. As you drive out there is a sign for The Wilcove. Follow it best steak I've had, been a few times. Failing that grab a burger from Captain Jaspers on the Barbican.

17 Jan 2017 22:27:22
Well. Scrap my earlier comment. Argyle have screwed tickets up for a lot of people. Absolutely gutted!

18 Jan 2017 01:11:16
Gutted for you Pars

18 Jan 2017 10:20:51
Yeah that is gutted mate. Shouldn't happen that

18 Jan 2017 15:40:04
Ejaria seems to have stolen a march on him.

17 Jan 2017 13:57:34
Hi all, really enjoying the season so far, so happy with everything the club is acheving. Just a though on sahko, please don't shoot as i don't much about the situation, without sounding naive could mamadou not have gone to the boss for an honest one to one and humbly apologised for messing up and worked his arse off to prove he wanted to make things up? Could this not have saved his career here or at least made it better for him for any future move? Or has he no interest in doing so?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Klopp wants him gone - and that is pretty much it.}

17 Jan 2017 14:32:42
Such a waste of tallent. He had come into is own under klopp and was playing really well. Shame

17 Jan 2017 18:31:53
It seems to be a character flaw, in a few of the player interviews I've seen when the interviewer asks "Who is always late? " the general response is Sakho. I am a big fan of Sakho, gutted we won't see him and Matip play together - could have been great. However if Klopp makes exceptions for basic things like time management for some players it weakens his position with the whole squad with regards to the fairness, and I think more significantly flies in the face of the spirit Klopp is trying to foster within the team.

These Men are supposedly professionals and if despite warnings you're still consistently late to team meetings it's showing a lack of respect for the coaching and playing staff.

17 Jan 2017 18:47:10
First of all, I am a huge Sahko fan. Having said that, Klopp runs a very tight ship and no screw ups especially by repeat offenders, will nor should be tolerated. When you start tolerating misconduct due to a player`s talent and so on, that is a recipe for disaster in your quest to build as strong bond and structure of respect and accountability btw players and coaches.

18 Jan 2017 03:24:44
He must really have messed up big.

As anyone can see from an ability point of view that the squad would be stronger with Sakho in it.

Has something else happened to have made a rapprochement possible?

The club financially is paying top wages to a top player who is playing in the reserves.

17 Jan 2017 10:05:50

17 Jan 2017 11:32:01
Are you meeting other Ed's in UK mate?

{Ed001's Note - not this time, I met up with Ed003 before coming over though. I won't have time this time, I have a list of things me ma asked me to pick up that she can't get in Spain that I have to get. Going out to start getting that today.}

17 Jan 2017 14:31:41
What you mean 'harry' Mark? Was just wondering where he was does that mean I'm Harry? Lol Hilarious lad. Thanks ed1 hope your having a good time mate.

17 Jan 2017 14:41:55
Liverpoolfc16, I think the Harry comment was referring to Ed001 meeting up with his "best mate", 😂

17 Jan 2017 15:53:05
is this the same mate who was ill? if so i hope he is on the mend!

been missing your match reviews

{Ed001's Note - just in reply to Ste - thanks mate, yes it is and he is much better now. In remission and hopefully going to stay that way this time!}

17 Jan 2017 03:28:13
I saw a post below about what's going on with our form and I agree, we haven't looked good in weeks. Been getting good results, yes, but looked far from inspiring. I think the answer is simply expectations. It's easier to go out there when you have something to prove as the underdog. When you're at the top (or near the top) and have a target on your back you take fewer risks. Personally I think the answer may be playing more youth that want to prove themselves. Obviously at the right time

17 Jan 2017 09:09:35
As soon as liverpool win a couple games, fans lose their heads and expectations go through the roof. But unlike leicester city who were more in awe of their team, it always feels like some liverpool fans' expectations are tinged with a bit of arrogance.

17 Jan 2017 09:47:31
Faith, I guess you are the arrogant one as you do not understand how big this club is. Given the strong tradition of this club and it's European royalty stature, it will be an injustice and an insult to the club if fans expect anything less. As a loyal fan for 30yrs, I will continue to reserve my right to expect them to win title this yr, next yr, every yr.

17 Jan 2017 09:54:26
Liverpool should be challenging for the title and 2rd best should not be accepted .

17 Jan 2017 09:58:16
We're doing well, we don't need to change anything imo, Coutinho, Hendo are back and Matip will also soon be back, arguably 3 of our best players. People need to relax a little.

17 Jan 2017 10:14:17
A good portion of fans live and breath in mid table mediocrity and their expectations are lower than many other clubs. Liverpool should be easily challenging for the titles every year. It's not arrogance!

{Ed001's Note - isn't it? It feels arrogant to me. No club has a right to expect anything.}

17 Jan 2017 10:38:11
Leek - yes, that would roughly be the arrogance he was talking about. It doesn't matter who you are, every win needs to be earned.

17 Jan 2017 11:45:34
We are currently the third best team in the Premier League. We are only the best if we win more games than everyone else. It is over 20 years since we were the best. It is over 10 years since we were European royalty. The world moves on while people are celebrating past glories and achievements.
Hope is a beautiful thing but expecting that we will win the league is ridiculous considering the competition. We are doing pretty well this season so let's see what happens by the end of it but if you're basing your expectations on achievements from over a decade a go, you might end up disappointed.

17 Jan 2017 11:48:59
I wouldn't necessarily call it arrogance but more a sustained passion for success

17 Jan 2017 12:39:12
I don't see how wanting a massive sudden jump to the top and expecting it to last is a 'sustained passion for success'. We all have a passion for success but it needs to be built on something and in the past 10 years we have had two chances to build towards it and both were spectacularly wasted.

17 Jan 2017 12:56:06
What gives us the right to be so arrogant and to expect to win the league? Is it because we've won it the last 5 seasons in a row? No. Is it because we've come close the last 5 seasons in a row? No. Why then? Appointing klopp doesn't guarantee us the league title. I think some of you think otherwise though! Celtic fans can expect to win the league every season because they usually do, but not us playing in the most competitive league in the world. Our target every season should be top 4 and playing champions league football but that isn't even guaranteed with about 6 sides competing for 4 places every season. So if top 4 isn't guaranteed then how can 1st place be guaranteed? We've hardly featured in the champions league in recent years so come on, let's be realistic about things. That doesn't mean I don't Dream of us winning the league every season, or am gutted to watch some other team lifting the trophy. I just don't EXPECT us to win the league, we have as much chance as anyone else when the season starts at 0 pts each and I think this season we have an excellent chance especially if we pick things up again. But first we have to be better than the other 5 teams around us!

17 Jan 2017 14:34:21
Spot on Welsh mate

17 Jan 2017 16:10:05
"Liverpool should be challenging for the PL each season and 2nd best is unacceptable". Wow, you are definitely not arrogant are you, Matip? Where have you been in the past 15-20 years where we`ve only finished 2nd three times? It is the type of arrogance in yours and Harry`s posts that has not allowed our fans to see the reality of our position over the years.

We are in NO position to b arrogant about anything in the PL, period cos our record is mediocre at best. That is the fact. As a result, our fans are managing expectations which is within their right as they are living in the present and not in an alternate reality where LFC has the right to win everything without even breaking a sweat.

This thinking does NOT mean that said fans are less passionate than those who portray arrogance as a means of sounding tough and passionate. It only means that we dream BUT with our eyes open which is what I think Klopp is asking us to do. Like many, I`ve been a fan for years (32 for me) so no one has anything to teach me about being a fervent supporter so I find people questioning my passion cos I am measured in my expectations and don`t sound arrogant nor make kneejerk outburst, quite insulting.

17 Jan 2017 16:36:42
That Irony, calling a Believer an arrogant. So you want me to go and support another team who would win the title Hamilton? I have never seen another set of supporters who are happy with midtable finish year after year spending a truck load of money.
It's supporters like you Hamilton we have never really won anything!
Period.

{Ed025's Note - thats unfair you know harry, hamilton is pointing out that expectation is too high in some peoples expectations mate, you are treating it as a personal attack on you and i dont think it is, its generalizing and to be fair he has a point..

17 Jan 2017 16:57:47
I think 'expecting us to win the league without having to earn it' is a better definition of arrogance.
Expecting us to compete in the league is a reflection of the players we have acquired plus the management team we have established. I don't think that's 'arrogance', just confidence. 🙂

17 Jan 2017 17:20:06
Ed025, Simply untrue. He has no point. The only point is he has to go at someone every day who disagree with his views. Expectations are good and that is what motivates you to go that extra yard. Aim at the stars and you reach tree top. There is no life without that little bit of ego that push you every day. Its called the confidence and belief something Leicester had last year which got them the title.
Even the owners and manager have more expectations than some of our own supporters.

{Ed025's Note - i know what you are saying harry but weight of expectation can be a burden as well, as regards hamilton i think the 2 of you need your heads banging together, both of you just cant resist having a go at the others posts and to be honest its getting very tedious, from now on all posts from both of you will be deleted if you continue with the tit for tat personal attacks on each other, im sure the other posters are as sick of it as i am mate..

17 Jan 2017 18:17:02
Can we all club together to raise money for a plane ticket to Ohio for Harry? I'm sure Hamilton will appreciate the company, lol!

17 Jan 2017 18:27:49
I think Harry can afford it Zed. 🤑

17 Jan 2017 17:42:00
Celebrating our proud history is perfectly acceptable but assuming this means we have a right to expect beat any other club right now is arrogance and a recipe for disaster. Every game is 11 men against 11 men and you win or lose by what how you prepare, and what you do on the pitch, not from what any past teams have done before you (and reality is it's been some time since we've consistently competed for honours. )

Time to write a new story, starting with this team, this coach, and this league which is exceptionally competitive and no-one having the right to win anything.

17 Jan 2017 19:21:58
I will desist from such posts vs Harry. I apologise to the posters who find this tedious as that was not the goal of my post. As for Harry, I did not attack you. All I did was place my opinion and disagree with yours and Matip Is Boss comments. If you took it as a personal attack then, that is unfortunate as that was not my intention.

17 Jan 2017 20:13:48
Every supporter needs a bit of arrogance and that's not a problem, what is a problem is when this is directed at players at our club.

18 Jan 2017 03:51:10
Now back to LFC matters.

We had built up great momentum prior to the last international break. (pointless) Some of our players came back with injuries and after that we have been not as consistent

But in saying that.

We are joint 2nd in the table,

competing in 2 cups,

Our goalkeeping issue has improved of late,

Our injuries are improving.
and we have an U23 team bursting with young talent chomping at the bit to make the step up to the first team.

We all knew the Africans cup would be disruptive.

But for me we are in great shape and I reckon this team has yet to fully fire on all cylinders and will improve further on the run in.

I haven't said it before but I think we will win the Prem.

{Ed025's Note - i love your optimism dermot, i definitely think you will be in the mix at the end of the season mate, i think you may be over-hyping your youngsters though as i have seen nothing that convinces me they are ready for the step up..

18 Jan 2017 16:57:14
In a more controlled manner than the last game against Plymouth.
I think 2 -3 youngsters playing with the top A team in these cup matchest would be highly beneficial to the players and club.
The wholesale changes made the last time was too severe so that the result was that they we lost all cohesion and and shape.

Saying that We could and probably should have won with the amount of possession we had.
The only Way the youngsters will step up is by playing with and aftr5 against top class players.
It's all about building confidence as the ability is all ready there.

17 Jan 2017 00:05:52
Might by a daft question ed but why have Liverpool and west brom held off on using matip and nyom, whereas amadou, anguissa and onana were all involved in France and Holland this week?
