If we do sell suarez I would love to keep the system going the 2 up top is grate to watch would love to see Bentenke beside Sturridge just two different players could mix grate

If or when we qualify for champions league I would like to see Benteke in addition to Suarez and Sturridge. I would expect Suarez would consider remaining at the club if we are in Europe. Strength in depth is what we need.

Suarez will be off regardless

Benteke will do everything he can to orchestrate a move to arsenal

We all said that before, did we not? Only Suarez himself knows fella.

Jassi has spoken. So it shall be. Tired of everyone saying Suarez is off. The club said they aren't going to sell. There ya have it.

Well I'm just saying the two up top are working if we lost suarez so who you would choose to play along side Sturridge
Agree0

Personally I don't think that we will play with a second striker if Suarez is sold. We are currently employing a 3 5 2 to accommodate 2 forwards without leaving ourselves short in midfield. It works because of Suarez's nearly unparalleled dribbling ability - which allows us to hold the ball high up the park for long periods of time and stretch play without using "wingers." Inverted comers used because of our very advanced full backs. Take the Argentinian World Cup winning squad in the 80s as a back up for this point, they were able to do it because they Maradona in the same role.
Our most likely purchase if Suarez is sold will be a more natural wide player or attacking midfielder. This will allow us to revert to Rodgers preferred 433. Benteke in my opinion would be completely the wrong option as a direct replacement. I am a great admirer of his but feel we would also need a more naturally wide forward or a player who can dribble like Suarez. An the only one I can think of I mentioned earlier in the post and think he is probably getting on a bit now.

Gabriel, El Shaarawy?

I'd love Benteke if/when Suarez goes but Villa want big money for him and apparently Tottingham :) want him as well, so there would be blood. :)
I don't mind if we don't get the like for like replacement with Suarez, as let's be fair, there isn't many who can do what he does, and as consistently, otherwise Real Madrid, Juventus and the Bayern Munich's of the game would have set themselves on those equal or great players by now, instead of Suarez.
So if we tinker slightly if/when the unfortunate inevitable does happen with Suarez leaving, then I think Benteke could be a phenomena at Liverpool and that we could do a hell of a lot worse than Benteke. BUT (big but:) the lad needs to produce this season as well, no one wants to see him rest on his laurels, produce another 15-20+ goals in the Premiership, shouldn't be too hard for him, he's about to come back according to Lambert and he's already got a few, plus he makes it look too easy.
He did ridiculously well for Villa and I believe he was the factor in their Premiership survival last season, in a big club with better players around him, I think he could be as good and important as Drogba was for Chelsea for all those years, he has the strength and comes without all the theatrics and would only be 23 if we did manage to capture him in the summer, but a a few Italian clubs are creditted with a liking for him in Janaury (Juve and Lazio) so, we maybe too late or not what he wants, as often living in London for some players is a huge lure (Tottenham) as we've seen and heard before.

Al shaawary would be ideal in my opinion.

Isn't this the highly rated Valencia lad who was dubbed the new *insert great Spanish player here*. :)
I've not heard much about him in recent times. But with Soldado gone maybe he's getting more games now? Just seen he's played 30 games in his career and scored 5 goals, he is only 20 years old though. He's played 2 games for Valencia this season, 1 in the Spanish league and one in Europe, in which he scored a goal.
He was at Getafe on loan last season, he played 21 games in the League scoring 3 goals and he played 3 times in the Spanish domestic cup and scored once. So he's still got a way to go this season to prove himself to Valencia fans and then others, again he's only young and has played and featured in every Spanish age group since the age of 16 and although he has played for the Spanish u21's he's featuring again in the Spanish u20's, which might be a testament to how good the Spanish youth players are right now?

I think we're all good mate. BR said yesterday we travel 2mo with our strongest squad of the season. Johnson, Allen and cissoko all available too. No Coutinho just yet tho.

Love the little fellow, the sooner he's back then, the sooner he's threading through those perfectly weighted passes onto the toe's of Suarez and Sturridge. Hope he's able to comeback strong and steps rightback into the swing of things.
He's only little and that horrible Mr Phil Jones jumped all over him. It was almost natures justice served for that, Jones could have squashed him! :)

Just reading an article in Independent where Brendan Rodgers says he didn't agree to join Harry Redknapp as England coach. Following Stevie G's denial that he had texted Harry with his support. Makes u realise Harry Redknapp just so full of rubbish and if there is anything that's 'true' in the book.
Kind of ironic too. seeing as When Harry was up in Court for Tax evasion. he told the World he can't read and write. Lol

Maybe Rosie the dog wrote it for him. She keeps getting him into trouble doesn't she. I can see a one way trip to the vets for Rosie. Haha

Im not saying anyones a liar, but you can't beleive a word that comes out of brendas mouth and as for steven G as far as I am aware he said he didn't call nor did he have the number of HR, s personal phone when everyone knows it would have been HR, s business (spurs) phone he called.ask yourself why would HR lie? and also who doesn't want to look silly in all of this.then you will prob have your answer {Ed001's Note - Redknapp is just talking nonsense to sell a book, trying to spin a story to make it interesting, while avoiding the truth as it would see him in trouble.}
Agree0

Doesn't matter, Gerrard sending a text, Rodgers agreeing to be an assistant. 'Arry didn't get the job. Instead he got ousted at Tottenham by Levy for seemingly flirting with the F.A too much, now he's at QPR in the Championship.
I do feel a bit for the 'Artful Dodger' I think he was the Country choice for the job, not Hodgson, but this is how things turned out, for one reason or a taxing other. :)

Wow Word, so you'd rather believe Harry redknapp than your own captain (who happens to be a local legend and 2nd best player to play for this great club) and manager?
I'm highly suspicious that you're even a Liverpool supporter but if you are and you hold such little respect for the employees of our great club you should probably need to find a new team to 'support'. Maybe even a new sport to watch because if I were to guess, based on some of your past ridiculous comments, I would say you don't even like or watch football.

He is from Wales and joined the academy when he was 8 I believe.

Fair play to his grandad who is £125,000 richer today.

Let's hope he progresses well and in the right way. Wales haven't got many players to pick from :), so I think this was almost a political football decision of sorts, that's what I felt after reading the write up article on the LFC website.
But, away from the reasons why, the let's hope the buzz he must be feeling rubs off on the rest of the youth lads. We are genuinely starting to produce players with ability and great potential from within, Sterling and Ibe are just the tip of the iceberg, I think the Academy is really reaping the rewards now, Rodolfo Borrell has been kicking arse since 2009. Let's be honest, there hasn't been much in way of consistency at Liverpool in those years until recent. So big shout to him overall and the way he's guided the youth through, long may it continue.

Gareth Bale, world record transfer man, recieved 5 yellow cards more than anyone for Diving.

Every footballer dives/cheats when it benefits themselves and the team - without exception. It's just that some players antics are highlighted by the media.
Agree0

Some people call it cheating. Suarez calls it winning. The fact of the matter is diving is part of the game. The only way to outlaw it is to enforce strict punishment. Which isn't really fair anyways.
Agree0
Disagree0
Stop being petty.
Shirt pulling. pushing. kicking someone are all deemed as foul play. but happens every game, all players do it, and, more often than not get away with it, do you label them all cheats?
Every player from grass root level is told "play to the whistle" and that's what u have to do.
All the kicks . Shirt pulling . Pushing against players like Suarez, Messi, Bale etc. Yet nobody brands the players doing all that cheats!
I remember all the fuss because Suatez handled a ball in World Cup. yet other day Sturridge scored with ball going in off his hand and nobody banging on about that. part and parcel of the game mate, sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn't.

I don't usually get excited about young players I've seen until they perform over a decent period (I've seen too many flash in the pan players) but I have to say I think we should dive right in and buy Berahino in January.
