I'm not sure about these Enrique leaving rumours. personally think he's a very good defender, very hard to get past one on one, and links the play up well. His final ball is sometimes left wanting but for me after last season, if we get 4 defenders who can all defend properly then we'll be a much stronger side added to the current additions BR is making already.
Thoughts guys and girls?

What rumours? I doubt he is going anywhere.
or am I completely wrong ed?

Malak

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree. Enrique is a great player.
Hop

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, he does not need replacing and keep sketel if we aren't getting anothe cb.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen rumours of him going to Southampton in various media sources

Agree0 Disagree0

Woah woah woah. Enrique is not a "great player" nor is he "very good at defending" but in reality is decent, about average, going forward and occasionally good at defending with sprinkles of stupid and frustrating mistakes

Agree0 Disagree0

Lots of sprinkles of stupid, frustrating mistakes that could be easily avoided. he will cost us goals this season, long term he needs replacing its just there are other more pressing areas in the squad in need of attention.

Hi eds,
Doing a great job, as always. Silly question. who exactly are the 5 clubs interested in suarez and who do think are favourites to sign him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jun 2013 22:55:24
I swear it's getting to the point where so many people will have asked this question that it will be impossible to find on the search function. FFS, it was added for questions like this, so use it please, so everyone else can too

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you asking the Ed's silly questions?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 23:05:39
Man. City, Real, Bayern, Juve, Barca were not interested. So 4 teams for now.

Malak

Agree0 Disagree0

City, Barca, Real, Juve, & Bayern Munich. Maybe Juve can be swapped for Psg? Out of them all Suarez only wants either Barca or Real so they seem most likely but Barca doesn't seem too interested. Not quite the attitude they look for in players. And Real seem to be after Cavani and Bale. Maybe Suarez is the back up option?

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody is forgetting Atl. Madrid.

Rushie went:
Fowler went:
Owen went:
Torres went:
Suarez?

Fact is we moved on, as we will do if the latter went? Players come, players go, its football, we have to deaL with it, I suspect FSG & BR have plans afoot.

YNWA
Lee73

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The problem is that for every Rush or Fowler there is an Erik Meijer or Sean Dundee.

Ideally you want to keep your best players as there are no guarantees you'll be able to replace them.

Raoul

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we'll be short of options if he leaves. Our youth prospects, let's say they play one out of four games which is pretty reasonable between Ibe, Sterling, and Suso, plus Sturridge, Coutinho, Downing, and Aspas along with the potential signings of Mkhitaryan, Luis Alberto, and now Atsu, there's plenty of options if he leaves. No players bigger than the club so if he leaves let's just hope the new players adapt

Agree0 Disagree0

Stagnate is more like it. Never really win anything, the players line their pockets. the fans lose heart

Agree0 Disagree0

Good list that.
Chart the progress of LFC each time one of those players left.

That's right, since we started selling our top strikers the team has gone from strength to.

So eds what do you think of Henrikh signing a Liverpool shirt? Done deal then?
Tictactoe {Ed030's Note - Not a done deal yet mate,I THINK it might be done for him to go on tour with Liverpool as that is what i think we are trying to do so players can settle in. }

If suarez leaves and we only sign who were mainly linked to won't we have extra money and only 3 strikers I feel we are covered with 4 but with out Luis were back to tree any the ed's agree mostly ed030 or ed052 cheers {Ed030's Note - I think we will nee another striker if Luis goes,If that is what you're asking. }

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah basically ed thanks for the reply I agree we need 4 top strikers I am not crazy on Benteke but he would give another option should be considered

Agree0 Disagree0

ED30 you say you think we need another striker if luis goes, but do you think we will try for another or we going to go with what we have? I think we need another striker I just can't see borini and sturridge staying fit for any period of time {Ed030's Note - I think we will have a look and weigh up the options. }

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 23:01:14
Considering our limited finances, our lack of champions league, and the fact that our biggest name atm is moving on, almost certainly, who would you go for ed030?

Everyone else too of course but try and keep them viable {Ed030's Note - I would like Aubameyang or Gomez however Aubameyang has interest in him from other clubs the same with Gomez. }

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree on this one. I don't see another striker coming in, or at least not one that would cost very much. Sturridge is not going to want to stick around to be sat on the bench again and there's no point in keeping Borini if Sturridge is going to be 2nd choice. I could maybe see another Yesil type coming (young and inexpensive) but I just don't see another 15M+ striker being on the cards unless one of Sturridge/Borini were on the way out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Limited finances?it seems to me that if we are able to bring in aspas, mk, alberto, mign that will cost around 40mil and we still need to adress the defence we have more money than we fans all thought. {Ed002's Note - That is because of sales.}

Hi ed just a quick 1 mate. Can you confirm if the reds have signed Sergio canos and the young lad from Valencia pedro chivirallat or something like that I think is name is. Both expected 2 have bright futures from what I've heard. {Ed030's Note - Both could happen as both have confirmed they are to leave there respective clubs at the end of the season. }

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Jun 2013 22:20:23
I don't know if this is true but I've heard Andy Carroll will have a medical at West Ham tomorrow. Is it true Eds? I hope so anyway! Worst transfer in premiership history. {Ed030's Note - Yes,According to David Gold who owns the club so he is probably pretty reliable. }

I'm really hoping Borini comes out firing on all cylinders next season so we that see something really good in the lad can sit back and enjoy the 'OK maybe I was wrong' posts a la Daniel Sturridge. Spatial awareness, movement and timing on the ball are all quality. All he is lacking is confidence after a very difficult start for him, which is understandable considering his playing career has been in a state of flux since a young age going from club to club. Prove them wrong Fabio lad.

If Suarez does move on this summer, can we not bother with the whole 'judas' thing this time and just leave it out?
Players move on in football, and if they bang in a load of goals for you then leave for a price bigger than you paid for them, you can't ask for much more.
Lets not be booing him when we meet madrid in the champions league a few years from now eh?

Right. I've seen a few positive comments with regards to transfer targets and a few negative comments with regards to Brendan Rodgers plans.
Heres my opinion. I watch English football year in year out, I see that we have some talented teams with players from all corners of the world, BUT
We also seem to struggle with the continental sides and systems when it comes to European football, Granted Chelsea have done really well in Europe and I wouldn't begrudge them it seeing as though my own son supports them (I might add he was a fellow red until his grandad died who was a Chelsea fan and he felt the need to carry on the tradition. And fair play to him)
But we do seem to struggle to get hold of the ball both in International football and in European competition, I for one am coming round to the thinking that Rodgers sees this point, and to be fair if we fill our squad with players capable of keeping hold of the ball for long periods without feeling the need to be pumping it long every five minutes then I for one will be happy, its got to be for the best and if this season sees an improvement on the last and we see the sort of football this great club is famed for then I think we should all stop with the negativity and get behind whatever vision the club sees as best to take us forward,
I like that we're buying countless young Spaniards etc who know how to play the game correctly and I like how we've almost taken a step back to move forward
I love my club and right now i'm happy and optimistic

I have seen pictures today of Mkhitarian (sp) surrounded by Liverpool shirts and signing one. Could it be done already as I've heard nothing since I saw them at lunch.
Also, I reckon Suarez is staying. 3rd choice at Real behind Bale and Cavani on their shopping list, and has talked Real up so much anywhere else would seem mercenary.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jun 2013 19:23:13
Do any of you think maybe Mkhitaryan will take Hendo's place in the starting 11? Hendo was the player tasked with making late runs into the box to catch onto the creativity of the front three, Mkhitaryan just seems like a more accurate version. Hendo did well but he still blew quite a few good chances and maybe that's where Brendan Rodgers sees us getting more goals from. I mean, Mkhitaryan is a midfielder so it doesn't make sense for him to replace Suarez. If anything, Sturridge will replace Suarez if he can overcome his injury problems, in my opinion he's more than capable as long as we have Coutinho and Gerrard and our other players contributing that bit of creativity if Suarez leaves

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks like hendo and mickey will rotate a bit, 2 good players fighting for one position isn't a bad thing. I know we are not in Europe next year but if/when we get back into Europe there will be plenty of games for them.
The CAM position is probably susos best position as well, makes me think he will be loaned out next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear me. What's the poor guy got to do?!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 21:30:36
Clueless post at best! 2 great goals in a semi and a final against 2 of the best young teams in europe tells me he is much much better than championship quality as he also scored 20+ goals in the championship 2 years ago on loan with swansea, he was injured all season! Ffs how un-supportive can you be?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's utter carp mate but some fans have the tinted glasses on. I wish he'd be moved on like Coates he's another shocking player. I think some Liverpool fans are very bias when judging our own, some players are just not good enough which is why they can't even get into, what is a very poor Liverpool side.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he can get an assist and a goal a game for us he will be first name on our teamsheet, or any teamsheet in world football for that matter.

MIKEY

A goal and an assist is doing nothing, I hope he does nothing every game next season.

I think the whole Italy team was bad and with the injury plagued season he had he was improving each game in the euro's and got 2 very good goals against 2 top opponents in 2 big games.
Gibberish judgment of a player with great potential. Or maybe you are fans of other clubs annoyed at Borini finding his feet and gaining confidence?
I don't know, all I know is that some fans of any club are biased towards their players, it's called support! Heard of the term before? I know it's sounds prehistoric to the fifa generation!
Rare these days but I guess i'm one of the minority.

Malak

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because he had a good game in an under 21's match, does not mean he's good enough to be a top premiership striker.

He's not got the attributes to make it at the top, he needs to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 19:04:54
With the speculation if cavani going to Real Madrid where does that leave Suarez as he has only been talking about the same club? I do understand there has been some interest from other clubs but he does not seem interested in those. Also, is he not handing a written transfer request as he is waiting for Real Madrid to make the first move.

Mike {Ed002's Note - It makes zip difference.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jun 2013 19:03:25
I really reckon if Suarez goes we need a top notch right winger and not another striker.
At the end of the day, Suarez was likely to play RW for us next season anyway with Sturridge the main striker. A lot of people saying Borini not good enough or Aspas has not played in the league before but at the end of the day we have bought these players paying a good chunk of money and need to give them a chance to impress. We can't really have spent 10 million on Borini just to keep him on the bench.
On the other hand, the right wing has really been a postion we need to fill as Downing is most likely off and we will need a good RW. Sanchez would be a dream buy but would be satisfied with Balazs Dzsudzsak if he could refind his PSV form at LFC.

What do you reckon fellow kopites?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tello would do the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanchez for me. It's about time we splashed some big money on a proper player instead of sh1t players like Carroll Hendo Downing ect. Plus he'd relish at being the main man. He's not kicked on at Barca, like Coutinho at Inter, but he was incredible in Italy as everyone knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 23:13:12
Henderson crap? Good to know that you have no idea what so ever on what you are talking about!
Henderson has come on leaps and bounds this season compared to last season, he will be one of our best players for years to come, great possibility the only player who will remain from all the Kenny/Commoli era, and with great reason! He has earned his right to stay! Lay off the lad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's gone past it now to be asking and discussing which one are we going for out of Mkhitaryan or Eriksen as it's quite clear now that we are going for Mkhitaryan. Which i'm pleased with because I think he's the better player.

I'd love us to sign a top top player this summer an have a good go at getting back in the top 4! I'm not to sure the current squad is able! I mean we are great on our day but consistency has always been a problem. We could do with keeping Suarez but his heart may not be here therefore it would make more sense for him to go! I just hope we replace him with a quality player an not a risk!

Well, where do I start?

The transfer window hasn't even officially opened yet and I am absolutely delighted with the talent we have/are recruiting, Brendan is quietly, but surely adding depth, and pure ability into our squad.

Having reading player reviews, watching over games (not YouTube videos, full games) of the likes of Aspas, Mkhitaryan and Alberto, I can certainly see why these players have been recruited, great ability on the ball, as well as great off-ball work; these players could certainly turn out to be absolute steals.

With it looking like Suarez is heading for the exit door, following Andy Carroll, I believe this money can be used to add even more depth, but also a potential marquee signing, preferably in defense; e. g. Popadoupoulous.

I can't see why we are signing Mignolet if Reina is set to stay, especially as Mignolet looks set to agree, and would want to challenge for the Belgium national team in the world cup next year, however having both of these keepers in our squad will certainly show that we are a force not to be reckoned with, I can certainly see that Rodgers is trying to eliminate the mistakes made by players last season, by adding to the squad to 'scare' them into playing the best they can.

Looking forward to the 13/14 season fixtures list, as well as season itself; please do post your thoughts on the potential new players, and who we could sign with Suarez's money.

Are we still interested in the same players, do you think due to high price tags we may be looking elsewhere or is it just that the opportunity to get other deals tied up sooner has temporarily shifted focus in the forums away from these players?

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a £23m deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The 24-year-old has reportedly flown to the UK to finalise a deal and this image of the Armenian international signing a Liverpool shirt was tweeted by journalist Artur Petrosyan, editor-in-chief of Russian publication sport-express. ru.

I keep seeing posts saying Mkhitaryan to play behind the striker if we get him. My question is what do others feel as I thought Coutinho played great there and was more effective than on the left.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They will rotate between themselves {Ed002's Note - Some sort of circus act? Cool.}

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, I'd have Sturrdige up top. Mkhitaryan/Aspas as wide players (probably switching back and forth as I think Mkhitaryan is a right-footed and Aspas left?) with Coutinho as the CAM. Lucas and Gerrard behind them, Enrique, Toure, Agger, Johnson, Mignolet at the back.

He, coutinho, and aspas will probobly play a very fluid front 3 with Sturridge in front of them. They will drift in and out of the 3 slots.

The Luis Suarez Saga

Luis Suarez. One of the best known players in the world. Why would we want to get rid of him? A player who was once the hero of the Anfield faithful, now a villain. Suarez has many strengths including his trickery, nutmegs in particular, and eye for goal.

-Yes he has scored 30 goals this season and yes he completed most dribbles in the league by a mile, but think about how many times he has lost the ball or wasted chances. Suarez has a tendency to take on too much at once. He tries to dribble with the ball or shoot from stupid ranges/angles, when the best option would have been to pass. Players are beginning to get used to this and Suarez is losing the ball more than he did at the beginning of the season. I reckon we would have been top 4 or closer at least to the top 4 if Suarez had of passed more. He is a brilliant player but he's the type of player that defenders get used to playing against. So maybe it would be better to offload him now while we can get 40-50m for him, instead of risking it and his value decreasing next season.

Add to this the bans he picks up. Suarez has missed about 20 games for us since moving from Ajax. That's roughly 1/5 of all games he's played for us. He makes Joey Barton look disciplined! We need a striker we can rely on for a whole season, not just for the next game.

That leads into my next point-who can replace Suarez? Not many in the world have the movement and trickery of Suarez. Not to mention the goals he scores. There is no way we will get a like-for-like replacement for Suarez. Luis Muriel is the closest we'll come to a like-for-like replacement and he is unlikely to be signed. So what will we do? Exactly what we did with Torres. We sold Torres and bought Suarez. Not a like for like replacement but a proven goalscorer. What Liverpool need to replace Suarez is a proven goalscorer. Not necessarily a small, tricky player, but someone who knows where the back of the net is. Whether there small and agile, or tall and strong, we need goals. So who can provide this? Well consistency from goalscorers is becoming costly these days. Any replacement is likely to cost 20-30m. The club are unlikely to spend upwards of 25m on a striker. But that is more than enough to get a replacement. Suarez and Torres both cost around 23m so I can't see the club spending more than that when you consider what they got for that price. I hope we can get someone in the Higuain/Soldado mould.

Then we have to look at the money we are likely to get from the Suarez sale which will be about 40m. Carroll's sale will bring in another 15m bringing the sum to 60m. Skrtel, Coates and Reina may also leave, generating another 25m. That would leave us 85m to spend on the rest of the squad. Add to this the expected 25m from the owners. This would leave us with roughly 100m to spend on new players.

-Suarez replacement will likely cost about 20m.
-Kolo Toure on a free transfer.
-Iago Aspas roughly 8m.
-Luis Alberto 6m.
-Simon Mignolet 8m.
-Tiago Ilori 5m.
-Henrikh Mkhitaryan 20m.

That's roughly 65-70m. That leaves roughly 30m for another CB and backup for other postions.

Selling Suarez will improve our squad hugely. We would be strengthened a lot in every position. So although we lose a proven goalscorer, as well as a few good players, we may benefit from it.

May as well sell now and have a stronger squad than have an unhappy player at the club.

Cheers.
ROI.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with your thoughts in general but I suspect your numbers are off a bit. I don't think we'll have the funds for a Suarez replacement (the 20M you have tagged in the above for a Higuain/Soldado type player) as I think we'll get less than 40M for Suarez and probably less than 20M for Skrtel, Reina, and Coates. Toure wasn't entirely free and likely had a decent signing on fee and I think Mignolet will be more than 8M (probably more than what we get for Reina honestly).

Adding in agent's fees and such and I see basically what you have outlined minus the first (a direct Suarez replacement). We have Sturridge as first choice already with Borini as backup (and Aspas and others can always lead the line as well). Just my opinion of course.

Agree0 Disagree0

You will never make it as a cashier that is for sure mate ;))

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need to spend it all at once. calm down!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah no bother RDL I know what you mean. I was just really going by the transfer fee we will pay up front for the players. I subtracted 10m from the 110m we may get if that helps haha. I'm guessing that's why the 2nd reply says I won't make it as a cashier? I knew what I was doing there and I know we won't spend the whole 110m. As far as a Suarez replacement is concerned, I feel we will get some sort of replacement, whether it's Mkhitaryan, or another player. Even a cheap alternative like Villa (I know his wages would be high but transfer fee won't be too high). I just think we may pick up another striker just to add some depth. Cheers.
ROI.

Agree0 Disagree0

We were way off 4th place last year - if/when Suarez goes - how will we replace 30 goals? Please do not say Borini - he won't score 3. Mentioned signings will need to bed in fast - but from the rumours - we will have a new keeper and probably new CB's and a largely unproven strike force - I hope we do not have another "transition" season - Not a massive Rodgers fan - likes the sound of his own voice too much and in effective with substitutions - but we did seem to be making some progress towards the end of the season - but we need quality - £30m Allen & Borini - not a good return.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all possible, ROI- your opinion is just as valid as mine. Personally I just don't see another out and out striker coming in unless someone (say like Borini) were to leave and that just is not going to happen I don't think.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2013 15:06:36
Ed's do you think we will get another striker if Suarez leaves or will we just stick with Sturridge and Borini?
Thanks Brad {Ed002's Note - And Aspa, possibly Alberto, another AM in Mkhitaryan, then of course there is Yetsil, Morgan, Ibe and all of the kids.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed002 Rodgers has already said he wants 4 proper first team strikers because we only had 3 last year in borini sturridge and suarez. So if aspas signs and suarez leaves we will still only have 3, so therefore expect another one to come in? {Ed002's Note - Someone like Alberto you mean? And what of the kids? And what of the attacking midfield players like Suso, Coutinho, Mkhitaryan? Of is Rodgers reverting to a 4-4-2?}

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a top forward ds is injury prone & borini is garbage the spanish lad is unproven in the prem u can't relay on that br is not stupid he must reliase we need a forward also ed002 didn't u say we asked about benteke so they must be looking also hm is a attacking mid not a forward {Ed002's Note - You are right - Rodgers must realise that Sturridge is injury prone so he can go, as you say Borini is garbage so he can go as well. And Aspas is unproven, so best to move him on. I see where you are coming from and no doubt Rodgers will as well. Then all the club need to do is firm up the signing of Alberto and then move him on as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If the combo of Sturridge and Borini isn't good enough for 1st/2nd choice striker (with potentially the likes of Aspas/Mkhitaryan/Yesil covering if they were both unavailable for some reason) then why have them at all?

Do you really think Sturridge is going to want to stick around if he ends up sitting on the bench? He's done nothing wrong thus far and a lot of things right so let's just give him a chance, eh? And if he does get injured, then perhaps, just perhaps, Borini (a kid who actually does seem willing to perhaps sit on the bench) may do well for us.

RDL - No wonder is happy to sit on the bench - he must be still thanking his lucky stars that he is a professional footballer, never mind playing for Liverpool - In forty years I am struggling to think of a worse buy - on the basis of ability and cost.

Happy with Sturridge, Apsas has a decent rep, but all top clubs have 4 decent strikers when Squarez goes we will have 1 (Sturridge). 5 (aspas) and Borini - unless we can find some mugs to off-load him onto!

Just seen on some russian site

Surely Henrikh Mkhitaryan wouldn't get caught signing a Liverpool shirt unless he was absolutely sure he'd be joining the club imminently, right?

Well, according to Artur Petrosyna, who is Editor of Sport Express in Russia, the image to the left is indeed Henrikh Mkhitaryan signing a Liverpool shirt today.

He's officially still a Shakhtar Donetsk player and it's probably not the best idea to be signing shirts of other clubs, especially ones you're rumoured to be on the way to have a medical for. For further proof that it was him signing the shirt and not some random person, Armenian website Football365 have an image of him either just before or afterwards, and we've placed that at the bottom of this article.

I honestly admire on aspects of Rafa and Alex, They believd in Squad rotation and kept players almost happy.
BR ain't gona do that, I am sure sturridge is a pretty good player and he would want to start every game. But If he suffers an injury in the mid of the seaosn, whom are we left with?
borini and asaps, say we are going away to City to play?
But if we bring another typical CF, like soldado, how is BR going to make everyone happy?
We still need a goal scorer to get 20+ goals a seaosn like walcot, hernandez, who are ready to sit at bench if not selcted.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When has walcot ever got twenty goals and how many seconds did Hernandez get twenty.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 goals a season? Sturridge played 14 scored 10 since he signed. that's 0. 71 goals per game if he continus his good form. Over 38 games that would be approx. 27 for the season. But let's assume he picks up an injury halfway through the season and misses 8 games (a la suarez) going by the average that would still see a return of approx. 21 goals. Added to that the extra firepower being brought in I really don't see what there is to worry about. Let's just hope fabio has a good game tonight to give him extra confidence for 13/14 and I'm sure he'll be chipping in with a few more too. Not to mention the new boys and kids

Agree0 Disagree0

This post has so much wrong with it.

1. When has Walcott been a bench player or a 20 goals a season striker?

2. Hernandez has been making noises about wanting to play more for a while.

3. You admired Rafa's rotation policy? Are you for real? One of the reasons we didn't win the PL in 08-09 was because he rotated too much. Many of the ex players have said how this rotation has been rather disruptive.

Hi Ed (s)

just wondering if you know of any LFC interest in experienced forwards, If Suarez and Downing go we won't have any Forwards over the age of 25, average age will be about 21, think this is much too young, I think they need a forward in their late 20's or early 30's, just a short term (2-3yr) squad player with a lot of experience who can help guide and nurture the potential in the young first team players, if a few hit a bad patch of form they won't really have anyone to help because their ain't any experienced goalscorers in the squad or coachin staff who has been in that situation before an i'm worried that if droughts or loss of form occurs next season it will be an ongoing promblem affectin the confidence of the young players we have go

Hi EDs, not exactly a rumour related question per-se, but if we are interested in a player who has an injury record, eg papa with his knee problem I think?, how do our medics know how bad the problem is and if it's going to threaten the player's career? Do we get to send our medics to check up on Papa eg, or can we only get information from his medical records from his club?

CHRIS FROM HK {Ed002's Note - Any player the club buys will have a full medical.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you could use Craig Bellamy as a great example for this, we bought him knowing about his re-occuring knee injury, but it was managed by the club medic's and Kenny, which is unfortunatly what kept Bellamy unable to play every game but still bein able to be utilized when he was needed and able to play. I think also, if you look at Agger, he keep's pickin up niggle injuries but with great work from the club's medic's, its been managed and kept under control, there's way's around it, but the ultimate question is 'is the person they are buyin worth the added work to manage the injury knowin what they are capable of when not injured'

Agree0 Disagree0

I mean before the player comes in for a medical, ie if a bid hasn't been made because they're suspicious of a long-term injury problem, can they only go with information from medical records from his current club?

CHRIS FROM HK {Ed002's Note - Any offer is subject to a medical being completed. You are wrapped up in a non-issue here.}

Anyone help clear this query up please, eds included.

Aspas and Alberto maybe Micky are meant to be replacement for Suarez (although I think he'll be staying) right? That's the comments I read.
We are expecting between them 20+ goals. Assume Aspas and Micky contribute 10 a piece and Alberto 5 - league only. Think it's fair. Alberto to young to be regular, Aspas and Micky both new to league as well and are no longer the stars as they were in their smaller teams/leagues - no disrespect.

My query is BR stated he wants to add 20+ goals to the team as it stands. Well if these are to replace 30 goal Suarez and Eds seem to think these three are the replacement and we cannot keep just buying forward players. Will BR be buying someone else and who
Carlo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will also have Sturridge and Coutinho for the whole season, they will contribute to the rest of the goals.

you honestly belive, Asaps and Luis going to socre 10 a piece?.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say all three have been scouted before Suarez decided to shout off his mouth but they may also have been looked at as Suarez will miss quite a few games this coming season so we needed more goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

No. I said Aspas 10 and Alberto 5 goals. Aspas will be a regular and is a goal scorer. Alberto is young and mostly been a reserve player. He'll get more 1st team games with us but not many unless he's another Coutinho

Carlo {Ed002's Note - Seems a lot of money for a reserve team player.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just like Victor Moses then, ey ed? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you think it has to do with Victor Moses or Chelsea, and think it rather embarrassing for Liverpool fans that everything should be measured in terms of another club. I have always thought of Liverpool as a significant player in the markets and as a club - clearly there are fans like you who see them as a small penis that can only be measured against the might love truncheons of other clubs. A few people not impressed with Aspas goal scoring record need to remember Torres was far from prolific while at Athletico Madrid. I believe his best season was 2003/04 and scored 19 goals. In total he has 75 goals in 174 games for Athletico. Not an amazing record.
But moving to Liverpool Torres was then playing with better player and fitted our system perfectly and the same could happen with Aspas. His first season in the top flight in Spain and he score 12 league goals for a very very poor Celta Vigo and not as a main striker.
I am not saying Aspas will be at the level Torres was with us but I do think he will turn out to be a very good purchase for us and will give us much more of a goal threat than Downing has.

Torres had all the attributes to succed, and he was our target man, Asaps would probably playing as a RW or LW depends on the Formation.

Rumbling from multiple places of Alvaro Morata being of interest to Liverpool in a Suarez deal.

Morata supposedly wants to leave if they buy another striker and I imagine the lure of much more game time here at Liverpool would appeal to him.

Have you heard anything? The search function didn't have any insight on Morata.

Just saw this on TalkSport about Alderweireld:

"Liverpool have been encouraged in their pursuit of Ajax's Toby Alderweireld after the defender's father admitted they had failed to agree terms with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds are keen on the 24-year-old Belgian international, but the Germans thought they were in pole position to sign him after entering into initial talks, but it appears the player was unhappy with the wages on offer".

I personally think he would be an amazing signing to replace Skrtel (if he leaves of course).

A quick question to the posters on here.
We have Toure, so if we signed Llori and Alderweild but lost Coates and Skrtel would fans be happy?
Puzzled Red

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would rather have Papa over Alderweireld and Illori. We already have Agger, Toure, Kelly, so one cb would be more than enough. Perfect combination of power and ball playing ability between our 4 centre halves.

Overall, it looks like an improvement rather than individually.

I would take Agger, toure, Alderweireld and Ilori ahead of Agger, Carragher, Skrtel and Coates.

Ed. what's the situation with Villa and Soldado.
I am hearing Spurs would want both of them. or any 2 of possibly 3 with diamiao.
I would be gutted to see soldado joining Spurs.
We should go for him if suarez is sold. he would bang in goals.
And if some delued fans here think sturridge and countinho would take us to top 4. then nothing more.
Soldado is ideal striker we need.
Spurs would be untouchble with bale and soldado. {Ed002's Note - The issue with Villa is his reluctance to leave Spain - but Spurs would like him. Spurs are certainly looking toward Soldado.}

Soldado is an excellent striker, and one of the best finishers.

If we miss sturidge in a big game and starts with borini upfront. then we are screwed.

'And if some delued fans here think sturridge and countinho would take us to top 4. then nothing more. ' - Who has said this exactly, Harry? I'm assuming LFC's interest in Mkhitaryan, Alberto and Aspas echoes the general feeling that those two aren't our answer to top 4, but a 20 year old who carved defenses apart and a striker who hit 10 goals quicker than both Torres AND Fowler says to me they're a damn good building block to start off with.

2. Luis Alberto, 6. 8 pounds agreed?

3. Simon Mignolet, set to be completed this week for 8-10 million?

4. Tiago Illori, set to be completed this week?

5. Cissokho, Liverpool in pole position to land the left back?

I work in a hotel in Woolton that LFC use for new players when they arrive for a medical. Two suites have been booked for this week, with one booking in tonight. I expected them to be Alberto and Mk, but the party who booked in tonight, the only one who could possibly be a player was a very young kid. Haven't got a clue who he is as the suites are always billed to LFC. All I could find out was that they had travelled up from Birmingham.

I hope that the funds from suarez's sale are reinvested towards beefing up the defence, hopefully Papa, although I think 19m is too much for a potentially injury prone player. May be just me but I tell you what I can't see Suarez leaving us. i'm 50/50 at weather I want it to happen or not. let me explain

I do because: - of all the stupid things he's done and the latest statements etc, to be fair if he wants out, then bugger off mate, put in a damn transfer request!

I don't because : - with the new signings and suarez, we would be pretty brutal and I fully believe we'd get champions league football. yet he worries me. he gets banned next time for how long? what next with him? because something will be next.

Anyway. to the point, I don't think he's going anywhere we want at least 40m for him, can anybody actually see a bid coming in at even 40m for him? I hope i'm wrong but I honestly dont, RM want Bale, that's no secret, they're looking at an 80-85m price tag and it seems they're willing to go for it. now adding an extra 40m to that. RM can't do it. just my opinions. I may be way out, i'm not in the know, just putting 2 and 2 together and coming out with whatever. but what I say makes sense. where is RM's money to fund both suarez AND bale? not going to happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don, can't really see Bale going to RM, even if it would make him a very rich man, Bale seems really happy at spurs, and comes across as very level headed,
so that could see them going for our Suarez, and we can hold out for a big fee.

Jackoo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wisdom will not make it, mchauglin might in the future, and kelly was never a starter.

Yes Jack I agree that both players have a big future at LFC, my only concern is that Kelly seems very injury prone, maybe, at centre back, he would avoid so much time out, hope so, because he brings so much to the team.

I really like the look of Wisdom, no frills, very focussed, listens to what he is told, ideal Rodgers material.

Your player continues to express an interest in joining our wonderful club therefore we will await patiently for your response, in fact, we'll wait as long as we deem necessary as it's common knowledge now that you are aware you must sell and we now have you by the plums regarding this matter.

Simon Mignolet
Kolo Toure
Tiago Ilori
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Luis Alberto
Iago Aspas

And when the transfer window opens, I would expect 2-3 more players to come in once we sold a couple of players like Spearing, Shelvy, Skrtel, Coates, Assaidi, Suarez, Reina, Pacheo, Ngoo, Carroll. This transfer window is probably the most exciting one for 15 or 16 years.
