As Gerrard is out for approximately four weeks, this is the perfect opportunity to play Daniel Pacheco, he needs to be given the chance not poulson !

Would anyone want a lady to replace Roy as manager of Liverpool if she sent out an attacking team played good football every week?

==I'd even take a 'real lady' off Little Britain rather than Roy Hodgson.

Stevie G is hamstrung for 4 weeks. Guess it's time for the mighty Christian Poulson to step up! Ok, maybe not but it could be a great time to see the likes of Pacheco, Cole and Lucas playing in the hole behind Torres (where I believe is their strongest position). Maybe one of them can make the position their own?

Opinions on Karim Benzema?? sort of disappeared off the radar a bit because of his lack of playing time at Madrid. I personally think when he's fit & full of confidence, he's a world class player! Maybe a new start at a club where he'll be appreciated we'll see the best of him. He looked the next big thing at Lyon.

Reina to arsenel jan or summer 30m. Torres to barcelona 50m

{Editor's Note: I think the suggested fees are miles over the top - 50% over on each player.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yet players like Balotelli and Berbatov cost £30m? Milner cost £25m? Adebayor £25m? Need I go on? You are telling me someone like Fernando Torres doesn't match the calibre of these players?

Get over yourself lad.

{Editor's Note: I actually suggested that Torres was worth about £35M.}

I don't mind a rollocking for this. .we should let torres go. ok, hes been immense for us, but will he ever again be the player he was his 1st season with us? hes always getting injured and hes collecting serious cash to sit on the bench half the season. i don't believe he is underperforming because of lack of quality in the team, i think hes had enough of the physical demand of the pl and just wants to go somewhere. .else. ac milan maybe? it would free up a lot of funds to buy, any player you want, maybe 2, with a big difference in wages. in the long run it will benefit the club. .in my opinion.

Anyone think this gerrard injury could be a blessing in disguise? the fact that all the players will HAVE to put in twice as much as they are to replace the hole stevieee will leave which could take the burden off him when he returns to play more freely wot you reckon ed? also i heard a rumour that the scouts at wembely last night was to take a look at a few players including benzema and keiron gibbs abd also having a second look at remey i don't know if its true but hey i fort id put it up

Everyone knows we need at least one winger and a world class striker. . .But is anyone else concerned that i can't make up my mind about any of the centre backs here is my opinion. .

Carragher. . Great leader on the pitch still reads the game well although his legs and decision making aren't wot they were. .

Kyrgiakos. . good buy for the price. 100% player and a good threat from set plays. .Lacks a little class and ability to play out of defence. .

Wilson. . Looks good at the min. .one for the NEAR future. .lack of first team chances. .

Skyrtel. .Good man marker and reads the game quite well. .seems to get caught ball watching a little and is a bit too last ditch for me.

Agger. .Class defender good goal scoring ability too. although not great in the air. .Reads the game well and decision making quite good. .doesn't dive in. .a little too injury prone.

I am not sure who i would go with maybe agger and wilson for the future. . If we buy someone who do we go for and who do we play them with? ?

What do you think ed??

Dave the red {ed's note - personally I would go with Ayala and Agger (when fit) myself. But it needs the manager to play a system that doesn't make the players treat the football like a hot potato. Wilson and Carragher would be the ones I would use as cover, Skrtel and Kyrgiakos should both be offloaded for me.}

{Editor's Note: And who would pay those fees? Manchester City - because I very much doubt any one else could afford them}

Just because clubs can't afford a valuation, should not mean we drop our asking price! We do not need to sell, especially on the cheap! If no one can afford them, then they stay!

ofcourse liverpools valuation of them 2 players is something around 50million for torres and 35million for reina, , but if they decide to leave the club those valuations won't count, , u say they will stay if the valuation can't be met but then what were stuck with 2 players who don't wanna be here and therfore won't play well on the pitch cos there hearts rnt in it, , , and then they end up on the bench so then we lose out on 2 positions cos we have wages to pay for so can't afford to replace them untill there gone, , and then comes the free transfer when there contract runs out and we lose out on alot more money than we woulda if wed of sold them for the 35mill for torres and 20 mill for reina, , , i say if they ever wanted to go ofcourse push for the 50mill and 35mill but if not wed have to think about the price again if no ones willing to pay the true valuation obviously we can't sell for to little aslong as we make profit from the price we paid for them, , , am i right or am i wrong ED, , , PPL {ed's note - I don't think it matters, neither are looking for a move presently.}

no they don't but if they did want a move in summer then hes right we would have to think about it

It would also reflect on roy how badly he is doing with the young players and also pacheo should be on the bench and come on for about 30 mins for either cole or shelvey no matter what the score is {ed's note - Pacheco should really start, they claim he is being taught to play on the wing so why not play him there?}

yeah very true if you was going to give him is first game then this would be the perfect timing at home against west ham.

these are the sort of risk that roy should take but he won't you never know though you can teach dogs old tricks. . . . . . so they say

how do you think he will set the up then a team to win or a team not to lose? {ed's note - I have yet to see a team sent out by Roy to win from the start.}

How do you think roy will play it now ed? {ed's note - there is no Lucas either, so no doubt it will be Poulsen in the centre, probably alongside Meireles with Shelvey on the right.}

s* t yeah forgot about lucas defiantly poulson then
meriles can do it all up and down the pitch got a great shot on him meriles supporting torres i think would be great.

shelvey as to play i fill if hr can't get in the team now against the bottom placed team i think it would knock his confidence alot.

it would also reflect on roy how badly he is doing with the young players and also pacheo should be on the bench and come on for about 30 mins for either cole or shelvey no matter what the score is {ed's note - Pacheco should really start, they claim he is being taught to play on the wing so why not play him there?}

With regards to John Henry and The Fenway Group- (NESV) I really do hope that they make the change of removing Roy from the helm asap, as the way the league is currently, Liverpool could under the right manager push on for Champions League Qualification, a motivator, with attacking attributes is all that is needed, for gods sake, the team is pretty much the same team as to when we finished 2nd in the prem, walloped Man Ure at home 4-1 and destoryed Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield, barring Alonso and Reira, John Needs to quickly make the change, even if it is only a temp measure with Phil Thompson, John Aldridge and Kenny working alongside each other, till a more permanent manger can be sought, i feel these 3 could install the passion, determination and will to succeed into the players and their mentality as all 3 of them have experienced life as player and as manager, this would also give the fans a boost, knowing that we have people at the helm whos love for Liverpool is unquestionable. Roy seems to be living in the past, with his training and tactical menthods, he doesn't seem to grasp the importance of the role he currently has, nor does he no the value of standing up for Liverpool FC and its players, his press conferences are a joke, and i feel whenever i see him on the sidelines scratching his head and sitting with his hands on his head, hes not exactly looking like a man who knows what he is doing. 1 away win last season is certainly not Liverpool standard, he has to go now, before any more damage both in the league and in the transfer window can be inflicted against us.

And underpant eating boy, Gianluigi Buffon moved from Parma to Juventus 2001 for £32.6 million pound- and that was 9 years ago, so if there good enough, the valuation is what any club is willing to pay, and how much they want him. he has 5 years of a contract remaining, that adds more money to the valuation.

And with regards to Casillas, he wouldn't be number 1 for spain if Reina was playing for Barcelona right at this moment.

Why do people insist on saying 5 or 6 players will be leaving and the same amount joining? However good the players joining may be, you cannot simply change half the team and expect things to work - We need to look to bring in quality at the right time for the right price - At this moment in time, I believe we only need another quality striker and a versitile wide player (who can switch wings / play just behind the striker(s)).

My money is on two English players in Bent and Young.

Hi Ed something I don't understand. O'hara you wouldn't mind seeing at LFC you accept the fact that he has VDV, Mod and bale ahead of him. . however Kranjcar who is a better player than O'hara (OK not the same position) who has the same players in front of him at spurs is not good enough for LFC? ?

{Editor's Note: A different Ed - I am not so sure about O'Hara - a couple of seasons ago he was playing well but I have not seen too much of him since he went out on loan to Portsmouth. As I understand it he is recovering from surgery with no return date identified. I don't know where the Kranjcar rumours have come from, but if he does not get more games quickly I would expect him to leave. If he stays in England I expect Everton to try to sign him.}

Even if O'hara was 100% fit he would not start ahead of aforementioned players. {ed's note - Kranjcar is not a better player for one and for a second point he is a lot older, O'Hara is young with potential to improve. Oh and O'Hara has a much better attitude to the game as a person.}

ed, kranjcar plays on the right for spurs and really only has lennon in front of him and as was stated today it was his dad that said he would move, kranjcar said he would think about moving in the summer if he does not get 1st team football which he thinks he will!

You know even if a player has a buy out clause doesn't mean they can't be bought for less, , once a player says he wants to go, , the club would usually agree to as much as possible and if the buy out is 63mill euros like for llorente, , but if llorente wants out then teams will squeeze them for smaller price, , same with griezmann his is 30mill euros but again if liverpool is the team he wants they will accept alot less han 30 mill euros, , what im saying is don't be worried about buy out clauses cos doesn't actually mean u gotta pay that price

I don't know if people have realised, but the fact we arent doing amazingly might be a blessing in disguise? Man City won't sell to rivals, but if we're not seen as a rival. . Hello Johnson, welcome a good young english player (not racist just homegrown) . .
Then bring the french lads being discussed, it really could turn things around?

we would be serious rivals if adam johnson and benzema was at liverpool. .so on that note city won't sell there young star to us or any english prem team with the means to challenge

I can't see us playing better while Roy H is manager.We may get a few wins alot of draws and some defeats, but whatever the results we will not actually look good doing it.Playing a back four who play deep can't run can't pass the ball 20 yards without it looking like a hoof, (because it will be a hoof), and can't tackle without fouling.The future looks bleak the future looks Hodgson.

I posted this essay. .

With all this talk of who we should sign in January; I can't help think we should be more concerned about who might leave. In less than 6 months Hilda Hodgson has made a number of our top players want to leave the club they love.
There's no doubt that Torres, Reina, Johnson and Gerrard want to play for Liverpool no matter who is in charge. Or so we thought. That is unless that person is Hilda Hodgson. How has he turned LFC in to a place that no one wants to be and actively question the future of the club with the new owners.

Could Jonhson leaving in January spark a mass exodus? Are we prepared to lose 3, 4 or even 5 of our best players instead of one manager and his old assisstant, Mike Kelly. Whatever happens I can't see us replacing those kind of players with better ones, or ones of equal ability; come to that.

Players no longer want to leave because we can't sign players of equal ability to them. Players are unhappy and want to leave because of Hilda Hodgson's boring and usless training sessions (or more to the point, Mike Kelly's), his negative tactics and his choice to bring in Poulson and Konchesky, no doubt.

So, even with Comolli over-seeing tranfers, presumably to make sure Hilda doesn't sign any more crap, and his promise that we 'might' sign a world class player in January; which top class players are going to sign in the position we are in - which could get worse by then.

Dubious though I am about Comolli's idea of what makes a world class player; what is the alternative? Hodgson having full control, where we would end up with Carlton Cole.
With all this talk of having a young dynamic sqaud, surely we should have a young dynamic manager, too.

Hodgson's reluctance to try something new when things are going wrong makes me wonder how having a new, young squad to pick from would make any difference.
We need a strike partner for Torres, we all know that. But what, in the interim, is wrong with trying something new and giving what we have got, a chance.

Why not play Babel upfront with Torres. How do we know it wouldn't work? We don't. Babel hasn't been given a proper chance to get himself on form. Am I a Babel fan? I don't know, probably not. But that's not the point. I could quite easily be talking about Pacheco or Eccleston or even Ince. The point is we will never know because of Hilda's reluctance to try something new when things don't work. To try and tap in to the potential in our squad. To be brave and stand up and lead and motivate.

Never mind who we should sign in January. We could sign Lionel Messi and Hodgson would tell him to stop dribbling with the ball so much and to get back for corners.

I wish we would sign some big household names in January but I hate to say I doubt they would come.

Just a thought.

Rossi46 {ed's note - I very much agree, I just don't see us going anywhere but mid-table mediocrity with Roy Hodgson in charge.}

Only good thing that could possibly come out of gerrards injury is Roy getting the sack. We have been awful recently and In my opinion stevey g has been our best player . I dread to think what we will be like without him. Unfortunately - I can only see us dropping points with him not in the team. It's time for someone to step up but who??
Meriless was a big big waste of money. No manager will pair stevey and him together in midfield because we would get ripped to shreds. So with stevey being around for a few years yet, and the possibility of two wingers coming to the club, he will be another expensive bench warmer! Why oh why did Roy buy him when he knew a striker was our priority

Well after reading on the lfc website it looks like johnson, skrtel, kuyt and torres will all be fit for the west ham game, and cole will be fit next week against spurs. if its true then things arent all bad. i would love roy to show some b*lls and play shelvey and meireles in the middle at the weekend, but i won't hold my breath. also would it be to greed for me to want him to play either eccleston or amoo on 1 of the wings. i'll be honest if poulsen starts on saturday that's it im done with roy.

{ed's note - why would you want to get rid of Agger and Gerrard?}

Ed from what has been said on here and elsewhere it sounds like Aggers days are numbered. As for Gerrard, I would never get rid of him although I do understand what this guy was trying to say. When Gerrard plays everyone else takes a back seat and expects Gerrard to do it all. If he wasn't there then other players would have to step up to the plate. If Gerrards injury is a bad one, and I hope it's not, then these background players will need to step forward anyway.

MUSHROOM

Raul should be well able to fill the midfield, he was brilliant last night against Spain in the centre, this should be his chance to prove that he can do a job in the middle for LFC. Midfield of Raul, Cole and Maxi + A other, should be able to handle West Ham.

{ed's note - it is more because Jose doesn't rate him and because he is fat and lazy that he is not playing. Nothing to do with tactical systems as Mourinho already altered his system to suit the players that were at the club, he would alter it again if Benzema was good enough}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I totally disagree with that. Mourinho didn't adapt his style of play when he came to Real Madrid. He plays the same system he played at Inter Milan. Mourinho makes the players adapt to suit his style of play, he doesn't change. It's a pretty unanimous thing in La Liga by pundits etc. who watch Real week in week out that Benzema doesn't fit into Mourinho's style of play because he doesn't fancy interchanging with Ronaldo and Higuain and end up out wide for a portion of the game.

Look at Eto'o, came to Inter and was unhappy at being played on the right. Month or so later, adapted well to the role and we even seen him tracking back and helping out Maicon.

I do wish people would stop seeing (or hearing about) a player that looks good in a 'one-off' game and then coming on here and posting what a 'great must-have' signing he is - Take Karim Benzema - Yes, he had a reaonable game last night, but the England defence gave the guy bags of room and seem scared to put in a decent hard tackle.

Since his move to Real from Lyon, he has only had limited game time and there must be a reason for this - The chosen one is rarely wrong !

If anyone has seen the lad play live on a regular basis, despite his excellent goalscoring record, they will have seen that he has the great ability to look, act and play as if he is not remotely interested, when he is up against so called 'small' clubs.

We have enough of them alrady at the club and do not need more!

We need to bring Crouch back and give him a run with Torres - Could be an excellent partnership.

- - - - - - - - - - -
Benzema rarely got a game under Pellegrini. If you'd actually done your research, Benzema is getting more game time under Mourinho. The 'special' one (not the chosen one as you think) has only been in charge of Real since the start of this season, so I don't know what you're on about. Are you saying Mourinho contacted Pelligrini stating not to play Benzema when Pelligrini was in charge? Didn't think so. .

Keep him on the outside of the football club and remove any influence he has managed to build up.

They still want to use his name, but do not want to give him any policy making powers or influence over transfers

Or future direction of the club.

They see him as a real potential landmine

who needs to be managed like the pensioner he is and will never be made manager of liverpool football club as long as NEIV own the club.

I admire your optimism but this will not happen. For starters he is 28 and that would go against everything NESV stand for. His wages would be outrageous and there would be little if any resale value on him.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Just because NESV say they want young players with re-sale value and low wages, doesn't mean every single player we sign will be young, on low wages and have re-sale value.

I don't think there will be a "wage cap" type stance or an age limit on who we sign, because that's what people seem to be suggesting following Henry's comments.

I would imagine that Henry has came in, and looked at players like Maxi who is nearly 30 and on £80,000 a week and doesn't offer much both on and off the field. Or someone like Poulsen who offers nothing on or off the field and is on high wages.

I think Henry is intent on stopping us from paying over the odds wage and fee wise on players. So players he will be looking at will probably be younger meaning lower wages or they will be worth their value in money commercially.

If every signing had to be young, low wages and with re-sale value, does that mean that we sign a player at 19 on low wages, he turns into a top class player, and we sell him at 28 because he is too old? No. Because if you invest in young talent, and they turn world class, they will demand top wages anyway.

The fans have been saying it for years that we need backup for Torres & Stevie G. The one who posted this. . . . How old are u? Kenny was a success at managing. Ok he didn't do anythin at newcastle ( who has ) He was a great manager for Liverpool look at his record for christ sake, it was souness that wrecked Liverpool he came in and wanted his own team and wiped the successful team of kennys out, he got them all out to quick, with the likes of David speedy. So before ppl start saying kenny was a failure have a proper look what he has done before you speak. Plus Blackburn were second devision and he took them to win the league from a nothing club to prem title holders. THE MAN IS A LEDGEND
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I agree with what your saying except Dalglish left Souness with a squad of old gits. Souness did try and change it too quickly with players that did not make the grade. And the word you mean is LEGEND, and that's what Kenny is. I used to love watching him play.

Just want to add a little food for thought. The bandwagon for getting the kids in the team is well underway. Furthermore the idea gets distorted and people start to lose focus and objectivity and before you know it we have a wish list of 8/ 9 kids in the first team.

On first glance on saturday in the game with Villa and manure it appeared that it was the kids that over ran manure. But in the last 10 mins it was actually the kids that lost the two points with their naive, ignorant play. You have to weigh the good with the bad, yes on one hand they were very refreshing and got the deserved two goal lead. Yet by the end of the game it was Villa who ended up thankful for a point.

There needs to be a balance. Villa didn't have it on Saturday, and likewise we certainly do not have it the other way.

Hodgson is proving even worse than Rafa in this regard and after enduring 5/ 6 years where youth wasn't given an acceptable chance to have a new manager extending this blanket ban of blooding must be very, very frustrating.

However let's not get carried away with talk of fielding anyone under the age of 21. We must use the likes of Gerrard, Carra, Torres to give ample support, not cut the youngsters adrift and a sink or swim mentality adopted.

Stop the rumours of Johnson joining us from Man City - It will NEVER happen.

City picked the lad up very cheaply (by todays standards) and do use him quite regularly (as a sub) and, if he continues to develop and produce the goods, will play an awful lot more and, in time, be worth a lot of pennies !

City may be stupidly rich, but with the new rules re. expenditure coming in, they will be looking to hold on to their players who could, if required, be sold for a huge profit - simple business sense.

The only way Liverpool will move forward is to rebuild today so that they can challenge in 2/ 3 years time

We should get rid of (if not bench them/ or play them as reserve team)

1. Carragher
2. Gerrard
3. Maxi
4. Kuyt
5. Konchesky
6. Aurelio
7. Agger
8. Johnson
9. Jovanovic
10. Cole
11. Degen
12. El Zhar
13. Kyrgiakos
14. Skrtel
15. ROY HODGSON

We should bring back from loan
1.Ayala
2.Insua
3.Aquillani

if i am forgetting a couple of name let me know?

Our squad should look like this

Reina (captain)

Wilson Ayala
Kelly Insua

Lucas
Meireles Pacheco

Aquillani

Ngog
Torres

subs: spearing, shelvey, amoo, mavinga, suso + new gk

PLUS - Whoever we sign (not squad players but rather 1 world class player every transfer to get the team forward)

I figured we are playing crap, so we might as well have a new squad where we will challenge in 2/ 3 years time.

Freaking unbelievable - Given is not even first choice at moneybags city. . world-class? Beh!

How old is he? He is too old for u's. Plus everyone should shut up. Liverpool supporters should be saying as one no no no we are not selling reina. And telling club they should be doing everything in power to keep him. He is world class and just what we need to move forwards. He is 1 ov the 3/ 4 players at Liverpool that we need towards title winning team. We need to be adding reina's not letting them go. End of

Lots of enthusiasm for Lukaku and his goal scoring record and ability to hold down a regular first team place for such a young lad, but didn't we have the same anticipation for Babel when he arrived, I seem to remember he came with a very impressive record from the Dutch league. What say you Ed? {ed's note - except that Babel was watched and dismissed by most observers in football. The likes of Wenger looked at him for years but all of them decided he wasn't really good enough (correctly), whereas all of them want Lukaku.}

What r these jokers calling for keegan and dalglish to return they were both great players but as managers they never left great legacy's behind them of all there sucesses they never built anything worth remembering shame really but they both should have competed with ferguson for years but both made bad career choices my motto is stay were u r and build but these 2 did not listen

As much as we all wanted Robbie Keene to be a success. .he is just not a good enough footballer. .I have heard he likes his drink as well

Of course he does he is Irish. And so what. I hate all this they carnt have a drink lark. If team mates get out on a night out it helps to bond and relax. I think all are lands need to get out Maybe to some deserted island were there is no press get bladded and get all this friction out that's obviously going on between all players and come home talking and ready to forget ( anyone remember the result from a certain golfing game ( golf game ha ) how much affect that had on team. Ie barca result) and get there playing heads on that we know Most of them have, and start getting the points topping up. Without woy ov course

Do you know that it does not matter to woy if we don't like him managing the team; if we keep calling for his head; if the players don't like him; if his tactics are wrong; fi the media give him a pasting! etc, etc.
he will never ever go, until he is forced out, because he knows that he will get his £3million payoff that way, then he will jog on to his next job, and do the same thing again to add to his pension fund, maybe he is eyeing up old red nose fergie's job at man ure when he quits, now that would be a blast!

What the Duck? Dalglish won plenty and left with a great record. He just left us with an ageing team that needed alot of work as Souness found out. He also won the premier league with Blackburn. Agreed he shouldn't return but get your facts right.

As a life long reds fan it is very hard for me to say this. After watching the poor display by england last night i think Cappello has got to go. We need a top class international manager that plays slick attacking football, that knows how to blood the youngsters and knows how to keep the media at bay. He needs to have at least 30 yrs experience and be english.

Most teams had scouts watching
portugal
france
holland
plus a few spanish, german and italian clubs would have had reps watching as well so if you think your the only club watching those players then your fooling yourself! at the min your not even on par with villa and only just about with everton, i remember you lot saying rh was gonna take you forward after what he had done at fulham and how highly inter held him! also how you would mock other teams for living on past history's and how you back your players, managers and board! now look at you your worse than the rest! pot calling the kettle black and people living in glass houses etc etc forget west ham the team you need to worry about in london is fulham for its them that you will battle it out with for europa places? forget the arsenals, spurs' and chelseas they have gone! villa are pulling away. its you fulham, everton!

I just hope our lineup for West Ham is:

Reina
Kelly Carragher Kyrgiakos Aurelio
Lucas Meireles Shelvey
Kuyt Torres Jovanovic

AND put Wilson, Amoo, Pacheco on the bench.

Actually, I was being in dreamland up there. Roy "I HAVE NO CLUE HOW MUCH I AM DRIVING LIVEPOOL FANS NUTS" Hodgson will probably use his so-called experience and put this team:

Reina
Carragher Skrtel Kyrgiakos Aurelio
Meireles Lucas Poulsen Rodriguez
Torres Kuyt

But in the positive maybe grandad woy may be forced to play the of the youth, pacheco time anyone !

Apparently after watching England dour performance last night against France, Roy Hodgson is compiling his wish list for John Henry for the January transfer window.
GK - Foster
DF - Jagielka
DF - Gibbs
DF - Ferdinand
DF - Lescott
MF - Milner
MF - Barry
MF - Walcott
MF - Henderson
S - Carroll
S - Bothroyd

He has decided that the negative tactics and poor display will be in keeping with his own dour and abject approach to the Premier League

Well Ed after Englands game yesterday and the disrecptful way England treat Liverpool with our and their best player do you feel confident we'll beat West Ham without Stevei? (Assuming it is a hamstring injury) A centre midfield without Lucas or Gerrard doesn't sound good. Just hope Shelvey gets a chance to play but would you partner him with Meireles or Poulsen?

I know i've stated Poulsens carp in the past but were not exactly blessed with option are we?

I think that the americans like stats so much u don't need to be a statatition to work out roy has done a terrible job he has the worst away record of all managers and this is the man leading our beloved LFC and it made me laugh the way people got carried away on here after the chelsea result if u looked at the game chelsea battered us quite badly and everyone thought this is our turn around game well we've played 2 so called lower teams and they have shown our weaknesses which is basically hard work and no playmaker or passergerrard is never a playmaker he is a midfielder who can make great runs into the box and feed lovely through balls and shot with his mule kick right boot but to ask him to run with the ball as in dribble that is a no no, what we need is a nasri type of player some one who can get hold of midfieldand control the game allow the so called holding playing to just to take it from the defenders and play through the midfield instead of over it then u can gerrard and torres into the game accept at the moment the guys behind torres and gerrard just r not good enough none of them have vision at all

I can see the new owners going down the route of the french institute i think most of the new back ground staff r going to be made up of french football experts so most of our new transfers will be how a french club is run plenty of youth and damien comolli is gonna find some starlets of the english game this is a man who discovered players for arsenal tottenham and st etienne and look at these clubs now all benefitting it is the main reason we have been behind for so long not getting in qualitie prospects man utd have done it chelsea arsenal tottenham everton man city and what do we have nothing except pacheco who never gets a game and suso the only two while arsenal have about three teams of pachecos and susos we r trying to catch up teams that have been sorting out there youth systems and buying of players for 10years and we r trying to do it in 3 months just cos we have new owners get real guys i agree with what the owners r going to do here and as a personal note get rid of maxi, babel, poulson, kyriagkos, spearing, ayala for some reason the editor thinks he is good but he is not, agger, dirk, and most of the squad and have a squad like arsenal who r great at disposing of useless 28 plus year olds whos heart has gone out of the game and r just looking for there last 4-5 year contract for big bucks plus hodgson has to go he is capellos brother in the tactics front and i remeber a time when teams used to come to anfield being scared that they r going to be pinned back by all our pressured attacking but those days r long gone the last man to get those performances was king kenny and he left when he should have built this club up like ferguson did for utd indianabones

This is my thoughts on our situation.
Woy will be given time by new owners so they can see what he is capable of as manager, they are still learning about the the game " soccerrrr". But I think his career as LFC manager is running out!
We will be signing players in Jan, that is obvious, but the press are guessing our interests most of the time. Who will we sign? He'll knows, they are keeping cards to chest as everyone expects us to have a "warchest".
A new manager will come in in time, we unfortunately have to just wait.
A world class signing might come in, depending on price - which we all know the price is higher in Jan! Some of the younger cheaper players are more likely, strength in depth.
As for current youth, shelvey, eggleston, pacheco

Henry hired Theo Epstein at the age of 28 to run the Boston Red Sox, so I doubt he'd be afraid of hiring Boas to manage Liverpool.

{Editor's Note: As strange analogy - no-one is hired because of their age - it is because they fit the bill.}

Obviously, my point is that Henry will not be scared off by the age and low level of experience for Boas.

I do think Henry actually prefers guys who are younger and that he percieves as having a new and fresh look at things rather than a tired old retread.

Instead of coming on to OUR page trying to insult us i highly advise you that you start paying some real attention on getting the glazers out you h*cking dopes before your debt reaches 1b when you will then be forced to sell rooney , vidic , evra , ferdinand. You come on here slating us for not winning much and saying that we use our history as a excuse? well we use our h*cking history as a excuse because in all this time we have been failing to win trophies 20 years? we still remain more succesful then you. When red nose dies of a heart attack next year you will be truly h*cked your going into decline now the glazers are draining you this decade will now be ours so stop with the h*cking jealousy and wake up.

Also saying that our players want to go? they have never came out and said they want to go apart from johnson whos s*eep anyway atleast are players don't come out lobbing there toys out of there prams for a h*cking pay rise unlike shrek also isn't evra wanting out of the mess now? vidic will too and so will rooney when the rudolph retires.

Liverpools biggest problem is that their wide players are just terrible. Look at the 4 wide players who have been starting for us lately:

RW-Raul Meireles-he is a good, solid player but is woefully out of position on the wing.

LW-Maxi Rodriguez-also a good player but is natural to the right side which seriously hampers his ability to make an impact

RB-Jaime Carragher-Again a good player who is out of position playing fullback. He hasn't nearly the pace to be effective out there.

LB-Paul Konchesky-Finally a player who is playing his natural position. Far from a star but he can play out there. Wouldn't be so bad if our wingers and right back weren't all playing out of position.

A managers job is to get the best out of his players and you simply cannot do that playing so many guys out of position.
