Eds, Ayoze Perez looks good in below average Newcastle all season . Sharp in finishing and can create, looks like the sort of player that will fit right into liverpool system . Is liverpool monitoring him?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

he ed 01 just wanted to ask a question. I just wanted to know your opinion on gareth bale as a player. It seems everytime i see him he changes my opinion, one match he looks unplayable the other your think madrid payed that much. your reply is appreciated.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He's not around but I am sure he will answer this if you ask on the Real Madrid page.}

Watching the goal replay from behind the goal. Gerrard makes a half heart challenge then just stands and watches without even jogging back. i'm sorry but the guy is a passenger these days.

He will probably score the winner but its like playing with ten.

Marco. To be fair it's Gerrard last few games and can is wasted in the backline. I stated yesterday we needed another midfielder in and around top one at that. Apart from henderson in midfield were is the quailty? Allen and Gerrard will both be gone in the summer as with lucas possibly. We definitely need a top midfielder in this summer to help henderson and can who will hopefully taken out of the done back line

We should do everything we reasonably can to keep Lucas. Team is always wayward in the middle without him.

Agree14 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - That happened in January.

Garrard is already in America, doesn't want any injuries to hamper the transition does he?

Emre Can's best position is midfield - I hope whoever is in charge starts to actually use him in that position rather than continue with this daft experiment that sees him turn out at centre back. Don't get me wrong if we had an injury crisis at the back it is useful to have a player who can deputise there but, in all seriousness, Can should not be starting week in week out at centre back, it is ludicrous.

Agree18 Disagree0

19 Apr 2015 18:02:49
I agree with the Can comments, he is a def mid that likes to go forward and is good in that role.

Ward-Prowse of Southampton is an attacking mid I have admired this season and one for the future, acquiring him and an older attacking mid would be great but costly no doubt.

Any info on Ward-Prowse future? Anyone looking to buy him?

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Ward-Prowse but not from Liverpool.}

I'm glad Gerrard won't get his day out against arsenal he didn't deserve today's given as he's always awful against villa and all he's done against us in the last 2 years. Man Utd should have been his last game

I think it was a mistake for him & Sketle to just walk back into the team.

Continho our best player by a mile all season has scored yet another important goal and signed a contract not so long ago with no bother atall and on less than sterling and henderson. Cracking young man and player.

Edd001can I get your thoughts on united if you're not busy mate? They were awful most of this season have picked up results and shown a bit of decent form and now they are suddenly hyped to win the title next season. To me in still see a side with a poor manager and players. Some excellent young players but a technically poor side.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on their summer spending, which is likely to be large. Though I still do not think LVG is a long term answer, they may be picking up results but there is still a few unhappy souls at the club, and the manager's confrontational attitude is not conducive to sorting out those issues. They are simply not as strong as Chelsea, or even close to them, with a worse manager too, they are playing with the rest of the Prem for second next season as things stand. Trouble is that they don't need to be technically gifted in the Prem, it is so poor technically that they just need to be physically imposing to compete.}

19 Apr 2015 17:52:43
Sheesh Al, you need to get over your United obsession mate. I agree and disagree with Ed001; Chelsea are a big step ahead of everyone right now and will take some catching. However, whist LVG is alleged to be abrasive, you only have to see how the team has pulled together and now has great spirit. No idea what goes on behind closed doors but the step change in performances in recent weeks has been marked. City are ageing, Srsenal are perennial under performers and no idea what has happened to your lot this year. 2nd is there for the taking for United and with the right signings, who knows?

Al, you could be a premiership manager with this awful attempt to deflect attention away from your own shortcomings.

Ed's it has been mentioned a few times that Rogers is not necessarily going to be the manager next season. With that in mind what are the chances of us going after Klopp. Personally would love to see him come in

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Somewhere very, very close to zero.

With poor oul lucas getting injured I don't think Brendan had a better option personally I'm gutted for Lucas hope we get to the final for him.

@Tommy - how about Emre Can? He looks good in midfield (or has done the 2 times he has actually featured there) and clearly struggles against physical players when playing as a centre back. Oh and he is completely wasted in right midfield/right wing back.

Agree4 Disagree0

19 Apr 2015 18:34:08
No balance with Allen in midfield. if it's a 2 man midfield, Hendo is the better at pushing forward but Allen is then exposed in defence, particularly if against a taller/more physical midfield.

If a 3 man midfield with a CDM behind him, Allen just isn't dangerous enough going forward to justify his spot over the likes of Llalana, Coutinho or Can.

Gerard is clearly not a holding midfielder either, and lacks the legs or pace to be a box to box or attacking midfielder anymore.

I think it's critical we fix this problem in the summer.

Ed001, what do you think are the pros and cons of having a player manager?
P.s keep up the good work!

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I guess the pro would be it being easier to make changes on the pitch. Only trouble is that it is more difficult to see what is needed on the pitch, which is why teams have managers in the first place. I do not think a player manager is a good idea, Dalglish barely played when he was player manager because of that. A manager needs to be able to look on from the outside, rather than being too involved in playing.}

19 Apr 2015 12:20:42
Quick question. If we lose to Villa today and City win today, our season is all but over. I mean not mathematically for 4th but just as good.
Can you see Rodgers sacked next week rather then in the summer? If so I'd be keen to know if Pascoe and Marsh are out too or will one cover the last 5 games?
Could Gerrard even be temp player boss for last games?
Just general thoughts and banter on these scenarios
