What's everyone's thoughts on koulibaly from napoli.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2017 23:58:34
Yeah nice name.

20 Jun 2017 00:01:47
Not seen him play but trust Klopp.

20 Jun 2017 01:20:16
We will get VVD so no need for Koulibaly even though he's an excellent defender.

20 Jun 2017 01:48:02
Decent defender but poor passer and panics on the ball.

20 Jun 2017 01:51:26
Similar to sakho on the ball looks a bit unsettled but really good defender.

20 Jun 2017 03:50:13
As long as he is better than Lovren, I'm happy. Would be very handy defending set pieces but can he play the ball out of the back comfortably? Not sure about the cost though, 40 million looks a bit steep imo.

20 Jun 2017 04:08:53
Koulibaly is Conte first pick. If he leaves it will be for Chelsea. Which then opens the path for us to sign VVD. Wishful thinking.? 😝.

20 Jun 2017 06:57:11
People still beleive we will get VVD? what and go back on club statement. Nah. Move on.

19 Jun 2017 22:31:18
Ed02,
Is there such a thing as an untouchable transfer? Or in other words, can a club offer enough money to get any player they wanted?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There will be limits.}

20 Jun 2017 01:21:01
Surely it's largely up to the player, if they are happy and wouldn't leave for any money, and the club doesn't want to sell, they can't be forced to.

{Ed002's Note - No there are players who the club would be unable to buy.}

20 Jun 2017 09:21:47
Ed, that is what I was trying to say!

19 Jun 2017 22:12:00
Hi eds if yis are about, correct me if im wrong her I fully understand we need to spend to keep up with all of our competitors but we did finish fourth last season. which we would have taken at the start of the season but apart from the wobble we had around january we would have been up there so why sign loads of expensive players when we only need to change lb and winger and the players we have finished fourth together they will be better for the experience.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - It would have been another disappointing season for the owners and Klopp now wants to make changes.}

20 Jun 2017 10:15:09
Because we just managed to finish 4th with early elimination from the domestic cups which the fans will not accept again and with the added European games we need a team that can compete on all levels thus the need for added players. All players are expensive and if we want to compete at the level the fans demand we need to spend big on players that are proven quality.

19 Jun 2017 19:25:56
If by what SSN reporting that City preparing bid for Aubameyang, where would that leave Aguero? He was competing with Jesus, and his place was in jeopardy, so would he be happy possibly being 3rd choice, if Aubameyang was to sign for them? Would he become available and would LFC be interested?
Thanks for your hard work eds.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

{Ed025's Note - if aubameyang went to city then yes i would expoect aguero to become available hersey, whether or not liverpool would be interested is anyones guess mate..

19 Jun 2017 19:32:17
I can't see Aguero willing to move to us, his wages are enormous and the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG are all looking for forwards! Sadly Liverpool will not be able to compete for this caliber of player any time soon so just forget about the likes of Aubameyang and Aguero and van Dijk and stop wasting the editors times.

19 Jun 2017 19:48:31
Thanks for your reply Ed025. I'm sure clubs that could afford higher wages would want him, but assuming he is settled in the North West it may not come down to wages. I know it would unlikely happen, but I believe Liverpool should be looking at that type of Calibre.
Thanks again Eds.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

19 Jun 2017 20:26:55
If aguero was available any and every club would be interested.

19 Jun 2017 20:33:01
shiisha

Van dijk was more than happy to come to us.

If we can match the wages then I'm sure we can compete for these players.

19 Jun 2017 20:41:07
i think you will find out that van dijk who is a Saints player is not in the same boat as a player such as Aguero, plus Van dijk was tapped up and we never agreed anything with the saints so again pipe dreams mr. Lavers.

19 Jun 2017 20:59:53
I honestly despair at questions like this.

19 Jun 2017 21:42:58
Sorry shiisha my bad just you mentioned them all in the same sentence so I thought that's how you where classing them. (Personally I wouldn't)

In my eyes the tapping up is irrelevant, van dijk would have come to us so its not really pipe dreams is it, if everything was done in the correct order then we would have signed him.

19 Jun 2017 22:26:23
VVD or a player of similar or better quality is, at this moment in time more important to us than the strikers named above.

Until we find that defensive leader we will be open to the same calamity as last year.

Back 4 first in my opinion.

19 Jun 2017 18:39:26
Well Man City apparently in advanced talks with aubameyang! There goes that little rumour for Liverpool 😂 But srlsy how many forwards do they want?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

19 Jun 2017 18:53:00
We should go for Aguero!

19 Jun 2017 19:34:00
Yeah we should go for Aguero, Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane, and while we are at it we could also buy Dybala, Alex Sandro and see if Atletico Madrid will loan us Koke!

19 Jun 2017 20:37:26
Man City aren't in advanced talks with him. They are preparing a bid. That doesn't seem that far advanced to me. Even if we are going for him we must expect a lot of interest from elsewhere.

19 Jun 2017 20:49:22
Not going to happen.

20 Jun 2017 14:38:18
What are people's opinions on aguero. Obviously he is a world class striker but his work rate isn't great and his injury record is almost as good as studges.

{Ed025's Note - hes world class..

19 Jun 2017 18:24:54
Hi Eds,

Just wondering if we made an approach for Saed Kolsinac (however you spell it) before he signed for arsenal. Would have left no need for a left back this summer and for free!

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Try the Sharkopod.}

19 Jun 2017 16:34:49
Afternoon Eds,

Hope you are all keeping cool. A question if I may? With wages going beyond astronomical, do major sponsors such as Nike etcetera agree to contributing in some way to potential player wages, so as to lessen the impact to a club's bottom line? It doesn't take a scientific calculator to compute the numbers involved with cash in and cash paid out on signings and salaries to realise what clubs can and most definitely cannot afford. If they do however, it must create an absolute tax nightmare.

Much love,

N.

Thank.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - No Nike don't pay the wages of Liverpool, a club they have no involvement with whatesoever.}

19 Jun 2017 15:24:44
Ed002, if you're about, can you please dismiss all this rubbish about aubameyang so that we can return to our normal lives?
Thank you.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}

19 Jun 2017 14:19:51
Afternoon all, Eds I don't for one second think we will get aubameyang, klopp hasn't made that strong a believer haha, just wondering though seen as he's up for sale and PSG deal seems to be off do u think we will even just make any sort of contact with Dortmund for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

19 Jun 2017 13:47:01
Eds

Aubameyang

Have we actually made an official enquiry or is this all codswallop? And if he was offered the wages he is reportedly looking for while PSG were in line, would he consider us?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach for him by Liverpool.}

19 Jun 2017 20:10:31
That's that cleared up then cheers Ed

👍🏻.

19 Jun 2017 11:03:16
Posted this time last year about Bradley Dack- Ed002 confirmed he was being watched by lots of prem teams (including us) . I assume our interest is gone but do you think he will make a prem move this window?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely.}

19 Jun 2017 18:42:55
Deserves a move to a higher level imo. Could see the likes of Newcastle being interested in him.

19 Jun 2017 09:10:32
Hey Ed's have we shown any interest is alessio ramagnoli? I just read a team in North West England could be about to lodge a 25 million bid.25 million seems abit tight so I assumed it was us.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - None.}

19 Jun 2017 17:35:31
Hi Eds,

Could you enlighten us on Sturridge's future? Are the club actively looking to sell or would they prefer him to stay?

I know I'll get a lot of stick for saying this but I think it's time we moved him on and tried targeting someone more reliable in terms of fitness. I know we aren't short of goals but with more games we are going to need more fit senior players this year to cope with hopefully a good run in Europe.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - not actively looking to sell but will consider offers.}

19 Jun 2017 17:23:50
Confederations cup Germany v Australia outstanding player on the pitch one Julian Brandt pity we couldn't coinvience him that his future is at Anfield looks the real deal and also Hector solid as always surely worth rekindling our interest.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2017 17:34:19
Not prepared to fight for selection = no heart.
Paisley wouldn't give Brandt a passing glance.

19 Jun 2017 17:55:56
Why are people giving him so much grief? He is a Young player trying to improve, he only wants what is best for himself, and he probably had been advised not to join a club like lfc. Look how things turned out for markovic and grujic.

19 Jun 2017 18:49:26
Comparing what a manager from 30/ 40 years ago to todays footballers has no relevance Ron.

19 Jun 2017 18:53:21
It does to me. Paisley is the greatest manager, there's no manager around who couldn't learn from him.

19 Jun 2017 20:28:50
I agree, if you want to sign a player, the best you can say is if you earn it you will play, can't Guarentee a starting spot.

19 Jun 2017 20:31:02
And dalglish was the greatest player. Luis Suarez wouldn't have laced his boots. Or so me dad says.

19 Jun 2017 21:53:47
Diego will probably never be surpassed as the greatest player. The nearest anyone has come to a "one man team".

19 Jun 2017 22:42:16
A lot of current managers would learn from The great Bob Paisley.

Decency, Humility and Repect being a few. The other can't be learnt but can be admired GENIUS.

I don't know if red fuzz is old enough to have witnessed it but if you can imagine Fergie without all the moaning, crap and the big checkbook and multiply him by 20 then your getting close to Bob.

19 Jun 2017 16:53:30
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Aubameyang only turn world class after Klopp left?

Believable6 Unbelievable10

19 Jun 2017 17:19:25
Yes, it was like a switch. One day mediocre, one day world class.

19 Jun 2017 17:32:09
Here's our method for improving Clyne and Lovren right there.

19 Jun 2017 17:33:14
Zed on form today mate 😂😂.

19 Jun 2017 18:02:57
Aubameyang was already a rising star at St. Etienne. Everybody knew he had it. Much like Mbappe now. It was just a question of time and him finding a higher profile time for him to develop.

19 Jun 2017 18:30:13
Trying to make a serious point here guys, looking at the records he didn't become the goal machine he is now until after Klopp left. Everyone's assuming he'd be awesome because Klopp's used him before but if Klopp couldn't get the best of him then why would anything have changed now? I doubt we're even an option for him but it could be a very expensive mistake to go after him.

20 Jun 2017 06:22:03
Putney all I will say is let's players developmental curves are not linear.

19 Jun 2017 16:29:33
Ed01/ 25 do you think we will try and sign more than one winger? Yes if Salah signs he will fit straight in and we will see him and Mane on our wings as first choices. But knowing our injury problems do you think we will look to add depth in these positions? The only depth we have are kids and the only Kid I can see maybe make it is Ojo and that's a maybe. Do you think we could look at getting Martins from Sporting as well? I know you said we have shown interest. I know its is in 2019 but the AFCON will come around again and we will end up with no one to fit in when they go.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - why would we? If the AFCON is the issue, we can buy next season, if need be.}

19 Jun 2017 16:40:22
What about Injuries ed? Mane only played 27 Games last season? I really think we could do with one more winger and we could have Mane/ Salah/ New Signing/ Ojo as our wingers which would be ideal. Isn't Luan a winger? Have we shown any more interest in him?

{Ed001's Note - so you want to buy a whole team of back ups in case of injury?}

19 Jun 2017 17:06:54
Or give a youngster a go? It's only 3-4 weeks at most.

19 Jun 2017 17:39:48
Ojo and Woodburn can be our backups for Mane and Salah. We do not have the wealth of Real or City to afford luxurious backups. Or would u rather choose luxury wingers over a left back and CB?

19 Jun 2017 15:41:23
If we were actually willing (and that's a big if) to pay VVD £200,000 a week, it seems wages won't be a stumbling block this summer.
Whether the club wants to pay it or not is another matter, I suppose with the new to deal and potential champions league, income has risen by a fair bit, although it would be presumptuous to buy assuming we'll qualify.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

19 Jun 2017 13:52:41
Hi eds and all,

First time poster here, does anyone know the date of when we find out who we face in the champions league qualifiers? Fingers crossed it's not a tricky one! 🤞.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2017 14:02:14
I believe we find out our opponents in the first week in August and then the two-legged play-off is playing the same month.

19 Jun 2017 17:07:25
4th August is the draw with games 16/ 17th and 23/ 24th August.

19 Jun 2017 13:01:18
Aubameyang. Don't really understand that one. Super similar style as Sturridge imo. Except the injuries.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

19 Jun 2017 13:06:15
And the fact he has banged in 30+ goals regularly, has worked very effectively as part of Klopp's gegenpressing style and is one of the top 3 in the world in his position?

I am a big fan of Sturridge, don't get me wrong, and he is the most talented striker we have in our team currently. But Aubameyang is in a totally different class. They may be similar, but one is better than the other.

19 Jun 2017 13:19:58
Auba is looking for a big pay day as the PSG deal went to crap. That is why his agents are sounding off LFC as a possible destination due to the obvious link with Klopp, all while forgetting that Klopp has already said that he won't target BVB players (which he has not done since he arrived) . First off, we won't pay the wages he wants. Second, do we need him? NO as scoring goals is not the issue with us. Moral of the story? Don't get your hopes up, lads cos it ain't going to happen.

19 Jun 2017 13:21:40
We won't get him. Can dream but PSG, Real and City will be in the running before us.

I also think it is more important to sure up that defence this year.

19 Jun 2017 13:28:49
I'd love to have your connections, Brussels Red. You must be so ITK to have your finger in so many major football team pies.

Or are you choosing to believe the other regurgitated crap that I'm believing?!

Its all bs and conjecture!

However, I do disagree with the "scoring goals is not the issue for us". Most successful people agree that 100% improvement is much more sensible to achieve by improving 100 things by 1%, not 1 thing by 100%. We should always be looking to improve every single position in our first team every window, and if a option comes up that does that, why wouldn't we?!

19 Jun 2017 13:30:17
Couldnt have said it better, Brussels.

19 Jun 2017 13:52:54
I agree with you Zeddicus.

I am pretty sure United aren't short on left wing what with Young, Martial, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Mata and Rashford all capable of playing there.

Does anybody here seriously believe they will turn down Ronaldo though with the feeble excuse of "yeah but we need a right back because Valencia is out of position". This is why United win trophies and we don't, simply put. For years we have bought 7 or 8 squad fillers, instead of gunning for a world class player and a few squad fillers. You want the title that has to change.

It is probably media junk anyway, but the point is that if he is available and we are not in the running, that is astonishing.

19 Jun 2017 13:54:27
PSG has ruled themselves out while Real is signing Mbappe. City remains a threat but then we wiped them off for VVD. Didn't we?

19 Jun 2017 15:33:35
Worth bearing in mind that City have Aguero and Jesus, would they be in the running?

19 Jun 2017 16:13:08
Zed, I'm no ITK. I'm just someone with enough knowledge of transfer dealings to be able to form an opinion by observing the goins-on reported with a transfer that is this big. Auba was all set for PSG and that deal fell through. Now he is being touted in . China. If that is true, no man nor his dog believes he's going there to win the CL. Hence, he is looking for a big pay day. Remember, this is the guy who kept saying that he would only leave BVB for Real.

Now that that deal won't happen and PSG pulled the plug, it is normal for the media thru his agents to sound off other suitors hence, the sounding off of LFC even tho, no ED has ever said we were interested. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to form that opinion. You just need to follow the money trail. Even you can do that.

As for the our striking options, I feel we can improve the players who are already here by helping Firmino improve his output in front of goal, help Studge stay fit if he is staying and add more goalscorers to the team which is what the Salah deal will do if it happens. Why do I think that? Cos since Klopp arrived, LFC is top 3 in goals scored, chances created, and shots on target, all accomplished without a so called "goalscorer" to rely on. So why spend 60m on an area we are not lacking in while we have more important holes to fill in the squad like the FB positions and adding more quality depth to the squad?

19 Jun 2017 17:21:47
No team has won the title with a poor defence. Period.

19 Jun 2017 17:47:17
Salah-Aubameyang-Mane is clearly better than Salah-Firmino-Mane. And I don't quite agree that Sturridge should be keeping us from buying Aubameyang. Aside from the fact that they are both 27 and score goals (strikers do that, don't they? ), I don't see the similarity in their games. Sturridge is your (almost) classic striker, hanging around the penalty box for interplay and scoring opportunities. He's lost a lot of his acceleration. Aubameyang is your simple pure runner. He'll blast by defenders one on one, head for goal and neatly slot the ball past the GK. You can use the same traits to describe the differences between Firmino and Aubameyang.

Coutinho deep in the midfield pinging passes to Salah, Aubameyang or Mane would make us one of Europe's most dangerous attacks. But as has been said, it's too quiet on the defensive front with rumours, and I hope we sort out those problems too.

Oh wait. The AFCON is in 2019. Let's just forget about all this Aubameyang nonsense.

19 Jun 2017 12:40:31
I firmly believe P-E Aubameyang will happen.

With Kirikou leaving, and with Bobby preferring the Sumo-style topknot, we have a significant gap in our lineup for a full on mohawk.

Klopp has long been an admirer of ensuring the 'hair balance' of his sides are right. Its taken a while to get the right formula, but he has now cracked it and requires the mohawk to come back in.

Oh, and because £60m for a 40 goals a year striker who fits with (and has worked in) a Klopp pressing system before is a no brainer.

Much as I love Studge, all of the great teams have improved every year, even when there appeared to be no need. Totally with Adam here, if he's available, keen and we can raid the piggy bank, do it!

Believable10 Unbelievable7

19 Jun 2017 12:49:09
Totally agrew with you mate. I personally find it ludicrous if we could have signed him and passed him on.
He is in the top 3 arguably in his position. And it is not every day, we can have a shot at a player of that calibre. I think Firmino is a fantastic player but Pierre is miles ahead of him. And if given a choice between VVD and Pierre, I'd choose Aubamayeng everyday.

19 Jun 2017 13:05:16
so him missing a champ leagues game to go out on the lash with his pals would be a good investment would it? maybe we could throw that in his contract so he might turn up.

19 Jun 2017 13:05:57
I will happily spend £60 mill for 40 goals a calendar year! Top 2 on regular basis as well domestic trophies. Who would pass on? If not priority then make it one! Simple.

19 Jun 2017 13:07:20
Have I missed something? Everyone going on as if we have had the chance to sign him and passed it up. If that is the case then I am in agreement, but I really can't imagine it.

19 Jun 2017 13:21:06
Moreno looks like he's going to go too, so we do need another silly haircut.

19 Jun 2017 13:22:06
Don't believe we have passed it up, 5, just that there seems to be some chatter on t'internet that he is interested. Probably nothing, but nice to dream.

Nirvana, I really couldn't care less! He scores loads of goals a year, Klopp has worked successfully with him and he is used to Klopps style. And he would improve our first team. That's all I'm interested in, really.

19 Jun 2017 13:24:21
Most of us couldn't imagine us spending 60 million pounds on a centre back. But apparently we were close to it.
Maybe the club can surprise us this summer.

19 Jun 2017 13:25:29
Thank you Fencey for focusing on the important bit of my post!

:)

19 Jun 2017 13:26:20
It ain't going to happen. I suggest many come to terms with that fact sooner rather than later otherwise, they will have a very hard time getting over it when it does not happen.

19 Jun 2017 14:27:59
Shoot for the moon and hit the stars.

Shoot for the pub and bore your mates whilst you moan about how your team never win anything.

19 Jun 2017 13:58:21
Imagine being so pessimistic that you try to even rub it on others.
No problem getting excited over silly season.

19 Jun 2017 14:00:13
It isn't great that he missed a game whilst out drinking but we don't know the story. Perhaps he was given the night off? Perhaps he had fallen out with Tuchel who is publically known to be a bit of a D head?

Suarez bites people. Ronaldo is arrogant. Cantona fly kicked a spectator. Gazza was an alcoholic. Madonna was a cheat. Roy Keane openly admitted trying to hurt people. Ramos gets about 3 red cards a season. Messi hasn't paid a fair amount of taxes in his entire career. Tevez was a mercenary. Aguero misses 20 games a season with injury.

Sometimes, with genius, comes a little bit of madness. At least he just had a few drinks instead of attacking or eating someone! Didn't hurt his goal tally though did it.

19 Jun 2017 14:08:34
You guys have no vision - if we get Aubemeyang we don't have to worry about Mendy or VVD

Play Salah, Sturridge, Aubemeyang and Mane upfront, drop Coutinho and Firmino into midfield to feed them chances, play Hendo and Matip at CB, with Llalana and Gini at FB and don't worry about conceding. just score the cr@p out of the opposition. might even score against West Brom occasionally!

19 Jun 2017 17:36:23
That's true zimbo, it worked for Ossie Ardiles at Spurs.

19 Jun 2017 11:45:11
Any news on any sponsorship for main stand plus any news on redevelopment of Anfield road. Would be hoping for at least 62k if possible.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

19 Jun 2017 12:08:35
it is not possible to go above 60k capacity without the necessary transport links to the stadium.

to do this would require train access to ground. never going to happen.

19 Jun 2017 12:10:17
I think one of the eds answered this, something to do with fsg still annoyed with the backlash from the fans regarding ticket prices, and that it would cost a bomb too. they put the 2nd phase exspansion on hold.
Not sure about sponsorship, Search function might help.

19 Jun 2017 11:40:18
Aside from the usual Gerrard/ Suarez/ Torres etc, who's everybody's favourite player within the last 15 years?

Got to be Riise!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

19 Jun 2017 11:46:13
Garcia for me!

19 Jun 2017 11:46:33
I'd definatley go with Alonso mate.

19 Jun 2017 11:47:12
Agger for me.

19 Jun 2017 12:01:38
Hyypia
Made us solid at the back. Always a threat from corners too.

{Ed025's Note - great player and leader gazza..

19 Jun 2017 12:22:44
Xabi Great Alonso! The best ever!

19 Jun 2017 12:23:50
Jari Litmanen - although that may be 16 years ago now.

19 Jun 2017 12:27:12
Dossena just for that one week where he scored against both Real Madrid and Manchester United XD.

19 Jun 2017 12:47:01
Didi Hamann. We always looked better with him in the team.

19 Jun 2017 12:54:04
Litmamen or Patrick Berger.

19 Jun 2017 13:07:34
Dirk kuyt has to be up there.

19 Jun 2017 13:32:28
Daniel Agger. Left before his time too.

19 Jun 2017 13:36:56
Without question it has to be Carragher.

19 Jun 2017 13:59:33
Hypia, closely followed by Carragher.

{Ed025's Note - carra was never the most gifted of footballers hjikle but what he lacked in ability he certainly made up for in passion and commitment, something i feel is lacking in a lot of todays players mate..

19 Jun 2017 14:01:27
Dirk Kuyt.

19 Jun 2017 14:05:19
Has to be Henderson.

{Ed025's Note - really?..

19 Jun 2017 14:30:02
Mcmanman was untouchable in his best days.

19 Jun 2017 15:13:31
Compose a team out of the above and we'd be on to a winner!

19 Jun 2017 15:13:39
Alonso all the way.

19 Jun 2017 17:02:39
Titi Camara maybe more than 15 tho lol.

19 Jun 2017 17:37:18
Djimi "Champions League Winner" Traore 🏆.

19 Jun 2017 18:06:32
Paul 2 games konchesky. 🎉.

19 Jun 2017 18:23:44
Sean " I'm faster than Michael Owen" Dundee.

19 Jun 2017 19:40:12
Conor Coady.

19 Jun 2017 21:48:31
Easy. Gary Mc! !

19 Jun 2017 11:20:36
Was curious if there is any update on center back targets?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Jun 2017 12:21:07
Yes there is. Dian Bobo Balde has emerged as a serious target and alternative to VVD. Mr Johnson (on behalf of LFC) scheduled to meet player's xlub and representatives on August 31 in Bucharest.

Frank Martins (LFC 3rd party) be put on standby to accelerate matters if deal agreed late to beat deadline day.

Other than that, talk around certain, well placed circles in Liverpool is that Klopp feels satisfied with his summer business and looking at no more additions once Bobo Balde is swooped for.

I hope that helps mate.

19 Jun 2017 13:27:27
Isn't Balde about 45 years old now? Lol.

19 Jun 2017 15:11:07
that has too be a poor joke.

19 Jun 2017 10:13:13
Its nice to see Phil Coutinio sponsoring a football match while on holiday.

He supplied his team wirh our new home kit and was pictured wearing one himself, .

NOT THE ACTIONS OF SOMEONE WITH ANY IDEA OF CHANGING CLUBS ANYTIME SOON.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2017 10:23:33
The only club he wants to move is Barcelona and they are not looking at him atm. I expect Iniesta to play atleast one more season. So if we end up trophy less next season the he is off!

19 Jun 2017 11:48:54
Why? Like he said why go and be another number at Barcelona when he could become a legend and be adored here.

19 Jun 2017 11:55:44
No need to yell.

19 Jun 2017 12:03:49
Agreed with James except he's already a legend and adored here. On his day he can be up there with the best in the world and has had some scintillating performances in the last few seasons. Now that he is hitting his prime we have a seriously dangerous attacking player on our roster.

19 Jun 2017 12:30:11
@Jamsey

Why do you think he will be just a number at Barca? There aren't any legends in that Barcelona midfield. Once iniesta hangs up his boots Coutinho will walk into that midfield all day! Coutinho and Verratti alongside Busquets is what will happen in future!

19 Jun 2017 12:35:38
I do really hate the word "roster"

19 Jun 2017 12:50:03
Because it's been reported that Phil himself said he'd just be another number at Barca. and what info do you think you have to expect a midfield of Veratti, Coutinho and Busquets? And you "expect" Iniesta, you talk
Like your mr important I'm sure your after an Editirs role on these pages. but nobody takes you serious.

19 Jun 2017 13:08:17
Inieata is 30 plus and ain't getting younger while Barcelona chasing Verratti has been explained over and over by the Editors on various pages including Chelsea and European.
Not even close to a hindsight!

19 Jun 2017 14:28:20
It's just talk, you name a midfield 3 you expect at Barcelona next year yet only 1 of them currently plays there, the other 2 are key players at their respected clubs and would command huge fees but you talk like it's going to happen like your in football manager in your bedroom! Your obsessed with Iniesta, Barcelona and midfield players.

19 Jun 2017 15:42:09
People should simply stop talking and acting like they know what is going on at Barcelona or with the Couts link to Barcelona cos quite simply, they don't so the nonsensical attitude of projecting one's opinions as facts need to stop as it is becoming pointless with every passing day.

All we know is what the Ed's tell us and Ed02 has said that Couts is still open to the move BUT IMO, it may not happen right now as he may not be ready to make the move yet cos he is loving it here and/ or that Barcelona are seriously short of cash (having given all the money to MSN) hence, they have to sell some of their big earning players Like Turan (who refused to leave) and get the big wages off the books. Couts will be here next season and that is all that should matter now.

21 Jun 2017 03:13:49
He said 'why would I go to Barcelona and be only be another number, when If I stay here and do well they may build a statue of me. ' (paraphrased)

19 Jun 2017 09:33:33
do we have a new update on VVD?

Not panicking as of yet because its not the 1st of July but surely we need to move quicker than we currently are.

who are we likely to go in for?

rivals getting stronger by the minute ( Utd / Everton )

we need to be more aggressive.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

19 Jun 2017 09:47:48
You need to get off from this 1st of July syndrome. It's of no relevance to any club whether you table an offer today or 1st of July. What will all of a sudden happen on 1st of July?

19 Jun 2017 09:48:30
What we need is aggressive tapping up. I haven't seen Klopp like a single 1 of VVD's instagram pictures yet.

19 Jun 2017 11:35:05
The window opens on the 1st of July. That should be relevant 😎.

19 Jun 2017 12:24:17
@Ron
You should consider changing your username to "The legend Ron" ☺️.

19 Jun 2017 12:52:00
And there you go again. "you need to get off from this 1st July. " your trying to sound like Ed 2 in every post you make!

19 Jun 2017 17:38:01
I might do that in the 1st July 🤠.

19 Jun 2017 09:17:55
I think Klopps 'won't go back in for Dortmund players' is an agreement that doesn't count when the player is want away.

Dortmund don't want Klopp enticing (and probably tapping up) their players but if they know a player will be moving on, our money is as green as everyone else's.

Having said that, I'll eat my sock if we sign Aubamayang.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2017 09:49:58
They would be happy to offload him to England and wouldn't give a toss about Klopp or his promises. You are taking about serious money and why wouldn't they consider it for a player who has decided to move on. I don't know who is talking this BS ( Klopp won't sign his ex players ) on this page. The man tapped up two players in two years!

19 Jun 2017 11:14:03
Rhst clause with Dortmund was probably put in place because they knew only so well of Klopp's sneaky ways.

19 Jun 2017 15:51:57
Harry, the person talking that "BS" is Klopp himself so you can take up the issue with him. Alos, I don't want Auba here cos he wanted to go to PSG as he was offerred insane wages hence, he is just looking for a big pay day. Now that the deal went to crap, his agents are now sounding off LFC as a likely destination due to the Klopp link. Anyone with a brain can figure that out. We will not ;pay the money nor his insane wages so moral of the story? Not happening and I am more than cool with that.

19 Jun 2017 07:03:18
Morning all

People are still hoping we sign VVD but with us saying we have ended interest, the club would look really stupid imo if we were to try and return for him.

Also the Aubameyang rumours are all fabrication. We have Sturridge Origi Ings Firmino Solanke and we only play one Striker, with no signs any of these will leave. Klopp has said he would not try to sign BVB players also his salary/ fee would be out of reach.

Both players not happening, let's not pretend they are.

Believable6 Unbelievable12

19 Jun 2017 09:59:44
Sturridge is injury prone, Origi is not good enough, who knows if Ings will come back the same player, definitely not next season and Solanke is not ready and untried in the Prem. A place has to be found for Firmino but he is not a 20 goal a season man.

We NEED a striker, as we will play a lot more games next season. In Champions League we will need a quality striker who can come off the bench.

It will be criminal if we don't address this issue yet again.

19 Jun 2017 10:13:52
FIrmino will not score more than 15 a season. He is not a natural striker nor he possess one. I don't know what will happen to him if we buy a world class striker.
But that's the rule of the forest.

19 Jun 2017 11:16:23
Kilometer - whether any of what you say about those strikers is true, regaendless, it is nonsensical to stockpile players in a position to cover for every hypothetical permutation.

19 Jun 2017 11:10:14
OP, are you stating an OPINION that these rumours are fabrication, or have you got information that proves this as FACT?

Anyone can profess an opinion, and often do, but if someone as insider info then that's different!

19 Jun 2017 12:29:06
Faithinworks, what I have said is true, as most people on here will agree.

We would not be stockpiling strikers because Sturridge is the only one at the level to win us a major trophy. So anyone who thinks he will play 38 league games plus Champion League games is living on Fantasy Island.

19 Jun 2017 13:32:08
Why does Firmino need to score 20+ goals playing as a central striker? As long as the team scores enough goals we will be fine. I personally think we have a much better chance of doing so if Firmino plays as our central striker.

19 Jun 2017 04:22:21
Can anyone shed some light on the Gomez situation. He played LB before he was injured and did a good job. We have Gomez, Flanno and Moreno all capable of playing in that position but not being given enough time to adapt to this team. LB doesn't win games, Mendy surely wouldn't be any better?

Believable0 Unbelievable13

19 Jun 2017 05:43:56
I have been thinking the same thing. LB is the quickest way for Gomez to be back in the first eleven (cup games, cover) . He actually was ahead of Moreno before his first injury. Paying big money for a defender is madness in my opinion. However, the manager/ coaches must see something we don't. Still, I'd rather have Gomez in there than an expensive buy.

19 Jun 2017 06:03:02
If i'm recalling it correctly but isn't Gomez right footed? I seem to remember him having to constantly cut inside when he had that run at LB. Anyway the Lad is a cb play him there.

19 Jun 2017 06:08:13
I wouldn't mind him being emergency cover at LB but it's clearly not his Long term position and he doesn't offer the width, pace or crossing ability to add something in Attack.

We clearly need better in that position so makes more sense to just get in a proper LB have Gomez competing and developing as the CB he is.

19 Jun 2017 07:43:54
Gomez lost his place to Moreno before got injured.
Moreno lost his place to Milner.
Milner is not even a proper lb.
a new lb is a must to have to me.

19 Jun 2017 08:30:19
Gomez is a CB, maybe try playing him in his rightful position and give him a chance to actually have a football career. Full back positions need upgraded and it will help in both defence and attack, more important than any attacking recruitments are. Improve the defence and the team overall will improve. New LB is priority, if required would be fine with Milner moving to RB with TAA gaining more experience, though ultimately both positions need to improve.

19 Jun 2017 08:36:37
I can't believe people would want another make shift full back going into a new season. We are utter mediocre. Aren't we? Clubs around us are buying regular first teamers while we RW busy fishing south italian see.

19 Jun 2017 09:32:41
He was quality defensively but he's all right foot and was clueless in the final third. Not a terrible option If we are desperate but he's definitely a centre back.

19 Jun 2017 13:09:33
What's so wrong in getting a decent LB in and sort out our troubled position, rather than try different players in that 'could do a job' there? Milner was not too bad, but when games came thick and fast, he started to struggle, plus he's predominately right footed, so he became quite one dimensional in attack. He's back up for me (if he's OK with that) if we get the player that would hold down that position for years to come, although some of his right footed crosses were on their mark at times!

18 Jun 2017 23:13:46
hey eds/ reds

i must say this window will be crazy was wanting to say it looks like the salah deal is ready, so grab a good left back. Im glad we didn't get vvd crazy money, but would have prefered to have signed him than the embarrasment.

Also i agree with ed01 that studge is getting back to his best and if he stays fit we don't need any more up front. trusting he will stay fit is risky, we have goals in the team but this is where im torn, MK called it right and we should look at AUB the price for the player is good value, there is resale value (whole other topic) there is atleast 20/ 30 goals in him, we would have great rotation all three st pushing each other, origi and ings would have to be sold all hypothetical

outs

sakho
moreno
origi
ings
lucas
clyne

ins

salah
LB (mendy? )
RB (try milner TAA)
Aubamayang

aubamayang.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

19 Jun 2017 01:02:33
A centre back has to be priority in my opinion.

19 Jun 2017 01:48:23
If we get all our targets we win the league.

Mignolet/ Karius
Clyne/ Milner
Mendy/ Moreno
VanDijk/ Lovren
Matip/ Klavan
Henderson/ Can
Keita/ Wijnaldun
Coutinho/ Lallana
Mane/ Sturridge
Salah/ Brandt
Firmino/ Origi.

19 Jun 2017 01:50:50
Dream window for me if it happened. Think milner should move to RB personally.

19 Jun 2017 07:56:47
What are people on about thinking we need a fancy new £70m goalscorer? Sturridge, when fully fit, will score plenty of goals (to be fair he got 3 in 7 starts this year. He also added 4 in the efl Cup) . Firmino will get goals, Coutinho will get goals, Mane will get goals. Lallana, Henderson and Wijnaldum have goals in them too. (That's ignoring Can, Origi and any any wingers or midfielders) .

An overvalued striker isn't going to help solve our defensive problems and that's what we really need help with. Last season, if we'd had an actual defense who could defend we could have been talking higher than 4th.

19 Jun 2017 08:36:37
Aubameyang ain't coming. Goal scoring is not an issue for the team, conceding them is. We don't need a £70 million striker, and I doubt we'll be getting one.

19 Jun 2017 08:39:33
If UTD pull off Ronaldo for whatever the amount ( A place which is not important for them at all ) they will dominate the league until he retires which is set for atleast 5 good years. We need Auba to survive inside top 4.
Priority or not priority. Auba is the bet striker in Europe and not only a fool would pretend or ignore you wouldn't need him!

19 Jun 2017 08:45:01
Because auba is better than all our strikers and will score more goals and improve our team. I guess that's where the thinking comes from.

19 Jun 2017 08:51:44
Manutd will not dominate the league by getting a 32 y old Ronaldo. No way. At Real he gets service from Kroos, Isco and Modric. At them it would be Pogba, Herrera and Mata. See the difference?

19 Jun 2017 09:53:06
Andy

He is the best player by some nautical mile. At Madrid he brings other players into the game. You sound bitter. He would eat the PL all himself. Will score closer to 50 league goals! How about his free kicks. He doesn't need anyone to put that inside the net.

Worlds best player mate! Worlds best player!

19 Jun 2017 12:29:11
I got shot down for saying that yesterday Sakho, by far the biggest weakness in our team.

19 Jun 2017 13:33:50
Ya you're dead right and it will be addressed this Summer and I have no doubts about that.

19 Jun 2017 14:03:28
5 years? You're kidding me. He's playing in arguably the worlds strongest team in a league which is fairly poor outside the top 5 teams. He's lost his pace, both him and mourihno will have egos that will clash. ( as they have before) they'll get one good year out of him and have another year of transition thereafter. They would be better spending that money on the likes mbappe who they can build a long gene team around. Great player but he will be asked to do a very different role should he go back to man utd. As for his free kicks he barely scores them any more ( not sure what happened but he used to be lethal)

18 Jun 2017 19:55:48
Hi ed01 or 02. Different sort of question and would appreciate your insight. Given the leaking of the vvd story in the media I was wondering how many people or at what level would know information regarding transfers. The players are they in the know. Sports science or admin or is it from higher up that information gets leaked. And if so I presume the club be unhappy about this or do they freely leak certain stuff to keep fans onside. The echo from months back seemed to know all our first choice targets. I saw vvd Sarah and Keita mentioned that didn't feature on sharkapods. Now obviously they could be guessing but coincidence. You both have your sources so you obviously know what goes on. Not wanting to know your sources are but interested in the level of knowledge that's out there. Also will the club be spending all there time working on the salah deal at present or would other negotiations be going on with other clubs for other targets.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained about Keita. Salah was not first choice and van Dijk was a surprise given what Klopp had previously said. Discussions with clubs go on all of the time. Agents are generally open to discussing players with people they know, particularly if you buy them a drink.}

19 Jun 2017 17:40:41
Fancy a drink ed002? 😍.
