Eds just a thought about Andy Carroll strikers thrive on confidence and after he scored in the derby he was then dropped for United. Which i do understand as it was a very tactical game.

But i believe that players now need to adapt to the squad game. I think that Andy Caroll is a top class striker but maybe just needs to get a role of games.

Mighty reds

Agreed. Him & Suarez have to play together to gel. Once it clicks they will be awesome. Also need Downing (left) and whoever plays RM (I would play Stevie there) to start getting used to Carroll's positioning for crosses and vice versa. It takes time but all the ingredients are there.

Kelly or Johnson?... its an interesting question personaly I feel that you can't kick Kelly out the team as he's been playing but yet Johnson adds such a greater attackive threat.

Obviously then you put Johnson on RW meaning a
Johnson-Gerrard-lucas-Downing.

thats how I would play it -McMenemy

Lucas ahead of Adam an Hendo? Not me

MANCHESTER United are top of the league again – as Britain's most hated club.

The 19-time champions pulled in more almost a third of the total vote in a survey of fans.

They were only fourth until Sir Alex started his one man campaign of humourless jokes !

The mighty MUFC beats you lot again.... What was you in the survey?? 5th.... HERBIE(MUFC)

I am surprised it wasn't city followed by Chelsea. It takes some doing to be more hated than the 2 teams who are destroying the game.

Hey guys, for the norwich game i was thinking maybe we could go for a 4-3-3 formation:

Reina
Kelly/Johnson Skrtel/Agger Carra Enrique
Hendo Gerrard Adam
Suarez Carroll Downing

Your thoughts?

Ghandi Floss

Dont give up your day job.

I'd pick the same players, but call it ostensibly a 4-4-2 so that Suarez isn't pushed too wide

Red Ollie

4-3-3 is essentially 4-5-1 with the players we have (and style). We dont play like Chelsea with 3 pacy CF's upfront. 4-4-2 at home is best I reckon.

do you think martin olsson or junior hoilett would be good wingers to look at
both have played well recently and have caught the eye of some big teams like newcastle and spurs

Yh theyre very pretty, not as good to look at as Break Shea though hes really pretty i wonder where he gets his hair done.

Andy Polo? Have any of the eds heard of him or seen him play? Thanks..

Cease {Ed001's Note - heard of, but not seen him play, Peruvian lad isn't he?}

Watched a video of him at youtube. he looks quite amazing, there. he can really turn out in to a fantastic striker. Hope, we'd sign him and would move through the right channels for his development. he's very good indeed. hope, you'll have a look at him, too. YNWA

Lets settle back and look forward to the Champions League games tonight. Especially looking forward to watching Liver...., ooops, sorry, after all this time you would think I would remember. I mean Chelsea and Arsenal represent the EPL.

Sir Alex x

Lol sir alex you should be a comedian
but remember this 5 times
how many times have you won it?
exactly
i guess this is were you say 19 but to be honest i don't care becose you cheat your way to it most of the time

What do you mean Sir Alex ?
Our reserve team are beating Genk 3 - 0 at the minute.
The Real KB

Well we thought we'd let the other british teams have a chance considering they haven't won it 5 times between them. Yes 5 times!

By the way sir alex.charlie adam didn't dive if you watch the reply and watch match of the day you will see this.there was slight contact so he had the right to go down.pot kettle black isn't it.when you watch united don't you see the likes of nani diving evra diving and rooney well being rooney (baldy idiot) No wonder your the most hated team becose your all a load of bull****ers

Alex - you do realise that United will not win the Champions League this don't you? There are at least four teams who are far superior to your team. Rather than trying to make snide digs on this site I would be questioning why my manager didn't strengthen an extremely weak mid-field. Do you think Jones will be man-marking Gareth Barry this weekend?

And just in case you still have a faint hope of winning the Champions League let me give you this stat - Paulo Maldini has won the champions league five times in his career compared to your three in your entire history, that's how bad you are in Europe.

JRG

Jrg
You are right there are probably at least 4 teams that are better than United-but how many are there better than Liverpool(considering Liverpool could't manage to qualify for Europe).

I don't understand how you can comment on how bad United are in europe when Liverpool havn't even managed to challenge in their own domestic league for 20 odd years

Yes Liverpool have got a good history in
europe but they have been piss poor in the premiership.

I reckon United will win the champions league and premiership again a long time before Liverpool will because your biggest problem is catching you up very quickly .......Gerard retiring -without him you realy are f__ked!

Marky Mark

Marky Mark ha just like ye singing absolute rubbish . K96 .

I believe we finished runner up buy 2 points only 2 or 3 seasons ago, I'd call that a solid challenge for the title.

Aussie red

Marky Mark - The reason I was talking about United's abysmal record in Europe was because Alex made a cheap dig at the fact Liverpool are not in it this year. If he had made a comment about the Premier League then fair enough. The fact is United were no-where near good enough last year and haven't improved this year (unless you think Jones was the difference between you and Barcelona?) whereas other teams have caught up to United and probably passed you. Everyone criticises Wenger for his blindness to Arsenal's centre-back requirement but surely Ferguson has the same problem with United's midfield? Unfortunately for you guy's your owners are not prepared to pay the wages for a top midfielder that you desperately require as it would mean less profit for them.

By the way - under Kenny's management we had the second or third best record in the Premier League last year without Gerrard in our team so to say without him we are f**ked is wrong.

Team vs Norwich

Reina

Kelly/Johnson Skrtel/Agger Carragher Enrique

Kuyt Gerrard Adam Downing

Suarez Carroll

Subs: Hansen, Kelly/Johnson, Agger/Skrtel, Henderson, Maxi, Spearing, Bellamy

That's thirteen mate

Hendo for Kuyt please. Then good team.

Better team. I'd like to fit Hendo in there, too. But i think gerrard and adam ar better in the centre. and Hendo is not very good at wings. I'd like him to get in, from the bench in 2nd half. Hope, Hendo can keep on a good run and become our top lad. Andy, please don't repeat rangers display, there. We know, what you can do. Go in there and win us. YNWA

Agree, Kuyt slows down all the play on the right and repeatedly looses the ball. Even though he runs a lot he is too slow to actually affect play.

My team for the norwich game.

Reina

Kelly Carra Agger Enrique

Hendo Gerrard Adam Downing

Suarez Carroll

Subs.
Doni
Skrtel
Johnson
Bellamy
Aurelio
Kuyt
Spearing

If big andy does start, this-n the next 2 games- could see him net a hatful.

But i'd be happy with a solitary norwich own-goal, as long as we get the 3 points.

And in an ideal world, the manc derby ends in a draw w de gea letting in a injury time nani own goal that leaves nani in tears. Again.

And of cos, the game wouldn't be complete w/o evra complaining about aguero abusing him in some way or other. Post match, as an after-thought, of cos.:-)

Hi Ed's Just wondering what the Latest on the Stadium is,
Keep up the Good Work !!

Bobby11 {Ed001's Note - there is no latest, people are just making assumptions, but nothing is actually known one way or the other yet. FSG are making sure to keep their options open.}

Thanks Edd, I Always Appreciate your Speedy replies and answers !

19 Oct 2011 17:44:54
Ed maybe you can answer this for me as we all know Andy Carrol is sadly not playing his best for LFC, Me and my dad were talking about Carrol and my dad said he was a really good striker for newcastle but he is playing poorly for us because he is being played differently...Can you explain to me what my pops is on about

CONFUSED {Ed009's Note - We play pass and move football where he is just a cog in our wheel; at Newcastle he was the centre of their entire game, the fulcrum which they relied upon. That meant they played entirely to his game. I imagine that is what your pops meant.}

Cheers Ed you are as always a star

NOT CONFUSED ANYMORE ;)

19 Oct 2011 17:32:43
Moussa Sissoko, Adam Johnson and a center back next summer would be great business!

Corkpoolred

Christian eriksen, I jst want to see him here. He's a top lad. :)

A. Johnson & D. Hoilett for me. Not sure we need another CM at the moment and only a CB when Carra is booted. If A. Johnson not available I would go for A. Griezmann or M. Reus.

I think moussa might be a better dm than lucas. which is why we need him. (this is if we are in CL next season)

I'd go with this line up vs Norwich:

Reina

Kelly Carragher Agger Enrique

Gerrard
Henderson Adam

Downing Bellamy
Suarez

This is the ugliest first 11 ever to play football.
However, it has all the elements important to Liverpool's synchronised diving team. Gerrard, Adam, Downing, Bellamy and Suarez all have the ability to fall over even though they haven't been touched.
You have missed out the most important person for Liverpool to win, that being the Anfield referee. You cannot win without the most important part of any Liverpool "victory". We all know the rules.

Sir Alex x

And united need old baldy to give you every decision known to man

We may be ugly Sir Alex, but we've got our own teeth and hair.
The Real KB

Bitter because man uniteds world champion diver jumped ship, and his replacement nani is just a bad jacko lookalike who can't dive after carra took a piece of his leg home.
While fergies many tumbles have nothing to do with Liverpool unless he has resorted to drinking llambrini lol
MIKEY

Sir Alex x I used to find you quite amusing and found your banter half decent, but now I just find you annoying and irritating and dont think you have anything better to do. You really are a boring old plonker mate!

INDIAN SCOUSER {Ed009's Note - Yes. You would need to get your coaching badges first, then likely start off at a very low club, before building yourself up, provided you had the ability for it. It would take a long time and a lot of hard work but fortunately you have age on your side.}

Thanks ed, your words make me want to com to the uk
INDIAN SCOUSER {Ed001's Note - Scotland is the place to get your coaching badges, that is why so many of the top pros go there.}

OMG, that sounds interesting. i would like to take those lessons too. but I'm moving to Australia in search of pro soccer. I have played in Sunday leagues, too. I'd never call it a day. Hope, one day I'd be playing some pro soccer. YNWA

Hello one and all!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been extremely busy, but rest assured I check the site every day to keep up to date with all things Liverpool and all things LFC fans! :)
Anyway, onto the business,
Craig Bellamy needs some game time. So far he has done nothing but impress but King Kenny doesn't play him, and in all honesty I was really suprised at the fact Carroll was dropped against Utd, because he'd scored the week before in the Merseyside Derby, and nothing could have boosted his confidence more than that! Apart from maybe... scoring against Utd?
However, I have full faith in the King, and I have to say I'm still a big fan of Henderson, he came off of the bench against Utd and really impressed me, I agree he should have done better with the header but, how many great chances has Suarez had the past few weeks and he's not converted? It's funny how not many people seem to get on Suarez's back, but have no find the most pedantic faults with every aspect of Henderson. Lay off of him, and be patient.

Thanks all,
Hooch.

Agaree with you there the utd game was tailor maid for him carrol and bellemy masterstroke by kenny to bring on henderson great game carrol would of caused havoc with de gea

I'm not too sure why people dismiss a move for Adam Johnson saying City won't deal with us as we are considered rivals, surely the fact they let Adebayor go to Spurs on loan proves if Mancini doesn't want a player he's not bothered what happens to them, after all Tottenham did finished above us last year so should also be consider their rivals. I only mention Johnson because apparently he was taken off before halftime in last nights game and was less than amused, i remember reading one of the ed's saying Mancini doesn't want him, so maybe Johnson would take a move to Liverpool if the right price can be agreed.

always a red

If we finish in top 4 then they will be happy to let him go to spurs

The lad looks a good player but surplus to requirements or not City would be looking for a big fee because we would not be the only club interested and I don't think we would pay a massive fee for him plus I'm not even sure if he's a player were looking at. So it's a deal which looks a million miles away in my opinion so I would forget about it

Waro

I think it could happen, but I don't think it will be as simple as some people seem to think. For one thing, City do play Johnson, which they just weren't doing with Adebayor. He won't be as unhappy as Adebayor was sitting on the bench because he is not yet in his prime, and City are in 4 big competitions this season, so he's still guaranteed some games. It's not the same as with Adebayor. I do think he's a top player, but I think Mancini can see that as well - hence him playing in the last 2 PL games

now that lucas is out for the norwich game we should finally see the team without him in it also i hope he is kept out for a while he's way to negitive for a team aiming to be in the top 3
let gerrard boss the middle adam send pass's it will give the others more freedom (lucas sat back in the utd match second half)id say a comfortable win should back up these fact's
DANNYBHOY

A ridiculous comment. I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but how can you even begin to question Lucas's contribution to the team over the last 18 months.

Adzii

I agree, Lucas is slow and lazy, and by far a ridiculous statement. Pass and move will work better now and im sure Lucas will find it hard to get back into the team.
JayB

You really have no idea do ya! You're an idiot
LeeWils

Well i guess this is why i love this site so much, opinions are great but i just cant see how you could even put the words slow and lazy in the same bracket as Lucas...

Adzii

Lucas bashing, glad yer not the manager is all I can say!! (and people say LFC supporters are knowledgeable! I wonder alot of the time)

Ska-oop

WHY because the above poster didn't agree with you Britains number one football expert, everyone is entitled to an opinion on a player even a clueless clown such as yourself.

Waro

Any 'supporter' of a club who can openly express the wish that any player might be out of the team through injury, or who would wish for that injury to be prolonged, is a disgrace.

Red Owl

Did you just say that Gerrard would be a better player in the pass and move system? I love our captain, but Lucas is the pendulum that keeps the ball, and he rarely loses it. I'm sure nearly most teams in the world wouldn't mind having him in the team now, especially only at 24/25.

McSnuggles

Lucas is a top player, but there is truth to the statement that we might be better off leaving him out of some home games so the whole midfield will attack fluidly. I'd like to see us play Henderson, Gerrard, Adam and Downing against Norwich and tear them apart

Red Ollie

Where did he even mention injury

He didnt.

A pendulem ha ha thats so funny, look i'm a liverpool fan just like most on here i just don't think lucas's style is effective enough @ the very top (and i agree he has been better of late )i don't see the man taking control of game's like other's in his position can and do, didi hamman was a player of much more quality and gary mc allister to name a few
DANNYBHOY

Agree Danny. Many still have the rose glasses on with Lucas. He is avg at best.

In answer to those asking whether or not the original poster mentioned injury, the following quote seems to make that implication:

i hope he is kept out for a while he's way to negitive for a team aiming to be in the top 3ť.

The English is so poor, however, that I doubt even the original poster knows what he meant.

Red Owl

Ed,
Do you know the terms of reference for the current Hillsborough Independant Panel ?
To what extent will it deal with the events after the disaster, specifically the press (The Sun) coverage ?
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - Sorry, but I received abuse for making the slightest comment so I am not prepared to explain what we have available at present. I suggest a search using the correct spelling of "independent" and perhaps include "qub" in the search should give you the minimum TORs which is what you are looking for. Everything else I have is back in England in any case right now.}

Got it ed002, thanks.
Pity that you've had abuse over this. Cheers.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - I thought so too. I will be back in England tomorrow and I will see if there is anything else I can share - but I have to think very carefully about it.}

Who the hell does Oliver Popplewell think he is?

Scouse Pride {Ed001's Note - he is well known to be a complete ****, the man is a joke who makes a lot of money out of being an **** and causing trouble.}

Oliver Popplewell has a absolute cheek. Ignore his comments, they arent even worth a argument over.

Adzii

Never heard of him, what has he done, or said?

He chaired the report into the Bradford City fire. He's been mouthing off comparing the "quiet dignity" of the Bradford bereaved to the Hillsborough families who "won't let go". Terrible. The timing, the content, the sentiments. it makes you wonder, some of these so-called top people.
The Real KB

Maybe Popplewell's quiet dignity garbage is because he's being paid off by the guys who originally briefed The Sun- maybe they just want to have a politician as a mouthpiece somewhere in the public arena- and no respected politician would endorse his views for a second.

I wonder if Mr Popplewell would be feeling quietly dignified, if it was HIS family members whose lives were taken by the tragedy, and were then insulted by The Sun?

Apparently the reason for the friendly at Rangers last night was to raise income for Rangers due to them not being involved in Europe, is this true? If so is it worth the risk of our players getting injured for this meaningless match?

It was very convenient for both sides, with returning and fringe players getting a run out. you cant not play any extra games for fear of injury. Man up!

Went to the Real Madrid game last night at the Bernabeu. Have to say Lyon were absolutely pants and it should of been at least 10 to Real Madrid even though they did not play particularly well. This is comments for players that have been commented on here a number of times:

Xavi Alonso: he was fantastic last night. Basically he was the quarterback for the team. Everything went through him. His passing was as fantastic as usual. Only thing i would say is that if we still had him he would not have won that freekick against Man Utd on Saturday assuming that he would have been on instead of Adam. For all his ability he was not a midfielder that broke forward. It is one thing I have been happy about Charlie Adam is that he seems to be willing to make these midfield breaks like Gerrard used to do.

Aly Cissokho: glad we bought Jose Enrique. This guy was pants. He was all over the place last night. No discipline! Poor attitude, lazy as he lost the ball so many times and failed to chase back.

Michel Bastos: a couple of nice touches but this boy is not strong enough to play left back. As a winger he was really slow. Arbeloa caught him up time and time again even with a head start. One good cross for disallowed goal but the rest and all the set palys hit the wall or first defender.

Dejan Lovren: about only Lyon player to play well but looked to be carrying a lot of extra weight. Not very quick but was not helped by the poor play of Cissokho.

I think we made good decisions not to buy these guys.

Orrin

Not being funny mate, but thats just one game.
No point in judging them on that, or we would probably have a frontline of Andy Johnson and Leon Best by now.

Stu. JFT96

I agree...to all the points...but..how on earth u compared charlie adam to xabi alonso...u nuts????
If u wanna know Hoe alonso plays..pls watch the all the liverpool games in season 2008-2009....he is by far the best midfileder in the world...only can be compared to gerrard and xavi...
pls use some brains..i would buy him anytime..if he wishes to come to melwood...

Snjeider, Sweinstieger, Essien, Fabregas, Iniesta.....there are others equally as effective in their own way.

Xavi Alonso didn't have to make breaks for us - he scored from the half-way line !
The Real KB

How long did it take Alonso to start playing well? I remember it being quite a few games and he was tosh initially.

How come no one knows his name is actually xabi?

I've got to go now, but this is your thought of the day:

"Appreciate your past, but don't live in it.
If you think positive thoughts, I am sure Liverpool might just avoid relegation, and always may the best team win".

Don't forget, I am here to cheer you up.

I love you all, and peace be with you.

Up the Canaries!

Sir Alex x

Thats the kind of 'banter' I dont mind. funny and not offensive.
Dara D

Must be time for your meds then slur? Have your computer rights been revoked?

Time for your afternoon nap already Alex? Sleep tight.

We will of course stay positive but we will not underestimate Norwich especially after they outplayed United a couple of weeks ago. Watching that game it was really nice to see the anti-Glazer fans wearing their yellow and green shirts in full voice. They easily out-sung the other supporters who were wearing the red shirts, good on them I say.

You keep positive too mate - try and keep telling yourself that City are probably not as good as everyone makes out and that if you try hard, and practise that new defensive formation you have working on you might even get a draw against them.

JRG

Think Man Utd have been found out now , again , and man city will beat them in their own back yard , the whole football world will be looking at this result , the best united can hope for is another draw . Redforever

All,

You have probably noticed some of the posts 'Sir Alex x' has posted of late. Mainly about Liverpool not being in Europe etc.. I find it totally baffling that this is coming from a child who is under strict orders to be in bed at 8.30pm for school the next day. And bless his cottons, he even misses the pre match warm up due to English revision for his year 6 SATS exams. Im sure fellow posters will join me in congratulating him on his grammar, and am sure you will do perfectly fine for the year ahead. Thats if you concentrated more on your studys and not on posting Sh*t on a Liverpool site

Great post, then you dumped it when spelling studies..studys. You get the irony when you talk about childrens education, don't you?

10 out of 10 Sir Alex x! I'm sure again, you will all join me in congratulating Sir Alex x on his Grammar and correction of Grammar... Shame your Knowledge of football cant be as good as your grammar.. And why are you on a Liverpool page anyway, most united fans avoid this page and wouldnt even warrant to click on the site let alone continually post on it?

P.S how are you with Maths? I still make it 5 European cups?

Time to decide who will be the regular starter at RB, with both fit- Johnson or Kelly?

Its close, but I'd go for Johnson- bit better ball control, bit better crosser of the ball (Kellys final ball isn't quite as consistent I reckon), links well with Kuyt, and so more attacking threat to stretch teams out wide on both flanks, and create attacking space.

The Right side may have Kelly at Right Back and Johnson Right of midfield, Kuyt is slow and has a bad touch. With Dowining and Enrique on the left, there will be better balance and a lot more pace, which suits the Pass and Move idea!

Johnson moves well in the attack, but he never is a good defender. kelly for me, he has all the qualities to become a top quality Rb, and is performing very well since employed there.

Johnson can beat his man and score, Kelly doesnt so Johnson for me is better against teams that park the bus and Kelly against the top 6 teams that can cause damage.

For gods sake leave the Johnson to right midfiled thing go, noway near good enough to play there. Kelly is a far better defender and should play when fit.

I think it might depend on who we are playing at the time, as Kenny keeps saying it's about the squad, but if a gun was put to my head, I would go for Glen. I think we need more creativity in front of goal and Glen gives us more than Kelly. Tbh, I wouldn't have minded seeing Glen as a right winger against Rangers, just to try him in that position, although think I would prefer him at RB! It would prove it one way or the other. I think more goals would come, than given away, with Glen being at FB.

Just listened to Kennys post match comments. As usual kenny doesnt even attempt to hide his dissapointments. As he said, it was a good run out for players who've been injured (johnson, agger and aurelio), but he was not happy that the players who should be pushing for first team places took their opportunities. These are the games when he expects those players to make a statement, and lets be honest they didn't. He was not happy and Id expect to see a few more loan signings leaving soon, Wilson will almost certainly be amongst them. I can only imagine the effort I would be putting in to to try and catch the Kings eye, but alas at 62 I doubt he'd pick me anyway!

Please don't give up hope of being picked for Liverpool at 62.
Don't forget, King Kenny bought Carroll for 35m, and henderson for 20m, so anything is possible mate. Keep the faith, and keep your boots handy as you are probably good enough!

Chopman {Ed002's Note - You are not going to come to this site and type such foul abuse. There are specialist sites which no doubt allow you to get your kicks in such ways.}

Suppose your right, after all Fergies still playing Giggs and he must be as old as me. By the way both Carroll and Henderson will come good, both young guns and great players and in Kenny I trust

Tel1949

To Ed 002, Ive no idea what chopman said nor do I wish to know, but as usual your response to idiots like chopman is 'par excellance'. How do these people get brought up with so much hatred and vile ...so sad. This is a wonderful site and thank you personally for keeping it just so..

Tel 1949 {Ed001's Note - she does do a great job, I have to say.}

Tel 1949

Ahhhh Giggsy, a record 12 PL winners medals, thanks for reminding me.

I also trust Kenny!
He buys a big, lumbering old style British centre forward, with limited technical quality, (you must remember, a Joe Jordan 1970's style CF), but this type of player is a relic of the past. No top european club is looking for "a Carroll" in modern day football.
Your education begins!

Sir Alex x

Why are you on this site ? This is a Liverpool site, if you have any sensible comments to add to our discussions then I have no problems with that. ps what do you know about a top european club ?....you mean like LFC with 5 Euro cups, or Real Madrid or Barcelona. Get a grip lad, youve only got to look at Fergies 4 6 0 formation to realise that he knows LFc are on the way back. the look on Fergies face when Kenny played at MUFC said it all for me...absolute FEAR !

tel 1949

Brilliant tel 1949, did you also notice that formation they did seemed a bit worried, but hey theres always the next fixture we can dominate again! Mr.Jones

I am getting more & more frustrated with this Big Andy, but I will try to keep it calm & give the lad sometime but not for too long. If he cant score at least 12-15 goals by the end of the season time find a buyer for him.

Chopman

I just hope, he(Carroll) would do some good for us. he is a very big concern. without Suarez, we're struggling a bit too much. Andy will have to step up. And Bellamy has lost himself as a striker. He is a very useful winger. Hope, Suarez is proved innocent, because, we know he's been the main player for us. I believe, he is not involved and would be innocent. We need him to get the results, as the things stands, carroll is making me feel bad. hope, he'd do something very good enough, for us. YNWA

It's muppets like you who frustrate me.

superfan

There was priase after the league game against Man Utd and people are now annoyed we lost a friendly against Rangers

Perspective anyone?

Tonight liverpoll tv 6:30

Hope, carroll would prove to be good. he's not working well enough. Must say, yesterday performance was very very poor. i'd pick Doni, for MOM. He was the only player, who played well yesterday. Hope, we are not gonna repeat this kind of performance for the rest of the season. YNWA

Hi eds guys/gals what is your opinion of blackburns player martin olsson ,he seems pretty good to me. (godin)

He ain't any good. Only player I like at blackburn is Hoillet. and if any other who are good than might be Samba and Formica.

I like him. Brought him up a while back and was shot down and accused of motd fever. Hoilett is excellent though.

my shopping list for the coming transfer window
>CB - Vertonghen/cahill/hummels
>RB/LB - cissokho
>CM - xabi alonso/kagawa
LM - Johnson
RM - navas
ST - Damiao/higuain/podolski

Full squad then? mr carroll will come good trust me hes a young lad with amps of talent you do remember how he humliated our defense last year dont you?
jayblair89

No offence but aly cissokho is average at best, way over-rated and certainly would not be ahead of enrique and kelly/johnson imho

Cahill is similar to above- Might get starting tho but would prefer a higher quality CB at his price or letting youth get there chance.

Podolski is terrible unless playing for germany, must be a mental thing, too much effort imo

For anyone interested:

**2011/12 season**

Points after 8 games = 14

**2010/11 season**

Points after 8 games - 6
Points in corresponding fixtures = 8

For a team full of new players who are still gelling to some extent, we are doing pretty well. If we can keep pace with the Manc clubs now, we should be able to make a good push after Christmas for the top 4 positions. No European footie etc - we will only have ourselves to blame if we don't make it.

ed are we still interested in wilfred zaha and the 2 crewe players cant remember their names.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - we are still monitoring them and it is 3 Crewe players, all England youth internationals - Nick Powell (probably the best of the 3), Max Clayton and Ben Garratt. We are keeping a close close eye on them, easy to do with Powell as he is getting lots of first team footie this season apparently.}

I'm a big fan of clayton. He really is great lad. I haven't been looking at others. I would definitely look at them, now. While I m not too sure about Zaha. he is a good lad but not a stand out for me. but saying that I have only seen him once and may be he wasn't having a good day, that day. YNWA

I read a while back that Crewe were making a complaint to the FA in regards to liverpool and a few crewe players. Ed do you know anything about it? I was under the impression that Dario wasn't to impressed with Liverpool. Have we blew our chances with Crewe or was it just paper talk?
TIZER RED {Ed001's Note - paper talk, Gradi never named the club involved, it was just assumed to be Liverpool because they had made an offer for Max Clayton (not to be confused with his older brother Harry, who is not in the same class as a player) but no complaint was made to the FA about Liverpool.}

Does anyone else think that Downing just needs to get that first goal for us, before he really takes off? He just looks so desperate to open up his tally and sure that once he does, his quality will shine through!

Totally agree with this him and Young make watching England less agonizing
