24hrs after the debacle and having time to reflect, I've got a sneaky feeling that my thoughts in my post last week re carroll are sadly going to come true.

What I said wad that I hope he comes good, let's get behind him etc. BUT my preference in that position, out of what we have, would always be kuyt due to his ability to drop off, link play up and ALWAYS give 100%, something which carroll only did on point three and even then it was more 75%.
Furthermore I would not play that
type of player/tactics in the first place full stop. 4-4-2 was never the right option at WHL, I said that last week.
Pack the midfield (4-1-4-1/ 4-2-3-1) and have fast pacey guys to break on them. With AC in the team everything becomes lumbersome (as he is) and that, coupled with bad judgement from players and the manager lead to our downfall.

Make no mistake, the King fudged it big style yesterday, and he knows it.
For me it was simple, lucas in front of back 4, Hendo Adam in front of him, downing left, kuyt right Suarez up top. Skrtel got skinned cause ge had no protection, kuyt would have offered that. Kuyt Suarez and downers would have really tested them. With maxi and bellers as back-up. AC is trying, can't fault that but I just can't see him fitting in. Panic buy? Not sure. But I think they thought he'd be better than he is.
On the raul point fellas, I was really saddened when he moved on, no disrespect but who else ex luis offers that kind of creativity?
The way forward is simple..to play pass n move we must use 3 from Bellamy downing suarez kuyt every
game. AC? Jury's still out...

As for rafa talk, we gotta admit he would have done alot better with these owners behind him and I do miss him. His tactical awareness was amazing, far better than kk, but talk of Kk moving on is ridiculous. one game, He made a bad call, he knows it. It won't happen again.
A good performave against Brighton is needed to get sun out of the system..COME ON LADS! YNWA

I think everyone should stop moaning about Andy Carroll. He is a good player, he's just in the wrong league. He would be outstanding in league 2!

Sir Alex x

Dont necisarally agree with all of it but well said. ynwa

League 2, Alex? That's a bit harsh there's some quality in League 2 i.e ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? etc, etc, etc...show some respect mate.

were lfc better than real madrid when they beat them 4-1 or man utd. 4-1 or barca 2-1 or ac milan in ataturk?? No, as much as we'd like to think we were , we were'nt, we were just were better on the day. and when you're having a bad one , lots of goals can go in. lets just take stock, imagine what spurs fans were saying/thinking after the hammering from city. No point in being optamistic for the sake of it, but to make rash judgements on one bad (very bad) game is premature.

Dara D

Liking it Dara ...

dd

True. However, we have no distractions (ie. CL or Europa) and players were supposedly revved up after disappointing loss to Stoke. I would accept a poor game, but it was against the main rivals for top 4 spot, and they really showed that Liverpool are not in their class right now. Was it just the one game? If you look at our recent record against Tottenham, it was clearly not just this game.

I think most fans were really down after the game, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If we had just continually cheer for team and not demand more we'd still be owned by Hicks and Gillett.

But new players are bedding in, this will take time

here I was waxing a lyrical doom and gloom about players being money grabbing impatient mercenaries ! I stand corrected. I was wrong. It seems that the majority of our fans seem to be impatient and greedy ! I can't believe that some so called fans are calling for Dalglish's head and asking for Rafa to come back ! Is that some sort of sick joke ? Let's just go and get Steve Morgan back whilst we remember the good old days ! One bad day at the office...we all have those don't we ? Get some perspective fairweather fans and have some faith. Kenny will get his mojo back let's just all get behind him... Tobiwan YNWA

I don't think its time to axe Kenny, however, it must be pointed out that he will be judged (and should be judged) as would any manager in football. I think the owners partly went with Kenny because he was hugely popular with fans, and gave the team its feeling of pride again. I think there are many questions to be asked going forward. Is he the man to lead us back to glory? Die hard fans will ofcourse kneejerk their response, but we have to be honest and critical. He has been retired for 20 years! Sure he still watches every game....we all do. That does not mean he has the right tactics to lead the team to CL and beyond. I hope he does, but a level of scrutiny is necessary. All the "YNWA" and "King Kenny" stuff is wonderful cheerleading, but it if it doesn't translate into significant improvement upon last year, then I suspect our beloved King will suffer the same fate as Hodgson. The owners have been very patient and generous. But they are businessmen, and will be closely watching their investment.

Why are we like dis playin. when will we sign the REAL players like Ronaldo, Agwero and Roony? Henderson is like I dont now what, dics or sumthin. Carol is big and strong so what? PSG are tellin lies, they dont have the money they are sayin they are havin, otherwise why Downing and not Mater? These are qusetions. When will they give the ansers, next june? I wont be waitin all nite for them to pull there fingers out of a pie full of make-beleve.

Red One.

Wtf ha
ozred

Is this a TV comedy sketch?

dd

Dear Red One, sorry fella but the drugs aren't working for you or you are over-medicated. PSG aren't lying because a consortium of Arabs with a s**tload of cash HAVE bought them over. The French club are rolling in it - that's why they were able to buy Pastore over Chavski and Citeh. However what this has to do with us or Downing is completely mystifying. It is a little late for primary school kids to be still up and peddling badly written tripe though.

I'm sorry was this post a joke? i apologize if it was meant sarcastically but unfortunately too many people on this site have said exactly them things but for the most part in better English. Actually I've just realized as I was writing to point out the many errors in this post that no true Liverpool fan would mix Paris Saint Germain up with Fenway Sports Group xD

Can anybody translate this post

Yeah but no but yeah but no

I was in a bad mood reading p**s-poor comments from Liverpool 'fans'. It was a complete joke post designed to let off steam. Sorry if it caused offence anyone.

Oil barons should be sharing the profits with its own people rather than giving several individuals £250,000 a week to play football. If ever LFC became a squad of mercenaries like City then sod it I would turn my back & walk away.

dd
=================================
Dont post about things you are clueless about, I am from Qatar and there are no oil barons there nor Abu Dhabi for that matter, the oil wealth is shared amongst the people (more for some than others maybe -- but thats everywhere).
City is an investment for the Abu Dhabi prince which is already returning profits back in Abu Dhabi and parts of manchester, the publicity generated by the club is very very rewarding.
Roy

Roy,
Yr noble Quatari princes are ruining our national game and are threatening to do so with the wider European one. If they wanted to be so generous to their own people, spend their billions directly in Quatar. Or, if they'd like to benefit the people of Manchester, build a couple of NHS hospitals. Instead of wasting it on tosspots like Adebayor & Tevez.
The Real KB

Check out the Labour relation rights in Qatar. They have been accused of modern day slavery! Bahrain is also held up as a great example of pro western arab state but it took Saudi troops to come in and crush an uprising. Roy you are the one with a superficial understanding of the situation. Any country with a Royal dynasty can have zero pride as it is not a real nation at all! I would love wealthier owners at Liverpool but not at the expense of human rights.

Dont Buy the Sun

Roy

It is the principle of one individual receiving £250,000 a week I wish to focus on. Apologies for my blanket generalisation but I hope you get my jist. Ask yourself this: Would you sleep better if the Prince had spent his City money on Hospitals, Schools, Cancer research & so on>? There is big money in football granted, but then there is ludicrous & morally unacceptable. There has to be a line.

dd

To be fair to the City owners Real KB mate. They are redeveloping and regenerating the area around the ETIHAD Stadium, to the tune of 1 billion. They are spending massive money on players and wages but they are putting somthing back into the community. I told the Mancs, the City owners are putting money into Manchester, their owners are taking money from Manchester.

Blair Mayne YNWA

They execute teenagers and mentally unstable people in Texas mate, does that make our owners bad people?

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - our owners aren't the ones who decide the laws in Texas though Blair.}

G.A.G.U.S

Do us a favour and p*** off back to the banter page who's team have a statue of a former Liverpool captain outside the ground.

You make reference to Coates! Chelsea should have done a number on your boys yesterday, it should've been 3-7. Jones's defencive nouse is diabolical and he will get exposed sooner or later. An attack minded centre half doesn't necessary translate as a good centre half. Furthermore, I'd rather have a down to earth South American tough tackler in Coates than a daft haircut ponce who upon every assist creates a distance between himself and the goal scorer at the side of the pitch and waits for his fellow team mates to embrace him whilst wearing a daft 'whats going on here' expression on his potatoe head long face mush.

You've had a good start but you'll get found out. You were lucky on sunday against an average Chelsea team.

Ozone

You don't know much about football do you?

G.A.G.U.S

We LFC supporters know what footie really is. Unlike 99% of your supporters who have just jumped on the wagon. We would run circles round you muppets.

Haha, nice one ozone - all you can pick out to say about Jones in the defense of your rubbish centre backs is that Utd's player has a rubbish way of celebrating 'HIS ASSIST' you really are a chump.

and it all starts up hes sh-t hes crap kk no good when are people going face up to it we are work in progress its going to take time i for one think we have a better team and team spirt than this time last year yes we are going to loss matches but u learn from your mistakes and for me we will finish in the top 4 and i for one will always love liverpool win loss or draw so wise up open your eyes we soon be back where we belong
liverpool till i die

Total disrespect for Kenny, a legend in his own right, irrefutably the greatest player who has worn the red shirt. It's disgraceful.

Let us not beat around the bush and be sentitmental. Let us face the facts. Tottenham brought LFC on its knees yesterday and we were all feeling the pain.

Look guys I dont want to start an arguement here but Dalglish has bought un-wisely since he arrived at the helm. Spent over 100 million and not one WORLD CLASS player other than Suarez.

I am all in for bringing back Rafa and make Dalglish for assistant manager of LFC. Rafa's problem here was he didn't have the funds to buy quality players. Tactically Rafa is much wiser than Dalglish. We hate to admit it but we know it. Honestly what was Daglish thinking about... playing Skrtel on Bale.

Only if these Americans came in sooner for LFC to support Rafa... but fate is fate. Some buys from Dalglish which I can honestly say no one is pleased with.

1) Carroll-35 mill- with every game this lad plays it is looking more and more like a panic buy. I honestly dont know how he earnt that 35 mill price tag. Much better option would have been Cavani. Ten times the player Carroll is and is more suited to our style of play. We still need that quality striker that we lack. Would have been deadly with Suarez another fellow Uruguyan.

2) Henderson-20 mill- This player might have lots of potential but honestly 20 mill? A much better option would have been Ibrahim Afellay. Similar athletic build. Plays in the same positions as Henderson but a far better player. Also fits the bill for FSG as he is young.

I agree i was a bit concerned about the signings we have made. Cavani woud have been excellent but i understand that kenny wants to bring an identity back to liverpool. Being 17 i wasnt alive for the glory days and i just want to see some big ''marquee'' signings ie Cavani,Hazard,Lavezzi players like that

Afellay can't shine in the best team in the world never mind ares in the middle of jan , we need prop a quality to go with what we already have , if indeed we want to fill a 65,000seater stadium , give the players at least a season together we can't starting slating them this early on get behind the team an see were we are at the end of the season . Don't fall for all that sky sports bollacks of stats and who hasn't scored for this an that long , we need champions league to compete with the rest of the big 5 and if we get it by the end of the season then were making good progress . Let's at least give them that amount of time don't be fooled by all the negativity it's mostly off other fans anyway , were Liverpool let's act like it. Kelloggs96 .

Nice try Rafa - we all get it you would like your old job back but could you please stop all these posts 'suggesting' we bring back Rafa. You had your chance it's time to move on.

JRG

When will you people realise that players like Cavani might not have wanted to come to a team outside of the champions league - Kenny had to buy within certain perimeters, and those where players who wanted to play for our wonderful and famous club - Unfortunately those perimeters did not include players who potentially want to make a name for themselves at smaller clubs to force a big money move to a bigger team in the coming seasons.

Also, To the original poster, Rafa too played Skrtel in the right back position, Against Middlesbrough - And let me think, Who made a complete person out of him that day, Oh yeah - Stewart Downing.

Have a little faith people, This is a mere bump on a road to steadyness - Once steadyness is achieved, then comes the fancy stuff.

Johnnyrhodes

He would of played Skyrtel because he has faith in his players. Remember Flanno's debut? I bet a few eyebrows were raised at that one when it happened but it paid off. I don't think Skyrtel has the ability to play on the wing, plus he had no support in that position when he had to cover in the centre.
I think Kenny made a mistake there and he knows it (it don't think he's that naive to notice) and will not make that mistake again. We are missing a leader in the midfield, yes we have Lucas but he is young and still learning his trade back there. Infront of Lucas was a set of 'new faces' that aren't used to playing with each other and (to me) looked scared and didn't know what to do.
Suarez did look really frustrated again and he had reason to because the service was non existent. It was a whole barrel full of mistakes that will be taken in by the coaching staff and worked on.

Anyway, like you I'm not trying to argue. Mearly throwing my 2 pence in like everyone else. I 100% don't want Kenny out and don't think that one bad result will shake his confidence one bit.
Regards

Myk

Hey ed was wonderin a couple of things please. Tried reading most of the posts today an didn't catch these questions.

When do the suspentions for Adam and Skrtel begin and is it for on game or 3?

Also do you have info on Gerrards availability for Wed?

Many thanks

Spriggo {Ed002's Note - They will serve their one game bans this mid-week. There is no news on Gerrard.}

1) current manc team is similar to Rafa's team (david silva & barry) as usual Americans cant match the arabs in salary
2) liverpool is a big club and not just another british club,we need big names or attractive players to attract worldwide supporters
3) im sure manager like rafa will attract these type of players because of reputation, KD unfortunately has left the game too long (only the british players can remember him) so it will be difficult to attract these world class players

Kenny want British player its ok with it they may need time to satle. but few mistake why Let Meirles go. he play like we want he is a ture Red player.

Raul M was voted player of the year from a list of players who'd won player of the the Barclays player of the month. They were the only choices fans had to vote for. Players like Berbatov, etc. I'm about 70/30 that was how he was voted fans player of the year, maybe someone could shed some more light on it but sure that was the case. Jonson9

19 Sep 2011 20:55:30
Hi guys/gals Lots of fans are calling for dalglishs head after such a dismal performance against spurs,Im not sure I agree but when its time to leave he will didnt he say nobody is bigger than the club,if this happens dont feel bad for him he will walk head high and pockets full of cash leaving us all dreaming for number 20.(godin 66yr red)

Ha ha ha, back to your own page Manc. New team, new players, new ideas. Plenty of time to get it right as our goal this season is Champs league. Carry on writing nonsense pal as you have given yourself the accolade of "muppet post of the month".
Back to bed!
Ultra Red

Godin,

You are without doubt the most negative poster on here! This must be your fouth post today criticising the players and management. And you reckon you supported Liverpool when they were in the old second division? Christ how long did you give Shankly before you wanted him and his players sacked?

JRG

I cant believe people are slating KK already this man is our savior and given time will prove it

19 Sep 2011 20:54:22
the problem with our play is henderson.we need to ask ourselves
'what does he bring to liverpool setup?'.

1. he cant tackle.
2.he cant keep the ball.
3. he passes backward and sideways most of the time.
4. i call him ghost cos you wont see him bar against very poor bolton
5. he is the real problem in our midfield and i dont know what kk see in him to play him ahead of jonjo, spearing who are better ball players.

6. fan talk about his energy but i dont see any.
7. no special skill, cant dribble.
8. fans should stop using age as an excuse

lfc does not have the luxury of time to accomodate non-performing player.

kk showed lack faith in jonjo, spearing, coady by buying henderson.

note:
the real future of lfc is not henderson but the real deal jack dunn.the boy is going to do great things for lfc, mark my word!

Nigerian fan(tooblack)

Hi nigerian fan was in lagos in 1960 its changed a lot since im sure,Henderson plays because hes the owners nephew and they have too couldnt be any other reason,

Give some more time to him. I will like Jonjo more then Henderson

All this talk of how Henderson cant cut it at Liverpool.........

I remember the same was said about Lucas not so long ago!

Good to hear that you were in lagos back in the 60s. it has changed a lot and you are very much welcome anytime.cheers!

It took lucas several seasons to start performing.henderson was a bad buy because if we want to get back in the top 4 we should of bought someone who can improve the team now not fullfil his potential in the future

19 Sep 2011 20:51:35
I read someones comments about Coates. I think it is realy wrong to judge Coates for his first day on the pitch. Coates was voted the best player in Copa America. Give the boy a chance. He is only 20 he just came to a new country, new team new environment. GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE

How to judge coates goal down man down then he came to pitch.

Only idiots are judging Coates. No one with any sense would judge him based on our collective miserable display.

Reddie Sixx

Yep, back to the same old default s**t, you always shout posters down who dont agree with me. That old chess nut poster's again, and again. Tag your own reply agree after you've wrote your own post you usually do cause der always up 1 nil soon as der up then stay their. What did i do. Not the cheek to dare say anything about Suarez. I'd not even mentioned Carroll and was just asking if Suarez was immune from a critical comment, that was it to the post you replyed with you bringing up Carroll not me. And your calling me paranoid. In a bit lad, a big bit. Jonson9

I don't use the agree/disagree buttons at all.
Let's just get to the bottom of this. I don't care if you like it or not but your comment about Suarez being immune from criticism is a back handed criticism in itself (you may struggle to understand that but that's not my fault) and yet you jump on anyone who criticises your beloved Andy Carroll.
Why not just answer my question for a change? Would you prefer Carroll to Suarez?

Chris in Tamworth

Get a room you two! lol

19 Sep 2011 20:39:44
talk about british players not being gd enough is rubbish. man utd have played with smalling jones evans cleverley carrick young rooney welbeck and they are top of the table after winning every game. british players are gd enough you just have to find them and allow them to adjust to the team.

Also their best season in 99 they had, scholes, neville, neville, beckham, cole, giggs, keane, so not many foreigners.this changed with the bosman ruling.

19 Sep 2011 20:39:31
lucas let us down again in the first 3mins he was at fault then never threw himself at modric for the goal and is not up to scratch he was their but he was'nt their if you know what i mean (i call him the sideways player)skertle is a cover defender at best... more deadwood the team need to gel and show class oh yea bellemy W T F was he at in the 5mins he played but it started with LUCAS from the kick off

19 Sep 2011 20:30:13
I still believe that we have a really excellent squad but we deserve a bit of luck. It will be good to win on wed and sat.

It is hard playing with nine men and bale and parkers behaviour was bad yesterday. But we now move on i can see a front three of Carroll, kuyt and bellamy starting wed.

I also believe that Charlie Adam is a fine player and has been brill this season was just unlucky against Spurs.

Some of the posts on this page is shocking lets get behind our team.

Mighty reds

Really Parker and Bales behavior were bad. Oh I guess they shood each take being kicked studs up. But it is ok for suarez to hit the floor every chance he gets. Quit blaming everyone else

19 Sep 2011 20:18:55
Anyone who starts talking about sacking KK on this site are not Liverpool supporters. Go support s**tski or someone crap club that changes its managers every 3 weeks. We are liverpool FC, we do not argue between us, we support the team with passion and unrivalled support.

Get behind Kenny and the team - they will come right - Still 32 games to go. Liverpool through and through - in Kenny we trust!

YNWA - Redboysie

Well said lad

Just to add to the Kenny's transfer list; Rafa Benitez during his time, bought only 11 British players out of the 76 transfers.

And among those 12 players, only Pennant, Bellamy, Johnson and Fowler made more than 10 appearances.

** And I forgot to mention Bellamy in the other post. So that makes the number of foreign players brought in by Kenny in the Summer 4 and British players 4.

Rafa bought keane and scot carson both british players made more than 10 appearances?

Keane is irish you person

Carson made 4, "FOUR" appearances!

what has happened to the club bringing through youngsters. spearing seems to have dropped off the radar. spearing seems to have fallen behind everyone. pacheco has never been given a chance. i would like to see suso play for the first team atleast in the cups but with the number of midfielders we now have that seems unlikely. flanagan has been dropped from the first team after his performance in the first game. kelly has played well and seems to be the only one getting first team play but will it continue when johnson returns. we havent bought youngsters either and put them into the first team. surely barca have shown that getting youngsters and training them early on is a better and more successful way then buying gd players like madrid do.

Young blood must be tested now. if one young player klick then we will rock. Suso or Raheem bring them on Kenny. I am sure they will make our Midfiled creative whice we missing every match.

19 Sep 2011 20:06:09
Here's something for you, you who says Kenny only buys British.

January Ins:
--------------
Suarez (Uruguay)
Carroll (England)

British: 1, Abroad: 1

Summer Ins:
-----------------
Henderson (England)
Adam (Scotland)
Downing (England)
Doni (Brazil)
Enrique (Spain)
Coates (Uruguay)
Bijev (USA)

British: 3, Abroad: 4.

*What do you have to say now?

Jack. D

The price paid for Henderson and carroll we can have much betetr then that if non Brithish player.

19 Sep 2011 19:59:59
Started to get worried when i saw all the players having a laugh and joke in training.Everybody likes a bit of a laugh at "work" but the only people laughing now are the mancs and blue noses.Time for the players to realise who the hell they are playing for and really start putting the effort in.The only positive from yesterdays shambles was once again the magnificent Liverpool fans and they are entitled to their opinion after paying hard earned money to watch that dross. All teams can have on off day but what i can't accept is a distinct lack of fight, effort and commitment which was clearly lacking from most players yesterday.I would like to see Kuyt and Bellamy start the next few games at least you know what you are going to get from them two,100% effort. If i was ever in the trenches i would certainly like them two next to me.Still to early to judge King Kenny but his signings are not filling me with optimism after spendind the best part of 100 mil since Jan(Suarez apart).I sincerely hope i am wrong.

This weekend's round of matches brought to light (and debunked) two MYTHS:
(1) Liverpool is a fine side and genuine contender for CL
(2) Man United are "not" a great side and "can be run close or even toppled".

We're simply a GOOD team with just 3 players of undeniable exceptional quality tasked to carry the entire.
Shankly's "a football team being like a piano" is well known to many.

8 men to carry it and 3 to play it. Therein lies the problem.
What happens when the 3 tasked with playing the piano are either not available to do so, or are doing a crap job?
All fails.
None of the 8 carriers is adept enough to step up and do the job . This is our story.

(2) I can tell you now, United ARE a BRILLIANT side.
They'll very likely win this league and reach another CL final.

Their team abounds with pace, creativity, invention and genuine class.
They've got options.
Rooney, Young, Nani, Valencia, Giggs, Hernandez.
Six players capable of (consistently) produce a moment of individual brilliance to win a game.
Genuine game-winners.

Then you come to this crop of ours... DEPRESSING... DEPRESSING!
Our creative limitations, and moreover the failure to adequately address them summer, APPALLING.

I remember our boss' glowing tribute to our strength in-depth after Suarez and Raul Meireles had just came off the bench and combined to sink Arsenal.

Interestingly enough, few days later, the same Meireles-- our most creative midfielder next to Gerrard-- is shipped out.
We decide to sell one of the most important players of the last campaign in the last minute WITHOUT any replacement lined up.

Yep, our manager suddenly saw fit to weaken the squad whose depth he'd been praising not a moment long ago.
People can FOOL themselves all they like about this "Meireles chickens out of 50-50s" platitude all they like, FACT is we foolishly let go of a very good player who gave us something different and would've been an important creative outlet.

The STUPID thing about the Meireles transfer's that it was a WEAKENING of our squad. NO (appropriate, almost like) replacement brought about an imbalance, an imbalance that's going to haunt us throughout the season.

In my humble opinion, in the event that things don't go as well as hoped for and expected (Fowler forbid), the starting of any post mortem should and probably will be the decisions made summer window.

As I said in my opening lines, that we're genuine, credible candidates for CL is simply not true, imo.
This team still has to prove it's mettle and credibility as a genuine top 4 contender.

Personally, I'll wait until after December to give my views on whether or not I see us as genuine top 4 contenders.
For now, the only safe thing to say is that the Manchester teams will take 1st and 2nd, Chelsear are probables for 3rd whilst us, Spurs and Arsenal will be scrambling for 4th, of which it is too early to tell who the probables are.

Bankie dankie

Couldn't agree with you more on raul , people just seem to look at stats now to see how good a player is instead of going the game week in week out an looking at the movement and crucial passes , clearances , goals. I know ( an so will so many other proper scousers know cause we know are footy more than most) raul is a much better player than any other midfielder we have apart from our captain.

Raul didnt want to play for us ffs. What was KK supposed to do - force him to play? Dont be ridiculous. Doesnt matter how good or how crap he was he didnt want to play for Liverpool. You may as well have a go at KK for not signing Gary Neville. Dimwit

cozinoz

Cosinoz , raul did nt want to play for peanuts who can blame him looking at are signings , and what the he'll has signing Neville got to do with it raul had 3 years left on a contract , don't talk Poe mate , I know he wanted to leave , you would want to leave your job if a bunch of nobody's come in your work an could nt do the job you can do very much better.

Andy Carroll is not suited for pass & move football which is what Kenny is trying at LFC. THIS IS THE REALITY BELIEVE IT OR NOT. Carroll was doing well at Newcastle it's because the were always making all these crosses & in fact Carroll scored most of the Goals using his arial ability & Physical Strength. Carroll's ball control is awful, has no pace no trickery & it seems now he can't even win headers + looking like he is not even trying hard enough to improve his game, he just enjoys drinking! - Carroll was over priced, he is worth only15+20M max. We should have waited till the summer to replace Torres. Though Aguero is not within our limit players like Higuain, Benzema Falcao, Mario Gomez & even Ola Toivonen, Lisandro Lopez, Papiss Cisse, Soldado would have been a much better signing.

It made no difference whether we bought Carroll in a hurry to replace Torres or not as he started only two matches & did nothing apart from scoring a double against City. We could have survived even with out him ( something we did in the second half of last season).
Playing Carrol upfront is also having a huge affect on Suarez's performances + the whole LFC teams performances.
The time when huge tall Strikers bullying the defenders has gone today's modern game is based on pace & trickery & center forwards now needs pace & trickery to bully defenders not only power, physical & arial strength.

But as a die hard Liverpool fan, i still hope Carroll starts scoring goals, wining us matches & improve his game!
Hope King Kenny don't have to regret the decision on spending 35m on him + signing over priced British players.

Andy Carroll was only brought in to soften the blow of Torres leaving with no tought of how he would progress in the team i'd much prefer to have taken Crouch back

Crouch?

Don't worry fellow reds. Its my son's 3rd birthday today and he has already perfected the kick and run after it move a la Gareth Bale so by age 18 he'll be a worldbeater.

However he does think he is Batman so we might have to change our kit a bit.

D 2308 ;)

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Stick him in front of videos of messi for 10 years fella

Better still have him watch the power, skill and passion stevie G brings to a game

Nothiong better in footbal than watching Gerrard in full flight as good as Messi undoubtedly is!

Well Harry has said that he thinks he's a top, top player and a triffic kid and that he'd like him in his creche but he doesn't want to talk about other people's kids.

hypothetical question :-

what if any of the liverpool squad came on this site and read all the nasty, disrespectful, negative comments posted about them on this so called fan page?

Most of you are bang out of order, and have been waiting for a poor performance since the transfers. What a load of dog s**te your banter is.As if it aint bad enough that the media and theoppositions supporters are all against andy carrol,he then has to put up with so called reds slagging him off,no wonder he has f*** all confidence.negativity breeds negativity and this is what your so called support is generating.Well done, big up yourselfs, pat on the back and all that.Muppets.

Carroll has no pace, no trickery, ball control is awful. This what i have been seeing from him when ever i watched him playing, I am not blind, face the reality Carroll is useless he is not the kind of player who will fit into Kenny's pass & move game!

Fans are allowed to air their views whether they are positive or negative. why would we sit back and praise someone who is out of form and some of us believe the team would perform better without him in the team. no player is bigger than the team and the fans want to see the team improve. some believe it will happen once people like carroll get back into their top form and some believe its when these kind of players are dropped for others.

I agree with you but it was a panic buy they knew the fans would have gone crazy if they hadnt done something drastic wrong move & costly in every way.

Who was that big clown playing at Centre back for Liverpool yesterday? Oh, that was Coates? I thought he was supposed to be world class? No, so he's just another flop? Well, he didn't look too rosey yesterday did he? Can't lace Smalling and Jones boots.

G.A.G.U.S

That's the same Smalling & Jones that gave Chelsea 22 chances yesterday? On another day Chelsea would have taken those easy chances. Your scoreline covered a multitude of defensive errors.

The Irish Rover

The way the team were playing Messi could've come on and he'd looked s**t.... you can't single out players.. the whole team was poor.

Typical Man UTD fan coming over here!

Players need time d******d , smalling and Jones have been in the prem for a year or two.
I'm sure if Jones signed for us you'd call him s**t anyway.
You lot signed the biggest flop of all time in veron , so how you can comment is beyond me.
How much was he again?

LAVERS

I agree veron was a massive flop but surely shevchenko was the worse. as for jones and smalling at the start of the season they have been exceptional but lets wait until the end to see if they can keep it up. finally for coates he was chucked in against a very attackive spurs team and he was playing with a bunch of players that didnt seem interested. also by the end we were down to 9men so we were asking even more from him. he will need time to get into the team and i slightly pleased with his performance he didnt give up when others around him were and he didnt doubt his own ability which shows he is strong mentally which he will need to play in the prem

We can judge Coates the first day on the pitch. The poor kit he just came to a new country, new surroundings, new sity and out of the blue he was asked to play. Come non give him time mate

Dont Judge Coates a man down a goal down he came to the pitch.

I believe a certain Mr Torres has a worse record at his new club than Shevchenko did

Chris i said is he immune from it not that we should be critical of Suarez for the sake of it. No player including Carroll who gets s**t off you no matter what he plays like or whatever. Why the f*** do you troll my posts. I've humoured you to be honest because of Ed009 asking me to. Since your snide comment when i said i'd been a pro footballer. What was it, words to this effect anyway. In your exprerience people who've played the game know little or some s**t like that, thought whats the need for that, that i've played against. What pisses you off, that you've only scored at Old Trafford on Fifa, i did in it a Youth team game mate but still did and we got t**tted 5-1. K79 the poster underneath of your snide comment at the time said you let yourself down with that last comment, comments about how i should take Valium, what kind of smart asse is that. Reply to all you the s**t you want. You've defo got a complex with Carroll though Jesus, when other posts going up the other day about supporting him and their was a few a good few agrees and comments but none off you. Keep trolling, you wont get another reply till ya get down off your tractor and learn the nuisances of the game. Something completely lost on you it seems. Carroll is gonna get s**t anyhow. I was just making the point like i said is Luis Suarez immune from any critical comment that is all. Jonson9

Nice to see someone else sticking up for Carroll, for me its clear to see he has a lot of respect for Kenny and wants to do well for the team. During the game Carroll played as a striker, left mid and then finished on the right (not sure why he ended up on the right but anyway) i thought his commitment to the team was great, can you imagine some players being asked to do that for their teams.
Will be interesting to see how the lads react in the Brighton game, i cant see it being a push over by any means but Liverpool should win with a strong starting 11.

always a red

Usual irrational rant.
When I pointed out that the ex pros I have met (in both football and cricket) seemed to be among those who had the worst opinions I'm sure I pointed out that I thought your opinions were unlike the ex pros I'd met because yours were valid.
How do you know to what level I played?
How would that make any difference anyway?
My comments about having a Valium were based on your over the top paranoid aggressive responses to anybody who happens to disagree with you, as you have just proved again! I dont "troll" your posts, I just read most posts on most days.
Finally don't feel the need to humour me Im capable of looking after myself and trust me I'll have no problem debating any issue you like.

Man Utd have 2 young guns did well, and play for 1st team football. Smalling and Cleverly. we have few young lads they did realy well last year where are they? Henderson giving too many chances what about Jonjo ? why there is no chance for pesacho not even a game kenny try him. we didnt trust our young player?

Pacheco is playing for Atl' Madrid - on loan for the season

I know it but why he should use few game and tasted what he can do.

Well lads. Was just sitting thinking to myself bored at work today about a few things. First thing I was thinkin about was how much better off we would have been if FSG had of bought us when Rafa was still in charge. Now no disrepect to The King but we definatly wouldnt have ended up with the tripe that is Andy Carroll and Charlie 'I can't run or tackle' Adam. Imagine Rafa was in charge, we would have had the likes of Javi Martinez, Ever Banega, Fernando Llorente, Bojan. Better technical players, actually, just better players. Kenny bought british, because its all he knows, and its the only place he has any pulling power with players. Look at Reina, Xabi, Fernando, Rafa's signings. The main reason they signed was because of the draw and the lure of playing for Rafa Benitez.

Yes you may say its a gamble signing foreign players, an Rafa got some wrong. But he was working on a shoe string budget. All his high end signings where successes, bar Keane, who i dont feel was really a Rafa signing, and Aqualani, who was a panic buy.

Bringing me on to thon Rick Parry. If it was not for him we would have Sergio Aguero playing for us. Also the likes of David Silva, Steven Jovetic, Cristanio Ronaldo, Michael Essien, Dani Alves.

Liverpool will not win The Premier League for the same reasons England or Scotland, or any other of the Home Nations will never win a major Championship. british Players are not good enough.

Mojo k

Suarez, Coates, Enrique. I think King Kenny has signed some quality foreign players.

As for the recruitment of the British based players I'm sure that the fact we had not qualified for Champions Lge played a part. Regardless of our history a large percentage of players from abroad would only consider coming to this league if they played Champions Lge or if they had silly wages. We currently don't provide either.

Yesterdays performance was a quick in the teeth but lets recognise it for what it is - a warning that we have to improve as a team.

D 2308

SIR I take my hat off too you right on,I really hope dalglish does well but im not amored with his buys henderson etc.

Yes Enrique is spanish, but has been playing in England for a number of seasons with Newcastle. Suarez was a Highish profile player, who Ajax where looking shot off. They were brandishing him around any club that would have him, and yes i'm glad we signed him. Its clear that he and Coates were Comoli's signings.

Look i'm a huge fan of the King and still am 100% behind him, i'm just pointing out that things could have been done differently, and we would have a much better techincal squad, for less of the price if we had of bought players from the continent.

Mojo k

still feel we have made a mistake in signing carroll. the top teams are no longer playing big bullying forwards. barca have messi as there front man. man utd have hernandez. madrid have benzema. arsenal have van persie. us and chelsea seem to have been left behind with the big forwards and its costing us both. it will be hard to get rid of him but against the top teams he should not be played. a front 3 of downing suarez and bellamy would have width speed and finishing capability.

Our leader has not managed for over 15yrs so please give him time to get in the groove im sure he will have figured it
out for next season then we can really show them after we get rid of our deadwood of course.

19 Sep 2011 18:21:21
after watching the spurs game you have to give them credit.
they saw our weaknesses and exploited them,
skrtle at right back was always going to be dangerous, bale was running circles around him pulling holes in our defence, skrtle couldnt handle him. this gave modric, defoe and ade opportunity to exploit the gaps.
adam looked slow from the begining, after got sent off we at least got to see a bit more of lucas and why some fans now see him as one of our best players, he really kept it together for a good portion of the match.
we never got to see the best of suarez, he looks a bit pissed off at the moment. maybe fatigue setting in. he has been putting in so much effort its understandable.
carroll was ineffective but he was out of position most of the game, at least he was putting in the effort a bit more.

we need a proper right back in the team again as soon as possible. it was a massive weakness the other day, and other teams will exploit it in the same way. hopefully kelly or johnson will be back for the next league game and we have at least one fit for the remainder of our games, carra should keep his place but we all know he is not quick enough to cover his own position plus all the mistakes skrtle will make at right back.
not trying to kick skrtle when he is down, im a big fan but he cant be played out of position again.
we have lost this game 4 years in a row now so lets not get too upset we are no worse off than the last 4 seasons.
we need 4th place this year and we will still get it.

MIKEY

Maybe suarez is becoming disenchanted like Torres only sooner?

Comment about Suarez becoming disenchanted, the person who posted that needs a real spanking.

To many scumbags on here calling for kk's head we had no chance after the sending off. Modrics goal was great but things would of ended different if we finished with 11 men I think carrol is used as a scape goat by most on ere. We've lost two games ppl need to get a grip there's a long season a head of us

thanks
big red john

Carroll reminds me of a donkey, not a goat!

Sir Alex x

Early days, but the last few games have started to make me worry. I always felt that it would be the lats 2 games that we would see how far we have come.

Last season we would never have thought we would be beat Spurs and Stoke with woy, but after 100 million in the summer we still haven't. These are the games that we NEED to win, if we are to get 4th let alone push for the league. I think Kenny and the players will be judge at the end of the season. But i fear we have spent a lot of money and not really improved.

To be fair from the start of the match we look tired, sluggish and under threat constantly dont know what was wrong with our players but hope Kenny sorts it out

We need to wake up and realise Charlie Adam is a very good Premier League footballer. But certainly not world class like Xabi Alonso, which is what one Liverpool fan suggested on You're on Sky Sports on Saturday night.

Hes losing his place to gerrard so whats the problem?
hes a great squad player, when on form he is fantastic, when hes not he is crap, but once gerrard is back we wont have to play him when hes on bad form

MIKEY

He was good for blackpool and i am a fan of his but his passing has been terrible since he came which was one of the main reasons we bought him after the spurs defeat i watched a few of the games from this season which i had recorded and his passing is not up to scratch

MJ

I don't suppose you've noticed how a lot of our goals this season have come from Adam's excellent set-piece deliveries? For goodness sake, not everything in life happens STRAIGHT AWAY! Adam has been with us for a handful of games. Why are so many of our so-called 'fans' bloody egits these days? there was a Liverpool fan on Five Live last night calling for Kenny to be sacked, along with half the team, including Suarez, who the caller thought was 'useless'. Next time we have a bad result people, go for a quiet walk, think about the dignity and wisdom of Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Moran et al, put things in perspective, remember why we love LFC, and, above all, stop the bloody knee-jerk reactions! Rant over.
JHiggs.

Hiya eds,
As you know, I don't have the Sky so I missed the game yesterday and the highlights later. I was just reading the banter to catch up. Have I got this right ed :
Kenny moving upstairs in Jan
Carra retiring on Friday
Suarez sent to coventry before a move to Spain
Carroll, Adam & Hendo loaned back to their previous clubs
Meireles & Torres coming the other way back to us

Anything else I missed there ed...?

Xabi Alonso is also coming back

I know that it is still earlier in the season. But over the summer when we bought English players i started to worry. We seemed to be linked with lots of overseas talent. But i feel we have ended up with over hyped over paid English players. For me i would rather get one or 2 good players rather than 4 or 5 avg players each season even if that means 2 30 million players.
Mata would have been ideal, all summer we where linked with him, but once again it never happened. We have to start competing with the other top 3 clubs otherwise will are just going to be a top 10 team. I hope I am wrong but I am starting to fear for us. Most people will slate me for this, but if Rafa had this money we might be in a different situation. Years ago we where linked with the likes of Silva, Aurgeo, Villa and Aimar. When Raffa left Valencia we could have got most of these for next to nothing. But we are still buying players like Downing and Adam, which i feel will never be good enough to win the league, i have doubts for the top 4.

SIR when you are right your RIGHT.

seems like alot of people are getting on kennys back now. we've played 1 bad game and were unlucky against stoke. what does everyone expect skertle is not a right back yet he played against one of the fastest wingers in the prem in bale which spurs made the most of. agger got injured which didn't help. and it seems every time carrol plays the ball gets hoofed up to him to early which means we don't go through saurez enough. i would have liked to see us play with bellamy saurez and downing behind carroll but make sure everyone is told not to just play the easy ball to carroll evertime.

19 Sep 2011 16:59:15
I watched the first half again last night, and to be fair, it looked like we were just beginning to get back into the game a bit after about 20-25 minutes.

We put a few half-decent moves together and we were starting to get the ball into their half (e.g. the Suarez offside goal), and I was starting to think we might just get our act together and turn the game around- but when Adam got the second yellow that all but ended our chances and ruined everything.

I honestly think the whole game turned on that first harsh yellow for Adam. The second incident looked worse than it was, and you couldn't blame the ref too much for thinking it was a bad challenge when Adam was actually going straight for the ball and Parker came into his line of sight too late.
But that should have been Adam's first yellow, not his second.

And after Skrtel's first booking KK should have subbed him- you could see he was having a bad day, and was clearly at risk of making another rash challenge. You could see it coming.

KK cocked it up just as much as the players, and the ref stopped our chances of getting back into the game.

In fact the whole game is turning into a comedy or a lottery decided by refereeing errors. On the same day as we were booked for half our fouls and thus lost two men, United were given two clearly offside goals, and a few vicious tackles were not even penalised let alone carded- and yet Adam gets a yellow for almost nothing. There is no consistency whatsoever in the refereeing, and it is damaging the game.
Better decisions yesterday would at least have given the fans a good spectacle and an even competition to watch, whereas all they got was a desperate holding action by Liverpool after Adam's unfair dismissal.

But I bet that's as bad as you'll see them play all season. We all know that it can and will only get better, unlike Roy's tenure where it just got worse.
And when SG and a proper right back are in action again, they'll kick on yet again.
Spurs played a blinder for 25 minutes, fair play to them- and then shortly after that it hardly mattered how they played, we'd had it anyway.
It wasn't our day, but my money's still on LFC for a top 4 finish. The Gunners will be too late getting their act together as we were last year, so Spurs are the main rivals for fourth spot- but remember they got thrashed just a week earlier- and over a full season, I still think we're going to do better than them.

LFC for at least fourth place this season, and possibly even higher.

19 Sep 2011 16:54:50
The quicker Kenny realises that he is not Ferguson the better -thinking he can "talk" to the referees. Grow up Kenny you should know better - that's why there's no "Sirs" at LFC. The powers that be do not want LFC back up there along with the Manchester 2 as this would keep their beloved London Clubs out of it. That will not be allowed to happen. It's very obvious that decisions have been taken at a high level to ensure LFC are halted -some might call it cheating but it's just the way it is - that's why Utd have 19 titles & will go on from strength to strength.

Josek

The words 'head' and 'nob' spring to mind when I read this post

Face facts, we were brutal! Roll on January! and also kenny is not a king, just a manager.
mayoman

I think your use of the adjective brutal is all wrong my southern friend. Two red cards would suggest Liverpool were brutal and Spurs simply got lucky ;-)

Yes, why is he called 'King'? All he's ever done is score and create shedloads of goals in one of the most successful and stylish Liverpool teams of all time. Then he luckily became the first player-manager to do the double, and fluked another two league titles with Liverpool. He then went beyond the call of duty to provide support and comfort to the families of 96 Liverpool supporters who died whilst attending a game of football, to the detriment of his own health, and had to leave the club he loved because he was emotionally exhausted. He then somehow managed to get a dinosaur of a club promoted to the Premier league, which he then went on to win again. Who does this Kenny guy think he is? 'King' indeed. At least when 'Diddy' brought out an aftershave called 'I am King' the world could nod in agreement at his sage and worthy self-declaration of royalty.

Hi eds guys/gals yesterday I was crazed and after a good nights sleep( artificialy introduced )feel a little better.Liverpool f/c fans now has a lot of questions to ask and be brutaly frank with yourselves, why is hendersons first on the team sheet,my answere is they paid to much and have to justify their spending, what happened to the pass a move football dished up to us the latter part of last season which swept dalglish into power, why didnt they play carragher at right back thats easy remember when he played that position for england at wembley was roasted and immediately retired for internationals, also johnson & kelly are injured,I dont know what their training methods are but that should be looked into we dont seem able to pass the ball maybe they should train in red shirts(not orange or yellow) to give them an idea who they are playing for after all we are LIVERPOOL F?/C(godin 66 yrs red)

Wish i could correct my posts after they have been posted(godin)

We made a big mistake in selling raul , both kenny and comilli , he could and has played in 3 different positions in our midfield. Look at modric yesterday , good on levy stick too your guns not like u's we always cave in with the no ones bigger than the club shout , played brilliant scored a Worldy head down knows he can't do nothing till jan at least . Point being sell raul cause he wants a pay rise not in to that . Hope it doesn't come back to haunt us .

Raul deserved to be sold hes not good enough. want proof? watch the united game

MIKEY

We let our best man of the last year go. 1st Alonso, Then Mescharano and latest Meirles. a pay rise can make Meirles sty. he cover up Gerrard injury last year.

How many other players from are squad get in the chealsea team that played the scum on Sunday 1 or 2 maybe , get real mikey he was voted best player last year by other supporters , he scored crucial goals in tight games , he come on against arsenal an won us the game with his movement an link up with luis he will be badly missed , just pray are main man stays fit for us. {Ed001's Note - by supporters that only see him play on MOTD as that was the only time he looked particularly good.}

Alonso was always going to go once Rafa undermined him by trying to replace him with Gareth Barry. Mascherano wanted to go to Barcelona, plain and simple. Alan Hansen on MOTD2 last night highlighted Meireles's poor positional sense and defensive fragility against ManU. Those points aside, good post.

Thanks ed001
if you watch a whole game with raul in he does little in terms of teamwork.
he scored a few important goals yeah, a few.
a few goals dont earn you a place at liverpool. consistantly scoring, great teamwork, and a decent work ethic will earn you a place at liverpool. raul gave us none of that.

MIKEY {Ed001's Note - I spent all last season editing whines from everyone about how crap he had played in all but about 3 games. People easily forget when they see a few edited highlights though, they forget how poor he was for most of the season. He is the epitome of a MOTD player.}

Fact: Carroll, Henderson and Adam are not up to standard. We paid around 60m for these three. We could have bought NZogbia and Parker for less than the money we paid for Henderson! No pattern to the team at all and Suarez just seems to argue with anyone - not good for team spirit. KK you have wasted alot of money and we are no further forward. Agree? {Ed001's Note - *yawn* clearly you are talking complete crap, but then you were obviously not watching us last season under Hodgson.}

Im annoyed with yesterday but the jury's still out for me.

Adam is quality when he's allowed time on the ball but theres no getting away from his lack of pace and inability to turn a man in a tight position.

Carroll has potential, not my cup of tea but a very expensive impact player, certainly shouldn't be regarded as number 1 striker as he can't even run with the ball. In fact he takes that long to get the ball onto the outside of his left peg its a joke.

Henderson has shown glimpses of quality and clearly needs to settle down. He is like a rabbit in front of headlights. He hides for the majority of the game. In fact he was nondescript on Match of the Day last night, you wouldn't have know he was playing, not one highlight with him involved in the game.

I've managed to get to all home games over the past 2 seasons and I have to say, specifically last game of the season last year, that Spurs are the best footballing side i've seen at Anfield and we seem to get destroyed by them in midfield. Its just a shame the two Mancs got them early doors when they were in disarray.

I do believe the complexion of the game would have been totally different if Martin Kelly had been playing. I don't think the majority of Liverpool fans realise how good the lad is and what he brings to the right hand side. I'd play him before Johnson all day long as he is good both defensively and going forward.

I think yesterday was a classic example of how one player being non-effective can unsettle the balance of the team. we had the same problem with Ensua and the left side of the park the season before last. We now seem to have resolved that issue but have the same problem now on the right. Why wasn't Flanno picked. If he's injured surely Andre Wisdom would've been a better option than Martin Skirtle.

Kenny blooded the young lads last year when he had nothing to lose. Now he seems a bit more cautious and we payed the price for it yesterday.

I condemn thee to a season of perpetual diabolical football

Ye like you said another no name warrior, Bale unplayable on his day. I said their few and far between and i was right, and you agreed with me by saying he wasn't the at his best yesterday so you proved my point far me thanks lad. Just wondering is Suarez immune from any critical comments no matter what. Sure does seem so. Jonson6

Are you saying that we should criticise Suarez? Don't you regularly argue that we shouldn't criticise Carroll?
Do you prefer Carroll to Suarez? Really?
Sure does seem so.
(by the way this is just banter Jonson mate let's not get carried away)

ed - i've been rooting for Henderson for the past few games, but now I'm starting to have doubts as well. Having observed him for 6 games, in your opinion, do you think it's time someone else like Bellamy or Maxi takes his place? Should Kenny drop him like he dropped Carroll for a couple of games?

SingRed {Ed001's Note - no, I don't think he needs to be dropped, he just needs time to grow into the position he is being asked to play.}

And what is his position? CM or RM? {Ed001's Note - I think he can play either, but he needs to play regularly to learn exactly how to play whichever position it is decided he is needed in.}

I think hendo will do just find when we are able to play a more offensive game.He is really good with the ball. He is not a Mascherano player. I don't Know why he is getting the stick he is.Kenny must make the decision to drop Mr Carragher and we can then push the players forward. Henderson is a much better player in the opponents Half.

Open your eyes take off the rose colored glasses,we dont have time to wait for henderson to develope(2/3 yrs lucas)and hes only decent they play henderson thy have to ,paid too much (godin 66yr red)

This scenario was written in the stars, we will lose 2 games in row, people will start questioning and up-comes Steven Gerrard; and everything will be rosy. How many times did that happen, eds and fans?

OH NO!

I've just realised that Skrtel and Adam will both be available for selection on Saturday- FFS Kenny leave them out and play Stevie and one of our younger full backs.

I am taking my five year old son for the first time and I want him to see some good players which means Henderson must also not play epecially after the last two games when he has not turned up.

I would play Skrtle and Coates in the Centre back positions myself.Carra is the main reason that our good start to the season is now tailing off. Managers know that he can be got at.It's now becoming an issue of whether Jamie will look at his performances over the last three games, and admit that he is literally holding the team back.2 of the goals we conceded on saturday was down to Jamie playing deeper than the other defenders. He would not get into most of the Premiership first teams. And if he was a Hodgson signing he would have been let go in the summer. You have been a great player for our club Jamie Thank You and good night.

Don't go then, true red fans will go to matches regardless who's selected, get a grip and stop moaning like a 5 year old

19 Sep 2011 14:30:44
Just want to have a rant of that's ok, firstly well done to spurs, they played well yesterday, big ade was outstanding for them, am sure our big Andy will produce performance like tha soon, right so after watching yesterday an all season I really think refs have defo got it In for is this season, Adam first tackle was the first challenge in the game, this after he was hacked at by spurs players, a talk to wud b suffice, same wit skytel, then the 2nd yellow for Adam was clear as day he only had eyes for the ball, didn't even see Parker. Skrtels 2nd was a yellow that's a given. But let's look at a few stats spurs committed 20 fouls 1 yellow, we done 14 2 reds?? Then Suarez sarcastically clapped after he was clattered for about the 3rd time, which the ref choose to ignore, an was booked, but it's ok for Rooney to froth at the mouth spitting venom in the refs face an get away wit it. Then coates cum I'm from the side an gets the ball wit his long legs, his first tackle an gets booked, but let's not forget this is the same red who thought it was ok to play with beach balls. Looking at the season on a whole so far though, first game dowd shud of sent off Richardson an ruled carrolls goal out, then there's the Stoke game, ref gave them a dodgy pen wen it was quite obvious Walters fouled Carra first an made him loose his balance, them the 2 stone wall pens, so that's 7 decisions that have gone against u's this season so far that I can think of, please add more people if u think of any others, I think the talk Kenny had with the refs chief has done u's no favours, as wen was the last time we had 2 players sent off? Just a little bit too coincidental that he has a talk an the next match we get f all from the ref
Sorry for long rant

Carlos slim

Just want to add to the rant about unusual refereeing, did anyone else notice that just before smalling was subbed he committed a foul an dowd reached for his pocket an saw that his number was up on the subs board, an decked not to take any action.

Carlos slim

Not being negative but what gives your confidence that big Andy is going to play well soon?

Nothing in his body lanaguage or curent play suggest so?

Maybe big andy needs to feel the Love from Barton & Co. to play well, something he may not get at Liverpool?

According to Sky statistics it was Spurs 14-fouls and 1-yellow card; Liverpool 9-fouls and 6-yellow cards. I appreciate there is different 'levels' of foul but to me there wasn't really a bad tackle in the game. As I said yesterday, booking Adam after 3-minutes was ridiculous - it isn't a local derby so you don't need to book players early to lay down a marker, it just required a good talking to.

Also Graham 'Three card trick' Poll coming out today and saying "I'm glad Liverpool had two players sent off at White Hart Lane" doesn't fill you with confidence that our officials are truly impartial. We were well are truly beaten by a beater team but there has been too many poor decisions against us already this season.

JRG

I think the crowd had a big part to play in most the referees decicions, it was like a pantomime.

Myk

Bitter sooo bitter , you were well beaten ! Deal with it ........AWWWWWWWW THE WEF DONT LIKE US >>>>>>>>:`( think i might crwy !!

Iam not going to worry for the loss. Still I have confidence in king, players and whole management. yes, we lost badly. did not spurs lose badly to manc. Its all about learning from your mistakes. Still we have games. We can still march forward much stronger. Take positives from the match.
1) Coates will surely play against brighton
2) I think king will start Henderson in middle and we can know how he will play in middle. I dont think Gerrard will play whole 90 min.
st
YNWA

Please get this through your skull henderson is only a decent player at best, would he get a game with man/u man/c spurs/etc the answere is no,we do not have time to wait (3 years)

Go and support either ManU/ ManC/Spurs then, the less negitive supporters we have the better, always follow your team thru thick and thin regardless of the result

Listern ive been a fan for 66yrs that includes the second division, all you fools have one answere go and support bla/bla/if you dont agree with a poster, you

Why don't we have time to wait? We are overhauling the team, that doesn;t happen in a few games, it may take this year just to bed in.

Stop being so impatient, what is with the gotta have it now society, that's why the county is in debt, why people loot, and why there's so many moaners about these days

If they had bought the right players in the first place we wouldnt have to wait (godin)

19 Sep 2011 14:09:23
We were terrible yesterday and skrtel needs to be dropped from the squad I know he was played out of position but he is crap all round! Adams tackle was terrible! I would take 4th place now and that's being optimistic! Dub red

4th place is unrealistic its not going to happen

Keny would take 4th place right now

Five games into the season and some of you are already losing faith, some supporters you are, if kenny and co believe we can do it then we definately can do it, after all they are the ones with the qualifications and experience, stop slagging them off and get behind them, where's the 12th man gone

Christ almighty, were just 5 games in thats all, its not all doom and gloom you know i.ve supported the reds for over 35 years, yes i get upset when we lose, but i don't take it to heart, not worth it, theres more imported things in life than worrying about it all.

Hi I guess we are all differant im a fan for 66 yrs and nothing is more important than liverpool f.c sorry (godin)please dont tell me to get a life im in the caribbean doing better than fine.

We got rid of the deadwood players this summer, I wish we could get rid of the deadwood fans as easily. They're really putting me off football. I've supported LFC since 1974 and I have never seen such useless tits for fans at this club.

Look i love Suarez as much as the next man. I wrote a post about trying to justify the chance missed so far ala Stoke, where if that was Carroll or Henderson, the out cry would've been the normal s**t about their price. The free kick and pen said it all. He wants to take everything when their's clearly a better pen taker in team. Adam against Sunderland, Adam should of taken it even though i said at time that if Suarez fancied it fair enough. but in the cold light of day Adam should've taken it. And i know he's good a free kicks. But come off it. That ball from that close needed either the power of Carroll, or a Curler what ever side he fancied from Downing. No, a w**k chip over the wall no where near. I agree that Bellamy defo should've been brought on at 1-0, could've helped Skertal plus he would've given us our best chance of scoring which was on the break. Cannot wait for Gerrard back, i swear i'm praying he's finally sorted, just saying, if it was anyone else how ever frustated in a Liverpool shirt going off at refs and lines men re of frustration they'd be getting a ripping. I dont Want Suarez to go, he's world class top echelon, anywhere of course not but wish when playing for Liverpool you cant carry on behaving like that i know he's got high standards but needs to lead by example not just with his talent. Jonson6

Hey you notice Bale had a poor game for his standards and still got 2 of our lads sent off. Told YOU the other day that he is unplayerble on his game and you disagreed totaly. Well he had a crap day yesterday and was unplayeble wasnt he

I think he might be feeling the pinch from the copa america he just might need a rest as ed said earlier.

Did you guys saw bale say somthing to Ref befor Ref pull out the yellow card. Did Bale ask for it ? Ref was very near to the incident and first look like he call the player come to him then saw he pull out the card. its take quit a few second to do that. normaly that not happen Ref is very quick to make his mind.

Bale was the instigator of the red cards

Getting his own back on Adam!

I thought if a player says to the ref to book him he is meant to booked himself as well

No crativity in midfield. lots of back pass been given to Reina from midfield. even commentetor say that negetive football. a Top club shouldnt play that kind of football. who is our creative midfielder ?

19 Sep 2011 13:51:11
We were only 1 down with a man less and half hour left to play when skirtle got the road so score line is worst than it should be but spurs were a lot sharper and deserved the 3 points .Stevie g is badly needed ,seen posts sayin he might not have a spot on team when he came back well now he has his pick of 3 or 4 id say ,wat is buggin me is how poor stoke looked after yesterday .took 3points off us but put to sword by sunderland who are no great shakes .We have to get 3 points at home to wolves and steady ship 3rd and 4th places are up for grabs and gunners have to be in trouble already ,just dont look top 4 at this stage of season plus more hard games on way ,so 2 spots up for grabs between us spurs and chelsea .

I honestly believe if we were playing man utd yesterday we would of conceded 8 or more, spurs were going through the motions, the mancs would of destroyed us even before skirtle went, we were lucky not to be 4 or 5 down before that we have to face up to the truth we were really very bad we never had a go at all

What an idiotic comment. Doesn't matter how badly we playing we always up our game against Utd and thats why people moan. We seem to have a level of game for Utd and poss Chelsea but the it drops. Were not consistent enough and thats why we won't challenge for the title this year. This was was always going to be about regrouping and rebuilding

1st of all I ask You guys dont go for my head. there is strong rumers in Italy that Liverpool ask Carlo Anceloti like to join in january not not? Kenny offer his Resign when ever the woner like it. is there any truth in it Ed ? {Ed002's Note - Let's assume not. Ancelotti will almost certainly be the next Real Madrid manager.}

Ed002, interesting.... any view on Mourinho's next move? I have a feeling he might be the next Man U manager but time doesn't appear to fit... or perhaps England could tempt him for the WC in 2014?

Richards {Ed002's Note - I have no feeling at the moment but I don't see it being England. I am not sure the hierarchy at Manchester United would want him and think perhaps Lauren Blanc is still in view. Manchester City? Who knows; much will depend on where they are at the end of the season. Back to Chelsea? Would probably have happened if Hiddink could have sat in this season - now I am not so sure. But I rather suspect he will be in the headlines by next summer.}

Owen Coyle will come in as manager in January and bring Cahill with him

Moreno might be the next city manager. I can see the owners of city running out of patience with Mancini if he does not deliver the PL this season. Just an idea anyway.

19 Sep 2011 13:46:58
Ok where to start? 22 years in the navy, thats 22 years that have coincided with the mancs dominating the league whilst our highlights have been a few cups and some heroics in europe. Thats 22 years of been surounded by manc fans 24/7, theres no getting away from them, so before the usual idiots start going on about not been a real fan and same old lines like in kenny we trust and the liverpool way realise that I have spent most yesterday and today trying to make some arguments for the team, and it's pretty bloody hard to be honest. I like most people on here looked forward to this season with some genuine hope, new owners settled in new signings and gerrard saying he's fitter than he has been for years, it all sounded good. Now was yesterday a blip? was it just a bad day? The answer i'm afraid is no! I'm not going to to just slagging off players or the manager just because of one game and i have given this some thought so stick with me here. Our pre season in the far east started to raise a few questions, whilst great for marketing the club and all the photos and blogs looked and sounded great we should have been more than a little concerned about how many goals we were conceeding. We chose to ignore it and put it down to new players bedding in. And then the season started, sunderland, stoke and spurs all teams likely to be top half and to be honest they will all be looking at a european place and they have all taken points from us. The Gunners game looked like a great result at the time but after the mancs took them to bits and even blackburn stuck 4 past them that doesn't look so good. Yesterday Spurs could call on the services of Parker, Modric, Bale and Van Der Vart. We had Henderson, Adam and downing, there is a reason why some of there players are valued at twice as much as ours, they are better players individually. To go 4,4,2 against them was either stupid or at the very least naive. We new Bale was playing well and we saw himplay against England recently so why didn't we have a plan? Spurs played in Europe so had less time to prepare we had a whole week! Anyway lets not focus on the 1 match, the point I want to make is that I am reading a lot on here about a good start but I dont see it? a shocking Arsenal and a wobbly Bolton thats it! Anway thats the rant over, i'll be at Brighton to watch them again and hopefully they will get better but lets not fool ourselves we have a hell of a lot to do to get into the top 4 this season. Anyway back to work now, got a meeting with my boss this afternoon and guess what? you got it he's a manc!

hey lfc fans.........

tottenham are ahead with the strength of their squad.......so as soon as we realise that...then it shouldnt be so painful to see the loss..

manchester utd
chelsea
man city
spurs
arsenal........ are all much better than liverpool after the sales of alonso, arboloa torres mascherano crouch benayoun babel.........

so we have to hope for the best when we play these teams.........u know its true..be realistic people

Babel was rubbish half the others engineered a move.

Yeah because babel, arbeloa and crouch were all amazing during their time with us. Look at torres missing open goals. The one player we do miss is alonso; we have creativty in midfield

Think everyone needs to take a deep breath.

How can people single out players for critism for yesterday? The strikers were deprived of any service due to being down to 10 then 9 men. Carroll played better yesterday than Saurez yet everyone is critizing Carroll? There is no Logic to the ranting. As for those moaning about the sale of Meireles did you not watch the Chelsea game yesterday? He was as bad as anything we had out.

Both sendings off were yellow card but neither of the first bookings were. Away to spurs is always a tough game doesnt help when the ref is waving cards round like a granny in Hallmark!

Get behind the lads instead of carrying on like Manc fans after a bad game.

I think Kenny should play a full strength team on Wed to install some confidence.

19 Sep 2011 12:54:27
Lucas and adam is the problem of Liverpool. they are too too too slow. at least adam tries to pass the ball forward and even tries to beat the opponent to create space in front him(sometimes he looses the ball). lucas always pass the ball simple ie either sideways or backpass and rarely forward. The engine is in the middle (look at Man U, reference as they are the champion, hard to say, they spread the ball to the wingers with great ease). We do not have a good play maker, we dont have technical players in the middle who can bring the small plus (man utd have/those who play there at least (they are well drill), know what to do.
We do have a good left winger(bellamy can play there) speedy forward (Suarez), A good right winger(downing can play there) a boy who can head the ball (Carroll). A good left back/right back(enrique-johnson). a good centre back (agger -coates). KK should play gerrard (when fit as our play maker, and insist with spearing (as benitez did with lucas) at least spearing plays with his heart and will become better and better provided he is given half the time lucas has been given.

LFC Budashow

Man U played with Anderson and Fletcher in the CM positions yesterday with Carrick coming off the bench so they are not blessed with great pace in the middle. What Man U have over not just us but most teams in the PL is confidence to play quick passing, attacking football. Playing with pace is not just about fast players running quickly with the ball, it is moving the ball quickly from one player to another - first time, one touch passing with good movement off the ball. Spurs had Parker and Kranjcar in their midfield, neither of which are pacey players but they moved the ball quickly and positively with intelligent movement off the ball while our midfield looked very static and sluggish.
We looked yesterday exactly like what we are; a team that has only played a few games together whereas Man U and Spurs have played lot's of games together and know each others game. A lack of midweek football really isn't helping this team gel together.
To be honest I am not expecting a massive performance increase against Brighton, confidence will be low from the Spurs game and with all the criticism the players are receiving plus changes due to suspensions and there is not much time on the training ground to work on the problems.

JRG

Lucas & Adam are both slower than: Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher, Parker, Modric etc etc. What is you point? The original poster was correct. Lucas does nothing and is like playing a man short. At least Adam has a decent left foot.

But hey, seems like us fans at LFC love 2nd best! Go Lucas!!

Would that be the same Lucas who was voted Liverpools player of the year last season? The same player that most people on here were calling world class last week?

If you are that unhappy with our players go and support someone else you unamed warrior!

JRG

Lucas was voted best player because others were playing without confidence.he played like usual, but all the other teammates was playing below their standard (2% of their capabilities compared to lucas 100%) because of Hogdson playing phylosophy. Go lucas ``3rd best`` you will be player of the year for blind people.
{Ed001's Note - you really have no idea about footie whatsoever.}

I cant believe all this media coverage about coles tackle on hernandez there was not a lot in it. What about the bad decisions we are getting nothing is being said.

I believe there is a media vendetta against Dalglish and the club. I just hope we have a siege mentality and stick together.

Mighty reds

Shame, poor us. Always getting the rough end. Maybe we should stop buying carp players and start playing better, then the ref won't matter.

Stop blaming the referees. Our squad is simply not good enough. Adam n carrol r no improvement on ngog, poulsen n meireles. We havent exactly improved frm last year.

Andy looked very fit against spurs and ran and covered ground a lot.
All of us whether with him or against him must realize that this young lad is very important to our sucess this season.
His support is very much needed to take goals scored load off suarez.
There were good signs against spurs regarding andy.we went to 9 men so any ways a striker can't be judged properly.

He must play against brighton with bellamy upfront bang some goals and get his confidence up.
What you think ed fair call?
Him playing with bellamy and suarez been given a rest.
Red indian
{Ed001's Note - Suarez clearly needs a break, he looked jaded yesterday, I would consider Kuyt with Bellamy myself.}

Then 'Big 35m Andy" cant score against Brighton.... what happens then? lol

His value soars to 50M

19 Sep 2011 12:43:29
What worries me is the seeming lack of fight for a ball. One instant saw Enrique and Adebayor go together an Enrique gave his all for the ball, inside the box but the desire for the ball was telling. We hardly closed the ball down at all yesterday and I don't want to Carroll bash but the lads meant to be a strong aggressive CF but gets thrown off a ball by a left back.

Teams like Everton and Utd go in full blooded for challenges like our Skipper used to but we need 11 players to battle that hard. Any predictions for points for Everton away Utd home?

19 Sep 2011 12:38:21
Charlie's second yellow was a joke... He was simply trying to clear the ball and could not see anyone coming behind him... The ref should have known that and just given him a warning... Terrible decision early on that ultimately changed the whole complexion of the game. We might have been able to "weather the storm" early on had Adam not been sent off...
YNWA USA

Personally I think the ref took that into account, and that is why he was only given a yellow for the foul, otherwise it could have been a straight red.
Maybe his first yellow card was a tad harsh, and the problem then was that the ref had set a standard which ment he had to keep dishing out cards, we were overrun and had to keep committing fouls to stop them, thus a lot of yellow cards.

dmedly

It is clear form the TV coverage that the ref only went to his pocket after being surrounded by all the Spurs players- surprise surprise the media missed that too!!

Want to say first Well done Spurs , they were excellent and taught us a lesson in pass amd move, before you start your rubbish im a LFC supporter and have been for 33 years and they were the better team on the day.

these games are character building games.KK hit it on the nail by saying that this will hurt the players and the Liverpool team of old were most prolific once they were hurting .I still believe that we are going to get a Champions league spot and finish higher then Spurs and Arsenal and maybe Chelsea .

Im looking for the reaction at the Wolves game and would prefer KK chooses the same 11 that way they can prove to us that it was a bad day at the office .It hurt to see them lose in this manner but one positive is that we played so so bad and lost , where as in the past we played at our best and still been out classed. The biggest worry was the lack of leadership on the pitch when we went to 10 men then 9 , it was heads down .We have a better squad then past years so changes are easily made.

This team is destined for great things but it will take another year or two along the way they will lose but when they click they will be awesome.

Lets not over analysis caroll , henderson etc but get behind our team as on their day they are amazing and if all else fails Gerard is back soon.

Keep living in dreamland mate. Henderson & Carroll on their day amazing.... pity day only comes once a year.

Need some of that stuff u on buddy.

Please, please, not the same team. Kuyt and Bellamy to give some energy and spirit. A proper right back. Spearing and Lucas in the middle. And Carra threatened with castration if he keeps f@@king passing the ball backwards.

On analysis of the Spurs game, I am sure all Liverpoolfans will feel depressed by it, our lads were well beaten, but that was to be expected after losing 2 players to red cards. The team is still settling down, let's not be too harsh in our criticisms, the season is long and many games still to be played. The positive thing is that the team is better, the best man (KK) is guiding it, and we can focus on domestic competitions, stay positive my fellow Reds, we will prevail. We are fans of the greatest team, we have a King to guide us.

Expect KD to make changes to team for Brighton, with Skrtel and Adam out. Likely to see Flannagan, Maxi, Bellamy, Coates and Gerrard. Hope they step up to the plate with good performances to stake a claim for sat game against wolves. From what I see in the game against spuds, couple of players could do with some time on the bench.

SingRed

Brighton are a very decent and organised team. It will be crazy to rest too many players as they are capable of an upset, just like Leeds are. I expect John Henry will want Liverpool to go all out for the League Cup this year. This is probably your only opportunity at silverware.

Sydney!

Skrtel and adam will prob play as they only have to serve a 3match band in pl fixtures. {Ed001's Note - they have a 1 match ban from any first team competitive match, according to the FA Handbook. That includes cup games.}

Hi Eds, any chance of renaming this site LFC Moaners and Big Girl's Blouses? The negativity is extraordinary. One bad performance, coupled with a card happy ref and the nutter brigade is out in force. Embarrassing to our great club.
Milamber

We have a great club but I would say that a 4-0 thrashing by a no more than average team is embarrasing. We just did not compete even before the sending off. We have the right to wonder why

That average team you speak of has been together for over 2 seasons and were in the CL, while we are still trying to work out our best team

Not a rumour, more of a comment on the return of Torres rumour. I have read all the replies to the latest whispers and have to wonder why so many people are hell-bent on making excuses for the former player.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the fully committed Torres of 3 years ago back at Anfield. However, to whinge on here that he was screwed over by Purslow, Waldorf and Statler is really stretching credibility.

Plenty of other players, with a more deep-lying passion for the club, could have jumped on the bandwagon and handed in transfer requests. The fact that Gerrard, Carragher, Reina, Kuyt et al didn't is eternally to their credit. To try to excuse Torres' behaviour is to disrespect those true Reds.

Torres disrespected KK, LFC and all of the fans and ultimately that should not be forgotten.

Who would buy Carra? Wouldn't get a game in any Prem team.

I would buy Carra

19 Sep 2011 12:23:16
Andy Carrol is once again a waste of money! He is not suited for pass & move football which suits LFC & what Kenny prefers. Every time Carroll is on the pitch we start either playing awfully with boring long pass football or Andy Carroll just wanders around the pitch doing nothing. Like it or not Carroll is a big hell of a mistake done by LFC in a hurry. He won't come good in hundred years time we need to sell him , time to search for a buyer may be City, Real Madrid or Inter Milan might want him. I would accept as less as 15-18million for him.

Henderson is a good player but he can't compete physically in the middle of the pitch against tough midfielders. Henderson needs to improve his physical side of the game. I would say i was surprised when i first heard LFC are close to signing Henderson, should have bought a right winger instead of him & kept Raul Meirrales.

Stewart Downing , Bellamy, Adam, Enrique, Coates & Doni are good signings am happy with them. Henderson for some extent if he can improve his physical side of the game. Sorry for Big Andy he is just not born to play for Liverpool & not suited for any team who plays fast flowing pass & move football.

Against Spurs Kenny should have started Bellamy & Kuyt instead of Henderson & Carroll.

Pretty worried about Kelly! thought he will be playing week nd week out as Glen is injured but the poor lad seems too injury prone. I certainly fear for his career.

Funny how 'non' Liverpool fans seem to be posting their views and opinions here. Don't these people have anything better to do with their time, or maybe they do not have gainful employment and too much time on their hands.

There is plenty of liverpoll fans go on other sites posting there views about other teams. So dont complain when it happens to you.

we really need some sort of creativity in our central midfield area even if gerrard is back. during the tottenham game that was what we lost. The central Midfield.

That lad at Chelsea, er...Meireles? He looks like he could do a job in your midfield. And he'd probably cost less than your current superstars - Henderson, Carroll. LOL.

Matthew... ;)

Dont worry matthew the best english midfielder ever to play in the prem , stevie g , is back soon.........lfc

For how long ?? hes passed it now !

He's passed it lots, but most of us don't think he's past it; not looked like it so far.

Oh dear, 5th or 6th in the league at best.

The quality is not there. Fenway obviously have a wages policy and that meant good-bye to Mireiles.
Rule No.1 Mr Henry, you don't sell quality players to the opposition. Remember the Heinze saga.

Comolli, sacked by Tottenham.
Kenny's record since he left Liverpool, one success with Blackburn, just after the relief at Mafekin.

Fenway and Mr Henry, you will have to do some buying and selling in January. Let a couple go, and move a very respected person upstairs.

Otherwise it's 5th or 6th.

The choice is your's.

This is typical anonymous rubbish.

Look, that even for i cant for the life of me work out why Adam started on the left hand side. Thats what f***ed his Rangers career up being stuck out their. No way in a million was that Ref gonna send Adam off till he was surrounded by Spurs players. I had respect for Scott Parker before this game, he came flyingn it as fast as he could, what was Adam to do, he never seen him coming wait for the ball to drop on edge of the area or try and clear it. Enrique best left back in Prem. Can i just say if Suarez or Carroll had missed the chance Torres did they'd be going on about how we need a poachar. If Suarez wants to keep getting booked for abusing refs he'll keep getting taken off. Its not Liverpools style. Re Carra, f*** me, he gave 100%, i cant keep defending these players. No need to play Downing on right to help Skertel out. Skertel might be quicker, might be better on the ball, but Carra has played a hell of a lot of games at right back and i would've gone with him to deal with Adebayor. Agger could have been one of Liverpools all time great centre halves. His injury record now his f***in ribs. Its more then unlucky. Sell him and get the Ajax centre half. Enoughs enough with him and injury's. Can anyone tell me the longest run of games he's had in a Liverpool side games wise without being injured. No more then 15 to 20 i reckon. How the f*** was Bale left free for the build up for the first goal. Was a joke. I thought Carra put in some big blocks and is it any wonder he never got out in time for last goal with a none stop barrages coming at him. Thought Coates besides a few nervy passes thought looked solid. The way he read a pass into feet then sent Parker flying with a push showed how strong he is. Why does Suarez have to take everything. Trying to chip in their. When its that close on that side its a left footers all day, a power strike off Carroll. A bender off Downing. Suarez as good as he is is pissin me off with his attitude when wearing the Red of Liverpool. Good job he never played for Forest under Clough he'd have been out on his ear for that s**t was he's doing re refs re off talent. Players are sacred to say owt to him, except Carroll, for all his critics, never stopped trying and gave 100% along with Enrique. With him being the only Liverpool player who's constantly at it at refs and lines men week in week out. I'll say it, all talent in world but when the going gets tough Suarez starts f***in moaning. He's started to belive his own hype. Good job we've got a REAL match winner coming back soon, one game has Suarez played well or come up with some magic to bring us back from the brink. Started to think he's not all he's cracked upto be. If he f***s off in Jan i wont lose any sleep over it his attitude stinks end of i hope he sorts it out soon, walking past K.K when he was taken off for his own safety of being sent off was the final straw for me. Jonson6

Are you out of your mind? Luis Suarez is one of only two world class players we have! He is getting more and more frustrated that his team mates are not on the same page as him. For me, it boils down to some very strange signings we have made since KK became manager. Suarez is here to win trophies. We are not his boyhood club, LFC is not in his blood, he simply wants to win things and is frustrated that, at present, we don't look good enough to do anything other than finish 5th. Tottenham are the best team we have played so far and we failed miserably.

As a relatively recent poster on this site and only finding it in mid summer i have occasionally posted but mainly read others always with interest as i firmly believe that a banter site should be just that, different views /opinions and also a bit of fun.
I have read jonson6 's every post.
At first i wasn't sure what side of the fence you sat on as in your opinion about the club and its policy and the direction it was taking.
I've got to tell you fella i am absolutely impressed by you and your views on LFC.
You say it as it is , aren't bothered about nameless other posters having a go. You always add value in my humble opinion to the debate and you don't have a problem with telling the team to pull their finger out . Above all you love the club.
So do i. I didn't agree with their selection , game plan (if there was one) nor some of the guys attitude ie Suarez.
Nobody is bigger than the club as you have said before.
I do though worry that Kenny got it so tactically wrong yesterday. It's not about losing one bad game , it's about the fact we were truly mullered. And we can't kid ourselves that is only going to happen once in a blue moon.
Do you have a view on us as a tactically smart side jonson6?
I think other teams see us as naive and they outwit us tactically.
It's ok saying we were unlucky against Stoke but we were never going to win that one as they played really narrow and compact and once they scored dug in like they can because we gave them something to go after. Bxxllks to the ref stuff.
Likewise most away fixtures leave me nervous. We will won't challenge for a top 4 whilst we can't regularly and consistently win away from home enough.
You make your own luck in every game and shouldn't be relying on a dodgy referee call or a goal line clearance.
We lack that savvy that the top four (i include Spuds in that) seem to have.
Anyways keep up the great posts and hope you are ok with another fellas points of view .
Ive followed the red boys since 1970 when they played Sheff Utd and won 3:1
And i always will follow em' and love them , but they don't always get things right and we fans should be able to voice our views on sites like this about their performance. It doesn't stop us supporting them!

What about the fact that Tottenham played you off the park , even before the fully justified red cards , take it like a man , you were beaten by a superior football team !!

Henry does not have 40 M to spare!

You want to seel Suarez- still worth a punt?

If if !!! You havnt a hope in hell of making champion league. Did Caroll move at all in the match.

Agree with u. He is better than ourentire midfield put together(barring stevie).

Sorry that came across a bit bitter, but I mean with the FFP rules coming in it will be impossible for Liverpool to spend anymore than they make in sales as your club will be running at a loss regardless of purchases.

Three players earned their salt yesterday - Enrique, Lucas and Reina (Reina stopped it being far worse than 4-0). The rest should be ashamed of themselves.

We now have a problem in that Agger has reverted back to his normal position - the sick list, and Skrtel will be suspended.

RED LENIN

Enrique should have stopped Defoe for the goal, Reina made a bad mistake and hasn't been at his best all season. Lucas did nothing all game and was overrun in CM like Adam. Nobody played well, I'm sorry.

Enrique did well to even catch up with Defoe, who took his goal very well. No-one else played well tho.

whats happened to pass and move and more to he point hard graft? that match was like a bad hodgeson game, anyone else got doubts about henderson, i have watched him since he signed and i get the impression he is going through the motions and doing his best NOT to get involved in our games, kenny bought him and has stuck by him but henderson and the way he is asking carroll to play is a big cause for worry, carroll is a target man and should be on the end of crosses in and around the box, why buy a player for 35 mill and then try to turn him into something else?
im not talking about the spurs game were carroll done his best filling in on the left, since signing for us carroll looks a mile off the player he was at newcastle, also skirtle should never ever be asked to play right back for us again, he is an average cb at best, carra refused to play there after having a few nightmares in that position under rafa, and we still have the same problem now WHY?, this brings me to carra i love the man, as a player and leader but this is his worse patch as a liverpool player two of spurs goals were played onside because of carra he looked terrified everytime he got the ball, never the best footballer he was definitely the best defender in the prem at one time, but he has lost his confidence, but it looks worse than that to me i think its time to jib it now carra, im not a manc or another blurt on the wind up iv watched my club since 1968 and ill be down in brighton on wednesday but i am very worried there are people with and near kenny who need to open there eyes and there mouths its decision time not a time for yes men kenny needs to be very strong its not all about being mr nice guy bob paisleys skids

not sure if this has already been mentioned but yesterdays game proved that adam and lucas aren't mobile enough to play as a two in midfield. And as a result that means carroll should be dropped to allow hendo or stevie g to complete a 3 man central midfield. Then put bellamy on the wing with downin and suarez up top. Anyone agree or disagree

Yep, i disagree

What ever about Adam , watched Lucas again and hes still a bad player!

When all fully fit 4-2-3-1 of:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Adam
Kuyt Gerrard Downing
Suarez

Henderson is a shadow of steven gerrard bat the same age and jus not up to the job in hand

With fully fit squad.. 4 3 3 reina johnson carra/coates agger enrique adam lucas/henderson GERRARD rw downng lw bellamy/suarez st suarez/carrol

I'm still scratching my head as to where our boys actually were yesterday afternoon. I'm very disappointed considering we've made such a great start to the season. I hope we put things right against Wolves this Saturday and that SG gets a run out on Wednesday night against Brighton.

I've never been a Skrtel fan - he is nowhere near good enough for Liverpool and Danniel Agger is a soft as my pocket...picking up yet another soft injury! This guy has played only 100 times for the club in 6 years - that is an awful ratio!

Coates like he'll bring not only a physical presence to the back for but also a touch of class too.

Hope we've had a minor blip and we can kick on again midweek.

Jonny Boy.

Morning Eds. Just a quick question. What is your opinion on Liverpools signings since Kenny has been in charge? Aside from Suarez and Enrique, I'm not sure they are good enough to take us to the next level. I have never been a Carroll fan, thought Adam was made to look good because of the players around him and too slow on the ball for the level we need and didn't really see enough of Sunderland to make an assessment. I still think we bought too many centre mids and still look unbalanced. What is your opinion? Cheers

Ash {Ed002's Note - He is building for the future and you are never going to please all of the fans. I don't want to get in to critiquing players for their skills or lack of them.}

Right, time to throw in my 2pence...

We were out played for 26mins or whatever it was. This happens, you can change a game round in time, and that could have happened if things had stayed equal. It didnt. Going down to ten men whilst the opposition already are out playing you is not going to help. The additional frustration meant that there was no comfort on the ball, people out-played themselves - they lost it too easy and we went down to 9.

These things happen very occasionally, we deserved to lose, but without the first sending off and an impact sub or two we could have changed things around. It wasn't a great day, but I'll accept it, as long as we use it as a spring board to improve dramatically. If ever there was a time for Gerrard to come back, it is after a result like that... onwards and upwards. I will not entertain any talk over spending or even considering another manager - give them all time.

Get behind the team 100% or go support another.

Just discovered who Sir Alex x really is!
Apparently we all thought he was the manager of man utd
No. Reds I am here to tell you he was spotted outside a primary school muckchester crying and blubbering for his mummy on his first day back at school.
He then let a little bit of wee wee come out of his trousers .
He was collected later by his mum and she took him home in his pushchair.
He is very bright for a ten year old and the teachers say that although very shy and not having any friends he loves computers and spends all day and then every evening up to his bed time ' being clever ' according to his mum and teachers.
Can all parents of children who know him ask their boys and girls not to beat him up or flush his head gown the toilets anymore .
Or.. Is he a teenage troll who lives With his mum and doesn't have a girlfriend ?
A Massive nob who lives in a fantasy world supporting man u AND city AND Barca AND Madrid all at the same time in the hope might find a friend this way?
Not sure myself...
Any other thoughts from posters as to his ( or her) true identity please let us all know.

All we know for sure is that he's not really a football fan
To all real reds if you spot him please do share your findings with other real fans on our site .
Might be a giggle ..

We win one game and we're gonna win the league. We lose one game and King Kenny and the team are sh!t. Where has the famous lfc support gone? Have any of u ever seen a lfc badge? Right underneath the shankly gates are the words every Liverpool supporter should live by: YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE. I know its hard to believe, but we wont win every game this season. We might even get battered now and again as we did yesterday thanks to a flawless spurs performance, but we as fans can and should stand together and support our team, through the highs and lows. That's what seperates this club from every single other club in the world. Remember things could be worse. H&G could still be in charge with roy as manager or you could be a sorry manc so obsessed with surpassing liverpool that you post on here more than you do your own page. We are liverpool and we are special. Who cares if yernited win 25 league titles and 10 european cups? They'll still never know what its like to support the greatest team ever. Thanks for reading.

I'm a passionate LFC supporter but must give props where it's due. Plus, I keep a keen eye on African footballers.

Adebayor has been a very smart signing for spurs. This guy has been tossed around the past couple of seasons but always puts in performances constantly trys to prove himself. Sure he scored when we were down to 9 men, but he did what was required of him.

I don't think he would fit into our squad, but we need someone with the desire to succeed like him.

We need our captain back. Desperately. {Ed001's Note - Adebayor only bothers when he has something to play for, he was terrible most of the time at Arsenal, lazy and lacked effort.}

Adebayor always starts strong for new clubs, Arsenal, Citeh, Real Madrid and now Spurs it wont last it never does with him..

I cant stand Adebayor...but he was good yesterday

cozinoz

Poster #2 there hit the nail on the head. Ade always starts strong, then gets the contract, pay rise or whatever and dials it in week after week until the management have had enuf. Citi seen it quicker than Arse did, and Real were the same. BTW whatever happened to that other guy who was good for 3 months, VanderVaart. Oh yeah, he's sh!t now

Really looking forward to Wed now and getting our season back on track. I do believe yesterdays result was a one off. Just hope Agger is ok. I can see a good win on wed and sat then ready for the bluenoses. I think stevie g will be a big plus for us and hopefully Kelly ready for sat.

I believe that Martin Kelly is a massive player for us now he is a great defender and he is good going forward lets hope he can stay fit do you agree eds?

Mighty reds

{Ed001's Note - Kelly will hopefully grow out of his injuries, if so he will be a great player.}

My opinion is that hamstrings are chronic injuries. They stay with a player. I think he needs to go to centre half, at some point, where he'll be less exposed.

My god that was awful! Andy Carroll what a joke at the moment lack of drive and needs a massive kick up the backside!! agger sorry to say could be a great defender but you have to play more than 5 games in a row! is there plans to buy a new defender Coates is more for the future but we lack pace and I love jamie but looking his age and one final thing why did jamie play centre when he has played right back a number of times and would have done a better job. Unhappy with results but things will turn around

It was a very very bad day at the office. The team really let us down. big time.

I am one of the supporters who really thought that we would go through the season without losing by such a big margin. Least of all to spurs. The stoke game was painful to watch but at least we played well, but just couldn't finish.

This game against spurs was terrible. We were lethargic and half asleep. After Modric scored, we became immature and rash. The person 'Arry got it right and after us going down to 10 and then 9 men, they easily took over the game. We looked really really bad. I couldn't believe it.

I guess I now realize that we are in the process of building a squad and far from the finished article. We have a long way to go and in the mean time we need to suffer the taunts from the other teams. Let them tease us: I support and love Liverpool FC regardless. It's really going to be painful especially with Man Utd performing well and being so flipping lucky.

Let's hope we really learn from this terrible display and put in a few good results. We have to win 5 out of the next 6 games:
Brighton, Wolves, Everton, Man Utd, Norwich, WBA.

I'd settle for a draw against Everton. The rest we will win.

As with all outher supporters, I will not be watching motd or any other football related shows this week. Neither will I be on this site. It's too painful.

king kenny has got to hold his hands up and admit he got it wrong at spurs ......we never closed down from the 1st minute and he should of played bellamy up front with suarez and dropped henderson for maxi to add a bit of experience ...then we could of played a bit deeper and hit spurs on the counter attack, also skrtel might of had a bit more protection ....as for carroll im getting worried now ....i dont think the lad wants to be here ...its like we got a completely different player who played for newcastle ...just no desire whatsoever ..........is he getting threats from the tyneside mafia ? who knows

Following on from earlier posts about Rafa.
His problem was that he felt he had to take on Parry and then try and expose H&G for what they were doing to the club.
He ultimately paid the price as we all know.
People complain about the sale of Alonso, but he was being forced to sell to raise funds to buy.
When he first went to sell him to buy Barry, Alonso had just come off a season and a half of injuries and not playing at all well.
He was a sellable asset that didn't really matter if he was replaced and at the time Barry was playing really well and linking nicely with gerrard for England. Maybe he was the logical choice.
For whatever reason, the Alonso sale didn't happen and he went on to have his best season ever.
Now though, he wanted to leave as he felt he wasn't wanted and we all know where he went.
I don't remember seeing a penny of the sale money being used to replace him.
Yes we ended up with Aquilani, but Rafa was forced to go for such a deal as he was not given the money to buy a decent replacement outright. It was a gamble and it ultimately failed.
Mascherano wanted out, refused to play and then left for less than he was worth. Torres wasn't happy about Rafa being sacked or Alonso and Mascherano leaving. He was going through his injury period and not performing - then noises about not being happy started coming out.
You could see that Gerrard & Carragher were no longer on his side and so alienated him more to the point that he left.
Then there was the disaster that was good old Roy - nothing needs to be said about his time here and I rate it as maybe the lowest point in the history of LFC for a very very long time.

All of the above can be taken back to H&G taking over the club.

We now have very decent owners and a stable structure to the club with top people in place. The manager will be backed in the purchase of the right players for the future of the club.

On this basis, I for one would love to have Rafa back at the club in the future, but only once KK eventually retires back upstairs.

Rafa could concentrate solely on the football. he would no longer need to worry about the owners, the board, the academy, any in-fighting and he would more than likely be able to buy all his first choice targets.

We've all seen the list(s) of the players that slipped through our fingers because H&G wouldn't give money or Parry would veto on whatever basis he felt right at the time.

We have been through a lot and are now in a place to build for sustained future success.

This season wasn't going to be winning the league. It was to try and get back into the Champions League with maybe a decent cup run too.

We have started better than last year and are fighting Spurs and Arsenal for 4th (behind the 2 Manchester clubs & Chelsea).

Arsenal are currently struggling, but will come good. Spurs have a very good squad and play some nice football.

Yesterday was just an off-day and we will still be there in the mix for 4th at the end of the season.

Have some faith people.

If we don't do well this season - it can be discussed when it's all over and the right decisions can be made then.

We haven't won or lost anything after 5 games.
Remember where we finished last year after being in or around the bottom 3.
Chelsea started brilliantly and were winning by 4 & 5 goals, but they tailed off.
What I'm trying to say is if you win a game it doesn't mean you will win the league and if you lose it doesn't mean you will be relegated as that is decided over the whole season and not on the basis of one result!! {Ed001's Note - I got bored when you tried to claim Rafa was playing politics purely for the club's sake. Utter and complete nonsense. I love Rafa as a person, a very nice guy, but he can't resist playing politics, he loves to get involved because he wants to control everything. The reason he failed was because he fell out with his right hand man - Pako Ayesteran - that left him with nothing but yes men.}

You forgot 96 people there mate ( worst point in are history ) .

No way forgot about the 96 and never will.
I did say the lowest point in a very long time - I didn't say the lowest point.
I'm talking from about the point that Souness took over.
The very short period of time that Roy was there was maybe the lowest we have been since KK left the club.
We came very close to going into administration and were flirting with relegation.
I'm trying to get people to have a bit of perspective.
I hate the current football supporting climate. Your team wins one week and they are the best and will win the league and then you get a defeat and it's all doom & gloom (this player needs to go, the manager should be sacked, owners made a mistake etc etc etc).

I agree with the first poster about Rafa. What a damn shame he isn't around now, either managing or assisting Kenny.

For the cheap seats, Aquilani and Johnson were brought in from clubs who owed us money, on the insistence of the ownership, which is why we got shafted over the price.

But, Rafa isn't here, and you know what? Nothing any of the so called fans whinging here will make a fkn blind bit of difference to what KK or anyone at LFC does. It has one simple effect, it makes all of us look like fkn woollies and bluenoses, and disrespects the club. So you may be hurting, you may be disgusted at Lucas or Carroll or Henderson, you may think Carra too old or KK not up to the job, but do you know what you can do about it? Keep it to yourself, cos we don't fkn wanna hear it

A man is measured not by his defeats but by how he responds to them and stands up and be counted.

We can't change past. Those players that are currently playing for club are our players.
They all must realize that it is an honour to wear the LFC shirt.
I love my club may be yesterday after defeat some of us including me went too much negative but I can assure those who criticise also love the club.

Our new players must realize that they now don't play for blackpool, sunderland or newcastle they play for 5 times european champions.
They have to earn the respect like carra did, love like steve earned and through shear determination to suceed earn praise like lucas does.

We all fans want our club to be sucess just hear voices of those reds who after being 4-0 down were still singing YNWA.

Most of all earn the red shirt and stand for it.
Trust me we all will stand by you.
Through thick and thin always will be a red.

The 3 main things we learnt from yesterday

1. Srktel is NOT a rightback, (why didn't we play robinson?)
2. Henderson is NOT the answer for right midfield

3. We NEED Gerrard back asap

Does anyone know if the red cards start for the CC game? I just hope KK doesn't play the same team to "get the bad result out of the system"

I know its only one bad performance and hope it won't happen again as I don't want to read of hear the doom and gloom comments but surely KK must see he needs to make some changes before the fans get on players backs ie Henderson.

He needs "resting" or dropping, bring Gerrard, Bellamy and Kuyt back in for their enegry and skill.

I would like to see the following played on Wednesday and or Saturday (assuming Agger's unfit)

Reina
Kelly Carra Coates Enrqiue
Lucas
Gerrard
Kuyt Suarez Bellamy/Downing
Carroll {Ed001's Note - bans apply to the next FTCM (first team competitive match) which includes both cup competitions.}

I agree there was no pace or energy in that team at all

We lost yesterday for three reasons...
1, Not enough shots on goal.
2, Skrtel is not a right back.
3, Spurs played the game like a cup final, and were better than us.
U play players out of position then your gonna either lose of have that player sent off because the're not used to playing in that position, and thats what happened.
Draw a line under it and move on, and stop slagging the players and manager off. If you can't move on then sod off and support another club.

Sooty

I would say the three reasons were:

1) Agree with your Number 2 about Skrtel
2) Dirk should have played, at least he would have helped out with Bale unlike Henderson
3) When ever we start with Carroll we play poorly!

And to be fair Modric and Parker were top class!

I would like to point out that the continued use of Jordan Henderson is a big mistake, Spero always on the bench and having been the best defensive combo with Lucas. The boy is always out of position, cannot tackle and always leaves his man.
Downing was always instructing the defence and doing nothing else, why is Kuyt, Spero and Maxi always on the bench, I would not blame Skartel, he played out of position. Lets be fair, KK needs to sort out the selection.

I think it is about time we have a sub-banter room. The edds have created all these new banter pages but i suggest you create a page where the edds paste in peoples names and comments in regards to kk and our buys. I for one struggled to defend Hendo and Carroll yesterday, although a lot of fans seem to be changing like the wind. Not sure how you would do it but i think if we had whingers/moaners page that peoples names were on they would not only think twice but when (not if) we start gelling and playing as team the same doom mongers can get treatment that kenny and players are now getting, as i bet a pound to a penny they'll then say they've always had faith. 2 games ago we challenging for title, now look out its relegation. ven if you just put names on list edds be great.

fsg should replace kenny dalglish by martin o'neill

Don't be stupid. Go and support some other crappy team then.

What because of one game? Your entitled to your opinion but I strongly disagree.

Someone on here commented the other day and said "some fans on here should try looking up the word support" Yes we're angry with the team, but people seem to forget that we were only 1-0 down. Not taking anything away from Spurs, they started the better team and the goal was unstoppable. Two red cards, 1-0 down, away to a good side, what was everyone expecting a point?

I don't think that will happen again anytime soon. Calling for Kenny to be sacked over one bad performance is just outrageous. Give him a chance to correct the mistake. Judge him after 10 games.

19 Sep 2011 06:35:50
replace carragher by coates and agger by coady

As if that knee jerk reaction will be the fix to all problems!

Coady is not a defender {Ed001's Note - Coady has played centre back numerous times, though I do agree it is not his best position.}

19 Sep 2011 06:27:55
We had Gerrard, Meireles, Cole, Aqualani, Lucas to play in middle.

Now we are left with Gerrard, Lucas and Adam..
so we are thin in centre mid, if we move henderson there Rigth Mid..

We need 1 one player...

ED...First great workkand great site...

Saw the match yesterday against spurs...Awefull the worst performance ever by pool...
ed I hope u have enough knowledge in the formation of the squad and other stuffs...

Have we really wasted 55 million in Henderson anad Carrol?? People say its for long term...but If we dont qualify for CL (Very Difficult seeing us play last night)..we will loose players..and we cant complain...
I mean y on earth KK changed the Formation??
4-2-3-1 was going really well..Do you think henderson is better than Kuyt???
Now KK will feel the pain of leaving aqua and Meireles...and now..pls dont complain meireles..if u promise him for a pay rise..u need to give...he is a quality player..
I am sure..he will win something with Chelsea....
we for sure are not gonna win anything in anotehr 2-3 years...

I think we are battling it with Gunners for the worst 4th spot...

People say money cant buy u success...
to everyone..its gonna be either utd or city who will win title this season...
Money will give u the players..and if u have a kool manager..it will eventually give u success..

we have spent over 100million and still conceeded 4 goals...

i wish if it was rafa and 100 million..(which he never got)..we would have never let torres go..and we would have won something.......

YNWA

You say we have soent 100 millions and conceded 4 goals.
With 11v11 it was only 1 nil. The remaining 3 goals were after we were down to 10 & 9 men.
Doesn't matter how much your team cost, you are going to concede a lot of goals playing with 9 men.

Is the current season already finished? So how can you say rafa would have won ...Torres never wanted to be here ffs. look at rafa`s websidte, he admitted that he should have gone for quality instead of quantity(instead of buying 3 mediocre player he could have bought 1 quality player and keep players like warnock/murphy ect). during his time there were better players available (which you can`t deny) for less money but it was his choice which preavailed not Hicks or gillet, they knew nothing about players , only money +before Hick and gillet.
So give KK some time , he will shut you all. rafa persist with lucas at the expense/cost of the team and other players for 3-5 years, no one yelled, but when KK wants his signing to gel with others and know his phylosophy of how to play everyone is on his back. i admit that he should stop playing players out of position like the fat waiter but again we should give him time with his players. it`s only 8-9 months that he is here. it`s only tottenham that we have played badly this season (2 players send off, so it was obvious) even if there were no sending off, who knows in the second half liverpool would have beaten Tottenham, no one knows, so how can you...

19 Sep 2011 02:34:37
i was expecting to go the entire season undefeated, it's shameful that a football team can lose 2 games, just shameful...

WAKE UP PEOPLE, we can't win every game, now there are posts on here slating Kenny for the loss to spurs, for christs sake, sometimes you're just out-played. This season is to build a future for the club, we may come 2nd, we may come 11th, but we have to rebuild and that takes time, we bought young players in for this reason alone, not for resale, but for the future. As the saying goes, it won't happen overnight, but it will happen!, although we were very heavily fingered by spurs, it happens, fans need to move on because i know kenny and the players will be doing just that...

El juego del mundo.

Wake up,mate. We have been building for the future for the last twenty years!! And the title is still elusive. We have not been consistent for a long time. While Chelsea and now Man City have been spending to improve and Man Utd have been bringing in Young players from their Academy, we bought average players at inflated prices. As you said it may not happen overnight, but we are sick of this inconsistent display by the players for the past 20 years. We now have Man City, Spurs ahead of us apart from Chelsea and Man Utd. If we continue to buy average players and display the inconsistencies in our games, we may soon become one of the mid table teams. And yes some of you may say we are only into our 5th game but judging from the display we dished out in the Stoke and Spur's game, we are still a long long way from being top 4 let alone winning the title. KK is no longer the same manager 20 years ago when he left us.

19 Sep 2011 01:16:39
today could be a blessing in disguise, we will now see
coates play and the who will gerrard replace question is easy to answer. I do think with lucus out there you can be agreesive with everyone else ( bellamy, squarez, gerrard, downing can all get forward.
and yes torres missed a sitter today, but he looked great on his running off the ball, looks to have his legs back with his acceleration. I would take him back, trust me he will come good. dont think chelsea will move him, he was there most dangerous player, and while the miss was terrible, his goal was torres of 2 years ago.

The great run and the beautiful footwork to get around the keeper were 2 positives for him to take. The miss means nothing, that was the easy part. So credit where credit's due to the lad.

It was hard to watch my beloved Liverpool swept aside by Spurs, but I take some comfort in knowing that these things do happen. Honestly Spurs had us on the back foot from the kickoff they were more clinical and dynamic in their play. I can't quite work out why the team performed so badly but have faith that things will improve.
36 Years a Fan, and always Proud!.

I can tell you why your "team performed so badly".

You didn't have a good squad at the end of last season, and you haven't improved your squad in the summer. You have added average players for inflated transfer fees.

Henderson is worth 10m, you paid 20m, Adam is worth 2m, you paid 8m, Carroll is worth 12m, you paid 35m, Dowling is worth 13m, you paid 18m. They just ain't good enough if you want to improve!

You sold Meiriles, your best CM.

What don't you understand?

Suarez is OK, but would he get into United, City or Chelsea's first 11?..unlikely.

All the best though!

Sir Alex x

It's time to face the reality and truth. We can fool ourselves by saying things are going to get better and it is still too early in the season. Give the lads time to gel and so on....We bought average players at inflated prices and sold our better players in the past. KK can blame the ref for making unfair decisions but the truth is we can't defend well, the midfield is not making passes like Alonso to the forwards. Apart from Suarez, the other forwards are a big joke. Yes Kuyt can run like Duracell bunnies and Carroll has the height and strength but can they can outfox the opponents' defences? With Carra and Skrtel as defenders, I pity Reina. Yes go on and be optimistic and hope that things will get better. If we keep buying average players at overinflated prices, our dream will continue indefinitely and players like Reina and Suarez will play elsewhere.

Bla bla bla xxxxxxxxxxx

Lmfao suarez is OK? didnt he nut meg like 3 of your players last time we played ... we lost because tottencrap out played us pointblank. if chelsea would have scored all their chances you would have lost

Lol the fact that you think Meireles was our best CM shows you should stick to talking about your own club. D*ckhead

cozinoz

You mean the same Suarez who is wanted by Barca and Real Madrid? You know the two clubs who kick you ass everytime. Oh and talk about over inflated prices, how much did you pay for Anderson? How about Berbatov? De Gea? Jones? Think who you've overpaid for then you should realise how invalid your arguement is, but then again I wouldn't expect that you would even be able to count to 10

"if chelsea would have scored all their chances you would have lost"

Can't understand how that happens mate Chelsea missed 2 chances that could or rather should have been scored of. That still makes the score 3-3 ( I suppose it's a draw but foolish lfc fans think it's a win)
Also Rooney missed a penalty and hit the bar once so did nani and berba had a open goal to score but for rooney's over hit pass. So chelsea still lose u idiot.
Also i'll like to mention 2 scorelines may be u will remeber something
1.3-0
2.5-1
Remember something losers.

Red Devil

Saurez ok.... Haha.... Wotta tube.. If I remember rightly, 2 of your goals were offside and the other was a really dodgy penalty shout.. Stick to your own site, when we need advice on red wine we'll give you a shout.

Myk

If spurs out played you, you referred to them as tottencrap? What does their mauling of you make liverpool? Silly boy

I'm usually not a negative fan but I'm feeling pretty negative today. We looked streets behind Spurs. Hopefully it was just a bad day but some of the players in the squad haven't been completely convincing this season. I'm talking here not about Adam (even though he looked out of his depth today he's had good moments in other games) but about Carroll and Henderson. We've been commending the owners for being willing to spend big money and the fees for Carroll and Henderson have been 2 that at first glance seem to have shown a willingness to spend money. However, for about 12million more we could have signed Aguero and Mata in their stead, two players who look more confident and more technically adept. So what's going on, why didn't we even make offers? Is it that Kenny and the scouts genuinely thought Carroll and Henderson are better players? Perhaps, and maybe first impressions are wrong and they will turn out to be inspired signings. But it seems far more likely to me that we have been looking to sign players who will sign long contracts for low wages. Aguero's wages must be about 3 times the size of Carroll's; the same with Mata's in comparison to Henderson's. Over the course of 5 years that costs the owners millions. I really hope that I'm wrong and that the owners really are as committed to rebuilding the team as we are. But I'm worried that we're only willing to sign players to long-term deals if they'll be on fairly low wages and as a result we may fall behind Spurs

Red Ollie

Because the owners aren't technically dipping into their pockets. They will break even by the end of the season and then enjoy a lower wage bill and enhanced profits.

Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam's combined wage is approximately half that of Torress, Cole, Jovanovich, Mascherano and Aqualani combined. Our most creative midfielder had the cheek to ask for a pay rise and look what happened to him.

I am concerned that when we don't play as a unit we look decidedly average. Suarez isn't an out and out goal scorer, he comes to deep for that role. I don't see where Gerrard will fit in when fit. Its pointless playing him on the right as he's to indisciplined. The balance of the team isn't right and we don't have quality in depth up front.

Carroll just isn't cutting it. He can't even run with the ball. He takes a minute to get it on the outside of his left foot. Its painful to watch. If Kenny thinks he can work with what Carroll has in his locker, he's sadly mistaken as he's a one trick pony who left the trick back in Newcastle.

Back to the drawing board, no improvement on the pitch from last season whatsoever just an improvement on the balance sheet from the wage savings. Mid table mediocracy.

Ozone

And what is so wrong with tackling the balance sheet first, the one thing that almost crippled Liverpool under H & G, without their business acumen we could have been playing in the Championship now if at all, that's how close we were to going under.

Get the finances in shape and then go from there. I want a team and a club fir the future not one looking over their shoulder wondering when the rug is gonna be pulled and the money dries up

Why is the name Rafa, being used on here for god sake. What do you expect from kenny, Rome wasn't built over night and nor will be Liverpool's return to glory. The player all need time to settle into the Liverpool way and so do the management team.

Just how many points did we have this stage last season and just how many points were we a draft from a Europe spot at the end of the season, things will come good just needs time and for all of us Liverpool fans to behind the team rather then stab them in the back.

Stand up and be counted!

DB YNWA

I can't remember how many points Liverpool were "a draft" from europe. My guess is too many!

As DB YNWA says, on behalf of Liverpool supporters, I will take the lead and "stand up and be counted"....your team is not very good!

But I love you all!

Sir Alex x

Sir Alex, get to sleep you have play group in the morning!
