Hey eds gettin sick of all the Lucas Haters on this site i thought this was a site for true fans

On the argument of poulsen and kanchesky gettin stick i think you'll find Lucas was in a similar position but rafa new his quality would shine thru and he has won over many fans in the last two years with his play as DM i for one would think that we would be in a far worse position this season if Lucas had sustained a long term injury early on in the season.
Also you have to admire him for his commitment to the club came here as capt. of brazil U21's with rave reviews and was then put in the team as a dm which was totally alien to the way he was brought up and eventually he has turned into our most consistent players of the last 2 seasons.

Liverpool need a right-winger, a left-winger and a holding midfield player.

Adam Johnson

Ashley Young

Charlie Adam

Jose Enrique

If these were the only signings LFC do this summer, it would be a good transfer window.

Stick Benega or Defour in there mate instead of Adam. And a young striker like Wickham or Canales, i'd be more than happy.

Alright Ed, what do you think will happen with Glen Johnson?
I don't mean in terms of a transfer, becuase im sure we'll have a left back on our shortlist and Kelly is doing so well on the right. Would Kelly move more centrally?

Any other opinions are welcome!
Thanks
Stu {Ed002's Note - I am not sure there is an issue Stu. Liverpool have a squad not a team.}

Hi eds,
I was rightly rebuked on this site the other day for arguing that Hazard is strictly a central attacking midfielder. I've done more research and have seen him play well on the wings of 4-3-3 formation.
Do you believe it is the way forwars to have central attacking midfielders (who also play well on the wings) - like Hazard and Turan employed as wingers? Or should we look for natural wingers, like Downing?
Thanks.

kalashnikov {Ed001's Note - to get the best out of Carroll I would say we would be better off with out and out wingers myself. We need good quality crossing from the flanks to force the defence to concentrate on them and enable us to put the ball into his feet.}

I refuse to continue bantering with you, you have shown yourself to be puerile, there are a lot of great people on this site which is what makes it so interesting and fun, but unfortunately there are some that act like children and start name calling when they feel they are losing an argument, you need to grow up and learn to discuss issues in an educated and respectful manner!

7 coming in 9 going out

baines isn't coming in, this ones got about as much chance as messi coming in, they won't sell to us, end of,

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
end of what?? ?, nando proved that any player has his price mate so a cash strapped club with no real prospects won't consider selling their left back? have a word! i firmly believe we will get him and i think 12 mill would do the trick. what do you think ed? if liverpool wanted him how much would prize him away and do you rate the player?

Jay Mc {Ed001's Note - I think they could find someone else who would pay as much, so why sell to us? I don't think it is likely, shame because he is an excellent left back.}

Ed any intrest in willan or banega and how much would they cost {Ed001's Note - not that I know of and I have no idea on the other but Banega would probably cost less than 10m.}

sounds like a BATMAN BARGAIN! !

Roy Hodgson saga.
The thing with Roy is he claims he never had a chance.
Well 50% of fans stood by your appointment, then 40% of them turned against you. The reasons for this was the football was absolutely dire, the players confidence was low, we had our worst run in 50 odd years, signings were poor, ambition lacked, press conferences were mumbling then their was the remarks. "draws was good" etc etc. Then the Torres Ferguson saga. The pure lack of player support. The old fashioned training.
It wasn't the fans it was the FACT you arnt good enough.
Dalglish with the same players has made huge strides, so much so that if he was in charge from the begining then we would be amongst the top 4 battle now. Infact under Benitez we would be there now.
All those who wanted Hodgson because of a decent cup run, you should hang your heads in shame and your partly to blame for this season.

01 Apr 2011 21:51:22
I think the people who can't see the improvement in Lucas, don't want too admit they could have been wrong.He gives too many fouls away.What about Carra? He fouls every tackle he makes these days, but they both give 110% so they both should be appreciated.I think Lucas has improved his defensive side of his game. but I also think we will see the best of him if he had a Gago behind him and the shackles were taken off.Look at the Everton game.The first half Lucas dictated the whole attacking play. it was only when Moyes changed it at half time putting Osman on Lucas pushing him on the back foot that Everton got back in the game. Moyes came out and actually said that , Lucas was running the show so he change it at half time. Lucas will only get better.

Lucas also became the youngest player ever to receive Placar magazine's Bola de Ouro (Golden Ball), given to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro an honour previously won by the likes of Zico, Falc o, Careca, Alex, Romario, Kak and T vez.

Highly rated by Kenny Dalglish, Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson, Mano Menezes and the Liverpool players (ED said yesterday), but and a big BUT, a few guys on Liverpool-Rumours (that, as they claim are very knowledgable) don't agree!

Who's right- - Who's wrong?? ?? LOL

Just want to ask why people are so loyal to Lucas and claim to be true reds because they do, yet slag off Poulson who hasn't really been given a chance and who hounded Konchesky out of the club after also not being given much of a chance? Stinks of double standards and two facedness

Lucas Leiva has made more tackles (125) than any other player in the division. Essential.

Does it count as a tackle when he is caught in possesion and sticks a leg out to foul the player who he lost the ball too?

Save the defence Blair, poster above is right except we take bets on either him falling over clumsily changing direction with no-one near or getting easily pushed off the ball and falling over. I am fit and have no skill but big heart, can lfc give me a contract? ha ha . Some lfc fans have no clue, that's why we not in europe next year.

Bonkasisacul
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
We will probably not be in Europe for 1 reason Bonk (Roy Hodgson). If you can't see that he was the problem, then it's you who hasn't got a clue mate.

Do you think it's a coincidence that when Roy got sacked and Kenny was put in charge, that we have accumulated the most points, since the managerial change? Do you think it's a coincidence that when Roy got sacked and we got a new manager, that all the players are playing better now?

Your saying he gets "easily pushed of the ball" other people say "he gives away stupid free kicks". So what is it? He "gets easily pushed off the ball, while giving stupid free kicks away" The lad can't do anything right in some people's opinion. Then again not everyone is right in thier opinions (even me).

Your right mate, some fans are clueless, some idiots even blame the fact that we're not in Europe next year on one player! Can you believe that??

There was was an even bigger idiot yesterday that judged the quality of players based on the amount of other teams that wanted to buy him?

Some even think they have more knowledge than KK and Menezes! Hard to believe but sadly true, but hey, we can't all understand the beautiful game can we?

- - - - - - - - - -

Double standards? You're a fool, mate. I'm not keen to get involved in this tiresome Lucas debate, but Lucas is a good player. If he was up for sale he would be sold for in excess of £13m and their would be teams lining up to take him. He distributes the ball well, gets stuck into the opposition, chases the ball (unlike Gerrard) and is still 24.

The point at which your post loses all credibility is when you defend Poulsen and Konchesky - arguably two of the worst players to ever pull on the LFC shirt in the last 30 years. Yes, worse than Mellor, Dundee, Speedie, Degen and all the other hapless non-talents that were lucky enough to make a living out of being crap at a sport.
Poulsen is a defensive midfidler who can't tackle, pass, look forward, kick the ball in a straight line, head the ball, shoulder an opponent without fouling them or even manage to stay in the right position - as shown when he has suddenly decided to play centre-half at times this season. He also earns ridiculous amounts and is behind the likes of Coady and Spearing in development, despite being older by 12 and 8 years respectively.

Konchesky was the victim of a 'witch-hunt', as you so bluntly put it, because in addition to being the worst left-back the club has ever witnessed he was unresponsive towards his critics and he certainly wasn't helped by his mum attacking the club and it's fans. He was a shocking, shocking player; just think we could have got Salcido for £2m less and still had 2 youngsters, as well as a competent, natural left-back.

Any ideas who we gonna get to replace reina when he goes in the summer. if theres is one thing we can be certain of it is that reina's days at lfc are numbered. dalglish wants rid of all the spaniards that benitez brought in and won't stand for anyone telling him and the club what it needs. reina has started to say if we don't get investment im off and all this so its see ya later then pepe. we are going to invest heavily, but we don't need you to making demands.

It always pays to do your homework before you post. Stops you making assumptions and inaccurate judgements.
Gavin Laws CITED MUFC's signing of Park Ji-Sung as an example of one way of connecting with the Asian market. He did NOT say that was how to do it. There is more than one way.
He also DID not say that it was priority. He merely suggested that it would make good business sense and something I wrote about this morning and agree fully with.

Steve Parker
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Steve do you fully agree with Mr Laws when he said we were "a mid-table team" mate?

I'm wondering why Mr Laws even has to say anything? I never once heard Carlsberg or Crown Paints ever talk about the team. The club yes but the team/ players no.

In short Steve i don't think it's any of Mr Laws buisness who we sign. Does this mean if Standard Chartered like a player from Asia, we sign him? IF so they can take their money and f*ck off mate. They are a bank not football scouts.

I have just listened to the rafa interview with sky and i was suprised to learn that we were following Jovetic, Malouda and Alves at one point around 2 and a half years ago. Right now i think we should continue rafas interest in Jovetic because i believe that he would add width to the eam and provide a creative spark to our midfield. What do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - not seen enough to judge him, though what I saw looked very good to be fair.}

Alright eds.

What are the chances of us signing Stevan Jovetic in the summer?

He's a class act - young, can play in the mid, out wide or as a forward and with some of the rumours bandied about were obviously scouting alot of Italian football. I reckon he'd be perfectly suited to the prem and reckon he'd be available for 12-15 mil.

I'm so sick of reading about Roy the hedgehogs constant bickering about kenny and the fans.kenny never said a bad word about him and has praised him on numerous occasions jus proves who's the better and bigger man for our club.
He needs to understand a few things
1. Kenny is a winner and always has been, player or manager, liverpool or Blackburn it doesn't matter. Hedgehog is always been mediocre relegation style ruined Blackburn and nearly ruined us.
2. And ed002 is fully backing this point(sarcasm before I get slated) we are the greatest fans in the world, we never took to him because he was ruining us from day 1. Konchesky, poulsen- we didn't see utd or Chelsea lining up to sign them oh ya and he's bum buddies with brandy nose in mancland.
so kenny and the lads I hope ye are well prepared and dust the s**t of hedgehog and his crew Tom.

That was unnecessary. He works his arse off for us and even when playing out of position, he plays well. It's people like you who ruin the club. And quite rightly he's been given a new contract and I feel he will be the one to replace Gerrard in the long term, no not Charlie Adam, who IMO is very overrated. He will excel even more in the Gerrard position and perhaps Gerrard should step back into the Holding position now until summer, when we hope to get someone like Javi Martinez or Banega for that role. What do you think on this matter Ed?

maka {Ed002's Note - I have said on numerous occasions that it seems necessary for the fans to maintain a hate figure at all times - if Maxi plas and has a bad game it will be him next week.}

The Standard Chartered deal was based on the LFC footprint as of Jan-June 2010. With New ownership, zero debt, KK and a return to the Liverpool way, Standard Charter are "nudging" LFC to go after Asian players so they can gain bigger exposure in the Asian market. They are willing to re-up their sponsorship deal with the club if this exposure happens. It will potentially be the biggest sponsorship in the history of the EPL, so its a win win for both sides. They see our return to greatness as a vehicle to make them the worlds largest financial entity. Ian Ayre, DC and KK will make this happen.

As long as an Asian player is good enough to play for the team it makes very good economic sense to buy one.

"Re Standard Charted
I thought Steve Parker's post today made a lot of sense, but I don't think a club sponsor (I might be wrong) have publicly spoken in this way, what nationality of players, and Mr Dalglish ongoing contract talks or not.I do feel a slight flexing of muscles by our sponsors or a little nudge.
Redeyedhector"

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Fair point.
Trouble is, this next 12 months will see a little more of this nudging you speak of.
We are not used in the UK football world to seeing or dealing with this sort of 'interference.'
It is common in the US and in Grand Prix racing, the people who pay the big money have a great deal of sway in some areas - selection of drivers and livery.
We will find that if we take the money, we will have to have some leaning the way of the giver.
I know it's not what we see as the way to run old style clubs, but in this new financial world it makes sense.
Standard Chartered are very big, wealthy and influential. They have contacts and want exposure.
I see little wrong with that.
We signed away any right to moan about corporate partnerships when we took on our first shirt sponsors.
The Standard Chartered words fill me with hope - not despair.

Thanks

Apparantley he has suffered a setback, not sure how bad but has extended his return to trsining time unfortunatley. We have been unlucky with injuries to Kelly and Shelvey as they were doing well especially Kelly. {Ed001's Note - yes, but he was due back in about ten days, I was told the setback was going to set him back a couple of weeks, which would still mean he would be back this month wouldn't it?}

Manchester United have gone broke. They are in £1billion debt. and are soon to be liquidated.
This means that they won't break our record of EPL titles.

But sadly its April fools day.
But if Carlsberg did April fools jokes, they'd probably be the best jokes in the world.

Re Standard Charted
I thought Steve Parker's post today made a lot of sense, but I don't think a club sponsor (I might be wrong) have publicly spoken in this way, what nationality of players, and Mr Dalglish ongoing contract talks or not.I do feel a slight flexing of muscles by our sponsors or a little nudge.

I have no problem with Standard Chartered hoping for us to sign some Asian players, the only problem I have is that they have said this in the press. One article I have read says that they made checks on out code of conduct to ensure that they align Standard Chartered's, but going out in the press making suggestions about potential signings is not the Liverpool Way.
I was in Singapore in 2009, when we toured Asia, there was a massive buzz in the country, I was unable to get a ticket for the match as it had sold out pretty much as soon as tickets went on sale. Breaking into the emerging Asian and African markets will serve us in the future development of our club.

Should Standard Chartered really be talking in the press about targeting Asian players? There are a few good players out there, Keisuke Honda - CSKA (AM), Park Chu-Yong - Monaco (ST), Shinji Kagawa - Dortmund (AM), Youto Nagatomo - Inter(D L/ R) are players who could be very good for us. Whether they would come is a different matter. Honda was supposedly joining in every transfer window since the WC, Not sure about Chu-Yong, Kagawa is having a fantastic season at Dortmund and in CL next year and Nagatomo is on loan to Inter who i'm sure have 1st option on him.

Read steve parkers stuff this morning m8. he says why they shud be telling us that.

Right guys I know we have all put Torres behind us and I don't want to be the pain that brings him up again but after reading that he will be performing a ritual at the bridge with a goat, I have to say something. Apparently he will parade the goat around the pitch and then let it do it's buisness in both of the goals( to rid the bad spirits from blocking his shots) then it will take a tour of the trophy room befor being sacraficed?? WTF. Has this boy completely lost his marbles, I thought Chelsea would be the end of him but never did I wish insanity on him!

Breaking reports have surfaced that Chelsea s new misfiring number nine Fernando Torres is reportedly planning a summer return to Liverpool Football Club.

A spokesperson for Chelsea said, Fernando has expressed a desire to leave the club for pastures old and has indicated that Liverpool is to be his destination of choice, his agent has told us that he s not happy and the main reason being that he s upset about the amount of traffic within London s city centre which makes shopping for hair dye a ******* nightmare.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has told Liverpool Football Club that if they wish to resign the Spaniard that an offer of £11,000,000 will be the minimum that they expect in regards to an initial fee. Sky Sports News managed to speak to a CFC (Chelski Fan Club) spokesman about the shocking breaking news. Super fan Sep Blatter said, To be honest its a huge blow, he was one of the most attractive members of the side and had increased female attendance figures dramatically, with players like John Terry and Ashley Cole now once again at the forefront of our female sex appeal, figures are likely to take a huge downward swing almost immediately.

Torres has scored 0 goals in 8 games since his January transfer from Merseyside providing an impressive goal scoring ratio of 0 in 8

Happy April Fool's day to you all!

I know the JM thing was a joke and that but if i had to pick between him and the King, it has to be Dalglish! If you put Jose in charge of a bad team say the likes of Spurs! He wouldn't win anything with them. Wherever Jose has managed since leaving Porto there's always been an abundance of money available to him. The only thing he will have a chance of winning this year is the Copa Del Rey, then he will be off to someone like City who will spend stupid money on a poser. I for one hope that Jose never ever manages LFC! !

Anyone moaning at any of the Ed's that their April Fools joke was in bad taste is obviously one of those who fell for it.
The site won't lose readers or posters, because there is no where else to go, all the other sites did it too, and besides we all need humour.
I seriously think some of the people who come on here need to lighten up, it was a well performed act, it is not the Ed's fault if you fell for it.
Its like you ringing up the daily star and having a go that the page 3 girls breats are fake, but you dont, because it doesn't matter.
Well done Eds, most of us appreciate the effort you put in to this stunt, and i for one think that any site that doesn't take itself too seriously and is willing to have a good laugh with the punters is a winner in my book, also believe that everyone who was calliing for KK's head because of the rumour should take a long hard look at themselves!

Anfield Andy

P.S. Anyone who would put a bet on a rumour that they heard somehwere is risking losing their money, regardless of whether or not it was a joke. They can't blame the giver of the rumour, as they did not make the receiver believe it, the receiver did that for themselves.

PRESS RELEASE

APRIL 1, 2011

For Immediate Release

Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds wish to formally provide notification that the Anfield club shop has run out of the letters E and D and the numbers zero and two following this morning s unprecedented rush on Liverpool first team shirts with ED002 printed on the back.

When asked how she felt about all of this attention, Ed002 replied that she saw it as a real blast that the Liverpool fans have taken to me.

Her father and mother (Jose and Alexis) were reported to be looking forward to moving to Liverpool and settling their young boys (Neymar and Eden) in to a local school.

Cease

Kenny Dalglish is to stand down as temporary manager at the end of the season after the club's owners opted not to make his 2nd spell in charge permanent.

A statement is due to be published at noon on the official Liverpool FC website to confirm the situation and to thank Dalglish for taking temporary charge following the exit of former boss Roy Hodgson.

We understand that Fenway Sports Group offered Dalglish a 3-year contract in February but while there were no problems in relation to the personal terms, questions regarding summer spending were left unanswered.

That contract offer has now been withdrawn and if super agent Jorge Mendes of the 'Gestifute agency' is to be believed, FSG have turned to his client Jose Mourinho.

Speaking from Portugal, Mendes is quoted as telling BBC Sport: "Jose is ready for a new challenge. He has made it no secret that he wants to return to England.

"There are many famous clubs there with a big history, big traditions, and yes there are options in the summer. But London is not the only place in England."

Asked outright if Liverpool had made an approach, Mendes replied: "Liverpool? An offer, yes. But there are also 3 more years written [into his contract at Real Madrid] first to deal with.

"It is between the clubs to talk but it is something that Jose would consider as he has a strong affection to them."

Despite the claims by Mendes, Mourinho isn't the favourite according to the bookies. Yesterday Harry Redknapp's odds on leaving Tottenham were slashed from 100/ 1 to 8/ 1 despite Fabio Capello's position looking safe. Redknapp is 5/ 1 to take over from Dalglish with Mourinho 2nd favourite at 2/ 1.

The favourite according to the markets is Rafa Benitez. He's a 1/ 3 shot which suggests serious money has been staked on him overnight and if that continues throughout the day, betting is likely to be suspended.

Dalglish's last game in charge for Liverpool will be away to Villa on 22nd May, a fixture that regardless of the result, will be an emotional day not only for Dalglish but everyone connected to the club. {Ed001's Note - Jose is not being lined up for the Liverpool job, he will either stay at Madrid another year or return to Chelsea.}

OK Ed002
I got it. You've finally cracked up from the strain of answering all those repeat pie-in-the-sky questions about summer signings.
That, and the criticism of your (sensible) replies, has got to you. Fair enough.
But remember that revenge is a dish served cold. You should have waited until late May or June, and then come up with this.
But not a bad try mate. Lols.
I'm warming to you, even if you are an American Chelsea fan !

How can this be great news?? ? Daglish has taken 20 points from 10 games. Assuming this consistency over 30 games would put us challenging for the title. .

Fans aren't fickle to open arms to someone else. If this is true it is only because Daglish disagrees with something such as control over transfers etc. . I would expect a fans backlash no matter if there are any additional marquee signings

I for one would be devastated. . We are club rich in tradition and loyalty and what has happened this season you couldn't write this stuff into a movie.

"The Madness of King Roy XXXVIII"

The words of Gavin Law made me sit up and nod last night: . . Standard Chartered sponsorship chief Gavin Laws cited Manchester United's signing of Park Ji-sung as an example of connecting with the Asian market. "The real power Liverpool could do for us, and for the Premier League, is if there was a way they could nurture foreign players from Asia, " said Laws . .

To me this is a measure of realism and something they have managed to do in a number of clubs both in the UK and Germany. Although we should not simply accept these words without question, they make a lot of financial sense. Football is a big business and despite the howls of the diehards who despise the corporate set, the 'prawn sandwich brigade' and anything they can neither afford nor aspire to, this is the way forward.

I was in Beijing on football business in 1999 and even then you could sense how excited they were about European football. With a projected business market of more than 700 million new fans, this is where the link with Asia becomes ever more appealing. If I were writing this in real time with the bulk of LFC fans outside my door, I fear I would be holding back the throng of irritated and screaming diehards. These would be the ones saying we should buy players for football, not financial reasons. In between howling at the people in suits and Laura Ashley print frocks heading for the corporate boxes, they would also hate the idea of friendly games played purely for profit. This is football in the new era - where the country we live in is in a worse state than even my finances and the banks have gone bankrupt!

It makes sense to sign Honda and any other Asian star to generate a wider and more lucrative fanbase. But you should not panic too much: it's not as if we will be signing any old Asian player simply because they have flashed briefly for a game or two or are regarded as stars in a minor league. We tried that with Istvan Kozma, Bruno Cheyrou and El Hadji Duff!

Gavin Laws has hit upon a very important issue here. His words came from the club's principal sponsor and an instituion that has wide ranging (and far reaching) connections worldwide. It makes good sense to use those connections to drive our business model forward. If you're frothing at the mouth and wailing about "football is a sport mate!" . . . then it's time to wander back to the Rumours Page. This is about reality and the future and I for one am very keen on this path forward.

Save for the hopeless Copa South America and the World Cup, all of Brazil's friendly games are played worldwide for cash. Nike and Brazil make no secret of that: they play games to generate income. Now considering it's a football orgasm every time this cliche ridden roadshow rolls into town, you have to ask if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for LFC. The only difference is, we have KK, SC and DC to ensure we buy players that CAN play and WILL add to the squad.

As a final note on this, the naming rights for the ground go hand in hand with this proposed action. Anfield is in the centre of the city. Moving a little further away will mean the new ground will maybe be Anfield II, but any move out of the locale will mean the new ground could be . . . The Standard Chartered Arena, the Wolfskin Arena or the Standard Chartered Anfield Park. The plaque will still be there to touch, but at some stage we might have to consider moving and 'getting over it.' Nothing stays the same forever and initially it may be traumatic, but we all move on.

Now before you howl in written ire and batter down my mental doors about these issues, think on. These are suggestions, but in the game, they tend to happen quickly. Arsenal managed it; MUFC have done it; Chelsea are thinking about it; die Bayern did it; Dortmund did it and Real Madrid have played with it. New players signed for different reasons and new grounds are the way forward. Book your seats now or miss the boat.

Steve Parker

{Ed002's Note - I also spent a few months in Beijing (in 2005) and most people would be surprised even then at the censorship issues. One thing is clear though, if Standard Charter are serious that the expect the club to nurture Asian players, you can pretty much exclude Keisuke Honda and any other Japanese player from fulfilling such a role due to on-going tension between Japan and the rest of Asia. I mentioned Park Chu-Young as I see him as being an ideal player to meet that need and, improtantly, provide an asset to the club.}

01 Apr 2011 10:39:01
What the hell is going on with all this Jose talk and new signings being announced today? Is this a joke or what? I can't work it out. I hope it is a joke, and it seems like a joke, we already have a great manager! Someone please give me a serious answer! thanks

What the Hick's is all this carp about Mourinho and Flash 'Arry being in the running to be our next manager?. . . . . . We've got a manager! !
Let's stop it with all of this OTT speculative bulls**t and back Kenny to the hilt.
This Liverpool forum is undoubtedly extremely popular and I suspect it attracts a fair share of ne'er-do-wells and vagabonds. . mischief-makers and charlatans!
I'm not advocating censorship as that would go completely against the site's ethos and a login/ membership system wouldn't be workable for the same reasons.
I just hope that we can be intelligent enough to pick the wheat from the chaff re some of these "rumours". . many of which are designed to create panic, concern, unrest etc.

God, the millions we paid for the Hodgson regime . . . .Roy "36 years of successful management at the highest level" Hodgson and his mediocre tactics have cost us the equivalent of appointing Dalglish and a World-Class Left-Back last Summer. Are all Cockneys obliged to be con-artists?. .Redknapp, Hodgson, Artful Dodger etc. (gonna mention Shane Ritchie in Eastenders but I know that's not real. . .just like Redknapp's tax-returns!)
Point is we're better off as we are. . King Kenny, Steve Clarke and the Youth set-up along with Suarez, Carroll, Gerrard, John Henry, Ian Ayres, the true fans, Kuuyt, Leiva, Reina, Meireles, Kelly and our global appeal. . and everything else! We'll be more than okay! Stop listening to scare-mongering.
When you're the best you'll attract jealousy but when you're a fallen-giant with potential to rise from the ashes then the blows will rain in relentlessly!
That was me (not Shakespeare. .he's dead!)

The annoucement about Mourinho, Sanchez, Hazard and Neymar will be at midday. Mr Dalglish will not be standing down, he will simply be seeing out his contract and I am sure will take a place on the board and be their to mentor Jose Mourinho as needs be.}

Just want to warn everyone that is starting to criticise the club with KK in charge, and buzzing at the thoughts of Mourinho, Sanchez, Neymar and Hazard, your being exposed as the low level supporters you are, that is if the midday announcement is as I believe.
When your onto a good thing, as Liverpool are ticking along under KK and looking at decent players, you don't need to fix it.

Always remember if it aint broke don't Hicks it, we should all know this.

I am delighted with this news about Mourinho replacing King Kenny. Kenny's tactics are out dated as is obvious from our poor form since he took over from the great Roy Hodgson. Poor signings like Suarez and Carroll will now be a thing of the past and we can look forward to world class talent coming in like John Obi Mikel and Soloman Kalou.

In Jose we trust lol

I don't understand why Charlie Adam would want to joint tottenham over us? What do thay have that we don't? Sure they have had a season in the CL but it looks like that is all it's going to be. Where as us on the other hand have owners that seem like they won't settle for anything less than competing for the PL and not just being in the CL but being a contender for winning it. Strange choice in my opinion if he moves to Spurs, plus I thought he didn't want to move down south. Any thoughts?

Hi Folks
As we have been linked with Matt Jarvis a lot lately
I have to say it s good to a see a young player English shining in a side
That although I m really fond of as they have a great boss,
possibly earn his way to a potential big move .

I know the phrase not a liverpool or top player 4 might be thrown around
But it wasn t so long ago when Liverpool were winning things when some of our
Best players came from the lower leagues Aldo and Rush .

Would like to hear some feedback from other Liverpool fans

01 Apr 2011 09:08:10
Ed are you serious about todays announcement?
Cos this is massive our owners are clearly mega rich.
I love Kenny but if what you say is true then this will take us up another level. And even better this has been achieved out of the media glare in the Liverpool way. Im over the moon no club has ever signed so many players in one swoop what a coup!

Great work Fenway!
Just pre ordered new away with Neymar on the back might even order a Sanchez one too.

Thanks to King Kenny and welcome to Jose.

Best day ever

Dalglish's last game in charge for Liverpool will be away to Villa on 22nd May, a fixture that regardless of the result, will be an emotional day not only for Dalglish but everyone connected to the club. {Ed001's Note - Jose is not being lined up for the Liverpool job, he will either stay at Madrid another year or return to Chelsea.}

I agree that Jose will not be the next Liverpool manager and I for one would not want him.
I believe that Man Citeh could be in with a shout for him as I read somewhere that Mourinho wanted £20m a year in wages and a £150m transfer kitty and they could quite easily afford that. Not sure if Abromovich is willing to give that sort of money to Mourinho.

Torres has scored 0 goals in 8 games since his January transfer from Merseyside providing an impressive goal scoring ratio of 0 in 8.

There s been no officially word from any Liverpool officials but the unofficial word is, Chelsea can keep the player and we ll keep the £50 million we scammed them for!

This Jose talk is pure guff!
We need a strong push for the remaining games and releasing a statement stating kenny will not continue beyond may is nothing but negative. Im sure crap talk missed all the take over and seem to think that Hicks and Gillet still run the show because that is how they would have run the club. The hole squad are enjoying there football under the King and very soon a respectful contract to both him and the club will be announced (i hope!). Kenny would never decline a three year deal because of questions over summer spending, who do you think he is? Jose Mourinho

Hey ed, I hope all is well. I was just wondering if you have heard whether we are having contract discussions with any other plays in the squad other than Kuyt and Agger? Would it be fair to say those who are not negotiating contracts that are nearing the final 12-18 months are likely to leave in the summer?

DownUnderRed. {Ed002's Note - I have not heard but it is the time of the season where some clubs will start having discussions to cover for changes having to be made in the summer where players do not want to extend and have to be sold.}

Plus. I have it under good info that Charlie Adam WILL be joining Tottenham Hotspur in the Summer Transfer Window, regardless of Blackpool's finishing place.
He was about to sign on Deadline Day, but the Papers were in about 5 minutes too late.
Although, I never seen him in a Liverpool top, nor do I think he would suit the Style of Liverpool.

However, Liverpool will sign Sylvain Marveaux and will move for Elijero Elia (Hamburg) and will - most likely - attain him this time.
Benzema will not be joining, nor will any striker for that Matter.

A CB will be signed, along with a Left-Back and that will be Business Concluded!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All complete rubbish! Adam is coming to Liverpool, it's a formality at this stage.
Marveaux will likely sign, but Elia probably won't. A third winger might be signed as well. As you say, Benzema will not come, but you are clearly not in-the-know if you think we're not buying a new striker or two. And that striker will, in all likelihood, be the 'marquee' signing of the summer (ie, £17m+)

We will also buy more than the four players you mention. The number is far more likely to be 6-7, not including a few young talents that'll no doubt be picked up along the way.

Stick to the Manc pages, mate. You're not in-the-know over there, what made you think we'd accept your tosh here.

Martin

Dalglish's last game in charge for Liverpool will be away to Villa on 22nd May, a fixture that regardless of the result, will be an emotional day not only for Dalglish but everyone connected to the club. {Ed001's Note - Jose is not being lined up for the Liverpool job, he will either stay at Madrid another year or return to Chelsea.}

Thanks for the response. .by the way, just wanted to know who you would think will be liverpool's future manager . .i believe that dalglish migh be here for only 2 maybe 3 yrs. . i would like it to be jurgen klopp but i really believe that borrusia dortmund will be challenging for the league year after year . .it is a very well runned club now with plenty of young talent

When everyone does their lists on who will be recruited next season does anyone take into account Henries statement "the players that we are looking for must have great resale value"
This is not to say we will sell all of them but if they choose to leave or we acquire better players it will top up the transfer coffers.

Liverpool's sponsor wants Kenny Dalglish to stay as permanent boss.
Liverpool's sponsor wants the club to sign Asian stars to help tap into commercial opportunities in the region.

Standard Chartered sponsorship chief Gavin Laws cited Manchester United's signing of Park Ji-sung as an example of connecting with the Asian market.

"The real power Liverpool could do for us, and for the Premier League, is if there was a way they could nurture foreign players from Asia, " said Laws.

He added that the bank wanted Kenny Dalglish to stay as Liverpool boss.

"I'd like to see Kenny as the long term manager - I'm sure the club would, " commented Laws.
