People saying how great Henderson is. Considering he has been in and out the team for a future captain as some persons say no clubs have been interested? If top 4 is now our ambition tell me which midfields above us he would play regularly. Dave

He's a young player and needs experience. Stop being so negative.

Henderson, this season, has been the type of player who has personified hard work. He hasn't been given the opportunities he maybe should have, but when he's played he's gone about his business with 100% effort and you can see he wants to succeed. I personally think teams may not yet be interested because he still has more to prove. Personally I'm glad it hasn't been in the public domain that other teams may have been interested as I think he's an incredibly talented player. He plays for the shirt and I think that's really admirable. It's worth noting he's still only 22 and has been under an immense amount of pressure since joining. First, he got played out of position, then when he finally played in his preferred position this season he's been in and out of the team, but whenever he's been in the team I think he's been great.

He is a big game player. He will always put a shift in and has become our go to player as he is so reliable. Not flashy but reliable!

It's a squad game, so most top teams rotate. I certainly could see him rivaling Cleverly, Parker and Arteta (who's overrated). He's already better than Ramsey, Livermore and Anderson for me. He's improving every game and if he continues he'll surprise many fans in the long term. Give the kid a chance, what's the worst that could happen

Papa G

So your whole purpose of posting is just to slag of one of our younger players? Some 'fan' you are! How about Sterling? Suso? Not fancy a pop at them while you're at it?

MR EM

I think Henderson is great. He is adding goals to his game. What is not to like. £16 million could end up being a bargain.

The Irish Rover

Hendo is the new Lucas!

Liverpres

Hendo is boss

02 Apr 2013 08:41:45
To be fair, not everybody gave Hendo crap not stop last year.

A lot of what you said he needed to do, was to come out of his shell and be a little more adventurous. He's certainly doing that this year and credit to him!

Hendo has been absolutely great this year, credit to him for turning it around.

Really hope Suarez doesn't get booked again going to really need him for the remaining game.

We could still have a front line of Coutinho, Sturridge and Sterling. Lots of creativity and still a decent goal threat.

Any news on how close the xabi alonso deal is or do u think its a no go nice 1 thanks great site fell for your april fools joke fair play JON96 {Ed002's Note - No idea Jon, sorry.}

Heard an April fool that got me thinking who would take a staight swap lescott and skirtel
Royster

Not a chance. I think that we should be looking at younger players to replace Skrtel with i. e. , one of the Feyenoord CB's.
Scouse_Pride

Hell No! Lescott for Skrtel? Are you having a joke?
We should Skrtel and buy some quality replacement, who can walk into the 1st team

Hi Eds
Posted the other day about contingencies if Suarez leaves, i've checked the pages but cannot find anything.

I've also checked the search function, but there's nothing from the end of Febuary!

Thanks for your help! {Ed002's Note - Not worth the grief to discuss unfortunately.}

01 Apr 2013 21:55:33
Yeah I get that some people can't talk about it rationally.

Just want to avoid another panic buy, and it would seem silly to have no plan b.

People might not want to talk about it, but Andy Carroll, £35 million panic buy. Say no more. A contingency is needed.

Never heard of Contingencies. What position does he play?

01 Apr 2013 19:56:29
saw todays cup game, utter tripe. first of all well done to man u on winning title, how with that rubbish in midfield, I will never know. I put it down to their self belief, always think they are going to win, arrogance if you like. it works so fair play to them.
one thing for sure, pl is way behind rest of europe, 2 out in first round, 2 out next round.
the likes of b munich and barca and r madrid are so far ahead now its scary. modric a sub for r madrid, if at a pl club he would be captain.
imo we need two strong players in the middle, a dominant center back and a defensive mid. we are soft in the middle. maybe an attacking mid to add goals. add these to sturrige and coutinho who I think is class and the young players such as kelly and sterling and we will cruise into top 3 next season. after that its winning mentality br needs to instill in this club again. pity about our start this season, br is looking like a class signing himself, eds any truth in the alonso rumours.

B O H

Yet the PL has dominated the CL for the last 10 years how many finals/semi finals in that time for pl teams?

when was the last time real and bayern won it?

calm down mate

02 Apr 2013 11:22:12
real madrid were very lucky to beat Manchester United for a team that's so far ahead its scary. Tommy Irish Red

Does any one know Why we are playing at 13:30 on Sunday even though we ain't on sky?
DBol

Grand National on Saturday?
Rigsby.

Its the Grand National on Saturday and we never play when the National is on but I don't know the reason for the time.

Liverpool always used to play in the morning before the National. On a Saturday.
The Juicer

Hate the grand national. It should be banned for animal cruelty or at least made more safe.

Bang on juicer facts before posting springs to mind

We have played on a friday night

What a top bloke Brendan Rogers is. Happily chatted and signed autographs for my two young boys at the Exeter City v Rochdale game this afternoon. My eldest asked him the obvious question and Brendon said "no".

He was watching exeter goalie artur krysiak. watch this space.

alan waddle

He was there for his son who has signed on loan for Exeter. If he was watching the Exeter keeper he would have left after 10 minutes. Not a chance.

Im guessing that question was about suarez

Absolutely charming fella, had plenty of time for the supporters when I travelled over to Boston last summer.
DT

01 Apr 2013 19:31:24
So Rafa benitez will walk to the Wembly first time. with a chelsea team.
good luck.
Alex can never beat rafa. never ever.

01 Apr 2013 20:17:58
Neva? Try every year, how many titles did rafa win at Liverpool? And utd during the same period? Small victories mate

Poster above you know what o. P meant-sour grapes! Oh and as it is does he remember the 4. 1 Rafa oversaw?

01 Apr 2013 19:07:22
Well done Agent Rafa. Now to screw Cup rest of Chavski Cup campaign. And consolidate OUTSIDE of Top 4 Finish!

Another successful mission rafa! Keep them in the cup and distracted! Keep it up agent rafa and agent Torres!

Hi eds, just out of interest, if Suarez was to leave this summer what kind of fee would you expect him to go for? (ball park). Juve don't strike me as the type of club to splash £50m and same for Bayern (I know they spent big on Martinez). {Ed001's Note - Bayern have always been big spenders, as have Juve, when the money is there. Both have money to spend, and they would need to spend a large chunk of it or they will have to buy someone else.}

How much is a large chunk ed? Or how much do they have to spend?

London red {Ed001's Note - not sure about Juve, but Bayern certainly have something like 200m earmarked for possible transfers in the summer.}

Suarez will not be sold to juve, once suarez want to leave or we are willing to sell other teams will beat juve financially. no italian club can spend 40/50mil on 1 player they are all tight on money. outside the uk only madrid barca psg and maybe bayern can pay that kind of money.

200m?
Wow that does buy you a lot of talent.
Suarez must be in thier sights for them to budget that much.
Only a handful of players in the world would have a fee that would be considered a large chunk of 200m.
I would rather see pep try and turn bayern into the new barca using a blend of youth and a couple of big signings here and there rather than splash the cash Madrid style. But even still bayern are going to be the team to watch over the next few seasons.

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - They have rather more money than that available and will likel;y be the highest spenders of the highest spending summer. There are other sides who also have significant money available this summer.}

01 Apr 2013 17:29:38
am I the only one that doesn't really want eriksen at the club? yes he is a good player and better than what we have got i. e. henderson and allen but he will not be there forever as he has set his heart on going to spain so not ideal if we are trying to build a team. I personally also prefer henderson. I think he is quality and works really hard for the team and his finish against aston villa was someone showing a refound confidence. I would like ot see him being used much more until the end of the season.

ben

Yeah I kind of agree.
If your splashing that amount of cash you don't spend it in an area that's already adequately covered.
Allen and Henderson may not be world beaters but they both cost quite a bit and are decent enough players that are both still very young.
We have too many holes in our team that need a bit of cash splashing first.
That's why I think we won't buy him, although I wouldn't go as far as saying I wouldn't want him at Liverpool. He's a fine player.

MIKEY

I'm not actually that convinced by Eriksen. Admittedly I've only seen him play a handful of times for Ajax and Denmark at the Euros but he's flattered to deceive! No doubt technically he's good and I'm sure he has potential, but for the money he'd no doubt cost I'd expect a player who contributes more goals. Plus we could use the money in other areas of the team.

I completely disagree, hendo is looking good but still has far to go. Allen was yet another waste of money as our team is filled with young scrawney kids that get bullied in mid.

We need a big CDM and a playmaker if we are to achieve anything next season.

01 Apr 2013 13:35:36
A Question for Ed001
Do you know of any players we are looking to add to the acadamy (U-18/U-21)?
I heard about the barca lad and another one from Feyenoord (Kongola I think)
I watch a lot of our acadamy games and personally I reckon we need another LB and CDM (Kongola if he comes) for the U-21's.
Finally Do you reckon the lad Armin Hodzic would get a work permit to play for us next season? {Ed001's Note - I don't know who we are looking for abroad for the youth ranks, it is difficult to keep track of things like that, unless you get lucky and a name is dropped in a chat. Mostly though, youth names are kept as quiet as possible to stop other teams jumping in. I very much doubt he will be able to get a work permit, I don't believe he has even made a single full international appearance yet.}

Thought for most of the game today we got taught a lesson? Thought they could have got five or six!

01 Apr 2013 19:38:14
What is the situation with Hodić, I saw him few days ago playing for eljezničar, he looked very good, actualy very fast and tricky, but still. He is geting minimum amount of playing time. But then again so did Deko when he played for Zeljezničar, he was branded a log (a player with no technical ability) here.
Is Hodić is on some kind of a loan, I remember Ivica Osim, saying someting in that order?
Aldo

01 Apr 2013 16:28:22
Interest in Eriksen is real. Although some Eds seem to disagree. However I do agree we are very well stocked in his position, but we cannot miss out on signing a player of his quality for the price available. United didn't exactly need RVP, look how that has worked out. A CB who can also play LB is also a priority for Rodgers. Sakho and Martins Indi top of that list. Finally an attacking forward thinking player will be signed, one who can play across the top three positions. We will again be back in for Ince. Expect Carroll, Spearing, Wilson to be sold. Possibily Downing depending on circumstances.

So basically, we will have three centrebacks next season?

I'm told he has his heart set on spurs! It seemed work was going on in securing his signature! I'm now told their work is with fischer?

If he's set his heart on spurs then he's set his heart on never winning a trophy? odd choice

We need Honda we've got enough on the wings.

Unfortunately eriksen does want a spurs move

01 Apr 2013 14:36:08
Can't believe how many people fell for the Hicks April fool.

Well done to the Eds, well played! {Ed002's Note - April fool?}

Ha ha ha, how can anyone disagree with my post! Uttert clueless!

I can disagree by positioning the cursor on my screen on top of the 'disagree' button, and left clicking on my mouse.

What about hicks? What's going on

United have just released their new single callled i'm forever blowing doubles

At least we're competing on all fronts, unlike your team who struggles for a Europa League spot or has to settle for having a good run in the COC. against most teams reserves. I suppose there's always next year for you guys huh?

JK92

Ha ha ha, JK92 what are you even doing on here? How sad are you, your team fizzle out of the FA Cup and you come onto a Liverpool site. Very very sad!

Competing on one front mate get it right

Touched a nerve JK92 HAHA you lot are simply priceless! BOO HOO JK92 and the rest of you.

JK92 have you cracked like Fergie?

Nice one agent rafa.

MIKEY

Your fans are always on our page after we slip up or when you beat a relegation battling team, I came here to send a post to the simple LFC. who seems to be on the United page more than his own but I saw this and decided i'd reply.

Plus none of you are disagreeing with my post about your club.

JK92

The replies are rather embarrassing considering their adout to win the league again!

Yeah we used to be the best win all the trophies, but now were not the best but still pick up trophies from time to time until we dominate again end of.
Bil

Given its 23 years and counting, none of us are holding our breath. Maybe next year eh?

AJH

Only United could lose their crown and buy it back. Spending £23m on RVP, pay £230k per week with a £10m loyalty bonus once again highlights the fact that United are MoneyBags United.

Nicky D

AJH - Were you holding your breath for 25 years before the 93 season?

Nicky D

They have won the league but they will never win the banter league
Royster

Nor the Champions League come to think of it ;-)

Henderson will be our future captain. lad keeps getting better and better every time I see him play. another season or 2 and he will be the first name on the teamsheet.

He has became our go to guy. You can always guarantee an honest shift and will put the team above himself.

01 Apr 2013 17:02:08
Lets not run before we can walk

Stunning, within a few months he has gone form being a complete waste of money to your future captain. Not fickle are you?

AJH

Never thought he was a waste of money in the first place, I just thought he needed time. can you not see yourself the difference in him with more than a season under his belt. maybe your not a real red after all because its obvious that your not watching the same matches i'm watching. henderson in my eyes and i'd say many red supporters is getting better match by match. can u remember stevie g when he first start playin in the first team. he was the same player that henderson is now. and look at what he turned out to be. a worldclass footballer. henderson will be worldclass in another few seasons. and he will be our captain

01 Apr 2013 13:38:26

I was thinking that but it would be an evil thing to do lol

01 Apr 2013 13:14:22
I would like to see the club give youth a chance at the back, let Wisdom or Kelly (when fit) have a go at CB.

It's the whole point of a youth system.

I would rather see us spend the little money we may have on more technical players upfront and MF.

We could be losing as many as 3 centre backs in the summer.
Carra, skrtle and coates.
We can't cover all that loss with youth.
Kelly has suffered from injurys and has never really had a spell in the first team at centre back, same with wisdom.
We will need to spend some money here. Hopefully we can get decent fees for skrtle and Coates if they do go.

MIKEY

I don't think replacing Carra and skrtle would be so hard. They are no more than capable stoppers. I think both are overated at this present time. We have had a problem in defence for a few seasons now.

Problem in defence for a few seasons now?
last season we were one of the toughest teams to score against in the whole league

The defence looks a bit vulnerable at times this year. I know it's a new system and we have not let too many goals in considering, but the opposition always looks like they could grab a cheeky goal or two from us rather than us looking fortified.

MIKEY

Toughest teams to score against, is that so 2008/09 20 clean sheets 2009/10 17 clean sheets 2010/11 14 clean sheets2011/2012 12 clean sheets. so the stats and finishing league position backs up my opinion that skrtle and Carra have been overated for the last few seasons

01 Apr 2013 13:12:26
Coutinho could be the next big thing at Liverpool by early looks. He has started like a house on fire! Inter should be slapped if you ask me!

He has started well but let's just hold back a little. We do this too often. Some starts well, we blow them up into the greatest player ever and then wonder why they don't meet our expectations. 5 goals or assists in 5 is great, but let's wait and see how we are going after 50, 100, 150 games before start calling him th next big thing.

Andy K

01 Apr 2013 13:05:16
Man I'm gullible sometimes.

You said hendo was goning score yesterday. Got any more? Lol

Had a hunch Glenn could score against them again, let's go 4. 0 Suarez 2 Johnson and coutinho!

01 Apr 2013 12:38:34
Haha Ed you sly man. You set this up rather well. I seem to recall you telling us fans to expect news on the first monday in April few months back

01 Apr 2013 12:22:27
Cant understand this Hicks and Muse talk today. He's had his fingers burnt once, knows the fans cannot stand him, what would be the thinking behind it if it were true? Appreciate you can't check the validity of it at the moment but Ed's what are you feeling on it? {Ed002's Note - I have a slight tingling feeling about it.}

Had better stadium designs than what FSG have. it may not be that bad, after all I think it was Gillette who was the true turn coat. lol

April fools day?

Eds fellow reds. As the takeover seems to be an April fool has anyone got or had other Liverpool fool jokes. the one that sticks in my mind as teenager was on the front of SHOOT magazine. Ian rush in an Everton shirt. I rushed to the shop bought the 30p mag straight to centre page almost in tears read the full story on how he always loved Everton, truly gutted. to then turn page to read headline RUSH TO EVERTON. NEVERTON 1986 I think. brilliant. cheers

01 Apr 2013 12:05:17
Right from the horse's mouth, gentleman, the soon-to-be-unveiled new owner of proud Liverpool is none other than Ken Aguero! The Argentian stated that he has developed a great love for the club during the negotiations for his transfer as a door-mat, and remains confident his bid of two pennies and a smelly old fish is soon to be accepted!

Drigan

01 Apr 2013 12:04:03

01 Apr 2013 11:54:42

01 Apr 2013 11:41:53
I've just read the news that Hicks might be buying a large stake in the club. Its not on Facebook or wa**on. com.

Well I really do hope so. {Ed002's Note - Apparently it is on Facebook somewhere.}

Is the talk of FSG selling Liverpool true

Check the date kids.

Devon red

01 Apr 2013 11:18:43
This take over talk is again hype, it was merely a proposal. I am sure there would be plenty of interest if this was what is needed. And I am sure many proposal's have been put across to the board over and over. It is business especially with global brands.

Jord

01 Apr 2013 11:17:41
There is no way that after the mess it took to buy the club off Hicks they would sell it him back

01 Apr 2013 11:17:09
If the reports are true of Hicks looking to buy a stake in the club, this will be devestating for Liverpool, a complete disaster.

Lets hope its not true. The persons slagging off FSG need to take a long hard look at themselves and what they want from the club.

We should be there to support everything LFC not just what you want to get out of it.

If you don't support all of LFC don't support us at all.

Cheers Eds

Crooky

Well played Eds. Had me hook line & sinker!

Could someone please tell me what is happening about FSG selling the club? I have NO idea what is going on! {Ed002's Note - If you look at the Liverpool Sightings page you will see the article that is causing a stir on various sites.}

01 Apr 2013 11:04:24
Aha!

Maybe now the tossers who sent threats in to FSG will now realise their actions could have HIGHLY NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES.

Please not Hicks, Please!

01 Apr 2013 10:52:14
Hicks (!) buying LFC again?!

01 Apr 2013 10:46:55
if hicks gets in again fsg are selling us down the river if true all he will do is finish of the job the 2 clowns nearly done that we are still paying for now

Maybe we will see other bidders?

Any interest from Qatar?

Confirmed true on Twitter.

01 Apr 2013 10:46:38
Destiny is still in our hands, win all our remaining seven games and we finish with 69pts which would give us 3rd position.

All the teams above us have to play each other too so all will drop points. It's a case of winning each game as it comes, 7 cup finals.

So come on Suarez keep the faith and aim for 40 goals and get us to that C/L spot.

Curled1

Just wait till you lose the next game

01 Apr 2013 10:38:15
Why would Hicks buy us again and where would he get teh money

01 Apr 2013 10:37:18
could all of this takeover news be true ed {Ed002's Note - Well you never know what will happen.}

01 Apr 2013 10:26:41
I told ya a while back be careful what we wished for if reports are to be true that hicks is trying to get his hands on our beloved CLUB again I don't want them to sell up but if so please NOT NEVER EVER HIM JON96

01 Apr 2013 10:25:23

Bony, Ben Arfa, Eriksen, Wanyama, Dede, Ogbonna and Ochoa.

01 Apr 2013 09:26:47
Allright! Great win. Coutinho looks settled and is excellent. Gerrard keeps going and going and going. Long may it continue! How about opinions on our drawbacks?

1) G. Johnson- He may be the best RB in England but I want Kelly or somebody more reliable in defense on right side. Flashes of brilliance but too inconsistent.

2) Enrique- Good strength, good going forward, defends really well at times but tries to do too much with the ball. Needs to be more consistent defensively. I will like Robbo to replace him eventually.

3) Downing- Working hard, going forward and tracking back. But end product is a shame. Hardly beats his man on one-o-one, his crosses are meaningless. We don't look threatening with Downing on ball.

4) Lucas- We can throw a number of reasons/factors for why he is not at his best like he was before his injury. But there is only one reason why BR keeps him playing even though he is not at 100% level and that is WE Have No Replacement available. CDM has become an anchor position for teams want to play with flair so such a position cannot be filled up with players not suitable for that job.

Lucas lacks pace and strength but he is good because he make up with his intelligent reading of game and interceptions. As I have advocated earlier, we need a Y. Toure/Diame/Medel kind of CDM who can put crunching tackles and can dictate the play in mid-field. Man City looks lifeless in middle of park without Y. Toure.

Rest we all know, replacement of Carra, Skrtel. Another AM for future replacement of Gerrard. Another GK to replace Reina now or in future.

Indian with Red Heart

01 Apr 2013 11:02:30
looks good.
Johnson is very bad in defending. let's face it.
he works well with suarez. on left and right.
I wanted him to play as an RW.
his pace is just enough.

Lucas. is the only reason. gerrard started to roam further.
they both works in tandem so well.
we just won 13% of our games in his absence.

once he regain his full fitness. he is just excellent.

01 Apr 2013 08:50:58
There's no sighting. {Ed002's Note - Have you looked on the Sightings page?}

01 Apr 2013 08:39:45
A lot of people continue to mention Wanyama, Diame etc as possible signings. I understand people's feeling over having a strong, commanding midfielder as we lack presence at times, but surely Makelele, Masch etc prove that size isn't necessarily vital in that position.

The solution for me is clear, our issues lie almost solely with our defence and tactics. Now don't for one minute misconstrue my comments about these players, as purely being negative, it's purely my opinion"

Johnson for all his attacking prowess cannot defend a high ball for toffee. In certain games he's great to have, as he stretches teams and provides a great link with attack. This against better teams however leaves us completely exposed and if we do look at a more attacking right winger in the summer, that doesn't defend as well as Downing. Then GJ will continue to get exposed and we'll continue to struggle. A lot have ear marked a fit Martin Kelly for centre half, but I miss his strength, power and pace at full back. Yes he's not as effective as GJ going forward, but he's not half bad
and would make us a much more solid unit.

Carra has done really well this year, but his desperate lack of pace doesn't always help alongside a similar paced Agger. His defensive qualities, of never say die, organise like hell approach will be greatly missed and it's clear now that the departing Coates and Skrtel just don't fit with BR's plans, not to say that both aren't decent, but neither seem right. Going on from those 3 leaving the club, we'll surely see two acquisitions, with McLaughlin advancing to the first team fold, Kelly and Wisdom also significantly contributing.

Ideally centre half one, will be a strong leader, whose dominant in the air and has pace to partner well with Dagger. The candidates appear to point to Ashley Williams, but his age may not appeal to FSG and his lack of pace does worry me somewhat. Dede would be a great option, but that's very unlikely. Ideally we'd find this seasons Jan Vertonghen, but that'll be no easy task.

The second and more likely younger candidate seems to have a lot of names attached at the moment. Surely Mirin's name will return, alongside Martins Indi, De Vrij, Alex Pearce etc. I like the idea of a player capable of playing left back, as we've got two centre halfs comfortable at right back already. So MI appeals to me. He's got a strong build and seems like he's capable of making the grade, plus he wouldn't have a massive tag.

I know there are other positions we need to focus on, but in attack without any departures I wouldn't be too sad if nothing changed. I believe that Allen and Borini, witg a full pre-season, fit and raring to go will have a much greater impact next year. A years experience will have also helped Shelvey, Suso and Sterling who should add more product to their game. We may see debuts for Texiera and Ibe, plus the return of Yesil. Downing will most likely stay and he deserves to, as does the ever improving Henderson.

Gerrard has been excellent this year and adapted so well. He's got plenty of years left at this rate, partnered by the finally fit again Lucas. Many will question his ability as they always have, but give him time. If there is one player who is determined enough to recapture that form it's him. The desperately needed arrivals of Sturridge (who I'm hoping our medical team work wonders on) and the magician that is Coutinho have benefited us hugely. I'm not denying a hope of another talent, with that level of creativity e.g Eriksen but if Suarez stays and Borini, Sturridge etc start to produce then that can wait a bit longer.

We're not in a position to spend large amounts this year, as we did spend without sales in Jan. The owners have always been supportive and I'm sure this will continue to an extent. The good thing we've balanced is the wages, they're much more in line with our league standings, with incentive based deals making lots of sense.

With the likely departures of Carrol, Skrtel, Coates and Assaidi we'll comfortably free up funds/wages for say Ince, two centre halfs and one luxury signing if an intelligent deal can be struck. If that happens with no other departures I'll be a happy man. Making the right upgrades will take time and without European football (most probably), we firstly won't have tons of games to keep everyone playing and content, we also would be making small upgrades struggling to attract top talent.

I've only seen Diame play a couple of times this season (against us and Spurs) and in both games he had a good first half and then went out like a light in the second. Admittedly, he got injured against us but against Spurs he wasn't nearly as effective in the second half. It might just be coincidence but to me, it looks that he puts that much into the early part of the game and then pays for it later.
And he wasn't always a regular at Wigan.
That's just my opinion, though, and I could be miles out.

Ed tell me it isn't true that Tom Hicks is buying us. {Ed002's Note - The article was sent in to Liverpool Sightings yesterday from someone in the United States but we are trying to find out more about it.}

Just checked. I'm awake and not asleep and having a nightmare. If FSG were to sell to Hicks then I personally am going to hunt down all those people who made threats to FSG.

Tom hicks was filming the the vinci code in lincoln cathedral he watched lfc live on tv v milan when we came back and he was very excited, I think at the time he was a fan of arsenal /villa but he loved what went on in istanbul, true storey. ynwa

So is Tom Hicks a big fan still or is this just a business deal ?

Kiplinger's is usually a relaibale source - unless someone has faked the entire cutting?

On Facebook it says that someone from Data Sports Research in Hartford Connecticut shared this article last night and Kiplingers will be publishing it today.

DSR are the people who supply info from the web and papers to companies but I didn't know the S stood for sport. They are something to do with a college called UCONN.

Our future is right here and he is coutinho. I for one surely believe coutinho is the next superstar from our club like Gerard and Torres! Suarez has been making noises about leaving and am sure he will in next 2 yrs even if we qualify for champs league. But coutinho sure won't for next 5-6 yrs atleast. I for one surely believe him to be the no 10 in long list of zico ronaldinho and kaka! Just not sure how inter let him go.

Coutinho surely has started like a house on fire at Liverpool. He is a very busy player, always wanting the ball. Football is like that, where your career seems to be on hold at one club then you move to a club that just seems to fit. I hope thsts us. I do fear for Suso though with Coutinho and maybe Texiera making an impact soon. It could be a deciding year for him next season.

Henderson. I feel that I'm one of the few that has been all for this kid, since we signed him I knew he'd be legit. Ridiculous work ethic, good passing, can tackle, composure and underrated skill in the scoring areas, I swear if we sell him I'd be a sad young man. I've been all for him since we got him, check it, I think he has the chance to be HUGE for us. Look at the emotion he shows when he scores, it truly speaks volumes about who he is. Constantly closing down, running into space, sacrificing himself for the team. Slowly becoming my favorite Red. Stay positive, stay optimistic, stay RED.

Couldn't agree more. He clearly has talent. He came in with a massive price tag and people were expecting big things straight away. Now he has settled in he's starting to be a key player (another Lucas situation!)

May I just mention the. let's call it experience. nouse! of our Jamie Carragher.
Out-paced, out-sized and outjumped. However, still taking adequate control of Benteke.
Benteke has been a serious handful for all defenders this season, this match was no different. But, you would've notices Benteke really losing his cool in the second half. This is what JC does best. Did it to Drogba all the time, still doing it.

Cheers, JC!

I remember Drogba destroying us for both Marseilles and Chelsea. I always thought Carra struggled with Drogba's strength and Hyypia could handle it better but couldn't manage his pace and movement.
Rigsby.

Agree with you Rigsby, I remember Drogba scoring against us in both legs of the UEFA cup in the 2004 season, with Igor Biscan getting sent off in the away fixture. He also had a knack of scoring important goals against us too!

Nicky D

Lol, to be fair, pretty much everyone struggled with Drogba

Some fans are thanking "Luck" for winning that match. We had a rusty start, yes. But that's to be expected after to EPL for a while. Villa were equally rusty. So, as you'd expect, class and tactical knowledge won on the day.
I thought our boost from first to second halves was tremendous and deserves a little praise. If anybody was lucky, it was Villa. They may very well have conceded more goals than they did, while their first goal was a chance opportunity, instinctive.
Not our best performance. But, a good performance at the very least. Deserving winners.

I just want to say my opinion. I know everybody is wanting christian eriksen to sign and with the latest rumours over the last 2 days, everyone has got even more excited. Though this kid would cost at least 15 million so that means we are spending 15 million on a player in a position which is not even our problem area. We have around 20 million with sales of budget and we are going to use 3 quarters of that on an attacking player. Defense is what the money will be spent on with smaller and less expensive players perhaps for the attack (Ince). This is why I feel Eriksen will not be signed. If we buy good and 8-10 million priced defenders, we will not have lots of money to take Eriksen away from champions league and large budget teams.

I KNow that's not our main area of worries.
But players like him will make sure. Liverpool score one more than they concede.
the lad is pure quality. he and countinho will start the new dribbling course at anfield.
his movement. is outstanding to watch.

After using the serch engine to death I have come to the conclusion that the players coming in are: Alonso, Ince, Williams, Sakho and Benteke.
