Eds reds looks like we've rejected palace bid?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 22:56:25
For the moment.

02 Jul 2016 02:18:11
Routine stuff mate. We set a price, they bid below we negotiate to a even in between valuation. Hoping we're get £28m for him.

02 Jul 2016 08:43:10
I'm expecting the clubs to settle on a add on based payments in relation to the 5 million difference. Maybe agree on 27 or 28 and rising to 30 when he hits 15 goals something like that.

Similar to Mane's deal with us.

02 Jul 2016 10:20:38
The deal will go through.

01 Jul 2016 22:16:25
Joe Allen looks a good player today. I think that's why we shouldn't buy players who look good in tournaments! Fair play to Wales though!

Believable5 Unbelievable5

01 Jul 2016 23:05:04
how dare you!

02 Jul 2016 00:13:21
Play to a persons streght.

But could you watch wales play week in week out thought?

Nice for good moments and short spells but for an entire season.

02 Jul 2016 00:13:21
Play to a persons streght.

But could you watch wales play week in week out thought?

02 Jul 2016 01:15:57
Maybe because Joe is a very good player. And has been many many times for us as well. He isn't going to bang in 15 goals a season or even get many assists but he does so much work. And consistently takea the ball out of tight space and plays a simple ball that opens the play up. Why he has played so well is because Wales believe in each other and believe in his abilities. He doesn't face constant criticism from his own fans when playing for his country. Surprising what belief and confidence can do.

02 Jul 2016 06:34:18
I think we have watched two different players kopdogs. He may take the ball out of a tight space but his medium and long range passing is poor, his tackling is downright awful (meaning he is dominated consistently in the PL), positionally he is all over the place and offers so little in attack and defence. He so rarely impacts a game and really, for a central midfielder, that is not good enough. If we do aspire to CL qualification and, ultimately, the league title, then players like Joe Allen and the ones we should be letting go. We have a number of talented midfielders (Brannagan, Chivarella) coming through the academy and high number in the first team squad - players need to go and Joe Allen should certainly be one of them. What does he do better than Henderson? Or Lucas? Or even Can? Our squad is way too big and Joe Allen is nowhere near being our best midfielder so it makes sense for him to go.

I hope he keeps playing well for Wales, it will hopefully generate more interest in him - I certainly don't think we should keep him.

02 Jul 2016 07:12:07
Well played to 'my wee Joe' as Brendan would say. Now stop it I can't stand to Bales smug face again :)

02 Jul 2016 09:18:29
Different pace of match.
Different physicality
More emphasis on technique.

That's why some players who are good/ great in internationals struggle in the premier league and conversely why some of England's "star players" struggle in tournaments.

02 Jul 2016 09:42:33
Allen just suits playing for the smaller team like Swansea or Wales, where expectations are low because they try damage limitation and counter which he excels at. If a team comes and has a go at him with pace and movement then he struggles and disappears. Look . at his and Wales worst game this tournament was against England, we are the only team to hit Wales with any kind of quick movement and we only did it in parts but Wales was overcome and Allen just didn't feature.

02 Jul 2016 10:24:32
Seano is right. Wales is not a great team and even they know it hence, he thrives in such a team. If he were in the Belgian team, he wouldn't even make the stands. Players in the Belgian team are are the type we need to get into the CL and Allen is nothing like them hence, we don't need him and as Ed said, he will be sold.

02 Jul 2016 12:16:00
Yeah red, they must be the players we need - humiliated, spiritless and when it came to it not enough skill or bottle. Just what we need?

02 Jul 2016 14:55:07
players like fellani, and witsel? there midfield was awfull, wilmots needs to be sacked quick if Belgium are ever going to fufill the potential he has in that squad, when you're first thought when losing is to bring on the thug{ on the field less than 5mins before elbowing someone} it shows how limited tatically you are, not to mention not giving origi or even bentenke a try when lukaku{no way will anyone pay £65m} is struggling is criminal, Belgium do not play as a team and they paid the price for that, the guy who plays for roma impressed me though, as for hazard, he has so much ability but is heading down the road as a player who we will say could have achieved so much, had he applied himself more, he is wasting his talent.

01 Jul 2016 22:13:50
Good lad Mr Allen, regardless of LFC form he's been sublime in this tournament, very very well played that man.

Believable22 Unbelievable0

02 Jul 2016 10:25:39
Sublime in a Welsh team with low expectations and severely limited. Fixed it for ya.

01 Jul 2016 21:58:45
Hey Eds, I've read we're looking at Jesé from Real Madrid. Is this an old story pre-dating mane?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I suspect if Liverpool let Mane go they could look a Jese. There is a lot of interest in him but not from Liverpool.}

02 Jul 2016 02:02:47
I do think we should look at letting Mane go. He hasn't done anything for us since he's arrived.

02 Jul 2016 07:13:29
We looked at Jese a couple of seasons ago, he basically laughed when asked about Liverpool. Not a chance.

02 Jul 2016 10:26:24
We had a chance at Morata too but BR dithered on that one too.

01 Jul 2016 21:02:12
Edd002 my dear lost brother. Do you think we will see more women within mens football as coaches and managers in the near future?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There are a lot of women in different parts of the game - and certainly some countries do have women coaching. At the highest level I rather doubt a shift in coaching but a number of high-end sides do have woment negotiating transfers and influencing the games.}

01 Jul 2016 23:13:46
Thanks mate . I person would like to see one or two female managers within the English game. There's no reason in my mind there shouldn't.

01 Jul 2016 23:24:35
The biggest problem they will have is getting the players to respect their managerial abilities IMO.

02 Jul 2016 06:36:50
Ron is right - its nothing to do with ability, but the perceptions of women are still pretty misogynistic within sports and football is no exception. Add to the fact that the majority of professional footballers are as thick as two short planks and often very immature and you can see how difficult the challenge is. I hope it happens though, its crazy for women to be kept out of the game when there is no doubt that they could do the job at least as well (and i'm sure if given a chance better in many circumstances) than men.

02 Jul 2016 07:15:02
Typical clever women, run the show behind the scenes and leave the men in the spotlight to take the s***. Respect.

02 Jul 2016 10:27:59
This is a men's sports issue in general.

01 Jul 2016 21:15:57
all the soft cruyff turns lallana does how he has never done one half as good as that what a goal by wales.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

01 Jul 2016 22:05:27
Great goal but why use it to have a go at our player, who was about the only England player (maybe with Sturridge) who came home with any honour. Very shabby.

01 Jul 2016 22:45:53
ND what good is he doing for liverpool playing well for england i don't care aslong as he does it for us he is far from a bad player but a massive let down for me that cruyff turns to much he must get dizzy.

02 Jul 2016 00:16:12
We were looking good until lallana didn't play.

He has that affect on us aswel. Very underrated.

His ball retention is solid, he just needs to be mote selfish from time to time.

I see him hitting 15 goals next year. God knows he gets the chance. I'm certain he can have a storming season.

02 Jul 2016 00:16:12

02 Jul 2016 06:37:58
15 goals Paulo? Have you been drinking?

02 Jul 2016 10:32:48
Paulo, we've had him for two years and he's only scored half of that hence, your projection of fifteen goals is baseless. Now worse for you and Lallana, Mane is a better player and scores more goals on ther Igbo side where Lallana plays hence, your boy won't even score a goal next season because he'll be on the bench most of the time.

01 Jul 2016 21:07:40
I think our transfers so far have been good, all improvements for me. Karius for bogdan, matip for skrtel, basically Ings for benteke and adding mane wide.
However, next season will be the strongest the prem has been for years, conte, mourinho and pep will all bring in big players, United are already a lot stronger up front with mik and ibra. He may be overrated but he's an improvement on what they had. Pep will have money to spend, gundogan already, and conte has a good squad to work with, and looks to be adding too. Arsenal will always be in the mix and Spurs. Even West Ham are spending big, and Everton will be better than last season under koeman. And then there's Leicester!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 21:58:38
The Belgium v Wales showed that great players aren´t always enough. It will also take time to implement style and tactics.

01 Jul 2016 22:23:47
A great team can beat a team of greats.

01 Jul 2016 22:58:51
We've shown that over the course of the seasons, but barring leicester, not many teams win the league who aren't the best team on paper. Look at psg I'd hardly say their spirit is great, just they are head and shoulders above the rest.

02 Jul 2016 01:28:52
Its not a matter of will but can. United over their last two title wins, Valencia under Rafa, Athletico to an extent, Leicester, Dortmund under Klopp to an extent, Ipswich and Forest, Denmark in 92, Wales, Iceland. There are plenty if examples. There are plenty of examples otherwise as well, of course.

02 Jul 2016 07:19:35
Its down to the coaches to blend the TEAM and the manager to manage all the egos. I hear Jurgan will just smash u in the nose, say wheres the f*** your ego now d******* start f****** running faster and don't stop till my dog gets tired of chasing u. MOVE IT.

02 Jul 2016 09:20:00
You've been on one recently Chief 😄.

02 Jul 2016 10:35:05
Karius is here to take Mingo's place in goal while Mingo will replace Bogdan as second choice, Fencey.

01 Jul 2016 17:19:58
Get rid of Benteke for 25-30 mill and make a offer for Pjaca he can't refuse.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

01 Jul 2016 21:40:51
Is pjaca any good? Saw him come on against Portugal and look busy but not unlike Lallana, unless his final delivery is better I don't see the fuss?

01 Jul 2016 22:06:34
Joined inter Milan I believe.

01 Jul 2016 20:21:49
Been a frequent reader of this site for a few years now and I enjoy the views of the our fans and the knowledge of all the ed's! All there hard work is much appreciated

Ssn reporting palace have bid £25mil for benteke.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 20:20:07
Hi Ed

If we sell Benteke to Palace do you think Klopp will sign another striker or stick with what he's got?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - stick.}

01 Jul 2016 20:51:46
Is the offer true then ed?

{Ed001's Note - not sure on amounts but Palace are trying to get a deal done.}

01 Jul 2016 20:08:43
Thank the Lord (001) for crystal palace and the tv deal bailing us out of mistakes since an hour ago. Long may it continue. £30m is the new £20m.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - it is not about TV money, they have a massive financial backing from the USA.}

01 Jul 2016 22:02:27
New investor.

01 Jul 2016 19:54:20
Palace make 25 million bid for benteke if that's there first bid they will probably go up to 28/ 30 million.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 19:47:18
is it true crystal Palace have bid 25 mil for benteke and we have turned it down . reports say liverpool want 30 mile for him.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 17:46:08
As Newcastle have signed Gayle from Palace. I think Palace will now push for Benteke.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

01 Jul 2016 19:27:32
Reading a 25 million bid has been made, don't know if it's true.

01 Jul 2016 19:43:54
Just bid 25 million for him spot on haha.

01 Jul 2016 20:22:32
I'd take the 25 and run. Run an absolute mile.

01 Jul 2016 18:50:46
Well at least we know it's your opinion now Harry :) . You could be right on this one though.

01 Jul 2016 19:46:19
Ya Liverpool what 30mil if we get that we hardly spent money. Ed will the number 9 be empty . I would like Origi to take it if we don't buy a st.

{Ed001's Note - it is just a number.}

01 Jul 2016 21:00:04
It may be just a number but it's a number that legends have worn before. So, I believe for a young player like Origi being handed the no.9 would be a huge morale boost.

{Ed001's Note - young players like that barely know the names of the legends that went before them. I was having this discussion the other day with a bunch of coaches, which originated from an argument about ex-players getting preferential treatment to get their badges.}

02 Jul 2016 10:37:10
Players of today don't care for such things as squad now as long as they are playing, the squad no. won't matter to them.

01 Jul 2016 17:07:37
Hi Eds

Hope this finds your well.

I've read 4/ 5 articles recently regarding friction between Klopp and the transfer commitee, having been keeping up to date with your answers over the last month or so it would seem the club is very much going after Klopps targets, so are the stories just lazy journalism/ a re hash of old ones or is there some truth to this, no smoke without fire and all that!

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Klopp knew had had to work with the confines of that and the money. If he is not up to other will be.}

01 Jul 2016 16:49:58
Matip given no.32.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2016 17:32:23
He asked for it.

01 Jul 2016 16:24:23
Sorry not Liverpool related. Eds are the mancs really getting Pogba like Macca said the other night. I can't see it at all!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am sure Macca will answer that for you. Best not to ask me.}

01 Jul 2016 13:57:52
Townsend gone to Palace, another runour bites the dust! Expected that one to though!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

01 Jul 2016 13:42:33
Seen us linked a few times with Ryan Bertrand. Anything in this Ed, or is it just journalists linking us with yet another Southampton player? Are Chilwell and Amavi the only 2 LB's under consideration by Liverpool?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Search and RTFP - you are just wasting my time.}

01 Jul 2016 15:56:28
Klopp wants Chilwell, and a deal will likely be struck. If not, then Amavi will be targeted. Get any other LB rumors out of your head.

01 Jul 2016 13:41:02
I'm seeing "depay is an awful player"

Actually he's not. He has all the ability to be a great player but has a poor ATTITUDE. Van gal didn't help him but he didn't have the right attitude either to put his head down.

It's ironic that concerning mane, attitude means nothing that Klopps going to sort it out and we will see manes ability in all its glory. If a player has all the ability in the world and has the wrong attitude they look like average players on the pitch.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

01 Jul 2016 13:50:31
He isn't awful but he is pretty average. I said the exact same thing last summer when both Liverpool and United fans were fornicating and fighting over him.

Re-watch all his goals in Dutch football. At least 75% of them were poor finishes that the keeper should've been stopping. His touch is slightly above average and he is very quick. Aside from that he is just another run of the mill wide man. His ceiling is probably the same as the likes of Routhledge, Lennon or Pennant. People just got excited because he had a foreign name.

He was a waste of money last summer, and he will be the same this summer.

01 Jul 2016 14:52:57
Mk scouser I think you're way off and obviously never seen him play before united . He was outstanding before his move to united. He moved too soon in his career, didn't have three right work ethic at united, players or manager.

{Ed001's Note - I disagree, he was quick but far from outstanding. He was inconsistent and sometimes good, sometimes average, but quite often poor. He has talent, that was always clear, but he has yet to learn how to utilise it.}

01 Jul 2016 15:41:53
Big Al it is definitely you who hasn't seen him if you think he was outstanding! Either that or we have a massive difference in what we perceive to be outstanding. I think that Ed001 has this spot on. Depay has the odd good game in amongst lots of average games. Hence my comparisons to other average wingers. He is nothing special. We should steer well clear.

01 Jul 2016 15:57:18
Mk scouser stay well clear? When did I say that the club want him or I want him. I'm giving an opinion. When I watched him live I thought he had some excellent games at psv. He was always going to be inconsistent, he was a teenagEr a young boy. He's still only 22 now. Like sterling he made the wrong move at the wrong time and now his career may stagnate too.
Edd001 I think he's the ability to be top class. He has to put his head down and work a lot harder. Mourinho may be a great manager for him if he does thaT.

01 Jul 2016 15:57:51
Awful attitude and poor player imo. If he has talent, he needs to start showing it. Fancy flicks and step overs will not be enough to keep the kid in Jose's good books.

01 Jul 2016 16:32:38
May I ask big Al if there is no link in your post to him potentially becoming a target and or signing then why have you mentioned him on a Liverpool Rumours/ banter page?

01 Jul 2016 16:38:17
Except Sterling doesn't just rely on pace and is younger and already playing successfully at a much higher level than Dutch football.

Sterling has a better end product, about the same quality shot, much better control, much better dribbling ability, and much better defensive qualities. Depay is probably marginally faster. That is all he has on Sterling. People keep saying Sterling had a bad year but he still more than tripled the out put of Depay and he had to compete with Nasri, Navas, Silva and De Bruyne. Not Ashley Young and the United youth academy. Very lazy comparison that, Al. You're a very good poster mate and I think you have a good understanding of the game generally. This post just smacks of trying to be controversial and look like a hipster. 'I'm Big Al, and I'm not on the bandwagon. ' I don't actually think you've seen anything of Depay's time in Dutch football aside from YouTube clips based on your assessment of him as "outstanding".

I will stick my neck out now and say that Sterling goes on to have a far more successful career.

Depay has already fallen behind Martial, Lingard, Rashford etc in the pecking order.

There are so many young forwards who English clubs bring to the league just because they have pace. It's shocking. Depay and Markovic are both good examples. Spanish or German teams wouldn't have even considered them at the asking prices United and Liverpool paid because they are countries with coaches that value actual technical ability and tactical awareness over speed or strength.

01 Jul 2016 16:57:44
Big Al, we get it, " you didn't want mane ", he's here now so stop whining and just wait and see how he plays and how this alleged poor attitude manifests itself.

You've used depay to bang on about the mane signing, leave it out will ye!

01 Jul 2016 17:02:40
75% of his shots should of been saved lol.
Ahh this guy does make me giggle. I'd worry if he actually had any knowledge.

01 Jul 2016 17:05:04
Gazza
A good hint for you mate would be reading my first comment and relation to depay and his attitude were i compare his with manes (ironically an lfc player)

01 Jul 2016 17:37:47
Waro it's called irony And bias mate. Saying depays a terrible player because of his attitude when manes attitudes been swept under the carpet by many.
There's not one post were I've questioned manes ability. I won't have the goggles on either and pretend all is well with all our signings.
If the page becomes full of ems's in that every player signed is a "great player " other football fans will have a right laugh.
You Page is for banter and abit of debatE. It can't be full of ass wiping. A role you do well however waro.

01 Jul 2016 17:41:24
Mk scouser
I've watched him live at psv. It's okay buddy I'll let take onthe duty for assessing players by youtube clips.
I'm finished on discussing depay.
My original point was a players attitude is vital on how good a player is and becomes.
Have an enjoyable evening ladies x.

01 Jul 2016 20:21:21
Back on planet earth, LFC are still not buying any players from Man Utd.

01 Jul 2016 17:55:07
Chris, go back and look at the goals he scored in the Dutch league. Weak shots squirming under the keeper, keepers getting caught out of position, keepers demonstrating little to no reactions etc.

Only a quarter of the goals he scored in that league would've beaten a keeper of premier league quality in my opinion. It was not like Ibra, Suarez and co. They scored loads of goals in Dutch football, but their goals were by and large good finishes as opposed to poor goal keeping. Hence why they scored far more than Depay in that league at a similar age.

I know you are a united fan and want to defend your man, but blind belief that Depay is anything other than average is just silly. Especially when you have a few top young wide players at your club to relieve some of the pain of Depay being a monumental mistake.

Let it go mate. Just as Liverpool fans need to accept Markovic is average and Ibe has dropped off significantly since coming into Premier League football, you guys need to accept that Depay and Januzaj are both average as well. At least you have Martial, Lingard and Rashford to ease the pain. We have to shift Milner, Benteke and Lallana yet in order to make way for the likes of Origi, Mane and Ojo.

01 Jul 2016 18:41:22
Ryan Babel Mk2.

01 Jul 2016 21:07:04
The one thing that struck me about Depay was his fitness. He seems slow and overweight. Just seems too bulky and restrictive in his movement. Could stand to get lean and mean as a wide player. Bad attitude is usually enough of a reason to stay away but if he struggles with his fitness at a club like MUFC (should be motivation enough), I wouldn't take a risk on him.

01 Jul 2016 13:19:15
Just wanted to put something in to perspective, window isn't open yet but we have added the majority of what we need. Barring a left back which is ongoing and hopefully concluded soon. Which means we will start preseason with only departures expected. Klopp can work with all the players for the vast majority of the preseason, internationals pending, without too much disruption. Top job all round I say.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is open now.}

01 Jul 2016 16:50:22
Sorry ed, I was still thinking it was June!

01 Jul 2016 20:22:14
Class 😂

Today of all days 😄, I bet this made ed002 chuckle 😎.

01 Jul 2016 12:54:59
Very proud Liverpool supporter but as equally a proud Welshman. Wish us luck tonight, the joint biggest game in Welsh Football History!

Just goes to show, team spirit and a good harmony in the camp outweighs superstar names on the back of shirts. Live by the crest and die by the crest

CYMRU AM BYTH.

01 Jul 2016 13:51:07
All the very best to Wales in their pursuit of European glory. Had some great Welshman over the years do fantastic things for us. Giving support back now isn't a issue.

01 Jul 2016 14:10:17
We're a good team from 0-0. we're well drilled, organised, hardworking ectect. We're extremely solid and dangerous as we draw team's out to play against us. We're always a goal threat with bale in the team. "MAE HEN WLAD FY'N HADAU"

01 Jul 2016 15:50:54
Good luck -fair enough - but shouldn't you just all play for the UK? Is that not what you all voted for down there?

01 Jul 2016 16:05:15
Absolutely not I hope Wales get knocked out and quite frankly battered.

01 Jul 2016 17:09:03
Come on you Welsh! Queen of starling. Sour grapes there my friend! Now now no need to be like that, join in and support Wales tonight.

01 Jul 2016 17:29:14
Hope they smash Belgium.

01 Jul 2016 19:13:54
Queen of Starling. has to be an English man. Who else would come out with such a bitter statement. Good luck Wales, hope you go thru. Off course you do know you shouldn't be in the quarters? 😉.

01 Jul 2016 17:59:36
The Welsh Pirlo will score 3 Hat tricks today #CymruAmByth.

01 Jul 2016 18:01:23
I just can't get that image of the Welsh team celebrating England getting knocked out, sorry!

01 Jul 2016 18:44:06
Yeah, given that video of them celebrating England going out they've lost any 'home country' support they might have got from me.

I know England are bad - I no longer watch them play - but at least they don't leave 50 year gaps between tournaments.

01 Jul 2016 20:33:44
After seeing the footage of the entire Welsh squad go absolutely spastic as if they had just won the World Cup when England got knocked out I hope they get battered! Have a bit of respect. Apart from the side of it being a rival country, a lot of the England players are their team mates and laughing at your mates like that is quite frankly a d**k move!

01 Jul 2016 21:01:45
Nafe01 You can be rest assured all the Welsh players will be giving their English counterparts hell all summer and possibly even longer lol about their euro shambles, so I don't think the England players are too hurt.

01 Jul 2016 21:22:52
You can't pi$$ on one teams upset and then ask for their support. Come on Belgium!

Also a proud Red. Red of Liverpool, Red of Wales so for all you sad England fans gobbing off and wishing for a Belgium victory., well there you are we are in the semi final and it's not our fault you are crap! I've always supported England in the football tournaments when Stevie G, fowler, crouch and others were involved but sorry lads this is our time ###together stronger! Come on Wales.

01 Jul 2016 22:54:25
Queen of Starling that kind of post really is what separates Liverpool from the rest of the pack (I'm sure ed2 will agree with me) and in fact the English from the rest of the flock. It's a disgusting way to talk about your neighbours and I hope against all hope that there's salvation out there for you yet. Perhaps another trip to Lian Yu is on the cards for you Mister Grumpy Pants. Honestly I thought you were a changed man after five years in hell, I thought you were someone else, something else but no, seems you're the same selfish playboy who left.

We will only sign a left back and a defensive midfielder then our business is done. Unless we decide to buy anyone else if they are deemed suitable and become available. Or if we sell a key player we will look to replace them if possible. We may not sign anyone if the deal isn't in the clubs interests although we still might do regardless of this.

I cannot reveal the source of this exclusive inside information for obvious reasons.

In the words of Damien Sandow "You're welcome".

I wouldn't exactly say that's exclusive inside information.

01 Jul 2016 13:23:14
Haven't we already signed Grujic who plays as a Def midfielder.

01 Jul 2016 14:00:33
Bored of saying this now but Grujic is not a defensive midfielder.

He can play as a box to box midfielder, behind the striker or even out wide. In fact one of his previous coaches suggested that his best position was on the right wing.

By the players own admission, his defensive capabilities are the biggest weakness to his game and he is hoping to work on them.

He may be tall and strong but that doesn't make him defensive. He is like Yaya Toure/ Steven Gerrard in that sense. A very powerful runner capable of spectacular goals and with sublime vision (all relative to his age of course) . Don't expect to see him holding in front of the defense though just breaking up play. Unless of course Klopp wants to do a Rafa-Lucas style transformation on him and turn him into a holding player.

He is a very dangerous player going forward. Hopefully he can make the step up from Serbian football though, as whilst I haven't seen anymore than extended highlights from 3 games in that league (all of which involved Red Star), it didn't look like top quality competition!

I certainly wouldn't have watched it if I hadn't been trying to see glimpses of Grujic.

Hi guys, just a quick transfer rumour about an ex Liverpool player here. I was at Birmingham airport this morning and saw a car being loaded onto a tow truck. Eds, can any of you clarify if Dean Saunders car is being transferred to a local compound or is it going to a long stay car park instead? Any information would be great ;)

Thanks for your info on transfers, been a fan of this site for years!

The safe money is that the purchase of Chillwell and Zielinski will conclude our incomings this summer (unless we end up replacing a departing first 11 player such as Sakho or Coutinho) . To that end we can predict what our our forward line and our defence will look like. Up top will be Studge, Origi and Ings (with Benteke and Ballo leaving) and in defence will be Chillwell, Moreno, Sakho, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Clyne and Flanagan (with Skrtel, Smith and Wisdom leaving) .

What isn't clear is what's going on in the middle of the park. We are likely to play 5 midfielders, this is a list of players who potentially want game time next season; Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Milner, Mane, Ojo, Ibe, Alberto, Markovic, Can, Hendo, Grujic, Zielinski, Lucas, Allen, Stewart, Branagan and Chirivella. Rudimentary maths says that 18 into 5 does not go, so who's out the door?

Barring a large bid coming in I think it's safe to say that Coutinho, Firmino, Can and Hendo are staying (and would be replaced if they did leave) . The same can be said for the new arrivals, Grujic, Zielinski and Mane. Other than that no one else is safe.

Both Lallana and Milner got a lot of game time last season but the arrival of Mane pushes them both down the pecking order. Klopp loves Lallana's work rate but there's doubts about his final ball, 7 goals and 8 assists are OK but not much more. With decent re-sale value it could be decided it's in the club's and Lallana's best interest to move. Milner is unpopular with fans but, anyway you cut it, 14 assists suggests he had an effective season, he's also the consummate professional. I'd be surprised if he left.

Ojo and Ibe are both young wingers with potential but I get the feeling that there's only space for one of them and, at the moment, Ibe is the likely one to go. This saddens me as I was hugely excited by him last summer but Ojo is younger and had a much bigger impact than Ibe last season. Ibe's Liverpool career could be saved by a decent loan but the money men may decide to cash in.

Markovic and Alberto are both exciting wingers who spent last year on loan. Each have their backers arguing they should get a chance but Liverpool have moved on and I expect neither to be in our squad next season.

Branagan and Chirivella are still young and can probably stay with the u21 squad enjoying the odd appearance on the bench or cup start so they should be fine but if they're no closer to the first team this time next year then they may miss their window.

That leaves Lucas, Allen and Stewart. Lucas is hugely popular but is further away from the first 11 than he's ever been in his Liverpool career. He may be saved by his ability to play as an emergency CB but, if he yearns for a larger role, he may well move on. Allen's popularity has exploded in the last 6 months but I can't see that saving him, he was a back up player before and younger rivals have been brought in to replace him. Finally we have Stewart, I think his future depends on Lucas, if he stays I can't see Stewart getting any game time and, at 22, Stewart needs to be playing. If Lucas does leave then Stewart will get this season to prove he has a future at Liverpool.

If I was a betting man I think Ibe, Markovic, Alberto, Lucas and Allen will leave. That would leave us with 12 midfielders, 3 of which are youth players which seems about right to me.

Interesting read mate, agree with you on the players we are likely to get rid off think it needs to be done because our midfield is looking very bloated. And as you say it's a shame but it looks Asif Lucas may be pushed towards the door as he does look far away from the team.

Just hoping that Stewart, branagan and ojo get a look into the first team next year as they all excite me, especially branagan plus he's the only player we have that can take a good corner!

01 Jul 2016 12:30:54
Is Alberto a winger?

01 Jul 2016 12:51:37
No higgins he is not.

01 Jul 2016 12:53:20
very good post! enjoyed reading it.

01 Jul 2016 12:55:44
Higgins, just had a dig, last season he played left, right and centre so more of a flexible AM than a winger.

01 Jul 2016 14:14:24
Enjoyed that read. I'd agree with all of that.

01 Jul 2016 18:19:42
Spot on with your assessment. I would rather keep Markovic and sell Lallana. Markovic is a genuine winger who has exceptional pace unlike Coutinho Milner and Lallana all occupying the wide role. We have also given a full year to IBE. Let's try giving Lazar a chance. This guy was quite brilliant at Benfica when we signed him. He cannot be a dumb over night. I agree with rest of your opinion. Lucas and Allen has to move on.

01 Jul 2016 11:05:09
Hi eds,

Whats your personal opinion on Mane and the highly probably signing of Zielinski?

What players Else do you expect to be signed?

Best regards.

01 Jul 2016 09:29:00
I would like to see us strengthen LB with Neil Taylor.
maybe pinch matt Ritchie from Newcastle as he is fantastic and will keep mane out of the side.
also if we offload balo benteke and maybe firmino we should look to steven Fletcher.
what do you think ed001?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - hilarious.}

01 Jul 2016 10:01:39
Taylor was one mistake waiting to happen under Rodgers, thankfully he was injured and we didn't move on him.

01 Jul 2016 11:27:29
We should hijack the Ighalo bid. I'm sure £40mil will be enough to convince Watford to sell their world class striker.

01 Jul 2016 12:17:41
Must be a whind up post.

01 Jul 2016 12:27:12
Or wined up post!

01 Jul 2016 13:48:56
obviously a wind up. I know from been hooked on this site that the ed1 is not too fond of those players!

01 Jul 2016 05:48:48
Very simple finance question for ed002.

With United signing Zlatan, the number of United shirt sales will probably increase. If Zlatan bumps up the shirt revenue for Adidas, would that compel Adidas to go beyond the agreed terms with United and hand them even more than the agreed sponsorship money?

I call absolute bulls*** on that one, but my United-supporting mate thinks otherwise.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - No Nick, Adidas already pay more than they will get back in profit.}

01 Jul 2016 09:22:55
In that case eds does that mean adidas do it simply for advertising purposes?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is rather more than that.}

01 Jul 2016 10:22:14
If they have agreed a deal why would adidas then pay more because they start getting a return on it? Makes no sense unless utd had stretch targets in the contract which I would think highly unlikely given the size of the initial contract.

01 Jul 2016 17:20:36
Yeah, it does make zero sense. All they would be doing is decreasing their profit margins when there's an opportunity to increase it instead.

01 Jul 2016 05:55:08
I would like to see depay in lfc shirt if he fails to prove his worth at mufc. Because he is a good player it's just that he never thought premier league more thougher than he expect it to be and. Of course mourinho might axe him during the pre-season if he still can't get along. He vows to prove something in the coming pre-season but if he fails to that then he is sure of not getting a "YES" from Jose mourinho. I just give it a thought that Depay might suit Klopp style of play because we have youngsters of his calibre and young mentality of whom he would easily get along with.

Believable3 Unbelievable24

01 Jul 2016 06:35:26
Depay is awful, I don't want him anywhere near Liverpool. Even more so being he is coming from them. no thanks.

01 Jul 2016 06:59:39
You must b joking or this is defo must be a whind up. Depay is lazy, aweful and has a stiking attitude. Have you been an LFC fan since last month or have you been living under a rock the past few years where we had and still have a very similar player in Balotelli?

01 Jul 2016 07:06:57
The "if" part is also applicable to "what if he doesn't succeed".

Even if he is the last fitting jigsaw (in LFC team sense) I wouldn't be tempted to go there, there will be too much hostility directed at him should he fail or succeed, just too much drama to deal with for a young man.

Even if there's the slightest truth in this rumour (which I doubt), then his agent/ advisors should hinder any possibility.

I still can't believe that we still have the kinda chanting we've heard/ seen lately. I know it's the "few" but sadly they seem to be the loudest.

01 Jul 2016 07:26:26
AMK, Everyone entitled to the opinion but I think that has to be the worst call this year. I'm just pleased we got firmino instead. We dodged a canon ball in not getting depay.

01 Jul 2016 07:49:36
He plays for United. They won't sell to us. End of discussion.

01 Jul 2016 08:38:40
lazy, plays for man u and aghain he plays for man u. Would not hold your breath.

01 Jul 2016 09:11:31
Me thinks amk is mourinho in disguise trying to drum up business for his unwanted players.

I admit i was one of those people disappointed when we missed out on him. But i was also one of those that was delighted when we got firmino. Worked out best for everyone involved.

01 Jul 2016 12:28:25
Except Man Utd that is.

01 Jul 2016 05:16:16
Hello fellow Reds, such a privledge to be posting after 4 years of surfing, very excited with the up coming season, seeing Mr Jurgen Klopp jumping and shouting hopefully in joy. eds and yes all the eds URL brilliant you give us a reason to believe as well thank you for the massive work. I'm from South Africa and its time I make my dream come true I want to be coming to heaven (Anfield), but I'm not to sure how to approach it? Anyone that can help? From ticket purchase to flight tickets and acomadation and a tour if it could happen. Reds remember our managers first words 'Change from doubters to Believers' Ynwa.

Travelling from overseas, suggest you check out hospitality options for tickets. More expensive but proceeds going to club, difficult otherwise. We got tickets which included lunch with a club legend before the game at 'The Sandon', great to chat to everyone and good atmosphere, kids loved it.

We stayed near the city centre rather than near the docks and found that great, but would defer to locals for advice, great town, lovely people.

Tours easy, just arrange when your there.

Cheers.

01 Jul 2016 14:17:36
much appreciation Manly Red, I came across Thomas cook sport are they reliable? Don't trust them due to them being previous sponsor of man city lol, thinking of jumping in john Barnes suitcase while he's still this side of the world, hoping sadio mane becomes our john Barnes from the 1987 years and hoping danny ings becomes our future god I believe he can.
