hi eds and peeps first great job everyone especially the eds

Anyhow quickly to my question

As far as I see it we really needs a 25-30 striker a LWB who can get back and defend after a push forward and pussiaity a new CB seeing as kolo and skrtel look like they are off .

Why I here we are buying every midfielder going

Miralem Pjanić- we have Henderson who is still great had a knock and everyone has a short memory .

But my pointbis this

We have beneteke Inge origin and sturigevup front

All are not going to win us the league DS is good but a crock.

So we need a striker who is fit reliable and will get 25-30 goals a season, who ain't one for the future and proven ( which will cost a fair price )

A team that can defend

So a left back reliable centre halfs

so Sakai/ Loren and some one else matin ( we'll have to see plus Gomez

Any ways no Cl and only kolo appeal / money to attract players

So who will filly hear roles and we do you think we'll strengthen I other roles?

Thanks again eds great job

Do you think a wrong? What's you onion of where we needto replace people and why?

And finally when are we selling people like beneteke Moreno etc.?

Ever thought the OP could have some writing difficulties or other support needs! Perhaps non English. Not saying he/ she has and as some say he/ she could have had a tipple or two but at least have a wee think eh!

{Ed001's Note - the choice of name suggests a scouser, muzzy is peculiar to Scouse.}

02 Jun 2016 09:13:04
Sorry Rushyz.

02 Jun 2016 13:57:24
Rush ya muzzammilsurah you just made me feel fuzzy and dizzy.

01 Jun 2016 20:51:34
Could you repost maccas original post for me please. I tried search
ing but all I can find are people's comments on it.

Cheers.

Look in the other posts tab.

01 Jun 2016 20:46:31
Hi eds have Liverpool shown any interest in bozear of Ajax (think I've spelt his name wrong)

Looks similar in style to dahoud and zielinski? Like the look of him personally?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

01 Jun 2016 20:52:30
He's nowhere like Dahoud . Maybe ziekinski . Dahoud is silk . Proper slick player . Ziekinski and baozer are industrious quick players .

01 Jun 2016 20:57:12
He looks awesome, but I have never seen him linked. Be a nice surprise if it happened.

01 Jun 2016 20:03:23
Macca is usually spot on with his posts, the one regarding 2 buyers for the club doesn't stack up because when they tried to increase the season ticket prices and LOST, they did a climb down and said there would be a 2 year price freeze so that surely indicates they will still be here in two years, it also doesn't look good when your trying to sell a club if you say to prospective buyers there is a price freeze for two years.

Believable3 Unbelievable21

01 Jun 2016 20:46:53
Macca said negotiations, these processes are often long and drawn out, but it probably stacks up with ed002 saying clubs could be sold in 2017.

01 Jun 2016 20:53:20
Macca also said it might never happen with these two parties.

01 Jun 2016 21:22:24
Another big reason for present owners not to sell is tv money which wiil cover price freeze.

01 Jun 2016 22:17:14
The owners were making lots of tickets cheaper as well. The average ticket price was barely changing. So the freeze hasn't cost them anything or any new owners anything more than an average of about £3 a seat. The freeze just appeased a few thousand people who were set to see hikes in the price they were paying.

It will have absolutely no bearing on a prospective sale. Match day revenue is set to increase massively with the new stand anyway, and besides the match day revenue is peanuts nowadays in the financial side of football. Almost all the money is in TV, advertising and sponsorship deals.

01 Jun 2016 20:15:40
That argument doesn't stack up at all! For one, the new stand will increase revenue so your argument on ticket prices will be of little concern to perspective buyers I'm sure. Secondly, do you really think that is the only source of revenue within the club and the only decision point for spending £500M plus? Hmmm.

02 Jun 2016 00:12:52
All the things you are talking about (ticket prices, new stand, tv money, etc) dictate the fair valuation of the club and the price for a bid. None of them imply that the club will or will not be sold.

02 Jun 2016 02:48:55
007, y harp on ticket prices which sell say 40k fans per week when you can sell 400k shirts a week globally?

02 Jun 2016 04:47:16
Leek I don't think Liverpool sell 20 million shirts a year and even if they did they don't get any revenue from sales other that the original deal with warrior and club shop sales.

02 Jun 2016 04:49:46
Lol so a buyer willing to sink several hundred million into the club is going to back off because of a ticket price freeze? The revenue isn't significant enough to to make a difference and would have zero bearing on a sale.

02 Jun 2016 09:40:22
Liverpool sold just over 800k shirts last season. 8th in the world, Coutinho was the most common name (he was 10th most common in the world) . Pretty sure this analysis is looking at club only.

{Ed002's Note - The shirt money doesn't go to the club.}

02 Jun 2016 10:49:57
That's what I thought Ed002, why is it that "football finance expert" Rob Wilson says that shirt sales from Utd signing Ibrahimovic would cover the cost of them missing out on champions league?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot be expected to answer why someone says something.}

02 Jun 2016 12:58:20
I know (although I assume number of shirts sold factors into the value of the contract for shirts? ), was just giving Lee a more realistic view of shirt sales if he thinks that we're selling 20m shirts a year.

01 Jun 2016 20:02:56
We're being linked to Emre Mor and Samuel Bastien do any of the eds know if the reports are true?

Thanks.

01 Jun 2016 20:37:20
It means Liverpool are stocking up kids again and wasting money as usual.

01 Jun 2016 20:58:15
Maybe Klopp doesn't waste young talent like previous managers have?

01 Jun 2016 22:05:21
Klopp is the only manger I remember playing 10 youth players in a fa cup replay. I think his youth record speaks for itself.

02 Jun 2016 08:54:09
Take a day off lobster. What's the difference between us signing these "kids" to Spurs buying an 18 yr old delli alli from MK Dons who had only played league 1 football? I'll answer my own question. The answer is nothing and it worked out just fine for them.

01 Jun 2016 19:46:26
Just a quick question if I may.

With the transfer windows opening elsewhere today, does this mean we can sell players now to those with the open transfer window or would we still have to wait till our window opens?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

01 Jun 2016 20:18:26
You can sell players whenever you want, the transfers are just officially complete when the window opens.

01 Jun 2016 13:14:31
Hey Eds, I can remember reading earlier in the year that klopp was interested in bringing Ben Arfa in. Anymore on this? I thought he had some attitude issues which is why he went from the toon.
Cheers YNWA.

01 Jun 2016 19:54:37
Paper nonsense. There's no way we'd sign a player who was as bad as Balotelli when he was in the PL. he's over the hill now and he's had one good season in a weak league after a few seasons where he was frankly rotten.

01 Jun 2016 12:41:14
If Reina is good enuf to come back, i do not see why Agger can't, surely he is at least good enough from our bench if he is deemed good enuf for AC Milan 1st team.

Believable3 Unbelievable22

01 Jun 2016 12:54:04
There is no bigger fan of Daniel Agger on this site than me, however is injuries and his age tells me he would not be able to his league anymore.

In Italy, he will get more time on the ball and it will be a lot less physical.

I absolutely love Agger and how he played, but he won't be coming back.

01 Jun 2016 12:55:50
Love agger to bits. But ac Milan aren't the team they once were.

01 Jun 2016 13:03:04
On that logic shall we re sign Traore and draft Bolo Zenden out of retirement?

01 Jun 2016 14:16:50
Although I said we shouldn't bring him back Dave, how do Traore and Zenden come under the same logic?

Pepe and Agger are both still playing and were icons to a lot of fans at Anfield, so both could easily return.

However like I said, as much as I loved him, I don't think Agger should.

01 Jun 2016 14:52:31
We would be going backwards the only past players I would have back are Suarez and Alonso . can't think of anyone else maybe macherano. time we moved on now and let klopp stamp his own authority with his own buys (in klopp we trust)

01 Jun 2016 15:37:12
Pepe kept 18 clean sheets in 44 games last season, conceding just 34 goals. Ludacris to suggest he would be going backwards. He is a much better competition for Karius than Mignolet or Bogdan. Last season was arguably the best he's ever had actually.

Agger would be a good back up and excellent option to replace Toure not only in the squad but in the dressing room. he isn't better than Lovren or Matip though so wouldn't start.

Alonso is world class and would walk into any team in world football.

Torres is still clearly a top player. Anybody denying that is in lala land as he is first choice for Athletico Madrid who are probably in the top 5 teams in Europe.

Mascherano is also blatantly a world class player still as he is the first name on the team sheet for both Barcelona and Argentina.

Gerrard if it wasn't for his excessive player power would also improve our squad based on footballing ability. It is the negative affect he has off the pitch that makes him not worth considering.

Suarez, well if I need to argue his ability it's ridiculous.

I am in no way suggesting we sign any of these players. We should be building for the future with young players Klopp can mould into his own style of play. Not signing players in their 30's based on sentiment.

To deny that any of these players would be an improvement on what we have, is just blatantly lying to yourself though. We don't have to be derogatory towards our former heroes just because we are in denial that the club made a mistake letting them go.

Suarez excluded the players I've listed were the cornerstones of our best side we've had in 2 decades. The only guy missing is Carragher and that's because he retired. Why slag them off? Irrespective of how some of them left, they are all still good enough for Premier League football, and all still better than at least our second string players.

I agree we should be looking forward, but that doesn't mean we need to slag off former greats.

01 Jun 2016 15:53:52
Who is slagging off any former greats. i see everyone agreeing that they loved the players when they were here and still do but they get old and decline, it happens.
Reina is not the answer to any question, unless that is to come sit on the bench as a back up, Karius has been bought with the view to being our number 1 asap, otherwise ward would just have been kept as sub keeper. No Reina coming in and expecting game time ahead of him.
Agger barely played in his final seasons because of injury, I doubt he would have improved by getting older.

01 Jun 2016 17:24:51
Kopdogs

Reina has been on top form at Naples whole last season. Y on earth would he be second to Karius? What's the age of Peter Czech?

All this over expectations on Karius is frightning.

01 Jun 2016 18:56:13
I didn't say he would be. I said the plan will be for Karius to be our number, he will need games to get there why bring in reina to take that game time. mignolet has just signed a new contract. And it will be unlikely he will be leaving. Although he is certainly not perfect he gets far too much stick and is still a decent keeper. Karius and migs will battle it out for number 1 this year. Is Reina ment to replace Mignolet? That would be a downgrade in my opinion. Clean sheets? How many has Mignolet had each season and he is apparently terrible playing behind the apparent worse defenders we have ever had.

01 Jun 2016 19:08:37
We don`t need any of them, end of.

01 Jun 2016 19:26:20
Unless he's declined significantly as a footballer since he was here, Agger would walk into our team. He was able to do everything Sakho does but with less mistakes. And he was much more of a leader at the back too.

Problem is he's quite likely to miss half the season with various injuries which then disrupts the defence as he comes in and out of the team. And with Sakho probably suspended for the start of the season, and not exactly having a spotless injury record either, it's too much disruption to the backline. Center back is not a place where you want to chop and change regularly.

It's all hypothetical anyway, neither him or Reina are coming back.

01 Jun 2016 19:43:03
Torres? Jesus.

01 Jun 2016 19:43:23
Some may look at them as a step back, I personally wouldn't, they're far from past it. Reina is still a fantastic keeper, better then Mignolet atleast, Agger is Agger. an ultimate beast, if he was still at Liverpool i'd imagine him as a starter most games.

Although as has been previously stated, the problem about Agger is the injuries, unfortunately that would be concerning enough to not resign him. either way neither of them are going to return anyway.

01 Jun 2016 23:26:04
They all left the club - some due to reasons that had little to do with their performances and form at the time. I wouldn't have any back if it were up to me.

02 Jun 2016 05:03:01
i'd have agger back anytime. because he is liverpool through and through and he definitely would work magic under klopp. More so we need a leader, a fan fav, Someone who can push the team when it needs that push. agger to replace kolo anytime and everytime. maybe its sentimental but that is exactly how our manager is.

01 Jun 2016 12:14:20
Just read that Liverpool and Juventus are the ''best'' represented clubs at the Euro's in France. Just thought that would be a bit of a surprise to some.

Do us proud lads. :)

We always seem to have the most players at the major tournaments.
But then again we always have a lot of English internationals and a hell of a lot of players full stop.

01 Jun 2016 17:34:48
Still pretty good going though, baring in mind that Lovren should be in the Croatia squad only for a fall out, Sakho would have been in the french squad but for his failed drug test, and the majority of the rest of our squad are not from Europe.

01 Jun 2016 11:41:04
Hey Eds and Reds!

I have a question for Ed001 regarding England's Euro 2016 squad (I know this is the Liverpool page but not sure of a better place to post this! )

From Hodgson's 23 man squad, what do you believe is the best starting XI? I'm particularly interested in who you think plays up front/ out wide out of Vardy, Kane and Sturridge! I know you think leaving Drinkwater out was a big mistake so I'm just wondering how you'd line up without him?

Thanks,

Reid the Red.

{Ed001's Note - we have an Euro 2016 page on the main football-rumours.co.uk site mate, probably best to discuss it there.}

01 Jun 2016 14:56:04
That's fine Ed, sorry I never noticed that page! Duh! Haha!

Thanks Ed001!

So 10 days ago I became a father for the first time to a little boy called Henry (I'm trying to convince his mum that Hendo is a great nick name) . He's been in hospital since then but we're hoping he'll come home in the next few days.
I'm not much of a singer but I've tried a few songs to calm him when he's crying and I'm delighted to say that one works better than all the rest. That's right, he loves 'You'll never walk alone '. He's already a red at heart :-)

{Ed001's Note - congratulations mate and I hope he is home with you soon.}

01 Jun 2016 11:46:55
All is well with the boy I presume? You will make a tip-top father I'm sure and your rendition of the old classic YNWA as it is so often abbreviated to will be a belter.

01 Jun 2016 23:31:20
Congrats mate. My boys are 10 and 8 and I love it when I hear them singing our song randomly for no real reason! Warms my heart.

01 Jun 2016 10:13:11
I just want to take this opportunity to give a massive thank you to the Eds for all their work. It really would be impossible to sift through all the misinformation floating around out there without your help. A happy June 1 to you all and do try to stay patient with us clueless fools. ;)
I know the window doesn't officially open until July 1 in England, not that it has actually stopped clubs from securing signings already. But, in many countries it opens today, so we should start seeing those long awaited departures pretty soon.
Gentlemen, start your engines. :)
