What has happened to Aspas? I mean I understand nobody can dislodge SAS at the moment but it's like he's vanished didn't see him at all in the training pics? I heard he's frustrated with not playing which is natural of course can't see him sticking around long sadly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's injured, out for another few weeks yet

Agree0 Disagree0

He's injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

I rate aspas. But as long as he's getting kept out of the team we are scoring enough goals so I'm not too upset.
Hope he gets some playing time once he's back though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah now I feel stupid haha cheers lads! I had no idea.

Just a thought but the last SAS was Sutton and Shearer. Thanks to that partnership Blackburn Rovers won premiership. Are you all thinking what i'm thinking deja vu.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please don't worry about that, you are not going to end up in the championship.

Just enjoy the game is tomorrow and put all that SAS jinx nonsense thing out of your head

Agree0 Disagree0

PS. Last post was meant totally in jest and absolutely no offence intended. See you tomorrow it could be classic.
We're confident and so are you

Just as it should be

No cause the best sas won bugger all! Shearer & sherringham!

Agree0 Disagree0

Greetings Eds /All

Not been on for ages, nice to see the same mix of doom & gloom & over optimistic folk.

Just wanted to say that I can't wait for the Arsenal game .We have a poor record at the emirates and I am sure that it will be a tough, tense affair .

BUT we have a team capable of beating anybody in this division if we play to our potential .So bring it on, we will really find out about our credentials after some of the games coming up before xmas .I am very confident that unless we do our usual collapse coming up to xmas we should be right in the mix for top four.

2-1 to the pool!

I heard this morning that if we beat Arsnal tomorrow and continue our fine run. Brendan Rogers will receive a hefty budget come January. What are your thoughts on this Eds? Thank you in advance. {Ed002's Note - I doubt that the result tomorrow will impact the budget at all.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe not Ed, but like he said if we have a good run of form till January, sitting maybe in the top three? They may just think with a big signing in our weakest position, maybe a push for the league isn't out of the question. Shanks did say if you aim for the ceiling, you'll stay on the ground, aim for the sky. you'll hit the ceiling :) {Ed002's Note - You appear to be day dreaming Benny - it really isn't how things work. Liverpool will look to strengthen in January by bringing in a player or two regardless. Things will change based on other factors - the obvious one being if someone leaves. If Suarez were to move to Real Madrid, for example, you can expect another player to arrive.}

Agree0 Disagree0

True. Do you expect Madrid to come in for Suarez? After all they offered less than what arsenal did? I can't see them raising it much more, and especially how Luis has started, I don't see fsg letting him go, at least till the summer. {Ed002's Note - Yes, Real Madrid will make an effort to sign Suarez in January. I am sure that Liverpool would rather not sell but Suarez wants to leave - and has already made it clear that he sees himself playing in the Champions League this season. However, Real Madrid will need to sell or possibly look to include a player (Benzema if he cannot be sold elsewhere) in the deal.}

A very happy retirement to a former Liverpool stalwart and great; Ray Clemence.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

2nd that!
The best keeper I have seen play for us.
Should of played more for England.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're right he should HAVE played more for England

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Shilton was also a great keeper . In any other era Clemence would have had a 100 plus caps. Easily.

ed02. you are exeptional with your views and analysis. But you flare too fast and become quite insultive. You indeed need an attitude adjustment(AA). Pe

ople could be annoying at times but I think you should maintain character amidst this. However you are the best on this site. 4real

{Ed002's Note - You are an idiot if you think I should tolerate abuse from some no doubt shaven-headed, lager-swilling, pot-bellied, tattooed, knuckledragging oaf.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Nov 2013 15:05:03
One does not simply change Ed02.

We love Ed02 because of what he/she is.

Besides, the aforementioned oafs do deserve the verbal sh*epstorm they get, by the abuse to the good Eds who work tirelessly on this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's wrong with Lager swilling?

Agree0 Disagree0

"Back home they referred to me as an illiterate knuckle dragging oaf. Back home I have, thus far, advanced to the status of literate Knuckle dragging oaf."

The Golden Butterfly

Please don't change Ed002 you truly brighten up my day.

Lets get behind our team instead of moaning tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy Ed02, no need to stoop to that level with insulting posts like that - always thought you were better than that mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bloody hell Ed002, you've just described me down to a tee!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with Larger swilling, proud of mine. Actually ED02 you will find most abusive internet bullies are skinny cowards hiding behind their keyboard. {Ed002's Note - And how would you know that?}

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Nov 2013 19:27:32
The Lager-Swilling is a bit 2 far. Your insulting the majority of Liverpool fans in Ireland and Britain. We don't go on about mcdonalds to u:p

Agree0 Disagree0

Beer envy ed002? The beer over in the states is awful haha. {Ed002's Note - I left the States in 1981 Mikey.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not surprised ed002, must have been the bud lights. Enough to make anyone emigrate lol

Fellow Reds
Can we please CALM DOWN! We are a work in progress, we still need an attacking/creative midfielder and cover in other areas. So don't get too down if results don't go our way in some fixtures. Arsenal are going to give teams a hard time at the Emirates, make no mistake about that! If we win, GREAT! It would be a statement to the rest of the league that Liverpool are truly BACK, but even if we don't get the result I will be satisfied if we play well, which we should be.
It's going to be a hell of a match, both teams will attack and pass the ball around.
Let's hope Suarez makes Arsenal fans wish they had him in their team! Living amongst Arsenal fans, this is a win I will enjoy very very much, so come on boys!
Whatever happens. YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't you ever get tired of the WE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS TALK.for how long do you want to keep this up

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Nov 2013 14:51:17
OMG. how I missed this from weeks.
". WORK IN PROGRESS. "
the next one?. ". GIVE THE LAD A CHANCE. "

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah well harry I think he's right, why do we always build ourselves up so much that when we don't preform everyone starts having mental breakdowns on this site.
sometimes you need to take a step back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let Harry pick the team it will be three points guaranteed. I forgot he only wishes players to be injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry don't forget the classic line, "Rome wasn't built in a day"

Agree0 Disagree0

For the next few years we will keep selling 4 or 5 and buy 4 or 5 and stay work in progress .
But seriously for those criticizing, I don't think all is good and don't think we will be top 4, but there is lots of signs we are better than last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think we are the finished article then you are seriously mistaken, which is what everyone seems to think we are when we are winning. When we lose however you would think that Rodgers was "tactically illiterate" and that sturridge didn't run and the rest aren't Liverpool quality. So he has a point.

Good luck to Tranmere midfielder Joe Thompson, who has been diagnosed with nodular sclerosing Hodgkin's disease, and is to undergo chemotherapy shortly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I second that sentiment.

I believe that is what Andy Whitfield died of, he was the lead I the tv series 'Spartacus' with John Hannah. There is more information about the disease if you look for 'Andy Whitfield: Be Here Now'.
Good luck to Joe in his battle

Here, here. Wish the lad all the best.

Hope the op goes well and best wishes to Joe and his family

Red wool

I have a soft spot for Tranmere so I know a little bit about their players and Thompson is a very good player and I hope he beats this.

All this fuss about how great this arsenal team is well the reality is they are 5 points worse off than this time last year against the same opposition (excluding crystal palace). Mmm. smoke and mirrors.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well joe, I think the original poster is referring to the points gained by arsenal in reference to the teams they have played so far last season they amassed 5 more points against the same sides last year in corresponding games, it makes no sense watsoever . we must be the best side in the world so

Agree0 Disagree0

Well this makes no sense, how are they 5 points worse off than this time last season, when they have only dropped 4 points?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well R91 they've actually dropped 5 points, you drop 2 points for a draw not 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal aren't invincible, but their midfield is bloody good. Their back 4 can be exposed however and I have every faith a counter attacking display can work for us. It will be a cracking match.

Liverpool have been a team reborn this season, continuing good form from the end of last season.
Although I will positively say we are doing extremely well, take caution. We are doing superbly but City and United are both faultering, not a true reflection of their abilities by any means.
I do not mean to put a dampner on our season but we are performing well whilst others are not. There will come a point where these tables turn, that point will be more important than this, true challengers pick up points in the lulls and perform excellently in the highs.
We should still be setting our sights on top 4, althouth I will allow myself to focus on top 3, saves a long round trip to qualify next season.
We have some big games coming up against some of our other contenders, and have already gained points on others, the next couple of weeks are extremely important and are against teams who have quality and have been in form also. In this respect the Arsenal game is massive and is a pointer as to how our season will continue.
Also the tv story about us winning title is rubbish, Rodgers made the mistake last season, and would not count his chickens so naively again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The only place I would disagree with this, is that we are already playing badly and getting results. The West Brom game was our first good performance of the season, and it reaped our best result. Before then we had been average, but been collecting the points. Long may it continue. At this rate we will finish the season on 84 points. People say we've had an easy start but we've played United, Swansea and Southampton. Stoke are our bogey team, Villa have been strong etc. There are no easy games in the league and we are performing well below our maximum level and producing some of the best results in the league. Long may it continue!
