Your best player isn't even owned by your club. You've got to hand him back in the summer. Oh dear!

Supasub

We bought Lucas from Grimero 5 years ago mate. Typical Manc, clueless.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Really? Where's Suarez going? Or did you mean Gerrard? Agger? Stirling? We have a lot of top quality players and they're going nowhere, pal

cozinoz

He had a host of clubs after him.
Spurs,Arsenal,Manu incuded but he chose to come to Liverpool.
Sahin is a cracking player, so I do understand you being jealous.
kidmillions

Who Suarez! Don't think so. Oh Sahin you mean, we'll cross that bridge when the time comes. Until then
JohnBoy

Don't you have £423m debt you should be handing back soon?.. oh dear.

dd

Joe Allen is, and will remain a Liverpool player for many years. Suarez as well, Lucas too.

Shouldn't you be worrying about that billion dollar debt....?
AnfieldUSA {Ed063's Note - IF Sahin does leave at the end of the season we could just play a rather talented youngster in his position. Goes by the name of Suso}

You barrack for Man Utd and you are on a Liverpool website - oh dear

RedOz

Come back and brag when you lot have enough support for a 'banter 6-12' section on your page :)

cozinoz

Mate, just because he's better than all your midfielders.

No cozinoz, the banter 6-12 section refers to the age group.

Supasub {Ed063's Note - Then maybe I should start sending your posts there?}

I thought it referred to shoe sizes no?
JohnBoy

Maybe you should start a banter 1-6 on the manc page in case they get more than 5 posts in a day, Ed?

cozinoz {Ed063's Note - Haha}

See the way Stevie is getting to grips with the new system? He could have a glorious final couple of years. One of the few players who could play any position, in any formation and any style of football.

Mantis.

My nan could play in any position in your team and stand out let alone past it Gerrard.

Supasub {Ed001's Note - you really are a bit foolish to go there when you already have your grandad playing for you!}

How old are you SupaSub?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Which grandad ed? They got 2 and by the look of Ferdinand on sat night, another to join the united pension scheme

Funny how Fergies Fledglings are still there 15 years later. Can you extend Giggs' contract please so we can laugh at you next season as well

cozinoz

02 Oct 2012 04:17:01

ynwa

They've got a couple of Grandads and a Nani.

LOL i remember the days when i was a pre pubescent muppet and used to wate my time winding mancs up on there pages! Give the kid a break. He knows nothing, which is typical of manc fans. He probably lives in there support heartland of Surrey! Hes also supporting a team managed by a whiskey addled glaswegian who is slowly going mad, and idolising players literally old enough to be his Grandad! Lets just ignore him and let him make his pointless little comments!

01 Oct 2012 23:15:53
How come Joe Cole can play for the Under 21s?

This means I can fulfill my life long dream and play for LFC- only good enough for the under 8s though!

But first question is a serious one, don't get it?

They're allowed a certain number of overage players.

I've never been on the united rumours site before today, but I find it very unsettling that Blair Mayne has made more comments on their site then ours.. It looks childish, and seems to me like some bad karma for us other fans.. Who cares what their fans say, Lets leave it to our great Reds to do the talking for us. End of.

It's called banter mate. If you hadn't have been on the Manc page. You wouldn't have noticed.

Lol lol

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

It's a banter page. When the Mancs spend all summer telling us Suarez is off to Barca, it's only good manners to pop over to their page and remind them he's scored more chubby Rooney

cozinoz

Here's me thinking it was called banter for a reason.

MIKEY

I think you'll find Blair & Utd fans are actually 'kinda' mates. It's honest old school banter & they have a respect for each other. It's the anon' trolls that are the real poison.

dd

I personally like the way Blair winds them lot up tbh lol. And I also, Blair is a established regular on the Liverpool site and I don't find him to be negative or anything so isn't that all that matters?

Why are so many on allens back already? Just because Alan Shearer ( On MOTD ) and a few other useless pundits decided to say ooo problem with allen is he doesn't pass forward only sideways. He doesn't play killer balls.

He hasn't even been hear for 10 games. And he has been getting stuck in winning the ball back keeping things organised and setting up play with his composure and reading of the game. He looks like a young alonso, give him time and he will be right up there with him.

At the moment his role is to hold the midfield and always be an option to the man with the ball which he does very very well.

Don't pick on someone who does there job well try the ones that aren't skrtel again and reina?! In my opinion I would give them a break aswell but at least don't get on every players back even when they playing well!!

BR wants to bring in Aiden McGeady

Hope this is true. We've needed someone to put the cones out. Since Sammy Lee left.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Blair Mayne, lol, that's comedy and you are a genious....

McGeady isn't fit to tie the laces of Suso, Sterling and dare I say (from the limited time seen of him) Assiadi.

Cheers

Hey Blair, just been on the Utd page, great post and so true, the only point I would dissagree on is I think you sold yourself short on the number of Terrible's in it. They are so depressed. I'm still laughing now.
Stoner.

Thanks Stoner mate. I would have put more in but was in a rush to try and get my Manc bro on the phone, he was at the game. He's turned his phone off now. lol

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Oh Liverpool fans, you see we have reason to be annoyed, we lost to a team we would normally. Obviously something you haven't felt in a while what with your current form. Maybe you'll do better in the championship next year ??
Sparky

Sparky your team is rubbish. Spurs are not a good team with an awful manager. You were lucky against us, Fulham, Southampton and Galataseray. But it should be an easy 3 points against Newcastle, Howard Webb is doing ref.

I heard Slur Alex has had all the players practising penalties all week.

Hi Eds ,

Well chuffed with the result on Saturday , I would just like to say that I think all the slagging of some players is not always helpful.

Reina - yes he has been generally poor but how many of the defence has performed well all season .The number of individual mistakes in the team has been really high.
I do think people have to use their brains a wee bit more though.Pepe is a top keeper and what he needs more than everything else is competition .I think selling one of our most loyal ,talented players at this point would be foolish.

Carra - I dont want to see him week in week out but I see him on the bench I know he come on and do the job.He has all the passion and experience that younger players so often lack.

Allen - really ??He has settled in great and played
well ....end of.

I would say that I hope Downing & Carrol leave as we we would not suffer greatly without them and could do with a few quid

I think that BR is changing systems , and that all the team now have to play football now ,the biggest challenge for me is getting the back line more focused and confident in a more patient game .
I think that as the players grow into the new sytem individual mistakes will reduce and that we will ( with a decent striker of course ) rise up that table this year.

I hope that some of the doomsday merchants can chillout a bit and we also need to keep at least one foot on the ground as we beat a poor Norwich side having a poor season. rember that we are still a long , long way from the finished article.

Am enjoying watching the next chapter in British football being written right now at Liverpool .I truly believe that if BR gets the right tools he will bring a lasting success.

Keep the faith

Kobi

Great post, end of.

I see a coupla comments regarding Sahin signing on permanetly.
My own take on the matter is that it's still way too early to say anything concrete.

He's a wonderful footballer and a fine human being too. I'd love for him to stay beyond his loan spell.
However, I think it unlikely, and not because Madrid won't make him available. In all likelihood, they are going to.

Problem for us is that they'd be a whole host of clubs chasing his signature, many of whom CL sides who'd offer far more attractive financial packages.

So unless Nuri makes a personal, very personal decision, I don't see that he'll be turning out for us next season, even if he won't be doing so for Madrid either.
But let that not be an issue.

Let's enjoy Nuri for the 9 or so months he'll be with us.
He's a remarkable talent and we are lucky to have him in our side. Let's just enjoy that and see what happens season end.

BARNEY

If he enjoys his stay here and if he thinks we are moving in the right direction, whats to say that he will not want to stay himself?

Well, we don't know what Sahin's thought process will be 9 months from now next summer but he has already said stuff like:

"The project with Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers is the best for my situation I think - that is why I am here,"

"I think the style I play is the same as how the manager wants the team to play. I have settled in very well and I hope it will be the same on the pitch and that we will have a great season."

And this was before the 3 goals in the past 2 games.

Let's not forget he had offers from champions league teams this summer.

Not saying it is a dead set. But if he carries on like he does and gets the love from the fans and the club there is a big chance of him staying. But if Real want him I think he wants to be a first team player there, But only time will tell.

Have been reading all the posts but have not posted myself for ages. Feel compelled to post now because of the unbelievable criticism by some posters of the Brilliant Joe Allen.
Let me just say Sahin's goal on Saturday eminated from an interception and forward ball to Sterling by Allen.
Anyone having a go at Allen seriously doesn't know their football!!
Just have a look at Allens involvement in Gerrards goal.
A 21-pass move started by Syrtle winning a defensive header and directing the ball to Sterling who shows excellent control and composure to play the ball off to Gerrard who then plays it quickly on to Assaidi scampering down the left wing confronted by two Norwich defenders plays the ball back inside to Gerrard who shifts the ball to Allen who moves it on to the advancing Wisdom on the right, Wisdom plays a crisp ball down the line to Sterling who again shows great control and composure under pressure before playing it back to Wisdom who instantly shifts it inside to the ever available Allen. Suarez darts forward and plays Allens neat forward pass off to Henderson who lays back into Wisdom and neatly takes the return ball and moves it on to Allen who carries across field and exchanges passes with Johnson out on the left, who then finds Agger.
Agger plays a great ball forward to Allen who's neat turn leaves a couple of Norwich players for dead, finds Gerrard who plays a perfectly weighted ball down the right hand side for Sterling who collects the ball and moves forward all in one movement before playing playing a perfectly weighted ball to Gerrard on the edge of the area........Goal!!!!!!
"Every Liverpool outfield player was involved in the goal"
Pity about the deflection on Gerrards shot....otherwise could have been talking about goal of the season.
I had a drink in Liverpool City centre with a couple of Spanish friends who were well impressed with our play over the last few games.
Made me feel really good to listen their praise for our team and then ashamed when I know they read some of the posts on here.

Great post Kid!

Great post mate

ALLEN is already great Footballer. Read his stats and his control of the midfield, priceless. Our own great said to MU that no one win with kids(1993 ) but now we are towards the same path of greatness.

Joe allen is quality!,stop having a go.Anyone who knows anything about football know the lad is the business.I love our new look midfield, allen, sahin, sterling and suso with stevie g,much better than what we had last season.

Brilliant player,Im glad we've got him to be honest.14-15m will prove to be a snip within time.Look at the spam, how much did they waste on carrick and anderson, who aint fit enough to lace allen's boots. What i also like about the lad is he's very quiet, does'nt think he's the big i am and just gets on with his game,a real team player.Get off his back

hi ed's Please post.
Not a rumour but just a comment.
I wish all those peolpe out there slagging off Pepe Reina would open up their memory banks a bit.Twelve months ago Arsenal were sniffing round and everyone was praying that he would not leave, afterall, who could replace arguably the best keeper in the league? Although he has not had the greatest of starts this year I would not swap him for anyone. He has been top drawer for six years at this club and has got us out of more than a few spots of bother. It's now that he needs everyone's full support rather than the slagging he is getting from some quarters. I don't beleive how many people are suggesting he needs to be replaced.Wake up people and realise what a fantastic keeper we have between our sticks and back the lad.

I agree with whats said Pepe needs competition not relplacing.Pepe has been very loyal over the last few years and despite broken promises made by H&G about investment and no CL he has stayed .

That being said he has been poor this season but so has our defence in general .They are all making mistakes

kobi

Joe hart would be my pick if he were to be replaced, but i would sooner he found his form, and this isn't fifa. Lloris is a fine keeper warming the spuds bench

It's a pity Brad Jones made that early mistake against the baggies as he otherwise had a good solid game.
Hopefully Brad will play really well in the cup games and give Pepe something to think about. Seeing Brad playing well would surely heighten Pepe's focus and bring him back to form. Hope so..

I watched the game Saturday then again on football first just to watch some of the pure football we played. Our front 6 were unplayable. Suarez got the plaudits and rightly so but a special mention goes to sahin. There were 2 pieces of skill worth the entrance fee alone. A cheeky spin and back heel to sterling and a sliding tackle to win the ball only to get up and nutmeg the oncoming canary. If this boy recreates the form he showed in the German league then I have no doubt we can break into the top 4 with the rest of our super 6!

From this day forward, I will automatically hit the agree button whenever anyone used the phrase "nutmeg the oncoming canary." That is good stuff.

John CT

Lets not get carried away

We did play very good but norwich let us , they had no midfield but the young lads have not let us or themselves down well done to them all.ynwa

01 Oct 2012 18:33:51
Hey does anybody agree that if Suso carries on his great first team performances that he should be given the no:10 shirt?

Guys, get off Pepe's back and support the guy, give him a break!!!

And just strip Cole of his squad number?

Number 10 for suso and number 17 for sterling. I wish Allen took number 6, he's a number 6 type player lol.

01 Oct 2012 21:08:06
And Sterling to get #17

01 Oct 2012 21:29:21
Number 6 is a Centre Half, Allen is playing the traditional Number 4 role, albeit with 2 Number 8's in front of him.

It's just good to see the team not playing like eleven number two's like they were last season.

Numbers dont mean a right lot these days. Don't know why you're all so concerned with the matter.

I'd just like to say, its been a long long time since I've actually enjoyed watching Liverpool play, but since Rodgers took over at the helm, our football is so pleasing on the eye. Now we're getting the end product at the end of the Tika-Taka football, which is goals. What about you other true reds out there, what do you's think? In Rodgers We Trust.

Stevie.

Said all along have faith in br he knows what hes doing just need time to get his ideas across to the players and i can see the end product coming now onwardfs and upwards

Heard an interview with Rodgers at the end of last season on 5live,while acknowledging the accolades he was receiving while at Swansea he said he had won nothing yet & he was/is still learning comparing learning to walking up a mountain & that while at reading he had tried to run up the mountain & had fallen of the other side & spoke honestly of the effect his parents death had on his views on life,he came across as a intelligent & I was personally made up when he got the managers job at our club, think we will have a few more ups & downs to come but we are used to that eh? Think he is the man for us with the right philosophy,& he brought joe Allen with him!......jft96
Paisley's genius

01 Oct 2012 19:01:53
i think ridding us of last summers shambolic signings n adding class in allen n sahin along with actually giving suso n sterling a chance(gud enuf, old enuf) has improved us immensley , also giving shelvey a chance he deserves as d boy is further quality, just someone up top with luis and well be some side ,
5 gold stars

I started to enjoy even the football that Kenny played. only bad luck was preventing us then as we kept hitting the post.

nevertheless, with BR's reign, the missing cherry on the top has also come which is making me eat and have my cake too.

but again 1 game at a time

mgz

The only thing under Kenny we would run out of steam if we didnt score early.

Hi eds what do you think are the chances of Sahin signing permanantly? {Ed002's Note - It is not possible to say. At present there is no option. That may change next summer.}

It rests in Madrid's hands. Option A, Xabi leaves and they promise Sahin a starting role. Sahin, along with most other footballers, is extremely unlikely to turn that down. If he did, his price would be massive. Option B, no starting place at Madrid is guaranteed. Sahin would look for a permanent exit, and provided that he enjoyed his time with us, we would have priority and first refusal. However, he would not be sold for anything lower than £15m and more reasonably upwards of £20m. If the owners are unable or unwilling to pay, there will be no shortage of offers from around the Continent and the Premier League.

Hello Ed002,
I really think that Reina needs a new keeper to come in to challenge for 1st team, not next summer but asap. I respect Jonses but he won`t give Reina hard time. {Ed002's Note - The club has Gulacsi as well and if you don't want to give him a shot at it he may as well be sold off. I really don't see a goalkeeper as an immediate priority.}

Gulasci should be given a chance he did well at hull so I'm told. I was told that he has to beef up a bit though. Reina hasn't really been himself since he had surgery.

Watching the u21 game live on LFC tv and Im very impressed with the game today, we honestly have a wealth of talent coming through. Adorjan having a great game, his movement and possesion with the ball is very good, also he now's when to make the pass. Sama is a rock, Young Mcgluchalin (spelling) at Right back is amazing, he reads the game good and nows when to go forward and when to defend. Morgan netted a good goal but he wasnt that affective out on the right. good game and were 3-0 up

Also really good seeing BR down watching the game with suso and Pachaeo thats the way mangers should be. So I see a great future ahead and Im loving watching my team at the min, Its f**king amazing. came on here at the weekend and we have some muppets on slagging or questioning Allens contribution to the team, holly rubbish how fickle some of you's supposed fans are. we won and we won by playing some silky stuff so stop the whinging and get behind what happening, im buzzing still lol. Also Renia had his best game in a long time, one mistake he made, do we forget the 3 cracking saves at times when they really meant something in the game. So to all the trolls please please give all the real fans peace, cause use are starting to bore us big time

Scottybhoy1888 YNWA

Well said Scotty. My sentiments exactly mate.
JohnBoy

U also thought reina had a good game overall made some quality saves, and it was an error however worse have been made, shot was hit with power could have swerved a bit, reina player better in his last match, maybe next game he will improve and we will keep our first clean sheet

I don't think we will be playing brilliantly until Lucas is back fully fit.
I still think his injury was the difference between 4th and where we ended up last season.
Once he is back we will go back to having a water tight defence and start picking up points.
Dare I say he's now our best/most important player. You don't notice him when he's playing but when he's not the whole team falls to bits.
Everyone says how decent strikers can get you points but Lucas stops you losing them.

MIKEY

I agree with you to an extent Mikey.... Lucas was immense at the beginning of last season.
But who do you drop to get him in?
Allen has been excellent since coming in...
Gerrard is well, Gerrard!
And Sahin is just starting to show he may be world class...
Now I realise that we need strength in depth for our squad but we also have Jonjo, Hendo, Suso etc
Sounds like I'm just asking questions here so I'll give my opinion too....
I think if Lucas got back fully fit, to last seasons form then I'd have him, Allen and Stevie. Just don't like leaving out Sahin!!

Macko

Leave out biscan or leornardsen

Hi eds mikey i think your right, when lucas is back,i dont think we will b shipping in as many goals,at times when where playing you can see big gaps in midfield, which lucas closes up for us,really is a very important player for us,when he back we will defo not b letting in as many goals with him back. ray

Joe Allen will come forward and play with gerrard in front of the holding mid where I think he'll be even better. The others with have to compete for a space and of course they will have opportunities in the cups. Very healthy midfield
Owenll

Macko I would have Lucas as the first name on the team sheet, Allen would be second (I believe he will only get better with Lucas in the team as well)
That leaves us with gerrard, sahin and shelvey to be rotated in my opinion, with Henderson to come in sometimes incase of injurys etc.
I would personally start gerrard against the bigger teams (he only seems to show up for these) start sahin against medium strength teams (hes good enough to rip them apart) and shelvey against the
weaker teams. (so he gets games and he is still young enough to play his heart out against the weaker teams when more experienced players just seem to turn up and expect to win)
We have a very strong midfield this year but I think we need to rotate to get the most out of them and keep them fresh (especially gerrard)

MIKEY

Its not about lucas injury its about using the right person on his position, bit dalglish opted 4 spearing, if he wouldve gone 4 hendo, i think hendo wouldve been ready 4 this season, and w e wouldve got better result.

Hi eds, great site.
I was reading an article about the owners selling Red Sox for £600m. They have also said anfield will be extended, how would this be?
Also how much of this money would be put towards transfers? {Ed002's Note - I think you may well have mis-read something or been misled by something you have read.}

01 Oct 2012 14:49:19
Hey Eds, a personal question for you. With Xabi Alonso seemingly refusing to sign a new contract, would you rather we resign him when his contract at Madrid expires? or be able to sign Nuri Sahin on a permanent basis next summer? {Ed001's Note - Madrid have told him they won't be offering him a new contract, so it matters not a bit whether he would sign one anyway. Personally I love Xabi, but I don't think now is the right time for him to return, yes he is brilliant, but we need to move on. I would, however, love to seal Sahin on a permanent basis, if possible.}

Do you think the club would re sign Alonso if his fee and wages were reasonable ed?
Im with you in that I wouldn't sign him either, I would rather develop Henderson and shelvey and Allen. Although it would be great to see him back where he belongs.

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - I would doubt that Alonso will be at the top of any shopping list.}

I imagine he will be at the top of someone's shopping list ed002, maybe not liverpools but whoever gets him will be signing one great player and man.

MIKEY

Anyone else think that the players should have stood up to shake John Henery's hand when he met them in the RedSox changing room as shown in the documentary.

He is the owner and should (call me old fashioned) be given the upmost respect.

Long live the king

I was thinking the same, you can understand raheem as it is very young and probably shy. kelly and hendo were stood up talking to him whilst adam was slouching - good to see his band manors gone!

i know when my MD or Owner comes to my office i stand up to greet them.

YNWA REDHILL

It was indeed pretty rude and I'm sure not unnoticed by others. A little bit of respect for the guy signing your paychecks, lads...

Yes that was incredibly bad manners

I agree and was particularly concerned by Charlie Adam's response. Respect is a reciprocal etiquette in that the more respect you have for other people, the more likely other people are to respect you in return.

Red Owl

Listen to yourselves.

It really doesn't matter whose hand you shake - you do not shake hands from a seated position - ever

Puzzled

Do you mean like when John Henry didn't shake Kenny's hand at Wembley? That was the most bad mannered thing I have witnessed!

Has anyone noticed that when Sterling runs he waves his arms about like Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean - really funny, good player but it makes me laugh every time I watch him

I think he's still a bit chicken-ish. watch videos from when he was 15/16, his body has already improved so much, he looked (if i may say so) like a girl.

Have to admit I've noticed this as well, not really sure how to explain it entirely. I would say it's pretty similar in some ways to how Aaron Lennon runs though- maybe it's some weird by product of being small and fast?

Lennon likes a good flap as well, part of being a small tricky pacey forward.

Haha this is funny just because when i played sunday league a couple of years back when i was about 20 the lads i played with said i did sum funny flappy thing but i never saw it ps i wernt quick or skillfull haha

It's hard to believe that so many on here don't think that Allen is up to scratch, only passes backwards or always takes the easy option. Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but have they actually watched him play? The lad is like a machine - he hardly ever gives the ball away, is good at winning it back, can spot a pass, brilliant first touch, and runs his socks off. What more do people want? I was a bit dubious when we got him (bigger team and all that), but he has been magnificent. I know it's only a few games in to the season, but from what I have seen so far, keep it coming! And best of all, he is only 22.

Nick

Exactly mate, different players do different things. Allen does what he does brilliantly.

MIKEY

At the moment allen is trying to do lucas job,i dont think he can do it as good as lucas, but when lucas is back you will allen look for the forward ball more i not b sitting as deep,he is doing very well at moment and we see his game so much better when llucas returns, hope he is pool player for a very long time to come,we are really going to go places with this young team plz god we can hold onto them all,for good.ynwa

Well taken goal for Joe Cole playing for U-21's against Fulham.
He looks as though he has keeping his fitness level high

I could score for the under 21's

no to be fair i have really wanted Joe to succeed with us, he is a fine player but perhaps 5 years ago would have been a top top addition, i fear he is suited to the Italian league now though, very much cut it in France.

Morning eds, this may sound like a stupid question, why did we play in black away to norwich and not our famous red.As there wudnt of been akit clash, or is just a promo push on the away kit ? cheers great site by the way. {Ed002's Note - Clubs use away kits for away games unless there is a clash.}

01 Oct 2012 13:07:07
we did t play in black we played in purpel

I think cos refs and his assistants wore red

Red and yellow... It's not rocket science.

Im sure its stated somewhere that when you release a kit it has to be worn at least twice during a season! maybe it has something to do with that? scousedel

S**t... I think I like that kit.. Sorry...

Myk

3rd kit nice. 2nd kit terrible.

don't know whether any of you have had a glance today/yesterday at the United site but the majority have finally realised that the emperor has no clothes

Puzzled

Is that a metaphor for them finally realising he's a cheat?

I watched his post-match interview on motd and thought- not mocking here- that we'll soon see him pee his pants on the sideline, man, he looks wasted+ old, dangerous combination.

Now why would you even want to go on the Mancs site?Id have to disinfect my laptop.

Im assuming the emperor is whiskey nose. The old guy has lost the plot big time. Delighted to see him being abused by his own supporters, coz he is the reason Suarez has been branded a 'diver'. He is a vile and spiteful creature.
Indian Buzzer

No the reason Suarez has been branded a diver is because...he is a diver.

It's very clear that the manager does'nt rate any of kenny's signings apart from suarez.I think there time at the club is coming to an end. There maybe a glimmer of hope for henderson, but the rest, enrique, downing and carroll are simply not good enough and i expect they will move on.Also is it just me or does reina head seem to be somewhere else.I belive this is his last season.

01 Oct 2012 12:43:59
It's not that they aren't good enough. The problem is they don't fit the style of play Rodgers wants. RED LENIN

Or the style of play that kenny instigated judging by last season. Henderson I would keep for more than one reason. Enrique still can improve and he will be given his chances but like downing I think rogers has his sight set on their replacements. Carroll could've been part of something big happening at liverpool (team A and team B) and we would have a good chance of winning the Europa. Glad spearing and Adam are out.

OP is right. By the start of next season, the two uruguayans will be the only survivors of dalglish's ill fated reign. I do not see hendo at liverpool either. TBH, none of the british players dalglish bought were good enough. Glad we r getting rid of them.
Indian Buzzer

Make no mistake, i think hendo is a good player, but it seems he will never be a regular starter for us coz of allen, suso, shelvey and sahin(if he joins permanently). Its best for his career if he moves on. I would like to see spurs or arsenal take him, he would flourish there.

Response to Derryred and JohnBoy.
When Henderson has started games this season (only in Europe) he was played on the wing and was unsuprisingly ineffective. So Suso WAS played instead of him yesterday because he was on the wing but I was also referring to picking players on form compared to last season, when Henderson was constantly played on the right of midfield despite offereing nothing productive there.
I believe Henderson could be a fantastic player but he hasn't impressed in the limited oppurtunities he has had this season. When he comes off the bench he needs to do more than short, return balls to the people who passed to him.
Shelvey is a great example of this, comes on against Young Boys and scores 2, Suso is the same.

Jay

Its worth noting who assisted both of Shelveys goals. You are narrow minded. You all complain about refs judging Suarez on his past then do the same to Henderson. He was very bad on the whole last year, but this year in the few chances hes had, hes done very well.

YNWA (Adam)

Don't cry because someone disagreed with what you posted. Henderson has impressed me when played in midfield not on the wing. We know he ain't great on the right from last season. I'll reiterate that he's a quality performer who's a good replacement to have at the base of the midfielde. I don't believe that Joe Allen is the most expensive of players but he's still a quality performer, not rate him either? You keep making stuff up about Suso mate.
JohnBoy

You believe Henderson could be a fantastic player - WHAT!!

I assume you mean Joe Allen isn't the most EXPANSIVE of players.
I think Allen is a qaulity player who will only get better.
I think we would all agree that Henderson could be a great player if he was played centrally but that hasn't been the case and theres even more competition in that area this season.
I just think that its up to a player to impress no matter what position he is in, Suso is a an attacking midfielder but played well on the wing against Norwich, Wisdom is a centre back but was one of the best players against Norwich being played at right back.
Palyers need to take their oppurtunities and Henderson hasn't done that.

Jay

Expansive not expensive it were ment to be.
JohnBoy

Henderson is pants like the rest of k.k signings

If you wanna correct me on expansive learn how to spell players. Henderson's last start was against Young Boys in midfield, and had a cracking game were he got two assists amongst other things.
Henderson ain't a right mid never mind a winger so how you say Suso started before him is bull just to suit your argument. Suso is in the team on merit, nothing more nothing less. Assadi would be the next cab off the rank otherwise.
JohnBoy

My argument is that players are finally being picked on form which didnt happen last year, Henderson constantly disappointed but always started the next game which contributed to our awful league record.
Henderson isn't a right winger or right midfielder but neither is Suso, taken from the LFC official website "Jesús Fernández Sáez, aka Suso, is an attacking midfielder who officially arrived from Cadiz CF in the summer of 2010".
However he still impressed when played out of his preferred position which is something Henderson has never done.

One more thing, it's not Assadi its Assaidi.

Jay

Henderson has been playing in the midfield 3 not on the right. That was last season mate. When he has played there and if you look at his stats their the best in terms of passing and ball retention (Europa league games). He's like a downgrade of Allen which is why he used in our Team B and I feel confident when he is on the ball as oppose to last season. He's got a partnership with shelvey for club and country so there is more than one reason to keep him. I think he's improved. Our midfield as a whole is one of the best in the league (gerrard Lucas Allen Sahin shelvey Henderson suso). Why would you distrupt that.

Oh my lord you baby ha ha. All I was saying Henderson is a quality sub to have and you go trying to correct very minor spelling errors. I know what Suso's best or official position is. But he obviously can play on either flank in a front three. Henderson is a less attacking player then Suso and wouldn't be no where near the fit Suso is regardless of what position it says on the official site. At no stage in any post did I advocate Henderson being in the starting eleven, none bar when we play in Europe and in midfield and not the wing. Now keep looking for little mistakes it obviously floats your boat, but if I couldn't spell players like you cry baby I'd keep shtum.
JohnBoy

Henderson is not pants, its just that there is too much competition in our midfield and he is the most likely candidate to be transfer listed to make way for suso. Tidy neat player imo.

For those fans slating joe allen, quick question why?.The lad is quality,ok maybe he does'nt do anything spectacular, but what he does do is keep the ball very well, and keep the game flowing. He also makes a lot of interceptions, everything he does is vital in how we want to play.Everyone slated lucas not to long ago, wasn't untill he got injured that we realised what an important job he does.

Very true on both points, allen is quality and we did miss lucas when he got injured. Also sahin is class!.

01 Oct 2012 12:47:11
hes quality, like a safety blanket who passes soooo gud , gr8 player , him sahin gerard shelvey n suso will be gr8 midfielders for us, not to mention sterling n assaidi by looks of

Ed are we now in a position where some of he young players will be getting rested for the Euro matches?
Could we see some more played in these matches? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know who will play on Thursday.}

Seems like the tables have turned and the Europa league is a chance for the more experienced players to stake a claim for a starting spot at the weekend.
The likes of Downing, Henderson and Enrique need to start showing their ability soon other wise the next generation of players will be ahead of them too (Sinclair, McLaughlin etc).

I'm so impressed with our squad right now. Could anybody tell me which is Assaidi's strongest foot. Sometimes he cuts in on to his right foot like Sterling but at other times he hugs the touch line & crosses with his left foot. He "MAY" be a better option than Sterling on the right wing as Sterling has played on the right wing in the last 2 games. Either way with Assaidi/Suso Suarez Sterling our front should cause headaches for any team out there. SLODGE

Which is the strongest? the left or the right

there is only one way to find out!

Ed it must be obvious to Jay Spearing that he is never going to get into the team again, so my question is, did he know this in the summer and was playing a game for his own financial reasons, or was he just fooling himself that he still had a future with us? {Ed002's Note - It is a great pity that so many fans have so little gratitude for the Liverpool players.}

That why they are not true supporters ed.
RB

Ed002 gratitude works both ways we loved torres and what did he say allegedly, jay was never good enough but is a decent footballer and i for one wish him all the best

He loved Liverpool... Red thru and thru. Obviously didn't want to leave. Hardly a mercenary because of that?

You Arrogant Arse!
How can you judge a lad who's born and bred Liverpool. Who holds out hope that he will play for the club again when he's more than likely a bigger than than yourself.
Why the Ed gave you airtime is beyond me.

Lyndon

If I got my feet under the table at Liverpool I'd try everything I could to stay. You really can't blame him for that. He'll more then likely move on but until then leave the guy alone, he don't deserve to be someone's random thought transferred to here a f

You can all cut out the crap. at no point did I slag off the lad, despite the fact he has never been good enough. The fact he is a scouser has absolutely sod all to do with anything. How many scousers were there in our double side? how many english? It has nothing to do with where your from, it has to do with if your good enough.
I dont know if Enrique will make it or not, personally I have never been a fan, he might change. But for all you sheep who followed the crowd and thought he was brilliant 6 months ago, not one has come on here and supported him recently. Cowards!
The point I was making which was misunderstood was, BR made it clear he was no longer required and he managed to mees up the transfer. Will he now realise he is not in the clubs plans and decide to move on, releasing some much needed cash, or will we be in a position where he refuses to leave and we recieve nothing.
I hope the Lad goes on to do well, but effort and love for the club are simply not enough.

Disagree. Effort and Love for the club are good enough NOT to be constantly criticized. Let the lad move on with good memories and support from us supporters. He tried his best and we should thank him for that.

Your insinuation was that he could of stayed for cash when I really doubt his contact would be braking the bank in comparison to other first team squad members. And you cut the crap what's Enrique got to do with this?
JohnBoy

He's from Birkenhead and if you happened to be out in Birkenhead on a Saturday night and mention you're from Liverpool there's a chance you may take a leathering. Most of them do not like scousers lets get that straight. And as for Bobby Hill , the fact Bolton and Forest were chasing after him and not Barca or AC Milan kinda sums up the level of player he is and if you fill your team with mediocre players no matter how popular they may be , this makes for a mediocre team. Good shout about Enrique amigo , there's a bit of a witch hunt for him and Pepe and sadly you know what happens once the bandwagon starts rolling

Hi Ed, Question for you guys,
1) Whats with Flannagan is he injured or not deemed good enough by the coaching staff.
2) how highly do you or the other eds rate Sinclair compared to Morgan or Ngoo.
3) Jaoa Texerria why isnt he getting any mention or is he any good because I thought he was very good thats why we bought him
Thanks
Red 316 {Ed002's Note - All three players are reserve squad players who will get their opportunity as and when deemed approriate by teh manager. Much is expected of Sinclair, but he is still young.}

Flannagan seems a strange one, considering we have Enrique and Kelly injured. Wisdom has been promoted ahead of him but I thought he would have at least played in the Europa League or Capital One Cup.
Reminded me of a young Carragher when Flannagan played, committed and talented but still very raw and rash sometimes.

And my award for funniest quote of the weekend goes to.....Alex Ferguson.

"They gave four minutes. It is an insult. It is ridiculous. It is denying you the proper chance to win the football match"

Hilarious!

Not as funny as some of the stuff that Ian Holloway comes out with , but still lol material

K.Bennett

Yes, the referees didn't give him another 30 minutes. He has a right to be mad lol!
