I appreciate the term 'world-class' is a subjective term but who would you consider as wc in the BPL? For me, Man City have Toure, Silva and Aguero. Chelsea have Matic and possibly Hazard (although maybe a bit young and inconsistent to be considered world class) . Arsenal have one or two maybes? We haven't had anyone of that standard since Suarez left. Anyone else?

20 Dec 2015 23:18:19
Klopp.

20 Dec 2015 23:29:21
Arsenal have sanchez btw, and Leicester have mahrez, Also yaya is not world class. de bruyne should be mentioned before yaya. poor season this season but diego costa also. And Liverpool have mignolet! ) nah just kidding about that 1 :)

21 Dec 2015 00:04:50
Kompany is in my eyes. Ozil can be, but so can couts. As you said, is very subjective, but I believe if they can single handendly win games, then they should count. Suarez, messi, Ronaldo and maybe Neymar now, are next level.

21 Dec 2015 00:05:28
Sounds like you just started watching football this season Jay if you would consider De Bruyne, Mahrez and Costa world class. As I said, the term is subjective but it's got nothing to do with Player of the Season awards. Yaya Toure was quite rightly the first world class player that came to mind.

21 Dec 2015 00:09:39
Aguero, Sanchez, De gea, chech and coutois I reckon that's the prems lot in terms of world class. An by world class I reckon that means walk into the majority of top teams in Europe!

21 Dec 2015 00:11:09
De Gea, Willian, Lloris, Kompany and Coutinho.

21 Dec 2015 00:16:13
Chelsea and United have world class goal keepers to add to your list.
Our team is average, Coutinho is our best player and he's 3 seasons off being world class where we'll probably sell him anyway as is the norm.

21 Dec 2015 00:49:10
World class players for me are players who would get in a world XI:

Aguero
Sanchez
Kompany.

21 Dec 2015 01:19:18
Players who could influence / Change the outcome of a match single handedly are called World class

1. Chelsea - Matic / Hazard

2. Arsenal - Sanchez / Carzola

3 City - Aguero / Silva

4. UTD - De Gea

5. Liverpool - None.

21 Dec 2015 01:26:08
Depends how you define it, but going off the gets into world XI. then de Gea. maybe courtois.

As for Sanchez or aguero think they are behind saurez, ronaldo, messi and neymar are above them. maybe zlatan as well (hard to judge as plays in a dominate team in a weak league) .

Midfield wise iniesta, xavi, alonso, Vidal, Modric, reus. etc and don't think any defender has done the league proud this season!

21 Dec 2015 01:28:58
Actually completely forgot about neur. don't think any BPL player would make the world XI.

21 Dec 2015 01:30:06
Think Annie, Yaya Toure and Matic have both been poor this season, tho they were both excellent the season before, sad to say that our great team does not have any world class players, and that is why we are in 9th,
I just hope that we do sign one or even two players of that class, and can then include them in your list .

21 Dec 2015 01:57:59
Aguero would get into any team. Aguero, Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo are the 4 best players in the world IMO.

21 Dec 2015 04:18:30
i think you guys severely over rate aguero, just like sturridge he isn't half the time available, when he is he is great but so is sturridge, mancity struggle whenever he gets injured and it takes time for the next striker to blend in and get them going again. happened last season is happening this season too. they have an all out great team so they still land in top4 but i think with their quality they should be romping to the title every year but they don't because aguero isn't available. aguero is top player but to be world class you have to be superfit too, just my thoughts.
also suarez is a higher level to aguero. suarez is in the messi ronaldo league and just that his bad history brings him down. Luis suarez is wc, aguero is good, but his fitness is questionable. another player is zlatan everyone missed he is WC. for me another world class player in epl is hugo lloris, an excellent keeper.

21 Dec 2015 06:05:41
Appreciate your point redforever but Yaya is still world-class for me. Totti, Pirlo, Gerrard, Ronaldhino, all played with reduced powers in their 30s but had fully earned the right to be described as world-class. The same for Yaya Toure.
I can only think of Gerrard, Suarez and Torres (Mk I) as world-class Liverpool players in the past 5 years. Sadly, I think this is the first time since I started following Liverpool in 1977 that I cannot say we have a world-class player in our team.

{Ed001's Note - surely a world class player has to actually try more than one game a season? In which case Yaya has and will never be world class. He is more often a liability than he is a help to Citeh.}

21 Dec 2015 06:15:38
World Class! An overused statement. The Premier league have plenty of top top players but world class, no. In my opinion that belongs to Suarez, Messi and at the moment Ronaldo, that's it. Aguero, Silva, Sanchez, De Gea are all really great footballers but they wouldn't lace the top 3 players boots.

21 Dec 2015 13:00:39
Messi and ronaldo are the only 2 world class players at te minute, they've been doing it consistently for the last 5-6 years, And maybe suarez and Neymar for the last 2-3 seasons, and ibrahimovic has flashes when he feels like throwin a shift in.

20 Dec 2015 22:28:59
Anyone think we should just sell 5/6 players in January, maybe get 1/2 in, and then rebuild in the summer. If klopps seen enough to know they are not going to be in his future plans, why keep them? Try some youth players, use this season as a building block for a better next one.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

20 Dec 2015 23:23:19
Totally agree , but I think half the squad have been up for sale for the last 3 years it just goes to show that nobody wants them or more bluntly rates them, this has been going on for 20 years constanlty buying 10-15 average players every 2 minutes instead of the 1or 2 quality that we need, you can't even blame rodgers for that, it's been going on forever and the amount of players we've been linked with in the past that never seemed to get over the line, the next thing is there signed by another club in a Heart beat, it's laughable to be honest.

20 Dec 2015 23:36:00
I can see benteke going Klopp obviously doesn't rate him also Allen could go I'm not sure who else though, I hope Klopp has something up his sleeve because to many players look ordinary lately, Firmino is offering nothing Clyne is going backwards skrtel is doing is usual mistakes, Hopefully we can sign a powerful cb to stop these mistakes that have been happening for season after season for starters and maybe a good winger.

21 Dec 2015 00:08:14
I just think if he knows players like skrtel, enrique, mignolet, benteke, lallana and Milner aren't in his long term plans, sell them all. Bring in rossiter, teixiera, Sinclair, smith, and maybe buy a centre back and goalkeeper, and then see what's what come the end of the season. He may have decided on a few others, maybe a youth player will totally impress him, maybe they won't. But at least he'll have a core to build on, and implement his ideas, and his players. May give a good kick up the @rse too to the ones who think they are safe.

21 Dec 2015 00:17:49
The team will be completely different in 3 seasons and probably competing for the Champions League, Klopp Won't fail.

21 Dec 2015 04:29:46
sell coutinho, lallana, coutinho because he is our best player but he is always few and far . he goes on a streak and then a lull.
and i feel our play goes too much through him. and when he has a off day we struggle. also he sucks in the midfield to many short passes and then he runs with the ball and if he looses it our out of position midfielder are caught in a counter. it happens way too often. we could sacrifice coutinho to bring in a genuine winger. well tbh we have to sacrifice him to get the players we want. i like couts but the reality is he has good days and very long bad days and the only player in the team that would fetch us 25mill or upwards.
lallana because he is really struggling here at liverpool he is working hard and give him credit he wants to work hard but it is not happening for him. he is not a winger and i think midfield would suit him best but we have midfielders.

{Ed001's Note - why sell the best player because those around him are simply not good enough to be on his wavelength? Get better players alongside Coutinho and he will put in better performances more regularly.}

21 Dec 2015 04:51:16
eds i know but can we afford them. anyone sees liverpool bidding and the price goes up like crazy. without selling coutinho can we manage a big signing? i see a constantly disgruntled coutinho when players around him can't make a clever pass or move the ball very slow around him and then he gets outnumbered, he is almost pissed off 50 minutes of the 90 minutes and it effects his game. as everyone says he is like silva but we don't have any width. i mean the number of time an uncontrollable pass is fired at him at the flanks just shows we can't utilise coutinho.

{Ed001's Note - we have other players to offload and quality does not have to cost a huge fee.}

21 Dec 2015 05:01:34
cheers on that. i think the summer of 2016 would be interesting. klopp might actually go for a clearout.

{Ed001's Note - I would expect so, we have too many players.}

21 Dec 2015 02:54:50
I agree klopp will bring us to a title challenge but there is going to be days like today until he gets his own players in imo too many players not proud enough of badge on their chest.

20 Dec 2015 21:35:24
We re nearly half way through the season and what a crazy season it has been.
With so many underdogs performing at a fantastic level it's got me thinking.

1) why are the wealthier clubs struggling so much to dominate?
2) are wealthy teams paying way over the odds for bang average players?
3) do the players from smaller clubs want it more?
4) are all the usually dominate clubs getting there tactics wrong?

There must be some logical reasons as to why so many games are being won by the underdogs?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2015 22:31:10
I think effort is one, but the likes of deeney he is big powerful quick and skilful, he would cut it at the big clubs in my eyes. The top defenders are trained to play against the agueros, Sanchez's and that, and maybe he crouch's and girouds but when they have so much power, hunger and ability it is hard to play against.

20 Dec 2015 23:08:32
We have arguably one of the biggest strongest most powerful striker in the league.

20 Dec 2015 23:10:18
Defenders surely have to deal with whatever is put in front of them? It seems as though the usual top 6 clubs don't have an answer for the smaller clubs who generally play counter attacking football and or exploit set pieces? Possession wise they are happy to take 30-40% but then make their few chances count. So therefore their defence is strong and their attacks effective. How are supposedly better or more expensive players and managers unable to come up with a plan to over come this? I mean mouriniho, van gaal, Klopp, pelligrinni, wenger have all drawn a blank? ( perhaps not wenger)

21 Dec 2015 04:36:40
Depending on how you view it, ie: glass half full or empty, either the standard of players in general is getting better and the gap between say our players and watfords for example has gotten smaller, teams are more closely matched. That's where having either players in brilliant form like Vardy, Mahrez, Ighalo etc or having players that are real quality like Sanchez, Ozil, De bryne, De gea etc are making the difference and having a bigger impact. If 2 teams are out on the field with 1 having 11 let's call them prem quality players, the other team having 9 prem quality players but 2 either in red hot form or pure class that's where the difference is.

It's also about each teams circumstances whether there injury hit, how many games are they playing or squad depth, new manager, overall team form and performances, are they learning different styles of play, fitness and let's say there's 3 types personal, match and mental, and confidence, do they trust each other, recent results, is there team over or under performing.

take us for example, let's say we field 11 prem quality players ( leaving player opinion out of it for now) of which 2 are returning from injury, say 2-3 have played nearly every game in the league and cups, there all learning a new system, we have a new manager, our recent results havnt been flash resulting in low confidence not only as a whole, where we can't seem to keep a clean sheet as a team or score either with individual brilliance or by breaking the opposition down. But confidence individually players know there not performing and are effected by it. Our fitness is lacking, was at the start of the season, Klopp comes in every starts playing like their very lives depend on it and that takes it toll and quickly too, 1 or 2 of these as minor issues can be overcome but we have a raft of them and there effecting nearly every player in our squad, then we play Watford with there 11 prem quality players who are flying high, have won four in a row, there near the top of the table, there relatively fresh and fighting fit for there style of play, full of confidence and belief in themselves and each other and BAM BAM BAM they win 3-0 whilst looking a class above.

20 Dec 2015 21:19:07
Ed 2, just following on from Big Al's post.
With the new TV deal set for next season and the increased revenue from the extended stand, would we still need to "sell" to buy ok the summer or would we still be in potential breach of FFP?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - 2017 sees the new money, additional money from the stand is trivial - at least until the significant loans are paid off. Liverpool has lived well beyond its means for years and needs to sort itself out going forward. The owners are not in this to keep throwing good money after bad.}

20 Dec 2015 19:36:58
Well there you have it, the mercenary modern day footballer's, only turn up for the big games, no fight, no fire in their belly's and capitulate with such ease. Thank God we have Klopp to sort the men from the boys.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2015 19:53:25
It's not about fight, its about (lack of) quality. In our three good performance teams played very open and weren't ready for our very aggressive pressing game. When we have a lot of possesion of the ball and have to create chances not from interception or defenders mistakes and defend counter acttacks you can see our lack of quality on every department.

20 Dec 2015 19:57:17
It's up to the manager to motivate the team.
If they are not in the right frame of mind then they should not be playing, put the youngsters in if that's the case.

I think it's too easy to blame the players. Klopp got his tactics/formation wrong again. 1 up front against Watford, Newcastle, Palace and WBA = 1 point from 4 winnable games. 2 up front at Saint Mary's = 1-6 win.

20 Dec 2015 20:47:00
What was our formation against City and Chelsea Ron?

20 Dec 2015 21:31:48
I think you missed Rons point entirely Higgins. What works against 'big' teams doesn't work when you come up against teams that readily cede possession.

20 Dec 2015 20:20:35
Klipp got it wrong but he's still a young coach to this league and he will learn.

He went with the team that played so well against city but this was a different proposition and really needed a focal point in benteke.

20 Dec 2015 20:47:42
You blame the players now and not the manager or tactics. 6 months ago you blamed the manager and not the players.

20 Dec 2015 21:52:48
I think you can still see against teams such as Newcastle, Wba, Watford and Palace that Liverpool are meant to dictate the play, have possibly more of the ball but are unable to break these teams down. Against City and Chelsea especially away from home will attack Liverpool and that suits our team at the moment.

For all the attacking players we have we don't have the David Silva type player that can take out a defence with one pass. A lot of dinky ball players tho, overloaded with those. Todays match? Every bit a bad as the 3-0 drubbing against the Hammers, not much has changed and the honeymoon period is over for Jurgen. i'm sure he knows now how much work he has to do. Cheers.

20 Dec 2015 22:38:15
Exactly Big Ben.

I have a question: how can it be a lack of quality if we can beat City 1-4 at Etihad and Chelsea 1-3 at Stamford bridge and Saints 1-6 at St Mary's? You need quality players to get those results.
How can it be a lack of quality against Watford, WBA, Palace and Newcastle?

As for the 'David Silva' type player, I'd say Coutinho fits that description.

20 Dec 2015 23:44:21
Ron, as all of us keep saying, City, Chelsea and Saints played very open, trying to dominate and were surprised with our pressing. When we are the team which has most of the possession and the other tean defend in numbers and counter attack we are lost. This was the case in most our games this season under both Klopp and BR.

21 Dec 2015 00:25:50
So fano, you have to agree it is not a case of lack of quality why we ship 3 goals against Watford.
Watford do not have more quality than us.
It's tactical.

21 Dec 2015 00:39:29
Yes they have Ron - this is the sad reality. They are stronger, faster, defend better, cross better, pass better, control the ball better and finish better. Every player in their team was better than every player in our team today. If you are a watford supporter would you swap Ingalo and Deeney for any of our forwards? Surely you will not take any of our defenders or our keeper.

20 Dec 2015 19:08:59
Credit to Watford. They play to their strengths and they played the conditions much better than us. It's a learning curve in the EPL for Jurgen Klopp; some individual performances could have been better over the last few games and a fully fit Sturridge plus Ings and Gonez would help. We've a lot of training time and matches to play before we can come anywhere near consistency with a new system and coach. People would be well advised to stop making us out to be world beaters after the likes of City and also rans after the likes of today. It's going to take time; the squad is unbalanced and bloated so it's not going to be a quick fix. At the moment 3 wins from 4 for any team will have them roaring up the table so let's not over react.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2015 19:53:18
Exactly, Istanbul! We need to take it one game at a time and remember that we are still a work in progress and it will be a roller coaster season,

20 Dec 2015 20:00:50
Which direction is this "learning curve" going as the performances are getting worse.

20 Dec 2015 21:08:00
Are you seriously suggesting we can string 3 good performances together, let alone 3 wins together at this current stage. Maybe at one point in the season but this far that is a moot point. I don't think we will ever be consistent this season so top 4 would be a miracle. Let's still be optimistic but realistic at the same time shall we.

20 Dec 2015 21:13:34
Anything positive to say Ron or are you just interested in slating the team? Just as a reminder we still have the same players that under performed under BR. There are clear signs of improvement and we can expect a few bad results as JK gets to grips with the English game and the players that he has inherited.

20 Dec 2015 23:09:30
Individual mistakes are getting worse and we've had the likes of Firmino struggle to settle; plus we are now stuck with Benteke and wondering how to use him without wingers while also "realising" his movement is zero. Anyone that thinks Rodgers has left any manager with a decent hand is fooling themselves. Our best back 4 and number 1 keeper would struggle to get in most previous LFC teams squads let alone starting slots. Most of your posts Ron have something in them but anyone that doesn't realise how sh!te the situation is for Klopp is fooling themselves. Our squad is full of average over paid players; its going to take Klopp 2/3 windows to get the squad trimmed and filled with quality first teamers aligned with our quality youth.

21 Dec 2015 00:27:19
Our players are not worse than Watford, Palace, Newcastle and WBA yet we got only 1 point from those teams.

21 Dec 2015 00:36:11
If you notice, I'm not slating the team, I'm saying we put out the wrong team and we lost for tactical reasons.

What is Klopp scared of? If he's scared by playing 2 up front we might lose to the likes of Watford, Newcastle and Palace well he needs to wake up and smell the coffee because we got hammered by those teams.

He plays 2 up front against Saints, produces the best result/performance for 2 years and then writes that system off? Totally confused and frustrated.

20 Dec 2015 15:52:12
Hi eds! Januari is coming up and a lot of talk about different transfers. Would love a summarise from you with the transfers that could happen.

cheers!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I will update it in a couple of days once everyone gets over today and all of the nonsense posted.}

20 Dec 2015 18:18:14
Think everyone needs to calm down and expect very little in January unless we get some ridiculous offer for Benteke or Coutinho in order to have money to spend?

20 Dec 2015 17:21:13
I'm not one for the next season is our year brigade, but last season, every loss, really put a downer on my day. Now, I have no doubts we will improve, and games like today make me think that klopp will see what's wrong and learn from it rather than keep going with the same mistakes. He is not influences by egos, he won't put up with under performing players and I have faith that he will sign players that will improve the squad and not just another player. I wouldn't mind coming 8th this season, outside the Europa league spots, or challenge for top 4. If we are going to be like this every other week, focus on the Europa league and cups. Especially with Leicester, Watford and palace playing so well, I think it'll be hard for this team to climb up drastically. But as I said before, I have absolute faith in klopp to build a great squad, and even though it might be over a few years, climb up the table. Look at pochetino, he's been allowed time, and has built a young hungry squad, and although they still have off days, they will improve a lot too.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

20 Dec 2015 17:04:38
The live chat was great but slightly bad. Guys you are suppose to comment about the game and some of yall were getting your knickers twisters and I had to dodge someones frustration.
As for a whole new team needed. No we do need a few areas seriously improved not a whole new 11. Whether we will be able to buy in January or not is another story.
I keep going on about texeria but I hope Klopp looks at the likes of texeria and smith really closely and takes a chance on theM.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

20 Dec 2015 17:14:53
The poster y2k3 had some appalling language and abuse at players and I think he should have an official warning that if he does that again, he's off. Eds?

{Ed001's Note - the file is saved and will be reviewed so that people can be banned if needed.}

20 Dec 2015 17:16:22
There is always a risk putting in young players, but give Texeria a chance in place of Firmino please, no big risk here, Firmino is a passenger at the moment.

20 Dec 2015 17:27:56
Firmino is definitely a passenger does nothing to contribute to our team at the moment, I hope klopp has some plans for us because we are lacking ideas, hopefully he will sign maybe 2 players to give us a boost. centre half hopefully is 1 position he should fill.

20 Dec 2015 17:40:51
At 20 odd million I feel ripped off with firmino our transfer committee should bt mae acountable for him. He is totally out his depth and llooks a passenger.

20 Dec 2015 18:10:35
^^
Firmino cost according to the man himself Edd002 €41 million rising to €50 million.

20 Dec 2015 18:36:21
To be fair he came with a big reputation and from a physical league, and I will admit I was really pleased when he signed, but so far next to nothing, seems lightweight and uninterested.
If things aren`t happening for you at least get involved in the game defensively and run your socks of to contribute something towards the team effort.

20 Dec 2015 18:56:01
the entire team has been average since we sold Suarez.
Klopp will get it right though. Sadly it's going to take a couple of years because the squad is so so bad.

21 Dec 2015 00:08:51
Firmino been played out of position by klopp. He is attacking midfielder not false 9, he has never played false 9 before for hoffenheim.

21 Dec 2015 00:47:11
People overreacting as usual.

I'm not worried about Firmino. We've seen his brilliance in a few games, but also he's been inconsistent.

Firmino has previously played false 9 and as a 10 for Brazil, with good results (scored a few for Brazil in the Copa) .

I think Klopp was right to re-unite the City attacking trio of Firmino, Coutinho, and Lallana, but they had a bad game.

My worry, of course, was that they would simply have a bad game (they did), and people would be cursing and calling for Firmino's head (once again) .

I hope this doesn't deter Klopp from trying these three again.

Firmino has barely played half of a *single* season, and people want to sell, despite glimpses of his talent/potential against City, Chelsea, and then a few great games in Europa/CC (are people forgetting his many filthy nutmegs already? ) .

I'm not saying Firmino is Suarez, but if people can, you know, think back a few years to 2011; in his first season, Suarez showed some brilliance but more often than not, couldn't hit the broadside of a barn (anyone else remember his missed penalty versus Sunderland? Skying it? The ball just landed last week) .

Fans need to get a grip. Seriously. Firmino is going to be a top player for us. Give him at least a season, FFS.

20 Dec 2015 23:27:39
Just went on to the live chat during the match to see what the craic was and it was madness at one stage. A bar fight during a spaghetti western film came to mind. If it wasn't a liverpool game I'd have found it funny but we are all suppose to be liverpool supporters. I'm all for expressing our opinions but some of the abuse towards players and each other was a bit much. Still won't stop me logging into the next one as I think it's a great idea.

20 Dec 2015 16:11:13
Hi Eds,

Anyone know where's Steven Mendoza is from?

He has scored 13 in 16 gamed and Chennainfc has won ISL 2015. He could be of use to us.

Nothing special to mention abt the game today.

Unlucky debut for Bogdan. Poor guy.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - He is Columbian and moving in January - but not to Liverpool who are already overrun with forwards.}

20 Dec 2015 16:28:42
The ISL final was a stark contrast to the Liverpool game. Mendoza is a Colombian youth international and he stands out in India and will be moving this January.

20 Dec 2015 12:30:14
In regards to Sinclair who is rumoured to be a target for Man City does he really think he could make the starting line up of any big team?

Surely his current ability and experience means he will probably only make the starting line up of a low down championship club or League 1 team?

If he really wants first team football he needs to think long and hard about it as he won't get it in the Premiere League and will have to drop down a division or 2 to get that.

In my personal appearance I think we should let him go as we have better option within the sqaud and he is never going to make it at Liverpool.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

20 Dec 2015 16:30:07
What he or his agent thinks mean little use to us if he leaves. I agree that he has failed to hit the heights that were expected of him when he moved from the U18s to the U21s and now is asking ridiculous money for a senior contract. Good bye Jerome.

Loved Barnes, what a player, him, Beardsley and aldo up front in that late 80's team was some of the best football I've ever seen.

My favorite player; if only he didn't have the achillies problems - right up there with the best!

I also grew up in new zealand - Hutt Valley - and often watched LFC ahead of rugby. My friends would get up on a sunday morning to watch an all blacks game from the day before and i'd be watching MoTD. Digger was my hero too.
I got to see them eventually and so will you mate.

Regarding Benteke, Chelsea already took Fernando off our hands for silly money and got burned. Given we paid 32.5 million for him only months ago Chelsea would surly have to get near that figure to buy him which seems pricey given current form. Personally I don't think he suits our style as a club, or suits the other players we have. We want a technically excellent wee guy up top in the dalglish/fowler mould. Klopp deserves some money to spend, so let's hope Big Ben goes russian and klopp has a gem to replace him in mind.

Benteke deserves at least a season at the club to prove himself. I was one of the many who didn't want him in the first place but we need to support him now he is a LFC player. But i do agree with u that he is not the answer to our goal scoring problems. We overpaid massively for him and i really do not see Chelsea or any other club for that matter paying that sort of money for him. If they do in January, then he should be sold and replaced with someone who Klopp actually wants.

20 Dec 2015 09:08:38
Hes had his chance too slow too lazy .

20 Dec 2015 09:30:16
If we do sell him, let's hope it is not on deadline day and then go out and panic buy a replacement.

20 Dec 2015 09:49:50
ya I had to agree with Ed 02 regarding this matter! Some Liverpool fans are absolute disgrace!

come on! sell a guy who hasn't even completed a single season, who was injured for quite a bit, who had to adjust in a new team, under a new manager, in a new system!

its plain ridiculous!

20 Dec 2015 10:23:24
Collins it isn't about getting rid. If it is true and Chelsea come in with a significant offer the club has to look at its options I. e is there players in January available that would improve us and whether benteke should be kept. But it is all hearsay.
Wouldn't mind any money coming in saved on a mahrez bid 😉.

Lacazette is the player i want us to spend the money on (if Benteke is sold of course) . Very versatile player and good pace with movement. He could be for us what Vardy is to Leicester. Unfortunately with Benteke, we cannot play the high intensity football if our main striker remains rooted to one spot for 89 minutes of the game.

20 Dec 2015 10:57:56
Damn right we should listen to offers for benteke if reports are true ( although I don't believe them) .

Lads it's not about fans being disrespectful its the fact that he should never have been bought.

The style we want to play doesn't suit benteke when he plays we never look like getting around the back of the of the defence, instead we cross the ball to fifty pence p head who's being marked by 3 defenders.

20 Dec 2015 11:01:52
Where have these rumours come from?
I can't see Chelsea wanting Benteke, but if they did I would sell for anything over £30m.
Benteke hasn't had long. This is true and he hasn't done too bad; but he doesn't really fit in our system. He's very static especially when we haven't got the ball. He would have to be replaced as Sturridge has too many injuries and Ings is out for the season.
I'd prefer a loan signing, can't think of any names though.

20 Dec 2015 12:11:45
This is wrong, give Benteke time.

20 Dec 2015 09:04:31
Apparently the rules applies to Chelsea as well. They would have s new manager in the summer, y would they buy a striker now?

20 Dec 2015 15:27:35
Actually i feel our answer up front could be Ings.

20 Dec 2015 17:19:12
Indian Buzzer,

What has Lacazette done this year?

He's been ordinary at best and not the second coming like some fans on here think he is.

Benteke has 4 goals and Lacazette has 6 goals.

Really nothing in it.

What are fellow reds thinking on rumours of Jose not taking a sabbatical and returning straight to football.
Do you reckon he'll go to UTD?
Would he be a success?
Would this be the biggest shock ever?

I'm a Liverpool fan through and through and Mour is undoubtedly a great manager.
And I would love for the premier league to become a power house in football again.
With all the best managers and all the best players (Klopp, Mour rumours of Pep and Simeone and Ancelotti) I'm not saying these are coming but there is rumours, imagine all these managers managing in the EPL they'll attract top players!

I just think we have to keep the best of the best, I think it'll be great.

What are your guys thoughts?

Couldn't care less what he does.

20 Dec 2015 09:25:37
I hope he doesn't go to Utd, I agree that he is a great manager but utd are doing just fine at the moment under van gaal 😉 and I'm sure most if not all pool fans would agree with me we hopefully after Christmas wel be above Utd in the table we don't want him tryin to get them back to the top

Cant wait for the game today a win and were right back in the mix

Exciting times ahead. YNWA.

20 Dec 2015 09:46:19
I want Van Gaal at Utd. That combo provides some good laughs and help me get over my disappointment if LFC screw up.

20 Dec 2015 10:46:11
Jose plays a similar style to Van Gaal to be fair. I can see why Utd fans would want a change. They have some exciting players that are being shackled, but Jose doesn't play that exciting football his teams are methodical also.

20 Dec 2015 11:04:58
Van Gaal is having a rough time for sure but IMo is a very good manager. Maybe not right for Utd, or in our case he is the right man :)

20 Dec 2015 11:05:00
Not bothered.

I do think he wants that job more than any other.

Carlo is off to Munich, Pep is nailed on to go to Man City IMO, Chelsea will go for Simeone so that leaves Pellegrino to Atletico 😃.

20 Dec 2015 13:28:02
Benteke has not even had half of a season. Scored a few good goals. The constant reaction of some supporters is ridiculous. The guy needs and deserves time. To get rid of him now would be stupid and a waste of money which LFC can't do anymore. Give him a season or 2.
