Hopefully RM go for aguero and leave Luis alone till the summer. If he has an incident free year ( I can dream can't I!) then his value should increase to what it should be 60+

I also don't think we should accept players as part exchange as they won't want to on board with the vision and will disrupt the group

For me right now Suarez is pressing against the top two in world football, whilst Ronaldo rockets on as one of the best ever. If we were to sell him for anything less than £65m it would be criminal. Yes he has his serious problems but Cavani went for £60m at the same age, Bale, OK was younger by two or three years, but went for £85m. And the thing with Suarez is he isn't over reliant on pace so could play at the top level until his mid 30s.

I can honestly say I don't think the gulf in class between Messi and Suarez is very much at all. Messi scored his eighty four goals in one year, leading to Maradona comparisons, but that's a much tougher feat in the Premier League.

In fact the only player I'd swap Suarez for in the world is Ronaldo, the man's a machine, and his heading is second to none.

But if Real Madrid were to offer £50m after paying that for Bale, I'd laugh in their face.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Suarez's value doesn't depend on what Real Madrid paid for Bale or what PSG paid for Cavani. He is worth what LFC are prepared to accept for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody would pay such for suarez with all is baggage right now.if he can keep scoring goals this season without getting into trouble we can get close to 60m at best

Agree0 Disagree0

So u wouldn't swap suarez for messi! Really! Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Messi is the best player on the planet he is better than Ronaldo your saying suarez is better than Messi but not Ronaldo is crazy world player of the year 4 years is a record and they speak for themselves in love Luis but seriously chap take Messi everyday the week

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo is clearly a better footballer than messi dezyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

I wudnt swap suarez for anyone . don't need to. fact is he's doing it for us and that's alrite, i'm sure messi and ronaldo would have x amount of goals and champs lges in the current lfc team? I think not! so luis is an animal for us, no need for swapsies

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I'm not saying Suarez is better than Messi, I just feel for us, now, only Ronaldo would be better than Suarez.
I know it's cliched but I can see Messi getting frustrated against your Huths and Shawcross' of the world.

Don't get me wrong Messi is great but I don't think the comparison's with maradona are justified until Messi shows he can do it against different defenses- for instance at a World Cup or in serie a, and Maradona did both

Ronaldo on the other hand is such a top all round athlete which is vital for top bpl players and has stood out as one of the best in both leagues

Agree0 Disagree0

In fairness you would swap any player for messi or Ronaldo but agree that saurez isn't far off Messi at all. If you think about it saurez gets about a goal a game over the past year or so and we finished outside the top six. Messi is possibly the best of all time but he does have a lot of advantages that saurez doesn't. He plays more games (champions league), he plays for the best team in the world, he has grown up playing their way and has had a team built around him since he was 20, barca average +60% possession with some of the most creative players to make chances for him, la liga is less demanding and tends to be more open, the difference between the bottom half la liga teams and barca is massive ( even compared to the difference in our league, see how often barca/real/A. Mad put +6 past them), and messi takes pens (admittedly saurez isn't as good at pens). I believe messi is the better player but if you look at all that messi has to help him and how much saurez had to do by himself last season (esp before we got coutinho & sturridge) he isn't miles off! Also sorry to rant on but also don't think messi has clearly been the better between him and CR7. Think the year real won la liga CR7 deserved the ballon d'or, messi got more goals but CR7 scored in both El classicos (which won them the title) and scored in both semi final legs against bayern (only lost because Ramos put it his penalty into orbit) whilst messi didn't against Chelsea and missed the penalty against them, so CR7 didn't get as much but scored the bigger goals. So should be 3-2 in ballon d'ors and imagine CR7 will win it this year

You're delusional if you think Ronaldo is better than Messi. The year Ronaldo won la liga, Messi scored more goals than any other player to have ever played in Europe. The only reason why Ronaldo stands a chance this time is because Messi has been injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't say delusional, just don't think messi has been better then Ronaldo constantly for 4 years straight. Couldn't find total goals for the year but for that season Ronaldo had 60 and messi had 73. Fair enough he scored more but it's who and when you score the goals that counts to me, Ronaldo scored the goals that won both El classicos and gave them the league title. Messi didn't score against Chelsea (if I remember correctly) in either legs esp since Chelsea when the went down to 10 men and when he had a chance from the penalty spot. Not saying it is entirely his fault but Barcelona should have beat Chelsea when the went down to ten and again when the were given a penalty (not to take away from Chelsea's team effort). Fair enough real lost to bayern but Ronaldo scored in both legs (he may have got two in one, I can't remember) and converted his penalty in the shoot out, can't blame him for Ramos blasting it over the bar. I appreciate messi got more goals but I think who and when you score them does make a difference. For example would be more impressed with someone scoring a goal in a final then two hat tricks against weak opposition. Ronaldo won them that league title and took them to within touching distance of a CL final, which for me was more impressive.

Agree0 Disagree0

The best player on the planet actually is Messi, the second is an injured Messi and the third it's Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo doesn't come close to Messi seriously your deluded (a quote from ed002) if you think that ballon d'ors don't lie, you don't get them out of a cereal box

Nice one Blood Red. But on a serious note Messi has deserved all his Ballon D'or titles. The only reason people give him so much stick is that he has set a standard of footballing excellence that no one has reached. On an individual level and on a team level, Messi and Barca has consistently done better than Ronaldo and Madrid for the last four years. I'd be surprised if Ronaldo wins this Ballon D'or because for all his rich vein of form, Madrid finished second in la liga, a about 12 points behind Barca, and currently trail them by 6 points. He has won nothing this year and had scored lesser goals till Messi's injury in late September. Is two month of fantastic form enough to make you the best in the world?

Agree0 Disagree0

It shouldn't matter what team they play for or what trophies they win. The award is for the best player, and that's messi and will probably be messi for as long as he is playing football. He's been injured but has still been the best player over the last year.
Ronaldo would have won the award year on year out if he wasn't unfortunate enough to be playing in the same generation as arguably the best player ever. Let alone in the same league as him.

I remember a fan from Egypt mentioned salah as a target now we are interested in him if your out there what type a player is he?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The Egyptian fan is Malak. Perhaps he will pop in later to give a review? I do remember Malak mentioning Salah as someone to watch out for, but he also said Salah was not perhaps ready for the PL.

Hi, you're right AG mate. I remember it was last year when the spuds were to play basel and I posted a post about him before that game saying he will destroy the spuds "joking" but he actually did that and it was the first anyone here heard of him.

Dezy he is a left footed playmaker who usually plays as a false winger on the right for Basel, but for Egypt he plays as a false nr.9 or as a nr. 10 but also often on both wings.
He is 21, has 30+ caps already and 20+ goals for Egypt already.

He has extreme acceleration, will run all game, and has so much ability on the ball he will sometimes leave defenders humiliated. He also has the ability to score some cracking goals.
Very experienced for a 21 year old and yes he maybe wasn't ready 1 year ago but he definitely is now in my opinion and if we don't get him we will truly and honestly regret it for years to come.

I have watched African football for years and he is one of the most exciting players ever and with no doubt the best Egyptian player ever.
SIGN HIM UP. he will make townsend look like downing. Peace

Agree0 Disagree0

"Sign him up. He will make townsend look like downing". That's the quote of the day for me. Hope it all comes true like you described Malak.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean he's even better than Mido?

Agree0 Disagree0

Malak at this rate ill be getting him on the back of my jersey you have me sold

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Nov 2013 09:59:49
Mido at his best (when he was at ajax with ibrahimovic) couldn't reach 30% of Salah's ability. Mido was and is a complete joke in my opinion and retiring at 28 because he is too fat to play professional football says it all really about what kind of player and character Mido is. Also Mido has 19 goals for Egypt in over 10 years playing for the national team as a striker. Salah has already surpassed that in less than 2. Mido doesn't even rank in the top 40-50 best Egyptian players of all time.
Only reason he became famous was because he ran away to Europe as a 17 year old and sadly Egypt doesn't produce too many European based pros so he was always overhyped for no reason and it got through to his head and then his stomach obviously:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Malak, I was bring sarcastic mate. you're right, Mido was a complete plonker. Unfortunately I don't have much faith in Arab players - most of them seem to lack the dedication and team ethic required to make it at the highest levels. I don't doubt their ability, just their attitude.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Nov 2013 14:42:11
You're completely right redmist, and that's why I think Salah is completely different from the likes of Mido etc.
He played for a team near the drop when he was 17 and when the big 2 clubs in Egypt came for him he refused and wanted to stay because those clubs would make it much harder for him to move to Europe. He has been improving all the time as well. Only time will tell I guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen Salah play and he looks an exciting prospect with bags of talent. For me however he lacks that killer touch in the final third, guess that part of his game can be developed and will get better with time though. But given what we would probably have to pay for him we might be better off spending a little more and getting the finished article.

Tough weekend for the big teams, some possible point droppers.
Arsenal v south
City v tott
Utd away to Cardiff won't be easy.
If we win we could top going into 3 games that we shouldn't loose. Come on boys!
YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Our game is tougher than that of United's. Hope you open your eyes to see that! Hoping for a win but draw doesn't sound bad as Everton are a stronger team than before and they're playing some good football as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

When was Evertons last home loss

Agree0 Disagree0

@dezyboy,
If i'm not mistaken Chelsea beat them December last year. I think that's the last time they lost at home. They will be very confident but if we play to the best of our ability I think we can get a result

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure Arsenal will not beat Southampton.

hi eds
ed01 could you please tell me did Liverpool actually offer the managers job to martinez, which he turned down, and then went for brendan and if this is true is it not a bit classless the way he keeps bringing it up all the time and rubbing the fact that he was wanted by Liverpool before they went for brendan. {Ed001's Note - no he did not get offered the role, he was asked what he would require in terms of wages and transfer budget etc. That was it. No job offer was made to be turned down at all.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Nov 2013 13:35:16
We're over loaded with quality at the center back position my question is would everyone mind if we sold agger for 25+30million {Ed002's Note - You are deluded.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think realistically we are talking £17m - £18m for some reason Liverpool players however good they are do not sell well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we not reject 25 from man city before ed? Think it was Rogers first year in charge that's where I got the figure I'm aware Monaco were looking at him for maybe 14million {Ed002's Note - Yes there was an offer a couple of years back. You need to forget the values - it simply causes confusion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want to sell Agger. He is our vice captain, one of the best CB in Europe and the guy loves LFC. There is no reason to offload him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear hear Blood Red!

Ed's - Please who's decision was it to let Tom Ince go? everytime I watch him I just get more an more frustrated at the decision of letting him go.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Suck it up, he's gone.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are we still interested? {Ed001's Note - the boy chose to leave and has made it clear he has no interest in returning unless he is assured of regular first team football. So there is little chance of him coming back.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What if we were to try and sign him back at the end of the season instead of Victor Moses?
Also, could Liverpool go back in for Ryan Bertrand instead of buying Aly Cissokho? {Ed002's Note - There is no agreement or provision to sign Moses. The end of the season is a little too far off to speculate if Liverpool might want Bertrand.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair if we signed him he would get a fair crack of first team football especially if we loan sterling witch is looking likely {Ed001's Note - he wants to be first choice, which he won't be.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Awh who needs him so he can move to a mid table team

Forget tom muhammad salah is coming to Liverpool and he will rock the epl

Well done Sakho, BUT, do it for Liverpool too. you probably would once you get used to PL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He hasn't yet been played at CB in a flat 4 backline for Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our Monster defender has destroyed Ukraine on his own. What a guy. He was immense both defensively and offensively. Come on Sakho score your first goal against Everton on Saturday.

Mamadou Sakho what a display against Ukraine. He was outstanding scoring a brace and showing some superb defensive display. He was voted MOTM and clearly deserves it. Please Sakho do the same against Everton on Saturday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The joke is Skrtel & Agger are probably starting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haych, why is it a joke? Do you judge how well a defender plays based on the goals they score?

We haven't really seen much of Aspas since his arrival and he is yet to play in his most effective position. I know we can't really drop Suarez or Sturridge in the fine form that they are in so I would like to see how well he does leading the line with S&S either side of him.

Either the Hull or Norwich game would be the best time to try this, if Aspas is fit of course.

What do you think?

Red Rum

Believable0 Unbelievable0

FA Cup, no sooner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Competition for places is key.
He shouldn't just get a game out of sympathy, he has to earn his place on the training ground IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically he wants a Messi role in the team but he can't. for two reasons no.1 we don't play 433 and no2. he isn't that guy.
