To the person who said about my comment. raffa just ain't good enough. . but he was good enough to beat that cockney c@#t tonight harry. How do you feel! I may be a bitter red at the minute but things will turn around for us. But you will be still a small Jewish dirty southern club. We are lfc and will be back! not for two seasons like yourself. ynwa f@#king yids

To the Thick Racist Pr*ck
Once Liverpool pull them selves back up from the championship, it might take you 10 years to get Europa League football, let alone playing the cream of Europe again. Spurs may be new to the Champions League but we have more class than you as a supporter will ever have. Stay in the gutter were you belong.

Ha ha f@#k you harry! That's benitez teaching you a lesson of how to manage in Europe. Keep your mouth shut regarding our great club. raffa I thank you.

Rafa will be sacked before the end of the season; he just isn't good enough! !

I though before the game that I want Inter to win because I want Rafa to do well, but that I want Bale to score a hat trick because I think he's the best player in the Prem at the moment. I though to myself "4-3 to Inter with a Bale hat trick would be good."
I wish I'd put a bet on it.

I have heard from a very good source today that Woy will have his last game in charge of the mighty reds tomorrow night and will then depart prior to the weekend clash with Blackburn. King Kenny will take temporary control until the new manager is in place and that is expected to be F.R who has or is about to leave Galatasaray.

It is my belief that this is the reason C.P has stepped down in his role as he was part of the team who appointed Woy as manager and does not want to be seen as one of the persons responsible for the departure of Woy. Furthermore, I.A also offered to resign but this was declined as he was told he has a futue at the club.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing King Kenny again at the helm. Football hasn't changed that much and i'm sure he could motivate our team to play as they did 2 years ago when we trounced a certain Manure and Real Madrid. Lets face it, nobody could do worse at present.

20 Oct 2010 21:07:41

I have a question and only people in the know please answer. .Y did we not try and sign RAUL in the summer. He is old, agreed but he is a natural striker who can score a goal in the 20 minutes he would play off the bench. never understood, was waiting to prove my point till today where he has a brace in UCL. I doubt it he would have said no to us even without UCL prospect. Press believable if v made an approach and he refused and unbelievable if v r only getting stupider and following Rafa's policy of signing average players ( or good players in italy) and making them sound great

To the person who said, "Inter look terrible under Benitez". you do relise its tottenham playing in white. ed is this guy mental.
eto'o is looking as good as ever.

ps bale's goal was nothing special. and tom huddelstone is as slow as poulsen lol.

Take my word for it, Rooney is on his way to Liverpool. I know this as I heard Roy saying, "Looks like Waynes coming" I didn't hear any more than that because it started p++++ng down and I had to run for cover.

Would be nice though and would annoy our neighbours no end.

Okay guys just wanted to highlight something. If Stevie G, Carra and co are not talking to each other, what da F* k Roy is doing about that?? He is the manager for god sake why can't he put them all in a room and starts to show them who he's in charge here and tell them to sort their act out. Seriously if he was a good manager he would ahve done that a longtime ago. This shows how much he does not have what it takes to manage players with calibre and attitude, which come to this. I hate SAF but you have to respect his managerial skills, he knows when to put his foot down and shows who's the boss, fair enough he is having a tough job with Rooney. But he has this relationship with his players that stands out, father-like we can say and disciplinary but fair. Same thing for Mourinho with his players. Thats what we need right now, somebody who will establish some order in that dressing-room.

Just been abusing the manure on their banter, its so easy at the moment lol

It's good fun ins't it, i was doing all day today, after all the crap those nasty arrogant Mancs have been giving us the last few years it's a real pleasure to give it back, it's true what they say, he who laughs last laughs longest, LOL

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MR GLAZER

Prediction for the next 3 games:
napoli 4-0 liverpool
liverpool 0-2 blackburn(even though i hate that c* t allardyce)
bolton 3-1 liverpool
roy then hopefully gets fired. Im all for getting behind the manager but he hasnt shown me anything that proves i should be supporting him. Prime example our 1st team and the way i rate them this season(out of 10)

(! Out of position)keep in mind we have the likes of aqua and ayala away on loan and the likes of shelvey, pacheco, kelly, amoo, suso, agger and wilson on the bench and in the reserves. My vote for a new manager would be king kenny as assistant and hiddink as manager. Sammy lee needs a demotion.

I am quite excited for the Napoli game tomorrow. The reserve players seem to play with alot more heart and adventure than the so called starting line up.
Although our Great team is not performing at the moment, no matter what level they end up at I will always be a passionate supporter of Liverpool football club.

You will never walk alone!

This is ridiculous changing manager isn't going to change everything over night. Each manager has their own system and will take time for the new system to become effective. At the moment this isn't Hodgsons team, this is Rafas team with poor tactics and low confidence! Admittedly Hodgson hasn't made the best signings (poulsen) however he was on a seriously low budget to try and make it his own team. I'd be shocked if hodgson was sacked in the next few days and in truth, I'd be disappointed too.

Get behind the team and manager!

Kelly Ayala Agger Konchesky
Darby Wilson Wisdom Mavinga

look at 1 x striker, 2 x wingers 1 x sriker, in jan if possible. that will give the new manager enough time to way up what hes got.

How utterly diluded you are, you think an ex player and manager will change things, it won't work! !the new board will be installed, the management and the players will have a clear the air meeting, and your relegation fight will continue, playing the Liverpool way has to be shelved for the time being, it has to be!its dog fight time, and the sooner your players take this issue on board the better for all of you, this is a poor player performance issue, not a poor manager issue, your comments on your own players is very damaging to team moral, you have created fear amonst your own team, you want to sell half of them in Jan, how will that help motivate them, you the fan base are ruining your own club, did you realy believe that the new owners would wave a magic wand and all your problems would go away, lets get to the truth, if you do not have, 26-30 points in Jan, you will go down, no change of manager will stop this, if you don't have 26-30 points by Jan, no one will want to join you, you are forcing your own club to implode, have you never heard of constructive critism, if Dalglish comes in and fails, what will you have left in the locker, nothing! !be carful what you ask for you might just get it.A football Fan.

Dalglish first signing is Sami Khedira. Andy Carroll is also an interest but Sami Khedira is Dalglish first signing in January. Interesting note, Sami Khedira also has been admired by one mr Benitez

{Editor's Note: And Khedira played for Real Madrid in the Champion's League last night. Andy Carroll is currently bailed to live with Kevin Nolan in Newcastle.}

First of all my opinion is that Uncle Roy is not a top team manager. Hes never had big money to spend. . so if i was NESV i certainly wouldn't put my millions in his hands, for him to go and buy zamora and dempsey!
Secondly we are playing far too defensively, even against a team like blackpool at home. Plus we cannot counter attack because we don't have enough players willing to make a forward pass and no 'Mascherano' like player to break up opposition attacks. We should switch to a 4-4-2 (diamond) formation. Already we have seen this season torres has played better when partnered upfront. . eg when n'gog came on against united at 2-0 down, this quickly opened up space for torres to manoeuvre, winning the 2 fouls that led to both our goals.
Finally i ove Carragher but his best days are behind him aswell as most strikers in prem (hes far too slow), give agger a skrtel a run of games together roy. .
GK Reina
RB Johnson
LB Aurelio
CB Skrtel
CB Agger
DM Lucas (New signing needed)
CM Gerrard
CM Meirelles
AM Cole
ST Torres
ST N'gog/ Pacheco (New signing needed)
That team to me is far more capable of winning games than the one put out every week so far

20 Oct 2010 15:36:51

Personally I feel I'm leaning towards Pelligrini as the next manager simply because when he was the manager of Villarreal they wern't a wealthy club and he did very well with little funds. We need someone who can buy talent without the massive budget, the owners are trying to make us like Arsenal with the funds so we know they aren't gonna throw mass amounts of money at the problem. Also when he went to Real Madrid he had to deal with large egos, the likes of Guti, Raul. . similar to our Gerrard, Carragher and torres. He got the Real Madrid stars to be regular bench warmers so i feel he could come in and put are big named big egoed over payed players in there position!
Surley you agree with me Ed?

{Editor's Note: I think he would be a good option.}

Please leave hodgson, never really wanted you, just rushed for a replacement, need a good attacking styled european manager aka Rikjaard! need some flairy players such as turan and mata to relight anfield for the immediate future then some further investments into the defence and youth infuence + the stadium. Please NESV if your going to listen to the fans like you say just get rid of hodgson BEFORE january so we can recover in time to sign some quality players.

20 Oct 2010 15:09:54

Michael owen may have joined the mancs but there is no way rooney would ever ever join us! now let that be the end of it as its starting to sound pathetic. I believe i have pinned down the fundamental problem with liverpool and that is that the big egos in the team do not respect the manager. they do not believe in his ability and therefore will not fall into line on or off the pitch. you need a big ego to manage big egos such as the special one etc, someone who is on an equal footing in terms of respect and proven ability. roy may have had the respect of his fulham players but he hasnt got the respect of ours. why else would he bring poulson and konchesky, i'll tell you why, its because he knows he has their respect. if roy stays expect more sub-standard signings.

I know we have to back our team but at least put a team on the field that is worth backing."

I'm fairly sure your info about what team will go out is wrong as even Hodgson would put out 10 outfield players rather than 9. ;)

20 Oct 2010 14:30:38
It seems unbelievable to me that you are even worrying about the europa league, your prem survival is your biggest threat, Roy has no option but to field a weakened side, F*CK silver wear this season, prem survival is your goal, stop being so ridiculos, you realy could get relegated, how bad would that be for LFC, the decisions Roy is making are keep your players fit for prem games to come, your not good enough to win the europa league, forget it, if you get a good run in it take it as a bonus, you only have to think of one thing and one thing only, prem SURVIVAL.A Football Fan.

Try this one for size. .

Its common knowledge Hodgson's been given the next 3 games to turn us around. So what does Hodgson do for the first game against Napoli? He RESTS Gerrard, Torres, Meirelles and probably anyone else who is half decent therefore we get a heavy defeat. The second and third game against Blackburn and Bolton he will probably play Torres up front by himself even though my granny has a better chance of scoring at the moment. Also the other 9 outfield players he will play out of position whilst reinstating Poulsen. End result = 3 defeats and a hefty 5 million payoff from the same chief executive/ directors who payed the same amount to Benitez even though we all knew he was walking straight into a job at the current champions league winners. . GENIUS. . . .

I for one hope that Gerrard and Torres have not been rested, I hope they have been dropped for poor performances. Although I don't see Woy having the bottle! Remember people, NO SINGLE PLAYER is bigger than the club, although Stevie and Carra seem to feel that they are immune to the theory!

Hey Ed out of the available and easier to get mangers of Pellegrini and Rijikaard who would you take and why? {ed's note - Pellegrini, he has a better long term record than Rijkaard, in my opinion. He also seems to be better at dealing with big name players.}

What is his long term record Ed, have a look, he never stays anywhere very long and doesn't have much of a track record of winning anything

If he was that goof then someone would have snapped him up after he left Madrid

{Editor's Note: Why offer up two options and then give the reasons why one won't work?}

Thank god - new owners - we finally have some foundation to build on. I don't think our squad is as bad as they are made to be. We have a squad who has had a terrible year and a half and it is like a virus or a poison that needs to be drawn out. We need a manager who can inspire and ignite faith and morale. Roy is not a bad manager, but I think everyone will agree, that Roy is nothing but a temporary solution, to keep the team at float until new owners, new visions and new possibilities were brought in. Never mind the fact that Roy has failed to bring the best out in our players, which he really did at Fulham, he is just not top 4 manager material. As I see it, we currently have a handful of players, who can be (when played right), the spine of the team:
Reina
RB: Johnson (England international, great offensive back, needs to improve his defensive game, that's all. CB: Agger (pure class, lefty, international for Denmark, solid defender, owns players like Drogba.
CB: new player needed (my suggestions: Simon Kjaer (young, partners Agger at Denmark, reasonably prized, brilliant and a huge LPFC fan), Mexes, Hangeland, Chiellini (amazing)
LB: New player needed (my suggestions: the likes of; Filipe Luis, Gael Clichy, F. Coentrao, Dominico Criscito
RM: Joe Cole
CM: Gerrard
CM: Meireles
LM: Player needed (my suggestions: Players like; Turan, Mata, Guadado,
ST: Torres
ST: player needed (MS: L. Suarez, Llorente, Lisandro Lopez, Dzeko, Mario Gomez etc.)
Subs: We have some players, who I think could cut it in the starting XI given time, faith and chance and some players who are just solid subs:
Ngog( I really like him, could become a class striker, but not at this point, at this point we need a striker who is a top performer, solid goal scorer, has a name that will make people think of Liverpool, who can score goals without Torres being around), Maxi, Aqua (has potential, just needs to improve his fitness and strength), Wilson, Carra (still class enough to be in the starting XI, but not next season, you can't build a new defense around him), Pacheco (potentially premier leagues Messi ), Babel (OMG use him up front and give him some confidence), Kelly (I really like this lad, could in the near future push Johnson up on RM and start this kid at all times!), Ayala (hot prospect), Bouzanis(HP), Jones.
Subs needed: ST: a player like D. Bent could be a brilliant sub. Winger: Nzogbia, downing etc. CM/ CDM: could be anyone really, preferably British. What do you guys think about this? ED?

{Editor's Note: In terms of the strikers I don't think you will ever see Llorente in a Liverpool shirt and Dzeko will be off to Juventus in the summer.}

Im so tired of people bitching about doing things the liverpool way. Times are changing! What has roy done to prove that he deserves 5 or more games? What has doing things the liverpool way won us since 2006? I just think that decision making at this club has cost us for far too long already.

What i don't understand is why Roy fels the need to pick a very reserve like squad to face Napoli knowing that one more negative result could seal his fate. Has he lost the plot? I know that the europa league is not as desirable a the champions league, but we have to adjust our ambitions this season and to most fans the europa league could be our only siver lining this season on the pitch.

Roy is playing a very stupid and dangerous game.

Bel - roy has lost the plot

Crap team, but how long have the majority of our players been together now? It doesn't seem to make much difference. If we are still in the same position come Jan, do we stick with the same players who have failed miserably or make drastic changes? I know Jan isn't really the time to do it but needs must! Maybe!

Just not with Roy at the helm! No Carlton Cole! !

If Rijkaard joins Liverpool expect to see a major improvement in Ryan Babel. Clearly, on a team that plays with only 2 credible offensive threats an injection of speed on the wings would be more than welcome. Also, why don't we have any youngsters who can play at right mid or anywhere else? Why can teams like United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and about thirteen others in the Prem line up a youngster or two while Liverpool Football Club has washed up players such as Maxi, Carragher and Poulsen start crucial games?
Right now, Liverpool need to play with guts and attack every team with venom. It you lose, you lose, but at least make the other team respect you. We suck defensively, so lets just fire away.

Yeah, I think with the players available this would be a good as it gets for this game & Cole would only get in the team on default because there's no one else. I fear we are in for a hiding tomorrow night. Napoli have been doing ok this year & I think they're 4th ATM! Under the circumstances tho, I think it's best not to bring our so-called better players.

Ps Just a point made out on the rumour page by the main Ed. For all you guys now calling for Rikyard for the job, this is the same guy who signed Baros, Kewell & Insua from us! Doesn't look so good now, does he?

In reply To:

What would fans think to us using a 4-4-2 diamond formation, seeing as we have no genuine wingers. Lucas being the base (best of a bad bunch - maybe use Spearing), Meireles and Gerrard, with Joe Cole at the top. With Glen Johnson and Fabio Aurelio (I understand he is close to fitness (so expect new injury soon)) providing width from the full-back positions. This enables all the players to play in their preferred position - and Torres would have a partner up front whether its N'gog, Jovanovis, Kuyt, Babel or Pacheco

Sounds good accept for the part of Lucas at the base. He is not strong enough or fast enough to play that posistion, he looses the ball to much and that would put us right on the back foot with our defence getting hammered. Its a crucial area and Lucas is not cut out for that role. He is an attacking player but he is not as good as are other atacking players, so should be a bench player. I don't think we have a dfensive midfilder capable enough anymore so I wouldn't play with one I would just play Gerrad and Mirreles in the centre as a standard midfield. There both Box to Box midfielders or have been in the past. its time to start playing people in there right positions otherewise we are just gonna end up in a right mess.

Its all about having the right management TEAM, not just the figurehead. As highlighted by Rafa's first two years.

Whoever takes over as manager, I want them to bring in Paco Ayesteran! The most under-estimated influence on LFC for the past 20 years. Rafa was hailed as a tactical genius when Paco was around. Those claims started to fade out not long after though, if memory serves correctly?

If Kenny comes in, he should bring Paco back to the club to work alongside him as his assistant manager (Kenny is viable, as long as it doesn't just become an Old Boys network on the coaching front). Paco will do tactics, Ken will choose the players and motivate/ inspire.

Job Done!

He could also do a good job next to FR if he comes in. FR being the attractive name to get the players in, PA to get them drilled.

Paco was a bigger influence on us than Rafa in those 2 years he was with the club. A fantastic coach who the players admired and responded to.

Ed, Blair, Lenin, Anyone: Thoughts on this? Where is Paco now?

I think Rikjaard left more because it wasn't working out at Gala rather than being set for a move to Liverpool. But him becoming Liverpool manager cannot be ruled out, based on Roy's next two results - I'm guessing anything less than a win against Blackburn will result in the sack. I hear people talking about how Liverpool don't sack managers after 8 games, but this is not the same Liverpool as 10 years ago. Tom Hicks and George Gillett's actions and attitude have completely changed the club, meaning the old "Liverpool Way" is just not here anymore. The values of Liverpool need to be rebuilt over time and hopefully NESV and John W. Henry are the right custodians to do this. Whoever the manager may be, I hope they get the team playing better football - losing to Everton hurt this weekend not just because of the result - but because Everton didn't play particularly well and they beat us comprehensively. Our defence should be able to cope with long balls to Yakubu and Cahill and a bit of wing-play!

You just can't stop winging! I read this site every day and its getting pretty boring reading all this sack roy stuff EVERY day. Have you got no loyalty? first its sell torres, then johnson, now its sack roy. Theres people posting teams that contain none of our players except stevie and reina and torres. . . maybe you should support a different team then! Where is the famous red loyalty? Where is the world renowned english grit and ability to absorb the rough with the smooth? So weve got problems, so what? Ive got news for you - we just removed the two main reasons for our woes on a worldwide stage in front of everyone. SO EVERYONE SAW HOW GREAT AND IMPORTANT THIS CLUB IS. We now have no problems. Nothing that couldnt be solved by us unanimously supporting the club LIKE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. One goal. Thats all we need to turn the corner. So why don't u just balls up and support a man who came to us in a time of need when no one else would, who is genuine and honest and plays good football, and above all, have you not noticed NO_ONE HATES. Which means EVERYONE now has a soft spot for us. Seriously, ask ur manc mates, even they like us as a club now, because we show humility. And that's not just because were losing. I honestly believe roy is installing an ethic which will make us proud winners when we INEVITABLY bounce back. Sorry for the rant but pining really irritates me. Just get on with it. Quick question for the editor. how many players do u feel that liverpool need to start moving up the table??
please answer with the players that u feel we might actually bring in during jan

{Editor's Note: I expect a striker and possibly a midfielder. I would not be surprised to see the club return for Carlton Cole who not getting a start at West Ham. I am not advocating this as being the right move - just one that may happen. If not, perhaps an unknown name or two. It is really hard to see anything major happening. The players have to get their heads in the right place - particularly Gerrard and Torres - and start performing. If not the club has to look to cash in and look for another solution.}

20 Oct 2010 11:57:23

Lets not jump ahead of ourselves. Rijkard has been dismissed because of his lack of results in this new season. That is far off from him leaving because he knows that there might be an opening at Liverpool.

I don't think he's the right man. We need someone who has more experience (like Guus Hiddink for example). Hell also have excellent knowledge players we can attract and his name will be good enough for anyone to put pen to paper.

Ed if roy hogdson keeps is job what realistic ins and outs will there be is the future going to look better if roy stayed in charge

{Editor's Note: Whoever is in charge I would not expect anything other than some tweaking in January. Very few clubs do any major business in January. If Rooney did move it could set off a domino effect, but aside from that a couple of players in and out at best. Possibly a striker.}

According to sources close to Frank Rijkaard, Liverpool FC have made contact with his representatives in regards to a possible managerial role at anfield.

Liverpool will give current manager Roy Hodgson two more games before they make an approach. They will wait until Napoli and Blackburn (Thursday, Sunday) and if Roy Hodgson fails to take maximum points from both games they will officially approach the ex-Barcelona manager Sunday evening.

Rijkaard who currently managers Galatasaray is day's away from leaving his post and has made it very clear he would accept the Liverpool job.

We now know that Frank has left his post at Galatasaray. This mounts pressure on Roy. No idea if he would be a good aqusition though, maybe get King Kenny as an Assistant!

Seen some posts on here saying carra is top 4, build the team around him etc. Lets get real. He has not played well for ages. Forwards are consistantly getting the better of him. The lad has been great but this is a season too far for him to be played constantly. He has been the main cause of our longball game and probably the reason crouch was sold cos he was a good target which meant the midfield was all too regularly by-passed. We need someone like shawcross in jan as a replacement. Along with a fit agger should provide a solid pairing and an aerial threat at the other end. Age on his side too.

Roy has had an abysmal start to the new campaign but now all the turmoil behind the scenes appears to be at an end, doesn't this guy deserve at least until christmas to show us what he can do? now im not saying he is my prefered choice but at liverpool we don't give up on people after 8 games and we should try practicing our famous anthem that we so passionatly sing before each games. come on words are cheap people its time to show the world what being a liverpool fan is all about! the road to the top is long but look on the brightside, when the new uefa ruling comes in at least our revenue will be up there with the best clubs around. i for one would swap long term security for a repeat of the mess we found ourselves in last time

in my opinion i fink this squad would be good enuff to win the league and others trophys with the strenght in depth that we badly lack - and my choice of manager wud be john toshsack with roy evans as assitant or frank riykard with john toshsack.

{Editor's Note: You need to do a little research I am afraid. Afellay is a good player and might do well at Liverpool - but all he really wants to do is move to a bigger club and wants a good salary. Tom Werner has waited patiently for the dust to start to settle at Anfield since last weeks takeover and has spoken to Roy Hodgson in the past couple of days.

He is concerned about the form of the team and his advisors are also looking at other 'avenues'. He has told Roy he will be judged on the next five games, which are. .

Napoli (A), Blackburn (H), Bolton (A), Napoli (H) and of course Chelsea (H)

These five games are purely a test for Roy and his management of the club, they are refusing to say anything about the long term plans

Fellow reds. .
I think we can be sure of one thing. Change is coming.

Recent rumors have linked king kenny with the manager role but this is not happening. Word is that the board want him to be an ambassador for liverpool, and remain involved in the youth system, but due to the fact that he has not been involved more recently he will not be installed as manager, too much of a risk for the board - the board has very recently (after the Everton game) spoken to none other than Fabio Capello, sounding him out for a temporary role similar to Hiddink at Chelsea, ably advised by Fabio himself, who has reportedly politely declined the offer 'at the time' the board has instead turned their attention to a search for the new manager (and yes. .Hiddink's name is being mentioned)
The money for new players has been sanctioned and more will be provided on a player to player basis. The control of the money, however, is in the hands of King Kenny, who will constrict a list of potential candidates which any new manager will be provided with. No word on the amount, though its likely around the 35-40 million mark + sales. The board have financial clout which they do not wish to be revealed because they do not want to inflate prices.

The board have also had long discussions with players and have asked the most valuable players to wait and see where they take the club before they think of jumping ship. .

The new owners want a Madrid style management setup with a youth system similar to Barca's (the best of both worlds). Even the Americans know that its better to buy a youngster for 5-10 million (rafa's philosophy) than to buy a 26-27-28 year old for 25-30 million. This ties in with their repeated 'long-term planning' idea. though they are looking at getting 3 new proven players and selling three current players.

The board also reportedly were not impressed with Roy's body Language, neither against blackpool, nor against Everton when they watched from the stands.

So Roy is out. The board want to trim the squad though i've heard that the fate of players, especially babel and lucas will be in the hands of the next manager, not Roy. believe it or not, almost all the coaching staff at Liverpool actually want us to hang on to babel and lucas. they are brilliant talents who need the right manager they feel

Squad for Europa cup is a complete and utter disgrace, Woy hasn't, can't, wont, learnt anything from what's happened this season.
Football players should be pleading to play and not sitting on their backsides at home, just listen to the arguments Shriek has been having at manure.
Red players and fans need a win, policy should always be start with your best 11, then pull off super stars when you 5 nil up

Latest tale is Woy out on Monday and Rijkaard in. why why why drag this out

And poulsons sh$te

{Editor's Note: You have answered this yourself - "players should be pleading to play". They are not - neither Gerrard or Torres are performing at the moment and their minds seem to be elsewhere. So if Liverpool lose in Naples, everyone will be after Roy's head. What if Liverpool win - a masterstroke? - a fightback against player-power? - just luck?}

Torres wanting to leave and lacking whatever is bull. He loves our club. Carra hoofs the ball up to torres and he has to score? Name me one time torres was actualy assisted this season? Kuyt v west brom and he scored. Nowhere else. Dont forget that thanks to T09 we got 2 goals at OT. So carra must stop his s* t and focus on what he is actualy doing on the pitch, which is nothing except shouting and waving his hands in the air and blaming torres and those around him. He may care for the club and whatever but his time has come.IF T09 leaves along with agger and we don't get aqua back, lets face it we are doomed.

. . . .sorry guys. . . pressed submit too early on my last message re Hitzfeld. . . .(had cut and pasted bio from other site, and posted before editing)!. . he is the outstanding candidate imo. . . swiss fa could not require that much compo surely (remember he also tactically outwitted the Spanish in the world cup, and did it with a very average swiss national team). . . fluent english. .links to Bayern (love to see Lahm in red but prob unlikey). . . favours attacking football, and would take no s* t from prima donnas. . . .we should be looking for a wenger or SAF, by which I mean a manager who can stay with us for 15 years + (Hittzfeld's age is on our side too). . . even if Roy proves a fantastic success, his age would mean he will still need replacing in a few years time. . . .Ed - opinion on Hittzfeld?

{Editor's Note: No chance of him having age on his side or staying 15 years. He is 61 and would be 76 at the end of his contract. This is a danger of cutting and pasting from another site.}

(Oh dear, multi millionaire Mr J Carragher is not impressed by the efforts of multi millionaire Mr F Torres. Apparently multi millionaire Mr S Gerrard is suitably unimpressed.
For £80k a week I am quite prepared to relieve Mr Carragher of his onerous duties, and wave my hands in the air while shouting expletives, whilst watching the world and his wife run into the space I've abandoned.
In the summer Mr Torres received a World Cup winners medal. Mr Carragher scored a penalty for Everton against Liverpool in a testimonial.
Which of the above do Liverpool need to enhace their future?)

Carragher cares about the club and doesn't like what he sees with certain players lack of effort.

If only Torres had Carraghers determination and loyalty.

Torres wanted to go in the summer but because he got injured that scuppered his chances of a move.

He wll leave, maybe Jan or the summer.

The sad news for all us liverpool fans is that ive actually heard people sayin we don't mind not beating blackburn on sun because they want roy out.

we all no he is on his last legs anyway, he needs to go before we give him £20mil to waste in Jan, and then he gets sacked and we get a new manager in with a load of players he doesn't want ( just like the start of the season ! ) but we do really need to start winning games!

i would love hiddink and i think he would have a very good chance of gettin the job. Playing wise, realistically we are not going to get the very top drawer players, but we can now aim for better than, cisse's poulsens diao's and konceskys of this world.

Good additions to the squad in my opinion would be: david bentley, ryan shawcross, darren bent , lassana diara & roque sante cruz. All would genuinely compete 4 places and give a spark of the bench if needed. realistically, wen we were 2-0 down at everton on sunday, who looked at our bench and though ' david n'gog, ryan babel & aurelio' will help us pull this back.

20 Oct 2010 09:55:32
I watched the blackburn v sunderland and if we can't even beat blackburn then there is no hope for liverpool
I think the 1st team need to go and watch the reserve team play(what a game last night)
PASS AND MOVE the liverpool way Amoo, pachecoe, wilson, mavinger, ince, eccolstone, sussou, derby, shelvey, stirling are the future

20 Oct 2010 09:24:23

You lot need to look at that pile of sh*t who pretends to be a top striker/ ladyboy.

Don't you have a leading striker of your own you should be talking about? Form us temporary but a contract is (ish)!

Realistic red.

20 Oct 2010 09:23:52
GUYS our defence is SH'ite lets face it.
I say we take a risk against napoli and try a tottally different formation i say we go - kelly carra konchesky
lucas

meireles gerrard

Johnson Joe cole Babel/ jova

Nando n'gog
This will give is WAAY more attacking options.

So with Reina in goal we play with twelve. Do ya think the ref wil notice.

Today is payback day, all the sh*te you have been getting off the mancs, has now boomeranged back to them, this is the ending of fergis empire, you could see it was a damage limitation excersize, but the fun part is, the Graziers will use the money to service the debt, not give it to the transfer kitty, what goes around comes around.

Isn't it scary how a majority of Liverpool fan have no confidence in " the next" game!
Imagine what the players feel?
In never seen such a great and historic club lose so mush confidence. This ISN'T Liverpool this.
The football that's being played just simply isn't Liverpool.
The club needs a whole boost. Ownership issue eased and restored faith but isn't helping the confidence.
We need the fans to put their arm around each player and say " it's ok, were with you no matter what. You'll never walk alone". To do this, we'll need to sing their name, to be a voice, to support like it's the champions league.
Until things change our supporters must unite and be the 12th man. Let's make Anfield a fortress

YOU IDIOT ANFIELD IS A FORTRESS. .

A FORTRESS OF NOTE. .

Fellow reds. .

It seems that just as Rafa, Hodgson has lost the Liverpool dressing room completely, though for different reasons. It is felt that Roy lacks the raw courage, leadership and 'bollocks' needed to make this team play with passion. against Everton, at half time, he was "like a scared, clueless little schoolboy".

Another big problem, reportedly, is ego, especially on the part of two of the local Mersey lads. . One thinks he knows more about management than Rafa or Roy, and the other, who supports the first, believes he can win every game on his own and is disillusioned with teammates, including Torres.

Roy needs to go. and we fans need to tell the owners that. we need a manager who can pull this club, its owners and its fans and players together! What if Liverpool are still in the relegation battle come January? with moral as low as it is now, no passion, no will to play and no heart, it will be too late. .and Liverpool will become a mid-table club, especially since we cant, even after the new owners, afford to compete with Tottenham and City. You know, PART of the reason Alonso left was that he wanted to be paid the same as Gerrerd and Torres, but the owners at that time did not provide funds. .And Rafa messing around with Alonso with the whole Barry saga was meant to give Alonso a wake-up kick-on-the-arse call rather than to force him out. Alonso had a poor season before that one. . and then we finished 2nd, which was Alonso's best at LFC.

Purslow and Parry were both bad for the club btw. Both lost out on players and both have created the kind of environment alien and counterproductive to LFC.

Since we don't have all the funds, we must win on courage, passion, and smart management. we need a manager who will not have a problem grabbing Gerrard or Carragher or Torres by the scruff of the neck and yelling at them eyeball to eyeball. .we need someone with the force of personality and charisma of Jose or Sir Alex. . someone who can make even an average player pull something amazing out of the depths. . I believe we had that in Rafa. .Remember Istanbul? but we as fans must take the responsibility for losing him. . lets see how much patience some of those hypocrites (fans and pundits) have with Roy now because it looks like mid season we are going to be even below 7th place.so there. Karma.

And if you favor him just because he's and English manager, shame on you, ya racist fool.
The Mersey lads wanted Roy on the back of his Fulham exploits. . but it turns out that bubble has burst badly.

Pray to hell Torres stays! Give Gerrerd a warning. make Reina captain (before we lose him too), and either sell or retire Jamie. I think he is a legend but i think the Lad's put in enough and needs to leave the dressing room to younger players.

20 Oct 2010 08:48:50

Having only seen Rafa's rant last night, I thought I'd come on to defend Christian Purslow. To bracket him with the owners is ludicrous as is Rafa's washing his hands of the mistakes he made. Purslow joined in June 2008 so I don't think he had anything to do with Rafa's hawking of Alonso around Europe in the summer of 2008 to raise funds to buy Barry and I don't think it was his decision to sell the underated Arbeloa for £5m and eplace him with the overated Johnson for £17m. Not sure he had much to do withthe panic buy of the injured Acqillani to replace Alonso who left because of Rafa's treatment of him 12 months before.

I know Rafa brought in quite a lot in transfer money, but it was usually to sell some dross he bought in the first place at a loss.

20 Oct 2010 08:35:21

Who ever the new manager is going to be, (or if Roy stays on). I'd hope/ wish they'd bring back Paco Ayestaran as assistant. I wonder how he'd do as the manager? The players all respected him and he got on well with everyone (bar Rafa at the end).
We need some exciting manager who's got the balls for the fight!

El Diablo!

20 Oct 2010 08:35:04

Very very worried about the continuing rumours that Torres could go to the scum. With Hodgson in charge, he is more than likely to sanction a deal with Ferguson. I just hope Toores, if he does go, goes to someone other than THEM. .

{Editor's Note: Hodgson will not be part of the negotiation process.}

20 Oct 2010 08:32:59

Ed do it is possible we will sell torres to manure?and who will the decision lie with owners or hodgson?if its hodgson then I'm very worried

{Editor's Note: Anything is possible of course, but you cannot discount the players view. Certainly will not be the manager's decision.}

20 Oct 2010 08:32:36

All this talk about roy getting the boot is utter sh*ep ok so we have had a terrible start to season no one can deny that. but it wasnt exactly all rosey last season i remember the performance at wigan as just one example. so lets get behind roy and our team and become the 12th man again ive been a fan for 25 yrs an these past 2 seasons i can't ever remember our home games being so quiet so lets make some noise we have got rid of H&G so why don't we try and bring our team back to where we belong.

20 Oct 2010 08:27:28

To all you so called liverpool supporters out there why don't you all stop moaning about this and that and really get behind everyone in our club instead of get rid of him get rid of them and he, s not good enough come on now people show some spirit and get behind it all as till january this is what we have got and we need to show full support to everyone to get our beloved club making strides up that table to where our club should be.

thanks guys inksta15

20 Oct 2010 08:11:05

{Editor's note - I think RH will be given to January}

What if he only picks up 2 points out of the next 9?

Unless there is a significant and fairly immediate improvement I don't see how he can survive until January.

I think Chelsea could be his last game, especially if they spank us. And who would want to bet against that right now?

That game could show the huge chasm that has now opened up between the top teams and us because anyone who still believes we are a top team at the moment is seriously deluded.

Frenchy.

{Editor's Note: What if he picks up 9 from the next 9 - an extended contract? That is the problem with all of these "what if" scenarious.}

20 Oct 2010 08:02:13

The thing is u keep linking your selves with all these top managers and world class players? truth be told you won't get any of them! according to most and truth be told your not that big anymore! as someone said yesterday your yesterdays chip paper

20 Oct 2010 07:58:04
Cunning plot to help Woy come up with a plan A – All players should train in bibs with their best position printed on them.
Cara don't you dare wear a bib with Full Back on it, Poulson you wear a blank one and he might forget to play you, and Babel – you're selling programmes in the Centenary Stand Car Park.

Was hugely impressed by Bradley (USA) at world cup. Think he could be the defensive midfielder we need - plenty of steel Nd box to box player. What do you think ED ?

RedTed

{Editor's Note: He is a good player but not enormous potential as a defenxive midfielder.}

20 Oct 2010 07:33:22
Hey Ed just wanted to ask, forget all this player purchases, dnt u think we need to have better staff in place first,

I.E

phil thompson to organise defence
pako ayestrayen for tactics/ shape work
rudolfo borrel to mould youth for future
roy evans to organise attack
kenny Dalglish, Robbie fowler, alan hansen, to work with rudolfo in youth
Ray clemence for keepers

Just a thought

I JUST WANNA BE DEVILS ADVOCATE FOR A WHILE REF THE RAFA SAGA THAT PEOPLE ARE STILL GOIN ON ABOUT. BEFORE RAFA WE WERE A MEDIORE EURO SIDE HE ARRIVED AND WE WERE IN THE CHAMPS LEAGUE EVERY SEASON APART FROM THE LAST TWO. WE WILL NEVER REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED OR WHAT WAS SAID BETWEEN RAFA AND THE BOARD. DID RAFA RALLY BUY ROBBIE KEANE OR DID THE BOARD? ? I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE TO PUT ALL THE BLAME AT RAFAS DOOR BUT I JUST CANT SEE HOW, YES HE SPENT CASH, YES HE BOUGHT SOME DUDS, YES HE MADE MISTAKES (BUT DONT THEY ALL) HE WAS A GOOD MANAGER, WE HAD SOME GREAT EURO NIGHTS WITH HIM AT THE HELM AND IM PRETTY SURE IF IT WAS 3 YRS AGO WE WOULD ALL BE CALLING HIM A LEGEND BUT KNOW HE SEEMS TO BE LIKE THE DEVIL. GIVE THE GUY A BREAK NOW LADS HE IS WITH A NEW TEAM (WHO ARE DOIN QUITE WELL BY THE WAY). THE MAN STILL CANT WIN THOUGH AS WHAT EVER HE WINS IT WILL BE THE SPECIAL ONES TEAM AND IF HE LOOSES IT WILL ALL BE DOWN TO HIM. I FOR ONE STILL LIKE HIM AND ALWAYS WILL. I WISH ROY WOULD SORT IT OUT, ITS A POOR DO WHEN I ACTUALLY DREAD HOW THERE GONNA PLAY NEXT. ANYWAYS WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? ?

You lot need to look at that pile of sh*t who pretends to be a top striker/ ladyboy. Blame the yanks, fine, blame the fat spanish waiter, fine, but Uncle Roy? Do me a favour, have look at the diving cheating Spaniard up front. How he can look Gerrard in the eye after a game is beyond me. One pulls his tripe out, the other tosses it off most times.

At least he's on the pitch trying instead of trying to jump ship and blaming every one else for his bad form
