I'm a little surprised at Ibe going on loan as I thought he might be given the chance to break into the first team. BR knows best! Maybe Texiera might be the one breaking into the first team as sub on a regular basis. Ibe will gain valuable experience and come back stronger no doubt, but I worry in case of injuries. My main worry is the case of injuries impending our progress although we have had players injured or suspended already this season.
Looking forward to the last 12 games with fear, excitement and expectation (actually a bizarre mixture of all 3!)
Good luck boys. YNWA

I would say Ibe has time on his side, he's only what? 17/18. teixeira on the other hand is 21 I think?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather see these lads get more experience by playing games rather than warming the bench and getting the odd 10 minutes here and there. I believe Ibe will become a top player for us in the yrs to come and think he will do well on loan.It's nice to see Coady developing his game under Nigel Clough and Suso and Illori doing so well in spain.

Excellent team performance against a robust Stoke side at the Brittania. 0-1 the final score. Very entertaining game with some great chances at both ends.
Mom performance from Jack Dunn. 1st game since 20th of January so got to be well pleased with that, kept going right until the end.

0-1 to Liverpool, Cameron Brannigan tapping in at the back post from the keepers save. Great break from Liverpool with Petersen on the left. Stoke playing well and have had a couple of chances too.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jack Dunn having a good game.

Hi Eds,

What do you think of Jordan Ibe's loan move to Birmingham. A good move?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He will get game time and experience at a decent level, so yes.}

Might be reading too much into this, but can't help but think it means Teixera will be the player getting more appearances in the run now.

Ibe was on the fringes if needed so to loan him is good for his development but also leaves us a little light.

Just in case you missed it. Jordan Ibe has joined Birmingham on loan for the rest of the season.

I'm sure it's probably a good long term move for the lad but I'd much prefer to see him getting some game time with us. Pre-season he looked better than Sterling but he's had only 2 opportunities to translate that into proper progress with the 1st team so far which I think is a waste considering he's fighting with Moses for a place and we were desperate to sign a player in that position a month ago.

Good luck lad! I've got every faith you'll set the championship alight in the next couple of months and prove everyone right about your potential, come back stronger and wiser them smash it for us next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It does seem a strange one. I thought he should have been give nmore opportunities during the season.

Now he has gone there is no pressure on Sterling to keep his place (Moses does not count for abvious reasons).

I have to say although there is a very rare chance we will get someone to replace Suarez when he eventually leaves, I'm really confident. Our team has quite possibly the biggest potential in the country. We are currently 4th in the league, granted the majority of that is down to Suarez and Gerrard, but our young players have shown they can compete at the highest level. Sterling has been a star, Henderson has shown why we paid so much for him, Coutinho back to his best, even Flanno, a player who was on the verge of being sold, is becoming a star player. And I haven't even mentioned Mignolet, Sakho, Kelly etc, the academy or the likes of Suso, Ilori, Assaidi and Borini out on loan! If we could somehow fit the likes of Henderson, Texeira, Suso, Coutinho and Sturridge into a team we would have a team to be reckoned with! That reminds me Ed, do the club see any future for Suso at the club? I know he has said he wants more game time and I think I seen a discussion about it a few weeks ago on here, but is there anything in it?
Cheers,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - nothing has changed yet, he wants to play more and there will be discussions in the summer to decide his future. I hope he can be persuaded to stay, but he is too good to be sat watching every week.}

He seems like a good lad to, and has recently spoken about renewing his contract and spending another season on loan. Sounds like a good attitude and just wants to play. Signing a new deal with us would imply he still sees his future here. His workrate has certainly improved since his move and I think he realises that if he wants to catch Brendan's eye he needs that along with his obvious abilities.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I agree Ed, he looks like the complete attacking midfielder already. We have a huge problem though, because we have 4 unbelievable talents in Coutinho, Suso, Sterling and Teixeira, and all are too good to sit on the bench! Hopefully we can get them all in the squad and they agree to squad rotation each week, because we can't really let any of them go. My gut feeling is saying Suso, Sterling and one of Coutinho or Teixeira, but we also need to fit Suarez and Sturridge into the team. So much quality and so little places for them in the team! My gut feeling for next season is saying keep Coutinho, Sterling and Suso and loan out Teixeira, but after that it becomes a selection dilemma! I just pray Suso stays, because he has waited so long for his chance, and he would improve our options massively. Strength in depth is what we need, but at the same time nobody wants to sit on the bench.
Cheers,
ROI.

Agree0 Disagree0

But certainly if we manage to get CL, he may positively get some games, could he not?

Agree0 Disagree0

We have Sturridge who has an amazing Record we would only have to improve one or two players around him to continue progressing. We might not find someone who can replace the direct impact Suarez has but someone like luis muriel could develop into that player. & on the second point the best for either Teixeira or Suso would have to be to move more central. but we would certainly have a stronger team with all those four players in the squad next season.

Just a quick one with FSG's system of buying cheap younger players - will getting into the champions league make them differ from that and let Brendan bring in some 'bigger' players. Don't get me wrong I do not want us to become Chelsea/Man city and pay over the odds for older players but I think an experienced 28Year old - 20/25 million pound player will give the fans more of a lift than a younger unknown player, and show the players and fans that we are back amongst the best (like Ozil did for arsenal) Thanks Lads

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The club has had manager's who have spent very large amounts of money on players and that has been responsible for the club making catastrophic losses each year reported since FSG arrived. The club must work towards curbing their spending - we will see how they are doing when the accounts are released in a couple of weeks. Oezil cost far more than £20/25M, but Liverpool may be in that market if someone were to leave. The club certainly cannot spend that sort of money on one player just to appease the fans - that sort of money for one player would need to be generated somehow.}

Also we have some brilliant young talent at the club. Why stop that from being a driving force for the club for years to come?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to Mighty Reds. I would love it for a youngster from the academy to make it big rather than a big money signing. Texeira making it to the first team gives me more happiness than the thought of signing another player. Promoting from within is the way forward for any club, and glad we're on track. FSG have made mistakes in the past but they're learning, so are the players and the manager. As long as they posses the attitude that they need to keep learning along with the game, I feel we're in safe hands for the near future.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with both of you,
Seeing Sterling play at the moment is great, having watched him through under 18's 21's etc it is great. How much would you value him at?
He is most improved this season for me.

Ed02 how much was the konopylanka deal worth before it fell true

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money as you will become confused and disoriented.}

Konoplyanka would be a top signing! I'd say he'll cost around 12m in the summer.

I have just spat out a soggy crisp ( ready salted ) onto my laptop screen because of Ed02.
There is a lesson to be learned. not sure what it is yet though!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think placing emphasis on our youth system is a smart way to proceed as a club. Those "marque" signings get fans giddy but realistically we don't have the funds to make marque signings AND more low key, squad strengthening ones as well. I think producing our own talent as well as looking for the next best player (i.e. those youth signings like sterling, ibe, suso, etc) are the way we have to proceed whilst our stadium limits our income and we have yet to establish regular CL football. If nothing else I am at least contented that the owners are not going to run us into the ground - there seems to be more sensible head prevailing at the club (compared to H&G, Moores, etc) and hopefully it gives us a really strong platform for future success.

Hi there,

I sent you an email to your private address yesterday?

Yes, I have managed to get you two tickets to the game, in the Corporate seating. I must say though, you'll find a few persons at football grounds so I wouldn't go celebrating too much when we score :)

Hope you have a safe trip and check your emails for my details and we can arrange when to pick the tickets up etc.

Take it easy.

Hey eds,

Just wanted to get your opinion on Patrick Bamford, he's been playing really well and looks a talented young lad. Any teams in for him? or are Chelsea looking to hold on to him? Do you think LFc will look at him in the summer(if he continues to perform)?

Thanks again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It has been suggested that Spurs and Aston Villa would like to take him. He will return to Chelsea in the summer and they will take it from there.}
