I am tired. of us losing our best players but I do think suarez will leave summer and my money is on Bayern Munich. However if lfc are to sell. suarez then by boy we should demand atleast 50million' we have been held to randsom by clubs and been embarrassed in the transfer market so I hope we play a great game of hardball.

I agree Big Al. Suarez is at the height of his game right now, and while we should try to hang on to him, 50 million (in the right hands. ) could be used to transform our club.

50 million?
No big club would be crazy enough to pay such money.

Chelsea ring a bell pal?

Does Torres and £50m ring a bell rover?

looks like united are set to sign people like strootman, rodriguez, gotze and lewandowski, add to that this zaha fella who looks the part I don't think they will be going anywhere anytime soon, I really pray they don't get ronaldo back. please suarez stay, we will need you more than ever when we bring in more young lads from the swansea feeders nest

So Manchester United are going to spend 200million in the summer? Since They won't let ronaldo go for any less then 100million

Is there anyway of contacting luis suarez just to let him know how much we love him? Twitter or something? I wonder sometimes if he knows just how much he means to us.

Anonymous woolback {Ed002's Note - My god this is embarrassing.}

Because I was really looking to send him fan mail ed002. ;)

I've noticed a few posts about not spending "big".
Let me just say this.
Private ownership can be a very dangerous thing.
If Abramovich or the Etihad chaps were to become bored with their little plaything, they'd have little chance of finding a good buyer.
Their own expenditure on stupid transfer fees would be written into the clubs debt. Then the new owners would have to contend with trying to pay these massive wages from a bank account that's significantly "in the red".
Take City for example. Their expenditure is MASSIVE, but that's not the worst of it. Should their owners decide to bail out, which they will soon enough. They'd have to find a buyer who's stupid enough to take on, what is essentially a property with 2 mortgages, on a lead contaminated block, where the house has since burned to the ground, without insurance.
The new owner finds the debt too much to handle but cannot offload players, as they don't want a paycut. So, they revolt, you send some out on loan and the others don't really put in because they haven't been paid in 8 weeks. You miss out on revenue, crowds fall. Bang! relegated, playing in the championship with a 15 point deduction, facing relegation again, with the same overpaid players who aren't putting in. All at the hands of your most recent owners, the bank.

We should be thankful we have these owners. Because, heaven forbid, they decide to sell up, we may just manage. It'd hurt, yes. But, we'd be able to sell players and still operate.
. now that I mention it. We're in the process of this Man City story I just told. Not so severe as to perish, but similar.
We had a very big debt and some very overpaid, over-rated players who we found very hard to offload. our situation could've been much, MUCH worse. interesting.

Anyway. my point is, we have a real sports management team at the helm. They've proven that they want what's best for this club. Simply, because it's in their best interest to do so.
We should consider ourselves lucky! i'd rather build for 50 years to win a few titles, than to win one or two, go bankrupt and perish.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City has owners that can afford to spend what they have been spending. Mr Abamovich is one of the longest serving owners in the EPL. And Liverpool is privately owned like Manchester City and Chelsea.}

22 Mar 2013 03:18:28
Mate your totaly out of your depth, Liverpool is owned the same way as chelsea or man city or anyother club in epl the difference is they can affored it we can't!

Sheik mosour is worth 32 billion
Abramovich is worth 16 billion
John w henry is worth 540 million

That's a huge difference.

Having a go at Abramovich it just shows your lack of knowledge, Abramovich is not paying wages to chelsea players by his pocket in fact chelsea are making enough of profits to pay wages to their players.
Abramovich has used his own money to improve chelsea`s commercial deals and facilities, chelsea`s bussiness is getting bigger and bigger if today FFP is forced then chelsea are in better place then Liverpool or even abromovich decides to leave chelsea still can pay wages to their players that's how he has improved chelsea`s bussiness side, that's the same way city`s owners are trying to do, they have huge plans for city in fact in 1-2 years city will be capable of paying wages to their players instead of depending on owners.

If john w henry could afford it he would Immediately turned our financial crises in to profits by using his own money to increase our revenue or getting us new stadium, that's just a small example what can a mega rich owner do.

If your waiting Chelsea or city to implode and Liverpool to take advantage then your just dreaming big time mate!

Hey lfc fans

The fact that stevie g has already stated the manager has no plan B

Basically describes everything this season and the manager not being able to take Liverpool any further!

I really hope he leaves or gets sacked as quick as possible and we bring in an experienced manager

Cos even if he gets the players he wants

We will still go to away games playing possession football. And get turned over by teams who will be more physical. The dude is no better than any fan tactically. All the fans basically have the same idea. Yet he sticks to his guns like wenger and gets us nowhere

Red bill

And who is that experienced manager we should get ey?

And don't make me laugh by saying Benitez!

Fact is wether you like him or not ther isn't much of a choice as sacking him will take the club even further back and there isn't anyone to replace him too!

F5.

FS
You don't know if sacking Rodgers will put the club back and as for no one to replace Rodgers? There are plenty of managers out there that have had moderate to no success managing football clubs.

The Irish Rover

Which experienced manager did you have in mind - Roy Hodgson? Is it George Graham? Did you mean Kevin Keegan? Or was it Martin O'Neil? How can you make such a ridiculous post and not even name a single 'experienced manager' whatever that's supposed mean. Your ignorance is an embarrassment Red bull.
DT

Barcelona have no plan B. We're not Barcelona now, but 5/10 years ago they were trying to play their way and not quite achieving it.

What Stevie was saying I think is that BR wants Liverpool to continue playing football the right way and not resort to lumping it forward when we get desperate.

Besides the way that Liverpool have played in the 2nd half of the season has showed that he has adapted the style of play to match the players more. The possession stats decreasing shows that they have become more direct as the season has progressed.

Mr Rogers. Will not allow lou to leave. He has the final say. Two CB will be coming from holland an maybe new keeper.

21 Mar 2013 19:17:07
think suarez will stay one more year, if not, then we will move on as always. 50-60 million, br will slot in a few tasty payers with that money.
br first season, not bad if you ask me, look at fergie, 7 years for title, a further 6 years for ec, yeah 13 years for european cup. takes time. so let's relax, our club is moving in right direction at last.

B O H

Why do people go on about what a manager done 20 years ago as if its relevant? Its not and has no bearing on football today. I can guarantee that the next Utd manager won't get 6 years or even half that to win anything.

The Irish Rover {Ed001's Note - the next United manager won't be taking over a team that has not won anything for 20 odd years though. Your point is quite simply as irrelevant as the one you are trying to dismiss.}

I disagree, its completely relevant. If Utd hadnt won anything in the last 20 years god knows how many managers they would have gone thru and they certainly would not be getting 6 years to sort it.

The Irish Rover

No one is asking to give rodgers 6 years with out reward, but to want a manager out after 6months is a bit harsh, we need to give him till end of the season at the very least and if he has got us more points then last year that is called improvement, he seems to have the attack almost sorted, now he needs time to sort the defence out

Which makes your point irrelevant, as they have won heaps over the past two decades Irish.

Melbourne CFC

22 Mar 2013 09:09:43
Won anything for 20 odd years? Did we not win the Carling Cup last season? Have we not won the CL and FA cup in the last 20 years. Some people are just so clueless, yet they think they know it all.

21 Mar 2013 19:03:08
Suarez rubbishes claims about leaving again today.
Do we need to keep going over this

21 Mar 2013 14:38:36
I know we have a lot of promising youths Eds, but what is your current opinion of Jon Flanagan?

Wisdom and Kelly have been favoured over him when we needed cover for the right back position - probably because they have more strength for playing against adults and to blood them in for the CB position. I know these two will move to the CB position in time, but do you think Flanagan has it in him to become a first teamer for us?

A couple years down the road and we'll have Ryan McLaughlin who by all reports, and the few matches I've streamed of the youngsters, looks to be one of the most promising defenders we have in our academy.

So to sum up; Jon Flanagan, will he make the grade? {Ed001's Note - it doesn't look likely he will, his lack of pace is a huge issue for a modern day full back. He did get a chance to try his hand in midfield, but he looks likely to be moving on.}

I rate Flanagan. When he came in and played for the first team I think he did really well. Just unfortunate that he got injured the time he did. He could have got a couple of chances when Wisdom did. I do think he could make a few more appearances but there is a huge amount of decent players already in that position and the games I've seen with mclaughlin he has been extremely well. I think next season he may get a few games.

FowlerGod.

Does anyone remember when Flanno smashed Balotelli? What a way to introduce yourself.

FowlerGod.

Isn't Flanagan Jamie Carraghers business partners son.
That's ok at schoolboy level to force your way forward, you know? All the right people all the right avenues to go down but once your in the big league, you'll get found out and he has been.
The same thing you get with footballers sons really? Most only get so far and then they get found out.

Think Suso's lack of pace will be telling ed001?
He maybe looks a yard slow. ?
The J {Ed001's Note - no, totally different position. Modern full backs need pace to get back into position after an attack, attacking midfielders just need to be creative.}

Flanagan is absolutely awful and we need to sell him ASAP, he's not good enough simple as that

I don't think Flanno or Spearing will ever be up to the standard required for LFC but boy do they have heart and spirit. I think they will both make a decent living from the game though I suspect it will be elsewhere.
DT

Thanks to the people who posted their views on our defensive problems at free kicks and corners, we defo need a dominant C/half like Hypia, who we have never replaced, and a dominant tough midfielder, let's hope we get them soon, as for placing a defender on the post for free kicks I still feel it's better to have one there than not, but that's just my opinion.

You really like the idea of a defender on the post for free kicks George, your tenacious on this point. What team have you seen that employs this tactic? Seriously.

Chelsea have done it a few times this season with ash cole saving them a few times

Newcastle tried it against us once and the keeper and man on the post got in the way of each other and we scored if I remember correctly.

FLRedfish, hiya mate, after watching our keeper have no chance of reaching the free kick against Southampton, and the gap between our goalie's dive and the far post it made sense to me, with a defender covering the space we have a chance at least, there's no reason they should get in each others way as the defender could stand on the line and the GK half a metre in front of it, no problem.

Last post on this, if it saves us three points or a goal against then why not?

21 Mar 2013 18:39:07
If he really wants to go then sell the ****er - if we get top dollar and buy 2-3 quality players then we win all ends up. I personally think Saurez owes us another season after the way the club and fans have stuck by him. I swear because his statement annoys me a bit, we lose one game at Southampton and then this.

Rodgers has definately taken us forward this year and if I think we have a real chance of top 4 next year. Some of the football has been great in the last few months - a bit of luck and we would be right in amongst it. So, either way - we win if Luis goes, 60-70 mill has to be realistic for a player of his age sitting at the top of the goal scoring charts in the prem.

I'd then buy two or three top draw players. Personally I'd bring Alonso home, buy foster and Williams. Then blow the summers kitty on a striker, maybe a 15 mill bid for michu.

Gazman

Relax bro. its difficult to translate interviews. it was give in his native language and (TRANSLATED) by the british media. iam sure you already know there is a huge anti Liverpool stance in the media. this is just another attempt to unsettle the hands down player of the season in the EPL so British media's favorite club manUERs RVP can win it.

You looking for an 8 match ban?

If he really wants to go then sell the ****er

===================

He has n't even left yet. we don't even know if he is leaving.
The rest of your post is just pure nonsense

We can't attract quality players as we're notin the CL, all that will happen is BR will go and buy 2 players from Swansea for £15m each claiming they are the new messi.

I can see him paying through the nose for Michu just because he's had one good season

Wouldn't trust BR with the money TBH, reckon FSG should put it down towards the stadium or there own pockets {Ed001's Note - you mean Swansea players such as Coutinho and Sturridge?}

Little wonder players leave with fans this bad

Why is he a ****er? He hasn't left yet, has he?

To be fair, we haven't just lost 1 game against Southampton.

The Irish Rover

Even though the translation is accurate ( and it is ), at no point has Suarez said "I want to leave. "

I think he'll give us another season, especially as the club stuck by him during his troubles with that horrible Manc Evra.

If we don't qualify for the Champs League next season then there is a possibiliy he might leave.

What concerns me is the fact that United, Chelsea and City can target and buy £30m players where as we are looking at £11-£15m players. Let's not forget the salaries that come with big signings. This will be a fact that Suarez will be aware of.

For me, no player is bigger than Liverpool Football Club. We will move on, we always have and we always will.

Nicky D

. and not BR can't even find another Messi! Why not?!

We can't attract quality players? So you think Coutinho is what?

What do you mean fans this bad Chris? I didn't make inflammatory comments, Luis Suarez did. After what he has dragged the club through over the last 2 years then he should of be keeping his mouth shut and the only sounds he should be making should be seet ones. No one is bigger than Liverpool chris, not Luis Suarez and not you either.

Gazman

Read what Saurez has said Roy. You are deluded if you think this isn't a come and get me plea after the defeat that effectively killed our champions league hopes (slender admittedly) - its the timing that's a massive kick in the teeth for Rodgers. But you keep kidding yourself son and il see you back here in June.

Read it.

Anyone else think Suarez should have his contract changed from:

Suarez can talk to other clubs if a 40m bid is made.

To

Suarez can talk to foreign radio stations only if 40m is paid up front?

MIKEY

He really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. will be interesting to know how influenced he is by those around him, particularly his agent

That's just pure crap Roy. Who cares what his agent thinks! Or anyone else for that matter.

Gazman

22 Mar 2013 11:50:41
Gazman, I imagine Suarez cares what his agent thinks! that's the whole point of a agent, right?

21 Mar 2013 18:00:54
With all the talk about Suarez going or staying (I think he will stay at least another season) how many players have left Liverpool in the last 20 years and have been a success elsewhere?
Not many apart from Alonso.
Torres failed, Owen failed, Macherano spends a lot of time on the bench, Fowler and Rush only did ok away from Anfield.
The grass is not always greener.

Depends how you class success/failure - Owen and Torres for example have earnt bucket loads more cash and won honours they would not have got in the same time at Liverpool (Owen - EPL, Torres ECL). Sure, if you're judging it on form, level of performance or playing time they may have been failures but it depends what their objectives were for moving really.

Macherano spends a lot of time on the bench?

======================
Dont think so.
How many trophies did Macherano win since leaving Liverpool
How many trophies did Torres win since leaving Liverpool

You lot really need to rid yourself of this bitter jealousy and think constructively rather than just bring everyone else down

Owen won EPL, PMSL!, does it really count, considering he hardly played or made much of a contribution. Surely if he had stayed and won the Champions League in 2005, it would have meant more - winning something with the club that brought you into professional football.

MidlandRed

Who do you support Roy?

Gazman

22 Mar 2013 08:42:18
When your already a multi-millionaire, I would doubt as much focus is on cash, because let's face it, they have already earn't enough to ever need another penny again!

Professionally speaking, I doubt F. T is happy! He may have won the champs league, but being able to take out his entire contribution and Chelsea still would have won, it can't be fun for him!

I guess the same would apply to Owen, Bit part players would be a compliment!

21 Mar 2013 17:56:22
Good evening if and I say this praying it doesn't happen if luis goes will they be workin on a replacement as we speak or could they promise suarez that Quality rather than quantity will be coming to our club because believe me if they have to sell were doomed and so are our owners because without him we wouldn't attract Quality players I think were in for a exciting summer either way LUIS give us 1 more year because I really think buck is our man to make us great again JON96 {Ed002's Note - There is no way that the club will be making promises to Suarez about who they will buy.}

Be honest. what quality players could LFC realistically attract in our current plight?

Quality players like Suarez you mean?

The Irish Rover

The main point I take from this post, whether Suarez is promised or not, is that we should go for quality rather than quantity.

I'd rather have 2 quality players coming in than 4 or 5 average players. History has proved that when we go for quality, they are usually a success. Not only are the average players a gamble, they block the progress of youngsters coming through.

I'm sure Luis would stay if we spent the budget on a couple of top class signings, players who would be closer to his level and able to make him look even better than he is now. That would be a step forward. If Luis leaves, it will be 2 steps back.

redmersey

Why not ed? Surely they can say we have x why and z lined up, give us until early august to prove it {Ed002's Note - That is not how clubs work - it would be an absolute joke and turn the club in to a laughing stock.}

21 Mar 2013 17:50:51
Being honest, I'm sure when it was announced that Suarez was replacing Torres many people were saying the same thing. "How can he replace El Nino?" and "He's not as good as Torres!". Well guess what? We got through it. Suarez was just another one of them players who Liverpool fans had heard was a good player. He was just about as well known as the likes of Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres before they came to Liverpool. Not exactly world-class players at the time but they made their name at Liverpool and went on to become world-class. The same with Suarez. When we got him not many people knew who he was or how much of an impact he could make. But look at what he has done! He is now easily in the top 10 players in the world whereas beforehand, he would have been lucky to make the top 50. The same with Torres and Alonso when they arrived at Liverpool. I have no doubt in my mind that there will be another 'good' player that will come to Anfield and make the impact those players have made. Whether it will be when Suarez eventually leaves Liverpool or not I don't know, but we always seem to get them type of players!
I personally think Suarez will stay but just a thought in case he does.
Keep the faith!
-Beany.

We should have bought one or two of his Ajax team mates too!

21 Mar 2013 17:29:08
Hi eds any new to report whose latest players were linked/intersted in?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

21 Mar 2013 17:21:07
Lads the 40m euro clause in Suarez' contract is so he can talk to other clubs, not what teams will be buying him for. I feel this will be like the Torres situation - one of our best players not for sale - in the sense that the only way the player will be sold is if a club comes in with an offer the club can't turn down (which I feel will be in the region of £50m) or if the player and club express a desire to part company. My only worry with Suarez is he can be a bit controversial. I don't expect him to but I feel he may try force a move through if he doesn't feel we are heading in the right direction. However I am hopeful he will stay. When I saw on the news he was 'hinting at a Liverpool exit' I got worried, but I have come to get used to the media making a big deal over some things. Not only that he hasn't said he wants to leave or he would consider leaving he just said playing in the Champions League is something he really wants to do. And if you read the full interview he said:
"I’m in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool. We have to realise we have a new manager who is imposing a philosophy and a way of playing that the players are adapting to as best we can. We hope that it will bear fruit next year. "

This for me seems like a player who is looking forward to next season with Liverpool, not a player who wants out. Also please don't abuse the Ed's, I wouldn't be typing this post if it wasn't for them and they have stated clearly to the best of their knowledge about the Suarez situation.
Thanks Ed's!
-Beany.

21 Mar 2013 16:54:19
I've been thinking about this opinion of mine, which I didn't want to post really, because ed will take the mickey on the financial side, and other posters will call me a FIFA manager. Here goes.
There is no other footballer on the planet better at what he does than Suarez ( with exception of Ronaldo and messi) I believe we have the 3rd best forward in the world. Now, I believe if he goes, it will put us 5 years back. If Suarez goes, we will have nothing. so, I want fsg, to go all out this summer, with no limit on their budget. I want big names all over the park. A sort of make or break summer, building a team around him. ( he should be cf and Sturridge moved right wing)
You can say to me " no ones bigger than the club" " someone else will replace him" but if we think with our heads over our hearts, we are very lucky to have him. We haven't finished in the top 4 for 3 or 4 years. We must do everything to keep a hold of him I believe, and I cringe as I say these next words believe me. We need to spend big (if needs be) on big players.
Don't kill me too much, I just think I'd cry if we lost him. He's a freakin genius. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has been spending "big". There is not the money to do what you want I am afraid Benny. I suspect if Liverpool had not lost last weekend then this and hundreds of other posts would not have been written.}

I remember when Torres went it was the end of the world, then came along Suarez to show us it wasn't.
I also remember it being the end of the world when owen left, that season was also quite memorable at the end if I remember rightly.

MIKEY

Were you by any chance involved in the running of Portsmouth FC a few years back?

HB

21 Mar 2013 19:02:47
Benny baller mate even if owners spend big its going to be very tough to attract big names as we don't have champions league neither can Rodgers, we need top manager with pedigree in europe who can attract/convince players to join Liverpool, Liverpool will never move foward with Rodgers in fact its going to get tougher and tougher to get champions league back with him as manager, we need to hire top manager whose name should be enough to attract big players, if we sell suarez and Rodgers is still manager then expect more players like Allen or borini or sturridge or coutinho etc because this are the players that rodgers can only attract and suarez money will be spent on this kind of players which will be end of our hopes of top4 for years.

I know we have ed. and yes the post is out of my nature. We've spent big on many squad player though. Take the 25m, for Allen and borini. I'd prefer that being put on one top drawer striker. Sound stupid doesn't it.
I guess, now we have a lot better squad players, we can maybe go for bigger fish to impact the first team. They say the teams only as good as its weakest link. In that department we've come along way, at a price.

21 Mar 2013 16:46:26
Dalglish Rush Fowler Owen Torres Suarez. The list of incredible forwards will go on and on at this football club. Don't worry if Suarez leaves Liverpool for someone will be moulded into another top striker. I hope he stays forever and achieves great things with us, but if he wants to leave then so be it. DBol

You forgot Heskey!

And Voronin, Dundee, Ngog, Borini.

And Carroll, Sean Dundee, Karl Heinz, camara, and gog,

I still remember losing sleep over losing Keegan and we all know who replaced him, but in my opinion Suarez will stay, but time will tell I suppose.

21 Mar 2013 15:28:52
Hi Ed's, can you shead any light on these rumours circulating about the senior players being uphappy with the setup? against Rodgers and FSG or is this total bull.
Cheers,
Neil {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it Neil - Twitter perhaps?}

No not twitter Ed, just based on reading through some peoples comments on here I thought they'd read a snippet from somewhere.
Cheers anyway {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Twitter.}

I think people have picked upon interview Gerrard gave in four, four two. Neil.
"Brendan has his ideals about how the game should be played, but if that’s not working, he doesn’t suggest an alternative strategy. He wants us to improve that way, rather than look for a Plan B or Plan C. "
This was posted on here earlier so try googling it. {Ed002's Note - I don't see the bit where he says "senior players are unhappy at the setup there"?}

Ed he's reading in between the lines that don't exist you can make anything up that way haha

AndyKopLiverpool {Ed002's Note - Right Andy - I am pretty certain that Gerrard is not sending out secret messages.}

Exactly Ed, I'm not sure if there was an article saying "Senior players unhappy with setup". I seen a poster quoting what Gerrard said and I don't think Gerrard is criticising Rodgers. In fact I think he is praising him. In my opinion he is saying Rodgers doesn't want a plan B for the team, he wants the players to learn from their mistakes and earn their money, by playing the way he wants them to. And he's right. If players can't play a certain style of play and still pick up their 60,000+ per week maybe they don't deserve it. So I personally think Gerrard is praising Rodgers. I may be wrong but that's my view.
Thanks,
-Beany.

21 Mar 2013 15:14:29
The Suarez comments were not lost in translation, the statements reported are really accurate.

But, he has not said he wants to leave, he's stated smoething that is on most top footballer's minds. He wants to play at the top of his game (Champions League) and if interest comes in from other clubs his representatives may talk to them, they may not.

I personally think he'll give us another season and I'm certainly not hitting the panic button just yet.

Nicky D

Where's the panic button?

Hit it because he's going

im going to say give rodgers time just too see what happens and so I don't get my head bit off but I really don't think he has what it takes, people say he's young and needs time to build his squad bla bla but we weren't that bad under kk and could compete with the best and I just think he has dismantled us further, just imagine if he had took over a top side like united and brought in the likes of allen and got rid of some of their players. believe me they wouldn't be top but probably 4th, he just isn't a winning guy unlike fergie who can get the best out of a poor team and average players. I think he will be here next season, sign more guff, lose suarez, gerrard will seem a shell of his former self and move on after next season and people like sterling will look to go elsewhere taking us further down then he will be sacked at the end of next season and once again will go on about transition with the next fergie wannabe

Just incase you didn't know your hero ''fergie'' didn't win anything for 6 years and was nearly sacked before that. Give the guy a break! We are WELL off top 4 get use to it BR will get us there. His style is fine he just needs better players. We are not there as a squad, not because BR is in charge.

The words ''no idea'' come to mind

Wern't that bad under KK? We finished 8th after spending over £100 million and didn't have even have to balance our squad due to european matches aswell.
We are currently only 7 points behind our total for the entire campaign last season and we still have 8 games to play. We have scored more goals, conceded less and won more home games already.
Considering we lost so many experienced players such as maxi, kuyt and bellamy, plus cut the wage bill so our squad was unbelievably thin, I don't think BR has done that bad.
Surely the likes of Downing and Henderson have shown that we shouldn't judge players like Allen and Borini so quickly, especially when they have had injuries.

Jay

21 Mar 2013 16:18:54
and what evidence do you have that suggests we will get there because we are even behind our bluenose neighbours and will probably lose our best player who has kept us where we are, we aren't just miles behind united and city but we are a long way of chelsea arsenal and tottenham and without suarez we can say goodbye to any hopes of top 4

Fergie took 3 and a half years to win the FA Cup but it's a fair point. There is no instant cure. Because you have had so much success in the 70's and 80's it's hard to live with not winning. Changing your Manager every year won't get you anywhere though. Like it or lump it, you have to give the guy time. He might turn our to be great, or he might turn out to be full of mumbo jumbo (which my money is on).

brendon rodgers must think he is buck rodgers, with allen as his little side kick, I've said it before he is making Liverpool into merseyside swansea f. c. why can't he look further than swansea, and I don't rate ashley williams, if he was that good swansea would be higher up the table

Fabio Borini - AS Roma
Philippe Coutinho - Inter Milan
Daniel Sturridge - Chelsea
Oussama Assaidi - Heerenveen

There you go. Dispels your silly myth that Rodgers doesn't 'look further than Swansea'

JFT 96

JP

What was the name of the side kick of buck Rogers? That little guy who always said: bee dee bee dee bee dee got'ya buck?

Obviously because one player makes a team. Silly me.

By that sort of logic, one would have to conclude that Suarez is not as good as people think, seeing as how we're what, 7th in the league? You simply can't base an individual player's capabilities on the overall team's performance.

21 Mar 2013 16:01:13
Last season, Victor Moses was fighting relegation with Wigan. This season, he's played and scored in the Champions League for the European Champions and won the AfCON for Nigeria. What's your logic u person?
RedBeer

He's won a medal and is in europe next season, not bad for there second season in the league, and first with a new manager.

Buck's sidekick was Twiki. bidi bidi. hiya Buck

I'm a spurs fan but I'd like to add, I've watched Ashley Williams many times this year and I think he is a sensational defender. He reminds me of Ledley king very passionate to win every ball and doesn't switch off for a second. I would personally be jealous if lfc signed him!

Best of luck for the future

22 Mar 2013 09:12:10
We bought 1 player from Swansea, how the hell did this get 14 agrees?

21 Mar 2013 14:17:53
Suarez is obviously fishing for a move, I love him as a player but to think he is not looking at a move is just daft. Unfortunately when club officials get asked by the press they have to tow the line that we love him and he loves us. This is going to make us look daft again. To be fair though he came probably expecting to partner Torres and expecting to compete for everything, and unlike Torres when he has realised that's not the current reallity, he has continued to give his best.

According to some, Suarez has been 'fishing for a move' from the first day he stepped foot inside Melwood.

The lad is inundated with questions from all global media regarding his future. It's ridiculous and cringe worthy.

In his defence, the lad is naive, very naive, yet imagine the commotion if he refused to answer a question regarding his future?

He just can't win.

The thing is, he's just a liar is Suarez! When he says 'he's happy and loves the city, fans and club etc', it's a lie, the commitment of a new contract is all in false pretenses and his statement that he 'wants to stay and win things with Liverpool' is complete and utter balls.

I suggest you worry at the end of the season, then, if he stays, you can moan throughout the following season, and so-on-and-so-forth.

Personally, I don't worry, what will be will be, but one thing I am proud of is that I feel blessed to watch a player of that quality grace the turf at Anfield wearing our beloved crest. That's good enough for me, and £50 million plus would be good enough for any club.

DaveyBootle

Lets all just make stuff up davey and call it fact.
I would never leave a club where the fans call me a liar but in my defence call me naive.

then others fans want me to leave cause they think i'm to good for the club while saying no player is bigger then the club.

with fans like you lot why would anyone ever want out of this club.

anyone who wants suarez to leave cause he is bigger then the club is a bigger suarez fan then a Liverpool one, and should transfer their support along with suarez if he go's.

Ed 002 is a bit misleading sometimes. maybe not understanding the full detail in these things

40m is Suarez buy out if ONE club bids for him. It buys you a seat at the table. There are 4 clubs seriously interested. Bayern Madrid Juventus and Man City. Suarez will go abroad when he leaves already stating it would be very hard to decline Barcelona or Madrid.

We are talking £55m fee will be the deal to be settled on.

Foolsgold {Ed002's Note - I rather think I got it right and this is perhaps rather misleading. I never mentioned a "buy out" as there isn't one. The €40M relates to something entirely different as I explained.}

Correcting something that Ed002 never even said, lol, good work!

I Love Luis Suares,
A Real Liverpool No. 7.

21 Mar 2013 13:36:34
Suarez should play his hand, either the owners invest in the club in the summer significantly or he should leave. Personally, I think he should leave if there is no investment for the future, because he is far better than LFC under this scenario. He deserves better than a Liverpool that will not invest.

He will be sold because we need to keep the bank happy no european income same as when we sold ian rush and rush did not want to go.

The trouble with investing is no CL, you can try to buy as many players as possible, but unless you can give them CL, they will not come, it leaves you with creating a team that will be in the CL the season after next, so you will run the risk of players wanting to leave, certainly players of Suarez class, so the task ahead is to forge a squad that can qualify for the CL, whilst keeping your best players, so expect any investment in the next transfer window to be aimed at a top four finish next season, if Suarez stays we have a chance, if he goes?well that will make life even harder for us to get CL, footbal for season 2014-2015 so I think we have to be honest to ourselves, and not build our hopes up until after the next transfer windows buisness is complete. Not only sahin even our own senior players have started questioning Rodgers, this is just beginning, no manager can justify playing 4-2-4, Gerrard and couple of senior players are just example why Rodgers only loves working with kids, Liverpool job is too big for him, if this continues and Liverpool don't achieve champions league next season then fans at anfield will not only turn on him but sacking of rodgers will get louder and louder!

21 Mar 2013 13:55:55
If we have so called 'senior' and 'mature' squad members questioning their boss, perhaps it is them who needs sacking? If I questioned my manager for doing his job, but having underperforming staff working for him, I'd be out of the door, not him. You can only work with what you are given. Did Rodgers tell Skrtel to gift them 2 goals last Sunday?

YNWA! (Adam)

21 Mar 2013 14:12:17
Adam mate your forgetting that rodgers has spennt 60M+ and hasn't achieve what he promised to owners, or maybe we should sack all our senior players and bring more swansea and kids to achieve top4 because Rodgers can do no wrong.

Yeah, agree, Tactics aside, it was player mistakes that cost us.
On here Allen got made the scape goat, I had to work at the last minute and couldn't go, but the lads that did said they were all poor.

When you come to a new club and have the chance to buy players but you spend your money on allen and borrini you as a manager are suspect in what you constitute as being a player good enough to get you and your team a top place, win cups etc.

Hello Eds, doing a great job, as usual!

Fellow fans, don't panic! Newspapers read 2+2 and make 11! The only sad thing I notice is that our fans, myself included, are constantly worried that our players might leave. In our minds, have we become a team who loses players to other teams?
No guys, we haven't, Liverpool is still a 'magic' name where football is concerned. Istanbul is talked about from Turkey to Timbaktu!
I only wished we had a plan B! Without a plan B, we are stuck! Teams read us and close up and we are left with tippy-tappy possession while getting caught on the break (don't try to remember, please!)
I wish we had Carroll back, his heading power and his holding up the ball while we're under pressure. it's a great shame!
I'm not a fan of Rodgers, his buying, his system etc. but, as long as he's LFC manager I WILL support him and wish him the best!
Suarez is not leaving, more signings in the summer, Europe is still possible! YNWA

Was with you until the Carrol "Plan B" talk. Just putting a big lug up top doesn't equate to success or goals. I'd also go so far as to say that suarez can hold up the ball tremendously more effective and actually produces goals/assists and he isn't that big.

I totally agree, but standby to be crucified by the Brendophiles for who the man can do no wrong, even if we finish 10th or 11th, no trophies and no European football, He's still "finding his feet" I got news for ya Brendan they're at the bottom of ya legs. "pass me that cross will ya"

Iran Red, we salute you,
welcome to the family.

Dav. I don't know how you guys get of bed in the mornings seriously, moan moan doommongers.
Its not rogers fault we haven't won a league title for 23 years.
But reading some of the doommongers ya'd think its only started since rogers arrived.

aptain Steven Gerrard revealed that there is a shortage of a Plan B from Rodgers, who would rather the team continue to improve on Plan A, than change style:

“Brendan has his ideals about how the game should be played, but if that’s not working, he doesn’t suggest an alternative strategy. He wants us to improve that way, rather than look for a Plan B or Plan C. ”

Taxi for Carroll.

The Juicer

Gerrard 4 manager!

21 Mar 2013 14:10:14
Who needs a plan B? I don't see Barca with a 6ft5 forward, lumping it long. If teams sit deep and park the bus to hit you on the break, you tactically adjust this system. E. g. Leave 3 pacey players back, and push on the players better with the ball in closed spaces:

Quite simple in my mind. The problem is a lack of discipline. If we are playing a park the bus side, Johnson and Enrique should sit back to nulify counter attacks. It means we lose a threat out wide, but if the opposition are putting 9/10 men in their own box, crossing it is a losing battle anyway. It just means Gerrard can push forward with his ability to unlock a side, rather than sit deep with Lucas.

This to me shows one thing we lack. another attacking midfielder. Hendo isn't ready. Saw Nicol suggest Scweinsteiger. That'd be nice. but back in the real world, Eriksen, Honda or Turan would be sensational signings. Difficult, but possible. The other option, is two new wingers instead of just one, and put Coutinho in the middle?

Just quit with the plan B stuff. "Oh look, Chelsea are sitting deep, activate 'Stoke mode'!"

YNWA! (Adam)

With all due to respect to Steven Gerrard, and his valued importance to the club's recent and present history, it is Plan B that is being played now if you watch the games closely. The current practice of having him and Enrique launch long passes to the sprinting forwards, and bypassing the midfield every time has nothing of the possession based Plan A about it. This Plan B is as per the available players talents' so please spare Rodgers the unwarranted criticism. Plan A couldn't be executed by the players and Plan B is not shooting the club up to 4th place. So? It's not Rodgers' fault.

Just a thought, do Barcelona have a Plan B as such?

Just plan A please with quality players. Plan B? Alehouse fooball is not for me.
Allardyce and Pullis are clueless.

What Ian Ayre should have said :
"I will stake my job on Luis Suarez being here next season".

The Juicer

Taxi for Ayre. {Ed002's Note - If Ayre has to account for anything it is why is the player continuing to be such a DF and talk about his future when the club has repeatedly told him not to.}

Whats a DF?

"Whats a DF?"

you are ;)

21 Mar 2013 19:39:19
Spot on Ed. That guy just can't shut his mouth for a second. Its like he thinks he's bigger than LFC already and I suspect none of the managers have been able to put him in his place.

When he goes on glorious dribbles instead of squaring a simple pass, no one says anything. When we are winning comfortably and he's subbed, he displays a disgusting body language.

Now he's just speaking to anyone and everyone and not taking simple instructions. Whenever he opens his mouth, it stinks. "Its my fate score goals and annoy referees. " What a stupid statement by a pro footballer. He's even starting to make us look weak with his constant I will listen offers from bigger clubs in CL. Ayre says one thing and Suarez undermines him with something else.

If he wants to go, let him do so. We will degfinitely bring other players who will stay long enough to surpass his records. But I will hate to see him do another Mascherano styled exit.

Regards to HB:
You've missed the point? Again.
My statement on an earlier thread has nothing to do with the quality of Suarez?
My point was if he was at BM and they had a Manager who liked to rest or sub star players say because of up and coming CL game.
Luis Suarez would not like it, whatever the reason for him being rested or subbed as he likes to play every minute of every game or he's inclined to see his ass.
Which could turn out to be a real problem at certain clubs.
Rooney and RVP for example get left on the bench for certain games. Could you see Suarez being happy with that.
Even if he gets a knock in a game he very rarely gets treatment on the pitch he's that terrified of getting taken off.
He more than any other player I've seen in recent years puts his heart and soul into every single performance and we absolutely love him for it, he plays football exactly how everyone of us supporters would play it if we were good enough and earning that sort of money

I missed your point? Was replying to:

"It's not for him worrrying all week whether or not he'll make the team"

All I said is surely if Suarez is as good as you guys say he would be a regular starter at Bayern or Juve? TBH I could see him being a real star at either of those 2 clubs (possibly not at Real/Barca) but certainly at those other 2. He is also likely to win league titles at either, and to challenge regularly for the CL.

Having said all that - if Suarez is going to throw a strop every time he is rested as you suggest - perhaps he would not fit in at a top side after all!

HBadger

Thanks HB, You got it, I have my doubts as to whether he would fit in at a club, that shall we say liked to rotate their forwards.
If he does leave and things don't work out? It's another ex player we can pine after re-signing every transfer window.
ps, don't tell the eds lol

Hey kidmillions

I know, I can see the future posts nowv- please Eds can we re-sign Suarez, Alonso, Masch, Torres and have KK as manager? :)

On Suarez, the thing is he wants CL football (whether at Liverpool or elsewhere) - surely any team at that level is going to rotate, you can't play 75+ games a season! I feel I need to reiterate also I said I think he would be a 'star' as you put it at Juve or BM so I don't see that being an issue.

It just makes him sound flakey to suggest he would throw a hissy fit every time he doesn't play IMO. A bit like Tevez did, and now look how 'less in demand' he has become.

As an aside I think it's 50/50 that he goes (far from a certainty) but I would suggest he might be wise to do so given the money, success and honours he could achieve at BM/Juve. Also to work with Pep could be quite cool for him. Just my opinion.

Hi Eds,

Any Update on the Stadium Upgrade News?

Yes, the club are scamming another batch of seats from long term season ticket holders and making them available to Thomas Cook for weekend package deals as they can suck more money from out of towners

i think one of the big differences this season and why our back 4 seem to be brittle is the loss of steve clarke he was in my opinion one of the big losses of the last few years. I would also like to see Coates given a run in the team to see how he does not the odd cameo as it takes time to settle in a partnership, you can not just drop a player in for a game slate him then drop him for 6 or so games and then say he has had a chance, he is not known as one of the best prospects in world football for nothing

I think we've struggled defensively due to a number of factors. Skrtel being out of form, Reina lacking in confidence which has an effect, Lucas not being up to speed as yet, Stevie not tracking back unless we're playing Man U and playing 3 up front leaving the midfield vulnerable.

I totally agree with giving Coates a run in the team, I posted yesterday about it, carragher is retiring and Skrtel will be leaving too, so I think it's time to see what Coates can do with a run in the team!

Question to the ed's or someone that knows.

Is it true Villjan Bijev has gained a work visa? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know, sorry.}

Yes he did, the commentators mentioned that in the last U-21 game

Yes he has. was on the bench for the U21 game against Wolves.

The problem with everyone on here is that they believe every thing the newspapers say and believe every silly little rumour, then the panic creeps in and you come on here to voice your frustrations about the rumours you have heard! What ever happens at Liverpool over the next few years, if its our best players leave or retire etc, no matter what happens ill support the team 100%! I think Suarez will give it one more year with us and see where we are, if we don't get champs lge footy then yeah he will go elsewhere and who can blame him! People have ambitions and if they can't get it at our club then they move on! Fair play to them, it hurts us as supporters but everything changes, you either roll with the changes or get stuck in a rut and go nowhere! What we Liverpool fans need to realise is that we aren't as good as we once were, we aren't the best in England anymore and haven't been for a long time, we need to look to the future and not live in the past! Is Rodgers the man to take us there? Only time will tell but ill give him and the club my full support win, lose or draw!

Right just a few points that i'd like to throw out there,
Firstly this is my own opinion but i'd quite like an owner who consistently has something to say regarding the club and where it stands regarding players, stadium issues etc etc, I don't like the way Ian Ayre goes about his business and in my opinion I don't think he's the man to represent this club in the media,

Secondly i'm very interested to see after this season how we progress with regards to transfers and players coming in/out I like Rodgers the man, but i'm still not convinced of his approach come matchday, Just the same as i'm not convinced of his ability to be able to bring in truly world class players, in my eyes when people like Nuri Sahin speak of unrest at evn working with the man whether its a hard cheese story or not makes you wonder whether all the senior pros are going along with the programme.

And lastly. Seriously now we are NOT project, people have stated it for 20 years and its nonsense and the sooner the likes of our manager start to see this and get ruthless the better, we are one of the countries premier football clubs who shouldn't be talking very year like we have a ready made excuse for finishing outside the top four, we should be battling for it on a level playing field like anyone else, please let's stop all this project nonsense as we don't spend the money of a project we spend the money of a big club. I recall Man City being a project of a new owner and winning the title within 3 years, granted i'm not unrealistic, they can afford any wages they like but that's not my point, we are a big club not a work of art that needs perfecting, its too long been a ready made excuse for anyone stepping in and it needs to stop, blimey Kennys football was hardly any different just with the lack of goals, in fact youd argue the back four was a sight more solid!,

Anyway rant over, YNWA JFT96 Guv over and out. {Ed002's Note - This is the first post I have seen advocating a Dave Whelan type owner.}

Good post

I agree with the Sahin comment. He gives an insight into how BR runs the show. Sahin is being deployed according to his attributes by a class manager and he's playing a blinder! What a surprise!

All this spin of 'the group, the philosophy, the project, the blips, the bad days at the office ect ect' have to stop and REAL progression has to be seen!

Wouldn't surprise me if Jamie C tells some truths about the current LFC situation at the end of the season come his retirement.

RedDoc

Thid begs the question does BR really have the foresight to move us forward?
Sahin is the classic case, play him out of position and he's very ordinary, play him in a natural role and he excels.
With the way his team selections and substitutes have been i'm beginning to think he's lacking the know how myself, and yes he seems a nice man but maybe not cut out to be a top top motivator, tactician or manager.

Your never going to please all of the people all the time, it's impossible.
It's very naive to believe everything that Sahin says in relation to Rodgers.
Sahin is always going to slant his opinion in favour of himself so as to save face.
He's hardly likely to come out and say "I didn't really have the pace, tenacity or workrate to succeed at LFC. Now ask yourself, seriously is he? No I don't think so.
What's his excuse for failing at Madrid? Perhaps he thinks Mourinho doesn't know what he's doing.
When players earning fantastic wages and carrying round massive egos fail? They have to blame someone.
So wise up and read between the lines, if you can.

Well said Kid!

The real AG

Kid. Its not a case of wising up, i'm 39 and wise enough ta, I've followed this club since I was 5 years old and have seen many many changes, I appreciate your comment regarding Sahins biased opinion and its a fair point we're not all 12 on here with a fifa 2013 mentality ya know! lol, In my own opinion the man had no reason at all to comment on Rodgers even in his obvious bitterness, he's gone back to a club where he is adored so to be honest no need to complain in the media unless he really has an axe to grind, I actually think in any club where a new man brings in a new system that certain players are always going to get their noses pushed out but Sahin was brought in by Rodgers and played out of position or not at all. Just dosnt make any sense at all to me,
As for ED002. that commenst cheered me up lol, i'm quite ill today and anything to do with old Whelan is always laughable!. i'm not saying we need someone spouting on the level of Whelan, i'd just like to see the actual owner deal with certain affairs and not always Ayre. he's coming across as the whipping boy I reckon and i'd rather hear from the organ grinder and not the dancing monkey. Dave Whelan!. clown! YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I hope you are feeling better soon.}

I am Nuri Sahin's biggest fan since his early days at Dortmund, but since going back he has had one good game and that came this weekend where he did play the deeper role he says he prefers however he excelled vs West Brom and Norwich in the further forward role and for me was easily bullied when he played deeper. He suffered from injuries and isn't in the form he hit in the past, that's not Rodgers fault

He looked shocking for Liverpool no matter where he played.

21 Mar 2013 08:28:22
What will happen to Martin Kelly next season?

I think his natural position is centre back and if Skrtel goes I'd like to see Kelly given a go at centre back alongside Agger.
The way we defend with a high line and full back pushing forward, we need quick centre backs. Kelly and Agger are both quick.

Totally agree, but I am concerned about his health. On the other hand, Brendans new approach to this with Agger and Gerrard has worked wonders.

Agger is overrated.

21 Mar 2013 08:14:39
Lets be honest here if we can keep Suarez which I think we will we 100% need CL footy next year or he will go. Not just for him though for the other loyal players and us fans aswell.

21 Mar 2013 08:01:21
Well if Suraez goes at least we have a ready made replacement in Carroll ;)

21 Mar 2013 06:41:45
I suppose that if Suarez goes its not as if we would have an exodus of loads of our good players as he is about the only quality one.

Can't blame him for wanting to play at an ambitious club. We are have been a feeder club for the bigger ones for a while now.

Sadly LFC under FSG are a very long term plan, more hope being a fan than expectation with side these days.

Hola, Luis here.
I was planning on staying. But, by chance, I found this website. Now. No, thank you. I'd rather go to a club where the fans have a positive attitude.
I was always in love with the way Liverpool fans treated club staff and players, with their passion, patience, support and knowledge. But, I have to say, it appears I was wrong.

All I see is a bunch of pessimistic naysayers who feel it's ok to take out their personal frustrations of life on a football club that they claim to love.
All the fickle fans climb back on the truck after 3 consecutive wins, we hit a pothole and you've all fallen off again. Make up your mind! ON of OFF, we can't keep stopping the truck to wait for you over and over again.
The road is rough, grab hold of something and ride it out, or i'll leave the wheel and send you right off the f****** hillside!

I always thought it meant something to be a part of this club, but i'm finally seeing that maybe the fans were only great while we were winning everything. Perhaps you're not strong enough to see this through? You want immediate results? Tell me one facet of life where there is such a thing.
Does it offend you to be called weak? Then, PROVE ME WRONG!

Here's some advice. This is something I tried myself recently; I'd watch tapes of my behaviour, listen to recordings of my outbursts and witness just how pathetic I sounded. I feel i've really turned a corner lately.

I urge you to do the same. Next time you're about to have a rant about how you've waited long enough for a title, or how a certain player is not good enough and the manager should be sacked; Take out your phone and record every word you spew forth; Then listen to this recording in your own time and understand these few things:

You'll first notice how pathetic it sounds for a grown person to complain about something they cannot control.
You'll then notice the tone of your voice. That's right, you sound like a 4 year old girl.
One other thing i'd like you to realise is; This "poor me" attitude doesn't help anybody, especially not yourself.
You, sitting there ranting and raving and showing your obvious lack of pride and patience WILL NOT make things happen.
You can sit there and cry, whinge, whine, complain, kick and scream blue bloody murder about not holding the trophy right now, but that won't get it in your hands, will it?
If you want something to give you the illusion of having control over a situation, and still complain when they don't do as you say, get a dog! because football is obviously not your thing.

Luis, OUT!

The majority of fans are loyal and true and its not their fault we have become second rate the owners have loyal fans all over the world fsg and all who love lfc need to step up to the plate and be counted but owners please remember we can only follow your lead we all know you are doing your best but if you know your best is not good enough please please do not take us down the h + g road. good luck to every one at lfc. ynwa

I love this post. Brilliant.

Fans are happy when the team they support wins and are sad when they lose. it's the way of life and you don't have to lose your head over it. instead, what you are doing is moaning about what you don't have control over, making you guilty of the gaffe you also pointed out in your post.

When we lose, you see negative posts and when we win you see positive ones. Its called passion.

Even on TV after each game, the pundits would usually analyze the outcome, give credit to whom it is due and point out who was at fault. This forum is equally our platform for doing the same and I don't see anything wrong in that, as long as the posts aren't out of order.

But if you think you can come here and berate everyone with a view to bullying them into accepting that all is well when clearly it isn't, then you are simply wasting your precious time as you will not succeed in that.

Our recent loss was even more emphatic because it extinguished whatever little hope we had of qualifying for CL football next season and a lot of people are bitter about this. Hardly a reason to call the 4-year old girls.

His English is getting better isn't it?

Oh get off your own High Horse. i'm a successful grown man whose quite happy with my life and career. Just because I am dissapointed with LFC when they don't play to the level that they have shown they are capable of. BR has shown a few good games and great decisions so far but there are just as many bad ones. Allen for me has been the worst so far. But even though i'm not a fan of Allen as a player and I wish LFC hadnt bought him, I will always cheer for him and the rest of the team whenever they are on the pitch!

Just becuase I voice my opinion (on a banter site no less) does not make me any less of a supporter or cheer any less for LFC each and every match day.

To: Chuck Norris.

I don't only have too much time on my hands. I also drink quite a bit.

Not a rumour, but if Suarez does leave then we don't have the ambition or right owners to take us further. work in progress yes?!?! But only three points more than this time last year and we had two cup finals then. come on stay luis!?!?!?

Suarez is more likely to leave than stay, we need to make sure we get the best deal and just because other teams know we will have money from the sale we should not do a Carroll type deal.

If Suarez leaves, it means he wants to leave, irrespective of whatever excuse he may give for leaving.

But what is more important is what we do with the money we get from his sale.

If we get up to 40m or 50m from his sale, I think it would be a good deal and I hope we spend wisely this time.

We can buy so many Michus with that money if we come off our high horse and look really hard enough in the right places.

But Whatever happens, I hope we are better off after he's gone.

let's not get on suarez's back if he decides to go, he has clearly been good for us but he's on a different level to the rest of the team. he must get frustrated

with the money we could get another jordan henderson and stewart downing

then we would definately guarantee a top half finish ;)

Suarez loves to play every minute of every game and his personality is such that he would never be happy collecting medals as a bit part player no matter how big the club.
Look at the trouble Tevez caused at City cause he wasn't playing and multiply it by 10 for Suarez.
He is really settled and still has a point to prove and will stay for at least 1 more season to prove it.
He revels in being the star player and being the 1st name on the team sheet, it gives him the freedom to play without inhibitions.
It's not for him worrrying all week whether or not he'll make the team and he's intelligent enough to know that.

Lets hope your right kid! Uglygeordiegenius

The problem is, I can not immagine the team that would not include Suarez in the first squad.

There are very few players, that I consider extra-terrestrial level. Messi, Ronaldo, and after them Suarez probably is the 3rd best in the world.
Also, Cavani, Neymar and Xavi would make the list.
And that's it. The rest are just skilled, but nothing very exceptional.

So no, there is no worrying for him.
Still, I hope he stays.

Kidmillions

You saying Suarez would not be a regular starter at a top club? That's what it sounds like. TBH if he went to BM for instance I think he could make a real name for himself playing off Mandzukic (spelling). You've spent all season saying he's the best player in the league and one of the best in the world, well then he shouldn't worry about not getting games at any club, surely?

Put iniesta on that list mate
