Question for Ed002 if I may. Heard rumours that Southampton received a bid for VVD. No info on whether it is from us or Chelsea. Have you heard anything regarding this? Thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - No.}

22 Aug 2017 22:48:23
Were you heard that Valent?

22 Aug 2017 22:51:50
Lol love these made up 'heard a rumour about a bid' posts. Just fishing for info from the Eds 😆.

22 Aug 2017 23:36:13
It's from Tom28 who's been pretty reliable up to now. Called the VVD strike days before it was reported.

{Ed002's Note - Twitter again I guess.}

22 Aug 2017 23:42:53
he heard it from saints ITK Tom28 i reckon. he's pretty good so he's probably right.

{Ed002's Note - That would be Twitter then.}

23 Aug 2017 01:48:46
It's from Saints Web, Ed002. I don't think it's reliable generally but they all seem to believe this Tom guy is legitimate.

Who knows what to believe about VVD anymore.

Jean Michael Seri

22 Aug 2017 21:48:31
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new player profile about, Jean Michael Seri

Believable3 Unbelievable1

22 Aug 2017 21:53:08
Why? 😂😂😂.

22 Aug 2017 21:56:32
I agree with your view! He was crap all night today and buckled up on high press! He needs acres of discs and hours to pick players and that's not the case when you play under Klopp. We move the hall like a black mamba! I am sorry but I wouldn't touch him after today and last weeks performance.

On another note How good was Napoli Ed01? Jorinho looks fantastic and Insigne is the player that would come anywhere near to Coutinho!

22 Aug 2017 22:06:55
Thanks eds
Not the player we need then.

22 Aug 2017 22:26:33
Jorginho is a very good player and I like Insigne a lot. Top player that.

22 Aug 2017 23:35:08
Thanks for the insight ed. Sounds like the type of player we would sign under roy hodgson.

22 Aug 2017 23:35:08
Thanks for the insight ed. Sounds like the type of player we would sign under roy hodgson.

{Ed001's Note - he played like it last night as well. I am sure his head has been turned, but, even so, he did not look like he was up to much.}

23 Aug 2017 01:00:45
Any chance of a profile on Kovacic Ed001? I'd genuinely be interested in your opinion of him.

{Ed001's Note - if I get a chance to watch him again to remind me how he plays I will do one.}

23 Aug 2017 06:46:20
Thanks Ed001, I always enjoy reading your analyses.

{Ed001's Note - cheers LL.}

22 Aug 2017 21:40:59
Ed002 I know you said yesterday that you were unaware of any deal regarding Kovacic to Liverpool, is this regurgitated news from the papers or is there any interest in the player again do you know? With regards to further interest it feels like transfer window may fizzle out, are the club pushing for deals for the known targets of Oxlade-Chamberlin, Nobby and Van Dijk or is there new interest in anyone elsewhere such as Kovacic? Thank you in advance for yours and all other Eds constant work throughout the year as again proving to be the best source for news as every year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement between Real madrid and Liverpool - I have no idea what the papers are saying.}

22 Aug 2017 21:54:40
Thank you for the response as ever Ed002, I take it there is no interest from us?

22 Aug 2017 21:29:16
Eds - A bit of a strange one this but have you heard anything about Man City sounded clubs out as they are looking to move Leroy Sane on already due to some business they are looking at before the window closes and us being asked if we are interested?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - No. Twitter is this?}

22 Aug 2017 23:15:10
Ok, thanks. Lol, No. I wouldn't even waste my time asking you about a Twitter rumour, you have more than enough doing that to keep you busy already. This is from someone connected to Raheem. It seemed too crazy to even make up but it's not from the sort of person to BS.

22 Aug 2017 23:46:06
Worst rumour of if the summer.

22 Aug 2017
New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, Coutinho in the summer brought liverpool kits for his whole family and friends 😄😄

Believable3 Unbelievable0

22 Aug 2017 20:58:30
Coutinho:
Back injury - fine, no problem.
Ill - fine, no problem too.
But no appearances for Brazil during the International weeks coming up.
If you can't turn out for the club for weeks before, you can't play for your country - that hopefully is expressed to poor old Philly!
Guaranteed Coutinho will make a miraculous recovery for Brazil next month though. GUARANTEED!

Believable8 Unbelievable4

22 Aug 2017 21:34:53
I'd rather he did. get him match fit.

22 Aug 2017 23:44:38
Or injured?

22 Aug 2017 20:54:19
Imagine the feeling you would get against Coutinho IF do not manage to qualify forthe groupstage tomorrow. We all know he would make a difference. Wven though it would not directly be his fault, I would put some of the blame on this whole saga. As when Hendo got a stupid red card against City when we fought for the title in '14, or Sakho being charged for doping just before the EL final. Unbareable! WE GO AGAIN REDS. Bring on Hoffenheim!

Believable3 Unbelievable4

23 Aug 2017 07:06:37
i’m not worried about tonights game, we where the first team to beat them at their home ground in over a year and a half WITHOUT Couts. Now being at home and having the 2 away goal advantage I think we will be fine. But I suppose it could be harder as they won’t be sitting back as much and our defence is world class! Well. In their own lil words they drift into anyway xD.

22 Aug 2017 20:19:03
Klopp looked totally pissed off in the pri match interview.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

22 Aug 2017 20:54:08
I saw that, even the Mrs asked what was up with him.

22 Aug 2017 20:54:14
No he didn't!

22 Aug 2017 21:04:16
Tbd he's looked pissed off from the end of last season,

Stress maybe but that fun loving big character seems to be lost a little atm hopefully it comes back.

22 Aug 2017 21:14:21
O yes he did.

22 Aug 2017 21:40:00
He always looks pissed during press conferences. he hates the media. basically tells it to their faces.

23 Aug 2017 01:02:15
Worst pantomime thread of the off season.

22 Aug 2017 21:28:38
I think he needs a hug! May be Ed025 could give that!

{Ed025's Note - i can do that harry, but im not going all the way to blackpool mate..

22 Aug 2017 19:50:49
Coutinho no reported as "ill"

Translation: Sick with embarrassment.
No more talk of "back trouble", then.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

22 Aug 2017 19:56:46
What odds on 'dog ate my homework' next?

22 Aug 2017 20:06:50
I think the club won't just let him back into squad. He will have to apologize and earn his place back. then he will score vital goal and we will all be happy and he will be our legend lol.

22 Aug 2017 20:21:48
Not sure if he will have to apologise. He wanted to go to Barcelona and I don't think too many people hold that against him.

22 Aug 2017 20:30:34
Build him his statue that he talked of.
A plastic 4 inch bobble head behind Shanks'

22 Aug 2017 20:33:07
I still wudnt b surprised if he got a face on, as said he had tension wid klopp an we relying on the press for info on him, this sick thing sore back all that, nope phil we ain't daft, get back in the team an shine!

22 Aug 2017 20:54:08
Has this tension with Klopp or Coutinho being a stroppy gobsh@@@ ever been confirmed by a reliable person?

23 Aug 2017 07:11:17
Fresh the only proof they have is him driving into training with a face like a smacked ass. But then there is pictures of bearly every player with the same expression cos some numpty is standing in front of their car with the camera flashing 50 times a second xD.

22 Aug 2017 18:29:05
Evening Ed1, do you think we're done for the window? It doesn't seem like anything is happening.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - no.}

22 Aug 2017 18:34:05
This may be a daft suggestion then but do you think we'll be leaving all our deals until deadline day?

{Ed025's Note - no nick, any deals will be done as soon as humanly possible mate..

22 Aug 2017 19:30:58
Ed025, do you know anything about Keita's alleged househunting? I can't tell if it's somebody pulling a ruse to wind the site users up or if it's legit.

Also, who is Wonder dog sparky? I can't make head or tail of that twitter account!

BTW. Never a sending off for Schneiderlin last night. Awful refereeing the whole match.

{Ed025's Note - all that house hunting malarkey has got to be a wind up GK, you will have to ask ED002 about sparky mate but your dead right about that ref last night..he was woeful..

22 Aug 2017 19:32:17
Thanks for the reply Ed.

{Ed025's Note - no problem nick..

22 Aug 2017 21:22:21
Cheers Ed025. You're alright for a blue! ;)

{Ed025's Note - cheers kev..

23 Aug 2017 07:13:05
Macca said it then later 100% confirmed it to be true and there isn’t many that doubt him.

22 Aug 2017 17:27:19
Ed001, do you happen to know whether any players look at forums like these to gauge fans' opinion on themselves or the team?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - some do look at forums yes.}

22 Aug 2017 19:14:57
Hence my bring back Coutinho campaign.

22 Aug 2017 19:48:36
Why not bring back Sakho Campaign?

Cheers.

22 Aug 2017 20:58:14
Cos one makes a difference to the team while the other just repeats what the others do.

22 Aug 2017 21:00:31
Let sakho go. The guy was bambi on ice.

22 Aug 2017 15:02:05

22 Aug 2017 16:33:19
Hi eds.

Are liverpool still interested in celtic Dembele.

Thanks mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No.}

22 Aug 2017 15:40:48
Just a change of pace. Not transfer related. I keep on seeing managers arguing with the 4th official. What impact has he got on the desicions of the reffs as I have never seen it over turned. If not what's the point of arguing with him?

Believable8 Unbelievable1

22 Aug 2017 16:02:01
For the next 50-50 decision to be influenced and for excuses in interviews post match.

22 Aug 2017 16:11:01
The officials get together at half time and after the match to discuss everything so that is one gain. The other is that they're all miked up so the referee is getting some of what is being said and if there is an issue the 4th official and ref can be discussing it.

22 Aug 2017 17:25:04
Or if the manager is running his mouth too much to the 4th official, the ref who has heard everything already, can come over to the sideline and send the manager to the stands.

22 Aug 2017 17:28:13
Still a bit vague.

22 Aug 2017 17:35:22
They're just the unfortunate victims for the refs incompetence. Managers can't bollock the ref during the game so take it out on 4th official.

22 Aug 2017 15:16:18
Rafa used to drive me insane when he was our club's manager rotating and the likes and now Klopp seems to drive a few of you insane.
Yet, I must admit that Rafa did an incredible job for us in general, let's hope that the Klopp detractors will admit that he was good for us in a few years.
I still believe Klopp is the best manager we've had in a long time.
He's only had ONE full season in charge remember (plus 7 months of the previous season), when he hit his target and even if he hadn't, I'd still want him to stay.
So in almost 2 seasons he's taken us to 2 cup finals plus we're on the verge of the Champions league - that's pretty impressive to me and considering he hasn't spent fortunes.
Get behind him, the players, the new signings we get in the next week and we'll have a good season once we address and fix our frailties.

Believable19 Unbelievable4

22 Aug 2017 15:58:12
I really like Klopp but it doesn't make him bulletproof.

22 Aug 2017 16:41:17
Of course not, but what used to make us an even more attractive club was our patience with managers who may not reach targets each season such as Evans, Houllier, Souness etc.
I'm not saying we will or won't reach targets this season but just that I'd suggest we have patience.
We're not a moneybags club really so I personally can't understand why 'fans' lose patience so easily after a bad result or two.
I guess it's the Twitter/ Social Media way these days.

22 Aug 2017 16:47:18
Moneybags club?

We pay some of the highest wages though.

22 Aug 2017 16:52:46
Olrish I believe it's down to the world of social media. Years ago fans would be just as unhappy but would air it in a pub to whoever was in earshot. Now its easily accesible to have hundreds or thousands of people all over the world putting their 2 pence in (which as fans everyone is entitled too. That's why we love the sport) Last season our aim was to get top 4 and we successfully managed that. For me this window was a chance to push on but I believe this current squad makes our aim the exact same again of top 4. We are no closer to a title or CL challenge. But that is just my opinion. I sincerely hope I am proven wrong. I agree with your Op and thought it was a good comment. I was rushed in my initial reply. YNWA.

22 Aug 2017 17:37:34
He needs to win the PL title else not much different from Mr Wenger!

22 Aug 2017 17:48:47
Love your comment, Orlish. I love Klopp, worts and all. he makes mistakes and needs to adapt BUT who doesn't. Rafa rotated for sometimes no reason at all which is what irritated me the most as managers rotate all the time. Rafa would do it as if it was some kind of tactic, which was annoying.

As for today's fans, they are part of the social media brigade, who post nonsense all the time and have NO patience whatsoever with our club. You should see some of them and their comments on other fan sites, where they are literally rooting for us to fail so they can say, "I told you so" as if LFC failing will make them rich or something.

They also literally make stuff up based on some crazy conspiracy theory like "FSG are sucking us dry" or "They are not backing Klopp" or some other lunacy just to look like they know what is going on behind closed doors whereas they have no clue cos they live in an echo chamber where all they can hear is themselves. A complete disgrace.

22 Aug 2017 18:28:51
So people who criticise anything about the club are complete disgraces. Does that include your Milner comments Bingored or is that different.

22 Aug 2017 18:31:40
No worries Jayden, I think we have to be realistic though. Winning the PL would be very very difficult to achieve, far from impossible but certainly not easy.
We should be able to have a title push almost every season though so long as we have some luck injury wise etc.
We're still a very very high reputation club which should help us in various ways.
What are your sources for that statement Davey about wages?
Do we pay these due to free transfers such as with Milner and Matip for example do you think?
Please share if you can.
Thanks Bingo, wouldn't say they're fans at all to behave like that.
The social media era does my head in personally, I see the awful comments on Twitter from the brave boys sitting in their parents' basements. It's disgusting some of it.
I believe they were out in force over the last couple of days on Matt Le Tissier's Twitter account.
He took it well considering, but I certainly wouldn't consider these people fans, they're nothing short of angry, failures in life in many cases who take out their frustrations on the successful.
I'm sure the money is great and all being famous but nothing is worth the abuse some of them and their family receive.

22 Aug 2017 18:48:54
I don't expect us to win it but a title challenge would be the least we are aiming for. And when I mean challenge that's not finishing 2nd and 10-20 points off top. It's sustaining a proper challenge where we are a couple of points off top or keeping pace with them at the very least.

22 Aug 2017 18:48:57
Houllier fisted Evans.

22 Aug 2017 19:08:41
Jay, I criticized Milner cos he was crap during the game, based on my evaluation. You are free to disagree. Now regarding fans being disgraces cos they criticize the club, I said no such thing. You are free to criticize the club, no problem. But if you are going to do that by making things up in your head and rooting for us to fail so you can win a pathetic argument that no one else is having with you but yourself then sorry, that is not criticism. That is having an agenda and such fans are a disgrace.

22 Aug 2017 19:19:15
I believe that could be realistic for sure but probably not every season. I'd take it if we got it once every two to three seasons personally.
Lfcder, try to keep your personal fantasies to yourself I would suggest.

22 Aug 2017 20:08:41
Bingored fair enough mate. I've clearly misinterpreted your comment for something that it is not. Apologies.

22 Aug 2017 13:33:38
Dear Ed002,

Have you seen the leaks by the Hackers called Fancy Bears regarding doping? Are there claims of Tevez, Heinze and Kuyt doping the 2010 world cup true? Also is there a hidden world of doping in football?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You need to Google Bonar (I don't recall his forename) and Rob Brinded who made allegations that blood enhancement was rife in football 10 or 15 years ago - but later retracted his claims. It is common in other sports but pretty rare in soccer - but there have been accusations held up in Spain and some very serious accusations in Germany dating back 25 years or so invoving Schalke. There has been an ongoing issue (wrapped up in legal disputes) concerning Barcelona. There is no question about any English players or sides involved in what these people have said and much of it relates to times at which TUEs (making what they are doing an allowable exception on a temporary basis) were in place. Have TUEs been misused? I have no doubt they have. Is doping a major issue in football? Not now but back in the day it way. Does it go on still? To my knowledge there are private doctors who players who have been to without the knowledge of the clubs - these are doctors with miracle cures. Are these fat burning drugs an issue? Players are briefed every season and yet some still turn to them - it seems to be more of an issue in the UK than in mainland Europe.

So not a real big issue.}

22 Aug 2017 15:17:27
Wasn't their a trial in Spain where a load of blood bags were taken but never got analysed?
Always wanted to know what would have shown up in those bags.

{Ed002's Note - Blood we concluded.}

22 Aug 2017 15:33:50
Thank you for the detailed response Ed002! Glad to see it's not a big issue in football now. Would hate to see football go down the same route of my 2nd favourite sport (cycling) .

22 Aug 2017 15:39:40
I googled Bonar but I'm not saying what came up! 🙈.

22 Aug 2017 15:45:33
Fair play to lance Armstrong,
Winning the tour while on drugs.
I can't even find my bike when I'm off my face.

22 Aug 2017 15:55:07
What you are referring to is operacion puerto in Spain 2006 which was initially a raid on cycling causing the two race favourites basso and ullrich to be excluded from the tour that year
The dodgy doctor called Fuentes made allegations that top level Spanish footballers were clients of his and involved in blood doping but was basically threaten by lawyers of the top primera clubs to keep his mouth shut -
So nothing came of those allegations.

{Ed001's Note - he did not allege that they were, he had been openly working with Real Madrid, Barcelona, the Spanish national team, Juventus and numerous other major European clubs. The allegations he made were that if the truth became know Spain would be stripped of all its titles in football. While we have no way of knowing if that is true, it is telling that the Spanish judge ordered all samples destroyed to avoid any investigation into the football. Oh and certain other Spanish sporting legends, such as Rafa Nadal, were also implicated as they were his clients too. I believe the case is still ongoing, but, in a country as corrupt as Spain, it is unlikely the truth will come out.

To explain what I mean about the corruption in Spain, there is a group that was claiming to be trying to clean up Spanish politics by revealing evidence of corruption by top politicians. When investigated it turned out the group itself were as bad and heavily involved in corruption, the only people they were actually outing were those that refused to pay up when blackmailed by the group.}

22 Aug 2017 16:05:27
Ah go on tell us, was it your own came up? 😆.

22 Aug 2017 16:06:13
Think that was boner😂😂😂.

22 Aug 2017 16:36:20
I'm a massive cycling fan too and historically more often than not if a rider is alleged to 'work' with an individual like Dr Fuentes it most likely means they are on a doping programme. So it really does tally that the evidence was destroyed to protect certain individuals. Different can of worms but this is why I'm half suspicious of Mo Farah and his 'association' with Salazar.

22 Aug 2017 16:12:27
Probably worth saying those 3 were granted TUEs NOT accused of doping at all.

22 Aug 2017 19:10:41
Fancy Bears sound like the same Russian hackers (Fonzy and Cozy Bear) who hacked the Democratic National Committee systems during the U. S elections in 2016.

22 Aug 2017 12:35:24
Right. In the Kovacic rumours. If you put his name in the search there is a post from Ed002 stating we have no interest in him. That should put it to bed for everyone, Especially Harry.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

22 Aug 2017 16:08:53
Ed02 also has also said targets changes quickly. Kovacic is no new name to liverpool. We almost signed him 3 years ago. The club is looking at Central midfielders and if Keita deal doesn't happen then there is s chance we might look for alternatives.
Wijnaldum was never in our radar last summer nor was Salah or Mane. Things could change very quick especially we are entering into the final week of the window.

22 Aug 2017 19:11:28
Harry, so can we safely say that you are back on the Kova wagon again?

22 Aug 2017 14:50:37
I’m getting confident that Coutinho will be a Liverpool player on Sept 1st and, despite having mixed feelings about the whole situation, I'll admit I’m mostly pleased. I know there are a lot of fans who have already decided he’s a villain and will now need to readjust their opinions again but I think the calls for him to apologise are unnecessary. Coutinho has never claimed undying loyalty to Liverpool, it has never been a secret that he wants to play for Barcelona, the back injury was (certainly at the beginning) genuine and putting a transfer request is supposed to be the honourable way to leave a club, not something worthy of scorn. I don’t think he’s betrayed our trust in any way. Nor do I blame him for the timing of Barelona’s bid or the deal they offered us. I wish the rumours hadn’t been leaked but I suspect that was done with minimal to no involvement from Couts.

Whilst I don’t think he should apologise what would be appreciated however is a statement looking to build bridges, he doesn’t need to renounce his desire to play for Barcelona just reassure us that, as long as he wears a Liverpool shirt, he will work his socks off for the team. I don’t want my footballing heroes to be liars, I don’t want them to pretend they had Liverpool PJs when they were kids or that they model their game on Emelyn Hughes, I don’t need them to swear that playing for Liverpool is the pinnacle of their careers, all I need from them is to give their all during their time at the club and, as long as Couts does that, I will remain a huge fan of the little magician.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

22 Aug 2017 15:13:11
good post Putney.

22 Aug 2017 15:53:52
Offer him to Madrid for €40mil 😂.

22 Aug 2017 14:57:27
My thoughts precisely mate. People need to start being a little less dramatic.

22 Aug 2017 15:01:34
Well said.

22 Aug 2017 16:34:43
Us Football fans are fickle. He wanted to move to Barcelona and who can blame him. The move isn't happening and as long as he puts in the effort on the pitch and produces the kind of form he is capable of then fans will be singing his name soon enough.

{Ed025's Note - i believe thats true jayden..

22 Aug 2017 19:20:49
Spot on, Putney. People need to be able to separate the emotion of being a fan from the business reality of the game as emotions can blind you from making wise, practical and rational decisions.

Cou wants to go to Barca, no problem. However, his agent and Barcelona (IMO) people conned him into kicking up all types of dust so he could force the move himself and make himself a pariah to the club and the fans so we would just get rid and avoid the drama. But that backfired as Barcelona wanted him on the cheap and if LFC wasn't going to sell before, they definitely were not selling after that pathetic bid they put in on Fri.

Cou prolly then realized that he got played into turning on LFC, which I always knew cos we know Cou and he simply does not have that in him. All in all, he's still our player and tho he messed up, football is football and we need him as much as he needs us so we should put all this to bed and we should help him sort his head outand get him fit so he can punish Arsenal and City, like he always does.

Hi. I am Rahul from Mumbai, India and I am planning to watch the Arsenal game at Anfield on Sunday, been a dream. Any ideas on how to get my hands on a ticket and typically how much would it cost? Any websites from where I can book them?

I'm too excited.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

22 Aug 2017 14:50:04
Try stubhub and twitter. Be careful on twitter that someone is not trying to sell you fake tickets. Stubhub is meant to be fine, but be aware prices are going to be very expensive for this game. Expect it to be above £100.

22 Aug 2017 15:17:51
If your really stuck try liverpool tickets buy/ sell on Facebook. Tickets are expensive but they are genuine. He will meet you in the pub before the game and you just drop the cards back straight after. Usually about £85. Hope this helps.

22 Aug 2017 15:37:30
Thanks Taurus01.will check out the tickets in stubhub.

22 Aug 2017 17:18:01
Any Liverpool fan that sells their tickets to another Liverpool fan for any more than face value is a tout and shouldn't be allowed to buy tickets anymore. The fact they obviously can only be bothered to go to games they deem big enough to keep their numbers up is bad enough. But to rinse other fans is appalling.

{Ed025's Note - im with you 100% del..

22 Aug 2017 18:16:51
So true scousedel! I'm South African originally but have been in the U. K. Military for 10 years. My old man got me supporting this amazing club since I can remember. He followed through the glory days where he'd wait for the newspaper articles to find out on the weekend results. Anyhow his dream is to watch LFC and hold his arms up and sing you'll never walk alone so I'm flying him out over December for the Everton home game. I paid 200 quid a ticket but I suppose I made an olds mans dream come true!

22 Aug 2017 20:28:51
Totally agree fella. Unfortunately not all fans think the same. What makes things worse is that this guy seems to have around 20 tickets for each game.

22 Aug 2017 14:10:51
Seen reports of Dele Alli changing his agent in an attempt to get a big money move next summer, could be entirely BS.

However, if there is an element of truth, I would focus on speaking to Daniel Levy to work out a deal for Alli over the next 10 months.

He is an LFC fan and have the capacity to pay bigger wages.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

22 Aug 2017 14:33:58
Klopp would tell Our transfer team to get us Deli Ali and they would end up buying a deli sandwich from an alley shop.

22 Aug 2017 14:40:08
He is not a playmaker and unless you have a plan to bench Firmino for Ali this makes no sense to me! Yes he has score goals but then many scores goals! He plays behind a main striker and we have no such system in place at Liverpool. If your intention is to find some one to replace Coutinho then he has to be a PLAYMAKER! I repeat a PLAYMAKER!

22 Aug 2017 15:05:05
He's perfect for the attacking midfield role that Lallana plays and Coutinho may play if he stays. Lallana is not getting any younger though and Coutinho may yet go next summer if Barcelona come calling again - I'd pay up for Dele Alli every time, reminds me a bit of a young Gerard.

22 Aug 2017 15:15:09
We can't defend if you think Dele Alli wouldn't get in our team then you are delusional. And for the record capitals don't emphasize your point they just make you seem really aggressive!

22 Aug 2017 16:00:29
No Jayden you have it all wrong; our transfer team would tell Klopp they were going to try and sign Dele Alli, and Klopp would meet him for lunch in a deli shop off a back alley before we had permission to talk to him, thus ruining the deal.

22 Aug 2017 16:20:55
Jayden aren't you being a little ray of sunshine today. Do you have a better suggestion?

22 Aug 2017 16:14:01
Smeg

Is that what you made out from my post! Just like the club don't need a STRIKER we don't need Alli atm unless as someone suggested above you move out Lallans and bench Firmino for his life.

The club need a replacement for Coutinho and Ali is no playmaker by any stretch. Ask any Spurs fan! Lot of players would get into our team doesn't mean you buy all those!

It is like buying Gateth Bale coz you need a replacement for Luka Modric!

22 Aug 2017 16:14:13
Erm he says he wants to move to a big club, right now we're competing with Spurs to be also rans. I'd guess he is thinking more like Madrid and Barcelona than Cheshire.

22 Aug 2017 17:32:26
Toonred what are you on about. My comment was a joke. I'm guessing banter isn't allowed on the banter page in your eyes.

22 Aug 2017 18:06:44
We can't defend

Why do we need a replacement for Coutinho? He's not going anywhere.
Why would Dele Alli replace Firmino? Firmino plays primarily as a striker.
Why pidgeon hole players into set positions, Dele Alli could play anywhere.
What's wrong with adding more quality to the squad, our squad is woefully short on quality, if adding a quality player means a current starter moves to the bench so be it.
I'm not saying we are going to buy him but your logic is like saying we don't need Neuer because we have Mignolet!

22 Aug 2017 13:49:17
IF the coutinho saga is over be interesting to see how quick his back injury clears up i for one would like to see him play against arsenal then m. city its only to our benefit. let's just move on.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

22 Aug 2017 14:04:01
I'd like to see him involved against Hoffenheim. It's our biggest game in a long time. If he was coming back from a legit injury then no chance. His move isn't happening now let's get him in the squad.

22 Aug 2017 13:38:53
It seems like the whole footballing world and their dog, is laughing at us.

Surly we haven't been this incompetent in the transfer window.
The whole summer has been embarrassing. Everything about it. 😞.

Believable6 Unbelievable17

22 Aug 2017 13:44:07
Get a grip man. It could be worse we could be Barca.

22 Aug 2017 13:48:54
Or woman (especially if you've seen the Life of Brian) .

22 Aug 2017 13:58:35
Are you being for real?
Barca haven't got their transfer targets wow.
LFC have been caught tapping players up, They've failed to address MAJOR problems within the squad.
What team goes into a new season not fixing the problems we've had last season.
Tell me to get a grip all you want, but my head isn't in the clouds regarding LFC.
It's shambolic.
Maybe you need to get a grip and realise there's more to the football club than just transfer.
Our reputation is being tarnished.
Oh but that will be ok because we "kept" Couts 🙄.

22 Aug 2017 13:59:14
Actually, it could be worse, we could be Barcelona having sold Neymar and having spent nearly £40m on Paulinho. Then having all that money and no one wanting to sell. Glass half full then in that case. Mind you, won't hold my breath on Coutinho until 1/ 9/ 17 and he is still a Liverpool player.

22 Aug 2017 13:59:58
Winger - check
LB - check
Keep Coutinho? - let's see but hopefully
CB - not yet

If we keep Coutinho and sign a top CB I'm very happy with this window thanks. hardly a laughing stock.

Laughing stock would be if we sold Coutinho cheaply and failed for both VVD and Keita.

22 Aug 2017 14:35:17
Yeah could you imagine being Barcelona with Messi and Suarez. What a tradgedy that would be.

22 Aug 2017 14:41:47
the OP is a laughing stock! Get some perspective! SGRed summed it up perfectly. Still 10 days to go in the window and we know the club are still working on targets having addressed two positions already. Do you think LFC turning down arguably the second biggest transfer fee in history makes us a laughing stock?

22 Aug 2017 14:52:13
It's been awful up to now but there's still a week and a bit to go, and the people who have info state they believe more signings will be made.

Macca still thinks VVD and Keita will arrive so let's hope he's right.

If we don't do any more business, the club really should take a serious look at whether the people making these decisions are really appropriate for the job.

22 Aug 2017 14:52:30
Keeping a player that doesn't want to be here?
Engineering a move for well over a year, refusing to play for us again, turning in a transfer request the eve of the new EPL season, Spouting some nonesence about Klopp.
Yep, we've done the right thing and kept Couts, Everybody is quick to forget that his behavior hasn't been great.
Just because he hasn't taken a bite of anyone or taken us to court, His timing stinks and his apology is to blame Barce. "I'll leave if it's amicable between both clubs"
LFC don't want to sell, so he gets a family to take sly digs at klopp etc.
people just looking at the summer and dick taking our summer on transfer, I'm not, I'm looking at the whole summer, everything that's come out about the club.

Not just transfer 🙄
But ah well, ten days left of the transfer window, all our top targets are being told not for sale, we have no alternative back ups, klopp said at the end of the season he's got his targets and it's all but done. Yet here we are. 😂

What ever.

22 Aug 2017 15:55:03
Kopette, you're clearly very frustrated, and I agree with you on some points, I reckon if we'd gone about the VVD transfer the right way, he'd be a Liverpool player by now, and we'd have a slightly better reputation. But I don't see how you're not happy with the club for keeping Coutinho because he 'doesn't want to be here', yet you're taking RBL and Southampton on their word that Keita and VVD won't be sold even though they don't want to be there. If Coutinho is here after the deadline, I'm 100% confident hat he'll improve on last seasons performances and he could be the difference in staying in the top 4. Surely then you'd concede that we did the right thing in keeping him?

The timing of his transfer request was purely because we rejected a bid and released a statement then. I think you need to relax a little bit, there are going to be more testing days ahead.

22 Aug 2017 12:48:45
This Coutinho lad seems to really struggle with thinking for himself. Was pressured to sign the new contract. was pressured to submit the TR and make himself unavailable. was pressured by Bobby F to bleach his teeth. the list goes on!

Believable13 Unbelievable1

22 Aug 2017 12:55:38
It's all nonsense. He's a big boy, he makes his own decisions. I can't help but wonder how ugly things really got. Oh well. I'm usually all for power for the players, but recently I've started to see the consequences of such a standpoint.

22 Aug 2017 12:56:22
Maybe this episode will make him grow a spine.

22 Aug 2017 13:14:49
That bleach his teeth part killed me 😂😂😂😂.

22 Aug 2017 13:17:00
If we get him on the pitch in the middle off the park watch us get 30 percent more out of salah an mane honestly the signs in pre season were all there.

22 Aug 2017 14:00:08
I think we would get more out of Salah, Mane and Firmino with him on the pitch because of his passing.

22 Aug 2017 14:12:23
Salah's success depends on Coutinho picking his runs with sublime passing! I can't see Salah scoring for fun without Coutinho!

22 Aug 2017 15:09:28
Everyone will benefit from phil on pitch, also salah done well wid big target that was dzeko, I like solanke in there he has everythin possibly the english diego costa without baggage he really excites me the potential of solanke.

23 Aug 2017 00:10:54
R. I. P Rhys. Deepest sympathies to the Jones family and much love from (I hope) all Liverpool and Everton fans on such a tragic anniversary.

22 Aug 2017 12:08:44
Ohk quote of the day

". Just for being a tank. 92% passing rate, 5 dribbles, 3 tackles, 6 blocks and 4 loose ball retrieved. and his team lost.

Seemingly lost in the glamour of Erriksen, and behind the " He is one of our own " Kane, I can't think of a player I would have in my beloved Liverpool aside from Dembele. "

With love.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

22 Aug 2017 12:37:01
Ha! Yeah Dembele is beast and puts Can to shame, unfortunately.

22 Aug 2017 12:49:37
He is everything what Can should be one day if not today! He took Chelsea to shame on Sunday! I don't know what you call him! A B2B? Playmaker ( which clearly he is ) . If he was playing for any money rich club he would be called world class which he is actually!

22 Aug 2017 12:58:52
Harry, Dembele is just class. He like Sanchez, are the sort of players I would pay 100m just to get them to LFC, even in their 40's.

22 Aug 2017 13:11:45
Chelsea won!

22 Aug 2017 13:32:21
Quite the exaggeration Bingo.

22 Aug 2017 14:47:29
Dembele is a great player, but how many of you had herd of him when he was 23? I bet virtually none of you. You cannot compare a player in his prime to a 23 year old who is still learning!

22 Aug 2017 16:06:59
Dembele was a below average attacking midfielder for Fulham at Can's age. Nowhere near even the Belgium team.

Unlike 23 year old Can who is a German international. Grass is always greener 🙄.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? Dembele was quality back then mate.}

22 Aug 2017 19:31:24
Er, no. I knew Dembele since his exploits with the Belgian Olympic team 9he was at AZ Alkmaar at the time) that lost to Nigeria kin the semis in 2008, alongside players like Kompany, Vermaelen, Mirallas, Fellaini, Vertonghen and Van Dan Borre and the like and he was class then as well. Some of these players now form the foundation of the Belgian team that we all now have come to love. Speak for yourself, cos many of us have been watching football for a lot longer than yourself.

22 Aug 2017 12:08:40
The 'Power of Numbers' video that was just posted half an hour ago on the LFC YouTube channel shows Couts loads. Do you think it means he is staying? Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to show him so much in anything if there was the possibility of him taking flight?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

22 Aug 2017 12:31:31
The club have maintained he is not for sale.

Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to exclude a player from a video that they have said isn't for sale?

22 Aug 2017 12:46:20
But the club have also given Barcelona a figure they would accept. Believe what you will.

22 Aug 2017 13:01:01
Mushroom, No Ed on here has ever mentioned that we have quoted them a fee this summer and throughout this saga. Please, share where you got that info cos we have refused to meet with them nor take their calls so again, can you provide the source of your info, pls?

22 Aug 2017 13:16:16
BR we did quote PSG a fee though, luckily we scrapped that.

22 Aug 2017 13:48:00
We have quoted Barcelona a fee twice. Firstly it was 100m euros, which we scrapped. Now it stands at 150m euros.
I don't need to supply my source of info. What you could do is RTP.

22 Aug 2017 14:09:51
If we quoted PSG a fee, anyone know if why they didn't bid? Lower priority? It's not that they're short of a few quid.

22 Aug 2017 19:32:34
I know we quoted PSG a fee, but not Barca.

22 Aug 2017 20:16:31
Any idea why they failed to bid?

23 Aug 2017 06:40:37
Iirc PSG didn’t think he was worth the 100mil we quoted them and they had/ have loads of other targets to somehow splash 400mil on lol.

23 Aug 2017 13:06:07
Smells of b. s. to me! If Neymar is worth 200m, Philly is definitely worth half of that at least so it's either b. s. or a priority thing.

22 Aug 2017 11:23:30
Looks like Coutinho has started back tracking on earlier actions and comments, his entourage in a Brazilian paper (Estadão) are saying that it was all essentially Barcelona telling him what to do, they say he was manipulated by Barcelona to threaten to never play for the club again to help force the move he wanted (Same as Dembele), but that he never really had the will to never play for LFC again. They say that in principle he will stay and play for LFC but most likely after international break.

What does everyone think, i personally think we should just move on from it, we need Phils creativity if we are to achieve anything this season, this sort of thing happens in football.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

22 Aug 2017 12:19:35
I think we should give him a bit of stick next time he plays just to reiterate how pxssed we are then move on and give him a big kiss when he scores a top corner screamer against the mancs and toffs.

22 Aug 2017 12:20:13
It was also be his agent looking for a HUUUUGGEEEE payday. I think it was ed2 (correct me if i’m wrong) who said Coutinho doesn't look like the type of player who would do what he has done and that he had been pressured even into signing his new contract (because again the Agent gets a nice pay check from it)
Coutinho will be back in the side quite quickly and hopefully will play his heart out.
He needs to sack that agent of his though!

The family thing, not sure if that would be the agent again telling them what to say to help force a move.

Either way Coutinho is the one who looks like the bad guy and a lot of fans will be pretty pissed off at him for a while, but many more will support him still as soon as he steps onto the pitch. Could be a while for his form to return depending on how badly a certain section of fans chant/ boo at him.

22 Aug 2017 12:20:59
Just move on.

22 Aug 2017 12:26:09
Interesting that.
Reflects the stuff coming out of Dortmund.

22 Aug 2017 12:34:58
dirty tricks from Barcelona thinking they can do what they like if what is said is true could we put a complaint in to fifa along with Dortmund I know we can't hold are heads up to high with our antics but that seems just as bad to me don't think we have been telling players of other clubs what to do to try and force moves.

22 Aug 2017 12:41:21
Kia Joorabchian looks like a grubby see-you-en-tee.

22 Aug 2017 12:46:26
He's not an angel as clearly wanted the move, but a lot of the rubbish in the press is I'm sure just noise and rubbish or coming from parties other than Coutinho himself. It comes down to what he actually said behind closed doors, and if Klopp is happy for him to stay then so am I.

So long as he knuckles down and respects the shirt then move on.

22 Aug 2017 12:50:13
I think he should never wear a Liverpool shirt again.

22 Aug 2017 13:12:05
Redtel, you don't cut your nose to spite your face as that makes no sense. We need him and we all know it and so does Klopp. Suarez did way worse and we took him back so let's just put some perspective on here.

As for Cou, he has been w/ us for 4 years and we know the boy very well. Anyone paying attention should have known that he was not the one putting out all the fake news coming out of his camp that the "family member" (cough agent cough) about him not liking Klopp and the other trash.

I knew it was bullocks the minute I heard the "Cou is upset with Klopp cos Klopp substitutes him too much". What do you expect from an agent named Kia Joorabchian? Like Aidy Ward, a true piece of work.

Now, did he put in the TR and orchestrate the whole thing from jump? Yes and he should own that part and take responsibility for that. However, we all know who he is and he does not have the spine to do all the crap we are seeing. Now, his team is back tracking cos Cou is going nowhere. Not surprised.

22 Aug 2017 13:27:32
You shouldn't cut your nose off to spite your face. And is booing him going to help? No. Not at all. Neither is burning shirts and daubing graffiti. But by the same token, he shouldn't be able to walk straight into the first team picture.

22 Aug 2017 13:29:06
The TR was sent by email, who’s to say the agent doesn't have access/ control over the account?

22 Aug 2017 13:40:46
Dennis he's our best player, why shouldn't he be able to walk into the, "first team picture"? What should we do with him? Play him in the U23s?

22 Aug 2017 13:51:43
Because he should be sold Jeme, that's why.

22 Aug 2017 13:47:40
Theres so many different versions of different stories going around regarding the non-transfer, who knows what really happened. Just treat him like any other player and cheer when his name is read out and celebrate when he scores. he's playing in a red shirt this season so let's remind him how close he came to walking out on the best supporters in the world. Personally, i can't wait to watch him in a Liverpool shirt again regardless of what has, or hasn't, occured this summer.

22 Aug 2017 14:02:59
One question for all the couts haters. do you love Stevie g.
He put in a transfer request because he wanted to move to Chelsea. after we had just won the CL. we moved on, he then went on to be what he is. a LFC legend.

I'm disappointed PC but we move on, and support him. because him and lallana, behind our front 3 is a potential championship winning combo.

22 Aug 2017 16:18:14
So yet again quotes that aren't direct from the player and are from people who don't even want their own name attached result in the lad getting kicked by some people. He has actually said nothing other than being keen to move to a club that LFC have know for over a year he wanted to play for.

22 Aug 2017 10:35:16
Hi All, long time reader, first time poster;

Just wondering if the community can come together and help me with something personal;

My girlfriend said she is leaving me because I'm obsessed with Fantasy Football . In my defence, I've got Alonso, Kolasinac, Azpilicueta and Ake.

Have a good day - YNWA!

22 Aug 2017 11:52:05

22 Aug 2017 11:55:31
I reckon she's been tapped up.

22 Aug 2017 12:02:45
Make her a separate account, she will quickly realize the obsession 😂.

22 Aug 2017 12:16:13
It came from nowhere, I was quickly eating my BAINES on toast in the evening listening to some 'Guns and MOSES' as I knew I knew we had to go to her parents’ house for a family party. I shouted AYEW ready yet FER FUCHS-AKE? Hurry up and BORUSSIA teeth! To which she marched DOWNING the stairs looking like something from CESC in the city and I thought to myself wow, BOOM XHAKAlaka she is looking like a WILLIAN dollars!

We got in the old VOKES Wagan and followed the JELAVIC road, knowing we had a LONG drive ahead, so I put it in KROOS control for the next hour. We eventually arrived at her parents’ house and her sister opens the door looking like HUTTON dressed as LAHM, she looked as if she PIQUEd something up from the SALAHvation Army that afternoon. It had been a while since I had seen her, she was recently let out on BALE and thought, wow, who ate all DEPAYs, she certainly needed to lay off the tea and BUSQUETS and XAVI dodgers and especially leave out the fast food, no more egg fired REUS or BENTEKE fried chicken – this girl really needed a DELPH and safety assessment but didn’t have a KALOU of the damage she had DUNN to herself!

Next, we had a chat with her two younger brothers who reminded me of PIQUE and DE BRUYNE cartoon, they are just those kind of people that always think they are ARDA than you, but really, they just can’t handle the HUTH. No WIEMANN no cry came on followed by purple REINA so I scooted over to ZIDANESfloor and got my VARDY on with my moves like AGGER shouting “boom shake shake DE ROON and show me the MANE”

It got MESSI and i was now a little DUNK and had too many RODALLEGA bombs and jack DANIELS, so rather than make EMILE of it, it was BEST to leave. I got outside and shouted “dude where's my KAHN” but it was best I didn’t drive!

The girlfriend was still looking absolutely FABREGAS and IBE got a feeling, that tonight my little tinchy SNEIJDER was going to see some action…. Time for some Netflix and CHILWELL. We didn’t beat around DEBUCHY, we arrived home and put on some LALLANA del ray, and just as my GYLFI pleasures were to be answered like something from 50 shades of O’SHEA, she touched MATIP and then…… I heard the Match of the day theme tune, I ran into the lounge and jumped on the CROUCH!

She shouted “I’m Leaving”

I responded “On Loan or Transfer? ” – Which didn’t help!

I can't see where I went wrong but hey, What’s love GOTZE do?

22 Aug 2017 12:19:11
worst comes to worst, you've always got your wildcard mate.

22 Aug 2017 12:22:14

22 Aug 2017 13:07:30
I feel your pain MK Scouser! However, maybe its time you stand up, look her in the face, show her how many points you achieved and say "You Petr Cech Yourself" - As, you are no Slumdog Mignolet you are the Big Lewandowski!

22 Aug 2017 13:13:53
Darren that post deserves 199Million thumbs up and publishing xD

let’s hope she doesn't FUCHS off to old Trafford though. After MOTD was finished you should have ran after her. Show her you are HAMANN and MARTIAL her back home. Specially don’t let her near De Gea as she might become FRIENDs with him and talk CHAMACK about you!

Alternatively she could go towards Chelsea and there will be a lot MORATA trying to COURTIOS her and you might LUIZ her for good!
But it KANTE be all doom and gloom because most of them are very, very ORIGI.

When you get her back make sure you have a KANE handy and give her a FIRMino slap on the HAND and assert your dominance as MANE man.

22 Aug 2017 13:18:20

It's a smokescreen for us signing Simao.

22 Aug 2017 10:46:50
A Spanish newspaper, I can't remember how it's spelt but they believe that we are interested and that he is keen due to the amount of Real Madrid players ahead of him in the central midfield position.

However I wouldn't hold much hope because if I remember rightly Zidane was quoted as saying "no one else is leaving" after the Morata sale.

22 Aug 2017 10:51:03
Or because we need a Central Midfielder anyways!

22 Aug 2017 10:56:55
Dude, Simao?! Most people won't get that reference. We've been here for years, you and I.

22 Aug 2017 11:14:25
A verbal agreement has been agreed according to reports. can't see it myself don't think madrid want to sell but would be a great signing if true. Watched him a fair bit and seems just what we need.

22 Aug 2017 11:33:53
Simao, I thought we are after honda.

22 Aug 2017 11:56:50
Simao love old school rumours lad's.

22 Aug 2017 11:58:56
BS then in other words.

22 Aug 2017 12:04:34
Damn isn’t Simao from the 06/ 07 season? 😂.

22 Aug 2017 09:55:54
Obviously Sakho did some silly things and got himself barred from the 1st team.

Many will argue that he is currently our best CB.

This makes the situation worse as we could be seen to be cutting our nose off to spite our face.

Now we move on to Coutinho. Pretty much threw all the toys out of the pram, said he wouldn't play for LFC again, his relationship with Klopp had deteriorated over the past 6 months and has basically made Klopp and LFC look bad.

Now it looks like he isn't going to be moving and the noises have started to make it appear that all is being back-tracked blah blah blah.

The end result we know is that he will be integrated back into the team.

Surely he has done more harm than Sakho, yet Sakho isn't getting a sniff of a chance.

Did something more serious go on that we aren't being made aware of with Sakho or is Klopp just being stubborn?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

22 Aug 2017 10:04:03
Maybe it's because Coutinho can be trusted to eventually get back on with it and apply himself, whereas Sakho can't be trusted.

22 Aug 2017 10:08:31
I really do not believe that Sakho was/ is our best defender.

He did well at Palace but playing in a completely different, very deep lying defence.

I've always thought he was alright but he is not going to be our saviour and turn our defence around.

22 Aug 2017 10:13:25
It will be interesting to see how He gets on with Klopp form here on. The Normal Klopp doesn't compromise on such antics. But then you can't complain if a player wants out to a perticular club.

22 Aug 2017 10:34:40
Yes Sakho is a good player. But you lot who think he's the saviour were also moaning about the defence when he was a regular! I can see why klopp has eyes fixed on Van Dijk he offers the pace to play highline that often exposes our cbks and also very strong in air and attacks the ball.

22 Aug 2017 10:45:48
If we win the tie on Wed night then we will have got through the qualifying round with no help and only disruption from Coutinho. If the unthinkable happens and we get knocked out then his road to forgiveness amongst the fans could become longer.

22 Aug 2017 13:19:23
OP, Sahko is a right bell who takes responsibility for nothing and apologizes for nothing, blaming everyone else for his issues that he himself has caused and this has been the case since his PSG days. Suarez did way worse than both of those combined and yet he still stayed and nearly wo n us the PL so there is already precedent here. Vou will be dealt with in house, no question BUT that is where it needs to end so to not cut of our nose to spite our face. We need him and even Klopp knows it.

If you think Sahko is our best CB then you have not been watching him closely. He is by no means our best CB. Our CB's may not be great BUT to say that Sahko is the best is way off mark. I do understand that it is easy to think a player is better than those playing cos well, he's not playing. You seem to forget that we have had Sahko for three seasons playing here and our defence was still crap, conceding 150 goals in that span but hey, what do I know?

22 Aug 2017 16:20:40
As "many" have now pointed out, he was part of the garbage performances and is not going to change things. Palace were set up to suit and he was trying to get himself a move. There is plenty of evidence that he isn't as good as some keep trying to make out.

22 Aug 2017 09:42:27
Well, apparently reports this morning that couti's agent (s) are now downplaying the links and saying he had to try a hardline stance to get the deal done, but having realised it's not happening, are making all the noises for him to get reintegrated into the squad and playing down his involvement in the transfer request etc.

Any truth in this eds? I didn't think it would happen anyway.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

22 Aug 2017 09:47:17
Good to see his back injury has cleared up.

22 Aug 2017 09:48:56
He seems like the kind of guy who could get led around easily by such people, ed002 already suggested that he could have been pressured into signing the contract in January.

22 Aug 2017 09:50:25
Well He need to do something to win over the fans. Blame others or apologize in public ( which I don't think will ever happen ) . I don't think this would change Klopp's mind!

22 Aug 2017 10:02:34
Theyve obviously realised its not happening and that its world cup year.

22 Aug 2017 10:13:33
That Joorabchian chap is one real snake. Outrageous statement after what has been said and done. This only degrades PC even more in my eyes.

Apologize and hang your head in shame, then work twice as hard to regain some level of trust.

22 Aug 2017 10:27:25
I think he needs a few games in the u23's to sort him out. He shouldn't get a fast track back to the first team if he isn't going to Barca.

22 Aug 2017 11:13:58
Just saying, he has not done or said anything publicly to justify any vilification from anyone. Not that I distrust 002's info, but footballers don't always possess the necessarys to think for themselves entirely. Especially when an agent or equivalent is pushing and pushing etc. If he comes back and knuckles down then I have no qualms with him.

22 Aug 2017 12:24:34
explain how that helps anyone Dennis?

an adult conversation around conduct will suffice just fine.

leaving him out of the team when we have city as our first game after window closes will only hurt us as a team.

22 Aug 2017 13:25:34
Spot on, 87red. What were we expecting from an agent like Kia Joorabchian, a real piece of work? We have known Cou for 4 years and we know how much of a nice guy he has been. As soon as I knew who his agent was, I knew it was his agent egging him on cos Cou just does not have it in him to do and say all that crap. He has his part of the blame for sure and should/ will be dealt with in house by Klopp and that should be that. and for those saying "he should not play here again" or "he should play some games in the reserves" or this or that crap should just calm down and breathe easy. That will benefit no one but our opponents. We need him and we all know it as the CP game suggests so he will be dealt with and will be ready for City in a couple of weeks.

22 Aug 2017 09:06:06
Is it safe to say that tomorrow's game will have a big effect on who we do or don't sign in the last week of the window 😣.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No.}

22 Aug 2017 10:12:07
I can't see how it won't Ed? Even if it doesn't effect our finances it would surely effect the attitude of players wanting to come to us?

{Ed001's Note - no it doesn't work like that. We would have to be in it a few years running before players will come on that basis. Or qualify direct.}

22 Aug 2017 09:45:24
I actually have to politely disagree with the Ed002 on this one. I think it'll have a huge effect on what business we do. I don't think our targets will change until it's a definite NO from their respective clubs. Although there's actually no way to know for sure as no one owns a time machine. So I'm leaving it the lap of the gods. What will be will be and I am becoming more pragmatic about the game than ever. Too much money and too much at stake.

{Ed002's Note - So you think that if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League they will drop van Dijk and Keita as targets. Ok. Who do you think they will turn to?}

22 Aug 2017 07:30:07
Ed002, you confirmed the other night (several times) that LFC did approach Nice about Jean Michael Seri.

What was Nice's response? I know he's now likely to go to Barcelona but I'm just interested.

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - That he is available.}

22 Aug 2017 09:09:56
So we make an approach they say he is available so we take it to the next level and do nothing as per usual. Not to worry though the transfer window hasn't closed yet and we're bound to make loads of top class signings in the next 8 days.

22 Aug 2017 09:30:55
Jayden, we did plenty with it, we 'accidentally' forwarded on the fax from Nice saying he was available to Barcelona hoping to convince them to go for him instead, it worked! Crisis averted ;)

22 Aug 2017 09:38:40
Liverpool are told that Seri is unavailable, yet have not followed through with an offer.

People, I think this is a big clue that Macca is right about Liverpool going in again for Keita.

22 Aug 2017 09:49:42
Woops, I meant to say available, not unavailable!

22 Aug 2017 09:55:21
I think Seri may have been a replacement for Coutinho, i originally thought he was a Keita alternative but think eds confirmed its if coutinho was to leave.

22 Aug 2017 09:59:32
This could be a ploy to nudge Liverpool to allow Coutinho to leave, but there's rumours Barcelona are looking to Naby Keita now. Could be mischief making by Barcelona trying to get you to sell Coutinho or is it genuine interest?

22 Aug 2017 10:36:25
More to the point what is that avatar all about Sydney?

22 Aug 2017 09:33:49
@Jayden

Ed002's Note - If Keita arrives and Coutinho stays Liverpool has no use for him.

22 Aug 2017 09:48:22
Why approach Nice in the first place then.

{Ed002's Note - To find out if the player is available. Barcelona has done the same.}

22 Aug 2017 16:46:18
Sorry eds the question was rhetorical and in reply to the he was a replacement for Coutinho comment. Why would we enquire about a replacement for a player we apparently have no intention of selling.

{Ed002's Note - You don't think the club should make any provisions then? The entire transfer process seems to be something many of you can't grasp at all. You secret messages in everything, you think there is something special about Liverpool players etc..}

22 Aug 2017 17:29:23
Sorry eds What do you mean by you secret messages in everything?
I think you've taken my comment the wrong way eds I wasn't being critical or moaning that we had approached the club. My comment was just in reply to Tia 19's comment.

22 Aug 2017 07:48:38
R we interested in anyone haha.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

22 Aug 2017 09:50:45
Will Hughes, the player everyone has been calling a 'great young talent' for the last 6 years!

22 Aug 2017 06:30:30
Ed025, do you think everyone was too quick to jump on us after the first game?

We drew against a mid table team away from home with a few players missing, whilst Man City with virtually their strongest XI drew at home to a mid table team 😉 yet City are favourites for the title!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - its so early that its hard to tell MK, but im sure city will look back and think that draw they scraped last night was a massive point gained, i think we all know liverpool wont be winning anything this season but i still expect them to be in with a squeak for 4th, i just hope you dont implode again as it would be nice to have 2 teams from the city fighting for honours mate..

22 Aug 2017 07:02:09
City for all their attacking power has issues at the back and they will concede goals! If you could defend as good as what Everton did yesterday then you have a chance to collect points against Manchester city!

22 Aug 2017 07:11:40
Koeman is far too negative a manager for my liking. Despite having a man advantage (never a sending off), they chose to sit deep and defend the 1 goal lead. City bosses that game and the goal was no surprise.

The 2 Everton performances in Merseyside derby last year were the most dire negative Everton performances I've ever seen from a derby.

Intrigued in your opinion ed25.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to agree 87, city were there for the taking last night and if lookman was introduced when they went down to 10 i believe we would have won that game, we have a better squad now and i dont see us making the same mistakes we did against the reds this season, we need to compete better against run of the mill teams like liverpool if we aspire to be up there mate..

22 Aug 2017 08:44:58
As Liverpool experience.

It's hard when these mid table teams play away from home and stick ten men behind the the ball.

Then get sucker punched by a lucky goal, scored by a player the Everton fans have scorned for years 😃😃😃😃.

22 Aug 2017 09:53:34
Agreed.

The city of Liverpool dominated football.

22 Aug 2017 07:31:21
Na Ed025, your lot will be more focused on assaulting us than actually beating us in a football match, as usual.

{Ed025's Note - i must admit lowe we were a disgrace against you last season, but hopefully this season we will actually play football against you as i think we will have a better chance of beating you mate..

22 Aug 2017 07:34:05
Ed025 you can't help yourself can you? Run of the mill teams, cheeky bugger :)

{Ed025's Note - im like a contestant on catchphrase burkey...i say what i see mate..

22 Aug 2017 07:56:00
Damn you Ed025! Can you actually be wound up? Haha.

{Ed025's Note - i have had stick over being an evertonian all my life MK, its all water off a ducks back now mate.. :)

22 Aug 2017 08:20:01
Agreed 87red and Ed. Koeman is too negative of a manager and this is not new. At Saints, he would play up to 6 defensive players (back 4 and two DM's in front) and tho that may be a solution at times, it prevents you from trying to win games. If you play the "Prevent Defence" (NFL term for playing not to lose) then, you will hardly wis to your advantage. If that was LFC yesterday playing a man up, Klopp would have kept attacking them and we would have collected all 3 points PROVIDED our defence don't screw up which is 50/ 50 at best.

{Ed025's Note - i would have gone for it as well bingo, its a pity they ripped up my application when i applied for the everton managers job really mate..

22 Aug 2017 08:25:30
Ha touché ed25 😉.

{Ed025's Note - i cant let you get away with that one 87 mate..

22 Aug 2017 08:36:47
Ed25 bit early to be on the ale!

{Ed025's Note - its never too early ace..

22 Aug 2017 09:02:35
Didn't Everton play with a back 5 and 2 holding midfielders? I thought Ed25 said they were on the up? That smacks of mid table defeatism to me and if it weren't for a shocking referee they would've been annihilated. Even with 7 at the back City could've scored 10. I must say though Calvert-Lewin had a good game but they will massively miss Lukaku this season.

{Ed025's Note - we are a top striker short ings but that is being resolved as we speak mate, we are not scared to speculate in the market unlike some tight arse clubs i could mention..

22 Aug 2017 09:11:02
Ed25. I try not to rise to you but I can't help it. are you ed25 because it's been that long since you won anything? Seriously I expect Liverpool to pick up some silverware this season, be it league cup ( or whatever crazy name it's called) . 3rd and a trophy and I'm a happy bunny. im not deluded, I don't expect the title, I don't expect the champions league I just expect continued progress. I'm a wool now mate but have tons of bitter mates who expect big things from you lot. i just don't see it happening for you. with any luck anyways.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think there is much between us ben, europe will be hinder both of us i think and unless you get a couple in sharpish you will struggle on all fronts mate...why dont you ask mr moshiri for a loan? hes a sucker for a charity case like liverpool.. :)

22 Aug 2017 09:18:36
U have too give it too everton, there owner has come in, supported koeman an made good football decisions on an off the pitch geared towards winning football matches and progressing as a club, maybe we could learn a thing or 2 from them on how too sign players wid out nearly getting a transfer ban an makin ourselves look very unprofessional.

{Ed025's Note - well said hailstones, you are welcome at the home of the peoples club anytime mate..

22 Aug 2017 09:51:07
So Lfc is a "run of the mill" team now is it? Very interesting, Ed025. And that cupboard full of trophies is what exactly? Of course, you're provoking and baiting as usual. We're not biting. And someone is definitely cruising for a bruising. 😉😆😆😆.

{Ed025's Note - its not my fault ra, i just threw out a line and suddenly my float sunk!, two merseyside teams doing well is good for football mate...so pull your fingers out and try and keep up please..

22 Aug 2017 09:56:45
Ed025. I watched the game last night and I have to say you looked decent and the squad depth you now have is better than ours imo. You will finish above is imo also.

{Ed025's Note - big call that MR, i dont think there is a lot between us mate...well maybe stanley park.. :)

22 Aug 2017 10:29:45
You say that Koeman is a bit negative, but at least he isn't Gollum, eh Ed025? Best transfer to Man United that Everton have ever given them ;)

{Ed025's Note - i could not wait to get rid of him MrD, all that "taking a knife to a gun fight" baloney proved what a defeatist little wimp he really was mate..

22 Aug 2017 19:41:02
Moyes actually succeeded in getting beaten by LFC three times in the same season as in twice in league play and in the FA Cup final after being 1-0 up. That was in the 11/ 12 season, a season where we were just dire across the board and we still did them three times. He is by far the greatest bottler in Everton's history. Now, that is a badge of honor any true Everton fan should be proud to wear.

{Ed025's Note - most of us were glad to see the back of him bingo, im sure all the reds felt the same about roy hodgson mate..
