Ed002 what's the latest on theses players we've been linked with? Calhanoglu, tiovenan, pastore, guidetti, jorginiho, volland, rondon and Ings? Heard these names a lot over the past weeks.

Also woth Juventus dropping out of the CL some early would a move for Marchisio be in the cards? Thanks eds have a great Christmas all the best

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I amm not so sure any of these players are involved with Liverpool.}

If we were raiding juventus it should be for pogba who we i'm afraid we could not get at the moment . how old whiskey nose let that lad go is shocking to say the least. then again he was slagging of henderson not so long ago and look at our lad now

Hi Eds,
Any news regarding the Ashley Cole situation as it seems he may be leaving Chelsea however surely money will be a problem for most teams as high currently earns a high wage. Is there any chance he will go to another English side or will he go abroad? Also can you see Aspas leaving in January?
Thanks

Any teams interested in Giuseppe Rossi?, He's a fantastic player and is currently top goalscorer in Serie A

Hi all would appreciate you honest feed back as we have felt MOTD is anti Arsenal all season, it does seem strange they should run their poll last night at a point where we lose top spot and after our worst run of the season ( 1 point from 6) but before we get a chance to redeem our self's against Chelsea tomorrow when they have a program on.

Any one else think we have a point or are we just paranoid?
Would really appreciate your views please

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Know what you mean buddy, think yous have done well but have a real test coming up (like us mind) but MOTD think Man City or Chelsea will win the title so will disregard anybody else. The highlights they show of us are bloody rubbish at times and then they barely comment after ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

On this I would say a little paranoid mate. I think it was just done because the team at the top changed and they wanted people's thoughts on whether lfc could go all the way. I disagree with the result of it though, I imagine a lot of lfc voters were watchig motd :P

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty I think you'll finish 2nd gunner62, behind City and with us in 3rd.
I'd like to say we can win the title and I think we have a little more chance than you, coming in the form of a certain Uruguayan, but we will do well to get 3 points from our next two games.
Chelsea lack a top class striker and defensive solidarity at the moment which is encouraging me for next week
I live 2 miles from Emirates so have to banter with gooners pretty often
Ozil is your only world class player, and perhaps Ramsey, but he's seeming inconsistent
If you do buy a top striker in January then your midfield can possibly win you the league but I think right now you're, like us, a couple of players short of winning the league

Agree0 Disagree0

There are some of us Liverpool fans who think MOTD are against us too.
I don't. It all centres on the fact that we went through a phase of being the last match shown on MOTD.

Who cares anyway what Jugears and his cronies think, they don't influence results so it's irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you lads really appreciate your feed back as its so hard sometimes to have an unbiased look at your self.
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas AND BOXING Day :-) as said many times this season if we have to finish 2nd or 3rd I hope you boys finish top

Agree0 Disagree0

Let them all think we are not title contenders- by now I know the players(the people that really matter) have been told by BR and know themselves that they've got a chance- if they want it badly enough there is no reason they can't do it.
In fact I would say that any of the top 8 teams are still in with a chance- lot of games still involving the top teams

Agree0 Disagree0

MOTD should talk less and show more of the games! jobs for the boys droning on with cliche riddled comments! better still, record it and F/F thru the waffle! their bias shows every week.

I cannot, for obvious reasons, give you any direct advice about who to follow on Twitter, but I can only say "if your right leg itches as your left leg twitches, don't let anyone kiss you further south than Hennley On Thames".

Great to see the team putting in some great performances and getting some good results. Players like henderson, allen and sterling are getting better with each passing game *pun intended*. Our beloved LFC are now reaping the rewards of Brendans style of play, tactical knowledge, hard work and undoubtedly an exceptional talent in Suarez . With city and chelski round the corner and away from home its vital that we remain composed and carry forward the confidence we've shown all season. Come on u Reds!.
Quick question for the Eds, with the transfer window days away are there any other wide players we are considering apart from Salah?
Compliments of the season to all the Reds out there and the Eds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am sure the club will look at a number but for some time Salah has been top of the list.}

i think we need to sign . ross barkley for 25 mil. this kid is next superstar

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everton won't sell
Everton won't do business with us
We can't afford him
We don't have anything to offer that Everton doesn't, in terms of competition.
He wouldn't leave Everton to join us.
He will most likely sign for Chelsea or one of the Mancs.

Other than that, I completely agree with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton WILL sell.
Everton will do business with us for the right money.
We can afford him.
We have much more to offer than Everton.
He wouldn't leave Everton to join us.
He will end up at the Mancs. not sure which 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton may sell.everton may do business with us.we may be able to afford him.he may end up with chelsea or even the mancs.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll be at UTD. And they still won't win the league

Hes a top player, hope he stays at everton but i'm wondering how did we miss out on him when he was a kid . reminds me of a young gerrard .

i have to say some of you lfc fans are nuts. you get way too happy to be top but in the next three games. you will gain a maximum 3 points. and chelsea and everton will jump right infront of you

dont you see how close the table is. it gives you guys false hope. 1 draw and your back down to 5th if everyone wins.so stop getting happy so fast when its clear by mid january or the end of janaury the real big guns will be back up there and the pretenders will slowly start to dip

no offence. but I even rate everton above you guys. just wait and see how they will jump over you in the next three weeks. remember my post!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't worry my friend. We sure will remember this post

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you think we care if you think Everton are above us?

Why do you think you are so important that we will remember your post?

Get over yourself sunshine no body cares what some bitter little boy thinks, we are top of the league and playing great football and what ever happens will happen, now run along and grow up.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Get way too happy".?
I haven't read a single post which sees true fans getting carried away.
We are genuine contenders for top four and anything else is a bonus.
Spurs, Swansea, Southampton and Man.Utd are struggling. We're not!
We have the best player in the World at the moment but I don't think any true fan would put his house on us winning the League.
Personally, I think we can beat City and Chelsea away .and then lose to Hull at home!
Six points from nine wouldn't be too shabby but you are obviously a wind-up merchant and I've given you too much of my time.

Completely agree Anfield Pete, spot on mate

Plus, we are 12 points from the last 12, so even if we do lose both games that'll still be 12 out of 18. Hardly terrible!
Liverpool fans would be pretty delighted with say 3rd? Or even 4th, champions league is the target.
Besides, there's so many 6 pointers that it's impossible for everyone except Liverpool to win their next 2 games at least.
There's a big match on Tomo that I'm pretty sure both teams can't win. If memory serves, the fixture list is pretty tough for most.

Agree0 Disagree0

''In your next three games you will win a maximum of 3 points.'' Mystic Meg has a running for a her column inches with your prophesies, Red Lobster. :)

Com'on, let's be fair, Liverpool fans deserve to be in the title chase, the league doesn't lie. Liverpool have played very well with such a small squad of young players and many of them are English/British, Johnson, Flanagan, Sterling, Allen, Henderson and Kelly all played their part on Saturday in helping put Liverpool back on the top of the League and keeping the pressure on our rivals.

Liverpool fans rightly deserve to be enjoying themselves. No doubt it's ridiculously close at the moment and the odds are against Liverpool, but that won't stop the fans believing and dreaming of the team excelling expectations and delivering, whether it's a top 4 finish or a title challenge. Would you expect anything less from any club's fans in Liverpool's position!?

Liverpool were the underdogs to win the Champions League in 2005 and many people from other English clubs counted us out as automatic losers, well, gladly Liverpool don't always read the sticky or follow throw away simple subjective predictions. Sometimes Liverpool even defy the gods.

What a great 2013!
Thanks to the owners, manager and team.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas.
Bring on the next 2 games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We've not got much too lose going to City after many other teams have been torn apart by them. United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal in the top half of the League are on the Man City battered you list, so far, it's not going to kill the season or anything, it's 1 of 21 games left that we've got to play.

So, it's all on City, in their last 7 games, they've conceded 2 against Fulham who have managed to score 17 goals all season, 1 against Leicester in the cup, 3 against Arsenal, 2 against Bayern in the Champions League, 1 against Southampton, 2 against West Brom and that's all just in the month of December, no doubt they've scored a lot, but they are not impenetrable and they haven't played against the sensationally superb Suarez this season, . yet! :)

Ed001, what have you made of.Hendersons growth in the laat few games? The boy is thriving without Gerrard and is.looking the complete midfielder

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it is good to see him flourishing with the extra responsibility to the team, though it is partly down to not having so much ground to cover defensively making up for Gerrard's lack of legs. I am just glad to see a young lad showing why we bought him. I just hope people remember this and give new signings more time in future.}

"I just hope people remember this and give new signings more time in future"

Jokin' aren't you, this is Liverpool rumours after all.

All they want is world class players mixed with a bit of blood and sweat - they don't want much.

Agree0 Disagree0

Henderson has been our second best player in the last few games. Rodgers challenged the players to step up their game in the absence of Gerrard an Sturridge and that is exactly what they have done.

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the same with Lucas.

Also Allen is looking to be improving.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I right in saying Henderson has played every game this season? He's played a hell of a lot anyway,, and BR must have seen this type of form in training all season round. He's a young kid, and doesn't play with that arrogance, but with the manager constantly picking him, and the fans now believing in him, confidence will hopefully push him on and I think he has the potential to become our new Stevie in 2/3 years. Expecting big things from Jordan, over the moon for him ATM

Really looking forward to the city match on boxing day,
(yes, sod christmas), I can see it going only one way.
Firstly, a 0-0 or any draw at city would be a great result but for Liverpool. The problem is, we can't defend, if we go there looking for a 0-0 draw we will
get pasted 5-0 with our defense. We've got to go there and go for it, it is the only way to play the game.
One the other side, city can't defend either, any school
girl side will score against city, so they can't sit back
and try to defend aginst us either. Neither side has any choice but to go all out on the attack. I can really see this one ending something like 6-6 and one of those matches we will be telling our grandchildren bed time stories about, along with the champions league final in Istanbul. For me the key to winning the game is taking out Yaya Toure, we got to pass him out of the midfield. And when he gets the ball we got to not let him get his head up. Hendo has to get back and hassle him and if he move forward Allen needs to get forward and force him to play the ball. We can't let him dictact the pace of the game in midfield. We need to tire him out making him chase the ball and he'll feel really uncomfortable after 80 mins. I'm going to go for 6-7 for Liverpool but only because I'm biased.

Happy Christmas to all those who can get their minds on it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I feel the same maybe not 66 but could see a3 3 or the best result 3 4 to the reds but I really do think there will be plenty of goals

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was so easy to contain city, arsenal and spurs won't have conceeded six goals each

Agree0 Disagree0

I think both teams will be scared of venturing forward because of each teams firepower. I think it'll be 1-0 either way or a 1-1 draw. However, if there is a really early goal(5 minutes or so) then I think it'll be a goal fest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ummm 5th best defence in the league, and only 2 goals more conceded than the best defence in the league.

And city have only conceded 3 more than the best in the league.

We have 2 new CB's at beginning of season and had a lot of injuries there. Think we did't same CB pairing for like the first 5 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top 2 attacking teams in the country. Your right,, defenders/goal keepers will win this game. Suarez will rip that Demachalis apart.
I'm worried about Dzeko,, as we can't defend crosses.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2013 13:49:25
I've been saying for 3 seasons the CB we want, and he'd partner Sakho superbly, is Dejan Lovren.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Skrtel has been excellent all season!

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ apart from when he is trying to wrestle with opposing players in the box yeah?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we've got some crackin' centre-backs to rely on already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only very few cbs in the league don't do it one100.he has been great all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyway, it was an 8.5 million pound contract with still three years odd left to run.

Southampton would want double that at least and there are more important areas to cover so I suspect we wouldn't have the money.

Good shout though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't need a lesson on what CB's do. They do not do it to the extent he did in one game. He is superb when the ball is on floor, but he is appalling at set pieces. Its not a debate its fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

One100
Skrtel is hardly excellent on the floor.
His strength is winning challenges both in the air and on the ground.
When in possession of the ball I believe Skrtel is the weakest of our centre backs. He lacks movement off the ball to create angles for team mates, often leaving Mignolet in difficult situations.
Yes he has improved in this area but still needs to work harder especially as we play from the back a lot.
And also as pointed out by ED01 on a few occasions, he drops far to deep defensively.
Saying that he has had a good season so far.
I'm loving seeing Sakho there and can imagine him being there for many more years as our 'rock' at the back
Seasons greetings!

Agree0 Disagree0

OK I'm not keen on Skyrtyl but he is doing something right in that Agger can't get in the team.

We have plenty of talent at CB. And don't forget we also have 3 brilliant prospect for that position for the future. Ilori/Kelly/Wisdom

Agree0 Disagree0

ARROW He has been good on the floor except constantly passing back to goal, but Mignoliet make a f-ing meal out of it to be honest, plenty of time all he has to do it clear it but he doesn't he fricks about with it. Very rare you have 2 ball playing centre halfs anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2013 13:34:52
Imagine how good Philippe Coutinho will be when he is the same age as Yaya Touré in 9 years time.

Imagine how good Raheem Sterling will be when he is the same age as David Silva in 8 years time.

Imagine how good Jordan Henderson will be when he is the same age as Samir Nasri in 3 years time.

Imagine how good Joe Allen will be when he is the same age as Fernandinho in 5 years time.

Imagine how good Mamadou Sakho will be when he is the same age as Vincent Kompany in 4 years time.

You get the point!

What I am trying to explain is that even though our team is significantly younger than the title favourites, with less experience, we are still strong enough to compete with them. If our team is good enough now to compete at the top, then how good are we going to be in years to come? Rodgers knows what he is doing!

Red Rum

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doesn't work that way

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame it doesn't work like that

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when did city players stop ageing?

Agree0 Disagree0

What I mean is our players still have many years ahead of them to improve. Obviously, our expectations are high for the players we have, but we must remember their age. They will only get better as time goes on!

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

I love how petty some people are, picking out the most minor flaws in order to subject someone to embarrassment.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's very unlikely they will be as good as Toure, Silva and Kompany. These are three of the best players in the world, so it's just not realistic.

But guess what? They don't have to be. It's a team game. And the manager makes a huge difference. Just ask United.

That's why we are essentially level on points with City, despite their far greater individual talent.

With 3 fixtures coming within a week of each other over boxing day to new years day who would in the squad would you like to see get an opportunity to impress?

For me I think Aspas and Alberto deserve a good chance and I wouldn't mind Ibe and Rossiter getting some game time against Hull.

Would also not be surprised to see Agger and Toure back for Chelsea considering the form of their strikers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think, given the importance of the fixtures, we should be reluctant to through too many changes in.

Kelly looked off the pace when he came on so I'd expect Johnson and Flanno to start.

I do see Agger coming into use again, especially with Skrtel continuing to be a liability.

In terms of attack, I'd say maybe Alberto and Aspas but Aspas certainly won't be getting the main striker role that everyone harps on about him needing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aspas most likely would be sold january, no need to rush alberto his time will come

Agree0 Disagree0

The teams will be the same I would think. We've had 1 game a week all season. I think they'll be fine

Agree0 Disagree0

People have to stop calling for Rossiter to be in the first team.

I watched him a lot and he's an exciting prospect but he would get murdered in the premier league if thrown in now and slated by some fans.

He needs to develop physically to add speed and power to his game. Defensively he also needs a lot of work. He is not the most mobile which I why I would have slight question mark whether he will make the grade at all. But he's young and there's time to develop.

Obvoiusly he I have omitted the great talents he has such as his passing and leadership and temperment and work rate.

He is not ready but he's only a kid.

Agree0 Disagree0

These next 3 games are going to be a big test.
I have to wear the lucky pants 3 times in 6 days! Washing machine will be struggling

Agree0 Disagree0

Rossiter is no where near physically ready for the premier league and I think it would be to early for even the carling cup. ibe is physically ready and I would play him off the bench before moses

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully not to many skidders in them keks though Ken ;0)

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder if they are still lucky if I wear them inside out?.

Anyway, forget giving the kids a run out against Hull, I want to win that game comfortably. I want a 6 goal mauling of Hull after that game at the KC.
We need to put Mrs Fathead Doubtfire back in her box!

Agree0 Disagree0

LoL Ken, real lucky pants only remain lucky, if they are not washed, ever!

The two next games are so defining to our season. If we won atleast one of them we are title contenders in my opinion. If we draw both then we have a chance still of the title. If we lose and draw I think we could possibly be battling out for top 4 a loss loss would be even worse!

If someone offered 2 draws from the next two games would you take it? I think just out of the nerves I would!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

One win one loss i'm going for, and I would be more than happy with that :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but two draws mean there not gaining much over you I want 7 point from our next 3 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit of positivity required here boys. We are playing two contenders for the title. Both games are 6 pointers. We can beat both of them, let's stay positive and forget all this talk about draws!

Agree0 Disagree0

We can def beat chelsea, and get something from the City game, were top of the League, let's stay there .

Agree0 Disagree0

2 games of 21, we'll need to win more of them, than anyone else to stand a chance, the next 2 are just that, the next 2 of 21.

The pressure is on City and Chelsea to perform at home and trying to keep Suarez chained up.

Agree0 Disagree0

We could lose both and still win the title.

We could win both and still struggle to make top four.

It all depends on how well our main rivals do, and whether we can maintain our form for another 17 games after these two games.

A lot can happen.

Good day people:) Hope everyone is having a good day! I was very happy with the first half yesterday and the only thing I want to complain about is that poor Aspas doesn't even get 5 minutes.
He looked good in pre-season and some minutes here and there won't hurt him, it might help him settle and we gain a player. Just like Flanagan & Sterling & Allen who suddenly proved to be very important parts of the squad.

Anyways am here to tell you about the new player who will soon be a huge name in world football, probably after the worldcup.

If any Liverpool scouts are reading this, you seriously need to check out Yoichiro Kakitani! Incredible player!
Happy Christmas Reds and I hope we prove the haters wrong by putting in 2 performances that make us proud over the next week:)

How good was Sakho yesterday? Every tackle he makes the striker bounces off him onto the floor! Top draw.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is a BEAST

Agree0 Disagree0

Best thing is he is still getting used to the league so you'd imagine he'll only improve

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2013 11:24:33
On the set piece we conceded, sakho was trying to bring the line out but noone was listening, everyone becomes so nervous and gets so deep. And why was sakho left with 2 people to mark? Someone seriously needs to look at this. Its fine when we already scored 3 and we go on to win but imagine that was 0-0 we wouldn't of won that game. We looked so good but we concede the silliest of goals. We look solid when the ball is on the ground but just cannot deal with corners, long balls or free kicks. Its worrying.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah I saw sakho lead the line, but skryrl kept dropping off. The open man I assume was Kelly's considering everyone else had their mark. It was a bit frustrating to concede a goal when all areas of our game yesterday were excellent. Has to tighten up. Skrtel's set piece defending is going to hurt us eventually, I'm surprised a pen hasn't been given in the last 3 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sakho is a leader, will prove a bargain in years to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Skrtel always drops too deep. Every game. If he could get that out of his game he would be s much better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr T, he drops deep because he lacks pace. He's compensating if he didn't he would struggle. Its not as black and white as you're making it pal

Hope BR doesn't push Henderson out wide again when Gerrard is fit again. The lad is a class act atm, so much energy and has the class to go with it. Tbh the team is playing that well its a hard task to buy the right players to come in atm.

Long may it continue. YNWA

I have coutinho on the back of my shirt as I love the way he plays the game.i just think he needs to work on his shooting/goalscoring if he is to reach the brazilian world cup squad or even his potential in the game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd love for Coutinho to be included in the Brazilian team for the Brazilian hosted World Cup, I think he's done really well and offers a lot for us and he's still so young.

Although, Coutinho did hit the post from a tight angle yesterday and was a bit unlucky not to score. He hit the bar against Tottenham and to be fair, comically tripped over himself when through on goal, which he was visibly disappointed with as he only had the goalkeeper to beat in the same match (Tottenham), so he's getting stuck in and having a good go, but denied by the post and bar two matches on the trot and unlucky with his footing for a great chance, otherwise he might have had three goals in the last two games and we'd be signing high praises for the lad for his recent goal touch. Just my opinion/s

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, the lad is quality. He should have a word with his hairdresser as well!

Coutinho is an excellent player, but he seems to be suffering from the infamous "Second Season" Syndrome. He looked very sharp before his injury earlier in the season, but since his recovery, he has struggled a bit, especially in terms of his shooting.

Having said all that, he has still been influential and that is the sign of an very good player. I am sure he will only get better as the season goes on, but he definitely needs to work on his shooting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Considering a player hits their peak at 26 years old, Coutinho is amazing for a 21 year old. I'm sure over the next 5 years he will become one of the best in the world for his position.

Well said red-rum.

People forget how young he is with still very little Premier League experience.

That lad gets booted everywhere during the game too.

Personally, I can see him developing into a top, top player with the right guidance.

Hey guys, not posted in a while just thought I would get involved in a topic which has interested me this season.

I have to say, at the start of this season I was a little concerned about how other teams had adapted to play against him, often man marking him out on the left and giving him no time on the ball whatsoever. With his diminutive figure this seemed to keep him out of the game for most parts and led to a dependency on a solid central midfield and the form of Sturridge to grind out the regular 1-0's.

However in recent weeks i've noticed his exciting spark return in terms of his magnificent, creative through balls and his confidence to run at defenders at the right times whereas he seemed sometimes a little stranded on the left earlier in the season.

So in my opinion I believe BR seems to have re-adapted his style to dropping back centrally a little more regularly, allowing Flanno, Suarez, Hendo & Sterling to go on ahead, in turn temporarily taking Hendo's position where he can look for through balls easier rather than taking on players, which makes him harder to track. This seems to have worked better in recent fixtures, simply because of the greatly increased time on the ball he is having compared to earlier this season.

I do agree with the posts in terms of his need to work on his finishing however, often seeming to drag his shots past the near post but like Red-Rum said, he is only 21 and that is most certainly a trait that he will develop over time.

Cheers guys.

Struggling? He is playing superb. God help the rest if he is struggling

Another great 1st half display yesterday! Shame about the 2nd half, maybe they were asked to go out and conserve energy? Let's face it the game was won and we've got 2 massive games in the next week.

Big shout out to Hendo, he's really shining at the moment. What a ball to Suarez for the 2nd goal. If that was Coutinho people would be going mad!

Henderson is flying, in the last 2 games, he's has scored 1 goal and created 3 assists and received a man of the match display against Tottenham. So that's 5 assists for the Prem season so far, which is Henderson's personal best tally for us and it's just half way through the season, Rooney leads the way on 8, I think.

Not bad at all and has showed that we have a dynamic midfield option already within the squad that can help ease the void left by Gerrard being out injured.

Henderson is benefiting from the responsibility left in the wake of Gerrard's absence and is forming a tenacious partnership with Suarez and that's good news for us.

Whether it's a long pass through the middle to Suarez who's on the counter to pass it over to Sterling to tap it in or, the cross for Suarez's first goal against Cardiff, or the back heel for Suarez to curl his shot in for his second against Cardiff, or the back heel through the defenders legs against Tottenham for Suarez to set Flanagan up for his goal, it's clicking all over the pitch.

Henderson and Suarez's inter play is fast becoming a thing of beauty and Coutinho is getting in on the act as well. Great positives and I think Henderson is the most impressive English midfielder at the moment on current form, thinking about that World Cup squad, he's looking set to play himself into a real chance of going to Brazil?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, this has been happening pretty much the whole season, but with 2 very very big games coming up, I could understand the drop in intensity in our play.

Thought we were awesome first half yesterday but let Cardiff back into the game second half and against a better side we may have been punished. Still, a wins a win.

I have seen a lot of praise for Coutinho but IMO he does very little for the majority of the game but then will produce a defence splitting pass out of nothing. Just wish he could get more involved and not be a passenger for long periods.

In the long term I think we need a centre half, midfielder, winger and striker.

Sakho is a beast and should be first choice cb. Agger and Skrtel are great at times but suspect at other times. Toure is not the long term solution but we have at least a bit of depth should any injuries/suspensions come up.

Would love another midfielder to partner Lucas as although Allen is a good squad player, he isn't first team quality. Henderson is a different player whilst Gerrard should be used sparingly to ensure he can play in the important games.

Hopefully the Salah rumours are true as he looks the part, and is young to boot.

Another striker would be great and hopefully not put all our hopes in Suarez and Sturridge for goals whilst providing the required depth for a title charge.

If FSG push the boat out in January, this could be our best chance in the last 20 years to achieve something great. City, Chelsea and Arsenal all have there issues and look suspect at times whilst Utd will struggle to get into the top 6.

Come on FSG and BR, 2 or 3 of the 'right' signings and this could propel Liverpool back to the glory days.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah because we can't get top of the league with these players! Oh wait.

Agree0 Disagree0

Being top after 17 games and still to play City and Chelsea is one thing, but being top after 38 games is quite another.
TjRed - Does it mean that if we are top we shouldn't be looking to strengthen? If anything, now is the perfect time to strengthen.

Another center half in two years from with in the club like kelly wisdom samba and Ilori are all there so don't worry we'll ok plus Allen is a good player watch him when his confidence grows look how much confidence has helped henderson and even Ramsey skrtel and flanno confisence is everything for players

Suarez and henderson are giving the old torres and gerrard double act a run for their money at the moment.bring on city and chelsea I say

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No way is Henderson the quality gerrard was back then, Henderson is doing really well and that's great for him, but gerrard was the best attacking midfielder in the world back then, here's to hoping Henderson will get there!

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine Suarez of now combined with Gerrard of then.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should be grateful that we have Gerrard AND Henderson and that they can play in the same team. Henderson's form means that Gerrard can drop deeper with Lucas protecting the back 4.
People seem to forget just how good Stevie is, named in the FIFA European XI for 3 years in a row!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its obvious that Gerrard is moulding Henderson & Suarez. "LOOK GUYS, I'm going to show you how me & Torres lead this club to 86 points"
