Personally, I think we will get 2-3 top class players such as Mata, Marko Marin & Aguero. All young and very talented.

Then we will get a few "stocking fillers" such as Enrique, Adam, Nzogbia and a defender.

Leaving will be Poulson, N'frog, The Greek, Jovanovich, Aurellio and possibly Agger & Cole. Maybe even Maxi although I think he would be a good squad player.

I have a genuine belief that Liverpool will make a statement of intent this transfer window. Two big name wingers will be signed, my view two of three out of Mata, Hazard and Young. This is in addition to the free signing of Marveaux. We will also be in addition of a left back, either Enrique or Juan Vargas. Potentially with a playmaker such as Diego. The only other signings we will make will be if we sell players, such a a new centre back. With the sale of the mentioned names which will generate a fair amount of money, especially if Aquilani goes. This means that we will only be spending in the region of £50m on improvements to a side which certainly looks like it has potential to do some damage next season.

According to some of the transfer banter lately we're signing injured players left, right & centre :
Dann - crocked
Marveaux - crocked
Tim Cahill - crocked
Carroll already signed - crocked
What do you think Commolli's doing, touring Europe's A & E depts ?

I am an LFC fan and coach for EFC Kickz and just been told that Tim Cahill is about to sign for LFC, I can't post my name coz i will be sacked. He will be the Shock Transfer Kenny has been talking about, Kenny has offered 10mil for him and Moyes has accepted coz Cahill wants to play for us. You heard it here first..

Thats just what we need, an aging, injury prone player with no pace. And I thought DC was recruiting young talent to add pace and energy to the team!!

Ive heard that we are binning adidas to have our kits made by warrior sports, i havent seen any of their kits before but im worried that our kit is going to look very american, logos all over it like some american football or hockey jersey. I don't mind that fact that americans wear these kinds of jerseys its their thing has anyone seen any of their kits and can give me a little peace of mind? {Ed001's Note - they have to have permission to have adverts, at the moment rules will not allow loads of logos all over them.}

The signing of brad freidel will be announced tomorrow midday. Not the most glamarous signings but will be a good back up and influence in the dressing room.

23 May 2011 23:25:33
I don't think that Kenny would have to do any convincing for Michael Owen to come to Anfield. He has been washed up for the past 3-4 seasons and is only at united as a cheap back up striker. He would jump at the chance but is nowhere near good enough to improve our team (anymore).

This is aimed at the posters suggesting he would be of benefit to us. There is no chance of him ever playing for the club again.

For any of you that can not understand spanish, Sergio Aguero yes the Athletico Forward has announced on his official site that he wishes to leave. He desires to move on and he only signed a new contract so that athletico would get big bucks for him. He has no clauses that will restrict him leaving as this was clear in contract talks. Now its all down to who will he sign for.

Liverpool- pros- spanish team mates especially a spanish striking partner- stability of the club with a king of a manager and finance. Cons- no champions league

Chelsea- pros-torres factor and champo. Cons- is the club stable. The list goes on...ManCity- bags of money Barca- best club around. A lot of talk about Real but they are athleticos rivals and aguero is loyal

hi ed
I just want to make all lfc supporters aware of what kk has recently stated (this weekend) that any transfers to the club will be of the highest order & will have to be far better than what we already have. i am stating this as i get sick of reading peoples drivvel that we are gonna do deals for mediocre players who wont improve us as a squad let alone the first team. i honstly believe kenny will get us some class signings this summer. but we still get linked to some bargain basement players because certain fans still think we have no money & still think G & H still own us. lets have some fresh transfer rumours but plz up ur expectations we are LFC after all.

Hi eds, Just want to make a quick point that transfers for next season seem to be moving very quickly....looks like Contrao, and Sergio Aguero are off to Madrid, Hazard, Mvilla and others have commited to new deals, my point is that we need to move very quickly if we want to sign our 1st choice type of players, or we will lose out and have to settle for 2nd choice, which is what weve been doing for years.....early days but im already thinking we wont get the top players required to take us into champs lge positions next year...please hurry LFC and show your intent

rumour liverpool going to sign charlie adam 8.9-9.5 mil
michael owen is possibly coming back to anfield on free transfer (dont be fooled of him playing for man u that he wont be back becasue there is a 75-50% chance he will.)
jose enrique for 9-15 mil
poulson out for 7-15 mil
pachaco will be sating as he will be key back up next season
ngog 50-50 chance going out on loan.

===========================================

7-15 mil for Poulsen! , What are you snortingg lad?
I think Ngog is a definate out he has had his time to prove himself but he simply isn't good enough! And i don't thin King Kenny would welcolme JUDAS back either would us the fans.

Expect a busy transfer window and i can't seem to think who we could possibly get seem to be linked with every one at the moment. I would expect at least 2-3 big signings then get rid of deadwood we all know who they are and beef the squad up with some good players maybe exploit the recent relegated teams get the likes of maybe Charlie Adam? Charles Nzogbia? But don't be surprised who we get as FSG have quitely well said they do the business and splash the cash whatever is necesarry to make us succesful. A Exciting window ahead can't wait for next season!

As for as the current squad we need only 3 to 4 players with some young talents.

GK - Reina, Peter Gulacsi, Martin Hansen
There is enough players for the above position, so there wont be any new signings.

RB - Johnson, Robinson, kelly (who can be used in CB also)
Give more playing time for the likes of kelly & robinson.

CB - Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Wilson
Carragher is getting older, Agger is injury prone, skrtel is not regular performer, wilson need more playing time.
so we have to sign (May be cahill or jones) or Sakho.
Sell - sortis, may be agger (sorry to say).

LB - very weak atleast we have to sign 1 player (may be enrique, vargas or baines)
Give more playing time for Falagan.
May be we can give one more chance to insua, since he was still young.
Sell - Aurelio, Deagan, Konchesky.

CDM - Already we have enough players for this position - Gerrard, Lucas (Best for this position in our side), Spearing (one for the future)
Sell - Poulsen
CM - Ra l Meireles, Jonjo Shelvey (We have enough for the squad ma be we can retain aquilani. Also sign some young talents.

Wingers
Atleast we have to sign two wingers who can produce quality crosses. (likes of hazzard, mata, young, turan etc), We can use kuyt as second as striker or winger if needed.

Sell - Maxi

CF/ Striker - already we have two quality strikers (Saurez & Carroll), but def. need one or two quality striker (1 proven & a youngster)
Sell Ngog

Theres a guy on here who keeps going on about people being "wools" let me tell you a few things sunshine
I was born in wigan which is a rugby town if you are brought up with wigan rugby you hate wigan latics its like the derby, so i can't support my local team!
All my mothers side of the family is from liverpool i was the first generation to be born out of liverpool so as far as football is concerned all i have ever known is liverpool red, i loved liverpool before i even knew wigan had a football team so please don't you dare try to make anyone feel that they are any less of a supporter than you or any other local lad, liverpool is part fo me and so many other around the world.
How can you question anyones support for their team?
You really want the liverpool crowd sepperated? scousers on one side and "wools" on the other?
or i suppose you think its a great idea that only scousers can go to anfield?
Unless you havent noticed those "wools" pay for tickets and help liverpool buy new players, they buy shirts to help fund our youth system, and there is no way on gods green earth that people like you should make them feel like they can't go to cheer on the team that they love, its basically a form of racism!
YOU DONT HAVE TO BE FROM LIVERPOOL TO BE SCOUSE!

Ed sorry about the rant i don't want to make your job any harder or start a debate but this is "anti-wool" thing is something we don't need don't you agree?

Not a transfer rumour but just heard a rumour about naming rights on Anfield?? could this be an american way of getting more quick bucks? They've already binned Adidas off for a lucrative kit provider.

Anyone else heard this?

d just a couple of questions for you :
1. Do you think we will have a marquee signing this summer ?
2. Do you think we can attract big players even though we are not in Europe because of our reputation (e.g. club on the up , great history etc.) ?
3. Last but not least where do you guess we will finish next season with the most realistic players being linked with the club (i.e Young , Adam , Marveaux etc) ?
I know its probably a lot but it would answer a lot of peoples questions ! Thanks Ed !

{Ed006's Note - 1. I believe there will be at least one big signing, I couldn't tell you who though. 2. Yes, Liverpool are still a top club and will be able to attract top player. 3. Without the distraction of the Europa League I would like to say top 3 with a push for the title.}
___________________________________
Really Ed ?! I didn't think you would be that optimistic ! Hopefully we do push on for a title push but do you think we will improve that much in a year ?! I'd like your views on this Ed (BTW are you a L'pool fan ?) !

Aguero is leaving he confirmed it himself on twitter and on his website Aguero: "I expressed to my decision to leave Atletico. I asked him to receive, without conditions, the offers that come from other clubs"

is the sissoko we are interested in momo that used to play for us or a relative if it is momo has his injured eye cleared up well enough to play at this level as i was under the idea thats why we sold him ??

23 May 2011 22:36:44
let's be sensible in our signings. Firstly young is overated. We should be trying to get wijnaldum, van wolfswinkel, wickham, adam, dann, cissohko for lb. An then big star name mata. All young hungry footballers. Simon

alrite lads, just a bit of info to share.
iv been told today that scott dann and jose enrique are very likely to sign in june. also all the talk about aguero coming to liverpool is wide of the mark, he is 95% sure to be joining real madrid.

I think Carroll will progress nicely next season. I know he's not been fit enough to impress recently but a quality winger or two would show a much greater return than the endless long hoofs from centre half. The header against City was awesome and I can't remember having a player since big Sami with that much skill in the air.

Mata for me on the left if he'd come and I'd keep Kuyt on the right against the big teams. Ashley Young if his wages arent crazy would be useful too to cover both wings and SS, with Marveux coming in for Maxi.

Those three added to Scott Dann and a solid left back and we're not far off.

Perhaps a young striker if we can find a good option or centre midfielder' likely to be Adam.

We're looking at around 60mil before a Cm and St but perhaps we can recuperate 20 mil or so from our dreadful but plentiful outgoing players and push onto top 4 next year with a good start.

Ed, with all this talk of wingers coming in do you expect kuyt to get much of a game next season? thanks alot for your time, much appreciated !

23 May 2011 22:33:47
Ed, just wondering but where are these aguero to real rumours coming from, (not that i believe them myself)
I thought that he came out and actively said he would never go there?
Cheers

Ed is there any truth in the benzema rumours? would be a excellent signing, ,

To the guy who wrote this:
23 May 2011 18:56:58
Word out is that Aguero has signed with Real Madrid.. There goes that dream.. :-(

May I suggest you go to Marca.com - he hasn't signed for Real at all. They suggest he spent the day with his father and agent away from the press and media in the offices of the Vicente C lderon for discussions with the powers that be, and could be on his way to City!?!?

eds gone quiet. any truth in kun goin to real, or benzema to lfc?

23 May 2011 21:50:26
Ed is it true that cashly young is at OT

23 May 2011 22:16:18
Ed would I be right in saying Andy Carroll was planned to be bought in the summer when we have some proper wingers ? Cheers. {Ed007's Note - Sorry, I can't help you with that one. Anyone???}
---------------------------------------------------

Carroll was originally a summer target but with Torres suddenly deciding to leave, Dalglish and Comolli decided to go for him in January instead, Dmaien Comolli said this in an interview. The fact that the original plan was to have Torres, Suarez and Carroll all in the same team suggests that we will try and get another top quality striker in the summer. Obviously the plan is to get good wide players that can get the best out of Carroll and to give the team some much needed width and pace. So what you said was true.

Hi Eds, would you consider placing this on the Rumour or Banter pages of all Premiership Clubs?

Bosman, the Patron Saint of Professional Footballers:
Sometimes a cause transcends all football tribes - such a cause is the plight of Jean Marc Bosman.
To allow the irony of his circumstances to continue without us raising the roof would be passionless on our part as football supporters and selfishness by our cherished Players.
Bosman s legal efforts paved the way for the wealth players now enjoy. Surely it s time for them to recognise the man who secured their future, the man who made their wealth possible, the man who lies in ruins, bankrupted and forgotten.
Somewhere on this site there is a financial genius who can - or knows someone who can - structure a Charity, Trust or whatever to bail out Marc Bosman - the Patron Saint of Professional Footballers.
There are certainly enough supporters of Premiership teams to rattle the conscience of their star Players and persuade each one of them to part with £1,000.
If 20 players from 20 premiership clubs gave £1,000 Jean Marc Bosman s problems would evaporate in a heartbeat.
As these players hit the beaches, we should remind them of their own Patron Saint and ask them to help the legend of Jean Marc Bosman.
Sometimes a cause transcends all football tribes - this is one. Please help support Jean Marc Bosman - The patron Saint of Professional Footballers.
Come forward financial genius and wave your wand.

Ahahahahaha.... 11.5 for skrtel? haha, Lucas has just signed a new contract so thats another waste of a post. Joe Cole, lucky to get ofout 3.5 for him. Ngog, more like 3 mill. Ahaha kyrgiakos... we got him on a free!, we'd be lucky to get about 2.5 for him. Koncheskey is about 2 mill. AND finally, Dani P, our great young spanish prospect, would, if we sold him, go for about 6.5mill!
Get real mate, and watch these bums play.

23 May 2011 21:39:29
I don't think many signings are needed this summer. Carragher's got 1 year in him, and Glen Johnson can play on the left (temporarily). A long term replacement for Gerrard is needed, and 2 wingers, as well as a premier league proven striker to cover for Carroll and Suarez.I think the players will be:

Charlie Adam
Stewart Downing
Maravaeux (cover for wings)
Adam Johnson
Daniel Sturridge

In a few years time, we should have a left and center back, maybe even this summer. But they are not "emergency" positions.

What do you think Eds?

I posted the other day regarding Ashley Young choosing between Liverpooll and United. Now hearing he will be choosing United with wages rougly 40k higher than Liverpool BEFORE any added on fee's. Good riddance, any player who doesnt want to join can do one.

The King

23 May 2011 21:37:29
I posted several days ago some comments attributed to Comolli and Dalglish which appears to be salivating the thirst of the fans of a mega list of quality players.

Despite my constant theories that I do not believe this to the case and I am of the opinion that the club is playing a slightly dangerous game in raising hopes of the fans who now think that the club will buy 'Llorente, Mata, Benzema, Adam, Young, Hazard, Lukaku etc. etc.' One poster actually stated he thought i thought £100M would be paid over the summer.

I was waiting for some smart fan with deep inside knowledge to quote me John W Henry but alas i have waited and waited.

So for you all this summer, please remember this little ditty from our owners mouth back in January when appearing live on LFCTV.

"We've always spent money we've generated rather than deficit spending and that will be the case in Liverpool. It's up to us to generate enough revenue to be successful over the long term. We will not deviate from that.".

That is as crystal clear as it gets. So let's start managing our expectations before the summer starts, otherwise the posts will be as boring and monotonous as these bloody wish lists which should be banned.

It is anticipated we will make a profit of around £20M the rest will be made up of player sales. Therefore whilst there is no transfer budget as such. There is a limit.

But enjoy the summer and remember, the likes of Cole, Konchesky and Poulsen will not be joining this summer, next summer or the summer after.

I expect to see KK sign :
- Phil Jones ( Blackburn )
- Leighton Bains ( Everton )
- Blaise Matuidi ( Saint Etienne )
- Ashley Young ( Aston Villa )
- Eden Hazard ( lille )
- Slyvain Marveaux ( Rennes )
- Leandro Damiao ( Internacional )

Sorry about not quoting figures just to hard to understand in modern day football.

No 19 is on its way !

sick of all these woolybacks having a go at andy carroll. hes played only few games. go and support your local teams you wools.

----------------------------------------

I just wanted to reply to the tool for hire who posted this comment above. How do you know that the lads who are having a go at Carroll are "wools" as you put it? Supporting Liverpool FC isn't an exclusive thing to people from Liverpool, so have a word with yourself you div.

Huntelaar would be a decent buy for 9 million.

23 May 2011 21:25:10
Ed would I be right in saying Andy Carroll was planned to be bought in the summer when we have some proper wingers ? Cheers. {Ed007's Note - Sorry, I can't help you with that one. Anyone???}

I can confirm that, I read in 4-4-2 that Suarez was our January target to cover/ partner Torres who was destined to leave in the summer. Andy Carroll was our "number one target" for the summer, alongside wingers presumably/ obviously. Chelsea then came in with the money, and we know how that turned out

23 May 2011 21:19:27
Stop linking poor and average players with LFC. The fact is that we lack depth and that can only be filled with world class players. Expect 3-4 good signings !!!

Ed, heard from my source that we will sign yet more young Irish talent! They are from Dublin and were spotted playing for their school team in Tallaght. St.Aidan's is the name of the school their names are Adam O'Keefe and Rafael Ture . Now maybe I'm wrong Ed but could this be the Adam O'K ;) that posts rumours on this site? Just curious Ed any idea?

Spurs fans asking for info on Cristian Ceballos; I cannot confirm UK reports he s signed a 3 year deal with THFC at the moment, but have doubts regarding claims he s expected to make a big impact on the first team within 12 months.

Ed was he not a target... got this off twitter.

Ed, with various players (Gerrard, Reina, Carragher, Shelvey etc.) saying that they're excited for the summer/ next season already do you think that some deals are very close for some good players?? Or do you think it is just have Kenny back?? Surely the said players wouldn't be so excited if it was the likes of Adam and Young coming in, no disrespect to either, but I feel we can do better

23 May 2011 20:41:35
All big names we have been associated with seem not now to be coming hazard, aguero, alonso, young etc.
I believe we will have to settle for the likes of downing, adam, enrique and possibly owen. Hope not but now we can't offer champions league can't attract top players.

Whats with the so-called transfer policy?? surely if a player as prem experience and is an improvement on the squad then who gives a flyin fooook what age they are!! Also as far as the "budget" is concerned these geezers are worth a combined £8bn so don't be fooled by thinking were getting priced out, we CAN and WILL compete with the elite LFC AY WE

is it me or do the rumours on this site get more ridiculous with time. Whomever brought up the name of Ozil is rather not a Liverpool fan or completely insane. Next to Ronaldo, Ozil is the most loved player in Madrid. They are calling him the new Zidane and his passing is just superb. I don't know how many assists he made this year, but he as to be among the top of their league. Also, when you look at the players they bought, Sahin and Altintop, I think it is clear that Madrid have decided to make Ozil as comfortable with his surroundings as possible.

Enough about Madrid:

Diego: is he not just a younger version of Joe Cole? I know he was a The Playmaker at Werder Bremen a few years ago, but where would he fit with us?

A. Young: not sure he is worth the amounts that are being mentioned

Enrique: he can be good, but when he ventures out of position he REALLY ventures out of position

*Adam: at the right price, I'd go for him, can still improve

Hazard: too expensive, we don't need that gamble that heavily on a winger when all we want him to do is deliver quality crosses and break out with pace

Lukaku: too expensive, beware of young African players (I know he was born in Belgium, I was born there too and my family comes from the DRC as well) who appear set to conquer the world, Anderlecht has had a few of those in the past (I like Anderlecht so that is no dig), usually they end up playing in Holland

Sanchez: let him go to City or Chelsea for the same reasons as Hazard

*Downing: smart player, good delivery, motivated to break into the England squad, inexpensive

*Diego Perotti: not the fastest, but has a good delivery and is very clever as well, my kind of player

**Matta: if you want to spend big, this is the guy! (get Pablo hernandez if not available)

*Sakho: mobile and reliable, good buy for any team

**M. Sissoko: could be a not-so-poor man's M. Essien (I mean the Essien of 3-4 years ago, not the one from now who looks like a an older beaten-up Sissoko)

*D. Ba: good guy to have to offer a different look or to come off the bench

Sell: Ngog (or send out on loan), J. Cole, Jovanovic, Konchesky, Degen, Insua, Poulsen, Aquilani, Aurelio, El Zhar, etc.) 23 to 25 million for the lot would be a good enough return.

if we have to sign a striker and i think we do, i think that bojan would be the ideal buy. then second would be bezema hes style is most comparable to baros and we need that kind of player would can play with carroll with saurez is out, play with sauerz if carroll, play with kuyt or simply on his own. but bojan for me get him at £15-£18m or just 20m in euro, wouold rep the best player for money deal in the long run, he has the potential to become a messi, cristiano, aguero figure and would come as we have a few of spanish youth still at the club around his age in ayala & pacheco.

Just thought I'd lighten the mood on this website by posting this and I think it is very positive especially after we didn't think Suarez was gonna make a huge difference but he turned out to be one of our best signings yet ! Anyway here it is :

"Kenny Dalglish has promised Liverpool's fans he will splash the cash this summer - but only if the right stars come along.

Liverpool's owners showed their willingness to fork out big cash by the combined fee of £57.8million they paid in January for Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

The striking duo are starting to look an appetising prospect and that has raised hopes on the Kop that more big names will be moving to Anfield once the transfer window re-opens.

Dalglish is more than happy to spend whatever money the owners give him and he is confident that bundles of it will be available if he needs it.

But he will not fritter away Liverpool's cash and argues that it is pointless bringing in new faces if they are not as classy as players already on the club's books.

"If we're bringing anyone in they've got to be better than what we've got - and that's going to be a big ask, " he said.

"The people we'll be looking at are of the highest calibre - because the players here have done really well since January.

"If we get some work done in the summer to add to the good work that the players here already have done since January, it will be a positive start to the season.

"There's nothing conclusive. There are lots of ideas, and nothing's been binned."

Although Dalglish would love to bring some new players in, he is confident that the Liverpool squad is not a million miles away from being in top-nick as it is.

"It only needs tinkering with anyway, " he said. "If people want to see the best players and assets of the football club wearing a red shirt, that's what we want to try to provide.

"We want to get the highest quality of player in that we can. That's what position we have been put into, and that's what we will try to do.

"Certainly, the owners just want the same as the football club.

"Everything they can afford to put into transfers they will put in. There's no figure on it - and even if there was we wouldn't publicise it - but the desire is there and the intention is there."

Anybody feel happier ? I mean there is still Juan Mata, Marko Marin, Ashley Young etc. And think about it at least he isn't going to another English club ! So lighten up people ! There is always light at the end of the tunnel !

23 May 2011 20:20:13
hey ed, seem to be a lot of micheal owen rumours of late, where are they all coming from, and is it likely? don't see it myself.
also, even tho im not blown away by the the links with charlie adam, i do think that he would be a decent buy. he has a fantastic ability to hit a diagonal pass. we talk about quality distribution needed on the wings, which is clear to see, but we also need quality passing from the middle of the park to feed the wingers when on the the counter attack. and since alonso left we have lacked that type of player to hit a ball 40 yards in to dangerous areas, to start quick attacks. we tend to build up very slow at times giving teams a chance to get back into position, we struggle more against the "smaller" clubs, because we can't break them down, and that is where league titles are won and lost imo. we need options, and pace on the wings, and supply from the middle is where i think we lack the most at the moment.
where do you stand on adam ed?

The players the club would really like to sign seem out of their grasp and the players we are linked with probably won't change the complexion of the team.

I suggest the club will follow the Arsenal model in blooding youth into the team which has already started this season.

This will take time, but it seems the club are not in a position to compete with the likes of Man City, Man United, Chelsea or even Tottenham at this moment in time. Realistically we cannot offer the same wages and ambitions in the short term as our project is in the longer term.

The biggest signing this summer will be the final decision on the stadium issue as well as exploring more commercial opportunities. Finding a new kit sponsor is high on the list after the deal with Adidas runs out at the end of next season. This will give the club a foundation for the next 10, 20 years and beyond.

Budgeting for one summer on players who might come and go seems wasteful as the club simply can't compete financially with the heavyweights in the league. Sad But True. What do you think Ed?

please agree if you fink theres a conspiracy going on between man u and howard webb?

How else do you fink man u got where they are after poor performances i mean i know LFC had a bad season but united won it HOW? {Ed003's Note - by gaining more points than anyone else}

I have to agree with you there, but i goes beyond howard webb and has gone on for the last 20 odd years... teams usually get there fair share of luck and bad luck on ref's decision's but manure seem to get good luck all the time, i mean, can you remember seeing a team get a penalty vs manure and you thought that was never a penalty? it never happens, when watching that pile os sh*te you always see them giving away penalty's and play always gets waved on...Anyone know how many penalties manure conceded at old trafford? i would like to know???

everybody reckons liverpool are goin to sign a load of big name players (i hope they do) but where do you expect the money to come from most of the dream teams ye have cost 100m we don't have that money
****************************************
We have no debt!.. We spend what we earn!.. FSG wants to win things and they know we can only do that with the right players.. Were going to be clearing out a lot of deadwood this summer, which will reduce wages as well as bringing in transfer fees for some of them, grab a couple of decent squad players for free or next to nowt and then spend big on 2/ 3 players.. we don't need to spend 100m

I posted earlier that Udinese had rejected a 5M bid for Sanchez from United. Ed002 thought that the bid may have come from City. I have subsequently heard that Liverpool are tenatively sounding out City's James Milner as well as Villa's Young so there may well be something in what Ed002 says and City may well be the bidder for Sanchez to replace an Anfield-bound Milner.

Stop being so generic!! Not all 'woolybacks' are having a go at Andy Carroll! I think he's a great signing and will prove his £35m price tag once we get a couple of natural wingers to help supply him in the box!! Real reds stick together lad no matter where they're from!!

Woolfred woolman from woolston!!

Is this true Ed, Aguero to Real??

23 May 2011 19:52:21
Ashley Young - £23m
Charlie Adam - £10m
Eden Hazard - £25m
Jose Enrique - £8m
Scott Dann - £6m

I expect all these to to happen at Anfield this summer. I don't think i am too far out with my valuations, however the players in particular are based on opinion. I think Kenny Dalglish will sell Liverpool to those players, regardless of no European football. I believe we can mount a serious challenge for the title with the calibre of these players.

Ed, are these Benzema/ Aguero deals really official, checked on the websites and can't see anything! Also, if Carrol doesn't deliver next season, I recks he'll be off. However, now the owners have appointed the 'King', even if we're fighting relegation - poor Birmingham, they did so well last year - they won't be able to get rid of him without facing what Hicks&Gillet faced from the fans. Think we missed a trick in Villas Boas. Lastly, where d'you think we'll finish next season? {Ed003's Note - 2nd or 3rd }

Diego is coming to Liverpool for less than 10 million. Which is a bargain! Wolfsburg want to do quick business as they are not happy with his attitude. He is a very good attacking midfielder but concerned about bad influence and unity of team

23 May 2011 19:34:30
Hi Ed's

I've heard the rumour of a young player called Marcus Henriksen gooing to Liverpool this summer!!
He's a midfielder playing for Rosenborg (Norway), he's good at keeping the ball, got a really good passing foot, great shoots (scooring from distance), great look, can play both defensiv and attacing midfielder.
he's only 18years and could fit NESV's profile.

would cost around 1.5mill and would be a really good asset!

how do you rate him?

to be honest who ever king kenny brings in i'd be happy because its him who has experience and he'll bring in the best

but if i had to bring in anyone it would be any of these:

Charlie Adam
David Dunn
Phil Jones
Jose Enrique
Mario Gotze
Park Chu Young
Eden Hazard
Leighton Baines
Ashley Young
Juan Mata

I think we can get Charlie Adam, David Dunn, Jose Enrique and Young. Don't know about the others

Hi quick question, has aguero been signed for real madrid???? does that mean we would get benzema??

23 May 2011 19:34:35
Liverpool have lready stated that signings will be an investment long term. Either young players with potential or those going cheap who can be sold later for profit.
Spend in Jan was minimal with Torres and Babel going. Fair play to FSG for re-investing but they didn't pump much in themselves. Budget is going to be £25-30M if you look at it realistically + some of the income from transfers. Would expect £35M tops.
===================================

I think there will be a spending ceiling of 40m + sales.
As you said I wont expect much out of sales , 15->20m includes if Aqua boy was sold raising to 30m plus (IF) Meireles moved on.
I think we will get at least 3 EPL players, and I think these deals (EPL related) will conclude before July 1st.

What we all must remember is without CL and without offering amazing wages and being like 18th in the league (at one point I think?) we signed a world class player in luis Suarez! I think kenny and DC and everyone involved will be convincing potential signings with a project to get back to the top of europes elite where we should be. Believe it or not there are fantastic players out there who don't demand CL and £250,000 a week! There are some like Suarez that wanna be in team that gets back to the top and not just go to a club where there is no effort and life is easy and they win medals with no real fight involved! and trophies are paid for. We can sign top players who will give there all not just for money.we can do it guys....

Three proper wingers will be brought in: 2 English/ Prem-tested and 1 other, who will be our marquee signing. The English/ Prem-tested wingers we are looking at are: A. Young, Downing, A. Johnson, Lennon, N'Zogbia, and Jarvis, in that order. The marquee wingers we're looking at are: Hazard, Mata, Marin, and Turan.

A LB is another top priority, but there is more disagreement there, whether to stay in or go outside the Prem. Scott Dann looks a certainty if healthy at CB. All this talk of Agger leaving is lunacy, though. There are very few CBs who can do what he can and KD knows this. KD's goal is to keep him healthy next season and not playing Europe will help. Agger played 20 games this past season, never even picked up a card, and ended his season with a massive defensive goalless streak (over 600 minutes). Not to mention the qualities he offers bringing the ball out his end and on free kicks. Losing Agger would be a major blow to title 19.

Also, don't expect a move for a CM unless Aquilani is sold. Dalglish rates Aquilani and he would be welcomed back. The striker third striker spot is also iffy. Kuyt can cover that role and has proved he can play well with Suarez. Also, if Mata is the marquee winger brought in, he can also play striker.

Players I expect:
Young
Johnson
Mata
Sissoko
Dann

Anyone a pacheco fan?

23 May 2011 19:16:34
I fail to see why alot of people bang on about left back. We really don't need one, we have plenty of decent full backs, glen for me, kelly RB. We have the young lads as back up. The team has far more pressing areas to fill. Striker anyone? plus more pace. Were strong CM, maybe one enforcer type. Also a centre half; i don't subscribe to this English type centre half myself, prefer quality over nationality.

To the guy who posted on rumours earlier with reference to Tim Cahill moving to us. It does sound ludicrous and I can't see it happening as he seems to have blue blood in his veins but I think he would be a good signing, tenacious and a very good header of the ball and he has always been a pain in the ass against us. Wasn't he was photographed recently with Carroll, Johnstone and others in Barcelona? Perhaps there may be some truth to this one!!

Consider this: Dalglish, Comolli & Co. may not want a huge overhaul.

Just because we have money, doesn't mean we need to spend it in masses.

Think about what has plagued our club over the last few years and what has led to a few poor seasons: instability.

First it was Rafa vs. Owners. Then Rafa left and some players were upset. Roy was brought in. It seemed several players were not fully motivated under him or believed in his tactics. Owners ousted. NESV brought in. Roy sacked.

Dalglish has finally come in and "steadied the ship" as so many of you have said. Would he really want to rock the boat with 5+ additions to the Starting XI?

Aside from LB, LW and CB, I believe we have a pretty solid team.

Our squad is thin, yes. But a complete overhaul seems unlikely to me. We aren't City or Chelsea. LFC prides itself on history and tradition, so I can imagine we'll pull an Abramovich and just splash millions and millions of pounds on players.

We will spend, no question, but we will do it wisely. But don't go on posting Starting XI's with new players in half the positions.

Remember what we have from the academy and what's still there: Kelly, Flanno, Robinson, Jay (who I'm still not 100% on BTW), Suso, Pacheco, Coady and Sterling...among others.

Personally, I see two firm starters coming in over the summer (LB, LW), and a third strong candidate to push for a starting spot as well (CB or CM?). Then hopefully we add squad players to give us some much-needed depth (maybe ST, CM, RW).

Our re-emergence won't happen over night. We need stability within the club and our players. Be patient, have faith.

23 May 2011 19:03:31
Jay Bothroyd is very lazy that would be a silly signing.

23 May 2011 19:01:44
It's no good people starting to complain that we haven't got this player (like contreao) or that player (like Hazard) when they (amongst many others that have been on peoples wishlists) sign for someone else. For nearly every huge name mentioned on this site most of the Eds and some of the more intelligent posters have pointed out why they would not be coming.
This is not to say that we aren't going to sign good players but realistically we are probably going to be looking at less household names and more youngsters with potential.
I, for one, am delighted that there is nothing at all coming out of Anfield, no whispers, no rumours, nothing. This means things really are returning to the Liverpool way.
Have a little patience and I'm sure many of us will be pleasantly surprised over the next few weeks, I'm also convinced that we probably won't hear about a signing until it's in the bag
Have faith

sick of all these woolybacks having a go at andy carroll. hes played only few games. go and support your local teams you wools

That's a bit harsh lad, without the fans that lpool have world wide, lpool wouldn't be as big as they are. Maybe ya should go support Everton like the rest of the city, but yer I agree about Carroll, give him a break, although we do play to many long balls when he plays but that's the teams fault not Andy's. Hopefully that will be sorted for next season.

I think Marc albrighton is worth a bid I think this player is class and has a good future, I no Liverpool reps was at the wolves game yesterday watching Jarvis there is also a young lad from rangers called fleck he has some left foot might be worth a bid

23 May 2011 18:56:49
Blimey, apparently we should buy "
Jay Brothroyd - Free
Micheal Owen - Free
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar - 15 million he still has potential
Majid Boughera - Last year of contract
Gaurdado - Relegated to Seria B
Victor Obinna - Strong pacy and had a very good season with West Ham
Sebastian Giovinco - Very pacy and tricky
Leandro Dami o - Internacional (22 goal in 24 appeanaces)
Renato Augusto - young and promising winger
Davide Santon = promising fullback
Freddie Sears - West ham
Zavon Hines - WEST HAM":-)

Leaving aside the fact that with that squad we might want to change the strip to claret and blue, I don't see how most of these players are much better than many we already have. Don't get me wrong, there are a few players on your list I really like - eg, Guardado and santon, but my impression with both is that their careers have stalled and that neither are necessarily fulfilling their potential at the present. I'm a fan of Augusto as well, but not sure I see him as right for the prem. But Bothroyd hasn't impressed me that much when I've seen him, I don't think he has enough to open up a top qual prem defence, I don't see why Owen would want to return and what does he offer that we can't find elsewhere for a lesser overall cost and greater long-term potential. And as for the hammers, I'm sure we were linked to Obinna at some point although I forget which regime (Woy?). Talent, yes. Temperament, not sure. As for the other two, happy to be proven wrong that these are overlooked gems, but I've not seen anything recently to make me think that.

The messages out of melwood are that less maybe more in the transfer market. I still think that the plan is to change things but over the next few windows rather than just the imminent one. I don't know how much difference lack of europe will really mean, LFC do have money even if we're no mugs. Silva et al bought into Man City (money or no), so I'm sure there are enough quality players out there interested in donning the red, and I think there might be a few players lining up in the squad next season who we all thought would be out on their ears. Fire sales are bad for cohesion, bad for morale and bad business generally. Expect a measured response.

Also, on the loan outs, I hope something can be sorted for Insua, even if he has to be released. I'm not going to try and argue that he was LFC quality, although don't forget that Rafa has ultimately been proven at least half-right about Lucas, but for a young lad he played a huge number of games last season (44 or therabouts) only to be dumped by Woy. Has wilshere played that many games for arsenal this season?

And I believe stuttgart have an option to but degen if they want, but I have no idea about whether they will. I think he's notched up about 5 apps for them this season, so unless its for tuppence it might not happen. And how well if at all do KK and clarke really know either of these players? Could one of them end up back in the squad next season?
Its clear that expectations of wholesale changes are being managed , but I still believe that we'll see more ins than outs, and the odds on some our loanees + benchwarmers still being with us next season have probably shortened.

In terms of wishlists, I notice that a few teams have been linked with Thibaut Courtois, Genk's young keeper of late. From what I've seen I think he's a class act in the making. One for us to target.

Man city weren't in CL yet they signed world class players purely based on wages. We can't be in that position are we?

It will be a challenge to sign proven top quality players without CL, but than again there are many world class players out there to be discovered and we have the scouts to unearth these players. Come on reds get the best and lets start the march on.

Though there seems to be no interest. I hope Liverpool scouts have seen pablo Piatti. A top young lad, great pace and quite technical. He wouldn't cost much as Almeria have dropped to Liga BBVA(2nd division of Spain.). i hope Liverpool sign him. have you seen him, ed? Another great but can be Guardado of deportivo as his side has also been dropped. Thanks. What do you think of these lads, ed? {Ed003's Note - Not seen enough of them to be honest}

Hi ed, i belive we should sign downing or nzogbia as they are both out and out wingers which is what we need to get the best out of carroll. Also we need another CB maybe M'bia and lastly a Left footed left back so maybe warnock

What are your thoughts ed?
{Ed003's Note - Not over keen on N'Zogbia myself mate}

just thought i'd put an end to the kun aquero rumours, he was seen today with his father entering a meeting at the vicente calderon to discuss a move to real who have offered his get out clause, also his father in law (maradona) is pushing for the deal to go through, atleast this might free up benzema or higuain who i'd prefer.

also Rondon from Malaga and Toto Salvio of Benfica (on loan from Athletico Madrid) both young and could be excellent value.

Hi eds
Loads of rumours here about world class players e.g Ozil, gomez. Some of these players are never going to cme to us, the only reason being champions league football. I think we should concentrate o buying player such as Turan, marveax and vargas along with some wingers. Some rumours on here suggest we have more money than city.

"turan, marveux and vargas along with some wingers".... well you just named 3 how many more do we need??

Players like Scott dann, and Ashley young would not be my top targets but atleast it would be an improvement on the squad we have, but I have to say if the transfer window closes and our signings are:
Dann
Young
Adam
Marveoux
And players of this level I will be extremely disapointed

"Steed Malbranque will finally make his long awaited move to Liverpool. After 8 full weeks of negotiations, an agreement was finally reached. The Belgian born French footballer will join on a four year deal worth £95k a week."

Now don't shoot the messenger. This was passed on to me by my psychology professor who's "good" friends with Steve Bruce.
Moreover, I'm a Spurs fan, so have no reason to come here and spew falsehoods.
I respect Liverpool and it's fans.
And I actually think Steed will prove an excellent signing for you guys. Shelvey, Lucas, Spearing can all benefit from his experience.
Ed what do you think about this move?

Don't be a fool, how old is malbranque 50 goes totally against clubs recruiment policy

Surprise transfers seem to be happening all over the place! Only the other day i bumped into my mate, boyce. He is well informed from Harry Redknapps' speech coach that an up and rising premier league star in the form of Scott Parker is on his way to the lane.
I really enjoy watching spurs play, and Parker should be able to add a great deal of experience. Good luck Scott, and good luck to Tottenham in the Europa league and Sunday afternoons next year.

Dann & Young would probably eat £20M+ of that leaving £10-15M for a third striker and left back. Vargas is possible but I'd expect sights to be lower with a possible Clichy deal on the cheap. I know we are interested in Hazard/ Lukaku but won't afford either.

I belive there is a re-affirmed interest in Honda as he can play as a second striker and would also add another playmaker.

Any news on this ?

.........

Any news yeah!
Your speaking out off your chocolate star fish.
Yes FSG didn't actually spend anything in jan , but there was a number of other bids made.
I would be very surprised if that was the budget.

everybody reckons liverpool are goin to sign a load of big name players (i hope they do) but where do you expect the money to come from most of the dream teams ye have cost 100m we don't have that money

Is anyone else really annoyed when complete and utter Gimps post stuff like this the fair play rules are not up and running yet as far as i know and our owners i say "owners" because there are quite a few and a high number of these guys are billionaires so if a few of them wanna put money in then by rights we could easily have more than £100 million especially if they wanna win the frickin Prem

23 May 2011 17:33:59
Ed would I be right in saying Andy Carroll was planned to be bought in the summer when we have some proper wingers ? Cheers

According to some supposed ITK's on another forum, this does seem to be the case. Carroll was apparently a target for the summer, but the Torres situation meant that LFC had to act fast in securing a replacement. Something I'd like to add is that whilst M'Vila has signed an extension to his contract, it does not entirely close off the chance of him moving this summer. It could have been signed to push up his transfer fee and he will have got a nice little signing bonus. He may stay, but I wouldn't entirely rule out his departure. With the British window now open, I would expect that Liverpool will try and make some headway in the signings of Young and Adam. Whilst they may not be some people's first choices, it seems they are two of the most likely.

Pacheco? - Had a successful loan at Norwich last season, he should go back there on loan for next season as he will get regular PL games. Then the season after he will be in prime age to be back-up striker for us behind Carroll and Suarez.

LB - lots of names coming and going. Enrique didn't look convincing yesterday. As a DEFENDER, the primary attribute should be defence, and any attacking attributes are a bonus. He looks all well and good at crossing and going forward, but looks helpless when being ran at by winger! I don't want this guy, look for somebody better where it matters.

as for the summer, 20m+ strikers are not necessary! we need one or two very good wingers. one striker is all we need that doesn't mind a bit of bench warming.

central midfielders? we will have Gerrard, Mereiles, Lucas and Spearing plus Aquilani coming back on loan. Any new midfielder is surplus to requirements.

"I reckon Liverpool should go for Aston Villa Full Back On Loan From Tottemham Kyrl Walker. He's English, quick and can tackle. I reckon about 10-15m should do it!"

Can we stop the trend of linking players to us after we play their team? We don't need him. He's faster than anybody we have, but I have faith in Johnson/ Kelly/ Flanno

Yes. In an the FourFourTwo issue where Liverpool had a bunch of exclusives, Dalglish said that Andy was a target for the summer.

The Torres situation forced their hand, and in the article he said something SIMILAR TO, "when fernando came to us and said he needed to leave, we knew that we were going to bid for andy in the summer, so we figured we might as well do it now."

I don't have the issue in front of me, but it's something like that. And I believe KK mentions that he wanted to bring wingers in with Andy, as well.

Short answer: Yes, you are right.

Charlie Adam will sign for Liverpool in a £10million deal.

Meanwhile Blackpool will replace Adam with Owen Hargreves.

Liverpool will also sign Lille's Eden Hazard and Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku. As well as Gary Cahill from Bolton and 18 year old David Villalva from Riverplate in Argentina. Plus Liverpool will make a £30 million bid for Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi.

David Ngog will join Lyon and Lucas will join Bayern Munich. Also Alberto Aquilani will join Juventus and Martin Skrtel will join Borussia Dortmund as Neven Subotic will join Real madrid with his centre back partner Mats Hummels.

Owen Hargreaves will be offered a pay-as-you-play deal at Spurs
--------------------------------------------
Owen Hargreaves can't play in one place, nevermind two.

I am listening to the song "Irrestible" which suits all our Liverpool fans regarding the transfers coming to Liverpool.. Ed as far as I know, Liverpool have never come out about transfers down the years of who they will sign coz its the Liverpool way and seeing to King Kenny, Steve Clarke and Damien Comolli all must have looked and decided which players to buy and sell before the transfer window opens..

Wat do u think abt it Ed.. lemme know

KINNG KENNY... {Ed002's Note - Certainly Comolli has discussed matters in teh public domain when asked.}

We av bin linked 2 James McCarthy, Jarvis, Scott dann, Charlie Adam, Scott Parker & Enrique - bargain basement from survival Sunday. Seriously lads r these players good enough to get us top 4? please tell me this isn't limit of our ambition. Not inspiring. Ur thoughts Inc Ed's.

Do we not learn we had years of Houlier & Benitez buying lots of average, to me the aforementioned players ARE (bar Parker) disrespectful to our current squad.

Jimbob {Ed007's Note - I'm a big fan of MCCarthy, have seen him play since he was 15 and broke into Hamiltons 1st team, I was disappointed Celtic didn't do more to sign him}

23 May 2011 16:27:50
ed what do you think if charlie adam, scott danns, and seb larsson coming ? do you think it would improve our team and become title challengers? {Ed007's Note - Do you really want my opinion on Charlie Adam? When Maradona signed for Napoli they went on to win 2 Serie A titles with two runners up as well. They won the the UEFA Cup, the Coppa Italia, and the Italian Supercup. Charlie Adam and Blackpool got relegated}

23 May 2011 16:18:30
ed do you think we will be looking at any of the players who have been been relagated? {Ed007's Note - Is there anyone you think LFC should look at? I should take up politics with an answer like that!}

All you younger fans won't remember the first coming of the king. He was the last (apart from Roy Evans) from the old school built up by shanks, Paisley, Fagan and Moran where the Liverpool way was developed and ingrained into our majestic club. Now when KK says things will be done the Liverpool way this means none of us will know who is signing until the club officially announces who has signed not even the eds on this site really know who is or who isn't coming it is all speculation, it is good banter throwing names around but some of the rubbish postings on here lately have been laughable. So let's all sit back take a few beers in the sun ( if it shows up !!) and let the Liverpool way take it's coarse. Then let's get behind KK and the boys knock man u and whiskey nose of their f*****g perch !!

Instead of wasting 35 million on Carroll we should have gone for Sanchez in the summer my grandma is more mobile then Carroll and why does everyone rate Scott dann his average at best and always injured and Johnson makes him look good. And am i the only person who does not want Nzogbia this is Liverpool we want the best players not players who have been around for years and are average. And what a waste of money going to villa after that why would young want to come

(How many times does it have to be stated that the deal was always seen as Carroll plus 15million for Torres. It was basically a deal between Newcastle and Chelsea as Carroll's fee dictated the price Chelsea paid. The fee that Newcastle received has no bearing on Carroll's true value. Stop listening to the Sly Sports valuations on players)

I think you have mistaken the Glazers with NESV. We are debt free and NESV is more than willing to pay provided it is justified.
I think you should read up on NESV and observe the amounts they have invested in the Boston Red Sox, which btw are owned by NESV.

As an admirer of liverpool I thouight I would put in my 2 pennenth. Next season is all about improvement for Liverpool I feel and finishing 4th will be a major achievement as you will have to overhaul Spurs and Arsenal. Not impossible but outside of SG, JR and maybe AC and JC there is no one who would get in the Arsenal Team. Its going to be tough.

The real issue as far as i can work out is Liverpools away form and particularly the number of goals that are conceded on the road. My priority would be a quick Centre back, left back and defensive midfielder (s) who can retain possesion. IMHO liverpool are not good at retaining possesion since Xabi left. Wide men would be nice but my budget would go on the defensive side of things and anything left used to get attackers.

My realistic list would be:

LB Clichey, quick and a good passer
CB Jagielka, quick
DM Controversially Obi Mikel, Denilson or Barry - all good passers maybe not spectacular but will retain possesion.

So My realistic team for next season would be:

-------Reina--------
GJ --JC--PJ----Clichey
--Obi Mikel --SG-----
DK ---RM-------LS
------AC--------

Why are people on about Lucas going? He's one of the regulars this season, especially under KK

And when are people going to realise that our great LFC has returned to the glory days when it comes to transfers. No matter how much social media is avaliable...that boardroom will stay shut!!!

The two clubs in Liverpool now do their transfers behind closed doors so lets sit back, wait and see. By all means make suggestions, but don't claim to know...no one does unless KK has a personal interest in this site...

We need £100m to rebuild the team.
why do top player come to Us? CL football NO, EL football NO, then Remian High Selary and High Transfer amount. We need to pay that to bring at least 4/ 5 Top player to be the CL again. or keep sufer as only Kenny can't do anything when Chelsea, Man city is planing to spend huge.

23 May 2011 15:12:13
Ed what are your views on Hangeland? I think he would be a fantastic signing, solid at the back and has scored 7 times this season for Fulham. Also how much do you think he would cost us??

23 May 2011 15:01:03
I know this is just a rumour site but come on some of the rumours posted on here are a joke "Gerrard to A Madrid" " Lavezzi for 30mil" etc! For a start Gerrard isnt going nowere he is my cousin and i know for a FACt he isnt! And as for Lavezzi the kids an unbelievable footy player but 30mil??..
Apparently LFC are going to buy N'zogbia, Scott Dann, C Adam, and in deep negotiations with Mata and Marin, if all fails with Mata then a 18mil bid will be made for A johnston from City...YNWA

Liverpool will sell:
Lucas- Bayer Munich £12million
Alberto Aqualani-Juventus £11.5million
Martin Skrtel-Bourissia Dortmund £11.5million
Joe Cole-QPR £10 million
David Ngog-Lyon £6.5milion
Sortios Kyrgiakos-Stoke £6.5million
Paul Konchesky-Fulham £4.5million
Brad Jones- West Ham £2million
Dani Pacheco-Norwich £1.5million
Liverpool will Sign:
Ezquiel Lavezzi-Napoli £30million
Eden Hazard-Lille £22million
Charlie Adam- Blackpool £10million
Gary Cahill- Bolton £10million
Romelu Lukaku-Anderlecht £10million

The prices on those are ridiculous. Lukaka is worth 20m, Cahill won't leave for less than 15m, Adam is worth 5m, Lavezzi 30m your joking, 20m. Kyriagos 6.5m? Get out. Konchesky 4.5m? Get out again. N'Gog 6.5m, get out. Joe Cole 10m? f*** OFF. Even Skrtel isn't worth 11.5m.
You know f*** all mate.

Anyone think charlie adam could do a job for us left mid? would offer a great crossing supply for carroll.
Another winger on the right with out and out pace to beat a man would give us a good balance i think.
suarez could then play off carroll romaing to the left etc and dragging players out of their positions at times allowing adam to become more central

23 May 2011 14:07:46
Whoah Whoah Whoah! where are all these Lucas rumours coming from? Didn't he sign a contract not long a go, also he's been our best player this season and he's committed to Liverpool, he's going know where! Get real reds, it's gonna be a big summer for Liverpool Football Club, Were looking to bring in a CB, LB, LW/ RW, CM and a backup Striker, I can also see Ngog leaving along with Konchesky, Insua, Aqualini, Poulsen, kyrgiakos and Jovanovic. Reserve players will be given a chance next season too, as it's looking we are gonna be premier league contenders.

23 May 2011 14:02:36
I would prefer it if Liverpool took a few risks and signed some foreign players, with more to their play than these domestic players who seem to be average. We could sign players such as Dann, Young, Downing etc. all i believe have proved in the premier league but havent set the world alight. I think if we splashed the cash on players such as Mata, Marin, Hazard or Diego, chances are they will add different elements to our game. They have potential to be stars and im sure their outcomes will be similar to that of suarez. The only British player I rate who we have been linked with is Gary Cahill, demand is high and so will the price.

Totaly agree with North west best. Young didnt seem to be bothered about playing yesterday, Maybe he already knows where hes going, Average game by his standards. But Downing ripped us apart yesterday , Love to see him in a red shirt next season. Cant see what all the fuss is over young. Another player id like to see is A Johnston. Him and Downing as wingers under kk would be two good signings.

In an earlier thread A.Young is referred to as a "conker". I sincerely hope this is not a racist comment especially on a site representing L.F.C

For the past 2 seasons our Key attacking players are frequently injured, we have no wingers and we need a "complete" centre midfield player that rarely gets injured. DC and KK will be looking at bringing in star players that mean everything to the clubs they are departing, if they get their main targets the signings will be for massive money and will surprise many.

2010/ 2011
Frequently injured
Carroll, Johnson, Agger, Aurelio, Gerrard, Kelly

Injured now and again
Maxi, Meireles, Cole, Spearing, Soto, Shelvey

Almost never injured
Carra, Kuyt, Skrtel, Lucas, Suarez, Flanno, Ngog

23 May 2011 13:20:30
So no european football next season just one season, i look at it as a great chance for us to have go at the league title if this summer we pull off some top signings, we will be playing 1 match a week compared to the top 4 will be playing 2, we will be fresher and we will have more time to perpare for a game then them. This should work to our favour and its one season this could be a great chance to win the league and kenny and clark know that so we should be excited in a way.

Just hope we pull off some top notch signings.

Reading through the posts today and yesterday, regarding possible transfer targets made me laugh
names mentioned, Demba ba, Owen hargreaves,
Scott parker, nicklas bendtner, and Joey barton.
Surely we need to look at a higher standard, I know
its all about opinions, but Nicklas bendtner really?
the only person who thinks he's any good is himself.
Owen hargreaves is finished, Bartons not good enough.
Parker although a good player is 30, and Demba ba
same as Barton not good enough, haven't we all had
enough of mediocre signings.
If the january transfer window is anything to go by
then players like the above wont be considered, i've
got a good feeling about the summer and who Kenny
will bring in

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have lost out on Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila - just as talkSPORT told you last week.

Aston Villa 1-0 Liverpool
Combative midfielder M'Vila is one of the most sought after players in Europe following a string of impressive displays for Ligue 1 Rennes.

M'Vila, capped eight times by France, was wanted by the Premier League trio to add some steel to their midfield but, as we reported last week, Rennes wanted to resist the temptation to cash in on him.

And following talks with the Frenchman's advisors, Rennes have tied M'Vila down to a contract extension, keeping the 20-year-old at the club until 2015.

M'Vila originally had a deal at Rennes until 2014 but has decided to add another year to his contract in a move that has allowed the club to protect his market value for when they eventually cash in on him.

A realistic starting line up and formation for next season:
Reina

Carragher--Dann--Skertel
Johnson Vargas
Gerrard--M'villa--Merieles

Suarez

Kuyt/ Carrol

With Vargas and Johnson bombing down the wings, M'villa holding the midfield. Gerrard and Merieles utilised for their excellent passing. Giving Suarez and Kuyt/ Carrol the ammunition.

I would be happy with that for the start of the season. Any thoughts?

houillier persisted with traore, biscan. Rafa persisted with lucas, kuyt, ngog (leaving more capable players on bench to rot). Now King kenny is doing the same with lucas, kuyt (talking about them as core players, contract extension etc) as first teamers. player. will he be sucesful with them as fist team players or will shif them to bench and add quality next season. hope time will prove.just an opinion

I personally think the Eds are doing a great job in moderating the expectations and diffusing the hyperbolic expectations of some.
This is not so much a rumour but just my opinion on the transfer market.
Jan saw us sign two promising strikers which people may say have been funded by players who left LFC.
However it also shows that the Yanks are willing to spend such cash(be it recycled or not, it is cash) on striker (35 Mil on Carroll for example) even it is a gamble. NESV from its track record has been a consortium that is willing to spend if it is deemed necessary.
We are debt free and we have owners who would be able to fork out money plus the sale of some deadwood. We should have a sizable amount to work with.
KD would def have the final say on the players and he has not been shy about saying it. Reina has agreed to stay hinting that plans have been revealed to him. For the spaniard to stay, LFC does have its summer transfer plans worked out.
I am sure we will have key signings, LFC is still a big club and a few poor seasons isn't going to change that. Most fans are talking about total overhaul but I presume KD would build a squad with depth than a star studded one.
Trust me when I say that we can all guess on the transfers but we will not be certain about it until it happens. I would love for us to sign Aguero and other world class players. But if we take a look at 2005, we must rmb that a squad with depth is better than some star studded team.

News breaking is that Udinese have just turned down a 35M bid from Man Utd for Sanchez. Obviously this is only the opening bid and United will be prepared to increase this and again this now being public will 'unsettle' Sanchez and possibly provoke him into making a transfer request. Now then, with United chaisng him does this mean that Young is not on their radar and we remain favourites to nab him?

RED LENIN {Ed002's Note - I understand that the bid was from Manchester City.}

I agree Ed, Manchester United haven't got that kind of money to spend on one player, not with all there profits going straight on interest repayments...

23 May 2011 11:23:05
I've heard that Ashley Young prefers United over us. He wants trophies and European football. He also wants an upgrade from Villa and last night we couldn't prove to him that we were a better team than Villa.
Sorry lads, but I don't think he will be wearing Liverpool red next season.
Good i don't want the little Conker at Liverpool anyway I want mata & hazard (suarez's left ball)

Another manc fan invading our page, Wants trophies? Don't you think LFC are capable of winning anything then with KK at the helm? I hope he goes to Manure, I would rather have any of these before Ashley Young...Mata, Hazard, Turan, Muniain or Sanchez any day of the week.

{Ed002's Note - I am missing something here. So you don't want to play in Europa League as it involves travel to exotic far away places during the week, so you can concentrate on qualifying for the Champions League - which involves travel to exotic far away places during the week.}

yeah but with 10x the income of the europa league. i think thats his point ed.
i have mixed feelings on missing out on the europa league next yeah tho. on the one hand we can concentrate on the league more at a time when we really need to get back into a top 4 position, but we lose a chance to blood in our youngsters in a european competition and give them that bit of extra experience.
so i belive it might help us in the short term but maybe harm us slightly in the long term.
with us concentrating on the league next year i would expect most of our signings to have proven epl experience, your youngs, downings, adam, cahill etc.
in any case i am really looking forward to next season.

Steven Gerrard will be leaving LFC to go to go to Atletico Madrid. This will be a swap exchange for Diego Forlan. We will also be paying 80 million for Sergio Aguero and 40 million for Charlie Adam, Scott Park, Scott Dann, Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva, Pepe Reina and Jerzy Dudek.

--------------------------------------------------

Who clicked believable on this. Let me get this straight, at least 2 people reckon that we are going to swap Gerrard for forlan then shell out 40 million to get him back along with two players that we allready own and a former player that retired yesterday........and all in one summer. Ill head down the bookies now...

UEFA are contacting Birmingham City about their place in the Europa League next season.

Despite being handed a license to play in the competition, it is understood that UEFA are seriously concerned about the integrity of the competition with having a relegated team compete amongst Europe's elite.

Liverpool are on standby about these recent developments as it is understood that should Birmingham have their place in the Europa League removed, then it would be awarded to 6th spot in the Premier League, which would be Liverpool.

UEFA are now looking at rules which prevent relegated teams from competing in European competition.

Issue on Blackpool and Fulham to be involved too. However, it would be Fulham in the case of the Fair Play League.

Liverpool's best chance of competing in next season's Europa League is hoping that Birmingham lose their place.

Watch This Space!

{Ed002's Note - It is interesting to see how desparate the fans are getting now for Europa League football.}

Scott Parker:(7/ 10chance)
I definitly want this deal more than adam(or barton) he is similiar to spearing so will help mould spearing into a better player> i think with this signing our midfield will definitly be alot stronger.
Marveux:(9/ 10)
With maxi on the out another new winger is needed so a free transfer option of this lad is i smart business. Comolli is about to talk to his representatives this week.
Scott Dann:(6/ 10)
I want this one to go through so we will have four strong CB options in carra, skrtel, agger and dann. It seems a likely deal.

Those businesses up there are the closest we are at this moment in time we are also chasing many wingers (L and R) and another striker and left-back.
Personally i also think that we need a HG young GK rather than brad jones who is championship at best.

MR E

23 May 2011 09:21:47

These are the done deals according to my source.

In this summer:

100% Reds

Adam

Dann

Enrique

Marveaux

Young will GO TO UNITED!! $$$ Grubber

*75% sure they are coming 1 or 2 will come

Cahill - English

Downing - English

It is Turan or Dzsudzsak

Turan really wants to play for the KOP.

Either Ayew or Kwadwoo Asamoah

Jones

Unlikely less than 15% chance they wear the best Red in England.

Sanchez

Mata

Hazard

Aguero

So i believe our Ins are:

Adam, Dann, Enrique, Marveaux, Dzsudzsak, & Ayew along with 2 or 3 youth players.

The Hairy YNWA Yank.

..........

If they are the players that are 100% joining us , then we ain't getting top 4.

Morning all, I just want to say that anyone who watched the Newcastle vs WestBrom game on MOTD will see that 2 of WestBroms goals came from Jose Enrique's side. For one of them, he passed it to the attacker! He actually got torn to shreds.
Yes, he got an assist, and actually the match shown what Jose was all about; good going forward, but when it comes to defending, you might aswell put the big greek there. At least he'd make 100% tackles, maybe even 110%.
My point is mainly for the £7, 8, 9 or 10mill that we are suggested to be paying, we could get better....
Clichy?
Cissoko?
Baines?

Really sick and tired of hearing the same rumors. The only way we can get back in top 4 is to compete with Man City, Chelsea & Man U on the transfer market!!!

23 May 2011 07:23:48
Will people please stop saying that they don't want to sign players who aren't fans or that say they would go to other clubs aswell as liverpool. Its not 1988 anymore and all young players don't grow up hearing the name liverpool anymore, if a player says he'd go to liverpool or another team there's nothing wrong with that, we would miss out on almost every transfer target if we only signed players that wanted liverpool only since most players keep a shortlist in mind. We wouldn't have bought suarez since his preferred destination was barca. Also some of our best players grew up wanting to play for everton!

Mr E

23 May 2011 04:57:02
Thank god we missed out on Europa League! Now we can concentrate on the League and CL qualification. We'll see how the Spurs like traveling to Turkey to play then play in the Prem later in the week. If playing not playing in the EL is a reason for a player to turn us down, is that someone we really want to sign? Nothing but CL qualification and taking number 19 should be top priority. If we still even have FA and Carling cup play, if we need a trophy that bad. But in my opinion even they should be secondary to the two goals stated. I've a feeling we will be pleasantly surprised who we sign, and why they want to sign for us. Just all have faith, YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - I am missing something here. So you don't want to play in Europa League as it involves travel to exotic far away places during the week, so you can concentrate on qualifying for the Champions League - which involves travel to exotic far away places during the week.}

23 May 2011 04:00:14
Now that the dust has settled on another season, I truly hope that - John W. Henry, Tom Werner, Damien Comolli, and Kenny Dalglish have taken into account when discussing transfers, and indeed any future transfer discussions for next season, just how average (compared to previous seasons) the teams that finished above us really were.

Let's face it we were absolutely abject up until Kenny and Steve Clarke's appointments, and whilst obvious improvements, both in players performance and playing style were made, we can't hide from the fact that those tosser's finished 22 points ahead of us, and dissecting even more, like I have to, from a possible 114 points on offer we could only accrue - 58! ...for those mathmatically challenged, that is just over half!

My point is - the first eleven isn't good enough on a week to week basis, the reserves bench is simply an assortment of average like for likes who simply don't offer, and can't offer any variations, irrespective of what people think, even the most one-eyed patriotic of supporters.

The Tosser's will spend, Chelsea will spend, City will definitely spend, I'm betting that Wenger will buck his trends and see that Arsenal spend, and no doubt Tottenham will spend, so the competition will seemingly "improve" so we as a club must invest in quality, and I mean quality, not run of the mill average Joe's!

Ok, given our lack of Champions League football certain quality players may not come, plain and simple, but if there is a remote chance that certain players may come, our owners cannot let wages and certain transfer fees to totally dictate who we do and don't get. I'm not advocating they be held to ransom, but let's face it, invariably you get what you pay for - e.g. Suarez, and we need at least four or five "A" grade listed players in order to compete for what we all want, and that is the title! ...not fourth, not third, not second ...but FIRST! yes FIRST!

Lucas and Spearing did a job for us, and commendations to both on the jobs that they did do, however I'm not blinkered enough to think that over the course of a full season that these two are the answer, nor am I naive enough to think that two Football educated men like Kenny and Steve think they are either.

So midfield is an area we need improving, not only defensively but also as an attacking force; pace is something we have sorely lacked for years, not since Barnes and McManaman have we had free spirited quick players who could dribble and run with the ball, yes players of this calibre are hard to find but somehow we must find players who can perform in a similar fashion - variation!

I also believe we need an additional striker, Ngog's performance today hghlighted that the poor lad is simply not up to the level we require if we are going to advance from mediocrity into definite solid longhaul contenders, afterall goals do win matches.

Certain other areas certainly need attention, such as a consistent ball winning Centre back, a decent class reserve goal-keeper if God forbid anything happened long term to Pepe, and perhaps a leftback, Aurelio is simply too injury proned.

So in summary, when the "dreamers" and "one too many's" post on here that they have seen Aguero, Hazard, M'Vila, Sanchez, Falcao, Mata, Neymar, or their likes going into - Melwood, The Adelphi, The Casartelli, or even the local chippy then perhaps instead of dismissing them as complete fallacies, flights of fancy and fiction of the minds, maybe, just maybe we could think - well, given our owners commitment to the cause and their wanton desire to match our thirst for success then maybe they did actually see them.

Roll on the summer madness!

23 May 2011 03:30:38
after that match i have to say the one true shining light on that pitch was S. Downing, why are we still talking to young?

23 May 2011 01:55:05
just because scott dann is a scouser doesn't mean we should sign him. ok he plays well alongside johnson but really don't understand why everyone rates him so highly.

if kyriagkos (too old, too slow, too clumsy) is to leave then we'll need a centre half who's good in the air. none of our centre backs are a threat from corners.

we need a sami hyypia style player imo. sakho or cahill

apparently man utd have offered young £130k a week, so it is now up to him, us or them.
just a note on this, ppl have said its between the greed and the honour (utd and us obv) but i don't think anyone can accuse him of being greedy if he goes to utd. there is a higher probability that they will win more trophies than us (hopefully not for long though!) so we can't accuse him of being money hunry if he chooses them over us, which i suspect he will. btw, im a lifelong LFC supporter but im also realistic.

as n athletico fan there i no way sergio aguero will move for at least 3 seasons and why to a club atm who are at a similar perhaps lower level yet as a lierpool fan too i would love to see mata playin there attacking midfield and a good cover player for gerrard, i don't think strikers are needed its mid-field personally (despite many discussions) i feel N Gogg will be a high quality player in a few seasons and perhaps *big call* the next dennis bergkamp

How about playing Steven Gerrard at Right wings. He is a better crosser than every one around and only thing he lacks is that he never takes on Defenders. With Lucas and Spearing at the Defensive Midfield and Raul at the Hole think how much attacking options we have
In 4-3-3
Lucas (DM)
Spearing (DM)
Meriles (AM)
Gerrard (RW)
Suarez (LW)
Caroll (ST)
For this formations we need only a Hard tackling Midfielder who have to replace Spearing in the Starting Line-up. We also know that there are enough back-ups in the form of Kuyt and Maxi for wingers option and we also known that Marveaux will arrive who will be a back-up for the Am and Lw positions.
Steven Gerrard is at his best when he attacks. He always had an eye on goal and has been the best when coming to Long range goals. In recent years he has an eye in Defensive Midfield because he can't get assurance from the likes of Mascherano (sorry to mention him) and Lucas. With the raise of Lucas he may have the License to attack. Next year will be the year of StevieG and the King will be back on Premier League throne...

But we do have Alonso, Pepe and Torres from Rafa's day. even Torres go but good amount of money do come in. yes agreed Rafa handel few deal is very badly . other wise Alonso may still in Liverpool. but still we make good money from his transfer.
