Any news on Ings are we likely to see him on the turf at Anfield before the season is wrapped up? And what's are your thoughts on our midfield situation. we have looked poor when Philly was out. have we back up here. We also played a full season with only one recognized out and out winger Ibe who in fairness to him needs a season or two to develop. Our defensive midfielders have been okey but rarely set the league a light. Lucas is a seasoned pro reliable he won't bag 15 goals from defensive midfield but that's not his job. Can has made improvements but needs to kick on next season if we are serious about a title challenge, Henderson has heart and gives 100% but do we need that extra bit of class to make a push to win the league?

24 Mar 2016 18:41:51
We need a winger to contribute goals. Possibly an outside back, but I'd like to see Gomez fill in when fit. I think a fully fit henderson and Can are great in the middle of the park and lucas and milner are useful as well.

Maybe i'm optimistic, but I think if we can hang on to our stars (Coutinho), and get our strikers on form (Studge and Ings) we should compete for the league. I'd rather us use youth than overspend on players who keep the youth out.

24 Mar 2016 18:49:53
No reason to rush. Probably little to play for in the league and if the rest are fit, may as well leave him for next season.

24 Mar 2016 19:41:41
I shouldn't need to remind you this but if Henderson hadn't been banned in the last few games of the 13/ 14 season we would have a league title. That midfield had Coutinho, Henderson and Gerrard in it. Aside from set pieces, is Can worse than Gerrard in the holding role? No not even close.

Our problem is that in that season we had a fit Flanagan, a fit Sturridge, Sterling and Suarez. I actually don't think Clyne is at all better than Glen Johnson. Lovren-Sakho isn't much better than Skrtel-Sakho. The midfield is just as strong if npt stronger than the midfield that nearly won us the league and probably would've had it not been for a young Henderson making a rash mistake.

So by all means, everyone continue to spout this nonsense about Henderson not being good enough. But to be quite frank, it's just classic fickleness from people who can't remember as far back as two years to when we were top of the league on an 11 game winning run with Henderson at the heart of our team.

24 Mar 2016 20:15:07
Your argument completely falls down as you seem to forget that Suarez made the whole team look far better than they were hence the capitulation when he left. Our defence was woeful in that season we simply had three forward players bang on form because Suarez caused that many problem for the opposition that space opened up for the other two to exploit. Henderson did not stop us from winning the title at all suarez's brilliance got us to second place and his ridiculous behaviour eventually lost us for it. Henderson isn't the player we all want him to be and if he wasn't captain your view wouldn't be so blurred. Jordan Henderson is an average player who works very hard and has a great attitude. If he wasn't captain when Klopp arrived do you think he would be now?

{Ed001's Note - but it is true that we were not as good without Hendo, so his argument does not fall down. In fact, we got just as good results while Suarez was out banned as we did when he played, that season.}

24 Mar 2016 20:41:34
Not much to play for in the league?

Sticks in my craw that. There's a quarter of the season left, 27 points up for grabs. If we take 27 points we'll definitely be in the top 4 IMO.

24 Mar 2016 20:48:31
I think the main problem is that EMS thinks Clyne is no better than Johnson! I know it's been a while, but come on! He hasn't been brilliant but he's not a bad player.

24 Mar 2016 20:54:53
Henderson was awesome that season; he was at times the furthest player forward and I'm sure his assists that season was quite high.

24 Mar 2016 21:19:15
EMS

Absolute horseradish mate - honestly. You don't half talk some nonsense on times.

The midfield isn't on par or better than when we nearly won the league. Please, utter waffle. What an absolute disservice to probably the best midfielder we've ever had. Can has some way to go to even be able to lace up Stevie's left boot.

I think you're forgetting the intangible skills a player possesses, notably mentality. Henderson was fantastic in the 3 with Gerrard and Coutinho, but there was zero responsibility on his shoulders and with real born winners in your team like Stevie and Suarez, you're bound to excel.

And the simple fact remains, we had the 3rd best player in the world in our team. I'll say it again, the 3rd best player in the WORLD, now we probably haven't got the 3rd best player in Bootle. Yes we did well without him, but I can sure as heck guarantee without him we wouldn't have got anywhere near the title. Don't kid yourself on the quality he has, he is a remarkable player, regardless if his personality has tainted his reputation. As a pure footballer, he is a genius.

Oh, and for the record, I really like Hendo. Great lad and top player. I do however feel the captaincy is too much for him. Starting 11 player? Without a doubt. Captain? Not so sure.

24 Mar 2016 21:30:15
Henderson won't score goals as he is playing the deep midfielder. We are stuck with two similar players in Can and Henderson. Both offering the same thing and poor at other. Klopp wouldn't play another CM in there leaving us open and weak in midfield.
No clue what's EMS saying with his post. Two seasons ago Hendo was playing as an ACM which made him look devastating.

24 Mar 2016 23:15:16
If 13/ 14, the defence was half as organised as now, we would have title.

24 Mar 2016 23:28:50
ed is right about we played well without suarez. we had a great style but our defense was rubbish. mostly down to migs, skrtel and gerrard playing defensive mid. our style was still evident in pre season after the suarez sale, but we were still unable to fix the defence. so instead of identifying the problems, rodgers curled up into a ball and started playing 5 at the back and we quickly went backwards because of a manager too stubborn to think there might be a problem with the players he chooses and where he plays them. i'm not actually sure if rodgers is totally inept or if he will learn from his mistakes. it will be interesting to see how he does in his next job.

25 Mar 2016 00:15:25
Hendo is perfect example of a box to box midfielder but he and Can look very very capable next to each other sitting a bit deeper. Both capable of striding forward into the box and also comfortable protecting the back 4.

25 Mar 2016 00:36:57
The only thing idont like bout can / hendo midfield is that their strength (box to box, energy, pressing) can easily become our team's weakness where our midfield are very easy to bypass. I prefer a more balanced combo.

25 Mar 2016 00:56:56
DGX on what planet are Can and Henderson similar players?! The only similarity is their position on the pitch. Otherwise they are completely different both tactically and physically. Can's best attributes are his strength and ability to burst passed players, I've never once seen Hendo do that. Hendo can set a tempo with his pressing and pick a pass in possession. I suppose neither have great positioning or great finishing ability but that can be coached. Both would be great with a top holding midfield player like a Mascherano. Lucas just doesn't cut it for me. Love the guy but he's just an average player that tries hard. i'm looking forward to the coming seasons as I think we have a great side in the making. Just a few tweaks here and there and more experience for some of the younger players and I think we'll be a real force. Exciting times! YNWA!

25 Mar 2016 00:50:58
Faith can you explain more how it become weakness? By pass as in long ball? Long ball can be use against inept midfield with can and hendo too.

25 Mar 2016 04:14:32
Wiseryan

Pure delusion. We did not play any better without him. In fact we did not replace a 35 goal genius then not now. from 2nd with more or less the same team and added 7 players we nose dived to 7th.

Pipe.
Missing the point there mate. In real world we would only need one of Hendo or Can alongside a top class CDM or positionally sound midfielder. For eg. Can- Schniderlin.
With Grujic coming in we are again doing the same thing. 4 B2B. Milner- Grujic - Can - Henderson.

What we miss is someone to play alongside one of Can of Hemderson who sit there and protect the back 4 which release the shackles of Hendo or Can.

25 Mar 2016 08:21:01
I am completely against this idea of needing someone to just sit in front of the back four. Why?

Your midfielders should be the heart beat of the team, dictating the pace of the game. Both should be able to pass, tackle, score and have the discipline to know when to sit back and when to bomb on. They should compliment each other not do two completely different roles.

Leicester are showing that if you have the right attitude and workrate you don't need to sacrifice a player to just sit in front of two centre backs that are in 90% of games are now looking after just one striker.

25 Mar 2016 09:51:57
Never in a month of Sunday's did hendo s ban cost us the title. The pressure did. Poor management did. A woeful defence did. hendo s absence had nothing to do with it. He did have probably his best season to date granted but what happened the following season when Suarez left?

25 Mar 2016 10:58:36
For sure Hendo was a massive loss and contributing factor in 13/ 14. Allen was very ordinary when he stepped in and we lost Hendos zip in midfield and his surges into the box.

DG, Can is more than capable of being a defensive shield but also capable of surging forward if there's space and Hendo has proven he's capable of covering him if he does.

I think people underestimate Cans ability to play deeper midfield, he can def improve still but he's got the footballing brain to make it his own with coaching.

25 Mar 2016 12:01:34
If Jamie Carragher retired a year later we would have won the league in 2013/ 4.

25 Mar 2016 12:13:41
Well that argument falls apart because leicester have kante who is an excellent defensive midfielder.

25 Mar 2016 13:40:53
Kante is not a DM and neither is Drinkwater. They are two way CM`s who can do both attacking and defending as well as cover every blade of grass in midfield. there is none like them in the PL which is why they dominate midfield in almost every game they play.

25 Mar 2016 16:46:54
Kante carries the ball 30/ 40 yards in every game I've seen him. He breaks up play yes, but he doesn't win a tackle and then look to get rid of the ball ala Makele, Carrick etc.

To call him a defensive midfielder is massively insulting to the man. He is a complete midfielder.

25 Mar 2016 18:54:38
Spot on, Mick. the guy barely needs to foul you in order to dispossess you. What a player and great scouting by LC.

26 Mar 2016 01:54:42
Leicester missed him when he was not playing, he has been hands down the best midfielder in the league this season, and will be fighting it out with vardy and mahrez for footballer of the year, he gets my vote.

24 Mar 2016 15:52:50
I hope benteke destroys Tottenham. After all that's been said to him if he still can't get fired enough and run around and score a goal, it's pretty clear that we wasted money. I feel klopp would start him against Tottenham, he has got him fired up and he would have 65-70 minutes to do something about his anfield career. Other wise good luck to the lad for future endeavours wherever they might be. (You can't be missing 10 one on ones in one season as a striker)

24 Mar 2016 16:51:56
He's injured apparently.

24 Mar 2016 17:13:23
Origi injured too and has pulled out of Belgian squad.
These International breaks are becoming a nightmare!

24 Mar 2016 17:39:18
How can Benteke get injured sitting on a bench?

24 Mar 2016 17:56:24
lol i just read a interview by him in which he mentions he is the fittest he has ever been and klopp is wasting him on bench. oh the irony.

24 Mar 2016 18:07:07
He's got a splinter in his arse - quite painful!

24 Mar 2016 18:07:33
SPLINTERS?

25 Mar 2016 21:17:37
suffering from delusion that is causing selective memory syndrome, its the footballers favourite "its everybody's elses fault nothing to do with me" excuse followed by a pitiful newspaper interview designed to garner sympthany from us supporters.

24 Mar 2016 13:01:15
Sad news about Johan cruyff what a player #GBNF.

Believable19 Unbelievable13

24 Mar 2016 15:03:50
One of very few early 1970s players who in theory could still play in our current PL based on his abilities back then. i don;t think there are more than 4-5 players in the PL that can score the second goal he scored against Brazil in 1974.

24 Mar 2016 22:08:21
Disagrees? Really? Some trolls have no limits!

25 Mar 2016 00:01:30
Look everyone- if you are right handed and scroll this site on a mobile app the disagree button lies under your thumb and sometimes gets pressed. Ignore it.

25 Mar 2016 01:23:17
A good friend of mine used the Cruyff turn as his go too move in training I could never get near him had to cut him down . Love to watch old football clips some real quality RIP Mr Cruyff.

24 Mar 2016 12:46:26
To young to see him play but I know what an amazing player he was RIP Cruyff.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - one of the greatest of all time as a player, who then went on to create the great Ajax and Barcelona sides of recent times.}

24 Mar 2016 13:20:28
Ahead of his time technically and in terms of football intelligence.
A true visionary and great of the game.
RIP.

24 Mar 2016 13:37:20
Horribly sad news i am gobsmacked. Tragic.

24 Mar 2016 14:58:13
Ye he really done amazing things was it him who created "total football" at Ajax? I watched a lot of old greats when they used to have espn Classic on telly.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with JC - for the modern game Rinus Michels.}

24 Mar 2016 15:27:01
Ah ok ed002 thanks!

24 Mar 2016 19:10:41
Michels gave birth to the philosophy Cruyff and the other players put it into action.

24 Mar 2016 21:07:58
Arguably the best European player to ever play the game.

24 Mar 2016 22:34:11
It was an English man jack Reynolds who gave birth to total football. He managed ajax in the 1920's to 1940's I think. Rinus Michels played under him. Just thought I'd clear that up.

24 Mar 2016 23:54:50
😄 "gave birth to total football"
I know what you mean supasub but it's a strange expression isn't it.

24 Mar 2016 11:15:31
50 million for sturridge! Hell he's fantastic on his day but 50 million is nothing to be snubbed at. I say if it is true accept and let's get a fully fit striker who can play at least 3/ 4 of the games not 3 or 4 a season or if you think origi and ings spend in across the team.

Believable6 Unbelievable9

24 Mar 2016 11:31:06
Just realised where that source has come from sorry lads heard it on sky'sports news and got a wee excited.

24 Mar 2016 15:10:37
It is sad that people here think that our aim as a team is to make money rather than being succesful on the pitch. I wouldn't sell him for 100m either, simply because we have awful record with new signings. About one in four players we buy are doing decent job, about one in ten is a big hit. Sturridge is among the very few who belong in the big hit list. Yes he was injured but things may be improving on that front touch wood. What will we do with 50M, buy another Benteke?

It is not that we can buy Messi or Ronaldo. We got 70M for Suarez, Sanchez didn't want to come so we ended up buing Balotelli and Lambert. Every time I see people here advocating cashing in on players i wonder if they think they will receive some of the money as some kind of pocket money for the fans.

24 Mar 2016 17:56:36
You're having a laugh if you wouldn't take 100 million pounds for sturridge. Lol. Every player has a price. I wanna keep sturridge too but let's be real.

24 Mar 2016 21:09:28
If they give us 50m for Studge then I think we should defo take a look at it. 100m? Take it and drive get out of town before they change their minds.

24 Mar 2016 10:06:59
Any chance of that transfer update ed001?

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - as soon as I get a chance mate, dealing with visa issues etc at the moment.}

24 Mar 2016 10:42:05
Are you not in Dubai Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I am yes, but my residency visa is about to expire.}

24 Mar 2016 11:30:24
See you soon then Ed.

{Ed001's Note - best be soon, as I am only here until the beginning of May, then I will be going to stay with my parents to save up for my wedding.}

24 Mar 2016 12:13:53
Wonderful. When is the D day? This year?

{Ed001's Note - Jan 6th and no I am not telling you where it is going to be held in case you turn up!!!!}

24 Mar 2016 12:23:51
I would. ha ha ha. Not going to miss your wedding.

{Ed001's Note - that's why it is so damn expensive, hiring the security to keep you out.....}

24 Mar 2016 13:51:57
Can the rest of us come ed?, raffle off tickets to help pay 😂.

{Ed001's Note - that's a good idea....}

24 Mar 2016 15:12:27
looks like my weddings going to be a day after you ed001 haha. hope for the best for both of us ey? haha.

{Ed001's Note - it will all downhill from there mate.}

24 Mar 2016 15:17:09
Just charge for every time you're asked for a transfer update.
You'd be able to pay for your wedding and your divorce.

{Ed001's Note - I could never afford a divorce. It would mean my life would be forfeit. You don't divorce a dragon.....}

24 Mar 2016 15:19:16
Any past players going ed? I hear the white suits are going to make an appearance.

{Ed001's Note - haha I doubt it mate. We are busy trying to convince the younger brother in law that he has to wear Hello Kitty stuff as my missus loves it.}

24 Mar 2016 19:49:25
Left yourself wide open on that last comment ed. wife loving hello kitty. 😂😂
Where did you guys meet?

{Ed001's Note - here. She was sat by the entrance to the mall and I walked into a door gawping at her.}

24 Mar 2016 20:43:05
😄😄 The old "walking into a door" routine.

Good work Ed 😎.

{Ed001's Note - she didn't even notice mate.}

24 Mar 2016 08:30:21
A few players I would like Liverpool to sign, Frazier Foster, Gotze, Victor Wanyama and Marata. I think all this players would add to the squad. I know we need player in other areas.

Just my thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable33

24 Mar 2016 08:54:01
Don't rate Forster that highly tbh. I think we can do better.
As for Wanyama - really don't see what the fuss is with him, but if a clogger and Götze will be over priced in terms of transfer fee and wages for a injury prone sub.

Morata is a very good player.
I like these 2 midfielders we've been linked with at Empoli - Zielini and Paredes. Both look like midfield dynamos but back it up with skill too.

24 Mar 2016 08:56:20
Somewhere ed001 is loosing his mind over wanyama, he is terrible. I don't think we need gotze and fraser forster not good enough. I like morata but not sure we need him either.

24 Mar 2016 09:00:42
Wanyama is poor. Don't rate Foster either.
Rabiot and Lorenzo Insigne would be my choices.

24 mar 2016 09:09:18
no more southampton players!

24 Mar 2016 09:21:43
Each to their own on views of players, personally I was looking at better than what we have already. Wanyama in my eyes is not poor. Strong quick and physical in the middle exactly what we need.

24 Mar 2016 09:45:06
Wanyama is a one good game in four player, he is ill disciplined and there are far better players around at the same price, example being Granit Xhaka.

24 Mar 2016 10:00:08
Xhaka isn't really far better than Wanyana. The guy gets sent off every 10 games and booked every other game. He's a thug with a good passing range. Also he'd be far more expensive than Wanyama. Not that I want Wanyama either. He is overweight and has no oustanding football ability.

Of the two Xhaka is better, but neither present value for money. If we are to spend top dollar on a holding midfielder we would be better off going for someone who can do the job well, without getting banned repeatedly. I honestly don't know what is wrong with Hendo, Can, Stewart, Rossiter, Chirivella and Brannagan though. Plus Grujic and Matip can both play comfortably in central midfield.

24 Mar 2016 10:14:35
I don't think that forster would be enough of an improvement to justify his purchase
Gotze would be overpriced and it sounds like he has an attitude problem furthermore not sure he is really required considering the player we already have in the squad
yes morata is good but this is not only seriously unlikely but we also have 4 or five, including firmino, strikers in the team
wanyama is overrated, inconsistent and ill disciplined i agree with ron despite only seeing him on youtube piotr Zelinski from empoli looks a good player and only 21 however we also have grujic coming to the club so really nothing can be done without selling some of our bloated squad.

24 Mar 2016 10:23:45
I wouldn't want any of the above. A new goalkeeper has to be the priority but I'm not sure who would be the best bet. Would probably take begovic as I think he would be value for money. Would love Kante over any other player in midfield, he's immense. I would also sign a right sided winger. 3 in with a lot of outgoings.

24 Mar 2016 10:46:33
EMS

There is nothing wrong with the names you mentioned except they aren't positionally sound. We have seen time and time again the weakest part in our team is midfield. Both Can and Henderson are ill disciplined thus leaving spaces behind them. Can more often misses large part of game and is wasteful of possession While Henderson is not good protecting back 4. Our wide players doesn't track back which drags CM out of their position. We need a specialist there.

24 Mar 2016 10:48:57
Why must every player on this page be either great or terrible? Neither Waynama nor Forster are terrible. Both are a long way off great. They are both about average premier league quality.

24 Mar 2016 13:46:53
Hendo is positionally sound though? If he gets forward he bombs back into position. Can I will admit gets sucked out of position. Stewart and Chirivella have excellent positional sense hence why they took apart West Ham in the cup only to be let down by the rest of the side. They dominated the middle of the park though. Rossiter hasn't played much first team football but his oustanding attribute at youth level was his intelligence and reading of the game as physically he is slow and weak. Lucas has great positional sense but is lacking the pace to stand up a man. They can just kick it past him now and run after it.

So your comment that none of them have positional sense is just ridiculous. If I was looking at that list looking for faults the only glaring issue there is a lack of goals from the centre of the park. Alonso and Masch didn't score much though. But by providing a solid base they gave the attackers freedom to go forward with more purpose.

I completely disagree that we need a holding midfielder now with the emergence of Stewart and Chirivella this season. I'd focus more on on a left back, keeper, and right forward. What is the point in having an academy if we ignore players as good as Chirivella? He has shown me enough to believe that when he bulks up he will be a top top player.

24 Mar 2016 15:27:10
Whatever money we have in the summer needs to be spent on the best available keeper we can get. If we buy no-one else then I'll be happy.

24 Mar 2016 08:11:33
Morning redmen.

Sorry its late I've been a busy boy! Plus only just brave enough to come out of hiding after that collapse on Sunday!

Here's last weekends loan update.

Luis Alberto opened the scoring as deportivo won 2-1. Out of all our loanees he has been the most consistent in a tough league. Hopefully klopp will get a pretty penny for him in the summer.

Ballotelli was brought on for the final 15 as AC drew 1-1 with Lazio.
Is appearance was greeted with boos by his own supporters.

Awoniyi opened the scoring and assisted the second as FSV took a 2 goal lead!
However the manager subbed off his lucky charm in the 80th minute and the game finished 2-2!
Its becoming more then a coincidence now.

Yesil was seen getting off the luzern bench this weekend, unfortunately it was only to stretch his legs.
The unused sub watched on as luzern drew 1-1.

Vigouroux didn't feature as Swindon drew 0-0. I believe he is injured but I do not know to what extent.

Wisdom watched on injured as Norwich won 1-0.

Fulton and Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Mansfield as their promotion push continues to slip.

And finally canos came on for the final 20 as brentord lost 1-0 to 10 man Blackburn.

And there's your lot redmen.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

24 Mar 2016 08:24:57
And that's not your lot as I forgot the normal two!

Grujic and Belgrade won 4-0 setting a new Belgium league record of 26 wins in a row!

And Allan and sint truiden didn't play this week.
Sint truiden are currently 3rd in the league by 3 points despite losing 3 and drawing 1 of their last 4.

24 Mar 2016 08:30:43
Anything on Markovic Carra?

{Ed002's Note - He has been injured.}

24 Mar 2016 08:36:36
Hes currently injured and their game at the weekend was called off for some reason.

24 Mar 2016 08:47:42
Thanks Carra 😍

Maybe Red Star can go for the Serbian league record next 😉.

24 Mar 2016 09:02:07
Haha well spotted ron.

Red star have set the Serbian record.

Its Allan and sint truiden in Belgium.

24 Mar 2016 09:13:49
haha good one ron.

thanks carra appreciate the updates.

24 Mar 2016 17:29:08
Thanks Carra - much appreciated!

24 Mar 2016 08:03:16
Read that they trying to extend champions league from 2018 to fend of the possibility of a European super league. how many teams would be in it? How realistic is this as 2018 not long away. where does this leave the uefa cup? getting complicated now. I liked the old format with champions league, uefa cup and cup winners cup but I'm old school.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

24 Mar 2016 08:14:59
This is Ed02 territory. He did mention weeks ago UEFA Trying to counter the Super league with a new proposal.

24 Mar 2016 09:10:09
I read headline today reducing groups stages to 16.

surely not, that would guarantee a breakaway!

I personally thought Danny would go in the summer and he'd be the surprise transfer, 45 mill to psg? i'm not sure but i honestly don't think he'll be here, happy to be wrong but i dunno, I just don't see Klopp as the wrap em in cotton wool type, looks like crazy season is starting early!

My view.

PSG would defo look for a new striker with Zlatan moving and Cavani never looked like the man to lead. I believe their interest on Lacazzaate has faded and Lewandowski would be too difficult to prize away. As Per Ed02, Higuain is the one they would try to bring in and if not they could move for Sturridge ( There is a shortage of world class striker who could change the course of the match )

PSG has cash to buy anyone.

24 Mar 2016 07:55:31
It would be a real shame if he left.
Would I sell? Depends on who we can get to replace him.

24 Mar 2016 08:00:43
wouldnt mind chicarito to replace sturridge.

24 Mar 2016 09:11:02
depends for me if he could stay fit or not

past record would suggest not likely to.

24 Mar 2016 09:16:16
if chicarito is who we'll be getting i'd rather stick with sturridge.

24 Mar 2016 11:13:49
Massive fan of Sturridge always have been.

Match fit easily the best player in our squad, but if PSG where to offer 50mil I think we would be stupid to turn it down.

24 Mar 2016 13:00:04
I'd like both the pea and studge.

24 Mar 2016 13:49:57
It has to be remembered that, nomatter how much PSG offer for Sturridge, we won't get a better player than him, or PSG would go for said better player. BUT, if we get a very good player, who is fit all season, AND some extra money to spend elsewhere, it could be a good deal.

Wouldn't want Sturridge to go, but everyone has a price, and long-term it could be good for the club.

24 Mar 2016 14:46:34
He's injured and people want to sell for 25mln, fit and debating 45-50mln? Isn't going to happen.

24 Mar 2016 05:39:30
Im tending to dismiss the reports on Liverpool being interested in Morata (if only because I can't see how we would have room for him) but was interested in what you guys think of him? I don't watch Serie A so can only go on what I have heard (26 gaols in 2 years in Italy is not bad for a youngster) and on youtube but he does look promising. Would he be a good fit with Liverpool?

24 Mar 2016 05:44:13
Morata us awesome, but it is highly unlikely that he will come to us. But if we get Champions League somehow then there is a real chance.

Did u not watch him against Bayern Munich, was the best player on the pitch. He played good in Last years Champions league as well.

He is a level above all our forwards.

24 Mar 2016 08:12:02
Not a chance without CL football.

24 Mar 2016 04:33:24
To Ed001 - as you have mentioned before Henderson is carrying an injury and playing through the pain barrier in every game for us. There have been rumblings that his injury is "untreatable" and that he will be stuck with it for the rest of his career - do you know if this is true or not? I only wonder because I imagine, if this is true, that the lad will perhaps struggle to be the tireless, indominatable prescence he was becoming before the injury. Do you have any more knowledge or insight into this injury? Will he be able to fully recover? Thanks for any knowledge shared ed - I hope, for the sake of Hendo and the team, that he is able to make a full recovery.

{Ed001's Note - it can be operable, if it deteriorates.}

24 Mar 2016 04:41:27
Not sure on that Ed01, The player himself has said this Is a life long injury.

24 Mar 2016 05:58:57
does it mean red nose is right about henderson after all?

{Ed001's Note - what? What are you blathering on about now? This is nothing to do with his bitter ramblings.}

24 Mar 2016 06:29:19
What Ol' red nose sid was that the way Hendo runs would cause back problems later on in his career. Just mind-games ahead of a match som years ago.

24 Mar 2016 06:55:34
He's not carrying the injury any longer. Klopp said it ruptured and is now healing.

24 Mar 2016 07:17:27
Henderson played high up the pitch is a joy to watch. As good as Vidal on his day. Henderson played deeper or in the middle is painful to watch.

24 Mar 2016 08:03:33
He does play better free up the pitch, but he lacks any composure around the box, not Vidals level by any means.

24 Mar 2016 08:12:38
Fencey

I agree he lacks composure so he doesn't score a lot of goals. But that's the only area he should play or fit in my team.

24 Mar 2016 14:51:43
He's a box to box midfielder first and foremost, can defend, provide assists and get into the box to score.
He's also building a good partnership with Can and more than capable of playing deeper so very happy to see him there.

24 Mar 2016 14:59:18
Thanks for the response Ed.

24 Mar 2016 03:56:42
todays rumour is that psg are to bid £50m for sturridge, with that in mind fellow posters would you accept that bid or would you keep him, i personally think that it is to good a offer to turn down for a player who sadly misses large chunks of the season injured, when fully fit he has been brilliant for us, but the trouble with him is when he gets injured we never know how long he will be out for. is the interest in him from psg genuine eds? has sturridge made noises about leaving, does he not get on with klopp either?

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of and he is far too busy trying to get his form back to worry about anything else.}

24 Mar 2016 04:19:06
Doesnt sound even slightly realistic to me. i'd probably accept 50 million for any one of our current players unfortunately . I don't think we have really had any player worth that much since Luis left.

24 Mar 2016 04:28:26
thanks for the reply ed as when on form there are few better he scored a great goal sunday which would have got more of a mention if not for skrtel.

{Ed001's Note - very true, but he is a long way short of form right now, sadly. He is a great player on his day though.}

24 Mar 2016 04:42:38
If this had any substance I would honestly take Lucas Moura and some cash. Firmino looks better playing the lone striker up front.

24 Mar 2016 05:59:55
DG, u r right, Lucas Moura is speed demon, makes Bale look like slow.

24 Mar 2016 07:19:06
True that Leek
He is as good as Sanchez. The lad is physically built for PL. A player like him on the right wing will be devastating.

24 Mar 2016 07:57:43
Depends on who we get to replace him.
My instinct is "no deal" because world class goal scorers are hard to sign.

24 Mar 2016 08:05:07
He Tooks years to settle in France, which is generally a poorer league. I wonder if he'd settle immedietly in England.

24 Mar 2016 12:56:32
Annie I reckon couthinio is worth 50 mill all day long.
