Just watching Sky sports about a programme about Shanks (again even though I have recorded it!) and even though I lived through Shanks era, and boy was it good, you do sometimes forget,. Simply for me because he was followed by legends, Sir Bob, Joe and Kenny to name but 3 (will always include Rafa in the legends so make that 4!). Just listening to Shanks speak again is so reminiscent of Kenny today, we need to realise how fortunate we are, we now have a manager who is clearly his own man but without doubt practices Shanks beliefs��..watching the FA cup return in '65 reminds me of 2005, just imagine redmen when do win the league again��.I've already informed the wife I am out from the Sunday (last game of the season) to whenever I get home, which could be a long week!! - TMac

Rafa does belong there. He fought for the fans, players and club against our worse owners, luckily Shankly, Paisley and Kenny did not have the same problems. Rafa still loves the club.

so early august, season yet to start and all our dreams were possibly top 4, couple of good cup runs, players settled and things looking good........move forward to the end of december, oh and look, new players settling in well, semi of the first cup we enter and only 3 points off 4, yes 3!!, yet I come on here and you would think we mid to low table, out of the cup and with the worst set of players we have ever had along with a manager, who according to reports and folk on here is out of date!! time for a lot of people to get real, and look at the bigger picture, we're not that far away, and it will get better, we are on the up and to be honest I am really fed up wit all those who moan about every bad result, then a week later say how great we are. We are in transition and I BELIEVE we will get better and better, faith and support boys, faith and support! - TMac

I agree mate, we are in a rebuilding process, from scratch, which will take a couple of years and we have just begun. People cant expect to win the league straight away, but the first steps are being made and were going in the right direction. All the best. Roblfc86

I agree with OP, we have had a great season and if it wasnt for the woodwork and some of the visitin goalkeepers amazin saves, we would be a fair bit higher than we already are, its not our fault some keepers have made world class saves against us, we do deserve more, but thats football and thats why we love it

What you missed as well is now we have the best defence in the country, the table doesn't lie.

Everything below the top post I agree with, but the tosser who couldn't even sign his post should get a life. How can you judge a player who doesn't get a chance, he, like Liverpool is in transition. He's adapting to our ways. I bet you were one of the ones slagging Lucas off and look at him now, future Liverpool Captain. I think that these fans are unrealistic expecting Pato to come to the club, milan would never sell him because ibrahimovic is getting old and they need more young players to come through. Even if we did make a bid, they would be looking for a ridiulous sum due to his age and potential. He has potential but he is not the sort of player we need. We would need someone like Podolski, what is the likelihood of him coming? Or Darren Bent? He is a proven PL striker.

Seen a lot of posts here regarding the departure of Suarez. So just one question to everyone:
If Aguero was bought for 38million and Falcao for 35million then why does everyone here seem to think that Suarez will be sold for 60-70million???
According to me everyone is being too much optimistic. Not doubting his ability but he is nowhere near as good as Aguero.

Doesn't work like that i'm afraid. I bet defenders would be up their in with the players wouldn't like to mark. He can do things Kun and Falco could only dream about. He's been looking a little bit tired in the last game or two and still does things that have you on the edge of your seat. The other player you mentioned go to sleep in hands where xout don't even know their playing until their numbers up to come off. Two top goal scorer's but in no way do they play to Suarez's level week in week out. I dont know any player who has played to tho level Suarez has done week in week out for club and country. Know its hypothetical but he would've had a shedload more goals had Gerrard been fit and,and if we can keep Gerrard fit,and he should have hit his straps to the max assuming Suarez's ban stands at 8 games it'll be a match made in heaven. 60 mil min is Suarez's value,he'd enhance and wall into any team in the world inc the two Spanish giants. A rest is what he needs,don't want to go into that again,been covered more then enough. Once back i'm convinced his finishing will improve to the standard he produces for his national team and when at Ajax. Just needs someone else to share the load of being a creator and goal ranorer that and hopefully that will be addressed during January's wiow with a player like De Jong and if were really lucky Soldado to go along with De Jong who's arrival looks imminent according to some which with what i've seen and heard can only be a good thing. A wide right player would be nice as well but 2 quality signing's to go along with Gerrard in my opinion push us into the top 4. I got a bit off track but if Carroll 35 and we got 50 for Torrres then Luis 60 mil min. Nowt lasts forever in footy but let's hope he's here to entertain us nor a few more years yet.

lfc will confirm the signing of fernando on jan 1st 20 million he will be a great addition,kenny is also looking at darren bent and i think he would be a great signing he wont come cheap mind.

What when Lucas would come back and what about the young lads coming through. i believe we'd not be signing CM or Dm in january. YNWA

I think Jenny shud look into px players and cash for better players ; example canavani for kyut maxi 20 mil and 15 mil and aqua for lazzerie. Ozil shud sign 19 mil and Adam Johnson 20 mil and lucas 26 mil and maybe a strong defender

I have been critical of the possible signing of de jong, stating that I didnt think he was clinical enough. After reviewing his stats (which I'm sure DC and KD will do also) I may have to change my mind...

Last season

Games - 31 (1 as subsitute)
Goals - 12
Assist - 0
Shots - 24
Conversion % - 50%

This Season
--------------------

Games - 12
Goals - 10
Assists - 0
Shots - 14
Conversion % - 71.42%

These stats are for league games only.

Compare his chance conversion for this season with all of our strikers combined and he still absolutely obliterates them.

Our strikers convert only 6.8% of all chances so far this season, thats the total for all 4 of our strikers. For other comparison see him compared with our strikers around europe....

R. Van Persie - Goals 16 shots 74 Con. 21.62%
L.Messi - Goals 17 shots 80 con. 21.25%
C.Ronaldo - Goals 20 shots 102 Conv. 19.6%
E.Cavani - Goals 9 Shots 48 Conv. 18.75%
G.Higuain - Goals 12 Shots 48 Conv. 25%

Even if his conversion ratio drops by half, De Jong would still be the most clinical finisher on this list. I expect that if he comes to england his ratio will probably drop by 50-60% that would still leave him converting 1 chance out of every 3 into a goal. Considering how many we create, that would be very good for you all.

Dear Santa.

I am grateful for the slippers, primark underpants, tight fitted vest and umbro white sport socks, but there are a few things I missed of the list. Here goes...

I wish to read a paper without seeing Suarez' name highlighted over every page. I wish our fans would sing at the home games as we do the away ones and that our day visiting fans would concentrate on singing instead of talking about what happened in Corrie, and taking digital photos of Skirtel taking a throw in. I wish that for all the 25 odd post/bar strikes the ball was hit maybe an inch less than originally struck. I would like Andy to cut his bird-hair and destroy opposition players as we know he can and to hopefully receive a pair of roller skates to quicken him up when running. I would like our fans to stop dreaming of a return of Torres and not to link us to every champions league quality player who INTENDS to be plasying in the champions league. Most of all, I wish we would all be a bit more realistic in our aims and to support and defend our team and players as we always have. That is all.

It's Christmas morning and all across the English football world, Santa has made his rounds.

Torres gets nothing for being a petulant spoiled brat.

Rooney gets a wig. He's been a bad boy but Santa took pity cos the lad really needs it.

Carroll gets a new pair of (scoring) boots... I hope.

And man u lose their gaffer but Santa now has TWO red-nosed animals leading his sleigh.:-)

Nope the english bs was daglish's decision. commoli was bang on with saurez. daglish didn't allow any of commolis finds to join ex: sissoko. so hopefully we go international this jan so that we can do some good to the squad . the sad part is we cant get rid of caroll ( who seems to be getting out of tune with every passing game ). cammoli must pull of some huge miracle to bring any of the top players to anfield. ( enrique was the only commoli suggestion listened to buy the gaffer )

Your all speculating, why?, the only solid fact we know is that DC finds targets and KK has final say, so its a combined effort. The players that get slagged are the most undeveloped, which still have many years of progression ahead of them so just let them be. Since last year, the foundations of the squad have been laid the non-lfc players have been ejected. With the best defence in the country, some talented pass and move players including Suarez and Gerrard, we now have a solid platform to add quality and progress. The back bone is solid we just need to add some prime fillet, which is hard to come by at this time of the year so just be patient. Merry Christamas! YNWA
