I think the buys so far are good especially with the prospect of Gerrard not begin available. BUT Suarez is our only player who can put a defence on the back foot and we need at least another one player like this in my opinion. PACE, PACE, PACE please WE gotta sell and buy at least one more with pace

I've just read on the Voetbal International site that Luis Suarez won't be arriving back at Anfield until the 1st week of August. Liverpool are going to allow him to become match-fit and he wi;; not be taking any part in the Sunderland match but that he will be available to sit on the subs bench for the match against Arsenal. I know that there are a lot of disbelievers but if they look on vi.nl (which is extremely reliable) they will see it for themselves.

Has aquaman been the most expensive talented player who has never started a premiership game for liverpool.

A man who never started a english premiership game in his life. WOW

I'v herd of flops, but wow. {Ed002's Note - Just to be clear that the only ones that are potentially relevant are the 300k for Champions League qualification and 1M euros for winning the EPL. The 5% payment removes future liability.}

I for one will be happy when aqua goes, injured when we bought him, to light weight for premiership and no guts to even try to adapt. Plus we can at last put to bed all the whinning of hope he dont leave, he aint leaving etc etc

Whats the point its only a name lol anyone can make it up could call themselves anything. if ur replying to a post u dont need a name of the poster {Ed002's Note - I think it would help folks relate to each other better. Perhaps Blair, Red Lenin, Red Indian and Red Willy and the others who have consistently used names can help. It also helps you build up a mental picture of each of them. I see Blair as the god like creature, tight buns ...}

Begs the question Blair, is Ed002 building up a mental picture of u wearing an 80's style leather cat suit?

Hi Ed. Is it likely that the supposed £10 or so million we may get for Aquilani after his loan spell has expired in a year will be available to KK now, or will he have to wait a year? Also, do you think theres any legs in the Ngog plus cash for Cahill rumour? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Football finances do not work in such a simple manner I am afraid.}

Can anybody tell me when the new season tickets are going to be available for collection ?

25 Jul 2011 20:56:11
hey EDs would it be possible to make everyone sign off there posts?
like make the name box a required one rather than not required? and then post it automatically under there post.
getting a bit tired of the keyboard warriors posting rubbish without a way of reconising them the next time they post crap.
MIKEY {Ed002's Note - WE are not going to do it automatically but the Manchester United fans sort of decided that they would not reply to folks who failed to sign their messages and that seems to have worked. We do encourage it.}

Realdelmumdo, your joke must've had everyone in splitting their sides with laughter, looking at the number of agree's you got. At least i shown my passion for the club, and it would be most players. Heard the joke that was 7-2 down, go and read 16.59. Backfired eh lad. Jonson6

Hey Ed,

If the Aquilani to Fiorentina deal is completed soon enough will we move for anyone or just wait untill we get more players shifted? thanks

{Ed002's Note - The international transfer window in not yet half way through, there is plenty of time yet to look for new players. I think the priority remains moving folk on for now.}

25 Jul 2011 20:00:03
I am strongly of the opinion we will get a 4th striker this transfer window. David Ngog has been made surplus to requirements. The agreement to sell him to Sunderland told us that. However there's no doubt that Dalglish has had another good, long look at him during pre-season. I suspect he is actually putting himself in the shop window nothing more nothing less. Pity he had the potential but just didn't kick on last year at all and went backwards.

So with Kuyt back up top, Carroll and Suarez as our first team strikers, we are definitely short. The modern day striker no longer has a run of 7/8 games on the bounce nowadays in which to get match sharp. It appears that the tinkering in sides mainly affects the strikers, 'resting' them at very regular intervals in order to keep them sharp all through the season. There's pro's and con's to this.

Dalglish has shown a preference to tinker via different formations rather than picking 'two from three' etc. Those of us fans who knew Dalglish from his first stint will be familar with this style of tinkering. I can remember the many teams, especially away from home, that included Molby as an old fashioned sweeper, with Beardsley left on the bench Therefore Dalglish will decide to play one up front on his own - Carroll- with Suarez used as a 5th midfielder, then he'll decide two up front, Kuyt and Carroll with Suarez playing off.

This is fine as long as all three suffer no loss in form, suffer injuries or suspensions. As we all know you have to plan with these headaches in mind. Suarez in particular, will suffer with suspension this year and the odd red will be shown, i'm convinced of this.

So if you have any one of the three out of the side for any of the reasons stated then you're restricting your options straight away. One of Dalglish's biggest moans last year was the depth and quality of the squad. Well in the striking department we have issues in both regards.

I do not believe Adam Morgan or Raheem Stirling is ready just yet for the 5-15 outings in the first team that a 4th striker would be expected to undertake in normal circumstances. If this was Fulham, West Brom etc. then it's a different ball game but at this big club, the pressure can break a player so therefore you have to be completely fair, honest and careful with their progress, more so at LFC.

The question is if a youngster at the club isn't the answer, a big 'name' isn't applicable for various reasons and yet anyone who has the ability, and in Dalglish's own words 'signings must improve on what we already have', isn't really going to want to play a bit part in a season either. Perhaps if we rewind to 2004, we could ask Michael Owen if he wants to waste his career counting money and splinters in his arse? We have little idea as too how Dalglish wants to utilise his strikers and that is key.

Personally he bought Carroll for a reason, what with his height and strength etc, so therefore Suarez and Kuyt can do the same basic things, but what if Carroll breaks down? Many a pundit are saying we are building a team with the ability to get the most out of Carroll, so it seems a little strange we should do that and then run the risk of the 6ft 5" spearhead being out of the side.

If Dalglish wishes to rotate the 'big' striker upfront like for like and wants a striker with similar abilities so that the likes of Gerrard, Adam, Downing can continue in the same vein with supplying the ball. There is only one player i can think of. He plays for Bilbao and he is actually a fair bit better than Carroll.

But i'm not Dalglish but if i was...................

I am absolutely distraught that we are letting Aquaman go. He was Juve's best player last season and has been our best player pre-season. He showed his class end of season 2009/2010 when he was fit.

This boy can play, good all round midfielder. He hasnt been treated well, no wonder reports suggest he doesnt want to stay. Why oh why did we loan him out last season and bought Meireles, who is now being sold.

liverpool should sign: Left defender Marcel Jansen = is young, good attack, good defense and cost 10 million; attacking midfielder Diego is a young sensational qualities of attack will be Gerrard's successor, cost 10 million. right winger should be Salvio from Benfica is very young and very good in attack cost around 10 million. IN attack would have to sign Nilmar from Villareal great striker and cost 15 mil. total of 45 million if we can sell 2 million Poulsen, Joe Cole 5 million, 10 million Aquilani, 8 million N Gog. Total receipts 25 million; have signed four young and good players FOR20 million good, and sell players who have high salaries and not comfirmed

25 Jul 2011 17:57:58
Please, please do not sign gary cahill, he is over rated over priced and would be another average signing. These home grown players we are looking at are just not good enough, please can we look else where for a LB, CB and winger, someone like Godin, Hummels, Lovern etc. We've already signed three British players who arguably are not the quality we need to compete for the title. I dont want to see Cahill, Baines, Jarvis, Johnson, Milner, Barton or any of the other over rated/priced british players we've been linked with. When it comes to champions league in the future these players will struggle against europes elite teams (as will the players we have signed already).

If Brad Jones is leaving for personal reasons and we have already signed Doni as number 2, does any of the Ed's know why Jones has not left as I'm sure he would rather be at home with his son or has something changed?
INDIANred. {Ed002's Note - There will not be anything sinister. I suspect that before Doni was signed, and knowing of Reina's operation, a date was agreed for the release of Brad Jones - perhaps the end of July, perhaps the end of August - who knows, but it is not appropriate to enquire.}

I think Liverpool will be able to make it until January with their current left backs (Insua, Aurelio and Robinson).

The problem is strikers.We need 1 or 2 to increase squad depth.

We probably need one quality centre back.Some of the current ones make too many mistakes.We cannot win the league without solid centre backs.

25 Jul 2011 17:38:54
Enriqe will not be a liverpool player whilst Kenny is Manager. (Fact) K.K. is "traditional Red" a Boot Room member.People who had Liverpool F.C and the Fans at heart. Pride, Passion and an great team Spirit and of course keeping everything that went on in the confines of the clubs corridors. Something that certain former L.F.C players failed to recongnise and concequently shown the door.

My point is, we may have been interested in Enrique, but not anymore. He should of dealt with his grievence behind closed doors ("prat"). He is not the sort of player we need.

Cahill will be liverpools next signing (probably in the next 7-10 days) Now that we are begining to make progress on players departing.
I'll be back with more facts. T.R.O.

25 Jul 2011 17:35:32
Ed, are there any DECENT, players available for loan?

Instead of splashing out and paying wages, why don't we try to loan a couple of good players in the positions we need (LB, ST)

Maybe with an option to buy at the end of the season? {Ed009's Note - I can't think of any off the top of my head, and am not sure that it is the right option for us. If there is an option to buy clause it is because the club want rid of the player but he is not wanted by anyone on a permanent basis.}

25 Jul 2011 17:32:53
Carra
Soto
Skrtel
Agger
Kelly
Wilson

6 CBs, 3 of which could be considered key players (Carra, Skrtel, Agger)

Carra has at least one more good season in him, Agger and Skrtel have, IMO, at least 4 good seasons left in them.

Soto is despensible but is good back up.

Kelly and Wilson are future stars.

So someone tell me why we need a new CB?

I understand we need to sell before we can buy and we need to cut our wage bill so let's focus on getting rid of the players who really can be let go; Degan, Joavnovic, El Zhar and Poulsen.

I hope we don't sell Cole, Maxi, Meireles, Aqua, Insua and N'gog. As I believe although they are not Key players, they can still push for competition.

I'd just like to see us sign a left back and a striker and then, if there's money, another winger.

Liverpool deny Gerrard setback
Harry Harris, ESPNsoccernet
July 24, 2011

Liverpool have moved to quell reports that Steven Gerrard could be set to miss up to the first two months of the season, after claims that his groin injury is worse than first thought.

A Sunday newspaper had written that the club were braced for the fact they will have to start the new Premier League campaign without their skipper after complications arose in the recovery from his current injury.

Such a layoff would also force him to miss England's international friendly with Netherlands on August 10 and struggle to be fit for the Euro 2012 qualifier with Wales on September 6, but the Reds are adamant the midfielder has not suffered any sort of setback.

"Steven Gerrard's rehabilitation is progressing as planned, " the club told ESPNsoccernet.

Gerrard, 31, was not with the club on their recent tour of Asia as he continued his recovery on Merseyside.
___________________________________

So there you go, Gerrard's injury is progressing as planned. As usual the media write rubbish to get everyone into a panic so now we can all relax with regards to Stevie G. He will be back better than ever when he returns to 1st team action

Hi eds
Was wondering if you could update us on the outs so far this summer. Sometimes kids leave and we bever know - just from reserve level up - for example has Darby went on loan again ?
Also anything interesting happening in the club that no one has asked you about and therefore no need to respond too ? Contracts ? Etc etc
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I shall explain again, we are simply not sat here with nothing to do except write ad hoc summaries of what has been going on. We do not have the time. If there is anything of note happening it will be mentioned rather than awaiting a post asking about it - an example being teh various posts I provided about Aquilani last week and over the weekend. You need to keep up with other posts - perhaps a visit to the official web suit will be worthwhile in your quest for knowledge, but we do not have the time to do the work for you. Sorry.}

we don't need backup striker ? we have kuyt plus if KK doesn't wanna have 2 strikers 4-4-1-1 with gerrard behind the striker with adam & henderson behind and kuyt and downing on wings for the 4-4-2 carrol, suarez, downing, gerrard, adam & kuyt simple

That reply shows what a f***in novice you are, just by sayin he's no good in air proves you know f*** all, and another keyboard warrior who wont sign off. You know nothing, on valid arguement just a proper comment to make you look like either Scum fan, or just really hasn't a clue and i mean a f***in clue not just about Carroll but football in general. I'll be humble enough to say i was wrong, he's s**te, but i know i wont have to. After he's scored over 20 goals you'll prob start signing your name saying what a great season he's had. Hi Eds,

Quick question,

How could we have bought Honda in Jan for 12 mill but now his price has nearly doubled, and also he keeps saying he wants to play in Spain or Italy, so I dont understand how we could have got him?

Cheers
John Wigan {Ed002's Note - There are many players at clubs such as Colchester United that would like to play in Italy or Spain - if the opportunity arises - which it hasn't. It is no different for Honda. In January he was available and there was no interest. He says he wishes to go to Italy or Spain - but no interest.}

Cozzinov, Irish Rover, myself and others who i've left out sorry if i have. Are really spending to much time defending Big Andy and we shouldn't need to. I'll repeat that the posters who never saw Carroll when he was fully fit for Newcastle was unplayable. Broken record time again but those who really know anything about football, will know that he can and has dominated some of the top centre centre halves in the Prem no more so then who i rate as the best in Vincent Kompany. Couldn't get near him in the only game Big Andy was fully fit. He scored against 3 out of the top of the top 4 sides in the Prem, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City, not sure against Scum but i dont think so. Plus the way he dominated against us, and i mean dominated. He had one of the best England debut's in a losing England cause against France were everyone and i mean everyone got made to look silly at times the way France passed around England, chasing shadows is an expression springs to mind. Only Andy Carroll came out of that game with any credit. Its ignoranous posters who usually dont sign their name that dont seem but have a defo selective memory issue. Do some research before coming out with f***in ridiculous comments about the Big Fella. Watch some games instead of a few subs apps when he wasn't fully fit, before making a complete load of biased s**te opinions or posts about not just Big Andy. Like i said sorry if i've missed anyone out who's posted supporting him and Ed009 who's a massive fan i know as well. Disgusted that a young man, that wanted to join us, with more potential to be a great player then any other player in the Prem is getting the abuse he is off his off so called fans, its bulls**t and shamefull. I dont think we should worry about Ngog coming off the bench this season. I expect that he will be sold and we will have carroll suarez and kuyt fighting it out for a first team place. The likes of Morgan, pacheco (if not sold) will back them up with Cole, gerrard, merieles (againif not sold) n downing playing off one if the other 2 are not available.

We have plenty of CB's and probably wont buy one unless we sell someone or 1 of out future targets is available for cheap. Lots of youngsters to step up if needed.

I think we need a left back to finish of our summer spending. Get rid of deadwood (jova, poulsen, Ngog, Aqua, Degen, insua etc).

GK:Pepe/Doni (who is poor btw - Lucky Pepe never injured)
RB: Johnson, Flanno, Kelly
LB: Aureilio, Robinson, Johnson & Flanno
CB: Carra, Skrtel, Agger, Greek, Wilson, Kelly
RM: Kuyt, Maxi, Henderson, Cole
LM: Downing, Maxi, Cole, Aureilio
CM: Gerrard, Adam, Lucas, Merieles, Spearing, Shelvey
S: Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt

Bench is likely to be from: Doni, Aureilio, Flanno, Kelly, Skrtel, The Greek, Merieles, Spearing, Shelvey, Henderson, Cole, Maxi, Kuyt (depending on injuries and bans etc).

Lots of youngsters to support these players from U-18's and reserves.

Just got Mancini's argument with Balotelli translated:

Mancini: Did you see that Did you see that He is trying to steal the limelight

Mancini: Right you [he points] get up .Pratt what is his name?

David Platt: James Milner, Boss.

Mancini: Miller hurry up .[Puts his arm around Milner and talks right into his ear] Right Miller if I point here you look here okay, if I point here you look here. Now no stealing the limelight, understand

Milner: [Jogs off] Ponce

Balotelli: Why you take me off for?

Mancini: How many times I got to tell you, no-one steals the limelight [he gets up]. This club is about MANCINI There is room for only one drama queen at this club and that is ME Now go down there and sit at the naughty end of the bench.

Balotelli: [Sits down] It was only a trick.

Mancini: [Walk's back to his seat] How do I look

David Platt: Good, Boss.

I see that an ex-Liverpool youngster is set to join Fulham. It seems like Pajtim Kasami from Palermo will be plying his trade in the Premiership next year and the fee mentioned is £3.5million-is that true? is this another young one weve let slip? If anybody has seen him play please can they give their take on it.

Ed I'm just wondering who all are we looking to get rid of roughly. At the minute it looks like aqua is the only one on his way out? Other people who we don't want/need like poulsen are refusing to leave as they appear to be happy not playing but gettin a fat cheque weekly. And can u briefly explain to me how the club 'releases' players? Surely if people aren't being bought by other clubs, we may have to cut our loses just to shorten the wage bill? {Ed002's Note - You really need to read the other posts. seriously why would we buy a centre back when we have cara.agger.skrtle.kelly.greek.wilson.plus other young players pushing for a place kelly robbo and flanno all seem top quality so why not try furthur young players in an emergency after those 6 have been tried first. spend money on back up striker so when carrol is out injured we have more than dirk kuyt to fill in the man is hardly prolific in front of goal

Hi ED

Could you please give us run down with regards to the deadwood at Liverpool. Who we have offers for, who we still trying to sell and who we will release, etc.

Thanks

Aquilani has had a few good games in pre season against simply awful teams and everyone thinks he's one of our best players all of a sudden, he is decent but doesn't want to play in England, let him go

Gary Cahill has a price of £17m, it's in his contract and I think everyone knows that Bolton have no qualms about accepting such an offer if it comes in. I personally don't think he is worth such a fee, I would value him in the same price range as Scott Dann (the £10-12m region) but some of the £17m fee could be offset if Bolton's interest in David N'Gog is concrete.

Maybe the board would prefer a move for Cahill if N'Gog went the other way, as it means moving on a "unwanted player", where as a move for Dann would still leave us with N'Gog.

In my opinion, I don't think we will see too much incoming activity until the likes of Aquilani, Jovanovic, Poulsen etc are off the wage bill to free up funds.

Some fans are never happy, after having TH and GG as owners, we should be happy the owners are putting the money into the club. Yeah we may of overpayed a bit, but Kenny got his main targets. Everyone who said Henderson, Downing and Carroll anrt good enough after the Hull game need to get a grip. The game was nothing more than a warm up for the season, a game to get the players fit, the 3 of them have played 45 minutes at least give them a few weeks to get used to playing with each other. Also people saying we should of gone for players abroad instead, It can take months for a player to settle into a new league, that is time we dont have, we cant have another start to the season like last year. You cant just get 2 players from spain 1 from Germany and 1 from Turkey and expect them to settle and get used to the style of play in the premier league in the space of a few weeks. Look at Veron, Shevchenko, Deco, dzeko and Robinho. Because we needed about 5 players it would of been a huge risk to get 4 of the 5 from abroad, if only 1 of the 4 would of settled quickly at christmas we would of found ourselves in about the same position we were in last year. Kenny has gone for proven premier league experience, the best players available to us in England. With the squad looking stronger he can now start to look at players abroad to can add some flair to the team and with enough good players that are capable of playing in the premier league they will have the time to settle into the team.

Hi Guys, could someone please clarify for me why we are possibly letting Aquilani go on loan AGAIN. surely we should either find a club who is willing to buy him or keep him as backup for Gerrard. what will happen once this loan runs out and they decide they dont want to buy him. how many years does he have left on his contract i think its 3 years. im worrying we are going to lose him really cheaply. surely if we cant sell him now keep him, his value will increase if he has a good season in the premiership. Im sure if we leave it towards the end of the italian club will come in with a good cash offer. Palermo will have some money available once they sell Pastore. I just think it is a waste sending him on loan again, these Italian clubs are taking the piss out of us. he is a proven international player and should be in demand. any clarification on this would be appreciated.

jkjk23 {Ed009's Note - the reason is that this time, Fiorentina will almost certainly buy the player. They are very keen and they need him to replace their outgoing captain. I do not think you should worry about Aquilani returning.}

Hi Ed just wondering what players you think are most likely to join us? {Ed002's Note - A CB, possibly a LB, possibly a striker, perhaps a midfield player. Plenty of names have been discussed. It is impossible to say which are most likely to arrive.}

Liverpool should look to bring in another striker because Andy Carroll is not the answer this lad will be the biggest waste of money in the clubs history

Just a thought:

Lots of people are calling for a new CB & a LB.... Why not approach Borussia Dortmund and make a double offer for Mats Hummels & Marcel Schmelzer? They are both young, extremely good players who would/could walk straight into our first team.

They know each other well so moving clubs together might limit the adjusting process for them. They also have a good understanding together so fitting into our team may become easier.

Now I know people are going to say 'we ain't got CL football to offer them' but how far do you see Dortmund realistically going in the CL?

Furthermore Dortmund have had some serious financial problems and I think a good offer for the pair would be hard for the board to turn down. I am not saying there is any interest from Liverpool but it could work out to be a good piece of business if there were.

I think our number 15 shirt which no one has at this minute will be worn by Athletico madrids current number 15 Diego Godin. The shirt has been kept free ed.If he joins us, it will be interesting if he his given the 15 shirt.Do you think he his coming Ed? I have heard he is our number 1 centre back target. But I respect your opinion has your information his spot on. {Ed002's Note - There is a chance that there is interest in Godin but no chance that Liverpool are reserving shirts for players.}

LFC need to open their eyes bigger than ever as they can see that their supporter from the Far East much much carzy compare to the one in the States.
Some people take leaves and camping near by team hotel. There r couple of hundred million supporters from Asia.
They need to visit every year to these part of the world as what China & Malaysia people just showed them during Asia Tour 2011. We r the Best Supported Team in these region period...MU who?

We can get all the players that we want when there is enough money from the new stadium and playing as the English champion next season...
The most important thing is at the moment is the status of the current stadium. Pls make up ur mind Mr. Henry... so we can have the biggest arena in England to call home for the best team in England...18+5 better than 19+3.

AQUAMAN ..9 sub 1 goal 6 assists First season. Now thats got to show you this quality.

I think Aquaman will prob the best player liverpool have ever had that has never played two back to back games in the premiership. Shocking.

If it was me, i would keep him here at anfield for half a season. Then let Fiorentina have him

He owes the fans, the club something. We put up with his injuries, never gave him abuse on the pitch, plus he is on inflated wages.

We paid 20million for someone who was injured.

Very disappointed, at the moment liverpool can't buy a player of his quality. They don't want to come

Double shocker.

Ed some facts about our gem mr.suraez.he was spotted by scouts under rafa last to last season.then kenny was told to have a look at him.during that time rafa was sacked.kenny was his big fan but roy got the job and then in summer last year we did not have any funds to buy him.so when kenny become manager and in jan we had funds choice was between benzima and luis.fate was that he was meant for liverpool kenny told camolli to get him.comolli wanted benzima but madrid did not allow.
So it was kenny and fate that brought us this little jem.
And I am saying it now he will replace villa at barcelona next season.
He is pure class.

Just had a look on and none other then Joey Barton is 2/1 fav to join Scum and dont check your calenders it aint April 1st. Am truly shocked in a good way. Scott Dann has drifted from 4's to 6/1 and if their ever was a value bet must be Gary Cahill 25/1 to join us. Surely centre half is a priorty position and one should be our next signing. I know we have to get players off the wage bill but surley the 3 outfield players we've already signed we would've gone after if we'd have signed Jones who would've cost 18 to 20 mil so whats the hold up with signing a centre half, i'd be happy with any of the above 2 and just seen on sly sports N'Gog could be on his way to Bolton, be nice if Cahill was part of the conversation if we have been speaking with Bolton. It also said Aqualani looks set to seal his move to Fiorentina as well. Hope we see a centre half come in next though, pronto. Jonson6

I have just been looking through the squad on the official site. Ignoring the U/21 players (of which at least 5 will be regular squad/first team members), we only have a 22-man squad with 8 home-grown and 14 foreign. Thi sleaves 3 places for players over 21 as at 1st Jan 2011.

I know we are trying to offload dead wood to lower the inflated wage bill before we go buying more players, but if we can not offload them as we get close to the end of the window, I wouldnt be surprised to see Kenny go in and try to buy players for our weakest positions (Defense) regardless of if the dead wood have been shipped out or not - then try to offload them in January, and take the hit on paying half a season's wages for unwanted players.

I believe the owners are serious in their top four assault, and will not risk it just because of one or two additional players on the wage bill.

So regardless of who goes out, I think we will see a couple of more signings before the window clioses.

I can't keep up with whats going on at our academy. Things are happening so fast. Pep Guardiola said its as good as Barca's. 3 strikers mentioned tbis week. Marco Bueno, an Ivorian/African & an American/Bulgarian. Would someone be kind enough to make a list of our most promising youngsters who may get a few games for the first team in the next year or so.

Doesn't look like the powers that be dont like giving Uraguay players the top scorer of the tourney. In the last World Cup Forlan even though when he scored the same number of goals as Muller they gave it Muller due to assists, a load of bollacks at the time shoulda shared it, want one for assists, make a f***in award for it. Now to OUR VERY OWN, {love saying it}Luis gets stung by a hatrick that was scored in the least needed and important game of the tourney in a 3rd and 4th choice playoff. Personal changes are made, every one just goes hell for leather and a guy who scored crucial goals gets stung by a hatrick in a meaningless game. At least he got the official player of the tourney, which was well deserved Luis, he was by far the best player causing problems and mayhem in everygame. Its a better award to win anyway but the triple crown would've been nice, but you'll have to settle for only the double, but suppose i'm getting greedy now. I also understand how getting kicked from pillar to f***in post can make you go to that place no one wants to go but only for a split second. Thought he kept his temper as in check as could for the constant filthy amount of tackles and abuse he took. Well deserved and i'm sure 99.9%of of Liverpool fans are so happy for your success , were all very proud of you, your're a credit to Liverpool FC . Jonson6

The praise for suarez tonight is because he is a lfc player and playing in a major cup final, and playing well>Im sure the same would be said of any lfc player in the same sitaution> it is no reflection on any other players abilities. We support them all

That's right, the same was said of Lucas throughout the Copa America, well until his crybaby team-mates tuckered out on him. So congrats to them both for having strong tournaments, i just can't understand why Luis isn't at all tired, he should be knackered after the year he's had adjusting to a new league then the pressure of being in what is in my opinion one of the best international teams on the planet now.

Evening.

Does anybody feel that we are staking a hell of a lot on Andy Carroll being fit and on form given the signings we have made? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Downing and Henderson were both signed primarily for their ability to get balls into the box for Carroll to attack. What happens if Carroll is not on form? Suarez (and Ngog) are not players who have any aerial ability to speak of and I'm not sure what Downing has to offer other than a ball in the box. Henderson has a good "engine" but Suarez seems to work well when he has another forward making intelligent runs with him such as Forlan and Kuyt (ironically, he played better for us without Carroll than with, but thats my opinion.)

Have we staked too much on one player?

I'd say Suarez is worth quite and a mean guite a lot more then 5 mil more then Pastore. With the players available out their, and looking at prices for Kaka and Ronaldo, he's trebled in value at least i.m.o.totally unique player. Somebody mentioned the film about the West Indies fast bowling attack in their prime called Fire in Babylon, which unfortunaltey i've yet to see. Just thinking back to watching that battery of fast bowlers reminds me of the mayhem Suarez cause's on the pitch. He's like a Joel Garner yorker, or a Michael Holding bouncer, get out of his way when its coming at you, its f***in lethal. Big respect to Commoli who got him here, people might not have been happy with the opening bid like me which was a desirory offer, but he got with the programme and got him here to our great club, when he had other clubs he could have gone to. Words cant describe what K.K means to all of us Liverpool fans, but you cant give him all the credit for getting Suarez but shred Commoli for paying 35 mil for Big Andy, although too much paid yes, top player already going to get even better defo. The most most unplayable and lethal partnership in the Prem by far. Where's Sydney's gloat now, Sydney were are you you follow us closer then your own club. Oh your used to see him rip the s**t out of your team before so your its not come as any suprise to ya super ted. Jonson6
