Ed bit of a random one perhaps but my mate who knows sweet sod all about football keeps mentioning lfc are scouting some shirler or schurler, some german forward i think you got owt on him? {Ed002's Note - I think your friend Shirley is really cute.}

Thank you " Don't call me Shirley" Airplane

I think he means Andre Schurrle of Bayer Leverkusen. I watched him the other day for the first time against Chelsea and I thought he was very impressive actually. He was ill so didn't start the match but he came on when they were 1-0 down and I thought he changed the match and swung the momentum Bayer Leverkusen's way. Only time I've ever seen him though so not enough to formulate an actual opinion on him.
KiwiRed

Andre Shurrle. Very good young forward. He may not be available this jan, though, since leverkusen have qualified for the next round of CL.

Eds where do you see LFC finishing this season? If it was to be say, a fairly injury free season? Do you think 4th is an actual target with our current squad? Or is there areas you would personally change? {Ed002's Note - I have made this clear repeatedly. I see Liverpool in the mix for fourth certainly. Most fans want most of the players and the manager to leave.}

You mean most of the so called fans on this site?

CITY FANS
i have noticed that city still cant fill there ground! if they cant do so now they never will,
there was only 1,000 over in napoli for that champions league game,
i know for a fact that if L.F.C had the bad times city have had, third division days ect and sharing a city with the most successful team of recent times then the arab prince rides in with his massive wallet and buys every one they want go top of the league unbeaten and play in the CL imagine what anfield would be like, there would of been 15 thousand over in napoli and tickets would be like gold dust, thats how i KNOW we are SPECIAL, even though we dont spend money like there is no tomorrow, god bless all the redmen, bob paisleys skids

You can't buy class it seems.

MIKEY

Know what you mean, I'm a spurs fan & had to laugh when the woolwich wonders took 4,000 to barcelona, chelsea took 1,500 to genk, we took 12,000 to milan and 10,000 to madrid

It seems fans of certain teams take Europe for granted every year. So Spurs fans good on you, enjoy!

STOP CARROLL BASHING

Totally agree with the lad who said to knock off the Carroll bashing. At this time of year it seems mental to be Carroll bashing. I love sticking on my Val Doonican cardigan and opening the front door to the strains of silent night the cold air biting at my nose,then returning to the crackling log fire in the drawing room and sipping a warm mulled wine.

So lay off the Carroll signers!
If you wanna gripe about something try that Geordie waste of space Andy Carol!

VPL

Lol.
The Real KB

YE that was a fantastic joke til you f@@ked up the punchline, think you were looking to say lay off Carroll SINGERS. Hope you play and score a hat-trick on sunday Andy lad and shut nuggets like this clown up.

Waro

I hit agree cause you used Val Doonigan's cardigan in a Liverpool post! F@#king classic! Had me in stitches! The kids on here probably think he plays for Ajax! haha!

Eds, what are the chances of us signing Val Doonican in January? You know,out of ten. There could be a chance with Suarez's Ajax connection and I know for a fact (reliable sauce), that Luis knows all the words to 'Paddy McGinty's Goat'.
If there's no chance, what about his cardigan? {Ed002's Note - I hvae no idea what you are talking about, but ED007 had a thing with Paddy McGinty's goat (and tongues).}

Expect a very similar team to play City, but a different one to play against Chelsea.

City:

Reina

Johnson - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique

Henderson - Lucas - Adam

Bellamy - Suarez - Maxi

Chelsea:

Reina

Kelly - Carra - Skrtel/Agger - Aurelio

Kuyt - Henderson - Lucas - Downing

Bellamy/Suarez - Carroll

Renegadered

Coates is a sure shot starter against chelsea, so is spearing. They have played in all the carling cup matches.

City:

Reina
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Kuyt-Henderson-Lucas-Adam-Bellamy
Suarez

Chelsea:

Reina
Kelly-Carragher-Coates-Robinson

Guys help me find some words to the following
dexy's midnight runners for Sunday

Cheers

Da da da
Dada da da da (Come on Louis)
Da da da
Dada dada da dada dada da

Poor old El nino
sitting sad upon a wooden bench
with a pocket full of money

………………………………………….. dad a dad a da
Your good your so good
Loius we love you more than ever da dada da
Toora loora torra loo rye aye
And we can sing this song forever

Come on Louis, Oh I swear Oh Louis
At this moment, you mean everything
With you in that Red, Putting United to Bed
You so dirty
Ah come on Louis

Come on Eileen is one of the songs I hate the most. It's up there with 'girls just wanna have fun' and anything by UB40 for me.

JRG

First UB40 album was class JRG. "Signing On". The album cover was the old DHSS Dole Claim form.
Happy memories for me !
Well, apart from being on the nat king cole for a year.
The Real KB

Isn't 'UB40' what used to written at the top of the old dole form?

Sorry mate I cannot stand that blokes whiney voice and Red Red wine has to be one of the worst songs ever. I know I am in a minority - I have loads of friends and family who love them.

JRG

It was mate yes, unemployment benefit form 40.
The first album was their own numbers (King ; Tyler etc). One in Ten, was one of the singles. They turned into a reggae cover band though.
The Real KB

Just been youtubing this. It's even better than I first thought - Don't Let It Pass You By ; Food For Thought. Social commentaries when there was 3 million unemployed.
Ed002 might remember these, or perhaps he was still listening to Jefferson Airplane then ? Lol.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - I remeber the Airplane well, but remain a Deadhead.}

Gotta agree with ya tonight Jrg.a dreadful band,up there with simply red and the eagles as bands I expect to hear in hell.Yosser

Hey ed001, you're not John Maguire are you ?
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - er nope.}

Thought not. Lol.

The Real KB {Ed001's Note - I wasn't born in Bootle, I am not old enough to have been born at home, unlike yourself ;o). First births are always in the hospitals nowadays KB, obviously it has been a while for you, your kids are picking up pensions....}

Lol. Or maybe not lol..?

The above mentioned book is a very good read for all Reds out there by the way. The tale of the train trip to Rome in 1977 is brilliant and funny as.
Ed001..John Maguire's bit on Istanbul is good too.
Make a good Christmas pressie if you haven't got it.
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - I will have to get it, I don't think I have read it yet, that I know of anyway.}

Real KB mate, you'd think you were John Maguire plugging your own book on the site!

Cuchulainn's Hounds {Ed001's Note - it's funny, I did wonder that myself! But then I realised that his posts have yet to show any sign of an ability to write ;o)}

Ha !
Nah, it's ed001 all the way. Don't let him fool you. It's all there. Bootle, lack of hair, the age. I'm telling you. Lol.

I miss watching the class and swager of our captain Stevie Gerrard - the touches of brillance, the cross field passes, the precision through balls, the one-twos, the surging runs, the inswingers, the slide tackles, the pens, the pile drivers, the fee kicks, the late winners, and the effervescent motivation his presence instills in every fellow player on the pitch and unfading hope in every red fan in the stand. Take a bow son.

Amen . .. .

Weve missed that for 3 seasons though unfortunately. he was starting to look good again recently....

"Weve missed that for 3 seasons though"

Very unfair .. Boooooooooooooo

We all miss him but we are starting to look like the team aren't. that's the true mark of how far kenny has already taken the team. irreplaceable and untouchable for a decade, but now just a very important cog trying to get his fitness back.

I remember it all so well. Jumpers for goalposts, the crisp autumn air, the worn old ball, the damp green turf under your boots, the smell of sweaty leather jockstraps.
Isn't it?

B/S we'ave missed it for 3 seasons

Maybe you have fortunately most others don't need eye correction

Got a quick question for the Ed's.... With business at Liverpool now being kept 'inhouse' and finding things out becoming increasingly difficult is there a possibility you could be wrong on the amount of money being given to strengthen the squad in Jan? I trust every Ed on here as your all generally spot on but i was just wondering if FSG were keeping there cards close to their chests and were infact planning to 'splash out' again? Cheers! {Ed001's Note - if it were just my sources, yes, I would agree there is every chance they have got it wrong. They are involved in the football side, not the business side. But Ed002's sources are involved at a much higher level.}

I don't half wish the Carroll-bashers would give it a bloody rest for a while.

Put yourself in his place. Imagine how you'd feel if you were 21 and you started a high-pressure new job in a new town away from all your family and friends?
Imagine if they wanted to you to work in a totally different way to what you knew- and while you were trying to learn the job their way, you had half the people of the town on your back saying you were rubbish?

How would you feel?
Yes, they get a lot of money, but knowing he's making 70 grand a week is not going to make a man play football any better in the heat of the game- but having loyal support behind him might help.

How would you feel if you were stepping out into an incredibly tough and competitive sporting contest every week, and you knew that half the people in your crowd had been saying you were rubbish?

Supporting a club is about loyalty as much as anything else- when they step out onto the pitch, the players need to know that we're behind them, especially Andy at this point.
How can we expect loyalty from players, and to take the club to their hearts, if we aren't loyal to them?

If anything, we were too loyal to Torres- he was basically poor for a whole season, and we all went on making excuses for him right until he left.
All I'm saying is that Carroll deserves the same kind of chance as we all gave to Torres- he's even younger, and he's still adapting his game, so lets get off his back, stop the public negativity, and give the lad a proper chance for the rest of the season.

I hope to God the poor lad doesn't read this website- who could blame him for wanting to get the hell out, if he saw what some hasty people were saying about him?
He took a chance on joining this club, just as much as we took a chance on taking him on- so let's give him the sort of patience that we showed Fernando in his last season.

tc

I am in absolute agreement with you on this.

Your words could not be truer.

LiverBird

My thoughts exactly, the lad will come through, if we support him.

Too true, he will prove a lot of people wrong.

Matty P

Thank you tc

Caroll is just not good enough sorry ..I think he will leave in January.

I agree about Andy Carroll. Mario Gomez was bought for 35m by Bayern Munich and was terrible in his first season. he went through the same fan ridicule and abuse, and was very nearly sold. He wasn't and now he's a goal machine for Bayern. Both Huigian and Benzema were poor in their first season's for Real, but now they're both leathal. Ronaldo took two full season's to bed into the scum. Andy has all the physical attributes to be a world class striker. You don't get capped and score for the full international England team at the tender age of 21, unless your a bit special. Give the lad a chance.

If we paid £6 million for him for some mad reason the same people would probably be ok with him and give him a chance. The fee IS NOT HIS FAULT! We just need to let him be and see how he pans out, slaggin the lad of wont make him play any better. Not sure about the Torres comparison though jc, we were loyal to him because at the time he had earned it with the way he performed in his first two seasons, if Torres was still here playing poorly and the same people were on here slaggin him off you would quite rightly defend him against critisism jc. So ad keep that seperate from the Carroll argument. Can't see it but I hope people just get off his back!

Waro

Post of the day tc, absolutely brilliant mate. Some fans on here are an absolute disgrace, if I were him and read this website I swear I may cry. To read that basically some supporters hate him is ridiculous, it would too much to take for me and I believe he has shown great mental strength and courage to continue on like he has. Anyway, it doesn't matter what any fans think of him, Kenny Dalglish KNOWS he is good enough and I'm sure that Kenny is way better at judging talent than anyone on here.
KiwiRed

People are still whinging about the price tag? Jheez, grow up.

From our point of view all we need to worry about money wise is the tickets, the rest is up to the people in charge and out of our hands. They aren't stupid and you nor I wouldn't know any better then they do. If you like, consider it: Torres = £15m, if Carroll = £0. This would mean Bellamy = Carroll. Do we ever bitch about Bellamy? No? This isn't bad for a mere shadow-of-the-player-Torres was for us, we got his best use. And in return we get a young lad with tonnes of potential to be one of England's best strikers for years. And that isn't biased, cold facts, he is naturally gifted. Never mind what else happens to the wallets of Chelsea and Newcastle, those are the only numbers that affect us. Maybe that will ease your mind.

If you don't support players through the tough times, there's no point supporting them through the good. Otherwise we wouldn't be supporters, would we? So either get behind him or get lost! Do you know how hard it is to get a ticket? There's never a spare seat at the kop, always sold out, so you are privileged to be part of the family, and there is no room for such negativity here.

Jacob red forever.

Carroll is limited time nor anthing else won't change him much

Personally, I could not believe we got him, even for the price we paid. However, before we bought him I often thought he would be great for us and I still think he will be. Never beleived Newcastle would let him go though - be like us selling Owen at 18. Often he is unplayable and Kenny will get the best out of him the same as he did with Shearer. Have patience and support the guy....he could be banging them in for us for 10years!

are the any tottenham players in the epl top ten ?

Yup, the whole team.

25 Nov 2011 17:56:54
I seen some posts about the team on sunday. Whats wrong with keeping a winning team and let the players who were out last week earn there places in the carling cup. I like the hard work of kuyt and maxi but both have goals in them and the pace of bellamy with the skill of suarez. It seems a really balanced combination and i would keep the same team.

Mighty reds

Its just that its differant type of team... Chelsea had been terrible defensivley so we went with a pass and move team to harrass them however I don't see us out pass and moving City so I would personaly change it to be more based around Carroll and hope he could nod in a winnner.

Theres no pressure on us to win this game and i think that will play to our benfit -McMenemy

Theres pressure for us to win every game...

If england can beat spain i dont see why we cant beat city

MJ

Citys weak point is the back 4, not saying there crap just not as good as there mid and attack, so keeping the same team and putting pressure on it will stop them gallaping forward. mattyf

Mattyf,

I don't think their back 4 are weak. You could argue that Richards has been the most impressive RB so far in the league this season. Kompany and lescott are decent but there is a way to attack them. They are susceptible to quick little triangles played by them. Clichy is a defensive liability on the left. Both full backs play high up the pitch hence they play 2 DM's Toure with Barry sweeping right on front of the back 2. You could argue that they play a 2-3-2-3-1. They rarely play wide players but silva and Nasri play wide enough then cut in with give and go to Aguero and space to the overlapping FB's.

I would play them man to man on Nasri and Silva. Take them away and I don't see them being creative as a team. I'd love to see us go 3-5-2-1 for this one with Kelly shadowing Nasri and Enrique on Silva. Both have the speed, and a size advantage and both are tough in the tackle. Belamy wide left, Kuyt wide right will nullify their FB's, Maxi in the hole with Luis up top. KK and Clarkey will scheme something for them this I'm sure. I think we can take them. We will need to absorb some of their pressure at times but Napoli did this and caught the on the counter attack. We are at home and I feel good about this game.

Chi-Paul

I doubt citeh will play both silva n nasri. It will be more likely milner n silva on the wings. We have to target the left flank. Clichy is terrible defensively.

Hey Ed, regarding Junior Hoilett, should he decide not to sign a new contract-what sort of fee will Blackburn be looking for in January?

Thanks

So Brad Pitt is an LFC fan, does that mean his missus is up for `playing away`I`ll post my phone number Ange... :)

Matty P {Ed001's Note - he is a fan because of her, she is the red, it is due to her son getting sick during filming for Tomb Raider and his life was saved at Alder Hey. She used to do a lot of charity work for the hospital afterwards, I have no idea if she still does though.}

Yes I am a Red. I think now is a good time to reveal that my true identity is really Brad Pitt. Been posting on here for a while, between movies.
But you guys can still call me KB.

Hi Eds,
I've seen quite a few posts about Kaka & while I think a transfer would be out of the question due to our lack of Champions League football for this season & his high wages & probable high transfer fee for a player of his age, would a loan for the remainder of the season be feasable do you think, it would give the player a chance to regain some form & fitness & either play his way back into Madrids plans or into the shop window & also it would take a bit of pressure off us trying to rush Gerrard back & asses his situation properly instead of panic buying. Do you think loans may be the way to go in January, give ourselves a bit of a boost for the Champions League places & possibly a cup then re-asses in the summer, I am sure there are a few other big names out there who may possibly be available on a six month deal if they are not getting regular football. Also maybe send Big Andy Carroll out on loan to get him some much needed fitness & confidence, he is still only a young lad & if we could get someone coming in for six months who is proven & can hit the ground running & Carroll can have a good six months somewhere else & return full of confidence it can surely only be a good thing for his future....what you think guys....keep up the fantastic work eds! {Ed001's Note - no, I think a loan is not a good idea for our long term future. We then have to pay a big wage, give a player a chance to get fitness and form back and then he returns to them at the end of the season. Meanwhile, he is keeping one of our players out of the team who might just get their own form going. Add that to the fact that Kaka has always relied on having a quick burst of speed to create space, that burst of speed has gone since his injury, and you have a bad idea in my opinion.}

Isnt part of his contract (where ever he goes) that the team also has to sign his brother? Or is that just a myth? I'm sure I heard it somewhere though!

Myk

We have our own players to develop why bother with madrids rejects? Wasn't that long ago we were tearing them apart in Europe and now you wanna loan there strugling stars? Especially as he would bring nothing to the team anymore anyway.

How is pato worth 40 mil when we are only asking 4 mil for aqualani and pato isn't in the team but aqua man is?!!

Think we got ripped off on the original price, as well as the sell on price. Unfortunately a bad bit of business all round, worse so than Robbie Keane. Sad really!

25 Nov 2011 16:47:17
hy guys!! what a manager we have!! he is fantastic especially with the press!! i think he makes them quiet in many case!! just love the way he deal with press our kk!! and for the team against man city i would only chane kyut for downing!! i think downing now will prove what quality he is! hendo will certainly come good! my only concern is carroll! i never liked him as player either at new or lfc and will never whether he scores or not!! i think if he goes on this miserable form till next summer we must move on!! hope we would have a win at home on sunday! lets teach mancini and mancity that glory and respect couldn't be brought by money!! an di honestly appreciate the hard work our eds put here!

See your a real supporter eh. Spouting s**te like that about
Carroll who is by all intents and purpose a one of our player's. So even if he starts banging them in for fun you'll still rip on the guy. Can understand fan's getting frustrated with his lack of goals but your saying f*** him what ever he does. What a mug of a poster,wouldn't call you a supporter spouting s**te like that. Jonson

Aye, Carroll again. Well according to the LFC website Hazard's going to be made available for £50m. Excellent! Now we can pay up front for him and take a HUGE leap towards the much craved instant success! A simple swap for Carroll and £15 up front should do it, glad Joe Cole put in a good word for us. Good stuff, happy days.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Is there such a thing as sarcastic glue? I couldn't plaster that last post any more with it. As long as Carroll's wearing Liverpool colours I'll support him, he was bought for the long term investment and not as an overnight success. Joe Cole a football agent now? Aw man...

hy ed! great site!! just want to know who do you think will be better replacement for lfc of sg? sissiko/honda/erickson? i would be happy with any of this player and a good ram!! keep it up! {Ed002's Note - Sissoko.}

You may have a point about Sissoko, but if you're sure you need a good ram, you probably need to look on a different sort of website.

Hi Ed, with all the hype again about transfer market do you think king kenny would consider putting glen johnson on the right wing(great going forward) we have ready made good full backs and put the extra money saved on winger on another centre forward {Ed002's Note - I suspect using him as a wing back would make everyone happy. It won't impact whether or not a player comes in in January.}

Waking up on Sunday, the toaster on and the kettle boiled. Brew, Breakie and sky sports news on the go, discussing the footy with me old man (agreeing to disagree) and listening what the pundits have to say. 12 o'clock hits, off to the local pub for a couple of cheeky pints, jump on the mini bus from North Wales and why not a bottle of beer?..... or 10. Hour before kick off, its got to be chips and curry sauce with the smell of pies, cigarettes and stale ale lingering the streets of Liverpool. Sandern for a quick one before heading to the ground only to be greeted by 45,000 scarfs in the air and you'll never walk alone being belted across the stadium. Liverpool in voice, the stadium bouncing to the Luis Suarez song, the fields of Anfield road and paying tribute to our King. What ever the score may be, we aplaud our lads we send them off with you'll never walk alone and go home with our heads held high.

Now thats why im a Liverpool fan.

Go to the Sandon lad, it's a better alehouse. Never heard of the Sandern?

hey ed, will liverpool make a move for napoli's hamsik in jan? how much is he worth? wont he be an awesome buy? {Ed002's Note - I rather doubt that Liverpool will be making a move for Hamsik in January.}

May I ask any of the Eds to give me their views on Jonjo Shelvey please.

What do you make of him, will he come back in Jan or extend his loan move and do you think he will 'make it' as a Liverpool player? {Ed001's Note - he is likely to extend his loan until the end of the season. I do think he has a great chance of making it with us, just ask any Blackpool fan, they love him right now!}

does anyone else agree we should start with same 11 minus dirka on sunday playing either downin or hendo instead. Dirka was blowing out of his apse early doors last weekend, hence why johnson ended up so far up the pitch doing the work of two players

Nice guy Dirk, but pace of Epl makes him look like a granny with a walker. I have better ball control.

Kuyt is a good little player. Fair enough, he's not a world beater but he gets picked for the DUtch team every game (more or less) and they're some team. I think he's well suited to the pace of the Premier League and is a player who doesn't get his fair do's. I can't think of a player in the whole league who grafts like him.

He is a proper pro who's attitude and work is an example to ANY player. Dirk gets dropped from the team, he doesn't go about spitting his dummy out. He just gets on with it and gives it his all when selected. Wears the shirt with pride. Chips in with the odd goal. Top man in my eyes.

Scott78.

Scott78 is correct.

I dont understand some fans when they slam players that dont work hard.

Kuyt gives 120% in each match but still he is not talented enough.(even though he has been getting selected for Netherlands since 2006). Just goes on to show that many players do not understand the game which they claim to support.

LiverBird

LiverBird. Your opinion about Kuyt is your own pal. I understand the game fine, just have enough respect for a player who gives what Dirk gives to the team.

Plenty more positives than negatives from the fella.

You have to sit back and admire Dalglish's management skills. I have to say i certainly wasn't in favour of having him in the hot seat but that was mainly because i am Rafa's love child, however the ways he conducts himself in the media Rafa really should look and take heed.

We now have a manager who is prepared to take the media on, has the skills to take them on and opposition managers. Supports his players publicly and says all the right things, at the right time.

His comments on the Suarez incident with Evra was bang on the money, you have his handling of the Gerrard injury, statements about the progress of Coates, the young kids and a general warning to any player thinking of moaning publicly.

Dalglish gets respect from everyone within the club. The media approach him differently than they did with Benitez, they're aware he can bite!

No more washing our dirty linen in public. He just keeps repeating what he does; he does for the greater good of the club.

To have this amount of respect in this day and age where hardly anyone in the game respects anyone speaks volumes. The players know he will support them publicly and in return they have to repay him. If they don't, out on their ear they go and they know it.

Just hark back to the United league game last year when Fergie blasted Torres as a diver and...........nothing, no public defence from the manager.

Whether you believe Dalglish is doing a good job or not is immaterial. If he believes he isn't he'll be the first to hold his hand up. He genuinely believes he can do this job and do it well. He knows what is required and critically he knows what is expected.

A lesser man would run a mile and before anyone says anything about his first tenure, don't bother.

I think it's fair to say we can trust Mr Dalglish implicitly. So all these doubters that moan about his decisions really cannot be looking at the bigger picture.

In fact I'll go as far as saying; no other manager in the World knows this club as well as Dalglish does.

With the new owners backing him, the foundations being put in place on the playing side, a new stadium just around the corner, why are we not awash with the feel good factor?

Seriously, as football fortunes go we are on the up, up and away big time.

Somehow on this site you'd think you were at another club experiencing meltdown crisis's every 7 days or so.

Just let the club get on with it and don't hinder the recovery by piling on pressure that isn't needed.

And if the home support is as dire as it was against Swansea then shame on you and burn the money you've just wasted instead.

Or you could go there, sing yourself hoarse and roar the team on and at the same time, give all the fans who unfortunately cannot get to the ground a sense of the fantastic atmosphere that you are making and then let us bang the drum of how brilliant the club, the team, the manager, the fans and the owners are and we'll do it with bells, whistles and knobs on. Supporting everyone together.

Bob the Red

Love the post BOB - I also love this comment from Kenny:

And so to whether Johnson is England's best right-back, Dalglish added: 'At the moment for us he's in the right-back position and that's the only team we want to pick.

'No-one else tries to pick our team so why should we pick theirs (England).

Love the way he puts the reporter in his place, while showing that Liverpool is all he interested in.

JRG

Thank you Bob the Red, best post in ages. what I wanted to say but couldnt come close to your eloqu.....eloqiun.....el.... good way of saying things. In kenny we trust.

Dara D

As usual Bob, a post that says it all! Unfortuantely we live in an era that believes what Talks@@t and Sky News is absolute gospel regardless of whether it's true or not. In simple terms Kenny loves the club and the fans and simply wants what's best for us. It may not be this year or even next but I firmly believe KK will deliver what we want. As he has said repeatedly its a long term project and not a quick win scenario.........TMac

Who ever disagreed this has a cheek. Nice post as always Bob.

Adzii

Great post mate.

First class quality post Bob....

Fantastic post Bob.
King Kenny is a wonderful, intelligent and articulate man. He's confident, proud and passionate about LFC. What a man to have as manager.
"Long Live The King!".
PS Hope he gets the Knighthood soon, then we can call him "Sir King Kenny". Lol!
Shankly's Red Army.

Good one Bob. Bang on that my friend.

He should tell the queen to stick the knighthood up her arse , like any self-respecting person would.

This is a really good and meaningful post.

did you also see his response when asked about the spirit of high profile players not making the starting 11?

Did you see Stewart Downing's face when Glen Johnson scored? here is the picture:

absolutely brilliant response.

Deluded liverpool fans,we are thrashing you guys 8-0,balotelli to score 2,aguero to score 3,silva to score 1 and dzeko to score 2.
Man city for ever

I hate to say it but even the United guys banter is better than that effort!

JRG

Yeah, fifa 12's great isn't?! Dozy b£$&end

You playing on FIFA again ;)

Gaz b

How times have changed lol dont speak to soon.
k-h

Come on now it's time for your medicine

Hurry up,matron will be round soon and i bet youve still got the pencils out,

Who's deluded?
It's about time someone brought you back to earth and Liverpool are the team that can do it.

MIKEY

How times have changed,
contempt from Man City fans !
I guess when we're 3-0 up (again)
we going to have to start singing -
Are you united in disguise,
are you united in disguise...

Liverpool even beat City most of the time on FIFA

Did city make any new vedio game to score 8 goal ? I can ubderstand why u post like that as u guys out of CL and out of brain too.

What a tool. You got out classed by Napoli in the 2 hands you played em where we got a deserved goal less draw away with mostly reserve's and a 3 1 win at home thanks to a stunning hatrick by a certain Steven Gerrard. I know he won't be playing at the week weekend,but he wasn't playing when we out classed you at the back end of the season when we blitzed you 3 0. Oh make no bone's about it that Mancini see's this as the biggest challenge of the season because the whole Prem knows we can deal with any of the big teams as we've shown for a long,long time including this season. You ain't all your cracked up to be i'm telling ya,you ain't running away with the Prem like you think you will. You can be got at as even Villareal showed along with as I mentioned Napoli who had only won 1 out of their last 7 games before handing your asse to you as I
mentioned earlier. Dream on you deluded muppet. Jonson

Suarez 2 kuyt 1

Whatever happened to the fact that there's 'only one team in manchester'? You know, the dig at utd that the only true team hailing from manchester was actually city? I suppose now that city is the latest plastic club the only one real team from manchester must be FC united of manchester.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Is that you Borat?

Redjinal

Man city fan? Let me remind you you have no club anymore. It was bought by an Arab Trillionaire, all your players were then sold & your stadium is now the 'Etihad'. Duh!!??

Hi ed, i see Shelvey is likely to extend his lona spell with blackppol, He is a good player. Do you think it is likely he will have a future at anfield or is he likely to make this move official in the summer ? {Ed001's Note - it is likely he will return for next season, he is still only very young and just looking for regular first team football to aid his development.}

Wishful lineups for Sunday:
---- Reina ----
Johnson-Skrtel-Carra-Agger-Enrique
-Lucas-Adam
Downing-Suarez-Bellamy.

or

---- Reina ----
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Kuyt-Adam-Lucas-Maxi
-----------Hendo------------
----------suarez------------

The second team is what I'd play, with Bellamy instead of Maxi simply for his pace:

Reina
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Kuyt-Henderson-Lucas-Adam-Bellamy
Suarez

Red Ollie

Id perfer
reina
kelly skrtle agger enrique
johnson lucas adam downing
bellamy
sauarez

Reina
Johnson Skrtle Agger Enrique
Bellamy Lucas Adam Downing

Suarez

Carroll

The likely team is

Reina
Johnson Skrtle Agger Enrique
Kuyt Lucas Adam Downing

Suarez

Carroll

what i wana see is the same team that played chelsea. but andy will be good test for their cb's he takes atleast one of them out the game for saurez to run riot.

Hey ed do you think that with Gerrards constant run of injuries we will look to replace him sooner rather then later... and then use him more as a luxury player when he is fit?... if you know what I mean... {Ed001's Note - yes, I do expect a replacement to join soon, in the summer if not January. Great as he is, he is no good to the team while sat in the stands.}

Ed 1, you used to be quite critical of SG's attitude but now you have nothing but good to say about our leader, has he improved in that way lately & is he a good influence on the kids coming through? {Ed001's Note - I still don't like him as a person, but he is a fantastic player, he is also growing up a lot. On a personal level, the return of Dalglish (who will not stand for the big I am attitude) and, it seems, his injury problems, have brought about a bit of a change in him. I guess it must be a lot to do with suddenly realising that even he is not indispensable.}

Cannot believe a liverpool side without him...a loyal person..an absloute klegend..who stick with us..wen we were down and out...i have only one wish that he kisses that EPL trophy before torres does....no offence to torres..but gerrard deserves it...thats the last thing we liverpudians can do to him...hatss off man

Thanks ed for the typically honest reply i think you maybe right about the last point, we are playing well without him, that would have been unthinkable not too long ago, but even then our team always looks stronger with him in there!!

The name 'GERRARD' on the team sheet b4 every match itself gets me pumped up.

hey eds, some fans here a deluded thinking world class players will come to liverpool without champions league. just wanted to ask what would happen to the club if we didnt finish top 4, woould there be an assesment. {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean. Clearly the owners target for this season is Champions League qualification and Liverpool are well placed to be fighting for it at the end of the season. If not, Europa League qualification would be next on the list. Financially there is a significant benefit (assume £30M) in qualification for the Champions League and the owners would have to look at how the finances can be sustained without it - after by then two years of significant loss (to June 2011 and June 2012).}

Out of curiosity, what level of financial benefit would the Europa League bring roughly?

Thanks,
DP {Ed001's Note - virtually none in itself, but increased exposure to TV viewers etc can increase incidental profits ie merchandising.}

So Suarez isn't world class?

Square tomato

I remember Benitez sayin that winning the europa league would be like getting to the champions league quarter finals in terms of money. Ed how can it be virtually nothing? The europa league would be about an extra 10 games home match revenue alone. plus tv money, extra revenue from exposure etc. Of course you make money...silly thing to say ed. {Ed001's Note - you are forgetting how much it costs in terms of travel, other expenses and appearance bonuses. Not silly at all when you actually know what you are talking about.}

They should stick to travel lodges and take a packed lunch then don't you think?

Myk {Ed002's Note - That is what got Liverpool in trouble originally.}

They charter a whole jet to travel, no need really when most of the players are more than happy to use Easyjet on there days off

Hi ED
I was wondering, watching the football the other night Soldaldo getting a hat-trick but Jonas(not sure of spelling) created quite a lot during the game and since I know nothing about him I was wondering/hoping we might have a look what do u think
kind regards
{Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

No chance mate, if I am not mistaken Jonas signed for Valencia just this summer - this means that any fee he'd command is hugely inflated; besides, he probably has a preference to playing in Spain.

Spot on Kenny! The likes of Carroll & Carragher should be on the bench, am sure You have the gut to axe these players if needed.

Lets see how Kenny do this talking on the pitch, Liverpool will be better off with Carragher & Carroll on the bench for Sundays clash at Anfield.

price tags on players means nothing.....always room for bargaining!!

25 Nov 2011 02:11:43
Eds, I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into the interview Kenny gave the other day, but he said that those who have a problem if they are being benched, would be moved on or something to that effect. Is there someone in the dressing room who is not happy at not being played or benched?

GreenMeanMachine
{Ed001's Note - it was just a warning, a shot across the bows to anyone before problems develop.}

Greatt...make it happen..ship andy carroll out..and bring striker...and thats it..we will be in top 4...cant see bellamy to play remaining..30 odd matches for pool...but i stil lthink..KK will put carroll against city...fingers crossed...

To the above post with surplus full stops.. You out of breath?

Myk

Can we please get behind Carroll. Some so called "Liverpool fans" are starting to do my head in. No matter what you say or do he is going nowhere, and it isnt going to help when the fans are getting on his back. Remember Lucas anyone? If you dont like it, go and support City or someone. The real Liverpool fans get behind the players, the manager and the club.

Adzii

Completely agree Adzii... why do our fans have to single out players and get on their case? It happened previously with Lucas (et al). It seems some fans have pre-judged him before he's even got a decent chance to prove himself. In Carroll's case he's a raw talent that needs to be nurtured into a top class striker. Gomes, Drogba and others have taken their time coming through... it was always going to take some time. What little patience we had seems to be gone from football....
