Question for Ed 001. Before we signed Carroll, you were not a fan of him to say the least. Have you seen anything in him since he signed to change your mind and if so, what? Cheers

Ash {Ed001's Note - I have seen more work rate from him and a willingness to learn to play the way the team is playing.}

Do you think he is on the right track to justify the price tag (which is ultimately what he will always be compared against?)

Ash {Ed001's Note - I personally don't think his price tag is relevant, what matters is whether he helps us to win trophies or not.}

He doesn't need to justify his price-tag - only his wages.

cozinoz

I remember one of the eds calling AC a tanker who cudnt turn. To some extent, he was spot on.
Indian Buzzer

Good answers Ed, we can;t hold Carroll to account for the price paid for him, that was out of his control, unfair to beat him with it. If we weren;t desperate for astriker at the last minute he probably wouldn't have cost so much, but we know we wanted £15 million more for Torress than what Carool would cost, they banged the deal out last minute, judging by Torres return for £50 million, not as if we got the rough end of the stock

looks like liverpool have been granted an extension on the stadium to the middle of oct.

Eds is this because a decision as not been made yet or they just want to make sure?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware the decision is not made yet and they are keeping their options open to be sure.}

I'm watching the wolves game on LFC TV. Although Wolves ahd a few chances there will be a game this season where the opposition are going to get a thumping! Suarez and Carroll were immense!

Let's hope it's man utd

I dont want to be seen as another Henderson basher. But when he plays wide right it affects the whole balance of the team. If you think he is good enough Kenny- play him in his natural central position.

If Kenneys goes with 4-2-3-1 formation, Henderson will get Lucas spot and Gerrard will operate the right wing! Youll see the best of Henderson then.
TheJazz

Thejazz - You must be kidding me here. Lucas is one of, if not the, best defensive midfielder in the league (bar Essien & MAYBE Song). As far as i, and a lot of fans, are concerned anyway.
As far as trusting Henderson in a defensive midfield position, Then if you want a player to sh*t out of tackles in that position then we may aswell have kept Meireless and played him there. I have never seen two players pull out of as many challenges as these two guys.
Henderson will improve, he already has, But as a midfield inforcer, He would struggle. Adam cant play there either before you say that, He seems to lack the intelligence to pick the correct time to put a foot in. Good job he is so good at passing. Gerrard could probably do a job, But id worry about his desire to get forward compromising him in this role.
So we have Lucas & Spearing, And Coady if we are desperate. Midfield holders.

Johnnny {Ed001's Note - have you ever watched Song play? Apart from the fact he is not actually very good, he is also not a defensive midfielder and that is why they concede so many. He just forgets to defend, not good in a defensive midfielder.}

Kenny WILL play hendo in Lucas place, it suited to him, if you watch the last few games Lucas runs alot puts in a shift but hes always behind, when he puts a foot in he usually forgets to take it out, ball watchs etc..Lucas to make way!
Jay

ED001, you need to watch Song a little more. He was poor defensively a few seasons ago but has grown in stature and confidence to be a pretty great tackler and stopper. His positioning still isn't great and at times you can cut through Arsenal's midfield like a knife through butter, but that's what comes with allowing Song to run forward but not telling anyone else to cover for him. I think Song is not as good as Lucas right now, but it's pretty close

Hi eds all reds went to the match saturday with my 6yr old lad sat in the main stand had a ball just want to say thanx to all the people around us row 19 seats 113 and 114 great atmosphere the other thing i wanted to say is what a good game andy carroll had. As kd said aevereything but the goal.

25 Sep 2011 21:02:45
All you Henderson bashers need to have a word. The lad shows glimpses of quality. Granted he makes mistakes but thats because he's raw due to his age. The mistakes are basic positional issues and confidence, it will all come together over the next 12 months and if he's handled right we will have a star of the future at our club.

Ozone

Yet you still slag jones off, he is also young.....

Phil Jones is Ashley Young?

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Must say, Dont think anyone on here has slagged Phil Jones off? Infact, I think that most people on here have moaned that we didnt sign him.
Now hop on lad and buy your blue scarf for next season.

Went to the game yesterday. I go every week. I'm not a Scouser, but I've been a fan all my life. I can't remember why I was a red, I just was. My dad was, so I was. My sister is completely Reds Nuts! On the SatNav, I live 9.2 miles from the ground! I've been a fan since I stood in the Boys pen, as a boy. I then went in the Paddock with me dad, stood on a stool he made me, down the Kop end, so on and so on! At times yesterday, we were sh*te, but we have so much to come. Carroll looks fitter every game. If he'd scored, when hitting post, or taking everyone on in area, it would be different. Suarez was ace! Back four was good, and Downing played OK. Jordan, was in and out, but he's young. Adam was OK, and scored. I'll take that. Lucas did a lot of dirty stuff yesterday, you only see when you go! Kenny has changed a complete team and system. It will take time, but he'll get it right. If your gonna criticise my team, do it on another site, I never ave a go at the team at the ground or on here. It's just not done! We have a decent squad now, we are 5th, and with a bit more look, you never know. Kenny won't be happy. The players won't be happy. When we beat them next week, it will still be the same for me. Me and my team! Mancs and Gooners, and Chelski haven't got an anthem, and when you stand up before the game and sing Gerry's song, it pure class. I don't cry, but it's close, and I love it!YNWA. Steve1961

Car'nt help it Steve everytime i hear our anthem it bring's a tear or three to my eye's!

Well said Steve. We must never forget, that we have plenty to be proud of. Its about heart and soul!.
Shankly's Red Army.

The problem with whinging fans is that we live in a want it now society and these idiots do not understand that long term hard work is what creates success.. Chelsea, Man City have all the money in the world, bought expensive players and still it took several years of building before they won anything... Man Utd have spent years building team after team, before that they went years without winning anything..
Paul Dalglish has recieved so many nasty comments on twitter from ppl that have the nerve to call themselves Liverpool fans (scousers) slagging off Kenny, the team and Paul Himself.. Its a disgrace, these ppl should hang their heads. Ive supported Liverpool since i was 5 and knew what football was about. Im not a born scouser but my family is scouse.. and ive grown up with the idea that Liverpool is a family and we stick together, we dont slag off our own!
ItsNotRocketScience

Actually, Chelsea won the league the year Abramovich took over. You're right though, the comments on twitter are not on.

Ash {Ed002's Note - Actually Chelsea won the league the season after he took over. The first season saw them rise from fourth to second. Then came a change of manager and first place.}

I stand corrected. It was Mourinho's first season in charge though.

Its time for KK to man up and do to Carra what AVB did to Lampard.Respect to Carra great servant but every dog has there day and we cant afford passengers if we are serious about top 4. Luis not happy at all getting subbed, KK needs to keep him as happy as possible so that when the big money offers (and they will) come in January , he stays at anfield.
On a separate note for the mancs on here, Just watched last years CL final again, I loved the moment Rooney scores and the cam scans around the crowd and all those mancs think they have a chance, Barca go in for a s**t it half time and then come out and wipe their arse with Man u , oh Classic. Fergie doing his chewing gum clap handies thinking he might have a chance.

Suarez is happy, Very happy infact - He needs time to rest, Even if it is just 10 minutes extra a match, He will realise over time that it will help his fitness & endurance in the long run. Remember how Liverpool treated Michael Owen, Fernando TOrres, Steven Gerrard etc... - Over-reliance and expecting them to play every minute will ruin him, He is still young and id imagine still growing as a player. Lets not ruin this one.

Johnnny

And who knocked you out of the champions league last year? or the year before? you can't qualify for europes elite competition cus your no longer good enough. You canthrow at me 5 cups but when were they won? only 1 of them in what will soon be 30 years, remember when Forest were a force in europe? cus thats the last time you really were and were are forest now? i'm sure you'll be competeing with forest again much sooner then you will with europes elite, your a small has been club now let the major prizes be sorted out between the best clubs in the world.
Shappy

Well shappy, we don't need to mention our 5 'cos you guys always do! but with reference to your 30 year quote, since the inception of the"champions league" you have won 2 in 16 attempts, whilst we have won 1 in 8 attempt. While Barca, Milan and Real have each won in 3 in less attempts and your'e supposed to be the biggest club in the world! -

I think the everton game will determine how far we have to go yet to be premier league contenders again it will be r biggest test yet.

The biggest test was a spurs team that had kept their big players and were pushing for the same position not a team that has lost its most influencial player and hasnt been able to buy anyone for the last 2 seasons. after spending over 100mil while everton have spent nothing the team should be looking for a win and nothing less.

Kept them for now, they'll be off if they don;t make champions leage. how long will Modric stay? How long before Adebayour falls out with the club?

25 Sep 2011 20:44:26
Charlie commits too many fouls- in fact among league leaders (or failures) in fouls, yc & rc. He is sloppy and can deal with the quicker feet in midfield. I hope gerra takes that spot & charlie can move into a more forward position & do what he does best- pass, create, surge ahead & take shots. As a whole I would like to see team have a go and get more shots off, better tackling in mf -thus allowing lucas to get back to his job & not have to babysit charlie, and carra geez cmon bench him already he almost gave away another penalty vs wolves. Would like to see kuyt and bellamy as strategic subs (used from start depd on matchup) rather than last ditch sub-ons. Please KD put your ego aside and stop trying to prove how worthwhile the signings were and just play to win. Is that too much to ask? azkop

Who would you rather take the forward position & do what he does best- pass, create, surge ahead & take shots.
gerrard or adam.....agree or disagree

Hi fellow Reds. Has anyone heard any news on the Stadium, I thought a announcement was due a few weeks back (re: naming rights), would appreciate any info.

I've heard that the new stadium is the preferred option, because of timescales involved, in redeveloping Anfield. The problem is the planning permission, and then appeals. And then there would need to be compulsory purchases attempted, and then the appeals procedures again. It's apparently a bureaucratic nightmare. The most sensitive situation, though, is the relocation, of some important sections of ground, now. They are shrines, and should be dealt with, and rightly so, with a certain amount of reverance. YNWA.

went to the game yesterday i thought some of our attacking play was really good. Carroll was superb just unlucky with the header that hit the post. I thought we defended well when we had to. We would of drew that game last year so we are progressing well. Suarez is just pure class. But my man of the match was enrique is just so consistant.

You called that superb. smh

25 Sep 2011 19:58:59
Has Carroll impressed you at all?

Nope!

Yes . .

Not really!

He's getting there

Any scouse Liverpool fans on here? the reason I ask is that I know I'll get a sensible, humble and honest opinion without negative criticism towards our team.

youcantkidakidda

Im not scouse but im not negative at all of the team im passionate about, i know people on ere are negative mate all i can see is stevie's back Carroll is looking abit more sharper and Suarez showed yesterday that he wants to play like hes on Duracell batteries with the mancs and everton cumming up i cant wait to see stevie supplying Carroll and Suarez the balls they BOTH deserve, these carroll haters need to get a life me being from the north east i know how good he and lil jordan are. jordan has to settle down you got to remember hes young and moving away from your hometown and boyhood club he needs to time to settle hes young!
jayblair89

Well spotted mate, clearly the mancs have nothing better to do with their time. Should be for real fans only.

Carroll looked good on saturday. He's a good option to have up front. As Kenny has said its all about the squad. We got the result and we now move on to the next game.

I found it refreshing to see Bellamy, Kuyt and Gerrard warming up on the touchline. If we had't had the run of the green, there were quality options to bring on to change the complexion of the game.

Why the moaning, its only really the Spurs game we can moan about. Sunderland first half fantastic, Arsenal professional job well done, Bolton majestic, Stoke played them off them park and should've won, Spurs lets forget, Brighton professional job well done and Wolves very much similar.

I believe we'll get something at Goodison and then we'll beat Utd at home. At that point we'll be 3 points behind Utd if they don't drop any points in the interim.

Agreed Jayblair, I'm not scouse and I've been posting here for weeks to get behind the team and stop criticizing and get behind the team so early on in the season. Carroll is beginning to find his form once again judging by yesterday's game, and hopefully a few more games under his belt and he'll be firing from all cylinders (some more time also needed for him and Suarez to begin to read each other and form a good partnership up front). Henderson needs a bit more time to settle in for exactly the reason you've mentioned but I'd also be interested to see how he'd get on in the Centre instead of the wing. Enrique and Suarez have just slotted into the team like they've been playing for a few seasons now. I was also thinking now that Gerrard's back and begins to get more game time how he and Adam would also get along in the centre midfield positions.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

I totally agree with yh cuchulainn's fella id also like to see Henderson in the centre maybe 4-3-3 with Suarez n downing up there whilst also drifting in with Carroll with stevie hendo and adam/lucas in the midfield
jayblair89

Possibly Gerrard and Henderson in centre, Downing left, Kuyt right, with Suarez and Carroll up front. Possibly...

this site is being ruined by sarcastic manc fans, football banter should be between liverpool fans on their own page. can we have a site for sarcastic or bitter banter such as the other sports sites you have set up, this once enjoyable liverpool rumour and banter site is now being ruined by the likes of sir alex and blair mayne constatnly winding each other up, either that or this is going to turn away fans who liked to come on this site for banter and gossip about liverpool fc and not childish and pathetic posts by sad, sad utd fans. {Ed002's Note - It is kept to thye Banter page and is largely the fault of Liverpool fans bothering them.}

To the poster, please read what you just put then realise who is bitter.... HERBIE(MUFC)

Ed002, wouldn't the polically correct answer be both lfc and mu fans both are guilty of the same crimes on each other's sites?

Not being funny fella but you need to grow up! every one goes on everyones banter pages, united on liverpool, liverpool on uniteds, arsenal on spurs, spurs on arsenals, liverpool on spurs and etc etc etc so get on with it and enjoy the banter

Wouldnt people ignoring the posts just sort it out

Give ya head a wobble, ya muppit.

Its all blair's fault. Fair play to him, he has the mancs drove mental lol.

This question is for Ed002 in particular, who do you think is the best looking member of the Liverpool squad? I think Downing and Henderson are pretty handsome.

Keith YNWA {Ed002's Note - You really need ED007 for such questions.}

I've got a soft spot for Pepe!

dmedly

My wife seems to find both Lucas and Reina attractive!

Thanks, James.

Wat there wallets?lol

Mine thinks Hendo is toy boy potential. Me, I don't care if he looks like Tommy Smith's ugly sister as long as he plays brilliantly...
ND

Martin Kelly surely ? Henderson should be in Lord of the Rings in Rivendell

Thomas Blain

Pepe for me ... WHY THE HELL AM I EVEN ANSWERING THIS QUESTION!?

I am a woman and its defo fabio aurelio.

True Liverpool fans know that in Kenny we trust in his managerial career getting into top 4 not issue he isn't an amateur very soon Andy will be Shearah-like team 4 derby Pepe Kelly Carr sktl enrq kuyt spear lucas down Suarez Carroll (from bench Gerr 4 spear Bellamy 4 Carroll )

Wow, you need to breath mate, stick a comma or full stop in there and it might make more sense.... HERBIE(MUFC)

Hello fellow Reds...! I'm quite satisfied with our position in the table currently. We have a new squad and they will need time to gel. My only disappointment was the Stoke loss but yesterday they gave Man Utd a good run for their money so we can safely say that Britannia Stadium is a very tough place to go. Andy Carroll is a good player but don't compare him to Suarez. Nobody is Suarez so give our lad Carroll some breathing space as i think he will become a fantastic player. I know i'll be slated for this but i think Phil Jones is really a bad miss for us. Thad lad has shown he can everything and is very confident on his ability to go forward. Jordan Henderson has shown glimpses of his brilliance too and i think he's just short of confidence and will come good for us very soon.
And very happy to see Stevie G coming back from injury. If he can hit the ground running i think top 4 is going to be very realistic target for us.
These are just my views. Please don't abuse me, if you have anything to enlighten me please do so in a civilized way.
thank you
Musicnation

So you weren't disappointed at the hiding from the Spuds?

That is what Lfc supportes like. Support the players and be behind them. Stay United as King kenny said.

Excuses!! we have a new squad, they need time to gel......man u, man city, newcastle and chelsea all have new squad also and they are playing well. am tired of our excuses. they say carroll is going to be monster but the only person he is scaring now is himself. henderson needs confidence? what he needs is basic football lessons on how to trap, pass the ball forward and putting tackles instead of ghosting on the pitch; he always looks as if he's just flowing with the process knowing fully well that is he is definite starter. lots of fans have lower the standard of liverpool, we celebrate mediocrity. we deserve more than what we are getting now.we are liverpool. we should be second to none. we need to put our best players on the pitch to stand a chance of top 4.

tooblack {Ed001's Note - Man City barely brought anyone in during the summer, new squad? Yeah right. Perhaps if you took the time to check out your subject and show some knowledge first you might not make such glaring errors. No one is celebrating mediocrity, it is just that some of us can see potential in players and some of you obviously see nothing.}

Ed is there any chance of a page for mancs who are more interested in Liverpool just for Shappy and Sir Alex.

Atually were here as there are less pool fans here than on our site;-) lol

Shappy

Its called BANTER mate, we have some of your pool fans come to our page and we welcome them for BANTER, this is why its called a BANTER page.... HERBIE(MUFC)

Nothing wrong with a bit of decent banter you lads come on the CITY page so don't moan when others come on your site. BLUE MOON (Hi HERBIE. )

So Shappy & Herbie, make yourselves useful in a non-biased way. If you were a LFC fan for the day, with the players we have available what would be your starting 11 and formation? Just curious.

Hello Blue moon, nice to hear from you... Just curious fella, in all honesty I actually believe your team is improving but the fact is its improving slower than other teams. :-) .... HERBIE

Now that my friend is BANTER.... HERBIE

Hey Herbie, why don't you pop off to monte carlo as you are making us go banana's,with your fully loaded banter.I am not catching the love bug mate.

Herbert i'd hardly say you 'welcome' us pool fans who post on your page.

At the game yesterday and in my opinion Charlie Adam is poor in fact championship quality ..... we have bought a dud. This guy can't run,tackle, doesn't follow runners (this pulling Lucas all over the place) and can only pass when he has plenty of time (if he's pressed he more than often loses it). I feel he should take a lot of the responseability for the spurs performance not just the sending off but his poor showing prior. I mean yesterday ohara (who ain't exactly dynamic in his movement off the ball) left adam on numerous occasions.
Why the hell did we buy him ?
LFC1 {Ed001's Note - one of O'Hara's main qualities was his work rate, that is why Mick bought him! So to suggest he is not dynamic, when he was bought because he is, tells me you lack a little in your understanding of the game. Which in turn suggests you may not actually understand what Adam brings to the side.}

Well ed my friend ohara didn't put much of a shift in yesterdday but certainly put the pedestrian adam to shame !
LFC1

So its gone from abuse Hendo week to Adam week hey Ed? Least AC is safe from the knobs for a few days.

Ha ha this is the best one yet....Adam's performance is the reason we lost 4-0 to Spurs when he was only on the pitch for 26-minutes...personally I thought it was Bellamy's fault.

JRG

Only judge Adam & Hendo in 2 years time... it worked with Lucas ;-)

2 years time bloody hell adam will be on a zimmer frame by then

No it didn't work with lucas... he was judged everyday until last season and maybe the one be4 that so for around 2 2 1/2 years he was judged. The whole lucas thing tought us we shouldn't judge, but, and its a big BUT, Lucas was a squad player and didn't start matches week in and out as henderson is, which i think is wrong as it will only get the fans/me included one his back more. so on that level i feel for him and i do get that he is a future star, but he isn't making any impact now which kuyt, bellamy and maxi can all do in the present. and people who say maxi is this he is that shut-up you all were cheering him on at the end of last season. and forget about giving kenny the credit, i know kenny is a good leader but he's not that good

Adam is struggling with bossing the midfield and thats what we need, Lucas is trying to cover him when he misses a tackle, misplaces a pass or cant keep up runners due to his lack of pace. Stevie coming back will mean we have a true midfield boss... defo Gerrard and Lucas in the centre for me!

YNWA jns

Lets blame it all on Iraq.....oops, sorry, with all the finger pointing I thought I was on the conspiracy page...
Fitzy

Henderson is a ghost on the pitch, you wont see him on the ball.i can count the number of time he touched the ball yesterday. if lfc wants to make top 4,henderson needs to dropped.we can to be playing with ten men and a ghost.

I can only judge what I see,henderson is useless,how long before the penny drops with the rest of you ,wait and it will be to late.The silent majority.

I for one have been critical over Carras dip in performance for the last year, it has been very apparent this season as well. And so the debate has begun who or what is our best two CB and who is the preffered choice.

For me it's clear although Carra is still a great CB it's evident that this position is our Achilles heel at the back. Carras vision and reading of the game is still there but because of his lack of pace he has become vunerable and prone to making last ditch reckless challanges and is often caught out with his arms clinging on for dear life around the waist of opposition strikers.

We have been linked with various CB all summer and instead opted to buy Coates who in time will be a tremendous signing however due to injuries to key personal at the back I believe KK has had no choice but to keep relying on Carra.

For me i believe we already have a ready made CB at the club waiting to fill Carras big boots, that person is Kelly.
A back four of;

Johnson..Kelly...Agger....Enrique

I believe this back four is by far the best option open to KK it offers strength,speed, and versatility. If only Agger and Johnson could stay fit this would be my ideal back four years with Robinson, Flanno and Wisdom as promising back ups for the future.

Curled1

I agree, if we could take Carra's reading of the game, his determination and organisational abilities and install them in Skrtel we wouldn't need a debate about CB's.

I hope Carra picks up, (and I pray to the gods Agger can stay fit), but utilising Kelly as CB until Coates is ready for 1st team is a viable option.

Do you think Kelly n Agger can organise the defence though?

D 2308

Is Agger & Skrtel such a bad combo? I don't think Kelly is ready for CB yet.

Fensh

I think Kelly to CB is a great shout, because everyone says we lack pace there and can't hold a high enough line.

We still have Flanno or we can use Kelly to cover for Johnson at RB.

Problem solved, surely?

Hi ed guys/gals Ive noticed we have been accused by united fans of being a one man team(suarez),could it just be united without rooney are reduced to a collection of very average individuals who need that injection of liverpool blood to keep them ticking ,even if its blue.(godin) {Ed001's Note - to be fair, Nani has shown this season that he has a lot of ability, but they have no central midfield worthy of the name. Anderson has never even come close to reaching his potential, still looks fat and clumsy unless he has time and space. Carrick is good at what he does, but he does not have the right partners to get the best out of him. They really miss Cleverley.}

Thats what they said about gerrard and we did kinda fine without himwhen he got the injury after kenny came (i think thats when he got it?)

From a Utd perspective I don't think your a 1 man team.... More a 1 and a half man team, you really need to get Gerrard fit again.... HERBIE(MUFC)

It is strange how they have only had him in the first team for a handful of game and already he looks like one of their key players. Also eds, what's the latest on Suso's progress. Still expecting big things or has his development stalled a little? He's getting to that age now of being slowly blooded in or loaned out for experience.

Ash {Ed001's Note - big things are still expected of him, but he is being asked to play different roles on the pitch as part of his learning process.}

Young has the most assits in the league and we have Hernandez and Welbeck has looked good for a youngster along with Cleverley. Then we have the future best goalie in the world and two great back fours, our second choice back four of Rafael Smalling Evans Fabio looks world class next to your first choice back four. And i haven't even mentioned last years golden boot winner and hat trick king. So we are far from a one man team, but sure Rooney is our Star player as Gerrard is yours, every team has a best player who they build their team around thus when their injured the team will suffer.

Shappy

How can you say you have a future best goalie sometimes he looks good but other times he looks like the next Gomes

J. Evans & class in the same sentence just don't go. He is useless, just as Brown & O'Shea were. I think the twins are extremely overrated too (purple nose would rather play Valencia at RB vs Stoke than them?). Evra is past it and also overrated. I also have seen a bit of Jones at Rovers and reckon as good as he seems going forward, he is not that fantastic a defender (Luiz anyone?). He will end up in DM role sooner rather than later. Watch this space.

Smalling though was a good buy and excellent CB.

Agree with the last poster, Evans is one of the most useless footballers in the premierleague! ZERO class, ZERO potential, USELESS!!

Team for the derby.

Despite the lack of clean sheets I think the back 5 positions pick themselves with Agger injured and Coates too early into LFC Career for a derby start - so Reina, Kelly, Carra, Skrtel and Enrique.

I think EFC will line up with a 4 5 1 even though at home and we don't want to be outnumbered in midfield.

Unfortunatley I don't think Gerrard will start so we can do following.

Henderson, Lucas, Adam, Downing - Suarez and Carroll - too me this midfield would be overun and I fear Adam will see red.

Or maybe have spearing and lucas as CM and give a free role to one of either bellamy, henderson, adam or kuyt with suarez as striker.

I think that if we occupy midfield our better movement on wide areas linking with suarez will win game.

For me EFC danger from set peices and making game scrappy with lots of bookings and if we went to down to ten men. What do you think?

D 2308

How about Lucas and Henderson in the middel with kuyt and Downing on the wings with Saurez just behind Carrol...simple and i think that would do the job against Everton

Lucas and Spearing sitting, Suarez, Kuyt, Downing and Bellamy providing the action. Keep the big guy for the second half. The bitters will go at us like a swarm of bees to start with.

hi guys.I think i remember ed009 saying that jordan hendo has a lot of potenial.what exactly do you see in him?i think we have better players on are bench than him so 16 to 20 million for him was ridiculous.glad to see us beat wolves main thing we got the 3 points.good luck lads beat everton for us please :) thanks {Ed001's Note - he is an excellent crosser and passer of the ball, in fact striker of the ball in general, he has the ability to hit the ball very cleanly. Hendo is also a very willing worker, if you are judging him now then I fear for you. Clearly the lad is short on confidence and your stupid statement about better players on the bench (which is ridiculous when we have Gerrard there, of course he is better!) is not exactly supportive of a lad in need of it. Try getting behind the lads and giving them a chance to prove themselves, we have already seen Lucas take years to get where he should have because of boo boys. Perhaps if the fans get behind Henderson he might not need so long to begin achieving his potential.}

For the game against wolves what rating did/would you give him i's give it n/a because he wasn't around, but aleast when he had the ball he didn't through it away and is it just me or does kuyt think he has the ability to hit a ball like gerrard because he always try shots just outside the box and quick shots when he could just pass and keep the ball

and lavezzi to wear our vacant number 10 second half on the season

Henderson is a ghost on the pitch, you wont see him on the ball.i can count the number of time he touched the ball yesterday. if lfc wants to make top 4,henderson needs to dropped.we can to be playing with ten men and a ghost.

Hi eds, how come my Van Persie rumour was not posted today, or have I missed it. I'll resend it if you haven't received it.

Aintree Red {Ed001's Note - no idea what Van Persie rumour you are referring to, unless it is the old one about him signing for us that has been going round for years now.}

Aye that's the one. He's interested in LFC if we're in Champions League. Wants to leave Arsenal and plans are in place to make it happen should we qualify. Nothing in stone but it's a deal we're serious about.
It may have been said before but so were a lot of Maccas rumours that ended up being correct. This is not random guesswork based on media tittle tattle like some, it comes from my usual source which is usually right if people wished to check.
Like Macca I am only passing on what I've been told from inside the club so no abuse please. {Ed001's Note - I wasn't giving abuse mate, was merely pointing out that it could have been ignored because it is a rumour that has been around for a long time.}

Why would we sign a player who only plays 25% of the games a season?

Sorry ed, I was not suggesting that you were giving me abuse, merely asking other posters not to, as they have in the past and been proved wrong, when all I am doing is passing on genuine info. Thanks for posting.

We signed Torres didn't we.

hey ed many r calling for carra to be dropped. Do u think it wud be a good idea if he didnt play against everton? Tbh he has been miserable frm the start of the season. N wud u start coates against everton?
Indian Buzzer {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't drop him to face Everton, that is the kind of game that suits him. Anyway, if Moyes sticks with his formation he has been using of late, it really won't matter who is in defence as they don't play with any strikers!!}

Carra is the reason we play deep I love Kenny,but I think him sticking with Carra could be very costly this season.Sir Bob would have let him go a while ago. Please for the good of the club Drop him from the squad I can't think of anything he brings to the team.He can't run, can't pass,Fouls every time he's turned. Makes the team play deep, and he only stopped being Evertonian in his 20's. Retire Jamie, or go and play for your beloved Blues. No that wouldn't happen,would it as you wouldn't get in the team would you? {Ed001's Note - that was a pathetic end to your post, Carra is not a blue any more, they are certainly not his beloved and I bet you wouldn't have stooped that low to dig at Fowler.}

FFS! I agree he is getting on but at least show him some respect for what he has done for us you pr@t!

Thats a disgrace. I'm with you there Fensh, they should show some respect, notwithstanding the fact that Carra still brings a bit of wisdom and organisation to the table. Lets put it this way, comparing like for like in terms of getting on a bit, I'd have Carra all day long before Ferdinand.

Carroll has been looking a lot more with it recently, I can see a great performance and goals just round the corner. Just in time for the next few games :)

What is your definition of a good performance? i know a good performance when i see one. if you guys called andy carroll's performance yesterday a good then i guess fans have settled for mediocrity. lfc standard used to be high but no more. carroll was busy falling over himself and conceeding possession. the media are not biased ; let stop the defeatist mentality that everyone is against us. am not carried away with the win yesterday, there so many thing missing and wrong in our game. if kk fail to see that our midfield of henderson & adam is not good enough then we are in trouble. wolves is a relegation candidate and we conceeded ball possesion to them throughout the game and giving them lots of freekicks around the edge of our box. we are too predictable, it is only suarez that offers guile in the first 11 that started yesterday and kk still removed him when the game was delicately poised. hope kk is not taking anything for granted.fans do turn quickly nowadays . lfc needs a tactician in the setup and we him now.but what do i know.

Your off the mark there mate, were you at the game yesterday?

I was and I can assure you that whilst I'm not carrolls greatest fan, it was one of his better performances of the season. Besides score, there wasn't much else lacking in his game.

Granted Adams speed is a concern but thats not his game. Adam is effective in a certain type of game and like Kenny has said its all about the squad.

Im quite happy with what we've got in terms of a squad pushing for top 3. The only thing missing is a world class out and out goal scorer in the mould of Rush, fowler, owen or Torres. If we havn't fell off the pace by January and we manage to bring the right profile centre forward in, then I would say we could push for the league.

Notwithstanding we have Sterling in the pipeline.

The worry for me with Carroll yesterday is that he wasn't reading a couple of killer balls from Luis.he needs to be sharper in goalscoring positions particularly with someone as lively as Suarez.Having said that he works hard is superb in the air has a wicked left foot,he just needs to adjus a little to the football were playing as do some of the others but you have to expect so many new players to take a bit of time to gel.Yosser.

Ed i have seen you say that commolli has said that the team is complete and therefore we won't buy anyone in jan unless injuries etc. But Comolli also said we wouldn't buy anyone after we signed downing then we signed enrique coates and bellamy so i wouldn't believe a word he says. Have you been told by your sources that we won't be buying anyone or is it just based on commoli's quotes? {Ed002's Note - It is not based on anything Comolli has said.}

Im not trying to discredit you but you said in a response to someone else that you don't think there will be any major transfers in jan because DC said that the team is complete. {Ed002's Note - I have never said any such thing. You need to read the posts. If you struggle to understand them, have somebody read them to you slowly.}

If we are doing well come january and we need new players for whatever reason ,and the right player/s are available of course we will buy.

So girls, I assume to celebrate your laboured victory yesterday, your Mummys gave you extra milk with your Farley's rusks last night for tea.

And I'm not happy with Suarez. I transferred Goofy out of my fantasy football team, and then he goes and scores your only legitmate goal against Wolves. He usually can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

(Carroll fouled Johnson prior to your first as you know. This was his only contribution..class act! Anyway, good old biased Liverpool refereeing at Anfield..nothing ever changes. I just hope one day United get a refs decision at Old Trafford, that would make a nice change).

Looking forward to interesting fixtures for United in October, especially against two minnow clubs who have experienced little success in the last 20 years. Aldershot in the CC and Liverpool!

Sir Alex, it ill behoves you to complain about refereeing decisions, after being awarded two offside goals in one game, and with Utd being known by all other PL supporters as the team who gain most from the appalling refereeing standards that we all have to deal with.

You win some, you lose some, old fruit.

Alex, your boys got mullered yesterday by the clayheads, you were lucky to leave the Britt with a point.

I see Crouchy gave your new potatoe head at centre half the run around, he didd't have that daft arrogant look on his face yesterday.

In fact, you were lucky against Chelsea, you dropped on Spurs when they were in disarray early doors and the same can be said about Arsenal.

You'll get spanked at are place on the 15th just liike you did last year. Now go and pour yourself a glass of whiskey and start worrying about your teams shortcomings.

Hmmm a deserved but laboured victory is always better than an undeserved and lucky draw? Discuss.

Oh and I think that i previous seasons it was Vidic being reduced to a wreck by our players, Nani passing to our player in 6 yard box and the fact you were outplayed that led to the results. You wouldn't have changed outcome even if you cloned Howard Webb and used him for 4th official and asst refs as well.

If we continue to play 4-4-2 with adam in middle we will pay with more goal against us and more red cards.
Adam gets out of position then exposes whole back 4.

Hendo should be tried there till steve.g is fully fit.
Way adam tackels my heart beat goes missing.
Against everton and mancs plus other good teams unfortunatly adam will expose us in defensive front.
Thoughts.
Red indian

I know what you mean with the ball Adam is a genius without it he's a liability but he was better vs wolves but I think Hendo needs to be given a chance at CM -McMenemy

Adam & Lucas as our CM. Best 2 tacklers in the league.... not.

I think maxi should be played, he attacks and defends when needed. kuyt is hardworking and is visible, hendo apparently is hardworking yet he is a myth on match day

Henderson and adam should be played at holding mid with lucas the creating/attacking mid, with bellamy and downing wings and suarez striker

and on attack suarez, bellamy and downing front three with lucas, adam and henderson in the middle providing back up and cover. we need 3 cm because we are just getting dominated in the middle

"Hendo apparently is hardworking yet he is a myth on match day"... A myth is traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people. Are you calling Hendo a legend?

Chaps
It's becoming slowly apparent, week by week, what's happening to LFC.
There's no pace at centre back, centre midfield, and limited pace at centre forward in the 4-4-2.
When we're not on the ball, it's costing us big time.
We can live with one of these problems, but not all three.

Problem 1 - centre back. Coates can't just go straight in. Carra will stay and lead, for this season at least. That seems clear. In Jan or next Summer, LFC will look at signing 1, maybe 2, CBs to resolve this.

Problem 2 - midfield. Its Stevie in and Charlie out.
4-4-2 is a fading option.
Aternatively it's an extra midfielder eg Lucas at DM, Charlie and Stevie in CM. Then we lose may have to lose a striker (Carroll).

Problem 3 - striker. Carroll is never going to be another Torres. Don't expect him to be. That's not his strength.
The lad needs game time and is getting there but his style is different to what we've had recently. He's working his socks off to help and fit in, but the other two problems are limiting him.

So, in conclusion,
If Carroll plays - Charlie Adam cant, not in a 4-4-2.

To help Charlie out, we either play an extra midfielder or he loses out in a 4-4-2.

Carra will retain his place.

That's how it's panning out. If we play 4-4-2 next week, we'll get beat.
The Real KB
ps eds, posting off my dad's laptop

I agree mate, no pace in our team at all, but thats kennys fault, bellemy is fast, gerrard is fast and kuyt wil run for ever, hard graft does help when you are short in other areas, we have stopped working for each other we need to go back and start over again without the new signings and work it out, bob paisleys skids

Agree with your post but no one can clearly say we will definitely loose, may be we might win even with 4-4-2 formation with Adam in CM, but think & hope Kenny will not play 4-4-2, & he should drop Adam, Stevie must come in, 4-3-3, Kelly, Carra, Skrts, Enrique, Lucas, Stevie, lucas, hendo (Bellamy), downing, suarez, Carroll (Kuyt)

I should have said that I think we'll lose with the same starting eleven as a 4-4-2
The Real KB

So what your saying then is kenny's wasted money on crap players who don't fit the system.

What I'm saying mate, is 4-4-2 with Charlie Adam in central midfield, is vulnerable. And exacerbates the lack of pace in other areas down the team spine.
The Real KB

No.What he's saying is, lets blame somebody else other than Carra for us playing deep.You can't blame Carra's lack of pace,lack of ability to bring the ball out,Lack of not fouling everytime he's turned.He's past his sell by date by 2 yrs.A total liability.

KK cud have bought better players with all the money he spent.

Why does Lucas's lack of pace not get a mention? I think we need to play 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1 / 4-5-1 or what ever you wanna call it), 5 in midfield with Gerrard getting fwd and linking play. We have no-one else who can. But I do not think Kenny will change from 4-4-2 which requires to box-2-box CM's and pacy wide men.

I would like to see an outfield 6 of:

Gerrard - Lucas - Adam
Suarez - Carroll - Downing

Ferguson complaining after Stoke draw. Complaining about Crouch fouling all the time is a joke. Crouch is just using his natural physical abilities to score goals.

No he was climbing on the back of players which is a foul as pointed out by Hansen.

Tell ya what crouch had a brilliant game,
i was watching him and couldn't help but wonder what will Carroll do to there defense in a few weeks.

Yeah gr8. Wat abt the 5 penalties we shud have got this season? The useless referees sent them down the drain.
Indian Buzzer

We had a blatent penalty not given and had Nani and Giggs miss chances they would normall have buried that would have put us 4-1 up thats not lucky my friend.

Shappy {Ed001's Note - they could have scored lots more too, you were lucky and only a deluded fan could say otherwise.}

Ed how were we lucky? had peter walton got the first decision of the day right and given us a penalty and sent off Woodgate then how would a 10 man Stoke who would have most likely have been 1-0 down after 3 minutes have played then? Even Hansen thought it was a pen and sending off. We were unlucky in this game. But to be fair to Stoke i thought the result was fair based on how the game played out.
Shappy {Ed001's Note - I was basing it on the whole of the game, if De Gea had not been on form you would have lost.}

De Gea made more saves than Bergovic. Think about it shappy.

If Suarez ever repeat the same unprofessional reactions and behavior at being substituted like he did yesterday, he should be shipped out as soon as his replacement has been found for no one player is bigger than the club.

Fine player, yes, but a player with such rotten attitude we don't need at LFC. And no player is indispensable and irreplaceable. He should either buy himself some professional attitude(he obviously has none) or f*** off.
End of rant.

BooDaBooze

I think you are looking at it the wrong way mate. The way I look at it (and the way most people I assume look at it) is that the guy is so passionate about football, that he wants to play every second of every match.

He hates being subbed because all he wants to do is give 100% effort and commitment for 90mins.

So yeah, he got subbed yesterday and 'threw a wobbly' but that's because he wanted to stay on and contribute more to the match and making sure we won.

To be honest, I'd rather the rest of the team had his attitude. Too many players are happy to just stroll off the pitch not caring about the result as long as they get their pay cheque.

The Suarez thing is no big deal.
The Real KB

He's rightfully pi$$ed off with been subbed, its nearly every match and he's your best performing player at the moment so why take him off.... HERBIE(MUFC)

There should not be a deal at all. Act professional, thats what he paid for.

Yes thats right ship him to chelsea or man utd great move, bob paisleys skids

He shouldn't have been subbed, I got no problem with his reaction, he shows passion

It's not a mystery or a consipracy.
One of the Eds has said that the physios have advised that Suarez doesn't play the full 90 mins, and that happens to fit in with giving Gerrard a run out (and beefing up our midfield at the same time).

Suarez must know all about the physio's advice, so I don't know why he throws such a strop when the time comes to come off.

On one hand its great to see signs of such passion to play, but on the other it does slightly undermine KK's authority, so there has to be a limit.

AC

The player who stopped the ball going in with his hand at the world cup then smiled when sent off then was seen celebrating when the penalty was missed, and the same player who bit a players ear in dutch league football? And you seem surprised that he's acted unprofessional? really? it was just a matter of time until he showed his true colours, why do you think no one else was trying to sign him? undoubtably a talented player but one who is petulant and unhinged. But i've said all this before when you signed him, theres just not telling some people.
Shappy

Grow up.

He was the one that looked the biggest threat, the game wasnt in the bag it was 2-1, if he acted like that when were 2 or 3 goals up then i would say he was in the wrong but at 2-1 if Wolve would of scored then we would of needed Suarez on the pitch. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make sure we get the 3 points before coming off

Shappy didnt Rooney react exactly the same way a couple of years ago {Ed009's Note - He did the exact same thing, and I have no doubt Shappy declared it a sign of loyalty to the club he has since held to ransom on the threat of leaving if he didn't get enough money to cheat on his wife again with the most expensive prostitutes around.}

Don't think anyone on here gives a toss about your opinion shaggy.

Shappy Atleast suarez had the moral values not to do 'u know what' when his wife was in labour like ur man utd poster boy rooney.
But i wont hide my admiration for rooney as a footballer.
Indian Buzzer

No when Rooney did it a couple of years ago it was petulant and uncalled for, but he does come from a rough area and his upbringging wasn't great but he's since grown up and become a better behaved player on the pitch thanks to Sir Alex. So What's Suarez's excuse.
Shappy

Ps if no one cared what i thought then then wouldn't bother to reply to my post;-)

He want's to play every minute of every game, you can understand his passion when he gets that red shirt on and I can understand his disappointment in being subbed. I think it's good Kenny's keeping him hungry and I think he will play for 90+ minutes in the next two games in October (Everton & ManU). Also, the EPL is a long season and it's a long winter without any break so you want to protect players a little bit, keep them fresh, keep them hungry, keep them fit and free from injury as long as possible. So its not a bad thing to sub Suarez against Wolves. And Luis's goal was shear class - great finish! The only disappointment for me is that I'm dying to see Suarez playing on the same pitch as StevieG.

RedAce.

U can't take moral high ground over Suarez and cite Rooney as an example. Most footballers are flawed and when you support your team you "ignore" your player's flaws whilst highlighting same flaws in opposition players.

In terms of temprament Suarez and Rooney are the same, I don't think it has anything to do with upbringing ( I didn't see Rooney get into any trouble when in an Everton shirt so the notion that he has been moulded by your manager doesn't hold up, spesh when he can still elbow Wigan midfielders and get away with it).

And yep Suarez is no saint I remember him kicking Dawson on floor at Anfield last season and no card. So having an opinion on Suarez fine - but don't make out Rooney isn't the same type of player.

If Kenny plans to play 4-4-2 - Charlie Adam cannot be picked. He simply can't play in a 2 man center midfield; we were at times second best yesterday in the center - Lucas helped Adam out a lot yesterday.. 4-4-2 needs to be Lucas Henderson - Lucas Gerrard (who isn't the greatest either in a 2 man mid but his class will help him out).

Andy Carroll had a great game yesterday, his movement, work rate was brilliant and as Kenny said "it's funny nobody asks about Andy Carroll when the lad played well".
As all LFC fans know the media are anti-liverpool love to bash us when we are down and ignore us when we are on a high..

I'm looking forward to the Everton match next weekend - we're good enough to go there and get 3 points.

Reina; Kelly Carra Skrtel Enrique; Gerrard Lucas Adam or Hendo; Downing Suarez Carroll. I'd go for it with 4-3-3.

My view of the game is that on the ball we looked fantastic and created numerous chances - off the ball there seemed to be too much space between the midfield and defence which was exposed by a striker dropping deep or an advanced midfielder. Saying that apart from the goal Wolves scored they never really troubled Reina who never had a meaningful save to make in the second half. If we had taken our second half chances this would have been a convincing victory. Downing missed a one on one Carroll hit the post and Hennessey made a fantastic save from Suarez. If just one of these had gone in the game would have been far more comfortable. We must be more clinical in front of goal before it costs us points though. Last season Man U scored 19 more goals than us in the league and this year they already have 22 compared to our 8. I would be more concerned if we were not creating chances.
Thought Carroll was immense throughout the game - I have been one of the people on here sticking up for him and I think yesterday he gave a glimpse to everyone what he is capable of. Wish he got the goal his play deserved.
Still don't understand why Henderson gets so much criticism on here. I thought he had a solid game yesterday, put a few quality crosses in but also kept possession of the ball. When he got substituted I thought that he would be getting some more encouraging words spoken about him on here but I guess people can't praise Carroll and Henderson in the same game!
 Overall I would say that there was more positives than negatives in the game.

JRG

I am a season ticket holder and I agree Henderson is playing alright.If you look at the big picture you will see his lung busting runs and the posters correct he doesn't gie the ball away.People on here calling for Kuyt should remember Kuyt giving the ball away in the final minutes and Wolves breaking.Henderson would not of give the ball away so cheaply.Please get off his back he will be a great player.

I watched the match today and Lucas deserve the praise he was running till last minute to stop opposition attacking.
On Adam I think he needs to improve his tackling Ed when I see him tackle I see scholes and how he was also poor in tackling but he must also learn to cover better too many times adam was cut open in Medfield and against fast good CM he will struggle as he did against Spurs.

Andy was brilliant he bossed opposing defense like he should game in game out.

Poor goal to give away though for me Reina looks uncomfortable which is the biggest hint that he is not happy with defense thats when keeper becomes indecisive.

Steve.G looked good.

Now the big topic Suarez attitude I did not see the match last night and wrote post on basis of your post I have no shame in changing my thoughts.

I thought Suarez was brilliant and could have scored more but he was just disappointed not to take his chances and when Kenny substituted him like any player he was unhappy as he thought he could have scored as wolves defense tired.
I think if Kenny wants this is the time to use his man manger skills and put a hand on luis and tell him that how loved he is.
hendo looks more like CM and I don't know he looks out of depth at RM position.
Best thing was we won a match in which we did not play well now to one better and win a match 1-0 when we get hammered by opposition.
Thats what good teams do win matches when not playing well.

Red Indian

PS: Sorry if I offended anyone in any of my previous post its just that when ever I talk about my beloved reds I get sentimental and all emotional may be it affect my judgments also.I am man enough to accept my mistakes.
Have a good day ahead all.

Red Indian: if you love Torres so much please go support Chelsea.

Suarez needs a head slap to check his ego. Kenny was spot on and to be honest Carroll contributes more defensively than Suarez and Suarez needs to go work on his finishing which isn't good enough imo. Carroll was MOTM for me today.

At some level you have to respect your enemy also.that's how I was raised under the sayings of mahatma gandhi that you even pay due respect to your enemy.

I don't need any certificate or blessing from you to support my club.
I never launch any personal attack on manger or players but I say their shortcomings.atleast I am ready to accept that.

Some like you say and do the hypocrytic thing by now backing but last season and before this launched personal attacks on manger and players.

I have seen how you guys sometimes go after roy with some awful personal remarks.
I never do that.
I have backed andy and hendo to the hill will continue to do so.
But I am honest to say this side does not fill me up with lots of chear yet.
In the end I can assure you I want my reds to move forward and get the glory days back.
Red till last breath.

Typical Indian reply mate. N im totally wid u on torres. He was a class act, is still my favorite player n wil continue to be so.
Indian Buzzer

I respect your reply Red Indian and was maybe a bit grumpy (posted whilst looking at Suarez sulking on the bench after kicking a few bottles around). I agree Torres when at his best was the best finisher I have ever seen, but I will never forgive what he did and how he disrespected the club. Hence he is not one of my favourite players anymore and I do not wish he does well for one of our opponents.

Fensh

Fair enough Red indian, mate, but why show respect when there was a blatant lack of respect on torres' part when he left us? He's shown his true colours and i wouldn't waste my time on him.

Team for the derby next weekend - I would select players with derby experience (eg/ Kuyt), play 3 central midfielders to dominate possession, and bring Carroll on in the 2nd half:

Reina
Kelly--Carragher--Skrtel--Enrique
Lucas--Adam
Kuyt--Gerrard--Downing
Suarez

Subs: Doni, Coates, Aurelio, Henderson, Maxi, Bellamy, Carroll

Red Ollie {Ed009's Note - That would be my team for next week too. I am worried about Adam's temperament in the high pressure situation though. Hopefully he will be calmed.}

Ed do you think Athletic would sell Muniain at a reasonable price? He will be 19 when January comes round so surely 20 million should be enough for such a raw talent? I may be dreaming but he's just the sort of player we need and fits the FSG policy, and we showed we're willing to do business in January when we signed Suarez last year. I know we could start a bidding war but who else would be in for him? I can't see Chelsea, United or City going for him and Arsenal are notoriously slow to spend big money. Real and Barca could be possibilities but surely we can offer him more first-team football for his development.
I think if we sign Muniain and Gary Cahill then we can mount a title challenge next season, though we may still be lacking a back-up creative midfielder. You might think that my theory that we are 2 signings off a title challenge is overly optimistic, and overly reliant on Carroll playing at his best; not so. Look at this team, with no Carroll:

Reina
Johnson--Cahill--Agger--Enrique
Lucas--Adam
Muniain--Gerrard--Downing
Suarez

Subs: Doni, Skrtel, Coates, Henderson, Kuyt, Bellamy, Carroll

I'd love that to be our team next season, with Carroll hopefully posing a selection dilemma. I'd say that's pretty much as good as the team that came 2nd a few seasons ago.Maybe Lucas and Adam are worse that Mascheran and Alonso but they are also fairly young. The team has a stronger defence and much stronger strength in depth than that great Benitez team, look at the players left out even of the bench: Coates, Wilson, Robinson, Flanagan, Aurelio, Spearing, Shelvey, Maxi

What's so special about this Munian that we should buy him for 20M? Just asking.

BooDaBooze

What's so special about Munain?

He's a fantastic young player.

He looks like Bart Simpson. Serious.

Carragher - whilst he is a legend time is catching up on him. However until either Agger or Skrtel can organise and marshall a defence or we buy a CB that does he will be 1st choice. A CB pairing of Sktrel/Agger worries me more than Carra and Skrtel/Agger.

Last season there was a period of three months when Carra was out injured and the Skrtel/Agger CB pairing did really well. They both looked happier and performed better without Carra at the back then

Agger & Skrtel together and Carra benched doesn't worry me at all.

I think we can beat everton next week, they are decent at home and hard to beat but if we play our football and start with 2 up front we will beat them easily they are bit more attacking at home and if we get onto them straight away and score early it will be game over !!
Team i would play for the derby
Reina
Kelly
Carra
Skrtyl
Enrique

Kuyt
Adam
Lucas
Downing

Bellamy
Suarez

I wouldn't risk Gerrard in the derby, not worth it, its a demanding match and i could see him pulling up in a game like this !!

Kenny spend 120 million on new players
Andy Carroll
Luis Suarez
Stewart Downing
Charlie Adam
Jordan Henderson
Sebastián Coates
José Enrique
Doni-free
Craig Bellamy-free

I'd bought for 120 million + 20m. sold player

Luis Suarez - 24 m.
Stewart Downing - 20 m.
José Enrique - 6 m.
Ferdando Llorente - 30m.
Ezequiel Lavezzi - 20m.
Javi Martinez - 20m.
Gary Cahill - 15m.
Charlie Adam - 6m.
Connor Wickham -10m.
Doni - free
Craig Bellamy -free
Total: 151 milion only 11 m. more

Subs:Doni_Skrtel_Lucas_Adam_Kuyt_Wickham_Bellamy {Ed001's Note - except you are living in a dream world and wouldn't get those players for the money you are fantasizing about! Atletico rejected bids of over 35m for Llorente.}

Who gives a toss. If you are so special then take your coaching badges and become a manager

How much are you paying over the next 5 years for these players wages?

That's brilliant! You should send this together with your CV to JW Henry c/o FSG immediately as I am sure they will be interested in interviewing you for the managers job - good luck.

JRG

You know for a fact that all these players wanted to leave their clubs and come to Liverpool for a reasonable wage? Spoken to their agents? No? Then keep your fantasy XIs for footie manager.

Well done to the lads on Sat. Still showing the same problems ( not clinical in front of goal, still look like conceding every game) but it was an important win and think we just deserved it. Some points to mull over for you.

1. Andy Carroll - best game so far and glimpses of what we bought him for. Has it occurred to anyone that he was bought to bully/dominate defences of the lower to mid table teams. As LFC have always been able to raise their game against the bigger teams but struggled against the West Brom's, Blackpool's etc in past. I think AC was unlucky not to score and hopefully he will get better.

2. Carragher - whilst he is a legend time is catching up on him. However until either Agger or Skrtel can organise and marshall a defence or we buy a CB that does he will be 1st choice. A CB pairing of Sktrel/Agger worries me more than Carra and Skrtel/Agger.

3. Yep we are better off in points than last year. Also we have played some moderatley tough awaygames already - Arsneal, Stoke, Spurs ( yes I know we lost 2 of them) - compared to Chelsea - who have played West Brom, Swansea and Norwich and Stoke, Sunderland, Man U. So 3 points behind Chelsea isn't too bad.

4. The Derby - vitally important we win. Its never a gud idea 2 have 2 many people making a derby debut - we could have as many as 7 ( if Coates played).Luis and AC and Downing and Enrique shud start. Adam will prob make it as well ( though I have a fear he will see red). I would drop Hendo for Kuyt - he is a big game player and knows exactly what derby is about. I'd love Gerrard to start but think he will be sub and wouldn't mind Spearing being involved.

Keep on behind the team and have belief - we are movin forward just not as rapidly as we hoped.

We will do absolutely nothing with Carra in the back 4. What was he doing when the cross come over for their goal? he had his arms wrapped round a player in the 6 yard box ,trying his best to give another penalty away.It's is so frustrating to Watch him dragging us deep every week.

Kuyt is definitely a good call for the derby

I have important issues to raise.

My issues are numbered below and in no particular importance!

1. I missed the entire 1st half because of an obvious attempt to crack down on Live Online Sports Streaming.

These crackdowns include:

1a) Entire shutdown of freefootball.org or .eu at least one hour prior to KO.

1b) Complete shutdown of Myp2p

1c) Making sopcast broadcasts like YES and FOXSOCCER more difficult to find.

(The reason 1c is important is because streams are flawless through sopcast, thus cutting sopcast off and only allowing online streams in low quality, that lag the entire match and get disabled due to copyright *THIS NEVER HAPPENS IN SOPCAST*: will lead to people trying to watch the match online eventually give up trying to watch live online sport for free) < Online browser streaming therefore is a waste of time (For me these days).

Do you all know the reason online streams get pulled?

It's because your ISP is working in harmony with the authoritive body in charge of pulling these streams.

Did anybody on talktalk have thier phone and broadband off from 1pm to exactly 3pm today? (Irrelevant but interesting to know anyway).

I knew i'd ramble on this thread.

I eventually found a YES sopcast stream during HT :)

Can anyone provide us with a sopcast schedule and channel list?

2: Carroll (critic) was absolutely fantastic.
His determination and work ethic was great, he looked really fit and hungry and his control,touch and passing was sublime at times. Every one of those I have criticized him about. (but it's still one game)

It was great he got a yellow! Showed how eager he was.

Maybe he had a hard look at himself after Bellamy scored v Brighton? Who knows, but I thought he did superb, credit to him...he was terrible @ Exeter (Scored), today deserved to...Plenty of time at the end.

3. Good that Suarez was sulking at being subbed. Shows he wants to be out there.

Also it's a master man-management technique, to gear Suarez up. Treat em mean an all that.

Kenny doesn't want Suarez and Stevie on the pitch (to saughter) together just yet. I think Kenny wants/wanted Suarez to "observe" Stevie's style and Stevie as a player.

Chipkin9 (Eire)

This maybe the dullest post I've ever read on this site... What's happened to reds fans lately? Everyone here is either negative or borderline insane!

Have we got a choice? Can I pick borderline insane?

The only saving grace so far as this post is concerned is that it is so poorly written the vast majority of real fans will not bother wasting their time reading it.

Happy for the winning and scored again! Is important to gain more points in this championship! I felt really sad and sorry because I always want to help my team to win the match! Thanks for your support!
I think that answers anyones doubts, i think everyone was surprised he was subbed not least suarez but i think his anger was because he puts 110% into every game and always wants to play.RedTurk

A tweet makes up for a disgraceful and unprofessional display of childish tantrums in public? Are you alright? Do you think the club need this shyte attitude from a playing personell?
His attitude is a disgrace and total disrespect to the Liverpool FC and it should be stopped NOW.
I want to see a brilliant Suarez on the pitch but WITHOUT THE s**tTY ATTITUDE OFF IT.

Tbh i dont give damn about his attitude. he is one of the elite players in the world today n we r lucky to have him at our club.

I'm totally sick of the negativity on here. We won today, and yes, Wolves fought back in the 2nd half but we hit the post 2 or 3 times and we came through it. We played some good football, Carroll was much much better and overall we deserved the 3 points. I'd rather we come through a bit of a fight like that and win than against Bolton, where it was easy - we showed a bit if character. And I don't think the defence played badly... personally I thought Skrtel was mostly solid. But whatever, don't be satisfied; have a moan about it. Winning used to be a good feeling.

The only negativity was Suarez's s**tty attitude at being subbed. Plus our 2nd half dip in form. But a win is a win.
