Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

If we're seriously keen on Enrique then recent occurrences can only help our causes. The trail has gone seriously cold since the opening week of the window but that may have been Newcastle's previous high valuation.

Rome and Malaga have signed full backs and Arsenal don't seem interested at this stage. Therefore those previously interested clubs have moved on and that reduces a bidding war.

The player is seriously discontented and they'll lose his for £2 mil in Jan or nothing next summer. That plus the fact they'll be paying his substantial wages, means he has to
go and surely for the same price as Clichy.

I'm not convinced he's the best left back on the market but for the cost, EPL experience and scope to develop je may be the right option for us.

To the tossers who r linking us with names like van persie and lahm u need to wake up and smell the roses...u r throwing stupid comments around when this is supposed to be a source where lfc fans can talk realisticly and get excited for transfers or possible transfers to come..ed I feel for u having to deal with this on a daily basis..to the rest of u ynwa and let's push for that 4th spot and get midweek(not thursday) football back.

As yet its just speculation but I personally would not be surprised if Lucas did leave Liverpool, obviously it would be to a team half liverpools quality. I think that there are two strong reasons for me believing that this could happen: 1. Liverpool have just bought Charlie Adam and have an abundance of talented younger and more experienced players in the same position and 2. I just think that he has never quite shown enough quality to be a liverpool player in my opinion. So do not be surprised if he does leave Liverpool.
All of this being nice to Liverpool coming from a Chelsea fan, I might have to go and lie down, i think there is something seriously wrong with me

26 Jul 2011 23:25:46
Liverpool's transfer spending this summer is a worry, where do these players-and those coming up behind them-fit after Liverpool's big summer spending? Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing will provide much needed strength in depth, but will they keep out players who could have gained vital experience for the future? Will the youngsters who did so well at the back end of last season just be destined for bit-part appearances as substitutions and in the Carling Cup?

Marcell Jansen would be a exellent signing for liverpool. he has everything liverpool need from a winger/lbk.

Him pushing on would be great for liverpool. I hope we get him for £10million.

Ed, just a quick question. Which younge striker has more potential Marco Bueno, Nacho, Villyan Bijev or Morgan?

If the Ed's carnt answer could a fellow fan help becasue i have never seen any of them bar Morgan.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - And I have no ability to read the earlier answers.}

26 Jul 2011 23:16:16
all well signing young players, but liverpool any good at getting players through to the first time.

Its easy to put a person like gerrard into the first time because he all about power. we never see the Zola's of this world make it. Are we likely to create a beckham or a scholes.

What is being done to close the gap between first team/younger players.

Just so you all know, a number of clubs sing You'll Never Walk Alone ..... Feyenoord included i believe and i think Van Persie supported them as a lad ...... that cleared the silly rumors up ? I've also seen Graham Poll singing it on youtube but obviously he's going to sign for us too right ? Dont waste the ed's time with silly posts

JP {Ed009's Note - He used to play for Feyenoord too. Van Persie will not be moving to Liverpool, it is that simple.}

Hi all, I know i don't post much, heck some of them don't even get posted, but i would like to think that all of us pool supporters even the ones who are bitter and twisted who are about to turn into man utd fans, support one and all of the the team no matter who is in it even the ones without numbers or are leaving as they are still liverpool players, i understand why people call some players deadwood but it is not respectful, sometimes its not their fault. Take aquaman for example in this pre season he has shown all the qualities to be a brilliant midfielder and a lot of people have seen that, but he wants to go and is virtually gone now. was he deadwood, or what about jovanovic he has shown he doesn't have what it takes for a team like ours, maybe bolton or west brom or abroad, but at least he was willing to give it a go and take the knocks that come with the physicality of the prem. I implore everyone not to look at at players of our esteemed club as deadwood. We are better than that, We are Liverpool FC.

Everton have just been outbid by Leeds Utd for Preston's 58 year old keeper Andy Lonerghan...given that they couldn't find the £150,000 to secure the services of this old-aged wonderkid I have to ask whether Baines could be got at around £10m. The Blue-nosed hobos are obviously short of cash and maybe now's the time to steal their best players
Ten million would keep them in toffees for 3 years (at least) and would enable them to compete with Leeds Utd for the likes of 72-year-old Andy Lonergan from Preston

Andy Carroll reminds me of William Wallace.....i hope him and suarez make bits out of ferdinand and vidic this year...........and for everyone who gives out about ballotelli trying his flick, i respect him for how he mocked ferdinand when city bet them in the fa cup
And finally about Lucas, i think he will become a top player, only a few years ago he was on the bench getting booed when he came on and looked like he would be on his way, this is when alonso, mascherano and gerrard were starting, now hes one of our best players and a brazil regular
Hes like Kuyt, he never gives up and i believe he loves liverpool, and would never request to leave

To the Spuds fanny i mean fan, it was just a bit of fun. I dont think even the great Zidane has played against 4 players spliced together dilldo. Why did we finish a place behind you, you beat us twice yet your 50-1 to win the league and we're 11's, maybe because the bookies know what everyone else knows, you've had your one season of glory. Jug head on the left had a couple of good games and he was being compared to Messi. Maxi scored more and i'll take i punt because i've not checked but i'm sure he's got more then 1 assist to go to his name as well. Modric is going to Chelsea , King is recovering for another operation. You fluked your way into the C.League, probably put your life savings on you winning it because 'We always win something when the year ends in one'. And the sad thing is you really belived it as well you planks. You've been f***ed clean off to move to the Olympic stadium, and rightly so, even though you wanted to move miles to East London, tradition my runny poo pipe. See you on channel 5 in Uzbekistan on a wet and windy Thursday night and then watch you get your asse kicked on the Sunday afterwards on MOTD 2. You'll be lucky to finish in the top half and forget about the any kind of European football when you finish were Spuds rightly belong 9th or 10th at best. Jonson6

utd are crap they have a s**t team de gea is inexperienced and they may pay the price. if ferdinand and vidic were playing we would of had a pen probs. there team is getting old. evra-31 ferdinand-32 giggs-37 vidic -28 or 29. oh and if vidic is scared of torres, god help him when he meets suarez.

a question for lfc fans would lucas get into the first teams such as manu chelsea man city spurs arsenel no but he is lfc player of the seaon and what a shocking season it was remember any 1 and every one of lfc defence is not good enough , carragher , squad player , greek useless, agger, skirtle, glen, simply not winners .we need quality {Ed009's Note - Any one of our midfielders would probably make it in to United's midfield. Lucas is ten times better than Anderson, and his position in the national side shows this.}

Another step forward to JFT96

The Government has been ordered to publish documents revealing the discussions held by Margaret Thatcher about the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.

Information Commissioner Christopher Graham ruled that the information was in the public interest.

In a decision notice, he said: "Support for disclosure of information relating to the Hillsborough disaster was expressed by the previous government and has been reconfirmed by the current Government, and the commissioner also believes that the specific content of the information in question would add to public knowledge and understanding about the reaction of various parties to that event, including the government of the day, in the early aftermath."

Ninety-six Liverpool fans died in the crush at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield on April 15, 1989, where the club was playing an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest.

An inquiry found that the main reason for overcrowding was the failure of police control.

The commissioner's judgment may still be subject to an appeal, which would need to be lodged with the First-tier Tribunal (Information Rights) within 28 days.

If there is no appeal, the Cabinet Office has 35 days to comply with the order.

Mr Graham's judgment relates to a Freedom of Information request from the BBC more than two years ago, which was refused by the Cabinet Office.

This was followed by an internal review which upheld the refusal, prompting the complainant to ask the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) to review the request in September last year.

In his judgment, the commissioner hit out at the Cabinet Office for "unjustified and excessive" delays.

He ordered the Government to publish information relating to the Hillsborough disaster provided to Mrs Thatcher, then prime minister, and the minutes of meetings she attended on the matter.

What are your thoughts on anelka
He would be great backup for suarez and Carroll
And could even push for a starting place.
He is experienced and we should be able to bring
Him back to anfield pretty cheap.
Ed your thoughts?

Liverpool have also been in contact with bayern munich, concerning Phillipp Lahm, a fee hasn't yet to be agreed, but it is thought to be around 18-20 million, possibly a few players going in the opposite direction.trusted source."

LFC ARE SOOOO TIGHT
sign a damn left back for christ sake instead of leaving glen johnson to play there...its pathetic that they have taken so long to sort this out. the young kid robinson aint ready yet....and johnson is better as a right winger...which would place kuyt where he belongs upfront........its not rocket science.
i dont care what anyone says....stop placeing lfc as a top team............cos they are not........the name is......the quality is mid-table......cant even afford a left back...its embarassing

and you expect a top 4 finish this year?...really??

'Glory Glory Man United'. What a soulless, synthesised anthem for a football club. Club anthems reflect the ethos of the club. All it does is reinforce the stereotype of Manchester United's arrogance and plastic fans, mindlessly regurgitating that commercialised song whose sole purpose is to try and replicate the atmosphere of Anfield at Old Trafford. Liverpool's reflects community and pulling through together, especially following the two disasters.

A lot of people on here saying mascherano better than lucas. My personal opinion I was pretty happy when we got 18m for him and thought we robbed barca, my opinion is vindicated by the fact he can't get a game at barca in his natural position and busquets isn't even that good either.

Lucas works harder than mascherano, is more professional than mascherano. Doesn't tackle as hard as mascherano but is a more successful an cleaner tackler. He is a better short range passer than mascherano and is also not a red card waiting to happen like him.

Id have lucas anytime and I was one of the people wanting him out 2-3 years ago. More importantly lucas NEVER refuses to play. No contest.

Hi everyone from the sunny island of Singapore. I'm a first-time poster and I've been hooked onto this site since time immemorial. I'm a huge fan of Liverpool FC and love everything to do with the club. I've stuck with Liverpool through thick and thin, even when we down 3-0 at the Ataturk Stadium and when we were languishing in the relegation zone under Roy Hodgson.

I believe that Liverpool are on the rise and that we will be a force to be reckoned in the BPL in the coming season. I just cannot wait for us to take on Sunderland. If Suarez continues his rich vein of form and links up well with Carroll, we would have a deadly strike partnership which would terrorise defences. Hopefully, the other new signings would also gel well with the team and Liverpool would have a very productive campaign with true British grit.

Anyway, I only have 2 things to bring up. First of all, I would just like to say that what makes Liverpool FC so famous is not its illustrious history. It is the die-hard fans of Liverpool that make Liverpool world-renown. When an opposition team lines up at Anfield (from what I see on the telly), the Kop singing in full voice surely sends jitters down their spines. As such, Liverpool fans should stand behind their team, even if we are getting thrashed or playing awfully. The Kop, acting as a 12th man (we don't need Howard Webb), can surely galvanise the players if difficult situations. I also feel that we should support our players even if they are underperforming. So long as they wearing their badges with pride and playing to the best of their abilities, I am satisfied with their effort. I simply cannot stand 'fans' who slate the players, even when some of them have barely played for Liverpool FC. We need to get behind the team if we want Liverpool to be successful, and in so doing, bring back the heyday of the '80s. I admit that initially, I wasn't entirely convinced of 1 or 2 of Kenny Dalglish's signings, but he's the manager and I fully support him. His track record speaks for himself and he's Liverpool through and through. IN KK WE TRUST

Lastly, I just would like to know why Liverpool fans in Britain seem to have a profound dislike of the Sun (or rather the S*n?) I admit that as a 16 year-old from Singapore, I am not really well-versed in Liverpool's rich history. Did the Sun publish something criticising Liverpool fans/players or something? I hope I don't get slated for being an ignorant twit.

I also think that as Liverpool fans, we should be united as one, regardless of our skin colour or origin, Scouser or otherwise.

P.S. Last time I checked, 18+5>19+3

YNWA sin16 {Ed009's Note - Nobody will insult you simply for asking a question, I can assure you of that. The Sun falsely reported the Hillsborough disaster, incorrectly alleging that it was caused by the hooliganism of the Liverpool fans. On top of that the paper is quite simply a terrible publication. Racist, Misogynistic and overtly right wing, I wouldn't even discrace my fish and chips by wrapping them in it.}

The United team Liverpool beat in March didn't have Ferdinand (Injured), Vidic (Suspended), Park (Injured), Fletcher (Virus) & Valencia (Injured), even Nani was injured in the second half. That's half a team missing.

Lets not forget Nani & VDS assisted two of the goals and Suarez wouldn't have been able to get into the box with Ferdinand & Vidic on the field. A full strength United team playing against a full strength Liverpool team there would only be one winner, and it's not Liverpool.

***************************************

Your a complete muppet liverpool have sadly had a seriously weak side for quite a few years so for you to say if UTD had this and that player Liverpool would have lost Suarez made fools of UTD so get over it your just jealous cos he's a super elite player and LFC got him

Liverpool would have the best centre back in the world if we could splice them all together. Carra's intelligence, experience and organisational skills. Agger's footballing ability, coolness on the ball and distribution. Skirtle's toughness and relyability not to get sent off or miss games through injury and Soto's ability in the air and his strength, plus god loves a tryer. Morph together and their you have it, the ultimate centre half. Not much happening re transfers coming in so anyone agree. Jonson6

Suarez is just as important to Liverpool as Messi is to Barcelona and has been a great buy.

I think all the players that KD & DC have brought in have got plenty to add to the squad including great attitude.

Will you all STOP this rubbish about Lucas leaving. It come's from THAT newspaper not one Liverpool supporter is SUPPOSED to read.
In a VERY SLOW news day for transfers, THAT newspaper has re-hashed a story from some 18 months ago where Lucas was struggling for form and his place in the team.
Since then the boy has IMPROVED no end, even though he is continually played out of position. He never moans, gets on with his job, just signed a NEW contract and expressed his desire to come BACK to Liverpool and meet his new team mates.
Take no notice of THAT newspaper reports, 90% plus of what they write turn's out to be wrong and the vast majority of what they get right tends to be straight forward reporting AFTER an event has happend.

i have just read the worst post of my life, calling lucas a liabilty and he can't tackle....thats why he made the most successful tackles in the league last season. This hole rumour came from the S*n the fact that some of you have paid attention to this shows you aren't Liverpool fans

Think I said back at the start of the month that one of our big gun midfielders would be off (no credit for that btw) and so it could be.

Lucas Leiva will be a loss and I would like him to stay - but where the hell will be play? The issues I mentioned weeks ago has come to pass: too many midfielders and not enough spaces We knew we were reshaping the side, but what has happened to the central defender and striker we certainly need?

I was bemused by reading Paul Tompkins' feature the other day. Despite being a generally interesting writer, I was aghast when he said we hadn't yet bought anyone who 'a Brazilian style winger.' Jesus Have a single name that ends in an 'o' and the world thinks your the best thing ever .... ever Very disillusioned to read that from Tompkins.

What he should have said was that we have not signed a striker that could score in the absence of our two main men. We also need a strong (physical) defender with a bit more creativity than Kyr'os and more robust than Agger.

W.T.f*** are some fans on about compareing Jay Spearing to Lucas, we all love local lads who break through, and i do rate Jay. But no were near as good as Lucas. Lucas had to put up with more abuse from the crowd and the red's that dont get to Anfield then any young player then anybody else including N'Gog. Taken exceptional mental strength to be converted from an attacking/orthedox midfielder to a top class holding/defensive mid and be the best player on the park for Brazil in most of the games in the Copa America . Yes he does give the odd foul or two away but he's still learning the art of the position. And for all his fouls he commited, he also made more succeseful tackles then anyone else in the Prem last season.Worth 30mil no, crucial for Liverpools success next season, a big massive YES. Ed002, thanks for your answer but i was just going off what i've read on rumours and banter, i know you never implied it but ye, i think its a bit strange myself that stories that have been printed in the paper your on about, their seems to be a lot of folk who by their posts do read it. I do agree with you as well that you've defended our players as much and you you support Chelsea, dont know if i signed the post re John Aldridge but i do think the more people who do the better, people will take their opinions more seriously i think especially the ones having a go at players for no reason then we can have a constructed debate. It really pisses me off when they just rip a player then dont sign off. Jonson6

HI ED any news on any left backs coming into the club on loan or either permanent and also was quite worried about the lack of creative players coming into the club i still believe if we made a move for alexis sanchez a few months earlier we could have bought him 23 million man what a bargain and we pay 20 million for downing errrmm not good business in my eyes, so what if he crossed in 300 balls into the box last year i do not remember darren bent scoring that many headers last season does anyone agree that he was bad business also not overly sure about adam and henderson and the keeper didnt look top notch either did he once again the liverpool faith ful will be fooled into thinking these signings being great team players but what i want to know is when the yanks took over they said they would buy exciting young prospects well i think comolli and dalglish have just bought who they believe are good prospects well i believe they are leading us into trouble no bargains and no exciting young players just feel a little disspointed in the signings i thought the owners said they wanted to be like arsenal and i didnt see arsenal chasing any of our signings that hard i mean charlie adam hah it just makes me laugh 20 million for downing jesus even ashley young cost 16 once again man united will be laughing all the way to the title i was not impressed with our performance against hull thought there was no depth in our squad at all and alot of crap to get out of anfield if carragher is not replaced with an better centre half this season i will be upset its like asking gary neville to still be playing you have to realise when its time to fade yourself into the back ground this year will be heavily put upon luis suarez and steven gerrard because these are the only 2 players that are real quality do not like andy carroll one bit i predict a 7th-9th place finish to our season mark my words. Thats how positive i feel about our team and kenny lost his magic back in the 80's im sorry but thats how i feel. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new on the left back situation I am afraid. There was zero chance of Alexis Sanchez joining Liverpool at all - particularly at anything like 23M. There was a January meeting with Chelsea in Monaco and broad agreement was reached over the transfer of Sanchez before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions at that time. After that we know exactly what happened - but Liverpool were never in that loop.}

That deadbeat blonde Poulsen and the useless bugger Ngog are starting to get on my nerves now.
For h***'s sake You not good enough. Take pay cuts, get on yer bikes and hit the road, you parasites

Ed002, I wanted to get your take on this.
We've seen the Russian club Anzhi coming into the game with some serious intentions.
We've seen them bring in one of the brightest talents in Balazs Dzsudzsak on a very attractive package. A fantastic move for Balazs, I must say.

So I want to know what you think about Anzhi's prospects of attracting some of the best talents in the world.
I've said before that I'd like to see the likes of Aguero, Sneidjer, Neymar, Sanchez, Hazard, Goetze, Ganso and many other top players give serious consideration to plying their trades in the Russion league.

With the refreshing emergence of Anzhi, the rewards and perks of playing there couldn't be more great.

But, oddly, very few top calibre players seem to be interested. Why you do think that is, ed?
Could the situation perhaps be better in 2-3 years time?
Are we going to see more and more top/high profile players moving there?

I hope Anzhi can be the catalyst, the defining moment.
Very rewarding league that one.
The times could be very exciting for Russian football.

Burmeister {Ed002's Note - The argument is that it will take Anzhi at least two years to be where they want to be - it is Manchester City all over again. It is not an attractive option to many of the younger players so you may well see a few older players joining Roberto Carlos there initially. A 100M euro verbal bid for Neymar and Ganso was flatly turned down. Once they establish themselves you may well see the younger players starting to make their way to Russia.}

I've only posted on here two times before. First time funnily enough was when Aquilani was going to Juventus on loan.

Theres so much speculation surrounding his future at the minute but the ed's have done all they can to share their information with us. I have no sources or contacts what so ever but the ed's seem pretty clued up on his situation. They wouldn't say the things they do if they we're sure about it. Yet people are still saying he's staying or going to be playing for a team in the Premier League next season. I for one would love to see him stay, in pre-season he has looked really sharp and orchestrated that final pass we've been missing since Xabi left. But it seems pretty clear that Aquilani doesn't want to be here, no matter how well he plays. As the ed's have said numerous times he really wants to play in Italy. We should just cut our losses and allow the other CM's we have take on that role. Don't forget we also have the likes of Suso coming through (who I think will be a great player in a few years time).

Have faith in the club, management and most importantly the players. YNWA

If Lucas was sold, it really wouldn't be a big loss, he's an average player that stood out in a poor midfield last year and i'd much prefer M.Sissoko or De Jong. So if he goes, no big deal if he stays okay fine.
Anyway regarding another winger, I really dont see why we hav'nt followed up our former interest in Turan(12-15m), Affelay(4-10m), Deigo(12-15m) and Bryan Ruiz(12-14m). They are all reasonably priced, skillful, pacey, exciting players all with good dribbling ability. I think one of these along with one of Jansen/Cissokho, Negredo/Munian, Godin/Coates and Sissoko/Dejong (if lucas leaves), would make us much stronger in most departments.

Comd on fellow reds see it as a compliment that clubs are interested in our players. I know he's not a like for like player per se but the only of player in the Prem who can play that role as well as Lucas in my i.m.o is the is the unfortunate Michael Essien. No one else comes close as far as i'm concerned. Ed002 if you've answered this question recently fair enough i'll have another look, but do you not think with us alredy leaking goals even though they were friendly's, and with us needing a centre half, would not say that it would be a big, big mistake if we got rid of Lucas? I also cant understand that people have already started blaming Commoli and if he does go he'll get the blame. I'm sure K.K would tell Comoli to piss off if he tried selling him. If Lucas did go which he wont, K.K would defo of have to O.K'd it, theirs no way he'd put up with players being sold behind his back. So come on i think Comoli has matured himself from his Spurs days.I think i'm gonna do my rating's like an exam and think Commoli gets a B+ from me anyway, think he's done a better job then some of us give him credit far. No one has ever been or ever will be bigger then Liverpool FC re of who comes and goes during this window. Jonson6 {Ed002's Note - I actually think Lucas is a good player that Liverpool have played out of position but he has settled in to it well. You will find that I have stood up for the Liverpool players as the rather fickle fans spew hate on one or more each week during the season. A hint of Reina leaving and the fans want to kick him to death; Johnson, Lucas, Aquilani, pre-hat trick Maxi, Kuyt another favourite figure of hate, Konchesky, Sylvain Marveaux got a lot of abuse even before he signed - the list goes on. However, from a story that originated in a paper that Liverpool fans supposedly do not read, I am surprised at the level of credibility being given to it. It is likely that Aquilani will be gone tomorrow so the hate brigade and schoolkids can switch to him. As for Comolli, we will see.}

Please tell me that the Liverpool fan on here who is saying Lucas is worth 30 million and one of the top 5 players in the world and best holding midfielder in the EPL is on drugs. He is a average player who stood out in a extremely poor season in a poor midfield with no Gerrard and the king of holding midfielders Mascherano. He can't tackle he always fouls in dangerous areas of the pitch. He passes are most of the time sideways. He has no pace and he is too lightweight on the ball....if we get offered 10 million I would snap it off there hand off. Spearing is better than Lucas and I don't rate Spearing either. The majority True Liverpool fans who go the game who are scousers like me all agree he is over achieved in a poor midfield last season. He will face stiffer competition with Adan and when fully fit Gerrard, who I think will operate the holding midfield role.

Why are there rumours about Pacheco leaving permanently, even if it was true it would be a dum move He has excelled in reserves and on loan at Norwich and from the start one of the most promising talents coming through the ranks I think lfc should keep, give him a game here and there along with sub appearances and we may not here the last of this lads name Been very impressed from what I have seen of him Check out some of his goals for the reserves or norwich Probs on YouTube

Mario Balotelli... WOW, good to see Citeh's future looking bright ey... what an absolute f*****g joke that backheel was, do these tw*ts understand that they will never be a part of a trophy winning team??, talented as he may be, he is just trying to lose the respect of his team-mates, THIS is why KK is being careful with the players he brings in, talent is very important, but so is having the respect of your team-mates. Balotelli will go NOWHERE in his career. He is the perfect example of why we should avoid egotistical footballers. Really shows the priorities of man city too, publicity over football, and some of their fans are actually happy about Balotelli's antics over the last year... If a liverpool player did that, or even a family member i'd make it very known how disappointed i was... I'm stunned by this and i am also fearful of where the ridiculous sums of money could potentially take this beautiful game... what a joke...

I'd rather of had Barry in his prime than Lucas.
Lucas has improved a lot no doubt but let's not get to carried away.

For once and all lucas is mile better then de jong. The way de jong tackels he will put someone in hospital.end of discussion on this topic.
Secondly the more attacking we get the more we need a player like him.
Also I am honest I did not like him in first season as many lfc fans also did not.but he won us over with his attitude which is more then how torres treated us and stabbed us in bag.
You can get money for players like this but its difficult to replace them.hope we have learned from alonso saga.

If Luca Modric Is Worth 30m, Lucas Is Worth 25m, and De Jong, Is worth more than him, Sorry, but he's another mascerano, Lucas Gets Stuck In, and plays a quiet, but vital role in front of the defence, but I think perhaps

Lucas & Adam

Will Struggle when Compared To

Mascerano & Alonso

so Perhaps Lucas Will Be Sold To Be Replaced? Maybe its not just a coincidence that we may be selling him as De Jong has Rejected a contract from city?

There is NO such thing as coincidence However, I would struggle to see how we would fit the lot in? i think KK should of waited to see who was coming and going before we spent 20m on Henderson?

Generally once most EPL teams have named there squads for the coming season, the players not included are offered to clubs on loan, I know for example a few championship clubs on tight budgets will wait to see which players dont make the squads then offer a loan move.

2 questions - 1st When do the squads need to be submitted to the PL & FA and 2nd Which of our players do you think will head out on loan.

NS {Ed002's Note - Final squads September 1 and February 1. As for loans, no decisions will have been taken.}

I just want to express a critical point about this transfer window, as I am becoming quite dazed by all those supporters who have been complaining of a lack of 'marquee' signings, drawing up their wishlists and throwing their bottles out when we sign apparent lesser talents like Adam, Downing & Henderson.

I'd like to first of all point out that I do agree with the fact that we have perhaps overpaid for Downing & Henderson. Although, in Henderson's case, we are clearly paying for potential and a future England enforcer. It's worth pointing out that the tabs, such as & Football365, as much as I love them, put the higher end of the price up in their articles, as it creates more drama and sells more rags, which is what they're interested in. In reality, we probably paid the same for Downing & Hendo as ManSpew paid for Young & Jones. Considering we've got 2 proven English players, top of their clubs in previous seasons, and we want to be competing with ManPoo, I suggest this is good business... Which leads perfectly into my initial point (although I'm sure anyone who would disagree would've lost interest and started reading the next bit of banter, short attention spans they must have).

I have been so very happy with this transfer window, because we are FINALLY getting the targets our manager wants Consider how different things would've been 5 years ago, if Simao had gotten on that plane, jumped to Mersey & we'd forked out the extra couple mil to land Rafa's #1 wing target... For SO LONG we have had to settle for his second, third or fourth choice targets. We have been a laughing stock in the transfer market, with the only top acquisition Rafa purchasing during his glory years being Torres.

Even my mate, a Spurs supporter, has his annual go at us 'bin dippers'. Even though they weren't shopping in the gourmet food section, they were still getting the targets they wanted. Finally though, an owner has come along willing to back our boss, with the belief that he has a grand plan. Who knows, maybe there will be a suprise or two left in this window. Or maybe we've already reinforced the squad sufficiently enough in Kenny's eyes to push for a top 4 spot...

Either way, I'll be salivating with anticipation as the new season comes around, fully trusting in Kenny that we're gonna turn heads & have a serious impact this season.

JUst been thinking, we have one up on most of the other teams vying for top 4, in that we could sign anyone in January and not worry about them being cup tied, this means we should have a strong season as if things arent going well up until Jan, we could make a big signing to finish the season with a flourish.

Am i the only one who isn't that pleased with the signings we have made ? I am over the moon that we signed suarez and adam, 2 quality players that will be even better wearing the red of liverpool, but henderson ? cant see him being a big star in the future to be honest, just a decent player really, wilshere, rodwell, cleverley all better. Carroll very good player, very inconsistent 35 million ? and downing is sooo over rated The only reason he gets a mention is because he is the only decent left footed english player in the country again 20 million For me we could of got better quality players for the money we have spent....
Saying that im not all negative i do think we will finish 4th Just hopes KK doesn't buy anymore overpaid pampered english player's and goes for more raw talented, hungrier player's in europe
