we have been in talks with Mata they were (positive) so i think we will actually get him! Ashley Young is Man Utd bound! The Aguero talk is like this, LFC are willing to pay the buyout clause but no more! its down to the player really! is preferred team is real but they don't want to sign him! YNWA

Isn't the aguero talk going to real bit crazy?? It's bit like gerrard going to manure, or the freak green fat headed oga shrek comin to Liverpool

Evening chaps

There is tons of players names being put forward as possible Liverpool targets. Just want to put forward a couple of points. First KD has said all transfers will be carried out behind closed doors (the Liverpool way). Second Pepe SG and JC have all recently pledged the futures to the mighty reds. Saying they are looking forward to next season. Pepe is the most significant of these as he is a top top keeper and has had the opportunity to leave for champions league football. a host of clubs would take him that will all be playing in the CL next season. However he has said (after speaking with KD and DC) that Liverpool Football Club is the place he wants to be and it has a bright future. The meeting has clearly identified some targets for next season and plans going forward. This is a great indication of the ambition of the owners and shows that we are looking at quality players to bring in.

...........................i am sorry to given peopel false hope but it was to test how quick FAKE rumors spread......i am really sorry...................i think the right bid might acctully actully bring him to anfild

RED4LIFE

Yes Red4life, because prior to your social experiment there were no rumours about Aguero moving to us. In fact, I had never even heard of him!

By the way, even when you owned up your spelling didn't improve any.

I do think it is possible, if we want him. It wasn't long ago he was saying how much he loved Liverpool, and he was over here a few weeks ago with his good friend Maxi, we can but hope. If we can justify £35m on Carroll we can justify £40m on Kun, get part of his commercial rights and get him in time for our Asia tour, he will almost pay for himself!

Just thought id share my suggestions to you all,
First, if they are unsure about enrique's defense, why not by him for a fairly good price, and keep insua, i think he deserves another chance in the prem, instead of spending 20mil on controa.
Also, aquilani i think should have another year in the team, if not adam is a sound choice, but a CM is not really needed with gerrard, lucas, spearing and shelvey!
Scott dann, good CB, and obviously the villa wingers or mata would be perfect for the squad!
And instead of spending 40 mill on aguero, why not get owen- he scores practically everytime he plays for united!

I have a solid source known as majellen.

He said we are Defoe gonna sign somebody from the Jermaine League.

He came across as a bit of a silly Billy, but i reckon this source is actually pretty Sharp.

He said we definitely won't be Russian any transfers, and we'll take our time. Then he drove off in his Honda.

I know this post isn't very Long, but it'll make good Reading.

He reckons we're gonna sign a proper big Charlie.

YNWA! (Adam)

Official! CHARLIE ADAM has stated he is leaving bloomfield road in the summer cause he wants to stay in the premier league Hmm...........Which club is he goin to go to???

Been thinking about the finish to the season, it appears to me that once it was mathematically impossible to obtain a CL spot, the option to not compete for a europa spot was I think, done for a reason.

The financial fairplay rules start next week but I believe LFC have put a bit of a strategy behind this....from what i can grasp from the rules, by not being in a UEFA tournament it gives them another year to spend big before having to conform and show compliance.
Hence I feel we will see a few big signings this summer before the belt is tightened, but it may just mean the likes of Citeh and Chelsea can't spend their megabucks this summer

>
When the new rules are fully enforced, clubs will only be allowed to enter European competition if their generated revenues -- money from sources such as television rights, gate receipts, competition prize money and sponsorship -- is equal to or greater than their expenditure

left-back and wingers seem to be the priorities but left-back seems to be the main position King Kenny wants to strengthen. Out of Izzaguire (spelling), Enrique and Coentrao, which you think will sign in your opinion?

Can someone, please, explain to me what it means: that Blackpool "unilaterally decided to take up the option of prolonging his deal" (C. Adam's) by 12 months??? Doesn't he have to agree? I consulted my source (FM 2011) but didn't get any reply...

Mata 18m
Aguero 40m
conceatro 25m
total cost 83m

recoup approx 30m for cole, jovanovic, aqualani, insua, poulson.

53m outlay in total.
================================
i see your point that we need to splash out on a few players rather than spend the money on loads of mediocre players. however the money could be spent a bit more wisely. if i was to buy just 3 players like you have they would be.
mata 20m
benzema 25m
enrique 7m
total cost 52m
also we would be very lucky to get 30m for those players, more like 20m
so outlay would be 32m
but i would also like downing as well, and maybe a new cb, and central midfielder.
hope our new owners have deep pockets haha

Hi Ed,

Very disappointed that we are not linked with Arda Turan.

The Turkish Messi.

Nice job eds.

I believe he was on the radar as ed suggests but this was before christmas. The plan has changed now. FSG will put in substantial funds this summer to sign at least 3 world class players. I'm not saying that turan is not good enough, he's brilliant, but I think big money will be spent on other players this summer for a number of reasons:

1. LFC has been starved of spending top dollars in the last 4 seasons, due previous owners using it for debt repayment. Now that we are almost free of debt interest payments, a lot of money will need to spent wisely to get top players in.

2. January net spending was nearly nil. i.e. Torres & Babel out...Suarez & Carroll in. FSG have yet to 'invest' their own money for signings.

3. The financial fair play rules will soon kick in. I believe that most clubs will spend big this summer, as its the final curtain call for big spending.

4. LFC was sold at 300m which seemed undervalued perhaps? Investing another 100m or so on players wouldn't be that big deal for FSG. I guess this point would be debateable...

26 May 2011 22:44:16
i know that Coentrao is coming to Liverpool for 25million pounds. It was on the website but there's another thing I don't like Liverpool are only getting 50 million pounds to spend on the summer and where going to spend half of the money on him. Ok he is a highly rated defender but Kenny is thinking of buying Mata charlie Adam Agureo, young Gerviniho, Diego, Enrique, gray, Cahill scott Dann, phil jones, stewart downing, Steven Defour, and Charles N'zogbia wow i have just said over 100million ponds of signings think of it and we have 50 million pounds. {Ed002's Note - No Coentrao I am afraid.}

This used to be called the close season - now it is just the silly season!! I can't understand the desire that some people have to post ridiculous rumours and so-called banter. The worst part is that you actually put this garbage on to the site.I have no idea who Liverpool are going to release and to sign and can't understand the mentality of some of the postees. Players are being criticised for not being good enough but I think if you look back you will see that nobody had heard of the likes of Molby, Alsonso and Hyypia plus a few others and they all fitted in and came good. I personally think the the transfer windows should be done away with all together and that footballers had the same rights as the rest of us to changer jobs whenever we were in agreement with our present and prospective employers. It will happen one day because some footballer will follow the example of Bosman (pronounced Boss-man and not Bozman) and take his case to the European Court. The sooner the better in my opinion (some- time referred to as iom by some of the postees on this site. Good luck to Barcelona on Saturday.

if there is 1 quality player avaible 2 us it as 2 be arda turan.this guy is awesome he will run epl with the squad we already av.not just the fact he is lfc fan.but the way he plays.on par with messi and 2 get him ere i think he cud possibley be greater than messi.lets face it if u cud play 4 us what wud u give.nuff said.bring him and bring silverwere epl ours next season.ynwa

Hi Ed Great site, as for our summer targets, I think we need to aim for the sky if we are to do what we say were going to do next season, I don't claim to know kk gardener or anything like that but I think we are still a big enough club to sign world class players like Aguero, Coentaro, I think these are the players we need to take us to the next level. Don;t get me wrong Im not saying players of the calibre such as Adam and N'zogbia wouldn't improve the squad but you can bet The Mancs and Chelsea will not be signing players of this calibre. I am very much looking forward to the summer and all the ins and out. In Kenny we trust

As I stated earlier givemefootball stated Lfc to be frontrunners 4 aguero. Ed's any info why we would b deemed frontrunners?

Seems more realistic chelski or citeh with there funds avail & tevez potentially going or aguero to partner Torres if drogba leaves, so why av us leading the chase?

Jimbob {Ed002's Note - I have no idea why they said that, but Liverpool are not heading any race right now.}

Helo ed, quick question that's puzzled me for a
While. Under gerrard houlier (I think) wr signed a player called Jean Michelle Ferrari (sp?) can't remember how much for am I right in saying he never played for the first team? Was he any good? Bizarre question I know. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Oh man, I can't help but maybe one of the regular posters can.}

Scott Dann
Fabio Coentrao
Charlie Adam
Juan Mata / Stewart Downing / Sylvan Marvuex
Sergio Aguero

26 May 2011 22:24:17
Ed's in light of my EPL Home Grown Quota post (pushed to banter). It is apparent we definately need 1 or 2 Home Growns to fulfill the EPL quota rules, who's the most probable at this time. I'm assuming that Adam is still about a 7 and Downing at last count is about a 5 but who else have we actually enquired about who qualify as Home Grown??
Baines
Wright-Phillips
Young
??!! Barton ??!!
Cahill
Dann
yes no answers would be appreciated. {Ed002's Note - Adam is not home grown.}

26 May 2011 21:49:16
ed would we have made any profit this year instead of it going towards debt?also someone said we were awarded 11m for finishing 6th.so add that to say 30m player sales gives us 41m so any profit to add on to that.cheers DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - There would be a lot of savings as the interest payments are not being made, but there were one off fees for changing management etc still to be taken in to account. Deduct about another £20M from failung to be in the Champions League and I don't think this is going to be a winning year financially.}

Super injunction banter:

Does anyone here feel that newspapers are manipulating the legal system/ TV media/ Twitter in order to break super injunctions. People have a right to privacy

The public is able to gossip about what they think is going on in forums. Lets face it, mental retards like us hang out in forums. So that is less than 100k of population.

Newspapers want go back to days of Sunday muck stories and hassling anyone famous. Does anyone here really care who is sleeping with who.

Sorry to be logical rather than massively speculative.
Assuming Konch (& his mum) are leaving. We r left with
Johnson, Gerrard, Carroll, Carra, Spearing, Kelly i.e. 6 Home Growns most expect to stay with Darby & J.Cole the only other Home Growns - neither of which are assured to stay or make the EPL Quota.
The club will not be oblivious to this and that's why KK & DC will want Adam + 1 other (probably Downing if the speculation is to be believed, although for the purposes of Quota fulfillment I'd happily take Baines instead). n.b. Phil Jones would be a nice addition as he's full of promise and under 21.
KK knows that the British Grit in Defensive positions makes sense and the craft flair and vision (coupled with a strong work ethic/ passion) can be drafted in further up field from foreign leagues, I'm sure that KK & DC will be looking for players from either a technically strong league or another less obvious gem (ala Mr Merieles).
I know everyone is bleating about it but the strength and ability of Aguero (provided he has sufficient passion for the move) would be a perfect fit for the EPL.
Please remember when posting your whimsical wishful speculations that KK knows what a player needs to fulfil the LFC way. And as he has already stated players who appreciate what the club stands for and want to join will have to prove to KK they understand the honour of playing for our great club.

If Kun understands these sentiments he will want to come and will be welcomed by us all.

I have it on good authority that Ken Aguero is signing for us.
How do I know you ask? Im having a pint with him right now. He just ordered a round of Tequilla, and is chattin up the barmaid.
Hes a good laugh actually. Hes wearing a liverpool Jersey.
Oh sh#t, Alex Fergerson just walked in the door, with Giggs. Competition for the Barmaid is going to hot up.
Updates to follow.......This is going to be an interesting night.

I don't really care who we get in any-more. Its just pointless guessing. I just want LFC to recreate the one touch football we saw at the fulham game. We need another creative midfield player that likes to play one touch attacking football (from French league*) Meireles injury finished Liverpool's chances of 4spot finish. We need to find a Fabregas

He still lacking crossing ability on both wings. Two attacking full-backs would allow a midfield to get on with it in the centre. I like the style of play. I never thought liverpool would ever play like that again. Its been a odd 25 years. The performance levels under Rafa where poor Boring football.

26 May 2011 21:55:54
Balague on Torres >>> Fully fit but head not right, finding Chelsea very different to Atleti & Liverpool. Needs to find a way to integrate himself into the club more & rediscover his love for the game.

Was asked to stay at Liverpool last Summer to help to sell the Club.

Put it this way (and I think the Eds will agree) nobody knows who we are gonna sign unless you are KK , DC or the other club involved ! Fact is everyone posting they know who we are gonna sign are wrong because we are doing it THE LIVERPOOL WAY !Agree anybody? Ed(s)? {Ed001's Note - I do agree, I am getting everything I know from outside the club these days, almost without exception.}

26 May 2011 21:31:47
Ed 2, ur a star, how u put up with some of the rubbish from posters is beyond me! Lads n lasses, taxi drivers, ez swet handlers, doggers near Melwood an all other psychics - please stop posting lies, it's just wrong. Years ago my mate came to the conclusion that Houlier would sign Zidane as he was his coach when younger and he had been to his house in lpool so it was on the cards - I wanted to believe it but it never happened just like most of the speculation on here last few days, just stop now and you won't look like muppets later. Be patient, have faith an we will sign strength an depth. Oh no wait a minute , I've just looked out my window on ullet road an aguero is outside with kk and he's said he'll sign for £60 mil an £500k a week oh an a private helicopter just landed from Porto, an f@"k me, messi is the pilot with falcao the passenger an they both want to sign for us, sorry I was so wrong to doubt you all x

26 May 2011 21:38:04
by the end of this transfer window. will we know who was a better in the market place?

Rafa Vs KK

>>>>i think Rafa added value tot the clubs playing staff. He built the squad up to 2 from 6 out of 10

26 May 2011 21:31:34
Great site shame all these idiots are making it worse by putting all the b****hit about augero and contrall (or how ever u spell it ) maybee u should do a page just for them two players !!

I reckon we will get few players but I think we should go for
Dann, baines, downing, a johnson, Adam, benzema

I would like to c us have a great partnership at back that's injury free dann and Kelly maybee ??

On wings two great players that can play either side and cut in and even take on players

Cm with great vision and passing ability can also deliver a good corner some also amazin at free kicks ( ping of a lefty)

Also a different proven striker that can give different options to keep all the other teams guessing how were gonna play

Any comments are welcome
Come on u reds gonna be epic next season YNWA !!!
Adzybayour !

26 May 2011 21:35:54
Why are people saying we don't need Aguero. We certainly need another quality striker i we want to challenge, its strength in depth up front thats just allowed Utd to knock us off our perch!! Whether it be Aguero, Lavezzi, Lukuku, Gomez, we need another striker as we willnever be challenging for anything if we have to factor Ngog into any squad rotation. Note -

26 May 2011 21:33:39
The only thing more laughable than some of the rumours on here are some of the reactions that the comments receive.

Every transfer window is the same, and very rarely anything that is rumoured on these pages comes true. The odd nugget of truth comes thru now and again.

How about a bit of patience all this over-speculating can only lead to disappointment.

26 May 2011 21:06:16
It may be unlikely but if you look at the evidence there is no reason we shouldnt expect FSG to invest money in the club. We pay Cole 90k a week, surely if he gets 90k then aguero would be worth twice that at least?
They paid 22m for Suarez, 35m for Carroll. So why not a similar figure for another player?

We probably wont get Aguero but it doesnt mean we wont invest similar sums into other players. They have also said plenty of times all transfers are reviewed indiviually, if a player is necessary or wanted they will try and get him.

Those saying Comolli is silly for offering 4m for enrique are stupid. What should he do? steam in there with 30m? His tactics for negotiating are solid this time. In business when buying you start low and work up to a compromise, likewise when selling you start high and work to a lower compromise. This is simple stuff.

I think to many people are expecting a massive amount of money being spent but even with the new owners backing liverpool i don't think we can be spending 38 mil+ on a other striker for augero but elia and downing look in are budget for sure.

Dunno why people are so intent on signing aguero or hazard or sanchez. What we need is true tested prem league players, adam has 1 full season of prem football ( and half of that is good aswell!) Jose enrique has got prem and championship experience ( not even gerrard can boast that), jarvis has a year too. What we need is british players that have passion for the shirt and are fans, players like robbie keane and michael owen.
So please stop the yearning for rubbish foreign imports as their brilliant dribbling, one touch passing, fluid movement are nothing when compared to the passion, pride and good old fashioned english work ethic like david batty

I don't know why all these big marquee names are being floated around. Its a repeat of January, Commollis scurrying around trying to pick pocket privilaged chairman of their assets, £4 million for Enrique!! There was a sudden 'U' turn in the percieved valuation of Suarez when the russian money came in for Torres, ironically Suarez valuation went from £11 mill to £19 mill overnight. We were told that money wasn't an issue providing the player held value, i.e age, potential marketing etc., doesn't Aguero fit the bill, 23 years of age, south american merchandising market!! Looks like the big boys are out there doing the buisness whilst Commolli seems to be intent on putting forward derisory offers in the hope that some idiotic chairman is going to do him a favour. Nasri to Utd, Hazard to Arsenal, Coentrao to Madrid, Aguero to City or Chelsea, Young to Utd, Turan to Athletico Madrid, Neymar likely Spurs or Arsenal. The left overs will be no improvement over what we have. Its a joke.

I agree with many parts of this. And the saddest part is people vote it unbelievable if they don't like it. Look at the previous posts and you'll see that people rate Aguero to Liverpool or Hazard to Liverpool as very believeable. Sorry but no player will leave Champions League football or turn down Champions League football for us as of right now. A year or two and these signings will be possible if Kenny keeps up the good run of form and we make into the top four. But until then, expect our summer signings to be the likes of Dann, Enrique, Adam, Marveaux and so on. These players will add depth which we need as we have the players we need to get us into the top four.

Guillem Ballague has said a player from Spain will move to Liverpool as our Marquee signing... his surname begins with M, no other details were given! I've been thinking... people with M who would be big and fit our criteria? Well firstly it's not gonna be Messi so we can rule that out. The two I narrowed it down to would be Marcelo, which would fit our LB situation, don't know why he'd move from Real though? second one that came to mind would be Javi Martinez from Bilbao, he's a young CM in the fit of Gerrard! Both these players are 24 and fit FSG and DC's policy of young players! I didn't plump for Mata because Ballague seems to be certain he's moving somewhere else! What do you think Ed?

REDMOG {Ed002's Note - If he had set this conundrum he would be referring to Mata. But let's assume it is all a joke.}

Hi eds everyone.lot of talk of agurero, I wouldn't be surpised to see him playing for us next season . I think that if the owners will pay 35 million for Carroll there's no reason why they won't spend 40 on the best young striker in europe .think Kk and Dc will have to work hard for his signature . Any thoughts. {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

As Rafa once said, lets look at the facts. LFC paid £1.8m net in January through the sale of Babel, Torres & others and buying Carroll & Suarez. They paid £35 million for Carroll, a young forward hardly proven in any league. So what funds would they have set aside for Jan? Add that to the amount for this summer, why can't we splash out on big name players? Maybe Aguero's wages are high, but remember Mr Henry kept reminding us that the Red Sox have the second highest wage bill in the league.

So why not? Cole, poulson, ivanovic must be in a fair wedge so remove them and maybe there is room for Kun. I think we will be surprised.

Bridgy07 {Ed002's Note - I am pretty certain that Chelsea will not be keen on Liverpool selling Ivanovic and pocketing the money.}

Liverpool need

Two left back
Robinson (18yo) is bit too young to throw him in so a second left back need to sign
Enrique £8m + Spearing
Clichy £7m
Vargas is too expensive at £20m

Two centre back
I don't think liverpool will pay £20m for Cahill instead
Liverpool will get Dann £7m and Jones £8m
or alternatively spend on Subotic £ 15m or Sakho £15m

one defensive midfielder
Since Alonso and Mascherano left we haven't got a replacement. Although Lucas had done well under KK
but he still to be convince. Liverpool may bring in Scot Parker (£5m) as temporary measure or go for either MVilla (£15m), Sissoko (£10m) and Matuidi (£10) but all three players are in demand and will have 30-70% chance of getting them

One attacking midfielder
Liverpool need one to ease some pressure to Gerrard
KK think Charlie Adams (£8m) will fit the bill but DC think otherwise. DC want Diego (£15m) Diego is lot more skillful and higher profile than Adams. Others Defour (£8m) but Man Utd also what him.

Three wingers mininum
This area where Liverpool is concerning on
Liverpool will spend much of their cash in this area
KK want both Aston Villa Wingers Young and Downing (£15m each) and will get Marveaux for free
but Aston Villa won't let Downing leave so Liverpool may end up N'Zogbia (£10m) or Afellay (£8m)
Mata and Hazard may be far too expensive (Min £20m each) but if Liverpoolis bold enough might get one of them

One Centre-forward mininum
The top four teams all have 3 top strikers
Liverpool need one maybe two more forward to complete
Micheal Owen is a option whether the fan want him back are not but KK think otherwise, the drawback is his fitness and injury pron but good backup to have on the brench. Carlton Cole will now available cheap £8m he will be backup to Caroll. Alternatively Liverpool can go for broke and get £20m Mario Gomez and £17m Lavezzi and have four top class foward for next season - Suarez/ Gomez and Lavezzi/ Carroll.

IÂ ve heard a rumour from people (who usually knows about LFC finances a lot) last week that the owners has given KD £100M budjet for this summer to strenghten the team and I wouldnt be too suprised if it were true when you think about what was spent in january shortly after KD started.. £100M + possible "outs" is a lot of money to build on and win some serious signing battles even without CL and EL.. What do you think about this rumour Ed? {Ed002's Note - I really don't see a budget per se. The money to be made available by the owners will largely come in the first instance from money generated by the club, which needs to be self-sufficient as we all know. What I imagine Tom Werner was referring to was that monies generated by the club (such as through the sale of a player) could be used for transfers (obviously if agreed on a case-by-case basis). I think if you are expecting NESV to throw enormous sums of their own money in to transfers, you will have a bit of a long wait until that happens. I do however have no doubts that they will provided financing themselves as necessary - but will not want to pay over the odds.}

Re: Aguero. I have not posted about this guy before, to be honest I haven't really followed his career much..over the last year and a half or so it seems like most fans posting on the site believe that if we sign him, we win the league, FA cup league cup and Mr Clutch cup, whatever. No one player will have that much impact for sure.

But to anyone who thinks that his wages are too much, consider this: Exactly how surprised were you when we bought Carroll? Me, I was absolutely dumbfounded, I just couldn't get over the price!!

Also consider this. If FSG want LFC to be a success off the pitch, they have to invest ON the pitch..they need LFC to be challenging in the greatest club tournament every year. Sky's deal has doubled over the last few years because the number of people buying subscriptions abroad (particularly in Asia) has increased, the increase in UK subscriptions was minimal. This shows that the EPL globally is the most popular league, and global on this scale is what baseball wants to be, but can't achieve.

So I guess I will not be surprised if FSG spend *serious* money this year, the faster they get back into CL, the faster their investment begins to grow. And let's not forget the explosion in handheld and streaming technology just around the corner, when 4G takes off. It looks like they money they spent buying LFC could be a very shrewd investment indeed. Google Swiss Ramble for a very good read about our and FSG's potential.

The news that Aguero is no longer moving to Real will no doubt excite Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, who has been connected with the Argentinian on a number of occasions.

Aguero has a clause in his contract which states that if a club is willing to offer £39 million, according to the Metro, it will trigger a release in the striker's contract to allow him to leave.

Saturday:
Atletico Madrid are yet to receive a bid for Sergio Aguero, according to president Enrique Cerezo.

The Argentine international is being courted by a number of clubs across Europe, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish one of those from the Barclays Premier League tracking the player.

I have always said players can play where they want, but I don t believe Kun wants to play at Real Madrid, said the Los Rojiblancos president.

It is what we have been saying for a long time. Aguero is an Atletico Madrid player and we have not had any offer. There is plenty of talk but I have no offers.

Liverpool have been linked with a handful of strikers in recent months, with Mario Gomez, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Romelu Lukaku all speculatively placed on the Anfield radar.

With money to spend in the transfer window, Dalglish is set for a busy summer and the Liverpool boss has said he ll be searching for high calibre rather than a large volume of players.

Tuesday:

Liverpool and Manchester City target Sergio Aguero has publicly stated his desire to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Argentina striker posted a statement on his website saying he felt he needed a move to continue his development.

'I said long ago that when I wanted to go, I would say so publicly. And the time has come, ' the statement said.

'I'm about to turn 23 and I have everything before me. Suffice it to say that this is not an economic issue but strictly a sporting one.

Nevertheless, speculation over Aguero's future has been rife in recent days with the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester City being linked with the son-in-law of Argentina legend Diego Maradona.

Only last week, Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin insisted Aguero was not for sale.

Yesterday:
Tomas Ujfalusi has revealed to the Spanish media that Atletico Madrid team-mate Sergio Aguero wants to sign for Real Madrid next season.

Today:
Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have been given the green light to move for Sergio Aguero, after the Atletico Madrid president claimed the striker would not be sold to rivals Real.

and..

Real Madrid are not interested in signing Sergio Aguero this summer, according to Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin.

The supremo has revealed that he discussed the Argentine s situation during a phone conversation with Madrid president Florentino Perez on Wednesday, and was assured that the nine-time European champions are not preparing a bid for the 22-year-old striker.

-- So it is still possible?--

Or is he just a poster on this site

Cheers Buddy {Ed002's Note - I know how to distinguish the real Macca from the fake Macca. I am sure he will chip in when he has something. Or do you mean like do I "know" him in the biblical sense?}

26 May 2011 18:18:13
People should have more faith in KK because he knows better than most what the current squad are capable of and also that you really don't need all that many world class players to win the epl (man u have proven that again this year) it's the manager makes a massive difference and Kenny will give us the edge. Kenny will buy maybe 3 players (2 current pl and 1 european league) and he will compete at the very highest level.

26 May 2011 18:15:21
I suggest any rumours with the names Aguero in are not posted. Except this one.
If it happens then wonderful but there are more reasons to suggest it wont than it will.
His wages are too high.
He is going to be over priced.
No CL Football.
We don't need to spend that much on one player let alone a striker.
This Aguero talk is bringing the standard of this site down.

Its pretty well known he had wanted to leave for a while and wouldn't surprise me if kenny and damo had this contingency in mind for the summer.

Can i just say that people have all been talking about Fabio Coentrao as a great attacking fullback but suspect defensively. Yet this season he only managed 2 assists and 5 goals. These arent exactly the figures that you would expect for a "great" attacking fullback and certainly doesn't make up for his problems defensively!!

Willster :) Ed plz post! hah

26 May 2011 17:56:44
I hear Coentrao is being looked at by Real & Liverpool. He has the same agent as Jose Mourino, so weather that has a bearing on his decision I don't know.

Just taken a look at an overveiw of things with my source.

Many people are dreaming....

Dreams do however come true sometimes and I would just like to add that our owners are big business.

Firstly people are rubbishing links with big players because we do not have the money to splash?

Why then is it that these owners payed $200,000 million dollars for two players in their baseball team?

As Kenny said " we will be busy" and Kenny is one of the most understated people we know.

Love to know how some people don't get the sarcasm from the eds, it's clear Aguero and Coentrao have not signed. Source, wikipedia, really though? I could go on wikipedia and write ed002 has signed for liverpool for £200 million and a packet of cheesy wotsits, will some people on this site believe it, if I post the link obviously?

{Ed002's Note - I made it perfectly clear that I would never go to Liverpool. I am very happy here at Real madrid after my success at Inter Milan and Chelsea.}

Ed I am afraid to say this but the calibre of player we are currently being linked to is dropping fast.....If fsg were serious about recruiting top young players why aren't we making serious bids for hazard, sakho, Mata etc ????
Instead we are making 4m bid for enrique valued at 10/ 12m???
5m for Dann valued at 8/ 10m..
4m in jan for c.adam valued at 10m...

TBH if i was enrique i'd tell us too P*** O** if LFC thought i was worth 4m..

Is there a strategy to these pathetic small bids other than making us look like cheap skates or am imissing something??

Elia is quoted in dutch football magazine NUSport
that here was enough interest in january. "Liverpool, Everton and Juventus wanted me in the winter window with an option to buy. Wolfsburg immediately offered twenty million euros and a top salary.

Wolfsburg''fought against relegation, my old coach Steve McClaren was under pressure. My feeling said, do not. Fortunately. "

A (temporary) transfer to Liverpool and Juventus were thwarted by Hamburg. Liverpool is one of English top, Juventus remains the biggest club in Italy. Bigger than AC Milan, Inter and the rest. HSV but did not let me go.''

He expects the same clubs to still have him on their list already. "Quote" Juve! Would be great. Of Liverpool. Kuyt on the right, the striker Carroll, Suarez and I on the left . Are we all crazy. But that is for the future.

Seems there is still definate interest there and he is obviously keen on us............

All these prats giving wikipedia as a source are a joke... entries can be made by anybody... if you give me 10 minutes, wiki will tell you that Messi has signed for Liverpool on 26/ 05/ 2011 on a 4 year contract for a hand full of peanuts, a private parking space at Melwood with Messi written on it and a pet dog called Xavi... lets see some propper rumors with real sources eh? {Ed002's Note - I thought Liverpool negiated the parking space out of the deal?}

Sergio Aguero is or at least was a Liverpool fan.
A while ago Sergio Aguero stated that he was a liverpool fan for as long as he could remember and that it would be a dream come true.

However, If we are not attractive to Aguero and if he is "not" a liverpool fan now only time will tell if he comes.

Why can't all the FA's just agree to open all the transfer windows on the same day, it would be loads easier. After reading some of the previous posts am i right in thinking that in theory we could sign Scott Dann tomorrow but have to wait till July 1st to sign Sylvain Marveaux. I hope thats right or i am lost lol.

And another thing please stop with the Aguero rumours your embarrassing yourselves.

Liverpool will be linked will all top players for sale. This is because we have a reasonable budget.

We cannot start dreaming about players however.

King Kenny himself has said that he is hoping to build a dynasty. To do this we need young future stars.

I cannot see us getting signings like joey barton given that liverpool have already confirmed their transfer policy - young and hot prospects.

Further as LFC have also confirmed only "tinkering" is needed to the current sqaud. We should not be expecting every single drop of deadwood to have left by the end of summer. We need to build our squad not cut it. Next year we can get rid of poorer players

As for players like aguero and Mata - there is always a chance they will sign however those chances are very slim when you compare us with barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea. Our only conselation is that we can offer first team football.

Comolli and Kenny are in contact with many players and I'm reasonable confident and hope that the players we do sign are worthy of the liverpool shirt. Afterall we do not want another Konchesky.

Ed forgive my ignorance but why do some liverpool fans hang onto every word a certain poster says. Does he know something/ someone. Again please forgive my ignorance

LFC94 {Ed002's Note - The poster in question has been straightforward and honest in what he reports and never over eggs the deals. There has been some success and a few failures - which is what many of us suffer from.}

26 May 2011 17:01:02
We won;t get big player because

Price is too expensive EG carrol
or the wage demands are too high EG luis Suarez

Liverpool fans have to understand that they are not a top 4 team, they have been in decline for years. Players coming to Liverpool would want first team football (Benezma) (CL football Eden Hazard

Real issue with finding quality players that want to join a Mid-table team. A team that is not in Europe. A team in the north of england.

The price for younger players is also inflated. Players that may need a couple of years in the reserve team could cost £10m to £15m.

DC has impossible job. He could throw money at the problem, but i am guessing John henry wouldn't want his money wasted.

26 May 2011 16:59:44
im not saying we are gonna sign sergio agureo, but when fsg were intervied did they not say that they were looking to up the wage bill?if this is the case which i think it is then sergio's wages would defo help that!what do you think eds? {Ed002's Note - I am guessing Tom Werner is regretting saying that. He probably did not realise that every sentence would be disected. As a business plan it seems rather dumb.}

So because Elia is black, Dutch, a winger, roughly the same physique, height and age as Babel he should be deemed the "next Babel"?
Smh. I bet these are the same people who've already Sylvain Marveaux as another Voronin/ Jovanovic.
For f***s sake stop! It stinks!

Each player is an individual, and whilst I don't think him good enough for us, Elia is a far better player than Babel.
And Marveaux is nothing like Jovanovic and Voronin.

Anyway, ed, I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, but did you say Kun will be going to Africa? Is it to take in the Africa XI vs World XI match, where Essien and Cole will captain the respective teams?

wiki is a bot program that sources info from around the web. This information may not be 100% correct. Last transfer market wiki did similar thing with other Liverpool targets. The bots are consistently crawling any info around. No validity is every given to crawled info. Something that google does very well {Ed002's Note - Wiki is not a Bot it uses some for maintenance but articles are written and edited by anyone with access to the site. The changes made for Coentrao are malicious probably made by someone from here who is desparate to prove me wrong - and let's be honest there are a lot out there. 26 May 2011 16:46:20
aguero n10 ???? the same player as suarez......maybe not as go in front of goal but be serious liverpool people are we gonna spend £40 million plus on a player who would be on the bench cos i don't think carroll or suarez would happy on the bench...plus the no.10 shirt is wore by joe cole or will be a liverpool player next season without a doubt... lets get really people kk sc are looking at british players my money would go on g cahill, downing, nzogbia, adams, baines or the left back from celtic.. and thats more realistic...people we might have money but we hav'nt got that much... plus no european football lets get real
--------------------------------------------------------------

Ah yes, the great british names of Izaguirre and N'Zogbia. Also I have to admit I am one of the optimistic people that think we have a chance of Aguero however am not getting my hopes up but seriously to slate the people who think hes signed then come out with Joe Cole to be a Liverpool player next season without a doubt is laughable.

2nd rate player. His top lip is on equal terms with Rio Ferdinand's and her who used to be in men behaving badly that had that cosmetic sugery accident and her face didn't go down for years. Think it has now though, but the point is that no self respecing red wants to see that sort of thing do they? Not game in game out.

Eds this is not a go at yee but was just wondering, who in your opinions do yee think liverpool will sign, yee seem to shoot down a lot of class players, Reina is more than likely staying, Gerard and Carra are excited about the summer and they have said it, surely they have seen a few names, owners have proved the will put there money up, so why can't we be favs to land the star players even without Europe for ONE year, again not a go at yee but was wondering who your top players would be????

Red Dave {Ed002's Note - It would be guesswork Dave. marveaux looks like, there is reportedly a bid for Adam, assorted French players have been looked at, one or two in Spain. I can tell you if there has been confirmed interest in aplayer, but I cannot speculate whether Liverpool will offer enough money, whether a club will sell or not and whether a player will agree to a move.}

I read this site most days and to be honest, All these regurgitated rumours are doing my cap in! Jesus H Christ, Mary mother of god!

I've got a nailed on rumour for you all. I've heard from Kenny Dalglish himself that we will only bring in top class signings, and That it would be disrespectful to bring in anything other than quality. He has also said that we will have a busy summer of transfers as the owners backing is there with the finance. Enough said King.

I understand that it is a rumour site but when I'm reading the same thing over and over and over, I'm thinking, is this not doing anybody else's head in? Rest assured that the wheels are in motion and by the start of the new season, your questions will be answered. Most of the players will be off on their holidays by now so relax and enjoy whats to come because I'm confident we'll all be happy by September.

by the way ed. Can you rate out of 10 the most likely option for my tea from: Steak and chips, Tuna pasta, sandwiches, or is the microwave Saag masala the most likely? I heard from a good reliable sauce that the Setak and chips is a done deal. If I'm wong then I'll eat my words.

Cheers.

Eden Hazard s Lille team mate Aurelien Chedjou has revealed the Belgian star has received offers from different clubs, including Liverpool:
I spoke with him, he said that he is 50% staying. He s received offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool. I understand his dilemma, it s hard to say no to a great team.
The 20 year old helped Lille win the Ligue One title this season

Will be hard to tempt him away from teams like madrid barca and bayern . . .

Just took this from RAWK !! Great rant, you agree ed?

Corkpoolred

It's ironic that 6 years on from THAT night, once again Liverpool fans are being accused of being nothing more than nostalgic history dwellers as that lot down the road prepare to play FCB on Sat night.
As usual I'm sat here typing not knowing what letters will spill out any further than perhaps the next word or so, so here's my problem.

I'm utterly torn between being someone who slags off Utd for being permanently obsessed with us and yet quietly hating (lets be honest, not quietly at all frankly) everything they do and hoping and offering cheap sacrifices to the gods or Imogen's lawyer in the vain hope they'll lose. Badly.

The main problem for Liverpool fans is that they (as we would do) take delight in rubbing our faces in their current form.
My usual answer is to point out that they have no class, they are graceless and a bunch of sad c*nts, and whilst that's true, its also true that today we've revelled in the Istanbul miracle, whilst slagging off the fact that they have won 2 cups on the luckiest of whims: namely injury time and John Terry being a useless t**t.

So once again my hypocrisy comes out: I love Istanbul but I f***ing hate the Nou Camp in '99 and Moscow. I hate how Mr Alex Ferguson controls the media but love how Shanks and Bob had them in the palm of their hand.

So as the wine tumbles down the throat I can only acknowledge that once more I'm a hypocrite. But one who knows this and will argue it to the death.Because actually I believe there is a difference and whilst other fans would say of course I'd think that, bear with me.

Being a Liverpool fan is an honour and a lifelong love and something that seeps through your bones and is very very very very very very very very very very very f***in different from supporting a lesser club. Such as, for example, Manchester Utd.

Let me explain why.

You see, irrespective of trophies won, (and this is where I disagree with a lot of journo's and others) its not just the what's been won that counts, but how you do it. It's the same in life. And for me, Utd are crass, graceless and (as Giggs' valiant vigilante's showed) utterly ignorant of what it is to be part of a club, to be one and the same as the club, to be part of its heart and vice versa. Those 'fans' who thought it clever to show up and egg some journo's car were as clever as Rooney's twitter account. f***ing dim and a waste of space and totally missing the point.

You want proof? Part of the reason Hicks and Gil were such a cancer to our club is at the heart of this very point. In f***ing up the club they were messing with us. In trying to take over what they thought to be 'just a football club' they were tampering with your and my soul. The community that is Liverpool Football Club is one and the same as its fans and we hated it.

But what did Utd do when the Glazer's came to town? They f***ed off and set up a new club. Now many journalists thought this was a noble ideal. But its not at all. It's a cowardly rejection of your birthright. You love your club? Then don't abandon it to set up some new club. That's johnny-come-lately "Look at me look at me" attitude. When the going got tough did they stay and fight to death for their club? No, the Utd lot f***ed off and took their pram thrown toys with them. Is that the mark of a true fan who loves his club? Is it f***ity bollocks.
That club and those fans are two separate entities and not remotely joined in anyway. I'd feel sorry for them if it wasn't for the fact they brought it on themselves when they hired that bitter empty t**t of a manager.

Ferguson claims to be the architect of Utd's heritage. Well he is insomuch as he's now made Man Utd hated by most people and if journalists had any balls at all, they'd tell him to shove his disrespect so far up his a**ehole every time he licked his lips he'd polish his balls.

Ferguson is the main reason I can't f***ing stand Utd, not their winning, but the way in which he's developed and allowed that attitude of siege mentality and trench warfare to seep up and down as if one of the biggest clubs in the world are hard done by.
Real Madrid complaining about the ills of the world? How the world's agin them? Nah, leave that to Jose and his immature rantings of a teenager waiting for his balls to tumble. Barca whimping on about how no-one likes them? Not even blind Arsene (I only have eyes for you Cesc) does that.

I'd be f***ing embarrassed if a Liverpool manager started whinging on like that. If I was a Utd player I'd be embarrassed to come home and say "Yeah we won the league but no-one cares, its not fair and I wanna cry no-one likes us"
His Govan gracelessness and hard done by ways have demeaned a great club. I don't recall Matt Busby wanting to ban a respected journalist for asking a question that has been discussed in parliament.
You know I'm sure there are Utd fans out there, old style, who actually are ashamed of the way that t**t has taken a big club and made it a cry baby nursery for the hard done by.
Witness Anderson diving more than Jaques Cousteau, Nani dying on his death pitch at Anfield only to miraculously arise like Lazarus two weeks later. Witness Rooney thinking its appropriate to swear at any and every camera as if he's owed some sort of divine right to exclusion from critical examination. Vidic, cheating his way to victory, Giggs shouting at a ref as if that official was a reality tv star.

No f***ing class.
So yeah I'm gonna dwell in Vlad's goal tonight. I'm gonna dwell in the fact that yes it pisses me off that they've won 19 leagues but I don't and won't hide in our history. I'll just celebrate it, and the people involved. For every Keane bursting a reddened face at some ref or breaking some player's career in several places, I'll think of Tommy Smith: twice as hard but without any of the malice.

You see, Utd are a bunch of classeless bullies who think the world's against them because they win lots. Its not because of that. It's because your whiskynosed little minded t**t of a manager thinks the best way to run a club is to be spiteful, pathetic, ungracious and manipulative. That's what's happened to that club and why no matter how much they win, it's not the winning. It's the club you love that matters. And if that club is nothing better than an extension of some bitter empty c*nt's machinations then you're left with nothing.
Kenny most days talks about how lucky and honoured he is to be at Liverpool. LFC is bigger than even him, and it exists symbiotically with us the fans. Intrinsically interwoven, its heartbeat is our heartbeat. I don't recall Mr Alex Ferguson ever owing the club anything.
Man Utd's is a club that excludes the fans and seperates itself. There's no connection, no heart and no link. As much as the Utd fans will protest, its' a club that has alienated its people, and they sadly cling to the team's victories as a well known player does to his lawyer in some effort to find a connection. It's like watching someone go to the same pub as a famous person so they feel connected. It's just bollocks. Utd aren't anyone's club and their fans are pleading to be let in. But they're not.
No, I'm a Liverpool fan which means the club and me and my other fans and players and managers are all linked. That's what Hodgson didn't get, that's why G+H are out and that's why the new owners realise this ain't any ordinary team, why Kenny is more than the right man for the job and why they've bought into a culture and history that far far far outweighs anything the SKY cultured Utd have done. I've respect for that team's distant history but the recent stuff? Nah, it's a MaccyD's trophy cabinet. Shiny but tastes hollow and means f*** all.
To all those who think that first is first and second is nowhere, (and I'm including Bill here, ) well its' not the case at all. Because first at the expense of your history and who you were leaves you with a trophy but nothing else. Hollow and empty. I'd feel sorry for that club if they hadn't all been brainwashed and c*nts, the lot of them.

Maybe I'm obsessed as to what Mr Alex Ferguson's done to that club, maybe I do dwell on my club's history but when my club is a breathing living extension of my life, I can't help but feel pity for other fans of other lesser clubs. They simply don't know what they're missing.

for weeks now it's as if there are only a few players out there that are available to buy. And if we don't get them there's no one else. Maybe we should wait, there are players on the clubs radar that we don't know about. Andy Carrol was signed and there wasn't much speculation regarding that transfer. We are not with Roy Hodgeson now or have we got H&G in charge.

26 May 2011 15:34:33
Hey ed, when does the transfrer window actually open? {Ed002's Note - Each FA decides the date that their transfer window opens. In England and Wales it is after the last game of the season - but that only applies for transfers between clubs who are members of the same FA. There has been a real big fuss in France this year as the clubs want the transfer window to open after the last day of the season rather than their following the tradition of opening on the same day as the International window. The French are concerned that those nasty English clubs will come and take their best players and costs will be inflated. Some countries use the last game, some June 1 and some the international window date. For International transfers I the window will open on July 1.}

The reason joey barton couldnt agree terms is because he is on 90k week and was on that in the championship and that is why he stayed at newcastle while they were in the championship. He could have gone to a few clubs but didnt get offered as good wages

Reports emerging from Portugal are suggesting that Liverpool have agreed a fee close to Benfica's valuation of 30 million (£26m) for the services of Portuguese left-back Fabio Coentrao.

Coentrao as been linked with a switch to Anfield since the left-back position was identified as a weakness; Paul Konchesky and Emiliano Insua are both currently on loan, with Glen Johnson often asked to fill in at a position he is unfamiliar with.

Damien Comolli reportedly followed up interest shown in Coentrao in February by flying out to meet with Benfica representatives recently. Two days ago, reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid emerged, but it now seems the Portuguese star is set for a move to Liverpool.

Kenny Dalglish is said to have agreed a deal slightly under Benfica's original demands worth 28.9 million (£25m) according to GiveMeFootball.com, despite Liverpool also expressing an interest in the likes of Jose Enrique, Taye Taiwo and Emilio Izaguirre.

lost in translation or nice big slice of humble pie for ED002?

26 May 2011 14:56:41
Ed I do agree with you that it was Real Madrid that signed Coentroa but all reports are still saying it was US that agreed a deal with Benfica ?! Can you say why ? {Ed002's Note - Read yesterday mornings Rumours.}

26 May 2011 14:55:08
Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira insists Fabio Coentrao would only be allowed to leave for 30million (£26m).

The attack-minded Portugal left-back has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, Manchester City, AC Milan, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
But Benfica are unwilling to allow Coentrao to leave for anything less than £26million.

The club's president, Luis Filipe Vieira, told Portuguese media: "Coentrao can only leave if a club pays 30m, which is his value in the market."

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha has reported that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has already agreed a deal for Coentrao.

But Real and Manchester City would have the financial clout to outbid the Anfield outfit if it becomes clear that the 23-year-old is available.

So we have agreed a fee for Fabio Coentrao ! {Ed002's Note - Great news and a link to the Correio da Manha report: tinyurl.com/3l9xk5s}

KOPTALK BREAKING NEWS SOMETHING ABOUT AGUERO

what is it?

26 May 2011 14:51:17
Hi ed's

Is there any chance the orignal article was wrong or they were just making stuff up about Madrid

(Coentrao) {Ed002's Note - Right. The double-double bluff.}

26 May 2011 14:49:39
As a postscript to that post I sent, I should that, my view on Aguero is that he won't be a Liverpool player come September 1st.

My reasons for that have nothing to do with the practical considerations as Atletico's fee, tax and Kun's wages.
I don't know whether or not FSG would be able and willing to buy him and pay those wages.
And I think it's fair to say no one, bar perhaps the powers that be themselves, knows if the owners would bankroll the transfer.

I see Aguero not joining LFC because I doubt if we would be that attractive an option right now compared to the other teams who'd be in for him. As much as the future is bright and Red, the fact is that players such as Kun, it's perhaps much brighter in other places.

Of course, this is just my opinion, anything is possible. But it's just difficult to see him look past the Moscow outpost down south or even the madhouse that is Madrid for us.

I don't buy into this "he's a fan mantra". Arda Turan, not Kun Aguero, is a fan.
If perhaps Kun were Arda right now, then I could say, yes, yes, yes!
But nay, he's no fan of Liverpool. He's a fan of Independiente who in his teen years liked Liverpool when he watched it.

I liked Santa when I would see him as a kid. Didn't (necessarily) mean though I wanted to be him when all grown up.

26 May 2011 14:49:36
Well i for one have faith anyway in bringing in top class players! Dalglish himself said it's the size and history of this club that will bring us the best players, not qualifying for Europe will not hinder our chances of catching our transfer targets. Any player that thinks otherwise isn't worth it anyway. Lemon

26 May 2011 14:49:04
Im really confused eds i have a strong feeling this coentrao deal is done with real madrid and he will bw goin there, but sky sports and lfc.tv rumours page are sayin kd has stroke a deal have ye any info besides the newspaper article to say there is a slight chance of him coming to liverpool?? {Ed002's Note - Ok, you are really seeming to struggling with this. Sky Sports refer to the same Portuguese news paper ite: tinyurl.com/3l9xk5s - what do you make of it?}

26 May 2011 14:48:45
Yea knew they had reported about Real agreeing a deal, but can you see sky sports reporting just because football-talk made a story, anyways I don't believe he will come anyway so I will believe you may be skysports have seen the tweets

26 May 2011 14:45:31
Coentrao will maybe come to liverpool ...
its from todays news that from yestrday doesnt count anymore new deals have been done ... could you agree whit me?

{Ed002's Note - tinyurl.com/3l9xk5s}

26 May 2011 14:39:32
I'm looking forward to signing Charlie Adam. I appreciate his positional play & he can also pass from deep positions.

26 May 2011 14:38:56
Ed, did we bid for aguero in jan? I'm nearly certain we did. Therefore it would not be beyond possible that we are bidding for him again. Also I would summise that if a bid was placed in January that the move was possible from the players point of view, otherwise why would we bother placing such a bid???It is well known that clubs sound out players before placing bids after all. Obviously more clubs will be interested in this window but ratings of 1/ 10 for him to sign for us must be way off the mark!

26 May 2011 14:38:11
Slightly of subject here but considering we have recently enough been linked with Joey Barton, does anyone or an ED possible know the reasons why Newcastle would not be offering him a new contract? I thought he had quite a good season with them this year.
------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps because he's a wheel and anchor?

26 May 2011 14:36:23
Hi Eds
Am I the only one concerned about the continuing rumours linking us with Charlie Adam?
The only advantage I see is his set piece ability for Carroll. He seems an unecessary purchase considering the CM options already available.

Any thoughts on the rumours?

"Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha has reported that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has already agreed a deal for Coentrao"-skysports
Can't see sky sports mis translating an article say8ing he will go to Real.
So I believe the paper should have reported it may be the paper is talking rubbish I agree

One player I would loove to see in The red shirt again is Xabi Alonso

26 May 2011 14:33:07
the editors say that it is virtually impossibble that we will be signing massive players this year. for example aguero and coentrao. And i agree with this in part due to our final position in the league last year. HOWEVER, how do the editors know the levels of money avaliable to Dalglish? i don't think anyone does? we can only go on the one transfer window we have seen where we spent as much as we sold.
The defining point to all of this was in an interview dalglish gave in one of his final interviews of the season just gone.... He has the money to buy the targets he wants; and look at his targets in january, luiz suarez who was already on his way before we sold torres and andy carroll. it was even quoted that the owners were disappointed that we didnt sign more players so i say stop with all this rating of players out of ten because in reality our targets could be more achievable in terms of value than we think.

26 May 2011 14:25:39
Ed I was just reading about what u said on transfers and how negotiations end when a player says "no Im not interested in joining this club".. What are your views on top players who have been linked with us? Would they say yes I'm interested? The likes of mata hazard and aguero(however unlikely they are) {Ed002's Note - I have given my views on numerous occasions - please check the archives.}

26 May 2011 14:24:44
Hi eds and macca, please could you let me and everyone else know out of 10 what the chances of Aguero coming considering Real Madrid have pulled out, thanks MIKEYREDDD {Ed002's Note - 1/ 10.}
Did they pull or or did they say they weren't going to sign him? Because they said the same about Ronaldo.

26 May 2011 14:22:09
It seems that Liverpool are looking at numerous players for the midfield, winger and left back position. Also it seems that Liverpool are in the market for a keeper and a center back as well. Ed do you rate Charlie Adam? plus who do you rate is better? Young or Downing? Furthermore, it looks likely that Enrique will be signed and is he really good? Plus whats your take on the return of Brad Fridel? Im a big fan of Scoot Dann but isnt he injured at the moment? Do you think he is should be signed?

26 May 2011 14:19:00
Ed002 and other folk who assert that Sergio "Kun" Aguero won't be coming to Anfield as Liverpool "can't afford Atletico's asking price and his wages" plus he "wouldn't bring return on investment".

Obviously these claims/ views relate to matters of fact (LFC/ FSG's finances and ability to exploit an asset and make a healthy return on investment).
So how do you fellas know whether or not FSG has the funds to bankroll this Aguero and if they are willing to do so or not?

How do you know that FSG can't or won't pay wages of £200k?
How do you know that FSG can't conjure up ways of making Aguero a profitable investment?

I'm not saying FSG will or will not buy the player, just that when one makes an assertion relating to factual matters (some of which aren't even known, such the extent FSG will bankroll new signings), they've got to support that with some data.

Some other things we based our views/ predictions or a balance of probabilities. But probability's based on logic, and logic doesn't necessarily imply the truth.

So, I've got a problem with people who say "we can't afford X", "we will spend only this amount".
Well, how do you know? That's my question.

Malva {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are expecting as an answer. I am certainly not going to provide some lengthy rationale to substantiate anything said on this web site.}

26 May 2011 14:12:01
I have got a question for you?.

Who do you think are the top two crossers in UK and again the top two in Europe?

26 May 2011 14:13:24
ed is it likely that kenny and comolli already no which players want to join the club and who they are going to sign , or is it all straight make a bid and then talk to the player if offer accepted? {Ed002's Note - Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the players team to ask if they would be willing to sell and permission to speak to a player's agent and possibly even the player. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. So many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subswt of those go ahead.}

Hi ed is this true that coentro deal is done. I saw it on give me football, I will be flying if true though the rumourd price is too much. Also i am seeing aguero rumour a lot today, and what about it.And finally elia is like a backward babel. I have seen him play some games and he was more like jovanovic , better jova actually. Good luck LFC in this transfer window. And here comes the champions next season and beyond.

26 May 2011 13:56:55
i have seen a few posts on here saying we have a team that with a couple of additions could compete for the premiership, constantly i see people asking the editors for ratings on players so made me think how would Liverpools players be rated out of 10 if you were to pick the current best 11? i think it would be along these lines:

Reina - 9

Kelly - 7 Carragher - 7 Agger - 7 Johnson - 6

Meireles - 7 Gerrard - 9 Lucas - 6 Kuyt - 8

Suarez - 8 Carroll - 7

when looking at this i think it is clear we need a few more than 2 additions into the squad, there are too many 'ok' players who do not have anyone competing for their position (majority of the players ranked 7) we need a few more 8/ 9/ 10 type players if we are to challenge next season, i do realise players like Kelly and Carroll can improve over time but i think the ratings i have given are valid ones for the present. Interested to know what others would rate the team 1-10 and also Ed do you agree with my team evaluation?
cheers {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I never comment on teams at all.}

Am I the only person who doesn't want Downing to sign for us.. He's injury prone, inconsistent and he doesn't seem like a confident player what I mean by that is when his confidence is dented he plays awful. We need players who turn up mentally all the time.

IMO a waste of money, especially when figures like 17m are been banded about for him!

YNWA jns

hasnt downing just played 38 league games for villa ?
injury prone my apse !

Downing is stalling on talks with Villa ? could be intresting ...and he provided the most crosses than any prem player last season (Opta)

Hi just wanted to get peoples opinion on roque Santa cruz as a cheap but capable back striker.
He wud be happy to play for the pool, come on from the bench and.......this is the best part.....he is just gorgeous!! So it wud be great for the aesthetics of the squad!!!
What u think??? ;-)

Slightly of subject here but considering we have recently enough been linked with Joey Barton, does anyone or an ED possible know the reasons why Newcastle would not be offering him a new contract? I thought he had quite a good season with them this year.

Because he, s a YOB - keep him out of our club

26 May 2011 13:51:16
i don't see the need for liverpool to sign a LB of the calibre of Coentrao anyway, cos i think we looked really good when we had GJ at LB and MK at RB so enrique would be good enough cos he can be back up most of the time.
then Dann looks like he will be our new CB as his injury seems recovered.

also apparently Spurs and Arsenal have bid for Falcao!

Ed you agree at all? and you heard anything bout Dann's injury and Falcao???
thanks and great site look at it everyday...LaddieA {Ed002's Note - Dann will have to prove his injury is recovered from. I am aware of reprts about Falcao.}

Could someone please confirm if my understanding is correct?

The transfer window to sign players who currently play in England is now open?

To sign players who play in other countries can be signed from June 1st?

The window closes on August 31st? {Ed002's Note - July 1 not June 1.}

26 May 2011 13:50:05
Cheers ed002 for the insightful reply, I had heard the statement from st etienne about missing out on koscielny, I don't blame him, he's so average. I heard he was mildly disruptive at tottenham , but if he finds us a modric I for sure will not be moaning. I personally don't see the need for a director of football, seems Like an over zealous ego massaging position to nec but hey, I will reserve judgement, my only worry is he was brought in to restrain hodgson, kenny does not require an overbearing man scrutinizing his every move. As long as both work in harmony I'm sure there will be no problems I would love sissoko, and we have a good chance, if commoli brings him in I'm sure it would be a astute piece of buisness. Anyway cheers again ed

26 May 2011 13:43:43
Not a rumour, but a good point to think about. Something that was mentioned in the times (i Think) a while back. This transfer window is a massive one for Commoli and the pressure is almost certainly on. If Comolli makes the wrong singnings and Liverpool don't seem to progress his jon will almost certainly be over. I know that sounds a bit harsh but its a very realistc possibility. So those people thnking that liverpool are only gonna sign the dregs of whats left from the high spending teams, I think comolli will be working extremley hard to avoid this and if he isnt then he bloody should be.

For all those people that have dimissed rumours of Ageuro coming to Anfield will have to eat there word. Maxi has spoken with friends and he will be looking to move to Liverpool in the next month. Real have just confirmed that they won't be bidding for him and as a LFC fan he refuses to go to another EPL club. No 10 shirt will be free as well.

---------------------------------------------------Mate it aimt gonna happen. We have had the same old rubbish every year since Torres arrived, another Liverpool fan.... lets get one thing straight they may like liverpool over other teams in the prem but they are not fans, very few professionals are fans let alone foreign stars, they leave that behind them when they start there career and foreign stars will have no problem joining any side in the prem cos they have no real attachment to the prem or to liverpool. Case and point Torres.

HEY ED
i will not say that im blaa blaa in anfield on anywhere else i would like to talk straight that i see no aguero or any player arriving from spain bcz thet often get homesick and other thing that why we need coentrao we should give a year to jhon flanagen he is one of the most exciting talents from our youth system.Else we don't need to sign adams bcz we first are having miereles and if we buy young and adams or any other midfielder so where miereles will play.we only need to sign one midfileder only as lucas is also developing.i think only two to three good signing will make lfc better then ever. no need of aguero or coentrao in our squad as much i think

I'm sure all this Arguro stuff is nonsense - but is he any good anyway? Can someone let us know what kind of player he is. Most of us on here will only have seen snippets of him on TV.

26 May 2011 13:16:29
Ed002, I know your the man with the French links, I heard you have a soft spot for Monaco and realised DC used to work at the club, I was wondering what your views on him are and what he brings to the club, I also saw we are linked to auxerre attacking mid delvin nytinga? Would he add anything to our squad, plus yoanne gourcuff, he has bags of potential but has gone of the boil somewhat, do you believe we could get him, I would be happy with him or sissoko to be honest, what are your views? Cheers mate, some may not relish your opinion but I find you very knowledgble and insightful

{Ed002's Note - I didn't know Comolli when he was at Monaco because he was working as a scout and coach to the kids sides. My then wife was also persona non grata at Monaco. However, two stints at St-Etienne did not help his cause with the second empoyment coming to a very ugly end after he took full control of transfers and circumstances led to players being purchased and presented to the coach at a training session, and the coach having no idea. When he moved to Liverpool late last year a very stark warning was issued by Bernard Caiazzo - I guess Googling "Bernard Caiazzo" and "Comolli" should get you to one of the reports on it. My fear is that
he could prove disruptive. N'Dinga is a player I know little about and I don't know of any links to him. Gourcuff has had a bad year but will probably come good next year - I doubt Lyon would sell right now.}

man city real madrid and chelsea and manu will sign all the available top players so expect average players and why does everyone expect a marquee signing what a load of tosh and this aguero nonsense is getting rediculous next person to mention him should be shot hes not that great anyway 20mil at most would rather bring morgan in as back up

I post on here occasionally when my friend, a football journalist, gives me any snippets of info. It is largely 'rumours' from their own sources but they are professional sources. Apparently we ARE trying to agree a deal for Aguero but it is far from being agreed. We are very interested in Mata and Young. We are not in for Downing, predominantly because we are looking to add pace to the team and he isn't one of the fastest wingers by any stretch of the imagination. We are in negotiations over a few LB's and DM's apparently, mainly to prevent us being held to ransom by any one club. Its safe to say that Comolli is keeping himself very busy at the moment.

IMO, I think we will sign :
Marveaux - FREE
Elia - 14M
Mata - 21M
Dann - 6M
Enrique - 9M
Sakho - 16M
Friedel - FREE
Muinian 11M

Cost : 77M
Sales (approx. 30M) and owners (43M) will pay for transfers and the sales of players going out will make wage funds available .

Eds, read this most days and Damn do you guys get stick, still only a month and 5 days till the window opens! Really confused as to why people post about signing from other leagues happening in the next few days! My prediction... If kenny wants maximum preseason with the new team then expect transfers from the English league to be done at the end of June and from other leagues beginning of July, unless pressed for other reasons such as interest from other teams! Good things come to those who wait!!

Lads at first I was thinking "Aguero to lpool, yer right lol" but the destination we all thought he'd end up at, Real have come out and said there not perusing him. Think about it. Is it such a bad thing to think that he's out of our league? Im starting to wonder, after all aim for the sky and you'll reach the ceiling. I believe Aguero isn't a money grabber like tevez and has spoke of his love for our club after he watched the 2005 CL final. All I'm saying is I was like you lot at first, laughing at the Aguero rumours but give em a break. We all want to see the best players brought in. I'm expecting a lb, lw cb st and hopefully friedel

GL-Friedel
LB-Enrique
CB-Dann
LW-Downing
ST-Aguero/ Benzema/ ???

Hi Eds

I may as well start the speculation now. Have read the interview on LiverpoolFC.TV with Xabi Alonso, i can't help thinking he may be on his way back. He loves the club and fans, gets on well with stevie G and Carra and has a lot of respect for KK. This may be wishful thinking but could he be coming back.

What's your thoughts ed, have you heard anything or am I reading too much into this? {Ed002's Note - Refer to earlier answers.}

And he was named Villa player of the season this year so...........................

Re Charlie Adam

Just to make this clear he signed a two season deal with blackpool with an option for a third that either party could take up, that was aug 2009.

Meaning he would now be out of contract if blackpool hadnt taken up the the option for another season.

OK MR ED'S I THINK U ALL HAVE BEEN SHOWN UP, IF U REMEMBER CORRECTLY YOU ALL SAID AGUERO IS GOING TO REAL MADRID, WELL REAL PRESIDENT HAS ALREADY COME AND SAID THEY WONT BE BIDDING FOR HIM! SO I THINK U WILL FIND THAT MEANS LIVERPOOL HAVE GOT MORE THEN A 1/ 10 CHANCE TRY MAKING A 7/ 10 AS THE GUY SUPPORTS LFC!

Ed, I have a business suggestion for you. Anyone posting a statement that a player is a dead cert to join us should be willing back up their post by stumping up a cash bond (minimum £1, but they can stump up more). Predictions with a cash bond will have a large pound sign next to them (a bit like the e-bays sellers ratings), If the prediction turns out to be true the poster gets double his money back, if not, at the end of the transfer window he forfeits his money. Common Ed its a win win for you, you will either become a millionaire or your work load in having to print the tosh that people write will drastically reduce. **I don't think so even if you mama seeing them shaking hands might even be true.. Forlan was just visiting Finland (tuesday) on his holiday as IFK Mariehamns quest (finnish football club).. So maybe he just stopped by and visited Suarez on his way to Finland or when he was flying back from there as they both are uruguayans and played together in WC?

I agree with Steve Clark, I don't think we need sweeping changes in the squad. Haven't we already got our own "Aguero" in Luis Suarez. I can't see how they'd both fit in even if he would sign, and what happens to Carroll? They'd all be too expensive to be benchwarmers. It's just back up up front that we need (a bit like the Mancs had Owen and Berbatov), and we already have Kuyt as cover there.
Any money we have needs to be spent on players to create for the front 2. Two Decent wide men, a class left back and a young central defender in the Hansen/ Hyppia mould, someone who is going to run the back 4 for years to come, Scott Dann perhaps.
Then just ensure we have back up for every position, get rid of the obvious dead wood and I think we'll be ok.

7 in, and also sign two youngsters

Reina

Johnson Dann Agger Clichy

Gerrard Lucas Downing

Gourcuff

Suarez
Carroll

Bench: Freidel, Kelly, Flanaghan, Carra, Kuyt, Shelvey, Spearing

If this is right then Dann, Clichy, Downing, Gourcuff will sign. I'd like to see another winger i.e. Payet for a bit more depth but otherwise a decent first 11.

I think we can all feel a deep sense of pride in seeing Michael Owen winning a Premier league medal and I for one will be watching the game Sat and hoping he plays and wins a Champions league medal he deserves it.

The lad has been through alot in the last couple of years injury etc and yet he has kept positive and dignified. It broke my heart to see him as a pundit at Istanbul 2005 when he more than anyone should have been out there.

Michael was a great servant to the Club and I hope when he returns to play against us we give him a warm welcome as this Champion and gentleman deserves.

Goodluck Michael!

ive got to be honest. i don't think lfc are looking at the players everyone is talking about. i have a funny feelling they are looking down another road. i really hope iam wrong. i would of thought they would aleast have one player done and dusted. my reason for saying that is real madrid have already got 3 or 4 in place already. in this day and age you have got to be quick off the ball to get what you want.

"WE were quick to get rid of sissokoh when he didnt score in his liverpool career now people want him back... {Ed002's Note - It is not Mohamed Sissoko that people want back but Moussa Sissoko of Toulouse.}"

M. Sissoko looks class. The only concern is that he seems to be extremely right footed and not very effective when played on the left of defencive midfield (with 2 def. midfielders - 4-2-3-1). My source is Football Manager 2011. Anyone seen him play for real? Is it true?

Re: the poster bemoaning Rafa getting shut of Pennant and Riera.

Pennant was a party boy and we are well shot of him. I used to work on a club in Liverpool city centre called Noir and Pennant was in there getting absolutely pasted week in week out, whether we won, drew or lost. Riera was great in his first season but then he became too self indulgent, continually cutting in on his right and going for glory when he had better options around him, so glad they are both gone.

Anyone else getting ichy feet for the signing to happen now, and carnt wait for next season to start, I usually do £10 4 Liverpool to win league, this season on I'll be doubling up on that bet. One player I want to see at afield next season is benzama he will fit into Liverpool like a glove, more so that Torres in first cpl years, same as Suarez in 6 months, also I'd like to see young, Adam, Johnson, as Kenny is the master at evening things out over the pitch, first few months you can see the way Kenny wants to play, the way tittle winning teams play.I've a feeling this is going to be a summer to remember, with cpl surprise signings.

Aguero price range? I know who I would rather have, ADIOS Aguero Guttentag her LFC Muller ;) I reckon £45m could do it, what are your thoughts? {Ed001's Note - maybe even more than that as his club have no interest in selling and don't need money.}

Brad Friedel declared bankrupt despite earning over £40,000-a-week. Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been declared bankrupt. Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been declared bankrupt.The ruling was made at Macclesfield court after the US keeper was found to have built up debts of £5 million.

The 39-year-old is reportedly to have got into financial difficulty after his US football academy ran up millions of pounds of debt. The academy, in Friedel's native Ohio, was opened in 2007 as a non-profit venture. However, lender RBS Citizens was forced to take action and court documents show Friedel and his company owed almost £5 million last August.

In December, repossession proceedings also began on a £260,000 house owned by the Villa keeper.

Friedel is out of contract in the summer and is set to leave Villa

I think we can WIN the premiership Title next year. No Europe is an advantage for us. Teams drop points after a mid-week europa game.

If we had gotten an extra 17 points this season. That would of given us 75 points. Home form will be very important in my quest for world domination. Anfield must become the home of football. It has been nice seeing the team play football. One touch, fast, attacking stuff.

I thought only man utd and arsenal played football. The rest of us defended/ played to our own strenghs. Playing football is the key. Also man utd like wingers because they get corners + freekicks. We seem to hate them. Under rafa we bullied them untill they left the club.

I would like to see a John Barns back at the club. Steve Mcmanan. We really don't see liverpool cross the ball from touchline.Crosses into the box equall (corners, freekick's, supply for Carroll)

I really want to see some fearless runner. Who will test fullbacks.

now the premiership is over and CL final this saturday.

What will be the football for the summer? can someone tell me. I can't go without football

Liverpool coach Steve Clarke believes suggestions the squad needs a major overhaul in the summer are wide of the mark.

Kenny Dalglish has been joined by Steve Clarke on the Anfield bench
GettyImagesKenny Dalglish has been joined by Steve Clarke on the Anfield bench

Manager Kenny Dalglish's priorities are at least one winger, a left-back and a centre-back but arrivals for other positions are still a possibility. Some reports have claimed the post-season clear-out could stretch into double figures, with a similar number coming in, but Clarke does not reckon it will require as much surgery as that.

''We have a decent squad here, a lot of good players who have shown that for us, '' said the Scot. ''If we can find two or three players that can add to the squad then that is what we should do. If we can't find the right players to improve us at the right time then I think we have enough to keep us moving forward.

''We've also got the young players coming through - that has been a big plus for everyone at the club this season. If we can continue with the nucleus of the established players we have and keep adding one or two kids and then maybe improve one or two in the summer.''

thanks for your clarification on my earlier post. ill dismiss the post from another reader. however i have had a thought 9dangerous i know). we need two wingers. what about bryan ruiz of twente and christian eriksen of ajax?? young, quick, skillfull, creative and can score goals. plus set piece ability. plus one left foot and one right foot. or even one of those. i don't think they would break the bank either. what do you think? {Ed001's Note - neither are really wingers.}

just gone through the whole rumours page and only
the names who interestingly hold any weight imop are
the ones who don't hide.Ps the ones that don't sign it's like shouting at the traffic otherwise.Chinese whispers mean nothing but proverbs are heard forever and they all left a signature.

I've been sat hear writing my dream team from the rumours that have been circulating, yes I am that sad! And just realized, we are not in Europe!!! We don't need a huge squad to play 38 games, THAT'S IT 38 GAMES, I reckon get rid of about 12 we all know who they are and sign 3 top class players, happy days.

hi ed,

as you may well know i am a frequent poster and huge follower of the site. however, i am concerned about the lack of opportunity Liverpool have, compared to their fiercest rivals in the prem, to sign the best available players, i.e Aguero, Neymar, Hazard, Mata, Sanchez, Benzema, Coentrao etc. My point is that Damien Commolli is their to help attract the best players for the areas identified by KK and therefore he must have a budget and a strategy. KK says 'get me a left winger'. DC should be able to convince Hazard more than anyone else to leave Lille for LFC as he should have them connections as part of his role. same said for Benzema. One french player who is admired by DC and most of europe (benzema). the other is france based and should be easily convinced to leave Lille. I understand that we have no european football but to be not in the running for these top players puts a dampener on my optimism. can you please confirm the role of DC so i can make an educated guess for transfers in, please?

thank you,

Kam {Ed001's Note - DC is there to oversee the scouting and conduct negotiations with chosen targets. It is not as easy as you make it sound to convince players to move country to a team that finished in what is effectively a mid-table position.}

26 May 2011 01:13:20
heard we go Damien comolli as a replacement for Tom Hicks. We just need someone stupid to mess things up at the club

The way I look at the idea of not playing in Europe and therefore not being able to bring in the top talent is this: I'm a yank and here in our College Football (not futbol) system, there is a school, USC, that has been banned from playing in Bowl games for two years which would be equivalent to LFC not being able to win the Premiership or any other trophy for that matter except maybe the League Cup. They have been able to still bring in the top talent in the U.S. year in and year out because of their tradition and promise of better things to come. These players have the choice of any school in the country.

This, to me, is almost identical to LFC. We should not get down, we should be confident that KK and DC will be able to sell the club and future trophies to prospective players and if they truly want to play for one of the greatest clubs, with the greatest traditions, with the best supporters in the world, they will come. If they want to go to Man City, or Arsenal or even Chelsea for the payday, fine. They won't be able to say that they have helped the greatest club in the world rise back to the top and once again prove that there is one and only one, Liverpool Football Club.

Liverpool should sign Andy Reid. Andy Reid has been released by Blackpool after joining the club from Sunderland in January. Ex-Sunderland man Andy Reid will become a free agent this summer {Ed001's Note - he is fat and rubbish.}

26 May 2011 00:55:53
Any chance on swaping sergio aguero for Andy Carroll. I still think 35million was too much when a player like Sergio £38million.

But that has to tell you something people. Sergio didn't want to come in january for a reason and he turned lfc/ totteham down.

Real Madrid will be his final destination. This move would make Karim Benzema reall surplus to requirments. Liverpool try to get him before man utd sign him.

26 May 2011 00:51:35
I think this would be liverpool position for the next season: 4-3-3 ======REINA====== ====BAINES====CARRAGHER====CAHILL====ENRIQUE==== LUCAS==== ====== ADAM ======SUAREZ====MEIRELES====GERRARD=====KUYT===== =====CARROLL===== what are you thought about it eds?? Can you rate it eds and are you agree what liverpool team is??... Hehehee.. Please rate it eds.. :)

that seems to be more than the conventional 4-3-3, unless you know something we don't know I suggest that you get rid of a player! do you really think we will introduce 3 new players to our back 4, i certaintly don't!

Young Red 1990 {Ed001's Note - two left backs as well.}

Nothing will happen will transfer for the next week or so, because Liverpool players such as Alberto Aquilani, Jovanavic, , Joe Cole and many more are trying to see where they will fit in next season.

Personally i believe liverpool will sign the following players in the next month or 2:

Charlie Adams 4 to 8 million

Enrique - 4 to 10 million

Friedel - On a 2 year contract

Marveaux - On a 4 year deal

other names that are being mentioned are a load of rubbish

BUT A BIG NAME SIGNING WILL BE BROUGHT IN THIS COULD BE:

MATA
BENZEMA
DIEGO
EILA
A.YOUNG

Firstly, these Aguero "rumours" are becoming even more tedious than they were last year (if that's possible!!)
I really hope R.Madrid or somebody snaps him up sooner rather than later so we can put all these supposed sightings etc. to bed.
My wishes for the Summer are;
a) We DON'T sign Michael Owen (GreedyTurncoat)
b) We DON'T sign Joey Barton (Criminal thug)
c) We DON'T sign Aaron Lennon (attitude)
d) We DON'T sign Stephen Warnock (Carp)
All of the above represent exactly what we've been spoon-fed over the last decade or so......and look where that's got us!
We don't need any more Pennants, Kewells, Koncheskys, Voronins or Poulsens.
We don't need anymore deadwood as they are very tough to get rid of (as we'll find out soon!)
We don't need crappy players pledging to stay and fight for their places even though nobody wants them.
We don't need players who trouble the physios more than the opposition whilst being paid fortunes for it.
You can't build a Cruise-liner out of driftwood, just a raft which barely floats !! (Wow, I'll write that down!)
What we need is 3-5 very, very good additions and to get rid of whatever rubbish we can;
Cole, Konchesky, Poulsen etc. (we all know the list and it's a long one!)
By the way......I was at John Lennon Airport today and I saw Sergio A........only kidding!
P.S. We have some cracking lads coming through (Silva, Ince, Wisdom, Coady, Sterling, Dorans, N'Goo, Robinson, Flannagan, Kelly etc.) so there's nothing to be gained by flooding the squad with more mediocrity. Surely a smaller but better-quality squad is more sensible ?

Mike Ashley is a greedy hoe. Newcastle should give us a free player considering how much we have spent with them in the past. Mike Ashley is going to rape liverpool again. I would stay clear of that fat b**tard and his pikey club

26 May 2011 00:41:20
Signing aguero would be fantastic but it would be unnecesary, aguero would cost in excess of 40 million, money that could be spent on 2 top class wingers in lets say mata and hazard (not that these will sign im using them as examples)

LETS GET REAL!

The squad has shown significant improvements since the King returned.

Liverpool do not need to recruit 7 or 8 new faces when 3 will do.

The squad is huge, one of the biggest in the premier league, we have a lot of deadwood out on loan.

If people honestly think spending 12 mill on enrique would be an improvement on the squad then i am personally lost... give me izaguirre any day... better yet give me glen johnson, aurelio, wilson or even agger on the flanks. Man Utd have a weakness at right back and still won the league (it kills me too say) if people think that none of the above (of which robinson and flanagan are omitted) could do a good job in that position then well maybe we should get the cheque book out... however lets concentrate on the areas that really matter.... splash out on 1 or 2 at a push 3 big stars in forward areas...WHO WE CAN STILL ATTRACT (remember suarez (one of the stars of the world cup, albeit for being a great goalie, came to us at one of our lowest points in our recent history))

I would have to go to town on my own 'happy areas' with a sharp tool if we spent £15 plus million on gary cahill - we should be aiming for the birmingham centre half dual with my preference being towards scott dann at a snip of that price and in my opinion equally as reliable, if not more.

Lets reward those who have excelled in the middle of the park this year (lucas, meirelles and spearing)- mostly without the help of stevie g who we look forward to welcoming back next year - by not spending our precious transfer fund on the likes of charlie adam or scott parker

Let us hope the club are lining up some good wingers.... if only navas wasn't so homesick and was a kopite

joey barton if nothing would stand up to carroll and maybe stop his quest to be cock (alfa male ) if you like.
witch might be the young dumb and full of c*m's thing,
"he's the type"and i am not dogging him, it shows balls
and that's what liverpool need but barton has been through it and might be able to channel his aggression
to the pitch.Just a thought.

Heard that if we fail in our pursuit of aguero ( if u can call it a pursuit ) we will chase benzema.... We had an offer of £20m accepted in January. He would have been here only Higuain got injured and Mourinho refused to let him go. I'm confident that Comolli will move for him and Mourinho has made him available for £22m. We actually planed to have a strike force of Torres, Carroll, Suarez (3 different strikers) however Torres left and now Comolli wants a like for like replacement for Torres and sees Benzema as the man we wanted a target man, off the shoulder and a drop off striker. we actually went in for Llorente first as Torres wanted him. but Suarez was always on the agenda as the drop off man. we actually bid for Aguero as Dalglish feels he could play off the shoulder also but I think Benzema is more likely and a viable option.

________________

We got Carroll as a replacement for Torres, if Torres didn't leave we wouldn't have made a move for Carroll.

---------------

No we were planning on getting him in the summer anyway but the torres departure meant carrols transfer was brought forward. Comolli said this in an interview with 442 recently

Blair...joey Barton might have a history but he is not crap, he would be a cheaper option that sicknote gerrard(who also likes a good fight now don't he?)
Plus he would make a better captain than gerrard....and rafa is crap...£250 million spent on over 100 players in six years...no title and only about four or five of those players were any good...plus I also remember you slagging rafa off whilst he was here..

And there's nothingcwrong with my memory of how we used to play, it was the mist entertaining football ever...it was called pass and move...and we won everything under that system mate so keep your modern European $hire style as they have failed for lfc and were not only boring but with houllier and rafa combined cost this club almost £500 million on transfers alone
