I think BR missed a big opportunity to praise Mignolet tonight. Instead of heaping it all on theirs.
If it wasn't for Mignolet we'd have easily lost a few.
Never thought I'd say that, it's usually the other way around

Believable19 Unbelievable1

Apart from the kickouts I think it was his best performance in a red shirt

Agree4 Disagree0

It took Chelsea two and a half hours of open play to register a shot on target in the two games. Did they deserve to go through???

Agree6 Disagree0

They won the second game, so hard to see how they don't deserve to go through.

Agree2 Disagree0

When he took the ball off a clean through Costa I couldn't believe.

Looks a different man

I think we should give Balotelli a chance against Bolton - A full 90 mins. There was a glimpse of what he could do, but his decision making is awful. Needs to work with those around him.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

What glimpses?

Agree4 Disagree3

28 Jan 2015 00:47:24
I think he showed signs of improvement. He still has a long way to go but I think he deserves a run in the team, assuming he works hard in training. He has ability, he held the ball up well several times tonight and had several clever flicks.

Agree5 Disagree0

I saw the work ethic when Balotelli came on. He was pressing and surprisingly working without the ball that Rodgers desires.

It is when he is in possession that he has been struggling, he doesn't really know when to release the ball or to play the right passes. His shooting is off but I can't blame him for that since he has hardly played.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 23:19:37
I really hate watching us play Chelsea, I loath them with a passion. However I thought we played well, really committed performance if not a little toothless but had enough chances. Once Sakho went off and Johnson came on I thought we where doomed ( Why do people slag Sakho off I think he has improved greatly lately}

I keep getting mixed up between my FIFA 15 Balo and the real one. The FIFA one is very good, the real one is not. I again sadly thought this might be his chance to seize
the moment but was as usual a complete toss pot of the highest order.

Mistake not bringing on Lallana earlier however some great gutsy performances from everybody else. The whole experience seemed to last a week

Believable5 Unbelievable1

27 Jan 2015 23:39:05
Balotelli has a lot of potential (which I hoped we could get out of him) and showed it tonight as can pass, control the ball, strong, fast, etc but needs to apply it more which for some reason i still hope he will - can't explain why.

Big worry I have is the team as a whole's ability to hit the self destruct button and concede at the worse times.

against united, dominated the whole game, sterling goes one-on-one with the keepr. 2 mins later we concede.

against arsenal, dominate them all game, get a goal. silly foul, free header, and we equalise before half time.

Same with everton, dominate the game, don't put away chances, 90th minute equaliser.

Same tonight, not going to try make excuses for balotelli as needs to apply himself more - but we just can't defend anything and unlike last season aren't scoring enough to make up for it.

But even last season, against chelsea, palace, etc just concede bad goals at stupid times.

Agree1 Disagree0

Balotelli has really divided opinion tonight

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jan 2015 00:51:55
Balotelli is clearly pressing. You could tell he was trying to make an impact unfortunately it was usually to the detriment of the team. He drifts wide too much which can be okay especially if Sturridge was playing along side, but I just don't see how he fits into the team especially if we continue in this formation. Hopefully he can make an impact on Thursday nights because that is really the only legitimate time I see him getting.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Jan 2015 01:01:49
In fairness hasn't really played much at all sense we've switched to this new formation.

Tbf don't see why we did him a start against Bolton and rest other players, then if he played well brought him on tonight

27 Jan 2015 23:17:54
i have to say well done to the liverpool lads today played there hearts out, all of them. have not 1 bad word about anyone after tonights match. we only lost to a better team, even tho it hurts in saying it. but we did everything we could. i'm proud of my team after preforming like that. we go again !

Believable2 Unbelievable1

IMO, both teams were evenly matched and the ball bounced their way. Still don`t know how Costa finished that game. Should have been off from the first 20mins after stamping on Can and later Skrtel then driving SG into the ground.

Agree6 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 23:16:58
Can't believe some of the criticism. What a game! Both teams what a credit to our clubs. Don't want to argue about any penalties or wrong decisions, at the end of the day, we went the Bridge and gave them a game. couldn't have asked more from our team. I don't mind losing like that at all, losing against a lower team when not performing winds me up but that was sheer entertainment, what football is meant to be about. Well done lads!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Great effort but we still got beat!

Agree1 Disagree2

The boys gave their best and credit BR for getting them ready to play. How did Costa stay on the field?

Agree2 Disagree1

Please stop praising BR. We lost because of him. He played G.J for 1. Gerard for 120 minutes. left Lallana out. and why is Borini still not no.1 striker. leave sterling to be a wide forward and get on with things. The thing with BR is even when he gets the formation right and the tactics he still makes glaring personnel blunders and chooses his "boys". and it hurts the team. most people end up being less effective. the fact that people are versatile doesn't mean they give the best output in positions they are played by the nose. Chelsea was there for the taking we just had BR as a coach that is all. He has a way of undoing his own work which is really frustrating for me as a fan. I would like to appreciate the team, though they gave their all yesterday. With a better coach they were good for wembley. Kudos to Migs.

Ron the Red

Spot on, Sakho off & then move players back to where ineffective a few games ago with others played totally out of position ie GJ left CB.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 23:04:25
Just like to say wonderful performance great effort from the lads
With sturridge in that team we will get a lot more goals, however still a striker is needed

Btw Glen Johnson better get a new contract. no sort of petition we can start

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Why would you want to give him a new contract?

Agree5 Disagree0

Keep hearing this! nabeal_786 and we are almost at the end of a transfer window, still no encouraging news is there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry that was meant to say he better not get a new contract haha

And yeah we would be a completely different team with sturridge and another world class striker

27 Jan 2015 22:55:30
Courtois being MOM both games says a lot.
Got to give Mingolet credit tonight, apart from I think 2 misplaced kicks he was excellent, best game I can remember for a long while.
Can't really criticised anyone except maybe Balotelli and I've been less critical of him than most but he's not right is he!
Lucas and Skrtel excellent, Henderson an absolute workhorse, shame about what was a terrible miss with the header, coutinho some wonderful play, sterling had a few quiet periods Can done well but I don't think he's a defender, Gerrard got worse as the game went on, haven't seen him shoot so wayward before but got to say early on he played a few lovely passes. Sakho, got to say I don't like him, too many silly mistakes for me. Markovic and Moreno bit quiet and could have done more, Moreno could have done better with chance Gerrard put on a plate for him.

Ah who cares about the league cup. Wish Chelsea with all my heart to win it as long as it is their only trophy this season. The really annoying thing is that we still have to go there in the PL. Can't stand this team and as long as Mourinho is there this term they will have the upper hand. I can't believe I am saying this but I would rather ManU will win the league than Mourinho's guys. At least they are out of the FA cup.

If we look only on 90 minutes I think we conceded only 1 goals in our last 5 games. But our problem from the first day of the season is that we just cannot score and this wouldn't change if we played chelsea today for anothey 120 minutes.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

It wasn't as if we didn't create chances. I'd be more concerned if that was the case, but it is frustrating, especially hendos header. reminiscent of rush's thrupenny bit head!

Agree0 Disagree0

We had 2 opps that on a good day and w/ a natural striker, we would have won and if the ref had not bottled it, Costa should NEVE have finished that game. W/ a fit Studge (Let`s all hold hands and pray), we have a chance of giving 4thplace a real go. Well done to the boys and the manager getting them ready for a big game.

Agree2 Disagree1

Maybe if one was available that wanted to come here we would of.

28 Jan 2015 05:07:27

I remember when people were saying that John Terry was 'past it': how wrong were they? As solid a performance as I've seen that.

Well done Chelsea and well done Liverpool for giving us a proper cup game.

If there ever was a definitive contrast between two past or present Liverpool players, Suarez and The Italian are that. For the first time in his tenure, I actually had a little belief that he might do something when he came one. The only thing he definitely has done is cement his place in the reserves until a simpleton club comes calling.

The loss of Sakho probably cost us that game and bringing on the chubby Johnson certainly didn't help.

Still, great, feisty, strong performance that.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - agreed that was proper cup match}

Unfortunately the simpleton club called last summer. we can hope but he's hardly helped his or our cause

Agree1 Disagree0

Still feel that attack will break down the top 7 in the league davey?

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jan 2015 22:33:53
Henderson our next captain?? why? because he's been with the firm the longest.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

Skrtel? Lucas? Johnson?

Agree0 Disagree4

He's consistent, Never injured and constantly giving orders(more than gerrard)

He puts a shift in every game. And he backs it up with decent stats that get better year on year.

Agree8 Disagree3

He was excellent tonight but just lacked the finish on the header, trying to put it out of Courtois' reach.

He is best choice for captain when Gerrard leaves. His desire and focus are exceptional.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes and he scores loads of goals. oh wait a minute! he misses open goals!

Agree0 Disagree4

Jack,
if goal scoring is a requirement for captain.
Then We are truly doomed!

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2015 08:05:40
Cause Gerrard has never missed a great chance?

Agree0 Disagree0

Who was the first player in the refs face and standing up to John Terry when Costa was head to head with Skrtel after his second stamp, the great Steven Gerrard captain fantastic? No didn't think so Henderson was there arguing his teams cause like he does every game

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 22:27:32
Does anyone still think Sakho is our best defender ? Too many mistakes for me.

Believable7 Unbelievable15

27 Jan 2015 22:40:12
He had an absolute nightmare tonight, that's pretty inescapable, but I think over the last few games he had been.

His problem (aside from the pure brain fade for the pass to Oscar) is he's too confident on the ball. Trying short one twos out of the back and letting it bounce in behind him because he backs his ability to hold off the opposition forward and keep possession.

He needs to be coached when to just put the foot through it.

Agree2 Disagree1

Are you joking ? The lad makes 1 bad pass all game, where no one was showing feet. He was absolutely fantastic tonight and dealt with Willian all game.

Agree13 Disagree7

2 bad passes but other than that, solid.
Shame if he was to miss some matches. Personally I think since him and Lucas have been in the team, I've seen a bit of last year.
I bet Sturridge is itching to get in at the moment.
Mignolet, where did that come from?

Agree3 Disagree0

No sorry benny, wwhat about the way he let's the ball bounce ad gives Costa the chance to odour muscles him and take it off him, in the first leg he made two howlers (misplaced pass and letting ball go over his head towards kop goal) in the first ten/ fifteen mins, I think it was that game anyway, no he's not for me mate, not convinced by him at all

Agree2 Disagree1

Typical! Sahko hass one bad game out of the 6-7 games and suddenly, he`s no longer our best. There ere mistakes by all the 20 outfield players today which shows how great a cup game it was.

Agree6 Disagree3

28 Jan 2015 08:06:30
All sing now:

'AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRE you BR in disguise?'

Agree0 Disagree0

Redohio, i haven't judged Sakho after one bad game, its been my opinion from day 1, he scares me when he is on the ball, I didn't know a lot about him before we signed him but thought PSG captain at 22 (ish) French international, £16mill fee sounds good but he hasn't lived up to my expectations to be honest. Just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2015 17:10:55
It's a classic old case. What he actually does and how he actually plays is irrelevant, it's all about how he looks doing it. Which is why everyone in England thinks that Mark Nobel and Alex Song are great CDMs, but no-one outside Liverpool rates Lucas

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 22:21:27
Balotelli is a disgrace to the club and should have his contract terminated. Most selfish and senseless cameo I've ever seen from a Liverpool player

Believable6 Unbelievable9

{Ed018's Note - yea he is awful and looks like he doesn't care. We were happy anytime he touched the ball}

I thought he did ok. He seems to b everyone's scapegoat! He is not the reason we are not in the final.

Agree14 Disagree3

27 Jan 2015 22:47:13
@ Magic.

What game were you watching? He didn't run once. Not once. He just ambled and jogged around covering less ground than players who had played 70-120 minutes of high intensity football. He barely got into the penalty area, could only provide an outlet by going wide on the left from where he didn't carry any sort of threat whatsoever. His total contribution was a couple of flashy backheels that led to nothing, and then costing us a goal by giving the ball away and losing Ivanovic on the freekick.

It was an absolute joke of a performance by a professional footballer. A player can struggle because slow, technically limited, not strong enough or inexperienced. Balotelli is none of those things, but he was as bad as someone who is all four simply because he didn't put in enough effort.

Agree5 Disagree5

Magic, he gave away the ball which led to the free kick from which he let Ivanovic walk free for their goal, screwed up one shot from the edge of the box before blaming the pitch, lost the ball about 10 times and tried to lob the keeper from a position it was nearly physically impossible to do so

Agree5 Disagree3

The main questions for me are;

1) Why keep Gerrard on the pitch when he was completely ineffective.
2) Why bring Glen Johnson on as centre half when he is one of the least effective defensive players we have and being a defender that's not good.
3) Why bring on a centre forward and put him on the wing.

Only positive thing out of tonight was Mignolet's performance, had a really good game and didn't look like getting beaten until that person Johnson decided that he would fall asleep and not track Ivanovich.

Agree4 Disagree1

27 Jan 2015 23:20:05
You're right let's flog him and throw I him to the wolves. He contributed a lot more thn lambert. I thought he had several clever touches and you're a moron if you think he didn't sprint at all.

Agree4 Disagree2

He's not aggressive enough and gets brushed off the ball a bit easy for a guy his size.

He's definitely not quite there yet psychologically. But hopefully experiences like tonight will push him on to achieve more for LFC.

Its not his fault. Finishing was again poor, we created enough clear chances.

Its really a case of him hitting a significantly low point in his career and life, his confidence is low and the chances he's had to rebuild have gone against him. That confidence is the foundation for his entire ability. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Agree2 Disagree1

Coutinho missed by shooting at keeper. Henderson missed a sitter. Sterling thought the kop was the goal. Balotelli made mistakes, just like everyone else. Lucas gave the foul away. Who allocates who marks on set pieces. I'm pretty sure it's not balotelli. Why was he left with ivanovic?
Seems like some people have tunnel vision.
I get u don't like the guy. But think you guys are being unfair.
next your gona tell me it's His fault prince Charles has big ears.

Agree7 Disagree0

Hopeful makes the only sensible post on this thread, IMO.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jan 2015 22:10:18
Surely there's something wrong when Sterling is in the centre or at the edge of the box and Ricky Lambert is out wide crossing the ball?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

27 Jan 2015 22:25:09
We were out on our feet at the end I think. Why didn't Lallana come on with the midfield flagging?

Agree8 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 22:25:11
Aye, your understanding of football. Yes, it's not ideal, but that isn't how the game of football works.

Agree1 Disagree3

Yes is called poor tactics. Rogers is trying to pull players across with lambert and balotelli on the flanks. But these two players have 0 work rate so how would that work. It should be llalana and Sturridge but it's Rogers so I'm not suprised. I'm sure Rogers is gone at the end of this season. And good riddance

Agree6 Disagree4

If it was a good joke i would laugh!
the team selection is upside down mate, the sooner we get shut the better

Agree4 Disagree2

27 Jan 2015 22:30:00
Oh. And bring Johnson on instead of Lovren wtf? Especially against a Chelsea team with big men, good in the air

Agree8 Disagree1

Dear me! We get beat by an extra time goal away at Stamford Bridge and yet the hounds are out looking for a scapegoat. What about it was a great game which could have went either way? Great effort by the team against undoubtedly the best squad in Britain?

Agree4 Disagree4

The Irish Rover yes we really tried. but lost again, how many times have we dominated the game only to get beat? i am sick and tired of it, it's painful, there is something wrong with the selection or tactics or lack of quality players, and i can't defend it anymore, oh it was this or that, we were unlucky, (what again) excuses! most fans know what's needed and it ain't happening under BR is it? i am still waiting for someone to explain our transfer policy, maybe i should not hold my breath or bury my head in the sand! let's all have blind faith.

Agree2 Disagree1

Jack, Essex be careful how you post your opinions on the blunders BR may have made during this game because you might be labelled "a BR hater or anti-BR" for just refusing to stick your head in the sand and ignore his blunders.

Agree3 Disagree1

I thought we did well

No luck again. Costa was a stonewall red card.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

How many times are we going to blame bad luck?

Agree0 Disagree4

Every team needs a little luck.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mighty reds, i am talking about using it as an excuse! wearing a bit thin now mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn`t matter about luck if the rf is too intimidated by Mou who has gotten into the refs` heads by whining about decisions that sometimes didn`t even happen. Costa is well-protected and can physically assault any player on the field and the ref will do nothing due to not incurring Mou`s wrath. He thinks he`s the bully now because Fergie`s gone and only the refs association can end this but like Fergie`s time, they will bottle it as well.

Pls it must be a rubbish rumour that we are interested in Chuba Akpom?? He is a future prospect but youngster at LFC are like Salah at Chelsea they get no chance to play much less shine. Surprised he's giving Markovic so much game time and i think its because of his hefty price tag but that's just my opinion so take no offence y'all.

Believable0 Unbelievable10

27 Jan 2015 19:26:20

After the game at Anfield last week i said Chelsea packed the penalty area and blocked our attack, after we scored Chelsea showed what their attack was capable of and looked very dangerous and to expect the full attack at Stamford Bridge, that was Jose's tactics, lots of posters on here disagreed and mocked my comments, well tonight we will find out if i was right or wrong! i really hope i am WRONG!! c'mon you reds

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Oh dear, beat again, tut, must be all that bad luck going about! at least we had a go, but never mind there will be more disappointment before the end of the season with BR Lions.
when are the posters on here going to take the blinkers off and see we won't win anything with this manager or the way the club is being run, top players don't want to come here, ask yourself why?

And how often have two long standing records been broken in consecutive games?

Agree2 Disagree0

Slightly different but Xabi Alonso broke 3 bundesliga records in 4 games. and David Moyes broke 13 records in his time at United.

Also remember Mourinho having a long standing unbeaten home record at Chelsea that some team broke.

27 Jan 2015 14:27:38
hey lfc fans

so. . . my prediction tonight is a comfortable chelsea win. (not because i want them to win so calm the hell down) but i'm just being real
i just think chelsea will win because they are strong down the flanks where liverpool are so weak defensively and they will exploit that to a tee

secondly liverpool never score from wide crosses . well maybe like 1 out of 12 or sth
but they seem to do this arsenal tippy tap one two thing right infront of the centre backs. where chelsea are really strong with matic in that area too

so that's my reasoning on this game

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Red lobster, I actually agree in as that it will be very tough tonight and Chelsea are favourites, however none of what you said actually happened in the first leg did it!

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 15:02:01
Well Bradford went there and beat a fairly strong Chelsea side 2-4 , why can't we do what they did . They will be wobbling from the Bradford game and will have doubts in their confidence, we need to take advantage

Agree3 Disagree0

Guys. . i understand both points of view

but bradford don't play like liverpool at all and i just think the first leg was just to maintain and keep it tight. they still scored just from one guy attacking.
so i'm saying that chelsea are a sure win. BECAUSE of the style of liverpools play just makes it easier for chelsea to defend. and defensively liverpool can't hold hazard and willian down the flanks

so my comment is just based on liverpool style of play. not that chelsea are too unstoppable at home

Agree2 Disagree3

I agree with Red Lobster. i'm going for Chelsea to win 3-1 and mark my words i'm never wrong with these things.

Agree0 Disagree3

27 Jan 2015 16:17:22
Red Lobster does your theory have anything to do with Mourinho's comment this morning saying the exact same thing about exploiting the flanks?

Agree5 Disagree0

Definitely not john b

It's just what I notice in games
Chelsea just has the better quality to do the job against liverpools style offensively and defensively

I would say the same if arsenal were playing Chelsea tonight because their tactics r kinda similar

Agree0 Disagree5

Irish rover you must be brewstered, "never wrong", do us a favour give me 5 results for the weekend please, i'll throw a tenner on a five fold

Agree4 Disagree0

John B, in the words of Katherine Tate, "How very dare you"

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 17:52:45
Read what Irish posted and done tenner on chelsea to win 3-1 , 11/1 odds not bad .

Agree0 Disagree0

Slight advto Chelsea but we could nick it, it's only the carling cup but now that we are at the semis I want to win it,

Agree0 Disagree0

The biggest pessimist going you are Red Lobster! I think at the back end of last season you predicted us to lose so many matches.
Liverpool to take it on pens.
Come on lads!

Agree0 Disagree0

My reason for a Chelsea win is Rodgers

Agree1 Disagree0

Roy
I apologise in advance! :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Roy are you a red? if yes, how can you bet against your team? wouldn't that be dirty dirty money if you won? Just like I wouldn't back Man U to win even if it was nutty odd's on because i want them to lose more than i want to win money.

Hello to all the EDS and fellow REDS

Rumours are Real have Raheem in mind! I despise how they simply buy the best every season! I admit I would love my club to flex its financial muscle now and then but not just buy anyone's prize assets every season. Maybe that's why I love watching the Spanish big two lose!

So, unless we get Top4, sign players, at least as good as Sterling, I think the kid is going to go, and I don't blame him. Is it true we're bartering over his wages? Does Ian Ayres realize what bigger clubs may be offering him? All great building a new stand but a successful team's much much more important.

Or have I been reading the rumours too seriously? Let's hope with Sturridge back Balotelli will hit form and we begin to climb up the table, and Sterling to sign the new contract. Although in all honesty even a contract extension, with much better terms, will not stop the bigger boys (can't believe I'm actually afraid of other teams) making waves to get him.

But let's be positive, Chelsea tonight, let's get to Wembley!

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid are one of several clubs interested in Sterling. He wants more than Liverpool are offering, and that is not simply financially. It is simply a matter of negotiation.}

Want us to keep him but don't think £100k + is really justifiable.

If it is to do with football reasons then fair enough, but does play constantly (though maybe too much) and will imagine we will be involved in european football (europa league but still) and have a good squad so are set well him to develop.

Plus if you are talking 'bigger' sides (barca, real, chelsea, bayern etc.) can't really see him being a first team starter, isco and ribery aren't first team starters for their clubs! so can't see why staying for 1-2 seasons with us isn't the best option for him.

But if he goes it is his job and couldn't see him refusing to play, just as much as it is our ayre's job to get as much money as possible (aim for £30-40M). Shame if he goes though good little player!

I get what you're saying IranRed. I know a couple of Bayern fans and they say largely the same thing - they gave up their season tickets this year saying there is no point, they'd rather buy to weaken opposition then to strengthen themselves and the league has just become boring because of it. Some teams have the mentality that if you fight them on the pitch, they'll take chunks off you off the pitch until you collapse a la Dortmund. Sad really

Eds could you please tell the clubs apart from Real Madrid which are interested in sterling?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea and Manchester City.}

Thanks a lot

Would it be fair to say Sterling doesn't want any restrictions in his new contract on who he can sign for if he decides to move? For example Premier League clubs?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You cannot put such restrictions in contracts.}

I have a horrible feeling he could end up at Chelsea I just don't see him going abroad at this stage of his career. I do wonder what other assurances he is asking for if it's just not just about money.

First can someone explain why a new contract is so urgent if it doesn't run out until 2017? Second I would like to say, if Real Madrid want to give us a nice pay day then I would take it immediately, he is not THAT good. Thirdly Sterling is an absolute idiot if he thinks that leaving this club would be good for him and if he wants it that much then forget him. We have plenty of talented young players such as Ojo and Ibe and even senior guys Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic who are talented too.

Thanks Ed002. You learn something new every day. Even at my age!

{Ed001's Note - you would think when even Methuselah calls you old timer you would know everything by now.......}

03beef, it kinda needs to be sorted before the summer because if there's an indication he won't sign we want to be open to offers in the summer.
If let him get to 18 or even 12months left his valuation will be half or even less.

Agree0 Disagree0

What dose he want ed2? You said it is not simply fisncially
Thanks

{Ed002's Note - He will be looking for assurances for the future - an exit plan if Liverpool don't make the Champions League perhaps.}

As a point of interest, why did we give Johnson an extension? Surely his presence is now holding up other players and a better option would have been flogging him to Roma.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

To allow wisdom and flanno to be brendaned.

Agree3 Disagree3

Or just flogging him.

{Ed002's Note - Not beyond what the club has said about Gerrard, Johnson et..}

Is flanno and ibes contact not up soon

{Ed002's Note - Ibe will have been on a kiddie contract until recently - I don't know what happened about a renewal. JF's contract runs out in the summer.}

flanno is a cracking full back, proper old skool who defends off his front foot, gets stuck in and gets the crowd going. We ahve really missed his stability since he has been out which has been a long time o-inciding with sort of team the league went begging. hope he can improve his final delivery and attacking play, he will make a difference when back, just hope johno gets bombed for him which i doubt and to be fair he is more of a full back than part of a 5.

Whats ya thoughts on Sturridge being involved tomorrow night Eds? Wont hold you to it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - should be on the bench.}

27 Jan 2015 06:05:43
While sat on the bench he will pull a hamstring and miss the rest of the season. You set em up Ed's 001 and i'll knock em down. Ha Ha

Agree1 Disagree9

Really hope Sturridge has recovered completely. not just for LFC, but its kinda sad to see him being so unlucky with injuries.

Agree6 Disagree1

Rather just not risk it! Even if he comes on, scores the winner, out for another month, is that good?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 12:22:12
Got to risk him sometime and it would give the lads a lift wouldn't it?
